place where you'll be safe to feel like grace cause we've all made mistakes if you've lost your way we want a fortune right turn right cause if you're looking through the [Music] and i distance leave a light on wow 2016. i'm pretty shaken welcome to the voice thank you it's a pleasure to be here who are you well my name is adam ludwig and i am 16 and i'm from adelaide south australia timeout did you say did you say 16 yeah i just turned 16 yesterday my name is adam ludwig and i'm 16. i was diagnosed with adhd and autism at a young age [Music] he's been treated so different he has been alone a lot of the time all by himself it's lonely sometimes we have to talk about this soul cry music has been probably his saviour it's nice to see him actually coming out of this lonely place where he once was there he is this is big this could change everything yep you're never going to go through life without struggles music's important because i look at it as a way of helping people i want to prove that i am not just a nobody i'm someone that's going to make music for the world hopefully oh my little heart have a look at him that's my boy if i don't get through will it break me yes but would i stop no adam i mean firstly sick mullet that is that is a good mullet can you can you give us a little uh just a little turnaround yes [Applause] and it made so much more sense when you said you're from adelaide yeah yeah i'm from adelaide i'm from outer space right [Laughter] it doesn't matter where you're from i think but um don't interrupt my pitch george you weren't pitching you were doing geography i'm on a thing we love a good mullet in adelaide and we love a great singer that song is all about feeling yeah and i actually can't believe that you at your age you were able to encapsulate all the feeling and the emotion of that song there was not one ounce of me that didn't believe every word you said when i was your age living in adelaide if you say adelaide one more time i love adelaide i've toured at late i get it but can we just give back to your voice your voice is i'm literally wondering like how where have you been like in adelaide [Laughter] [Music] we love adelaide then adelaide needs to stop hiding like it's you're so talented man i i would absolutely love to have you on team kelly how long have you been singing like in just nearly two years two years but you know what's cool to me is i can actually hear that like i hear that it's still like new and it's like a it's a power that you're still like molding how did you discover scene like what was the moment that you thought this is cool probably like every six-year-old seven-year-old they just start singing in the shower yep and i was like i started singing in there i was like yeah fair cool and then i started coming about 13 14 and i tried to hit the vocals like um wham and all that you know how they hit like the high vocals yeah and i nailed that so i was just like all right yeah what were you what were you singing in the shower i sing karma chameleon a lot it's a good song to wash too [Music] you know to be 110 honest i usually sing in my toilet oh man to be honest i think that moment is going to change your life and i'm not just throwing that out there because it changed mine you got something special i would love to nurture that because i think you're amazing i had the fro you got the mullet i think australia's going to love you i love you i know i'd be an amazing coach for you and i'd love you to be on team delta and i think you should come to last year's winner over here i'm very thankful for that [Applause] but i'm gonna go with guys for this battle i've paired two of my youngest artists together adam and elise [Music] elise is definitely something out of the bag adam has a crazy voice i'm so glad that you haven't cut off the mullet nah this is mueller's year this night you can't lose the mullet you can't wear it proudly in my first chair turn i heard something in your voice that to me is now there was a rawness about it you know i didn't have lessons i'm self-taught you just play it by just play by eating that's the best way to be yeah i like singing in my bedroom because i don't get judged i want to prove that i am not just a nobody i'm someone that's going to make music for the world hopefully the second someone mentioned you were all elise and so i've thrown out the block i came on the voice last year and didn't turn a chair and then coming back on the show again i needed to turn a chair sitting in no big white room alone [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] yes when my performance finished i just could not help but cry i did it you crushed it crushed it [Music] i'm super excited about this battle i've chosen a song which you you might oh no you might oh no it's intro well firstly it's by a female okay look this song's wrecking ball oh what's your it's a massive song they're both gonna really rise to the occasion i came in like i never hit so hard in love wow elise is a vocal powerhouse she is reveling in this opportunity all i wanted was to break you up all you ever did was [Music] elise is amazing she definitely has a vocal range i do not want to do this song just straight throw it out there starts off a little bit higher the thing i love about it is when elise comes in it's like it's comfortable for her to me it feels like when you come in up there as well people aren't going to really expect it and so i feel like the crowd's going to be like whoa you know i don't like that you know yeah but