my name is nathan brake i am 26 years old and i'm from sydney i grew up in a little old town called guildford in the western suburbs of sydney it was great growing up i had good friends i had a great family but i always wanted something different i always felt like i didn't exactly fit in especially for my sexuality which at the time i had no comprehension about my partner mitchell and i've been together for six years he's here supporting me today for my blind audition he really cares about me he looks after me i don't know what i would actually do or where i would be if i didn't have that support to come home to tell me about mitch how did you get how did you two meet it's funny story i was running a karaoke show and um i was up there singing a song and he had walked in and it sounds super lame but we made eye contact and i just had to go and have a chat to him after that so amazing it just kind of kind of happened from there love at first sight yeah i would say [Music] when the same-sex marriage results were being announced it was a really emotional day for the first time in my life like cried with happiness it's something that um just helped my community feel that acceptance and i walk out on the stage today with a huge sense of pride mitchell has definitely helped me love myself and i don't think i'd be able to walk out on this stage today if it wasn't for him [Music] i don't like the way he's looking at you oh yeah i'm starting to think you want him too am i crazy have i lost her even though i know you love me i can't help it well i turn my cheek music up and i'm puffing my chest i'm turning red in the face you can call me upset it's [Applause] the [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] is [Music] still oh my god hey thank you that seriously was like my favorite performance we've had here thank you so much favorite before i wonder why just saying i know that was a nick jonas song i'm very hip i'm down with the kids the brother the ex-girlfriend the plot thickens who needs corn flour [Applause] very risky move you know i think it's it's risky to play the brother brother songs um friend songs x's songs but i would say that um you did it justice thank you for me i feel like your your full voice is actually quite stronger right now than your falsetto it might be the nerves but that's something to work on and i would love to work with you on that and and build that up to be as strong because at the end you just blew us away um and that's right when kelly turned which i wish he didn't but that was really impressive i'm into it first of all yeah i was just sitting up here just dancing around the bus and then you said still get jealous i was like okay i also got like caught up in the whole mix of it i was like i felt like i was like listening to the radio i was jamming to your voice which to me sounds like a voice that will sell all over australia thank you all over the world that's what you want to hear if you come to team kelly we will continue to build that lovely voice of yours because how you demanded the presence in this room speaks so much about you as a performer that's half the battle to be honest you know what i mean when you can come on stage you give a great show we're all getting into it but then you got the pipes to back it up thank you all right who are you going to pick hang on a minute i haven't even picked i need to i need to talk to you we need to talk i want to be able to coach brilliant voices like yours you you've already got the natural talent i want to be able to expand that natural talent and to be able to find the right songs of course but like your tone your presence you came out and you had you had that swag you were strong you were happy you're meant to be up there and i want to make this happen for you i feel like it's time look i'm not gonna i'm not gonna repeat what they said but all i can say is i think we should call nick and see what he thinks you should go with [Applause] because it's okay i'll call nick too [Applause] whoever gets there first hang on one second oh hang on it's nope nope oh is it ringing i'm sorry i think i'm on the phone [Applause] all right uh it's really him nick so nate my friend nathan here oh my god what he just did an amazing rendition of her song and i'm just trying to get him to realize that he needs to be on team joe and not on team delta or team kelly okay man coming through he says he keep beeping him in i stopped i guess you should definitely join team joe thanks man your advice more so than most people that i talk to so i think it's a pretty clear choice you heard it here first people thank you he says he says go with team joe but that's i don't know i mean when you give it a directive yeah by the guy whose song he just sang i don't think you can say no i thought the facetime was pretty cool then [Laughter] all right i i made a decision [Music] do not be swayed do not be swayed by you i've also made another decision that's separate to choosing a coach today could i actually bring mitchell out is that possible who's mitchell mitchell's my partner oh oh gorgeous hi mitchell hi mitchell hi how are you uh good he's very he was not a little nervous i'm sorry um so i just wanted to bring you out here because we've had a beautiful six years together and i i'm really nervous but um you're nervous and um been a constant support for me over these last six years so i just wanted to ask you will you marry me yes oh [Applause] congratulations congratulations oh my god congratulations wow amazing congratulations i love an unexpected proposal that's amazing all right okay now i i promise you no matter what decision you make keep my name on the wedding because what i will do is perform when love takes over at your wedding are you serious i'm very serious that is amazing i'm very serious if you give me a mic and a guitar honey we will make that thing happen you can have whatever you want at my way i would be honored to sing at your wedding thank you so much honored thank you congratulations all right well very overwhelmed with emotion at the moment but i respect every single one of you and it would be an absolute privilege to have any of you as my coach but i think i'm going to have to go with [Music] delta oh [Applause] all right let's go thank you so much [Applause] what a great curveball i loved that yes i mean i didn't love it because i wanted him i thought he was amazing he's awesome i i thought he's gonna go with kelly the facetime didn't even work yo i'm singing at his wedding it's going to be really special i got you crush it all right bye honey bye-bye see you soon bye-bye bye bye what a day oh my god what a day oh my god i am on cloud nine right now i am literally so happy i can't wait to steal him it's not going anywhere are you giving out crisps gluten-free australia's changing gluten-free chris gay marriage turn on whatever next when you go out there you just have the best time of year thank you bless you it's been a gift to listen to you singing all these years thank you and don't forget how happy you've made us i love you it's really nice isn't it to see their families and the support that they're getting sure you need that don't of course you do family support is very important if your family don't like you then you've had it yeah very very proud of you and how far you've come don't make me cry my name is imano smith i'm 29 years old and i'm from south london lewisham [Music] i'm currently living with my mum and my little sister obviously getting a bit older i need to move out kind of thing but she enjoys me being there well hopefully [Music] i'm a part-time motivational speaker we go to communities that you know are disadvantaged and we go and speak to them and inspire them that listen whatever it is that you want to achieve you can do it no dream is above you so long as you believe in yourselves because i love to talk so it's like i can never shut up although i live in the uk now i was born in africa it's a place that is rich with music that has you know influenced the way i sing and you know the kind of music that i do music has helped me through a lot of seasons in my life it's been singing that has really been a way of channeling my pain out growing up in africa wasn't easy all that kind of poverty and so many things my mom came to this country when i was eight years old to create a better life for me to come and join her later on as a single mother it wasn't easy leaving him but then i had to think about his future which is what brought me here i came to join that finally when i was 13 and um we faced our challenges this is what we came here for we came here for love and i know you have you have a bright future you have far to go thank you we are hoping for the best yeah man honestly like cheering up for you my mom she's a strong woman and i'm here because of her you happy should we get you out yeah okay when i walk out on that stage i'm gonna give everything that i have like my life totally depended on it [Music] i want you to [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] play [Music] like this [Music] hallelujah [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] it's [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] today [Applause] yes [Music] what's your name my name is obama smith where are you from emmanuel i'm originally from ghana and i'm i live in lucian and i'm so excited this is a dream who should come here with um i've got my mom and my sister over there like what what made you want to come on this show this year where were you at last year um honestly i've been through a lot about just 15 years ago my mom and my sister used to slim sleep on the same bed in one small room so for me to even come here and get the opportunity to sing before you guys and to get all these chair turns [Music] we come from the same place we were growing up in the projects in the ghetto there was like six of us slept on the floor and then when i finally got a chance to move my mom to a big old house for the first two years we slept on the floor together because we're so used to being around and up under each other that you know that bond that you have with your family that's how you're able to get up yeah that's how you're able to like to get knocked down on the floor and get back up [Music] [Applause] and i use the metaphor of like not being able to smell the roses because i'm clogged what you are for me is antihistamine bro like you open up my nasal passages i can smell now hallelujah [Music] [Applause] so i was like when i was listening to you i thought wow because you have a beautiful voice big beautiful voice so you know i had to press my button to show respect to you because i think you're a wonderful wonderful singer that is my absolute favorite song my absolute favorite song to sing it was so beautiful you sang the clouds out of heaven with that song you know that that is what made me press my butt and i've also been in your position you know being in a contest like this and i will hope to be able to help you do the same through my experience you could just really tell how much this means to you you sung that with every single part of your body you deserve the four chair turn you really did the whole room just came alive when you got to them last notes and you were going for it and i think it would be a great partnership together because it'd be amazing i can help you with your performances and your singing and you can take me to church yes so that would be amazing but it's time for you to decide who you want to be your coach oh lord go ahead [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right [Music] because of what i've been through and where i'm trying to go [Music] i'm actually going to go for [Applause] [Music] [Applause] will [Music] congratulations you're amazing with yourself see you next round [Music] thank you so much oh no thank you thank you to you i was not expecting i thought he was going to choose you i was like tom i turned two of the places i have to turn yeah you can not not turn with the bugs like that wow ah well i i just can't believe it honestly i i can't believe it luckily for 17 year old sam holly man a push is never far away i came back from school about three months ago to find out that my mother had signed me up for the voice she's very if not slightly overly enthusiastic about my career in music [Music] on my 15th birthday my mom took me to a michael buble concert during an interval she decided to go up to him and call him down from the stage if i could have a dream it would be to have every single person up here except for you crazy woman there after a short and slightly embarrassing conversation her son turned 15 a couple days ago that's very sweet he's hiding he's hiding my mom manages to get me on stage with michael buble and you want to sing come up here for a moment come up here for a moment because i remember being your age bring them up over the bar here incredible after the event it sort of went viral as it were on youtube got up to about two million views or something like that someone's got a message for you hey it's michael book like sam and it wasn't long ago in birmingham i remember you coming on stage at me saying mom sam can sing good luck kid lucky oh wow [Music] it's a little bit funny i don't have much money but boy if i did [Music] [Music] excuse me forgetting [Music] [Music] [Music] and you can tell anybody this is your song and you may be quiet [Music] now you're in there [Applause] [Music] [Applause] hi hi what's your name sam harliman how old are you sir i'm 17. 