i'm going home with jesus in the twinkling of an eye i made my reservation for mansion in the sky i may not know the moment and i may not know the day but i know that i'll be leaving when he calls his [Music] come on church is anybody thankful this morning is there a praise in the house you know there was a time in my life where i didn't always have a praise i didn't always have a shout but god reached down one day back 15 years ago in l.a saw a lost individual with no direction no aim but i want somebody to know today that god is still in the saving business amen god is still able to reach down and loose you from your shackles and break your chains and your federals and turn you around and place your feet on solid ground hallelujah i'm thankful today to be saved sanctified delivered and on my way to see jesus amen we want to welcome everyone to the sanctuary apostolic church if we have any guests in the house we are so glad that you're here to worship with us amen and also we just have one uh one message today here if you're interested in a last-minute men's camping trip this friday night speak with brother daryl baker amen [Music] praise the lord um my wife and i are foster parents if you don't know look at our bench we got eight this morning but we go to a foster parent conference every year went twice last year and i've been through this session twice and i brought it to brother bertram and asked him about having it presented here at the church and so one one wednesday either the 13th between the 13th of october and the first wednesday in november we're going to have the operation save team team is going to come here and speak you will not want to miss this and if your children if you feel like your children are too small to see pictures of people that have been in car wrecks and people in hospital beds my wife and i will provide child care she didn't know that she found out right exactly the same time you have but we've been through this session twice it teaches you about drugs that can be bought at the gas station it teaches you about what drunk drunk driving can do it teaches you about what your phone your child's phone the ramifications that it can have on you and your child because if you come out of this and you don't learn anything then you're way smarter than i am if you come out of this and you're not scared to death then you're way more of a man than i am because it terrifies me to think of the things that our children face and it can affect us and it can affect them so i think it'll be a good thing we're going to do it like i say it's going to be one wednesday night between the 13th and the 1st november they haven't got back with me to let me know but i wanted you to let your friends know and you do not want to miss that wednesday night especially if you have children that are in middle school or above you don't want to miss it because it's going to help them promise it'll help them it'll open their eyes and it'll open your eyes because there's a lot that affects them that they might do that can affect you whether you know it or not but anyway i want you to let you know it's operation safe teens and oddly enough it's by the abc board the alcohol alcoholic beverage control board of alabama but they probably know more about this than anybody else because they have to deal with both sides so you won't want to miss that and we'll let you know the exact date praise the lord i have a couple announcements the first one is pastor appreciation everybody say october 17th october 17th we do have a dinner afterward this is the part i really need you to listen to there is no charge everybody say no charge there is no charge for the dinner afterward however it is a ticketed event and this is just to avoid waste or you know not having enough food we want to make sure that we know that your face is going to be in the place so that we can have exactly what we need and be able to accommodate everybody so you must rsvp to brother roy westbrook raise your hand brother roy look at that nice suit everybody look at it he's gonna oh and he's a very nice person as well yes um so you must rsvp to brother way breast book all right now i'm gonna take just about 32 seconds so i may be seated for just a moment just a second brother burton's freaking out right now it's okay all right how many of you this is my second announcement how many of you enjoy fast food it's okay it's okay i worked as a teenager i worked at wendy's i worked at taco bell i still eat both of those places i don't anyway i love it you know how many of you don't like fast food you're like i do not eat it it's terrible i don't know but how many of you whether you like it or you're not you still go be like we we just got a minute let's i'm gonna run in get me a big mac half this church works at chick-fil-a um so that one is that one i don't know we give our allowances for chick-fil-a but anyway so let me ask you the common thing among among fast food and i'm here to convict you i'm just gonna let you know um what is what is the main reason why even if you're like i cannot stand fast food it's awful it's greasy it's nasty but we go because it is convenient [Music] it's quick it's convenient it's cheap exactly we go because it's convenient we know that when we go to mcdonald's they're probably gonna mess up our order and guess what we know we're gonna have to go park we know we're gonna have to go in we know we're gonna have to tell the the lady or the gentleman y'all i was in the drive-through i this was supposed to have no pickles still has pickles you pray pray over it when you get it back just in case someone that made it and took the pickles off was having a bad day they didn't do anything to your burger because you anyway we know it's not always the best quality right and we even sometimes have low expectations there's been many times where i go through the drive-through and i'm like they messed my order all up and it's okay i ain't even gonna say nothing i'm just gonna eat what they gave me it's fine so now i wanna ask you is that how sometimes and i'm not here to preach but i'm just saying this is that how sometimes we approach our ministry or how we serve in the church we know what we're good at i'm good at doing this so i'm gonna keep with what i know i sing soprano i know how to sing soprano good so i'm just gonna stick with what i know i ain't trying to learn nothing else about any other ministries y'all gonna crack up when i tell you what this is actually