you just started it sounds like we'll get it i promise you we'll yeah i think it's easy to forget with adam that he's 16 years old i mean the guy is so full of self-doubt he thinks he can't hit these notes we'll work on little techniques to get you to creep up to the note you don't need to be like we kissed we fell you know what i mean you can be like we're kiss we fell all right yeah okay okay come on man i know i know it's so easy to crumble under the pressure of a battle adam gets easily overwhelmed and i want to see him overcoming those fears elise seems ready you know she faced rejection last year she's back with a vengeance she's got a mission i really want to witness [Music] this is like a true battle both of these guys have a point to prove and i want to see how many people i can touch here in your heart i've worked too hard to not make it all the way i'm gonna try and give people something that they haven't seen this could be really special [Music] [Music] don't bodybuilder as well josh raw talon my rough diamonds oh no way josh how's it going mate seeing josh i was excited my kind of style likes to power sing like ah sort of thing like he's good he's a good bloke what can you say about adam the dude's just talent on talent it's freezing you're a bodybuilder let's warm up what do we do can we do chin ups do we have a chin up bar or something no i can't even do one do we have mate my fat covered body i won't be able to do one chin up oh my god this is actually happening right now oh yeah we're doing it come on yeah come on let's go pull ups it wasn't exactly the kind of warm-up i was expecting three two one oh i'm good with that i've paired adam and josh together because they're they're both very inexperienced we're at the playoffs now i've gotta start challenging them so i've chosen the weekend as our theme mm-hmm yeah sort of got a bit of a rock version of blinding lights for you okay yeah and call out my name for you yeah there you go [Music] can we stop there what i feel like is you're battling scotty here and wanting him to speed up and i think you just need to chill a little bit with it he is a bit kind of hard to to to get his attention i need some level of focus from him i helped you out off a broken plane you're rushing again this is all about being soulful and sitting in the tempo and being relaxed like we found each other i helped you out of a broken face it's hard to try and pull back off that ballad having adhd it's hard to focus this song is a lot different to what i do i do like big power but this is like a it's like a mellow just feel for it get the feel for it my other ones were bang bang bang right big like i gotta be still it's a challenge but i am taking it in we found each other [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] my [Music] i'll be hey guy ultimately this is your team uh only one person can win this playoff over to you josh you've worked your bum off to get to where you're at right now you know with your voice and with your performance when i tell you something i could tell you next week i want you to be in purple spandex and cowboy boots and and a hat and you'd you would just do it because you want to please but the danger in that is is that i'm not seeing someone that necessarily has this real sense of identity and then you adam you've got this really beautiful voice um sometimes your your focus goes a little bit askew and if you had the work ethic that josh had it would be like the perfect artist um so i'm really lost as to what's more important and and so i guess when i make my decision it's a decision based on on who i think for the person watching at home they would look at this artist and and feel like they've got a bit more of an identity right now [Applause] and um that to me is you adam for the showdowns we get to pick our own song straight off the bat i was like luis capaldi he's got that vocal like oh like i really like [Music] it's a great song for you the obvious parallel for a lot of people and even online they're referring to you as almost australia's answer to louis capaldi you know you've got something really raw about you i love that you're doing this song i just want to make sure that adam sticks out as an artist it sucks being compared to someone else but for him to get through i need to know that there is more dimensions to adam as you're saying those words dude think about what you're saying i feel like if you've got that in your mind that will probably cause you i hope to pull things out that you haven't pulled out before really establish who you are as an artist i have to make this song my own if i don't go out there and give guy a performance that he hasn't seen before it was much knowledge somebody to hold that song and you know people know your age they know that you're young uh but you represent what i love about this show you know we've got established singers and people who have done this for a long time and we're giving them a stage to show what they do but then there's little rough diamonds and you keep getting called a rough diamond because that's what you are you've got something really really special and we knew it from the beginning i'm so pumped that you chose me and i'm so glad that you got to choose the song i know you've been wanting to sing louis capaldi the whole time so yeah how did that feel you got it you did it thank you so much and yeah it felt amazing i really felt in the moment there you know it's just oh yeah it was thank you so much the person i'll be taking
