starting a series with innocence we're still in back to the basics but we're going to start on stewardship on today not listen y'all don't sign off you know when i preach on monday and you're here you that was when his son died on the cross of calvary when jesus christ died on the cross of calvary when he shed his blood for the sins of the world it was the expression that whatever you've been stuff going on in your life that if the lord don't make a way if you know you got some stuff going on in your life that you know if god don't bend down into it here's what i want you to say all i have need god you already provided before the bill comes before the medical report comes before anything happens to my children or my spouse or my but god before it shows up you've already fixed it so i i'm thinking about the things he's done and the ways he's made i'm i'm thinking about the things i've still got to face and i'm declaring in advance god whatever it is you've already fixed it whatever it is you've already handled it whatever it is you already god listen here's what i want you to say to yourself right now if you're facing god i want to run i want you to say this out of your mouth god already knows what he's going to do i need you to just say that to yourself right now i don't know what you're facing i don't know what you're dealing with i don't know what you're struggling with i don't know what meeting you have this week i don't know what doctor appointment you have this week but i want you to throw your head back and just declare god already knows what he's going to do media describing your church i want you to do hashtag being bethel because what you just heard this morning that's just being bethel going from from the calypso contemporary all the way back to the old school that's just being bethel the way y'all blessed your bishop on last week that's just being bethel and it says on the front we are a body of faith believers committed to the cause of christ engaging in the transformation of lives community and culture to worship witness and word resulting in discipleship that is personal powerful purposeful and portable when somebody say child how y'all doing all that from now on i just want you to tell them we just be in bethel that's just who we are that's just what we do lord this has been so sweet in here today it has been unprovoked unrushed just basking in the ambiance of the glory of god it's just be in bethel because that's who we are we are not hemmed into one style we can do it all not just our worship is being bethel but the way we have engaged in the community let's just be in bethel and now even the way we give it's just being bethel it's it's what we do it's who we are it's our identity oh i'm i'm trying to talk because i'm trying to get myself together i'm trying to get myself together yay oh lord have mercy just being bethel and from now on everything you hashtag if you're on facebook or this morning or you're posting on instagram i just want you to hashtag being bethel that's that's what we all can't nobody be us nobody can be us nobody it's who we are not that whatever somebody else is isn't as good it's good for who they are but can't nobody beat us at being bethel and a part of being bethel is the stewardship that you practice you're giving now your giving is so important to what we do here it's so important to who we are and you see all of our giving platforms i'm going to challenge some of you you can give now but if you will wait through this sermon to give those of you who want to go ahead and give putting a new sound system in and i know some of y'all are saying they sound fine over here yeah y'all don't know the tricks they have to turn to make it sound good and uh so your giving is important stewardship demonstration sunday on the third sunday of november we're going to preach these series of sermons this week you're going to get a text message from me jocelyn doesn't know it yet uh with a video uh explaining stewardship sunday praise team man y'all ready i'm believing god on the third sunday of november in one offering for us to raise a half million dollars in one offering i need everybody in agreement with now if you're not gonna agree with it just don't put your mouth on it but i am believing stewardship demonstration sunday the third sunday of november a half million little trouble i don't i don't know if they were able to get it we were having a little diff okay they got it because i know we were having a little difficulty with the scripture but they got it come on go to matthew chapter six glory to god facebook i need you i need you saying amen or touch and agree on this on this stewardship demonstration sunday i need to see your amens and i need to see hey mary i see your hashtag being bethel i see it right there i see it right there i need your amens for this stewardship demonstration sunday yes matthew chapter 6 beginning at verse 25. therefore i tell you do not worry or i like what the version they have keep that version up y'all cause i'm going to refer to that actually in the sermon take no thought for your life what you shall eat or what you shall drink nor yet for your body what you shall put on is not the life more than meat and the body more than raiment or clothes look at the birds of the air they don't sow a reap or stow away in barns yet your heavenly father feeds them are you not much better than they are can any one of you by worrying at a single hour to your life and why do you worry about clothes there it is again taki thought why take your thought why do you worry about clothes see how the flowers of the field grow they do not labor or spin yet i tell you that not even solomon and all his splendor was dressed like one of these if that is how god closed the grass of the field which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire will god not much more clothed you oh ye of little faith so do not worry there it is again take no thought saying what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what shall we wear for the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly father knows that you have need of them here we go but seek ye first the kingdom of god and god's righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you