The TRUTH about Rise of the RONIN - how to Guide Prepare for its Open world Features and Mechanics

welcome back to our video today we're going to dive into rise of the Ronin and tell you all about some things that will change the way you see this game going forward whether you're purchasing it already purchased it or on the fence this should pretty much be the definitive video to help you with that first and foremost there's a lot to talk about so I want to break down just core if for those that don't know rise of ronin is made by team ninja and they are known for their action games they do a lot of great things things like ninja giden Neo recently they made Wu long and now rides it are Ronin if you played any of those games you would know that they are pretty much some of the Pioneers to help the John ra forward and now they're setting off to an open world experience today's video we're not going to be talking talking about too much of the combat or too much of Team ninja and all of the things that they've done we want to stick to rise of the Ronin and teach you exactly what to expect and some secret things that are going to help you prepare for your journey as you go forward okay so here we go if you might have heard me talk a lot about the two twin blades hidden blades and you have two characters that you can create and their storyline will play out within the game and it's some really amazing Synergy between them because there's gameplay mechanics where you can swap between them too during missions um in and out whenever you have a companion you can always swap to Great mechanic but the story also has to do with these two characters that you begin the game with and that you create you're going to be starting off deciding what type of character they're going to be and I want to kind of give you guys just a little quick view of the character creation as you can see here there's things like the hair face and so much more somebody's already making some interesting characters and then you go down the line there's female characters you can see the hairs there's a lot of creativity there so you're going to have a variety when it comes to creating your character but what I wanted to focus on is this right here this is the blade sharpening origin this is going to be your base of the build aka the class that you're going to be picking and this is going to be pivotal and the reason I wanted to bring this up I got a lot of deep RPG elements mechanics that I'm going to reveal today and help you understand what to expect with this game so once you get into this you're going to see the multiple classes that are in the game and we want to pay attention to the four different stats you have strengths dexterity charm and intelligence okay these are all critical they're not just about your weapons but this game has a true RPG system you can persu you can intimidate and there's so much more you can do seduce people there's a lot of different elements in this game and I want to showcase the classes now from what we see there is six okay the killer breaker Seducer zapper beginner and and sharpened okay now we haven't got to see which and what each of these will do but the point here is that this is critical on top of making an awesome build with the right weapon you're going to start off with going to tell you what recommendations for that specific build and the skill for example this is a liar right here when it comes to the Seducer he's going to be a liar he's going to be able to manipulate and so this is one way to play the game and it's a pivotal part of the experience and I know this is a picture and it's not as entertaining but trust me this is the most important part because I'm going to break things down on the mechanics of the game and how it works so let's just say you picked a Seducer and you have a liar and then you're going to have the blade and then the pole armor for your weapons and these are going to be your beginning stats you got a lot of charm to start off with some good dexterity well balanced for the most part okay this is critical for the game and now we're going to dive into a couple of key things that might get you even more excited about this game so it is an open world game you're going to get out there and there's different regions each region you're going to have the chance to help out the village okay let's say the villagers are getting invaded let's say there's some enemy camps and things like that different elements that are happening dynamically in the map and they will ask for your help or you can just help it randomly and it will help build your bond with that region which will in turn unlock things like a dojo for a specific play style and this is where the combat comes into play if you want to be great with a dual swords double swords you're going to be able to specifically work for a clan and build up that region unlock that Dojo work with a historical character who's probably great with that sword he'll train you there's things like that that will happen but what I wanted to talk about is a few key components one what we just talked about you pick the Seducer class who's more of a liar so when you're in situations there's branching narratives and you're going to be able to lie your way or like I said you can intimidate which will make it like if you're a tough guy and then on top of that you can just figure out whatever method works for your specific play style it's going to all flow together and this is where that RPG comes even deeper than before when it comes to other games and how they're setting up their systems specifically so as you go along you'll be doing these things and unlocking stuff now the reason I want to take a pause on that because I want to talk about a gameplay concept for example let's say you stopping an invasion from some faction and when you get to the end boss you're beating him and right as you're about to finish him off he begs for his lives you can save him and then later on in the game get what he might pop up this isn't a spoiler hopefully you guys don't think it's spoiler because I don't believe it's a spoiler let me know in the comments if you do think it is but it's just a simple mechanic that can happen consistently with more than just one person and that will in turn possibly allow you to see them again and maybe have to fight them again and what's going to happen is with that second fight you might have to spare them again and this is where they will be willing to train you they will be willing to work with you maybe take you to their Dojo give you new weapons give you new armor so there's a big system of play here personally I'm going to try to do a full nonlethal run from the very start if they allow me for the most part if I can go non-lethal I'm going to try that at least against the bosses and and that would be very cool if they did a system where you can beat every boss without killing them sparing everybody possible because we are trying to save Japan in the end of the day so for me this is my goal I love Japan in real life like I want to live there at some point in my life but it's such a interesting time because the Civil War that was happening and all the westerners coming in as well trying to invade and take over as well so was so much going on but you can do what you want with the RPG system okay we know team Ninja for the combat we know and we're watching like amazing footage right there's no question here that this game looks fun interesting and it's going to be a blast that's not what we questioning here the question and the conversation to try to help you guys is to understand that yes wow this is going to be a lot deeper than just hacking and slashing and there's so many different variables that can play out maybe I'm I don't pick the Seducer CU I don't like the weapons or maybe I just wanted to be intimidating and I go with strength and I have the great sword and