about but i'm not trying to learn anything else i i'm good at what i know and i'm just gonna go with this we know what we can throw together i'm gonna be completely honest with you i used to teach uh sunday school um the three four five year olds oh shucks there are many nights where i'm like oh they're just three four and five year olds i'll read the lesson when i get to church ah i didn't take a whole lot of time because i knew what i could throw together i knew what i was good at and i just got it together what is stopping us from improving improving my music team hears me say this all the time do not let your good get in the way of your greats i'm good at things but when i'm serving the lord what's stopping me from saying i want to be great what's stopping me from saying i want to serve to my utmost ability with the spirit of excellence do we not want to hold ourselves accountable for the new knowledge that we might obtain if we start learning about how to do what we do or things that we don't do already we don't like if i learn how to do that then i'm gonna be expected to do it because i know how to do it it's okay you don't have to amen just feel it in your heart all right there's a quote that i love and it says there's a difference between perfecting your craft and trying to be perfect some people use the excuse of avoiding the ladder to avoid the former well i'll never be as good as sister susie so i'm just now i'm gonna try or i'll never be perfect nobody is so i'm not gonna do it all right let that rest for a minute now i'm going to tell you what this is really about on october 30th we're having our fall festival and we need volunteers to help us run our fall festival y'all thought i was gonna get deep up in here y'all thought i was and i didn't all right again brother westbrook would you stand he's a fine gentleman i appreciate him i love him so much and he's got a very nice suit if you are interested brother westbrook get ready to get your glasses on if wanna break i don't want just a typical ordinary sunday morning service amen so on the count of three and then we're going to go ahead and collect the offering afterwards but i wonder everybody want a move of god right now the bible says that god inhabits the praises of his people so what that means to me that if we're going to get god to dwell in our midst then praises need to go up and i need god to be right where i am this morning i got situations in my life that i need god to move on i don't know about you but 15 years ago god pulled me up out of darkness he pulled me up out of drugs he brought me out of incarceration he turned me around and there's still a fire that burns fervently inside of me and i still need that same god that never changes today so that tells me that if praises go up we can get god here and i will miss this morning so on the count of three with the help of the sanctuary i want everybody unrestrained set all the sit all the distractions to the side no pride just unrestrained just lift up your voice with as much as you would want god to bestow upon you and we're just going to shout hallelujah anybody with me one two three [Music] come on clap your hands gather around our pastor and his wife these are our leaders and as they go so go we so if you're having a struggle we need to help them and i want everybody to participate even if you're not a member here you can come up here and we're going to pray for our pastor and his wife i haven't done this in a long time but i felt very strongly to do it this morning and so we want to pray for them because we need them to have strength we need them to have wisdom we need them to be able to direct us we need them to have god's direction we need them to have his his ear we need them we need everything about them to be directed from god and i want us to pray for them right now [Music] i see you [Music] when there was no way [Music] i'll see you do it again [Music] i believe me [Music] i'll see you know we tend to think of the midnight hour as a place of darkness and we look at it in the literal sense i want to just serve notice to us all we are in the midnight hour the darkness is not something that's affected by sunlight naturally the darkness is the darkness of this world the condition this world is in and we are definitely in the midnight hour and the church has been under a lot of different attacks but god's gonna work it [Music] whoa [Music] hallelujah god's gonna work god is doing a work [Music] and i'm thankful for everything that god's doing i don't know is he is he hiding behind you system area a few weeks ago covered smoke brother terry jones the cove is gone but the pneumonia was what was the real battle after that brother jones we're gonna give you your space just want you to know that church everybody knows that we're gonna give you your space but we love you we're so glad you're with us hallelujah praise god i'm thankful for what all god's doing and um there's a whole lot of things happening and honestly i appreciate that part of the song for shifting to that song but that when you slowed that down and started singing that those verses that last song i just won't know if you sing it again it's like everything in this service has been orchestrated to help everybody to understand i had a whole message prepared and i went to change my font in my bible program in my study notes a whole message and i went to because there's multiple fonts that are being happening when you're putting everything in your notes i went to i went to complete the message and selected the whole message went to the font i've done it a thousand times without an issue change the font change the size to where i could read it all on my ipad hit the button and it all disappeared it all disappeared i was telling sister jan a while ago about it happening and she said well god's got a plan you know what i'm realizing now that's the message [Music] when you get it all figured out think you're ready to put it all in final print and you go to hit the button god's got a better plan [Music] there ain't no message that i can print that'll compare to what god's got it's got in store for those that love him let's go back to this psalm for a moment let her talk to us [Music] walking around these walls i thought by now they'd fall [Music] but you have never stop right there and come back to it we're gonna sing that again walking around wait a minute this is for every child of god in this place they thought that by now you'd