lord have mercy we're going to start preaching on stewardship today and i hope that my hearts up and everything else i'm preaching this morning get my mind off my money and my money off my mind get my mind off my money and my money off my mind i was talking to a friend of mine recently um who one of my brothers one of my covenant brothers uh and we were talking about weight loss i i've i've been losing and engaged in losing weight he's losing weight and and we were talking about um some persons that we know uh that had had had uh the sleeve surgery and gained all their weight back this is not to shun anybody i'm not not calling names because that's not even the point of it we were talking about how many of them had this sleeve surgery to get a slim body and yet many of them that we know are back up to the weight they were before they had the surgery one of the things we were talking about that both of us had read is that the danger of getting the sleeve surgery listen to this is that your body fights against it because your body is not used to it hear me your body fights against it so while you've slimmed down your body still craves the kind of foods that gave you the weight your body still craves the starches and the sweets that helped you put on the heaviness and so because your body fights against it your body has been shocked into a change listen that it was not disciplined into and i said to him man that's a good word because i believe there's something called the discipline of change now bishop what does weight loss have to do with a series on stewardship because if i were to only preach one sermon many of you would respond with great giving this morning but you would go back to how you've always given in the past too often i've seen it in churches where a preacher will preach on giving and a great offering will come that sunday and the next sunday it goes back to what it used to be because your body your mindset is fighting against what you did the sunday before because you have not developed the discipline of change so this is not going to be just one sermon no this is going to be a series of sermons so that we can shock our spiritual bodies into a disciplined change that will change our stewardship in in their book behind the stained glass windows money dynamics in the church the authors declare listen that the silence of the church on the topic of money has meant that church members have been left to form their attitudes towards their increasing resources based on consumer and world advertising and then brought those attitudes into the church and the result of that are believers who have a different mentality about their resources and who should manage them and how to match them the other mistake i believe that the church has made listen is to make the teaching of stewardship as it relates to finances all about money in reality i need y'all to hear me this morning the most important aspect of tithing and stewardship is not raising money for the church hear me because i'ma say some different stuff today the most important aspect of tithing and seed sowing is not raising money for the church but the development of devoted disciples to the kingdom now i need y'all to keep giving me a whole lot of hearts this morning facebook that doesn't happen by developing your money that happens by developing your heart the most important part of life is a change of heart why write this down because when you change your heart you can change your habits what is needed i believe it's not so much a stewardship plan as much as a stewardship attitude be very clear with me this morning here what i'm about to tell you stewardship as it relates to giving is not fund-raising i know i'm saying some stuff that preachers would ask me to stop saying stewardship is not fund-raising stewardship is the management of my time my talents and my resources for the glory of god see too often we as pastors have emphasized stewardship to meet the needs of the budget i told you i'm getting in trouble we often too often emphasize in the giving moment in our churches what the budget needs are in reality the reverse is needed we should be teaching people stewardship attitudes so that they can be financially healthy and when they are financially healthy according to the principles in god's word they will give then the church will become healthy hear what i'm telling you financially healthy families make for a financially healthy church i hope i hope you're preparing to give this morning the the solution here comes another shocker the solution to money problems is not getting more money that's not the pr i don't care what any preacher has told you that is not the purpose of tithing or seed sowing now can god give you financial prosperity absolutely i'm believing for it is there anything wrong with financial prosperity absolutely not but that is not and should not be the goal of your giving teach holy ghost see too many people think that dropping 10 of their income during offering or now online is like rubbing a rabbit's foot that that god will do something magical for you in return hear me god is not a guaranteed lottery where you buy a ticket and always win i know when you pay your tithe and when you sow your offering seed it is evidence of a changed attitude a changed heart and a renewed spirit you are giving out of gratitude obedience and worship y'all we've got to shift from thinking about raising money to developing disciples who give because of their discipleship here it again the church has got a shift from raising money to developing disciples who give because of their discipleship preach rudolph mckinsey the problem is spiritual and until we approach giving as a spiritual issue we will get no where here what i'm about to tell you i here comes another blow god does not honor money raising i mean i'm i'm in trouble god does not tim i'm in trouble already god does not pastor kim honor money raising god honors raising disciples say that one more time god does not honor money raising god honors raising disciples who practice stewardship because it is discipleship that results in obedience of which giving is a part of part of developing that discipleship should result in the financial health of you and