different weapons like that compared to what you have is is a Seducer and you're more focused on lying and manipulating and persuading people while I'm intimidating people and so our game play can be very different and our storyline because there's going to be multiple endings will also play out differently so I just want to see how all this plays out and the main thing that I wanted to talk about today is your expectations to help you set the bar on what this open world is going to offer right there's a lot of mechanics that we might have seen from other games put together into one but they're very unique because you have a lot of different Dynamics you have two main characters you can control both of them you will end up playing as one as the main character but the second one will show up and partner up with you uh as we've seen in some footage and that's important because the storyline can change depending on what you do and what you don't do and how will that relationship work out as well as the relationship with the people with the different factions that you might side with and someone else will play totally different so those are the type of things you want to think about and look at and try to to assess on wow I'm going to experience this my way and I want to get into it in a deep way so now I'm going to take a moment and give you guys the story trailer for a second here and I want to showcase a few things with this one it's very important that you understand the factions and how this system is working it's very unique and special for me because I've studied this and we're going to start off with the Western forces you have people from the Navy you have Europe different parts of the world America and so on coming to Japan trying to make them open up their borders for trade and for more trying to take over as usual and so that is a critical part of the game because you have historical figures like Matthew Perry here and much more that are super interesting and engaging when when it comes to what his goal is and how he's going about it and then as you can see this gentleman right here is also helping along the way with that and so there's going to be factions working together and you can literally just partner up with these guys and say let me get all of the weapons I want the rifles I want pistols I want the Cannons machine guns whatever it takes and you'll be good to go with that play style can make you a lot stronger okay and that's super interesting but of course if you take the moment and you say hey I'm going to go with the Shogun it these guys are the traditional samurai Protectors of Japan they basically took over from the emperor and the royal family from Japan which which was for the Empire and now they've controlled things so they're the 's pretty much under attack because they have had the ruling and control for the most part and it's like okay well they're also in conflict with everybody so it is super interesting you start building relationships and bonds with them manipulating by lying or you can intimidate them and so on so this is going to be interesting and this is the true samurai way but there's more than just one Samurai and that's where this game does get very interesting because the traditional samurai are also oppressive in the in the Japan times when they were basically taking control of the governments over there now you have the anti- shuns and this is the one that I think a lot of us will probably love story-wise because it we kind of all relate to anti-government anti- Authority as kids and then when we get older we understand that we have to do better in society so sometimes having this type of hey let's do better and break from the Traditions so the anti- shogan are definitely very cool and this guy is going to be key at the very start he's going to be a pivotal player he's world famous we'll get into him in another video and talk about all his skills and weapons and the what things he can train you with if you stick with him and work with his factions and there's multiple people in the faction that you can work with so this is going to be super interesting on what your decision making will be and how you're going to play this there's no wrong answers guys okay I'm not here to sway you and this isn't a video about trying to persuade anybody or this um movement you we are going to co-op so if you come to my play through we definitely want to do things right but as as far as enjoying yourself and figuring out what relationships you want to build what bonds you want to have with different factions it's going to be critical and just to kind of note that I didn't touch on I just want to teach you guys the mechanics and help you say okay I get what I'm in for when it comes to the open world and things I'll have to do whether it's clearing out banded camps um odd jobs from from different people side missions and things like that what I can tell you is that your weapons are tied to these factions your stances are also tied to these factions so it's not just about the story and the and how that would play out as far as the branching narratives and multiple endings it's also your specific play style so let's get into that very quickly so I can show you what I mean so here you have all of the weapons when not all of them but a lot of them there's about nine if you can see nine different ones here there's more than that in the game I believe but what we want to look at is over here all right there's combat Styles this is one style that you see here from rayu I call them rayu by the way and then there's within the style there's three stances so you can see I can equi any stance I want High stance low stance and medium but I can switch them up we've seen the game play showcase variations of people putting on different stances and what's important is as you can see right here style type is called 10 okay and then it's going to give you all of the key things for your build and your play style which is right here you have dexterity and intelligence as the main two ways to play with this play style and that's going to be different than the charm one that we saw in the beginning for the Persuader this will be a whole different play style then what I want to note is that each of these will unlock martial art attacks each of these will have unique martial arts attacks you can see there isn't one on the slot with R1 and O but you're going to be able to equip one and find them by training now we're going to go in here and show you how we do all those things guess what you're going to build a bond I'm only at level three in this clip this this picture but you can go to level four and unlock all the martial arts attacks plus you can trained to level up and not be a novice and be able to upgrade and boost yourself very high okay so there's a lot and I mean a lot to get into with this system and I'm going to have videos but what I want to talk about is this right here the relationships you're able to build relationships with multiple characters how will your relationships play out will be determined by you and the actions you take or don't take things that you can do whether it's side mission main missions and just general activities throughout the game even challenges going to play a role now think about it let's say you lie a lot and then they cat you in your lie through the story guess what you're going to be in big trouble you might lose access to some of this so the key for me when I make a videos in the near future the first thing I want to teach is how to unlock everything as as much as possible allowed in this game okay so that is super exciting to me I'm very interested to see how we can do that but that is the systems and this is what you can expect for this game as you go forward being able to pick specific weapons have a class and then overall the experience for the story of what you should expect all right I hope