17. you're exceptional talent for 17 year olds thank you you really really do the reason why i didn't turn around is i like slightly heard music theater in there just a little bit too proper for for what i could add to a little bit more grit and rock and roll there's pronouncing the words and then over pronouncing the words a little bit i hope you don't mind i hope you don't i hope you don't mind and i hope you don't just put in a little bit of rasp a little bit [Applause] get away and really work on your voice and sing as much as you can and perform as much as you can and i think that'll really help sam you have a lovely sounding voice thank you so good luck and god bless thank you thank [Applause] you waiting in the wings is our next artist and he's a man on a mission what the world needs is more soul music i'm on a mission to save seoul and bring it back hey i'm ben cecali i'm 24 and i'm from griffith new south wales i grew up in church listening to old gospel music and i kind of wanted to venture out and see what kind of old school music there was and and got stuck in the 60s 70s era and loved it ever since yeah soul music has always spoken to me when i've needed it sometimes songs come into your life when you need them to the song i'm singing did that for me i'm singing a change is going to come by sam cooke the lyrics to this song is all about change i've been grinding away gigging just doing my job this chance could take my music to the world i'm here to put old-school soul back on the table [Music] i was born by the river oh it's been it's wrong long time to come in come on baby that i know jane's gonna [Music] yes it come press that button [Applause] oh [Applause] oh yes if we hope change is gonna [Applause] come welcome to team joe baby you you are the voice i've been looking for you're the last person in team joe what is your name what's your name uh my name is ben i'm 24 and i'm from griffith news of wales another question ben where did all of that that soul the grit like it's just like and and joe was standing on his chair i was like turn this chair around i just i was so excited to see you because you had this whole place just up and crazy for you where are you from i just told you no but i'm saying so watch your little smarty pants joe he's now you got it you got a smarty pad i love it sorry uh like you're out of this world that's what i meant see you gotta listen son you gotta listen what's your what's your background in music um church perfect that's where you there you go wow sam cook is a hero of mine so you are with the right coach my friend i'm gonna have a lot of fun did you know that sam cook wrote that song after hearing bob dylan that's actually an interesting fact oh samuel heard dylan and he's like there's this dude singing these songs man and he locked himself in the studio overnight and wrote that song wow i'm sorry i didn't turn for you you were astounding sorry man but i'm kind of holding out for something and i don't know what it is and i really hope i'm not going to be disappointed because this season there is literally i've never heard voices like this it's true i didn't know australia could possibly turn out so many fine voices yeah it is absolutely last year was good this year you have got stiff competition i'm telling you don't you worry about them come on man [Music] congratulations so you're done i'm done i'm done [Applause] congratulations man yeah delta he knows he's good you know i mean like he knows he's good it's a good thing yeah yeah it's a good thing [Music] he's a superstar my name is aiden califury i'm 17 and i'm from melbourne you may recognize me from last season on the voice i got to the blind auditions i was a little nervous my heart was like in my throat i was you know i was totally freaked out [Music] so i didn't turn a chair [Applause] delta is the one of the four coaches that regretted not turning last year she heard something in my voice sometimes you get trigger shy and i got a little bit trigger-shy on that one i really like your energy you've got a great vibe and um i should have turned i was really enjoying that so sorry on that one it's all good thank you so much i was i was happy with that comment after the blind audition i was bummed out for a few days but it was definitely like someone you know a little fire inside me i'm coming back with a bit of a bang i'm singing the biggest song of last year this song is actually in a different language which i do not speak i feel like you have to go big or go home come on [Applause] [Music] way make me wanna save every moment here foreign [Applause] [Applause] foreign [Applause] wow wow no no spanish at all hey hey me too we'll work great together um what's your name i'm aiden califury i'm 17 and i'm from melbourne we you were here last year right i was here last year yeah well you're new to me because i'm the new guy yeah you look like me when you're 17 so we should work together first of all i say you know the fact that you came back shows me that you're willing to put in the effort and really take my advice to be able to go to that next platform and hopefully win this thing so dang joe you already put your please like you know take my advice i'm happy you cleaned that up so quickly darling [Laughter] i do remember being absolutely so disappointed that i didn't turn for you i believe in timing and your moment right now is right i think as a coach who's had a couple of artists who have won these last two seasons i feel there's and then there's the reason is because i feel like my one-on-one time with you is where i specialize in so i want you to be on my team i'm so glad we hit our buttons early because well i'm not happy they hit their buttons but i'm happy i hit my buttons early because what you do reminds me of myself i can see that i can work with you perfectly in a way where i can help you hone that craft you already showed me that you can learn music even though you don't speak the same language and that's so impressive and you demanded the audience to get on their feet and i think you would be absolutely perfect for team joe and i could really uh help you thanks man i think that we need to see what you can do beyond that song because that song is one of the biggest songs of the year five billion hits on youtube yeah now i think for me as a coach i want to find out who you are yeah beyond despacito yeah i think i know what that means though so if that means take it slow so when you make a choice of coach take it slow despacito i have a question so what do you want to get out of being here just get better you know find out where i can improve because you know obviously there's definitely some areas where i can't improve so that's the kind of artist i like to work with and the fact that you are here in the second time you like look y'all go see me i think that speaks so much about you so i believe in you as an artist i think you're so talented thank you so much this is where our egos get battered and bruised this is like this is where you have the most fun watching us suffer you know what i mean your decision is yours my friends [Applause] [Music] delta i think that i owe you a lot because you were the person that wanted to turn for me and you heard something when the other coaches didn't and i'm 100 grateful for that so come with me let's finish this off there is a butt following that speech [Applause] yeah buddy you made a good decision my name is taylor thomas i'm 23 years old and i'm from melbourne i love you know alfreda's and classical singing and singing as a disney princess tonight i will be singing let it go from the disney film frozen i was lucky enough to in 2015 land a lead role at disneyland hong kong as a vocalist i worked with characters such as rapunzel from tangled and elsa from frozen i got to know the characters very well when i sing i feel a lot i think that's that's the best way to put it because i could be reaching out to someone out there that's listening you know i could be reaching out to that little girl on the first row or you know the grandma in the third row if even one chair turned for me tonight i don't know i'm i'm concerned that i may just end up as an emotional ball on the floor [Music] and it looks like i'm the queen come on the wind is howling like this swirling storm inside wow couldn't keep it in heaven knows i've tried it's time to see what i can do to test the limits and break through no right no wrong no rules for me [Music] [Applause] you'll never see me [Applause] the cold never bothered me anyway hello hi who are you my name is taylor i'm 23 years old and i'm from melbourne well you were doing pretty well till delta turned and you sort of went a bit wobbly it's like princess meeting princess like a gorgeous disney moment i feel like there should be like cgi birds on your shoulders i'm gonna have to tell disney about you well i've um i've actually had the fortunate opportunity um to work for disney oh yeah um i've i've recently come back from hong kong disneyland where i worked as a vocalist for two you're kind of like the years princess like amy adams a little bit so did you have to dress up every day in crazy costumes i was very fortunate to wear lots of costumes and beautiful wigs sounds like my life yeah the obvious thing would be to choose delta but maybe you should choose me you don't understand how many times i've played frozen god help my poor future kid who's going to have to watch this 100 000 times in her lifetime i feel bad for my family that song was beautiful and you came out here and you sang it with all your heart and soul and i'm so glad i got to turn around and ask you please be on my team dizzy princess well you've got a princess and you've got a prince at the end haven't you got a disney connection just a little [Laughter] yes i know all about that sounded weird i know about disney princesses i know i will say that at team joe we respect our disney princesses i would love to work with you i think you're a fantastic vocalist thank you so much i would love to take you away from doing songs like that and and show off your voice even more yeah can we do more of those songs do you want to build a snowman delta just wants to do the whole movie with you i think so i literally think she's gonna like in like two seconds she's gonna start up another song yeah meanwhile i know all the evil parts of the movie you look like you had so much fun up there i did my goal for for the whole thing was to really take down the wall and that's hard for me to do you know i feel like it's so easy to become a character but it's even harder to be vulnerable and be yourself and that's what i really wanted to do getting up here and i i feel like i did it thank you so much for coming and gracing our stage today and now you have a very important decision to make and you got a four-chair turn wow i can't believe it [Applause] i have to go with delta yeah [Applause] my gut's telling me that this next one is gonna be explosive high volume awesomeness crazy vocal gymnastics amazing magical larynx coming from the esophagus lyrics yeah like your larynx that's like larynx lyrinic no luck it's the larynx i said it the latin way okay coaches here we go please oh we going my name is cedric neal i'm 43 years old and i'm from brighton and i'm a musical theater actor i'm originally from dallas texas but i moved to the uk 2014 with my wonderful husband mitchell and our dog brooklyn my brother and we live in a windmill who the uk is home now and we love it here i'm from a singing family and i've been singing since i was four years old my siblings and i would sing at church it was a way to get attention without getting in trouble and then in college i discovered musical theater and my life hasn't been the same since good luck sweetie very proud thank you get out there and dazzle them i want a real kiss today's blind auditions are totally different from any other audition in my life [Music] in any other audition i'm going in to represent what the director wants here it's totally cedric i'm gonna go out there and do something that i've been preparing for my entire life standing by here how that energy is just like wild i have the people who i love the most in the wings supporting me i cannot afford to mess up this shot let's get you out yeah okay now is the time for me to just go out there and represent myself i'm gonna go for it people keep on [Applause] [Music] [Applause] bye [Applause] us [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] till [Applause] reach my highest [Applause] [Applause] thank you [Music] what's your name i am cedric neal where are you from originally from dallas texas but i live in brighton now you know you know how i knew you was from america how you know you you didn't see that what's that text was hot what you saying in church oh just saying church since i was four years ago oh you said you don't know that i just had to confirm that oh yeah you better sing like you ain't got no sense and i know you know what that means but look chad you want me right on that you got two shoes today oh thank you so much thank you when somebody throw that shoe that means you got soul [Music] how old are you i am 43 years old whoa we're the same age yeah yeah yeah sure you've been singing a long time then i have been singing um all my life um we were raised in church and then um went to the performing arts high school in dallas which led to me