when you think of the most powerful magic items in D and D you probably think of the Holy Avenger the staff of the Magi or you might even think of artifacts like VNA hand and eye but what if I told you there was something even more powerful than all of those that's right in this video I'm going to be telling you about the strongest magic item in D and D the obelisks obelisks have appeared in some way shape or form in many D and D Adventures including out of the Abyss Storm King Thunder and most recently and found Delver and below the shattered oblisk where one of these ancient structures plays a major role at the heart of the story the first of these obis were created by a mysterious group known as the Weavers and they were created to undo life-threatening events great calamities that could destroy entire worlds the earliest of these OBS were capable of turning entire regions or even entire worlds back in time rewriting reality on a magnificent scale but now you might be asking if the obelisks are so powerful why aren't they featured more in D and D books and lore well that's because of the whispered one himself that's right vcna the undying VNA heard of the power of these obelisks and stole the secrets of them and used that power to erase all knowledge of the Weavers from existence but that's not where the story of the oblisk ends centuries passed and the lore of how to create oblisk began to seep throughout the world an empire in the Forgotten Realms called Neil would become one of the most notable factions for creating dozens of new ois no two of which would to contain the same abilities but each were nonetheless dangerous and Powerful most of the original purposes of the nether obelisks were unknown but some of the effects included the ability to trap dangerous creatures inside and just like the oblisk the Weavers created even capable of turning back time in the event of Calamity the Neal Empire eventually fell and the neth people were scattered across Forgotten Realms or outright destroyed the secrets of the obisk would again be lost for many centuries and new construction of these artifacts would dwindle with little to none being made after the fall of the Empire now that doesn't mean you can't use obelisks in your d& campaign your party might stumble across one of these ancient artifacts in some long forgotten dungeon or even retrieve pieces of an opis to construct one of their own incorporating oblisk into your D and D campaign can be both exciting and terrifying and the possibilities with such magic items are endless they're a great tool to engage your players and for DMS to add mystery and entry to your world I I merely scratch the surface of what the oist are capable of in this video and I would highly recommend any DM to incorporate one of these ancient artifacts into your D andd campaign if you enjoyed this video it would be highly appreciated if you liked subscribed and left a comment on what you'd like to see next from the dungeon fellas if you want to see the moment our party turn back time using an obelisk you can see that video on screen now and also a playlist the full episodes of our playthrough of fandel below the shadowed oblisk thanks for watching [Music]