your family that leads to biblical giving and part of getting to that place is priorities when we have priorities we also have objectives come on write that down when i have priorities i have objectives we we we know what we want in life based on what we believe is really important and we then set our objectives are y'all hearing me without priorities you can work hard all your life and never accomplish anything but when we know our priorities we can have meaning we can have fulfillment in life and that's really the point jesus is making in this part of his teaching on the sermon on the mount we're going to continue that on wednesday night by the way this text is not necessarily about worry even though we preach it and teach it about worry the worry is the result of bad priorities i'm trying to help somebody this morning see if you were to define the things jesus mentions in this text in modern day terms look at it again he he says why why do you worry about your life what you're gonna eat what you're gonna drink about your body what you're gonna put on what clothes you're going if you want to put that in modern day terms here i'm about to turn the corner on you everything jesus mentions involves spending everything jesus mentions involves money what you eat what you're going to put on jesus says to them if you want your money and your spending to be right and for you to not have to worry about those things that require money here's what you need to do seek ye first the kingdom of god get your mind off your money and your money off your mind and i know some people are already signing off i know some people are already tuning out but let me tell you why you need this word today because if you're worried you can't worship and if you can't worship you can't make it you think it's your money that's keeping you going you think it's having your needs and some of your wants that's keeping you satisfied but all of that can run out but if you develop a heart for god and a worship for god and a discipleship of the kingdom when you don't have the money you'll still have your joy when you don't have what you need god will supply it you've got to get your mind off your money and your money off your mind how do i do that very quickly i ain't going to keep you all along on this one how do you how do you do it number one i've already said it a little bit you have to plan your priorities read the text again if you go back to verse 25 first thing i read it starts with the word therefore which means therefore is that conjunction that is connecting one body of work to another body of work which means you've got to go back and read what jesus said before the therefore to discover to discover what the after that therefore is therefore i said it too fast i sound like the riddle on batman whenever there's a therefore you have to go to what was before the therefore to understand what's after the therefore and why what's after that therefore is therefore so if you were to go back to what jesus said before the therefore he talks about how you can't serve two masters you cannot serve money and god you cannot serve self and god you've got to love one and hate the other in other words jesus is talking about what you invest in where you store things so the lesson really starts back in verse 19 and is brought to summary in verse 33 and the point jesus is making is this we can seek the security of money or we can seek the security of god and your priority has to be the kingdom and the kingdom's righteousness because only then can you claim the provisional promise that all these other things will be added unto you listen to it again seek ye first i'm gonna help somebody he didn't say seek ye only he said seek ye first now the first thing that implies seek first suggests that there are there are other options and alternatives talk boy that you can be tempted to seek other options to god's plan for your life god god wants you to be blessed god wants you to be prosperous god wants you to be financially secure god wants you to be financially healthy god wants you to be able to buy what you want god wants you to be able to live where you want god wants you to be able to drive what you want y'all better hear me god does not have a problem with you having money ain't bananas in here and everybody should have hollered right then god god ain't after you being poor i don't care what these preachers tell you god ain't after you making some a declaration to abject poverty the devil is a liar the earth is the lord's and the fullness thereof which means anything that belongs in the earth that belongs to the lord if i'm the lord's child i gotta write to god does not have a problem with you being rich god does not have a problem with you having money god has a problem with money having you why because god is a jealous god and god is the one that you should put first verse of the month what's your what does your giving look like today you got your first of the month check what is your giving going to look like today see that means you got to know god's way and then seek god's way without compromise here's my question to you if you haven't signed off on me where are you laying up your treasures what are you seeking first what option are you depending on to meet your needs now before you answer that too quickly before you say oh i put god first before you say oh i'm i'm a giver before you answer that let me tell you our check stubs and credit card bills tell us what's important to us my big brother prophet todd hall said if it's on your back it ain't in your bank y'all don't like this kind of preaching if it's on your back it's not in your bank and i'ma add to it if there's more on your back than there is in your bank you are storing up the wrong thing in the wrong places [Applause] see we try to determine our spirituality by our prayer lives and how often we read the bible we we try to determine that we love the lord and we're spiritual because we pray and we read the bible but your checks though your check balance and your credit card bills are a more accurate barometer of what is really important to you i'ma ask you again how did you give this morning what did you give this morning did you did you give god a little bit to hold