moving to new york and doing two broadway shows um so what brought you to england my wonderful husband got a promotion on his job so he moved over here it was meant for me to be here yeah yeah well i'm glad you're kidding oh it's really something when you take a song like that because i mean stevie you know i mean the phrasing that he does is tremendous and then still make it your own it's great thank you and i loved it thank you thank you and tom would know because you you sung with stevie yeah yes db and we did it you know just i just brushed that off yeah what a song with stevie you were you unique singer and you ripped it with that song so there's plenty of room on my team that was fantastic it really is you completely owned it you know i would love you to be on my team because i know that if i've got you man i feel like i'm gonna win the voice 2019 that's how i feel you did your version of that it takes a very eclectic skill creative skilled individual to come up and heal take a stevie wonder song and make it yours thank you thank you thank you [Applause] [Music] i know a skilled vocalist when i see one that's why as soon as you open your mouth i had to hit the button but you deserve to be on a show like this because we need voices like this out here today and that's why i'm grateful that the voice is here today for voices like yours to be heard so there you go the ball is in your court well i am a thank you for pressing your button ollie thank you for pressing your buddy evangelist thank you for pressing it button i'm gonna go with sir tom jones no i gave you all my shoes now even though i gave you all my shoes thank you congratulations wow i'm the youngest person to audition for the voice australia ever i'm lea abby saab i'm 14 and i'm from sydney i'm quiet in everyday life but when i sing i'm a completely different person [Music] here supporting me today are my mother helen and my father eddie my parents mean the world to me they've been with me throughout the entire journey like they've taken me to lessons for the past 11 years and they spend so much time on me and i want to make them proud we gotta you know try to help them to explode that talent he got leo worked very hard and he deserved to be in a voice and it's a dream for him to become true at school i've been called names and [Music] just picked on when i perform at school sometimes people i will send an audience and laugh i'm mainly bullied because i'm different i sing i like have long hair i'm not like what a normal guy looks like this is my chance to be judged purely on my singing wow i'm changing [Applause] but i found out oh [Music] come on [Applause] [Applause] oh [Music] my god are you kidding me was incredible i'm like i'm like blown away right now i literally got goosebumps i was like you're just in it thank you so much congratulations because you nailed that performance hi i wasn't sure at first whether you're a man or a woman well i'm not sure about that myself either so you know but um i love the kind of androgynous you know it was lots of different shades who are you i'm leah abby i'm 14 years old from australia what 14 yeah wow i felt like it was such a big voice i mean i'm such a big voice okay now now i have to be honest with you yeah for me the reason i didn't turn my chair it was so much at one time i feel like you're still learning how to really put a song together and where to add runs and do big notes and you know you're constructing a song you're still learning that's why we're here you know the trick is like you don't get to see you but you hear the voice and i i can't speak for everyone but you're thinking what can i do with this person okay where can i take this person and i know that i could really teach you some interesting things you know 14 wow with all my experience we could do some interesting things thank you so much tell me a little bit about your singing life i mean this is something you do a lot yeah i've been singing since i was three and um yeah i used to get bullied at school and i would sing at school assemblies and um uh people would like laugh in the audience and stuff like that people would laugh in the audience yeah oh who's laughing now yeah yeah people's life now thank you so much i mean it is a gift to be able to sing like that my friend i can just tell you i went to school a long time ago right and in the 70s people didn't hold back i know all about that stuff you know and look at me today thank you i gotta say i was really impressed i had no idea you'd be as young as you are thank you 14. i can relate i started around your age so there's a lot of people a lot of fingers being pointed and people are not going to understand right away when you come out and sing with such a powerful tone and of course they're going to be jealous i'm just going to say something to you like because you're still at school right do you still go through this at school sometimes yeah sometimes you and i are going to march to school together even better just don't go back you're in music now we can get you home shootering but i'll hire delta to tute you and i'll be your coach perfect you're on national television right now and you just kick butt like you should be very proud clearly 14 this is a really big moment for you it really and it's the start of something really special either of us will take care of you and make sure that you shine like the light you have inside of you and it really shines bright okay you're obviously australian right yeah and you know that delta's the princess of australia you know that yeah you also know i'm the queen of england um but more importantly i'm famous all over the world george well i've been around a long time you know what i'd say to that my friend is that i'm really proud australian and i'm really proud of what i've been so blessed to get to do here and it is an honor to sing no matter where you sing in the world it really is i love you you're amazing season's yours honey before i choose anyone um i just like to say it's an honor to be like here on the stage performing in front of people that i've idolized all my life and um i think the person i'm going to pick today is george thank you oh nice to see you [Applause] my mum loves you i love you because i'm beautiful you're gonna be great i love you too you're gonna be awesome don't ever let anybody tell you where you are thank you for not hear me oh thank you you're gonna have a lot of fun great job congratulations thank you i thought it was naughty i know it's naughty i didn't i didn't think anything like that i didn't mean to all right man do we need a boxing ring in here i'm gonna be on you today you think that was bad i can't there may be trouble ahead hey beautiful how beautiful i i promise i'll kick his ass i'm the pitch witch sorry i don't know a bit hard there but i really thought i was going to lose him i mean i've lost quite a lot of people to dealt her so i thought i had to kind of give it that extra you okay yeah because that kind of stuff makes me upset it's okay okay okay i feel like it could have gone either way and i think that's the thing like she's very loved here and um i'm working on it when you're competing against people you know sometimes you have to say stuff that offends other people the trick is not to kind of take it personally it's not a personal attack it's just like oh that hurt right next time i'm going to say something you don't like [Music] my name is brock ashby i'm 24 and i live in sydney i'm a body recomposition coach that helps people transform their body [Music] coaching to me is more than just telling other people what to do but it's actually living it myself if i'm gonna lead people to a place where they're transforming their body and changing their life i have to be doing the same when you start to respect your body then your body actually respects you back and you start to have a more positive outlook on life you start to have a better quality of life and that's really what everyone's looking for strong to me means having the ability to push through when it gets hard one night when i was 12 years old dad turned the tv off and said that mum's got pancreatic cancer and that she has three months to live mum's such a massive part of my life to hear that was just devastating i can still remember it i was holding my mother's hand with my brother my father by my side that was the day that i saw my mum breathe the last breath music became a big part of my life all these emotions that were built up from losing my mum i would just put on paper and i would sing it and i would put chords to it it just helped free me supporting me i have my dad freedom and i also have my brother tiffany when brock lost his mum brock turned to music so from that time on i could see that he has a talent for music to be absolutely absolutely proud [Music] i've been roaming around always looking down and all i see [Applause] painting faces filled in places i can't reach you know that i could use somebody off in the night while you live it up come off to sleep so nice beautiful [Music] [Music] [Applause] notice [Applause] [Applause] oh of course i didn't turn around you know what delta is probably better that way you have too many good-looking guys already on your team it's fine there's always room for another good-looking guy on my team hello who are you my name is brock i'm 24 and i'm from sydney in a word that was quality really good uh beautiful song beautiful singing you were consistent all the way through it was difficult not to turn true to me sometimes voices are just great and yours was great thank you i don't want to make you scared but your veins are about to pop out of your mouth um i thought you know i i waited to the last minute because there was moments in the song that i felt like could have been better but ultimately like you pulled through at the end there for me and i was actually like you had me so i was like do i do i not and you you made me hit my button you demanded it and that's what it's about appreciate it man thank you there's nothing i can say right now i'm just utterly disappointed the only reason i'm in term is i've got some really strong men in my team right now is strong how strong i mean i kind of want to know more about you who are you tell us about you know your singing life i started singing when i was 12 years old yeah and um the first time i sang the first song i wrote the first time i publicly performed was at my mother's funeral so you know it's a it's a special thing to sing for me and it's an expression um she never knew that i i sang i played sport all the way through and then as she passed away i'd urge to pick up the guitar sing write and perform so that's why i'm here that's really cool oh god i'm sitting up here on waterworks no um ah dang this is not supposed to happen today ah it's all right it's all right all right ah crap ah take your time listen i i get it um but i understand and when you say like just when you started to sing it was the moment that i started to become a mother i lost mine literally two and a half weeks after i had my son i lost my mom so like embracing something new in your life like singing that's such a beautiful gift to be able to share with the world you know what i mean so i've seen the whole world myself you know as as an artist been able to travel been able to perform and share songs and write songs and you just feel like you want to be in that place and i feel like of course we've connected we deserve to work together we really really do i feel like we would bring out the best in each other on this journey it's quite hard to follow that i mean sorry i'm sorry no no no you know what i'm a kind of heart and soul guy i'm all about emotion connecting with people um so yeah you just have to choose now delta maybe you should stand next to him kelly and help him make the decision [Applause] i really meant what i said and i'm i really am ready to take that journey with you as your coach so mine that's why but i want it more we've got amazing coaches you gotta go what's in your heart i'm gonna have to go with kelly i can't wait to share stuff with you this is going to be so fun me too man pleasure vodka too good luck here's your story good luck good luck we'll be cheering you on that is a bit very interesting parallel that's so weird that's why when he said that i was like oh gosh love you son well done [Music] my mum seems like that we always say stop singing from your nose mum you don't talk to your mother like daddy no of course not tommy i met your mother she came up and give me a kiss you did meet my mum last year that's why she's banned this year [Applause] okay here we go [Music] big big day you're going the wrong way i'm stefan oh am i yes this is so weird i'm stefan mahendra i'm 23 years old i'm from london and i'm a singer i first started singing when i was 18 years old before that i was playing piano i'm really into music as a kid the first cd i was ever bought was 50 cents get rich or die trying i managed to convince my mum to buy it for me she didn't actually know what the songs were about or anything which is probably a good thing i currently play in a band called brown sugar we do a lot of weddings and bars and pubs weddings are fun and everything but i reckon this kind of gig man takes it to the next level it feels really weird to see stefan perform like when i'm not playing with him because i'm i'm so used to being like sorry i'm so used to being behind stefan it's really important for