have it figured out they thought by now you you you could relate to paul setting aside every weight and sin which just so easily beset me and you figured by now you'd have it all figured out whoo i feel my holy ghost right now i'm going to school so but we'll just keep them in our prayers i want to tell you something god's been showing me in the last few weeks jesus met when he sat on this in the sermon on the mount the blesseds and he taught us something he said pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you [Music] huh and there are different levels of how people negatively affect others but it doesn't matter the level what matters is the one that really winds up getting the blessing is not always the one being prayed for but it is always the one doing the praying [Music] hallelujah and i'm thankful because the lord is strengthening the church and sometimes the process is rather um it's quite the process that's the only way to describe it but um i'm reminded of an old andre crouch song it says through it all through it all kind of the wrong key for me well maybe it's a reiki but i'm singing way low i've learned to trust in jesus anybody learning to trust him you have to keep learning to trust him you can't ever arrived at i've learned it's a constant process of learning to trust him because life keeps changing and then i learn all over again hallelujah hallelujah and there's just man i'm excited about what god's doing and and no i know some of you might wonder whatever uh i've not backslid or anything like that i just you know i just every now and then something in me doesn't forget that we're all first called to be saints and then even the pastor every now and then needs to make a truth to the altar hallelujah ah and it might not be affecting you but it's just just hearing myself say it just does something in my spirit that just says oh just don't ever forget that hallelujah hallelujah there is there's something about leaving wherever you happen to be and if you think it's hard to approach from the back they come to the front it's harder to go from the pulpit in front of everybody because you're carrying in your mind i wonder what they're thinking but then the other part of you says god this ain't about them and me this is about you and me ah oh come on somebody why because i got a whole lot of life behind me and i've got however many days yet in front of me and in the midst of it all i want to be able to say i've learned to trust in jesus i've learned come on somebody i've learned hallelujah hallelujah i want to say a very very heartfelt and grateful thank you to our praise and worship team today hallelujah and our musicians they're part of the team and especially i appreciate the sound thank you for the media and all of that but especially those ones that get the words up there because if it wasn't for that i would be as lost as a duck in a hail storm hallelujah so i rely so heavily so i'm very thankful for that my message i had prepared was out of job 32. and it's from the words of elihu i think it's 32 and seven are on there now just keep scrolling i'll tell you when you get there keep going keep going keep going keep going you're not going fast enough armor bearer that you are and this thing all right here we go hallelujah okay there it is it's actually 32 and 8. but there is a spirit in man and i've preached on that but the last part and the inspiration of the almighty giveth them understanding elijah was in defense of god as were job's friends but joe's friends were in defense of god and in condemnation of job elijah was not in condemnation of job he was just strictly in defense of god oh he dealt with job in minor ways but he's basically defending god and he was saying but there is something that god put in man that the inspiration of the almighty can connect to and that is your spirit and when the almighty connects to your spirit and when understanding comes that's when you start singing through it all [Music] through it all i've learned to trust in jesus i've learned to trust in god through it all through it all [Music] i've learned to depend upon his word i'm going to tell y'all something you can pray through all you want to talk in tongues all you want to if you want to find out where the real strength comes from where the real joy comes from go back to his word it'll sustain you praise god all right well i'm going to come back another day and preach it but it's not going to be today god's undone his work in this place now i do need to say that this is an apostolic church and we are god's people and we are apostolic and we make no apologies for it so if you're looking for a holy ghost-filled apostolic truth-loving place where you can come and you can be a part of a bunch of people that are just gonna call white white and black black and we're not interested in compromising and we're not interested in stereotyping and we're not interested in all the stuff that the world's trying to do but we just want to get to heaven and we want to hear god say well done now good and faithful servant if you were looking for that you're in the right place hallelujah hallelujah i wonder if all over this house we could stand once more to our feet again i want to say brother jones it's so good to see in the house of the lord you jesus and again i'm saying to the church those that have ears to hear let them hear in other words those that have understanding understand what i'm saying we're going to give him space hallelujah and let him get stronger and he has had quite a battle with this pneumonia and all the subsequent things of it and so i want us to be highly highly respectful and aware that and he'll he'll admit this that he's not at a hundred percent before we all start moving in close let's let him get a little bit closer to it all right all right i wonder if we could just do this everybody turn around extend your hand towards that corner back there lord god we love you and we thank you for your presence and your anointing in this place god we thank you for what you have done thus far for our dear brother god we ask o lord that your healing virtue your power will continue to uphold him lord that the strength that we enter even more into his body lord that you would touch him mind body soul and spirit lord that everything uh will be restored we give you the praise we give you the honor we give you the glory lord jesus and everybody said amen hallelujah god bless you stay full of the holy ghost jesus name amen