on to a lot or did you seek him first you got to plan your priorities number two is an outgrowth of number one because if i plan my priorities i can ward off worry i can keep worry away seek ye first the kingdom of god and god's righteousness and all these other things will be added upon you what other things the things you've been worrying about that made you invest in the wrong places if all these things will be added as a result of properly prioritizing the kingdom it will take away the need to worry about those things i love the way the king james version put it i didn't tell him to put it up there so it had to be the holy spirit because they put it up on the screen in the king james and i was going to mention it the king james put it this way take no thought for what you're gonna eat what you're gonna wear what you're gonna drink take no thought here you know what the holy ghost said to me when i read that the holy ghost said to me preacher the thoughts you take determine what's on your mind take no thought there it is thank you thank you production room there it is right there look at what it says take no thought for your life what you shall eat what you shall drink know what what you should put on your body take no thought in other words don't let your mind take possession worrying about how you gonna take care of yourself [Music] oh this is good take no thought don't possess certain thoughts don't hold on to certain thoughts y'all ain't talking to me see that's what commercials are due commercials are designed for you to take thoughts that you got to have it the mall is designed for you to take thoughts that you got to buy it i know y'all are quiet on me now the reason in many instances god gets what's left is because of the thoughts we took before we got to church [Applause] you took a thought and so you had to go buy a car you took a thought that it was time for you to buy a new car because you see everybody else with new cars you you took a thought god help me that you heard yes that babyface was gonna be at the jazz fest and you know you can't afford to go so you didn't give god the tithe today cause you go in the babyface it's the thought you took and i got nothing against babyface i love him whip appeal and everything else but i've got to get to the place where i know how to prioritize i know what thoughts to take so that now i don't leave babyface worrying about how i'm gonna pay my bills or i don't leave the avenues or the town center worrying about what i'm gonna do for my child and i'm in that position because of the thought i know what i'm talking about with all the money i've made over the years i've had seasons being broke as a joke i was living from paycheck to paycheck making more money than any of y'all could ever imagine but the reason i stayed broke when i should have been a millionaire is because of the thoughts that i was taking about what i had to wear what i had to drive the latest i had to have the thoughts you take will keep you broke [Music] what thoughts are you taking help me teach this holy ghost the thoughts we take and some of us are broke because of the thoughts we take thoughts we take who thoughts we take who i am is determined by what i have thoughts you take i can't tithe and so because i need to save thoughts you take i need a new outfit so jesus says if you don't take wrong thoughts you won't have wrong thinking worry now let me put it all in perspective um jesus says back in verse 19 look at what he says he says bragging rights don't store it for yourselves treasures on earth where things destroy them and where thieves break in and still jesus said don't here it is don't act like you gotta take care of yourself don't go about your life as if it's all in your hands and all up to you to make things happen for you no when i am a disciple i trust that god will take care of me which means i don't get caught up in laying things up for myself as if i have to take care of myself now let me help you this is not against investing this is against worrying say that again this is not against investing this is against worrying because if you do things god's way and according to god's word including how you give and manage your resources you won't get worried about having what you need for food and clothes and bills see a whole lot of y'all are listening to this but you ain't really believing this if if you really do think god's way if you really give god's way if you really tithe god's way if you really sow god's way if you really put god first if you really make discipleship the heart of your lifestyle god said i will bless you so much that you'll never have to worry again about your food about your clothes about your job about your children about your family you won't have to dip in your 401 you won't have to go for same-day loans god says i want to position you to stop worrying you may have concerns but you'll never have worry see concern leads to positive action worry acts like action can't change things the the bottom line between worry and concern is in how and where you position god in relationship to your earthly cares and concerns your challenges shut god out you don't worry make your problem bigger than god's power you don't worry but if you place god over your trouble and between you and your trouble you might have concern but then you'll turn that concern over to god in faith knowing that there is no situation no matter how bad it is that god cannot reverse i wish i had some people today that could just write in the comments god can reverse it i i wish i had some people that have had god reverse it just write in the comments god can reverse it i wish i had some of y'all that are in a pickle right now just write my faith in the comments reverse it god reverse it god come on put it right there in the comments reverse it god reverse it right now turn it around right now fix it right now but here is the reality while you write it i cannot have god reverse it if i don't put god first yes god said i put you in position that if you seek my kingdom first i may have concerns about stuff but i know god will reverse it i'll have concerns about health but god will reverse it i may have concerns about my children but god will reverse it i may have