me that the band are here as friends and completely got my back good to go yeah all right have fun the voice could really change my life it would mean everything if any coach turned for me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] wow [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] baby [Applause] [Music] [Music] oh [Applause] ah [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Applause] that was that that was amazing thank you very much what's your name where are you from i'm stefan mahendra i'm from south east london nice and how old are you i'm 23. how long have you been seeing i started singing when i was about 18. what for real i played the piano so that's how i started and you play the piano who have you coming with today i actually came with my band [Applause] what's the band's name we call brown sugar yo brown sugar come out on facebook no we haven't got instagram yet we've got no social media we're so glad whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa how long have you guys been together like a day here he is oh oh i get it you guys are underground so look that's awesome that means like whoever you pick we could try to finagle the band to be your band on one of the shows that'll be [Applause] sick oh my god this is amazing so ladies and gentlemen this is the first of the voice where somebody comes out and auditions and then let you know that his band is in the side not his family but the band then the band's gonna rock and they don't even have twitter instagram you guys can't even follow them after this ladies and gentlemen make some noise for brown sugar but i remember when i remember i remember when i lost my [Music] mind [Music] [Applause] and it wasn't much i didn't know he knew [Music] probably [Music] [Applause] [Music] yo you guys are crazy fresh so have you seen this tradition before hello are you nice to meet you so usually what's supposed to happen is if a singer is singing someone in the audience that's blown away would throw the shoe near the stage not honestly holly threw it on it he could have hit someone ladies and gentlemen brown sugar so mr oyo or mrs production is your potential coach jennifer what kind of other singers do you have on your team i don't have anyone like you sweetheart by any means i have been waiting for a male vocalist and you have blown me away okay i think you're far beyond what i could have imagined in every way um your range your depth and your commitment to music i can see it like all right here and you have truly blown me away thank i'm going to tell you this straight i'm on a uk tour this year right i'm saying my words right here on this stage if you do what i tell you to do and i coach you through this show i will have you and brown sugar support me oh he just played a trump card but when i get done you won't need to be on his tour because you'll be headlining your own [Applause] for ollie it would be an experiment because he ain't never won nothing but j-hope i love you ollie but this is a battle baby i played my cards my cards are out i'm so humbled that even any of you guys turn around for me [Music] um [Applause] [Applause] is [Applause] honeymoons [Applause] [Music] he doesn't just offer a tour to everybody in fact i've never seen them offer it to anyone yeah that's pretty mental yo olly you fought for that one i did you're gonna come on tour with me if you listen to everything i do you wash all my dishes bring me all my freaking french fries fried and vegan oil right vegan oil you did that you came out the gate on me damn that was good [Music] hi my name is lacey madison i'm 17 years old i am a high school student and i'm building my empire from my garage in western sydney mind and it's not just about the work that i put in but it's about how i carry myself and how i walk out the door every single morning through the lace medicine empire i want to show people that there is no excuse not to chase your dreams you live one life and what is the point of living that life if you're not chasing something that you know that you're born for that's why i'm here it's another step it's another way to show that i'm working towards my dreams i'm ambitious i'm not going to give up i'm not going to listen to people tear me down i'm going to be something and make something for myself the world was on fire no one could save me but you [Music] it's strange what desire will make foolish people do i never dreamed that i'd meet somebody [Applause] don't wanna fall in love [Music] what a wicked game you play to make me feel this way what a wicked thing to do to make me dream of you don't wanna fall in love with you hello what's your name my name is lacey madison i'm 17 years old and i'm from blacktown nice i am i am kicking myself i am kicking myself that i didn't hit my buzzer how old are you i'm 17. so you're in school yes so what do you do when you're not in school i'm working i have my own business so um yeah you do doing well what do you do i'm a fashion designer but i also work in the marketing industry so i am a ladybug that was very kelly of you so that's a lacy thing like i'm a ladybug that's cute when i say you do that i'm gonna be like that was for me but you can teach me if you just come on my team that was really captivating i loved how you sort of swooped every node and then you had these interesting vibratos kicking in and what i heard in that is an artist i heard somebody who also isn't afraid to really commit to the note and that's what i loved about it i loved it i would love you to be on my team i loved it i loved listening to you sing because you meant every single word and i love how you got caught up in the moment up there it made me excited to want to work with you thank you we want to find the voices that stand out and i think you're really unstoppable you are so good with words i really want you to choose me at your coach what an amazing voice and at this point of the game you've got to start thinking about who else people have got team george doesn't have anyone like you i know you got really excited when delta turned but i was first to turn i always said i was like i'll choose the first person to turn around and then i was like and that was me then you have to choose a team oh my god this is so hard do you guys want to hold on wait i just like to say i would love to have you on my team i know you love delta i do pick someone that would challenge you [Applause] challenge i would love to have you on my team i'm gonna go with kelly and here's the really beautiful part is that you have the most beautiful woman in kelly who's going to teach you so much and i am right next to you here this is what sisterhood we're all together sorry to me and i am so excited [Applause] is she did it i did it i got busted how are you hi little sister oh gosh wow i like your hat oh thank you hi okay give me a hug yeah yeah that was good it's a good one she's amazing it's a good one [Music] i chose lacy because i felt like you know it's some people i learned some people that you're excited to work with and some people that you want to mentor laci's boat normally i'll be in school but today i'm just going to go up give it my best shot and have fun i'm gabriel dress i'm 16 years old and i'm an a-list student oh you're an english alien i'm an a-level student although i live in london i'm half french so i do speak french freely this is my pen guess who's back again i live in an estate in south elin i live years old i entered this group that was made for unicef which is called kids united we would go and travel around singing songs with positive messages and like giving money to charity it was really a great experience to be part of basically the group separated because everyone was growing up and i wanted to go on a new adventure and do my own thing i dream about it all the time the voice is a show that i've been watching for a long time now i want to see the boom and see the chairs turning around i want it so badly i love to make people dance and entertain them made them happy so i hope i'm gonna make people dance [Music] today [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] love energy [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] baby [Applause] [Applause] [Music] you [Applause] yes thank you very much what's your name gabriel howard 16. gabriel you were thinking like you wanted like you see what i mean like was you dancing yeah yo yo can we just do the chorus again so you can like [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah i'm super happy that i turned for you bro like what sometimes the audience knows and they were like oh what you doing and i'm thinking it's like another one of those things like go true wheelchair wheel like when you're a superstar these are the guys that are responsible thank you very much [Applause] who did you come here with i came with my dad and my grandma wow i'm from france well originally but i live in london you speak french yeah oh jimmy pat really i am the type of energy you just possessed on that stage that shows why you're here and you deserve to be here thank you very much well you know i mean i enjoyed it but to be honest i thought it was a girl oh that would really it's really something thank you very much you got hold of it and you did it thank you gabriel the energy was great uh the song was very i'm looking forward to seeing what you do next that was a really good audition you should be really proud of it thank you very much welcome to team will bro yeah so what's up bro thank you very much congratulations [Applause] he came in and woke the place up yeah he sure did i'm so happy i've lost my words i'm just um i'm just so excited right now and yeah i'm just so happy basically yeah should we get a bit closer let's just go to the top step i'm roger samuels i'm 43 i'm from london and i'm a pastor [Applause] church has always been a big part of our life singing was always in me from a small age i was in a choir at my father's church when i was about eight years old [Applause] i sing in church still i do weddings i do festivals and i love it i met my wife in church and we've been together for 25 years we have eight children rachelle dijon rajei reese navia hannah king jeremiah and my grandson kamari having it kids is fun it's really buzzing in our house because we're one team that's nice we're very creative can we make up songs on the spot it could be something like this you know someone else has got one more sausage than the other so we were saying ewing got a lot of sausages [Music] the biggest dream really for me is to sing in front of thousands of people there's times when i felt like giving up i mean when i see my age getting a bit older i could be coming to the end this is where i put the shoes up but i have to get a chat and today it would just be life-changing try your best i try my best that's what i'm gonna do i'm gonna try my best my kids always always encourage me daddy keeps singing you can do it it just builds me up my dad is really talented and he's our hero [Music] my kids really look up to me i really want to make my wife and my children so proud [Music] i can't wait to see the smiles of all of my children i want to just let them know that if daddy can do this they can do it also you walked with me you walked with me when i'm all alone with so much i know along the way then i heard you sing i promise you i'm always there [Music] [Applause] i know you will be [Applause] [Music] sorrows [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the same [Applause] what's in it what's your name roger samuels where are you from roger croydon london sorry about this guys [Music] i can make me cry this is such a big opportunity for me my family and my wife and my eight [Applause] [Music] children [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we did it we did it we did it you got a choir there yes i struggled to remember one name so many i can just say that was incredible performance you should be so proud thank you very much tremendous thank you so much [Applause] i don't even know what to say it's just that the way you were singing it came from a different place and i could tell you was singing with a purpose thank you when tom turned i said oh i got to go too thank you very much yeah jennifer i'm just getting the flashback of my own family my grandma has eight kids wow i'm like wow you guys are a squad i'm telling you this is a squad yeah yeah it's a beautiful thing and that's all you need is family right that's all you need man i mean um but you guys should be proud of your dad yeah so good job thank you this is like a long journey coming from me and my wife the kids believe in me they believe i can do it they push me to all the limits sometimes they try and find me gigs and shows and they say dad i want you to sing at this show and that you think you could get on the voice i said i don't know who told you to come in yeah all right so i've got my son here reese hannah where's hannah she's my musical teacher my vocal teacher but these two are the ones that will say dad next year you gotta do it so i had to make it i had to be here thank you very much good job so now roger it comes down to who you're going to pick as your coach [Applause] now tom yeah what do you see that you could do that would just take me to that next level i would find out what makes you tick what you really love to do we can do anything you want to do because you have the voice for it thank you very much jennifer oh lord i can't come behind it i would just love to see how much more is in there and how many more other places it can go you know what's up to you what what you feel but there's the female version and i'm the male version right [Applause] [Music] i'm ready to choose my coach will be [Applause] [Music] tom jones i think you made the right choice listen thank you [Applause] i mean you're a real real singer we'll [Applause] [Music] that's one right there honey yeah but he means it this guy no he means someone's got some singers [Music] to see my kids run on the stage it was like wow i'm just a happy proud father [Applause] hi hey this one this one this one this one it's so nice to have you back i'm excited thank you hello hello hello hi um are you okay you're all right how have you been i'm good mate you look great thank you my name is kim shee i'm 31 and i'm an all-star so i was on the voice in season 5 in 2016 got onto team delta and i had the best experience of my whole life and that's not even an understatement i made it to the lives and i was just like what is happening to my life like i didn't expect to get that far at all but it really sort of sealed in that maybe i do have something that people want to listen to but through all of that i wasn't actually living my true authentic self [Applause] [Music] it makes no sense but i'm desperate to connect when i started my voice journey i was sort of really in the closet like i really did want to tell people about like being in love and my experience as a lesbian and and what that means to me but that was scary you can't live like this [Music] through the voice i i came out online and it just completely changed me as an artist and a person where i can just live my 100 authentic true self when i was on the voice before delta gave me this song called both sides now by jenny mitchell i didn't get to sing the song because i didn't get the votes to stay in the competition i don't actually think i really tapped into the meaning of it three years ago and i think it's really fitting for this situation because i feel like i've gone through so much growth in three years as a person and as an artist and this song is unfinished business [Music] and ice cream castles in the air and feathers [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] from both sides [Music] illusions i really don't know still [Music] [Applause] [Music] i really don't know at all [Applause] oh [Applause] so you know each other [Applause] that just that absolutely just smashed my heart just there that made me so happy because i believe in you with all my heart and soul and just i loved you getting to sing that song you had to sing this song for the whole country what's your name uh my name's kim shee i'm from sydney and i'm an all-star can you tell us about i've never met you before you're a new experience for me coming on singing the joni mitchell song you're already walking in the footsteps of greatness tell me what happened before yeah so i was on the voice in season 5 in 2016 and i made it all the way through the lives and had some of the most amazing performance experiences of my life under the you know men tour ship of delta and that was the song we had planned to do the week that i uh went home and yeah i moved to sydney from where uh brisbane obviously so i came out um publicly always a good decision i always find it cuts out the small talk you know what i mean once you do that so bravo thank you what are you looking out for this time around you know we always say like when someone comes back it's like they mean business this time you know what i mean yeah totally well you came back to win sure let's come back to win yeah okay but you must have worked out by now that you you this is what you want to do singing is what you want to do that's your passion yeah i love it so much it's yeah music is my life it's the best job in the world come on t george i can't imagine not doing this journey with you but i understand that it might be scarier going with me my belief in you and my love for you and my care for you that hasn't changed i would never let you down or can i offer you some new experiences because new experiences are what make you grow you know doing the same thing and expecting a different result is kind of madness and action i'm here throwing my heart on the floor i can't see it she can see her i'm just i'm i feel that you have this healing quality you've got a gift and when you sing trust me it's powerful and it's going to heal people it's going to bring people peace it's going to confront people and that's the power of music music is so emotive it's so deep and it helps us get through stuff what you just did with that journey mitchell song we just need to keep it in that soulful connected space you know and i i would love to be your coach because i feel like we can just keep healing people this is so overwhelming um can i say one thing you know you know kelly can i say one thing you know you know one thing i do know is that the exciting part about being your coach before is that we can up the ante again that's the part that is exciting for me but i'm saying as in i know her i love her i care about her i don't need to know you to love you i i know it that's absolutely true but i'm saying i can get i feel i feel that then then it means that we can go to a new level that's my point i love your voice and i just think we could create some really magic moments together [Applause] [Applause] what what where [Applause] it's um i'm i'm definitely someone who who loves an aussie so i'm really sorry george i'm australian i'm related to ivan gulligan famous tennis player and you know i thought i've thought about this moment in case this this happened and i i got so much out of working with you dalty you've changed my life in in such an amazing way look i'm gonna cry it's the truth though like this experience just absolutely shook my world and um helped me believe in myself and i just thank you so much and guy what you just told me about wanting to heal people and you know make a difference and connect with people is exactly what i want to do so i'm going to go with you thanks guys [Music] [Applause] i love a curveball oh my god that was definitely a curveball i came up there because i just felt you know what i mean it was like a lie i know you're about to make me cry thank you so much i trust i trust seeing the rules on that like you know we we went all the way like it's not like like i took her to the finals i took her as far as i could and you might again you know i mean you might again it definitely helps being australian yeah should we get passports yeah yeah it's really big you know obviously there's a real loyalty here to australia hey i love you mcqueen's great but get lost [Music] are you proud i'm so proud thank you so much guys so nice to meet you i can't wait to work with you absolutely i'll see you soon see you later wow now she's walked off stage i feel very calm that i would have been happy for her to go with george or guy because it just we we just closed our chapter we're seeing both sides now and i'm still her friend and i'm still there for him i just wasn't australian enough he wasn't australian enough so you know if you're not a straight enough that's something we can't help we can't help you without judge there's nothing you can do to help me with that one [Music] my name is mercy vander i'm 23 years old from brisbane let's try that is that that soon any higher any higher higher and i'm gonna be hitting my head formally it was known as asperger syndrome bernards i believe known as asd which stands for autism inspection spectrum spectrum disorder sorry growing up with asd which wasn't easy at times when i'm nervous my twitches can get pretty severe uh you know to the point you know that it's uncontrollable for a certain amount of time um i do get quite frustrated it really happens you know when i get nervous and stuff music for me was definitely a getaway and it's i love you know yeah i actually grew up in a foster family glad that i grew up in a very supportive family you know and like honestly couldn't wouldn't have it any other way [Music] supporting me tonight isn't my foster mom she is beyond amazing and simon he has like a big brother to me very proud of you thank you so much tonight i will be singing perfect by ed sheeran i love this time so hopefully i do turn a chair i will try my best to not let the nerves get in the way wow this is so strong oh my god oh [Music] i found love [Music] [Applause] [Music] i would not give you this time i'm dancing in the dark with you pushing my arms [Music] and she looks perfect though i don't deserve this storm you look perfect tonight hi hello mates hey how are you i'm good what's your name my name is mercy vanda cool name it's a great name yeah superstar thanks thanks how did that feel i mean these guys were loving it i was looking around everyone was with you everyone was moving thank you so much never actually been on a stage in my entire life sorry what yeah first time you ever yeah ever gee whiz dude did you like getting to do it it was amazing yeah hi i plan to be back next year i love that confidence thank you so good that's good to hear i was very nervous honestly so nervous can i just say obviously we didn't turn for you but that doesn't mean you're going to stop doing what you do but your nerves did get the better of you in in places you know you know when you were more relaxed it was more convincing well i think the nerves will go the more you do this you know that's the thing you've got to pursue it so really you know it's just a question of getting a bit more experience thank you so much you know what i encourage you to perform more boo you know thank you so much because i feel like when you're on stage you're gonna feel like even more comfortable up there i love that you said yeah and i'm gonna be back next year you know what i mean like it's so many people that get up here and they get really frustrated that they don't get a chair turn and you were the kind of artist where it's just like i'll do anything you know what i mean i want to make sure i do anything thank you thank you thank you um boy george i was gonna ask um my mom is actually actually a huge fan of you and she's been following you and your culture club group for years she's 72 this year and i'm she was wondering if she could give you a hug if that's a good what's your name hi vivian i'm sorry you smell great really proud [Applause] is there anything is there anything i can improve on just relax into everything you deserve to enjoy the song more enjoy the song take the time with the song and enjoy it tomorrow okay can't wait to see you next year thank you really you know i had the confidence to you know to go out and do gigs you know because i never really believe in myself what a lovely person and the mother is she's amazing she's yeah gorgeous she raised him she was telling me she raised him from when he was i think so she's maybe wow but she was beautiful well i will forever be thankful for this opportunity and i i will be back next week absolutely [Music] i'm feeling okay i feel a bit nervous i'm excited you guys excited yeah yeah i'm mike platt i'm 32 years old and i'm a firefighter from south wales i'm an on-call firefighter which basically means we respond in the quickest amount of time as we can going out on calls it can be a very dangerous job at times but i love being a firefighter my crew in work they know that i sing they like to have a bit of a joke and a bit of up there but secretly they think i'm all right the dream for me has always been to be a professional singer music is one of the most important things in my life as well as my family [Music] i live at home with my wife and two daughters they are my number one fans my daddy's very good of singing and i got my fingers my toes everything crossed wow he's so amazing i love him [Music] being on the stage is what i want to do for a while now i've kind of put it on the back burner and just tried to concentrate on being a dad today it gives me the opportunity to make it my dream [Music] i really want to make my children proud it just means a lot to be able to show them whatever they want to do in life if you work harder anything's possible pressure's building and it's uh it's getting all a little bit too real [Music] [Applause] it's scary like like i couldn't sleep last night you got me so nervous to be the first person the first one of the series yeah i don't know if i want to be that first person come up one step here we go i'm ready [Music] this is the biggest deal ever for me this could change my family's life this is something that i really care about and i want to succeed in doing for the rest of my life [Applause] [Music] come over here [Applause] [Music] such amazing grace [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] if you know what it's like to dream a dream [Music] baby [Music] [Applause] [Music] show me [Applause] [Music] [Applause] yes [Applause] is [Applause] what's your name wow mike where are you from from a little town called aberdeen [Music] and you only get that when you come from the welsh valley how long have you been sick since i was little i grew up in a musical household but i've been doing the pump circuit for about 10 years now i'm an on-call firefighter as well in there [Applause] how come you've done the voice this year my daughters they spurred me on they saw the advert on tv and were like oh you should audition