concerns about my debt but god will reverse it i may have concerns about my job but god will reverse it i will not worry because i know whatever they have that is going on that's trying to push me to my limit i understand that whatever they get me into god will get me out of and god will supply my needs why because what i know about god is greater than what i think about my situation see key first if you if you haven't given yet you order you ought to run over put that lower third up if you can you ought to run all the way and you ought to be given right now let me tell you something if you got a need you can't afford not to give this morning if y'all able to i don't know if you can but there it is thank you so much you got a need you can't afford not to give why your giving ain't so your need can get met your giving is showing god that you're putting god first your giving is showing god you will not bow at the altar of worry you ought to run over there right now i said god i'm giving my tithe i'm gonna sow an amazing seed i'm gonna get ready for stewardship demonstration because god my discipleship is putting you first try to say two things so far that i'll be done plan your priorities see ye first not only first ward off worry when you put god first here's the last one i love this don't have faith in doubt let me say that again stop having faith in doubt let me say that one more time stop having faith in doubt too many of us worship our doubts and have faith in our doubts yeah and right in the midst of this thing he says to them he said listen what's going on with y'all why are you worrying about these things why do you worry about your clothes and why do you worry about he says watch in verse 29 28 29 look at the look at the flowers of the field god takes care of them then he says if god takes down care of them in verse 30 if god closed the grass of the field which is here today and gone tomorrow how much more is he going to take care of you oh you of little faith here what i'm about to tell you i'm about done every decision you make concerning your life should be made in with and by faith give when you think you can't afford to give that's faith see we we express what we don't expect who teach boy let me say that one more time we express what we don't expect so we'll express yes god i'm gonna do it we'll express yes god your jehovah jireh we'll express yes god you're gonna take care of all my needs we'll express it but we won't expect it because you'll express it but then you won't live in such a way that it shows you've got the expectation to have what you you'll express if i speak to this mountain it'll get out of my way but after you express it you start climbing it you can't express that it'll get out of your way and then start climbing what you said would get out of your way because it shows you don't expect what you express so if you're going to express that god is first if you're going to express that god is jehovah jireh if you're going to express that i'm going to prioritize my discipleship you cannot express that and then not expect it you got to expect god to supernaturally pay some of your bills i know y'all ain't used to baptist preachers talking like this you got to expect that god's going to put that person on the phone that calls you about your bill and god's going to tell them your bill is cancelled you got to expect that god will do some supernatural stuff when you give out of faith jesus faith in god not not not faith in yourself not faith and doubt now what do i mean by that not done making decisions outside of faith here's what i mean by having faith in doubt it's trusting god to save you for eternity but doubting that this same god is able to provide for your basic needs preach boy the way to kill the faith you've got in doubt is to make your daily confession out of verse 32. god knows what i need and stop acting in ways that doubt that to not give god's way because of what you think you need to keep the money for is having faith in doubt for you to say well i got this to pay i got this to pay i got this to pay and i got this paying i got this pay so after i take care of all of that i'll give god what's left that's having faith in doubt what you want to do is say god i'm giving to you first now god i'm giving to you first and i don't have enough left to pay all of these things but by faith i'm expressing and expecting that by the due date you're going to provide a way to meet every one of these needs because i put you first see if you demonstrate that god can trust you hear what i'm about to tell you god says you will succeed in whatever you choose to do god will cause you all these things will be added unto you so instead of spending your money to get people to like you spend more time demonstrating to god that god can trust you instead of spending all of your money on bills that you got to get things you really couldn't afford to try to make yourself feel better about yourself operating your discipleship and feel good about yourself that god loves you enough to send his son to die for you and then trust god because listen when god can trust you god will show you how to succeed here's what i want you to do today i want you to make a deep commitment i am done having faith in doubt a decommitment now i want you to make a vow today not about your money about your heart that you will put god first why because god puts you first let me say it again i'm going to put god first in my giving in my living in my loving because god put me first y'all not getting it um the story is told of a teacher um um who who uh had six students she wanted to do a show and tell for the whole class and and it was a christian school and she said y'all bring something in that reminds you of god and so the first the first student brought in some bread and said um why did you bring in bread and he said because i hear my mama singing every day bread of heaven bread of heaven feed me till i want no more and this reminds me that god is my provider the second student brought in a pillow and and uh the teacher said why why are you bringing in a pillow and she said because the pillow reminds me that i can go to sleep at night and that even if i'm crying myself to sleep the pillar reminds me