and ah they encouraged me [Applause] well they're doing a good job mate honestly that was fantastic audition i thought i thought i thought he was a female so when i turned ceo i was like hi guys [Applause] i knew you're a guy i turned around straight away i was like yo why make you work extra hard when you already got all the chops like you're spectacular and when you up there when you're higher register the power you have there amazing bro if you want the know-how to have like a long career i'm the one for you like your voice is so amazing i honestly don't think i've ever really heard a voice like yours before thanks thank you here at jhub productions we would love to have you [Applause] [Music] to me if you want to win this year because i haven't won yet you need to come with me over [Applause] but i i feel like maybe i won't be allowed back in aberdeen if i didn't choose tom welcome to my team [Music] thank you so much i'm just shocked that they've all they all turned it's it's crazy well i'm so proud here it's because i have my fingers crossed oh that's what it was something did it ready i think so for you i'm lucy milburn i am 20 years old and i live in rotherham but if i go and stand in my garden i'm in sheffield why because the border where our garden is crosses over into sheffield and i just used to like up on one side of the fence and be like oh i'm in bathroom and then jump on the other and be like oh my sheffield and then my sister used to turn around and say i don't get away i'll go away i am a civil servant at the minute my job entails a lot of admin bouncing back emails and answering phone calls it's not something that i want to do forever that sounds really cheesy doesn't it i live with my mum and dad my dad's definitely my biggest supporter he's by my side the whole time my dad is basically rhodes manager agent all thrown into one i wouldn't be able to do it without him i think you might need this cure lucy started singing at the school and then she got onto the pubs local gigs and voices just got better and better happy with that wonderful whenever i sing it's cheesy as it sounds you're flying it's like you are sat on top of that note and you can like shoot light out the end of your fingers and you just honestly it feels like i could take off most definitely she gets a voice from me i know that he says to people that i get my singing voice from him not at all record that oh good luck darling there have been times where i've been singing to four men in a working women's club and no one cares whatsoever and i don't want to do that anymore this audition is potentially life-changing for me i don't know how to put it into words how big it actually is this stage is like 20 times anything i've ever done so excited good luck a turn would mean i'd make myself proud i want this so bad that it started to hurt when the world is seen in yellow i only see grey when everybody sees the rainbow i'm stuck in the rain you take a little piece of me every time you leave i don't think or reason to smile you know i used by [Music] is [Music] it's only black and white [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you are so beautiful [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] what's your name my name's lucy where are you from i'm from sheffield that was just simply beautiful you had your moment and you took us with you like right you know it was very captivating thank you so much [Applause] [Music] you have a beautiful life and a beautiful way of expressing yourself yeah well this is all i have to say if you don't come with me i'm leaving right now [Applause] no you believe me you touched me thank you so much listen i've been on the show for a while and i've never heard tom say that so that's some real stuff i would like for you to be on my team but i don't know how to compete with that with that pitch there lucy it was absolutely stunning listen i love you on my team you're just awesome i mean i just thought i could hear that on the radar that's a single that's amazing that's got i mean that's yours it was just brilliant it's just you delicious story where have you singing empty pubs i've done that to like four old blokes that don't want to be there it's only sort of been in the last maybe two or three years that i've realized that this is it and this is all i'm really good at and this is what i wanna do well breaking news you got four turns four times so there's nothing to really worry about except if you picked the wrong coach one question yeah so this is something that actually gets me a bit worked up do you keep chocolate in the fridge or the cupboard to me it depends white chocolate you put in the fridge because it just melts to mush and dark chocolate you keep in a cupboard i like milk chocolate though and i got some in the back too yeah i keep it with me how about you tom do you like chocolate yeah i like chocolate i'm a chocoholic i'm always late chocolate maybe work on that one listen it's time for you to decide who you're gonna pick [Applause] i think [Applause] the people have spoken mr sundoons [Applause] she's got some soul she does she sure does comes from in there right in there you just got four times i am lost for words that's the first well that's an absolute dream come true i cannot express how good this feels and i haven't stopped crying at all [Music] my name's bed jesse pigram i'm 20 years old from broome west australia i was brought up by my single mom nirei she was actually 16 at the time when she had me growing up with a young mum it's like growing up with your best friend you kind of learn together and experience life together he really has been like my little mate and so is his brother i'm his number one supporter the hardest and most wonderful part about this is sort of letting him go do his own thing i come from a large indigenous and multicultural background we've got a bit of filipino some yaroo a bitty yamaji some scottish and a little bit of irish as well i come from a real musical family my grandad stephen and his brothers are in the band called pigeon brothers i have a lot of father figures in my life that have really shaped me into who i am and how i act today [Music] music is just a part of who we are the connection to the land and the stories is something i always carry with them [Music] so you've come from a very musical family the pig rooms uh you know have were inducted into the western australian hall of fame weren't they we a couple of us were here but we've been playing since the 70s when we were growing up we didn't really have this kind of opportunity you know we sort of just did the old pub circuit around australia that's a new way to the top if you want to rock and roll the musical influence i got from my family was a lot folky country songs but my thing is pop i love r b my blind audition song is you need me by ed sheeran it's a tricky song the tempo is ridiculous for this to work my first breath needs to be very big i need to take in a lot of air because the first verse goes on a while no mean time no i mean so break it down thinking i'm making a new song i'm playing a different show [Music] [Music] [Music] i'll get it he should start again [Music] break it down thinking i'm making a new sound i'm playing a different show every night in front of a new crowd that's huge now seems that life is great now see me lose focus as i sing to you loud know where you can know i want her so i say the words that make you blush i'm gonna sing this now wow interesting right yeah he's really interesting you need me man i don't need you you need me man i don't need you you need me [Applause] [Applause] [Music] a long night i've got tight and i've gone hyper never be anything but a singer-songwriter the game's over but now i'm on a new level one shower step on this track without a loop pedal people think that i'm bound to blow but i've done around about a thousand shows plus i haven't got a house and i live on the couch so you believe the lyrics when i'm singing to my wow from day one i've been prepared with your five wax for my dark brown hair cause i'm the same as a year ago more people hear me though according to the youtube and facebook video you need me man i don't need you you need me man i don't need you you need me man i don't need to be told you need me man i don't need you you need me man i don't need you you need me man i don't need you you need me man i don't but no you need me man i don't need hey well you don't need me because you've got delta and you've got kelly [Laughter] my name's but jesse pigram i'm from wa i'm 20 years old wa representing can you say your name again to me bo jessie what is a sample anything no it's just um like a surfer i don't know mum was 16 when she had me so she kind of he's a famous surfer some hot guy from point break or something oh okay cool that explains it so what what did happen at the start were you were you in and out of it i was literally i practiced that first word like 50 times just then yeah i just couldn't find it is that what was going on i was trying to work out yeah i was i was just singing the wrong key god i got it got it after that what i loved is your recovery i was so into your tone and there was something really connected about you and i want to work with your voice i want to make sure that every time you walk out on stage you sound as good as that better because i never walk out without a hundred percent knowing exactly where i'm at and i could give you that thank you oh thank you thank you that was a really great picture thanks kale really great let me tell you something i'm excited like you're 20. it's such a brilliant age to come into your own and to really tap into your sound you know what i mean like yeah you had a rough start but i can help you get over that your potential is just endless i really feel like that i want to work with you dude if you can't tell like i'd be stoked to work with you and above anything we would go on a musical journey but we would have so much fun in the journey getting to greatness because that's what it's about kelly i'm sorry that was a great pitch oh can i say that back get it in that was a great pitch that was hot thanks guys i i guess i was a bit unsure and the reason i didn't turn around was because i looked across at delta and kelly and they were really passionate yeah it's all about what the coaches can do for you for sure right and looking across at these two i think you have an excellent choice thank you you go through and you got two very hot women with amazing voices pitching for you all right the decision is yours cool um i think you're both amazing and um i'm just gonna have to like go with my guts and uh continue on with what i what i reckon will best suit and i'm gonna go kelly [Applause] how long have you been playing the [Applause] guitar 20 years old with that kind of pressure i know i know that's big pressure is this your family [Applause] [Music] you know what you've messed up baby you recovered and you got through i'm so proud of you great job oh hi mom no problem [Music] congratulations [Music] [Applause] oh you weren't you went you weren't you went for that baby he makes me so excited i was like how am i gonna compete with these glamorous women this is stressful oh he's he made me excited no it was good yeah he's cool you guys that'll be awesome let's keep the party going all right [Music] wow up next is 17 year old hosea parch from melbourne i was born and raised in auckland new zealand it was kind of rough for us we stayed in a one-bedroom apartment with my grandparents me my siblings and my mum in the sitting room myself and my family have been through a lot together but we always stay happy no matter what happens even when we don't have money or food on the table it's just loving to see smiles on my family's face the reason why i'm doing the voice is not much for myself but for my family especially for my grandparents because they're getting old i'm very blessed to have them here with me today yeah tell me what you want buying my family house what kind of house is it well i'm not sure just a big house just to fit my whole family yeah the song i'm singing is about love i sometimes cry when i sing the song because it's very touching because i always think about the stuff we went through growing up and we all connected by just loving each other i feel scared i guess i'll just sing my guts out hopefully i can turn a chair and go all the way hey [Music] are they playing i like to say we gave it a try [Music] [Applause] maybe we just weren't right but that's a lie that's life [Applause] we can't deny it as much as you want but in times our feelings will show cause we wouldn't roar later who wonder why we gave up the truth is everyone knows is never enough [Music] [Applause] the way i [Music] arms oh beautiful we are almost we almost knew what love was but almost is never enough what a pro hello what's your name brother um my name's jose parch i'm 17 years of age and i'm from melbourne wow great what a beautiful beautiful beautiful soulful voice we couldn't not turn around to be quite honest just so respectful to the song that thing of communication and and making someone believe like wholeheartedly is just what made me turn around uh congratulations it was awesome i'd love to work with you brother that was just so moving i really feel you you're playing that beautiful magical instrument that i love so much oh thank you in that song i was completely taken by the words i just wanted to listen it takes courage to stand up there and have space around yourself and sing from your heart and i would love to be able to be your coach to be able to guide you through this journey and make you an even better artist how long have you playing for uh a few months what and you just decided i'm gonna play this on the voice yeah pretty much yeah you've literally been playing a few months you've never played before i don't know how to read notes did you have lessons no no lessons at all self-taught do youtube no no youtube at all no i don't believe in youtube no yay okay that's definitely the best part i don't believe in youtube listen let me warn you against that because i think people need to hear you you know thank you there was something very kind of touching and personal about your performance it felt like it almost like being in church or something you know it's like a kind of real spiritual kind of experience and i love the fact that you know it's like oh yeah just picked up piano sometimes in life you know it's just what you're meant to do you know what i mean you know i could never have done anything but music there was just no option i was always going to be in music or unemployed and uh i feel like it's going to be the same for you you know you just it's almost like stevie wonder but i want to be careful i want to be too bombastic do you know what i mean i don't want to go over the top i feel like i want you to come to me naturally because i feel like we're a good mix you know that song ain't too proud to beg well i'm the opposite because i really feel like i could teach you a lot yeah and vice versa i think you can teach me a lot too hosea i can talk a lot but i am at a loss for words oh [Music] i'm emotional i feel like this is why we do what we do as as artists and it's so cool to come to another country and you see somebody with a great gift and you get excited and you get the goosebumps i literally have goosebumps all over me you you're the reason i sing you know what i mean you're a part of the gift it's no mistake that you're here today it's no mistake that you had a four-chair turn we're all gonna pitch everything that we can to you because we all want you on our team but man you were born to do this thank you [Applause] i think we're all really excited to have you in this competition and we want to be part of our mission who are you going to work with we are down to business firstly i want to thank each and one of you for turning oh wow may god bless each and one of your souls um you guys honestly you guys deserve it beautiful it's an honor to be here today but the team i would like to go on this boy i'm so honored thanks man awesome god bless you wow what a treat we're gonna win so talented baby you're 17 years old oh all your future oh your future oh i'm so happy you're here thank you god bless all you music is what i'm passionate about and i feel like boy george can help me fulfill my dream i could just like do backflips if i could actually do backflips oh he's coming [Applause] [Music] you got a winner there george george i hate you oh but babe come on you love me really kind of he was amazing he was very sweet [Applause] i think i said i could win the voice australia yeah i think i might have just found the winner [Music] i'm nervous but i'm ready to go out there and give it my all and hopefully they turn around my name is mark asari and i'm 28. ever since i could remember i've always had a stammer which is when like like i can't get my words out you know a lot like normally [Music] and that made me like shy i didn't talk to anybody a big life-changing moment for me was when i found that when i sang i didn't stammer so so that's what i started to do you know just sing when i talk [Music] so that's when i started singing and really um again maybe i should just sing the whole interview away it's quite difficult to put into words what music means to me because it's a way i communicate to people it is it's also a part of me it's like it's given me the confidence to just be who i want to truly be in the world so sometimes some people get me wrong sometimes you feel there is [Music] i'm walking away [Music] [Applause] [Music] turn me away and i don't wanna live my life too many sleepless nights [Music] i'm me [Music] [Applause] thank away [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] what's your name my name is mark mark i'm sorry sorry um i've got a stammer so it's all right so how long have you been seeing it um well so um wow i can't see i'm nervous guys sorry so how long have you been singing um i've been singing for a while maybe 10 years or so question for me to you why do you sing without your condition it's a case where you use another part of your brain to sing and to talk also i'm talking in a ribbon so my name is mark having that sort of rhythm or it's weird it's a weird one yeah it gives you something to latch onto that's it that's it well then we can latch onto it together listen you sound in control of what you do when you sing you sound in complete control yes you know you didn't put one note wrong i just loved it so thank you i appreciate it [Applause] you seem phenomenal thank you your voice is like so smooth and rich so i would like to to be a coach [Music] i don't know if you noticed but i turned around as you said turn around everybody catch that you said turn around what's up but i'm not walking away okay i pay attention there okay so here's where you decide between the legend sir tom jones and me do you religion as well not like you're a legend tom well you will be [Music] [Applause] i'm gonna go [Applause] [Applause] that was inspiring he's a good looking fellow too he is if i had his condition and i could sing like that i would sing every word i spoke it's amazing i'm mix i'm so happy i'm happy i'm speechless [Music] i was watching the voice and it was boy george's first season and i said to mom who's that and she said look him up boy george so i did and i was like oh my god i love his style i love him and he just started from there i'm lucy griffiths i'm 16 years old and i am obsessed with the 80s my room has boy george posters all over the walls and then i have culture club finals books of boy george [Music] boy george is flamboyant he's done his own thing since day one and i can relate to that [Music] tonight i am singing a song by boy george of course but i've changed the melody and the first part of the song into opera [Music] i'm really nervous [Music] [Laughter] huh [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] precious kisses a [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] do you really want to hurt me do you really want to make me cry [Music] first of all first of all let me just start what's your name darling i'm lucy i'm 16 i'm from north gold coast let me just tell you if i don't thought you were fantastic i would return for you if i'd had space completely well my team is not full but i have been very like touch and go with this button right now but you had a lovely performance and just make sure you like feel it i think the more you experience with life you'll be able to like really pour that into your music so that we can feel it okay doing something with something that i wrote that's deeply deeply personal to me you know that song changed my life you know and i didn't want it released this is the biggest joke of all i went into the record company and said no one's going to buy that they won't listen to that it's too slow i'm leaving the band number one in 36 countries so we get it wrong as much as we get it right and i really loved what you did what you did was so beautiful it wasn't perfect the idea of what you did was so cool and clever but sometimes when an idea is not ready the best thing you can do is say to that person not come over here let's if you want my help would you like my help it's definitely something that i would like to work on you with but you might have to wear some other clothes for the session as well okay sorry i i love you i am like obsessed i don't know if she heard what you said [Applause] sorry i just no don't be trying to be apologizing that's what english people do they're like i'm sorry come down and come down basically george is saying he's going to do a mentoring session i think is that what you're saying you guys are going to have a work through no i'm going to record the thing with us wow where's your family around the back yeah yeah all right let's go now you understand i'm not just doing this to be nice i'm not doing it to be nice i mean [Music] i'm just saying to her that you know i actually mean what i said so i'm not just doing this you know it's not a tv moment for me i thought it was incredible how old are you again 16. 16 come on listen that was pretty good what you did it was a nice surprise for you because i wasn't expecting it see you later thank you um boy george just said he's gonna record a track with you did you hear that when you were on stage no he said that look at your face you clearly didn't hear it oh sweetheart it's a lot i get it you handled it you were very cool and calm up there i loved what she did with my song and i think that there's something in it you know so it would be interesting to explore what it could be so yeah i will keep my word he just said that he wants to record with me and that's like amazing so you keep smiling i don't know it's the nerves we're just swaying to the nerves [Music] my name's keisha and i'm 34 and i'm one half of loaded sister my name's sally i'm from sheffield and i am the second part of logan's sister the duo came about because keisha wanted to put a band together she put an ad out online in 2010 looking for a singer we have management we have a label we're gonna be famous that's the best lie i've always just inside wanted to be a spice girl and sally was like i'm here when we first got together we performed every day or every weekend we were out gigging anything that had a marketing stage we were there [Music] the whole time that i've been in the duo i was living in london and then about two years ago i threw a spanner in the woods and got pregnant so i moved back to sheffield she did she left me logistically it was really difficult hey girl you look fine we do have a genuine long-distance relationship a rare day so we use all the technology we use our phones and i've literally got two minutes for us rehearsing has been a nightmare i've only got two minutes too oh when you've got a young child running around it's very difficult to actually do that it's so great that the voice has brought us back together because this is our last shot at making our dream a reality we are petrified at this point can we actually pull this out the bag come with me for your audition girls but it is it's good it's good to see you it's good to be back isn't it can you imagine how many women are out there that want to do what we're doing and feel that they can't because somebody's told them you're too old you've got children that's your dream gone now your dream's gone this really is our last chance of making a career out of music and we're going to give it all we've got [Music] [Applause] oh what's really crazy [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] thirsty for me now you just wanna be set free this is do you hate me i'm gonna love you baby [Applause] i pressed [Applause] [Applause] cheers [Applause] [Music] so what's up guys hey what's your guys's names keisha keisha yeah sally loaded sister loaded sisters yes um so where are you guys from i'm from sheffield well thank you guys for coming no thank you for turning oh we all were like waited to the last minute because we were enjoying it all yeah and i actually went first we saw that we caught tick weld over at our president well actually ollie was first but he had he had a seat problem first of all you ladies are dope that was amazing and i will say that one minute one of you were rapping and the other was singing and then all of a sudden you both started singing yeah and then i was like oh my god they're both singing and then the seconds was up yeah that's what happened i got left out i got cheated i loved it i was digging it you know and i think it will happen tom was digging it once started then the other one come in and the wrapping and the singing and the thing it was it was really really something the end the crescendo yeah with the high you know when you went up there boom i loved it thank you thank you so much how long you guys been together for we've been together for eight years but we took the last three years out to have babies yeah we live opposite ends of the country so we've been singing to each other on facetime wow that's commitment you could feel that with the performance you guys are really together i mean the song was a great song choice really current i could hear that your version of it you made it your own it was just awesome seriously awesome [Applause] so the ball is in your court yes yeah we have a word yeah yeah you got three great options all right we like you all very very much [Music] [Applause] but i think for both of us we have decided on will you know [Applause] hey [Applause] but they said they haven't worked together for a while but sounds to me like they work every day we work so hard we've been separated for such a long time and then we finally get an opportunity to do something awesome and it's amazing that they live so far apart but they still make a point to kind of you know what i mean