that god never sleeps nor slumbers and that god is my peace and so the teacher said all right first student said that god is a provider the second student said that god is my peace then the next student brought in an umbrella and said well why are you bringing in an umbrella he said because i know that an umbrella keeps the rain off of you and i've discovered from mommy and daddy that god is a protector that he'll protect you and cover you in the storms of life so the teacher said y'all doing good somebody brought in bread to say that god is a provider somebody else brought in a pillow to say that god is peace somebody else brought in an umbrella to say that god is a cover and protector but then one young lady brought in some bleach and the teacher said well now what in the world you gonna do with that she said well mama is teaching me how to wash clothes and she puts bleach in with the whites because sometimes my shirt is dirty when i come home from school in physical education and by the time it comes out the washer all the dirt that was on this shirt has been washed away because of the bleach she said and i've learned in this school that jesus is like your bleach that whatever dirt you got on you he will cleanse it up off you teacher said y'all are doing good somebody bought bread to say that god's a provider somebody brought a pillow to say that god is peace somebody brought an umbrella to say that god is a protector somebody brought bleach to say that god will wash all your sins away then somebody brought yes a power extension cord and she said well now what are you going to do with that what does this tell you about god and the young man said that every time i watch mommy and daddy plug this in and then plug something into it it gives power to stuff and i've learned that god is my power that god is my provider god is my peace god is my covering god is my washer god is my power but then little johnny little johnny walked up yes with his phone and he pulled a picture of his mama out and in the picture his mama had him in her arms and the teacher said now what in the world does a picture of you and your mama have to do with god she said he said to the teacher look a little closer and you'll see all the burns on my mama's arms and everybody got repulsed because the burns were very gross the vern burns were very big and so the teacher said that's a nice picture johnny but i don't understand what this has to do with god your friend brought in bread because god is a provider another one of your friends brought in a pillow because god is peace another one of your friends brought in an umbrella because god is your covering another of your friends brought in bleach because god washes sins away another one of your friends brought in a power strip because god is your power but what does a picture of you and your mama have to do with god he said oh you don't understand when i was a little boy our house count on fire and my mama ran out the house and then realized i was still in the house and mama didn't decide to protect herself she ran back in the house through all the fire and smoke and she ran till she found me she picked me up in her arms and ran out with the fire burning all over her arms he said to his teacher when i look at this picture i'm reminded of a god who put me first that even when i was burning up god thought enough of me to run back into my life to wrap me in his arms and to take that's what calvary is calvary is god running back in the house and taking all of your licks we used to sing a song in the whole church wounded for me there on the cross he was wounded for me gone my transgressions and now i am free all because jesus was wounded for me child of god you need to put god first because god put you first you ought to give liberally because god blesses you liberally you ought to give supernaturally because god takes care of you supernaturally seek ye first [Applause] the kingdom of god and god's righteousness and all these other things will be added it's amazing to me and i watched this morning and i did it with intention it didn't it didn't bother me but i was curious and i watched the numbers jeremy go up and down because people don't like when preachers teach on money because we think money is our business how is money your business when it's not your money [Music] the earth is the lawns well i'm not giving cause all that preacher's doing is stealing my money what does it have to do with you let god handle that your job ain't to police the preacher your job is to be a disciple i ain't given because i don't know what they doing with my money over in that church what does that have to do with you your job is to let god handle if there is mismanagement your job is to just practice your stewardship that's your job well i i can't wait till i can't wait till we have a church meeting so i can see the finances what does that have to do with your giving see and i know i'm stepping on some of your toes because there are those of you that think that and if you think that you are showing me you're not spiritual but wait a minute bishop in church business you say that all the time church is a business yeah but it ain't a business first it's kingdom first the black church has done a job making people hate giving some of it is the preacher's fault on one end because the preacher will get rich but then not teach the people the principles on how to get it so the preacher will walk around looking good and driving but won't teach the people how to do it a real preacher ain't trying to hide their money no i had to steal a dime i work for what i have and i'm not saying this because anybody has said that that's not that's not directed at anything i ain't heard nothing because i don't let nobody bring nothing to me so i haven't heard that i'm not saying that for that reason but i know the things the black church says [Music] we forget preachers work preachers save where the preacher messes up is not teaching the people how to be just as blessed [Music] because i got news for you preachers have money problems child please if y'all knew the story of my life and pastors life preachers have money problems because we spend but i've made a commitment to god god you've gotten me out of my own