rehearsing that means they want it they're professionals yeah yeah singing over the internet like how we do and rehearsing in our crazy way it was a massive risk and we took it i'm glad we did i'm so glad we did my name is chris james i'm an audiobook narrator and i'm from norwich the sun was just beginning to rise on a cold autumn day i do all of my narration at home it's a very simple setup and i just read into the microphone and record noble hawk you are late depending on the book i sometimes have to vary my voice my days can be a bit odd sometimes because i'll be going from a very normal sort of in order to leave the building follow the green exit signs to the city is dark at night i look over the people and i think how terrible they are it's murder on the throat unfortunately i'm into a lot of music i'm into sort of old style rock and roll i really like my musicals but i'm a huge fan of rock music i'm in a rock band myself at the moment and we're called powerhouse i play the guitar and sing they play loud so um you probably need ear protectors if you're going to watch them we gig pretty much every single weekend and if you're having a good time and the crowd's having a good time then it's a great night [Music] it's the voice and it's the biggest stage i've ever been on yeah i mean we've we have had some good times but nothing nothing quite onto this level i think it's going to be quite odd going out on stage without a band or an instrument for the first time but i would just hope that the coaches get a feel of the energy in the room and see what a performer i am today's choice is definitely fun i still haven't heard it the guys in the band they've never heard this song you're in for a treat my song is is all about energy and all about the crowds this is easily gonna be the most adrenaline i have ever had on their stage ever in my life [Music] if any one of the coaches turned around it would be an amazing honor and just world changing to me [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] fabulous [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] he's got slaves we're just lousy with loyalty [Applause] [Music] is [Applause] [Music] is [Applause] what's your name my name's chris what up chris so i i wouldn't if you were to sing like metallica i would be like yeah so like how do you how did you go about picking this song i do a lot of songs so i was like could do something rock could do something country and then i was just like oh yeah honestly it really was just i i wanted to let the crowd have a good time and just do a song that people would like because that's what i do let's go you come and took me back to when i used to work on a cruise ship days and broadway and everything else i'm like wow i think it was brave that you did that so job well done that's all i can say were you doing dance moves yeah well i was dancing you were doing this dance that's what it felt like right i wanted to turn around so bad the reason i didn't turn because i thought what can i do for you i don't deal in that kind of music but now that you're saying that you sing other stuff you know see i wish i'd press the button now because you know you you have a voice you you have a very strong powerful voice with with the range it's going to be very very interesting now to find out what what ollie is going to is going to have you do we are going to go crazy we are going to have fun oh yeah that is what we are gonna do i love that you just expressed yourself and listen i've always been someone that loves to entertain the crowd and i think yes it's about the voice you've got one of them sir in abundance i mean the voice was amazing your technique was incredible and i gotta say i could just hear the whole place rocking and yeah it's a little bit quirky a little bit out there but hey i think people are gonna love it and i really can't wait to get in there and start coaching you and see what we're gonna do thank you so delighted [Applause] i think it's going to be kind i love that you did that yeah i love you i was so close but i just saw everyone going mad i thought you know what yeah and now that i know that you can do different things you try to excite me a bit more now sure yeah hello guys [Music] i'm really proud of myself for my performance there were times when i was a bit like am i mad doing this song but i knew i had it in me and the performance i just gave was the best i could have possibly given i'll tell you what chris i didn't expect that no one ever does no way i did not expect him to look like that no me neither it was cool he's gonna be mad i like it oh i love it that's great are 466 million people worldwide that have some difficulty accessing the average hearing range that's 466 million who may not have heard your favorite song and my passion is to make it accessible so that hard of hearing and deaf can all experience what a song even feels like i'm andy dexterity i'm 34 years old and i'm from sydney [Music] my performance on the voice tonight is going to be very different i will be performing the song imagined by john lennon in auslan australian sign language [Music] i think this is a great start you know to show what can be done that auslan is there and it's a beautiful language and deaf people can participate and be involved and see what you're doing with your art sign language in auslan is not only aesthetically beautiful but giving it a layer of meaning for people who may not necessarily be able to hear the music or hear the lyrics and have some idea of what is being expressed i can't hear the voice but i can imagine what it might look like or sound like because i see the expression and the sign language and the character so that's you know how i see or perceive your voice is through your sign language i'm not specifically just translating the lyric there is also the instruments in the music there's the feel of the song there is my specific interpretation of the song as well because there are people out there that rely on sign language to exist in the world and it's really important to give voice to the people who don't have one because being heard gives people you know visibility [Music] oh what a song [Music] right [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's the longest intro in the world [Music] [Applause] are they scared to come in or something you may say i'm a dreamer [Applause] [Music] i hope someday you'll join us and the world will be as one oh wait a minute oh amazing [Applause] oh look we're talking to each other hello hello hi i was a bit confused if i'm being honest because i i thought maybe you were scared to come in or there was an intro i i i can't see what's happening all i could see was every single person in the audience going yeah that was what was that buzzer thank you i didn't turn around until the end what did i miss visually you were signing yeah that that was all australian sign language auslan oh five percent of the world's population don't have access to the average hearing range that is like 466 million people that haven't heard your favorite songs oh wow like when you share a song with someone and you both know the words there are so many people that don't have that feeling and they're just watching going i don't understand but if you can open a doorway to that magic and share it in some way i mean i started learning i started learning sign language something i started learning sign language when i was quite young because i've always loved with all my heart wanting to communicate with everyone and making sure everybody could be heard and we could speak to each other this is representing a part of community that we haven't represented which is so exciting i really want to like do a performance together and learn like with you i really really want to learn with you i want to be your coach in this moment there's so much about what you're saying i understand i grew up very different as a kid in a time when people were very less tolerant so i called my band culture club because i embraced everybody because when i was growing up i really felt like i didn't belong yeah until i discovered david bowie and music and realized that that was the person i always meant you know that's the kind of person i've meant to be and i've spent my life dedicating myself to being that individual so i do understand on that level completely i would love to have you on my team in fact it might be nice to learn some stuff from you the funny thing is is i remember growing up my mother signed so i would be honored honored to work with you and it's actually deeper than just us working together this is very spiritual i love what you've done and i love your passion and that's artistry but you also have a great voice honestly you've got a gift right that's undeniable everyone the minute you started singing because what happens is is people get on the stage and they start singing and the audience are going oh please be good please be good and then they hear something special and it's almost a relief but then you took it from relief to something that's actually belief thank you well you have a four-chair turn it's your turn to make a decision okay um [Applause] um as much as it would be nice to work with all of you um and to find body language for any song that we pick together um i feel like there is something transcendent in the magic of [Music] george [Applause] oh and we'll yes on my sign obviously no you can take he is about the most whimsical human being how cute yeah okay thank you my mother signed every time i see someone sign it's almost like i feel like she's around [Music] good evening my name is paul stevens i'm 79 and i'm from wauwai central coast i was the longest serving professional golf caddy in the world hence the name the singing caddy i sang for the players all over the world a guy called greg norman i was his regular caddy i'm very proud of that you know for a little guy from rochdale in lancashire to work alongside and play against and become friends with some of the biggest legends of the game it gives me a big sense of pride you should never give up anything ever since the first day i sang as a head boy in a choir i've always given it 100 and that's what i'll always do you know you just don't give up [Music] ah hey winnie hi winnie love you winnie thanks steve thank you just about to go on as well thanks buddy i'm sure it will thanks mate take care bye [Music] there are places i remember in my life though some have changed some forever not for better some have gone and some remain all these places had their moments with lovers and friends i still can recall some are dead and some are living in my life i've loved them all the thought of all these friends and lovers there is no one compares with you and these memories lose their meanings when i think of love as something new oh i know i'll never ever lose affection for people and things that went before i know i'll often stop and think about them in my life i love you more hello hello hello what's your name my name is paul stevens paul stevens and what brings you to the voice um i've come back to live in australia i lived here earlier went back home to england and uh i wanted to let people know that i'm back i'm still [Laughter] i can't think of a better way to do it exactly where are you from in the uk i'm from a town called rochdale in lancashire we ask you how old you are you may i was 79 last friday don't worry i'm i'm slowly hopefully catching up with you you could hear there was a real voice of experience you know and it was a great song choice there was something very beautiful about what you did but it was imperfect and there were some pitching problems there was a little bit of shaky moments but i could hear a quality voice there and i think if all you did tonight was remind everyone that you're back that's a great start it was fantastic thank you so tell us a bit about you i was the longest serving professional golf caddy in the world [Music] [Applause] you are the singing caddy can we can we have a round of golf absolutely i'd love to get together with you let's do this so tell us a bit about musically have you sung in the past for a living as well yeah i started out as a rock and roll singer and uh the drummer in the group was a guy called richard starkey aka ringo starr wow two years later i had my own band and i worked at the world-famous cavern club in matthew street liverpool and i was supporting four guys that have done very very you're joking really yeah yeah so sorry thank you when you sang that song just then i was hearing every word like the storytelling was beautiful today it continues on as you're sharing your heart with us all today and then sharing these stories is a real treat and an honor thank you so much for sharing i'm very humble thank you thank you well i i i can sing but i can't find a fairway so maybe you can help me find a fairway i can help you i mean that's what he tells us but we've not seen like if it's anything else i think he's what we call a bandit it it he'll be a bit of a bandit i've snapped a few golf clubs thank you so much i'll help you down okay thank you thank you appreciate it absolutely my pleasure thank you thank you very [Music] much thank you he's back he's back everyone thank you he is back [Music] [Applause] who wants to join the fan club can we start a fan club for him to be please by my peers to get this far that's so high on my bucket list you know just to be recognized at this stage of my life this is the business