way and god you fixed and sometimes covered my stupidity in my saving i'm changing that i'm putting you first i'm giving i don't need a new suit if i get a new car it's going to be because the monthly payment is lowered i don't i don't want a bentley i don't even need a bentley i don't care about a bentley daddy i ain't into that i just want a car that's nice [Music] and affordable i don't need new suits i'm losing weight i can put back on some of the old ones and get my pants fixed because jocelyn say that the cuffs are out of style i'm just going to get the pants fixed i don't need no suits why spend the money and then can't give huh why drive a bentley because i deserve it maybe i do maybe i do maybe i do but will it glorify god it can but not at the expense of putting god first [Music] and i say the same thing to you if you put god first [Music] the blessings of the lord maketh us rich and he addeth no sorrow to it in other words when god blesses you stop feeling sorry about it when god blesses you stop trying to act like you got to hide it when god blesses you stop like stop acting like you can't tell folk how god has blessed you what business is it upstairs if you've done it god's way i challenge you this morning put the giving back on the screen for me i challenge you what does your giving say about the priority of god what does your giving say about where you have placed god saying about a budget god god said don't go that go go that direction in this teaching because people's giving problem is not about their money it's about their heart [Music] he said challenge their heart challenge their discipleship challenge the way they think about things and he said tell the people son if they will simply listen to you if they will trust my word in your mouth and if they will start to act in obedience to what you're teaching tell them everything they've been worried about i'm going to add unto them even if you've given this morning you ought to run back over and so again i'm not and i'm not putting no number i'm not saying 50 of y'all go so this and 30 of y'all don't show this this is about your heart this is about your heart this is about putting god first stewardship demonstration sunday is coming half million dollars i'm telling you i'm not just expressing it i'm expecting it because god said i'm going to bless the people of god i'm going to bless this church god said i'm going to make this church more financially healthy than it's ever been here is where y'all miss your shout i said it in the beginning of the sermon the church is financially healthy when the people are financially healthy so if i'm prophesying that the church is going to be more financially healthy than it's ever been that means you're going to be more financially healthy than you've ever been see that's where you miss your shout what i'm really declaring is god is about to position you when you operate in discipleship you're going to be more financially healthy than you've ever been in your life [Music] give god's way live god's way love god's way god said all these other things will be added unto you and so god as we begin this journey of stewardship discipleship give me the boldness it takes thank you that you have released me from needing the affirmation of people to teach your word give me the boldness to teach what you have given me give me o god then the obedience to live what i teach i declare my family is financially healthy i declare my children who are now grown are financially healthy i declare and speak the blessings of the lord i call their names this morning jocelyn elizabeth mckissick janae nicole mckissick joshua paul mckissick i declare financial health upon them that they will be in position to live life according to your word that they will be examples for their generation that when we live even as disciples at our age you supply i call it done bless oh god my wife right now make oh god all of her dreams come true every vision you have given unto her god make it come true right now in the name of jesus and i speak over every family in this church that financial health is coming to every address it's coming to every home i declare bills are paid i declare savings accounts are increasing i declare investments are making a profit and because we are financially healthy your church will be financially healthy i call the refi of the mortgage of this church done i called every bill paid i called every vision financed i call everything we need done god property is ours i declare it right now in the name of jesus i declare it amen hey if you don't know jesus christ as your savior who the holy ghost is in here today if you've never confessed jesus as lord if you've never opened up your mouth and said jesus i believe you died for my sins and that god raised you from the dead the bible declares thou shalt be saved or this morning i'm saved bishop but i don't have church and i need this kind of word in my life but i don't live near your church oh that's okay you don't need to live near my church it's called you can go ahead and put it up yeah it's called the bethel experience everywhere that means no matter where you live in the world i can be your bishop we can be your pastors you can be a part of this church we've begun an amazing new ministry they're kicking off today i hope you watched uh the interview this past week with the demons and the aim ministry it's it's acclimating introducing and motivating acclimating introducing and motivating they've got a wonderful team there it is right there that's their logo i love that that's their logo right there that huh acclimation information motivation there it is acclimation information motivation that's our new discipleship ministry that's the new name the demons are the leaders they've got a whole team so this morning if you text tbc decision to five four two four four put that back up on that thing yeah tbc decision to five four two four four you're going to hear from the demons then at a certain point you're going to hear from pastor reginald caldwell the congregational care pastor but the demons are gonna be reaching out to you to tell you what your next move is to be a part of the aim ministry of this church i hope you do that i hope you have given
