praise the lord good to be in church on a wednesday night amen all right well we got a few excited praise god all right do have a few announcements but before we get to those i just want to say welcome to the apostolic sanctuary pentecostal church sanctuary apostolic pentecostal church however you want to say that it's good to be here tonight amen praise god there's something refreshing about coming in on a wednesday night after you've been out in the world not that [Music] the holy ghost is washes off of you or anything but there's just something about coming together with god's people when you've been out with other people amen praise god if you're a front-line praise singer please remember there's a meeting in the prayer room immediately following service also remember our pastor appreciation service is sunday october 17th close your ears there will be a lunch following the service like he doesn't know but to be sure that we have an accurate head count for the lunch please make sure that you rsvp there is no charge for the lunch okay everybody said amen that means it's free but we do need you to rsvp [Music] so that way we can avoid any waste and we can also make sure we know who's coming you must rsvp by october 6th to have a place setting please rsvp to brother roy westbrook as soon as possible so everybody got that october 6th is your deadline amen praise god it is good to be in church on a wednesday night it seems like i don't know about y'all but it seems like every wednesday about 5 30 at my office there's a crisis i can go tuesday monday thursday and friday and there's no crisis but every wednesday about 5 30 there's some kind of crisis or emergency that happens and it happened today so i had intentions of i'm going to get out of there at 5 30 i'll be church at 6 15 and it's six i think it was 6 35 i'm pulling up in the parking lot because people people in the office customers we have to deal with but sometimes if you just in life you'll just push through and i know i'm taking a little time but it's wednesday night we got a little time y'all don't have anywhere to go but to bed after this pastor said that a couple of times i think you know if we'll push through some things sometimes some things in life some things in living for god if you can push through those things there is a hope and a light on the other side and sometimes we just got to push through sometimes you know brother bertram's talked about it sometimes we pray and it seems like there's just an iron lid on heaven and we can't touch god [Music] but i know if you'll keep praying god hears he hears every prayer you pray [Music] he hears every word that we say that we cry out to him if we'll just do that and if we'll get in that mindset tonight that we know that god hears us and he wants to do something for us in this place i believe there's somebody can have a momentous night tonight somebody can get a word whether it's one word you get that helps you for the rest of this week or for the rest of your life you can get a word tonight that will impact your life i believe that praise god well i'm going to get out of the way let's pray for the offering and let's worship god tonight dear lord jesus we love you god we thank you for your presence we feel we thank you for a chance to come and gather with like precious people lord jesus that believe in your brother smith has already stated it's a lot of places we could be thank god for this place amen what makes it this place is twofold blessing it's of course ultimately the blessing of the lord being with us but then being with each other hallelujah and um we draw strength from one another and i'm thankful for god's people tonight hallelujah and um i want to make a disclaimer quickly at 5 30 thing yeah that happens everywhere i guess yesterday they started putting a new hvac system in the little house next door and it was we thought it'd be you know done by today and um at 5 30 it was total chaos over there and i finally slid through threaded my way through little gaps you know it's a good thing i'm so skinny some of y'all just flat out laughed at that anyway and uh made my way through there and gathered my me some clothes together that's how i forgot my tie i had to go back because i forgot my t-shirt and then i went so i went and then i forgot my wife wanted a phone charger and so i had to go back again and finally when i realized i'd forgotten the tie i said forget it and um so you know i i was gathering it all up so i could finally you know i i'd waited all afternoon i thought they'll be out of there at five i'll just stay in the office all grungy you know until five then i'll run over there so if you get too close to me tonight and i got a little scruff uh it's because blame it on the hvac guys that said i have a couple of uh requests one of them is if there's two or three or guys that wouldn't mind helping me right after service i need to put the topper back on that truck that we've just been sitting in the back so it's really when you got three four guys it's pretty light when you got one guy it gets kind of bulky and kind of heavy and awkward and hard to do so a few in mind uh somebody wouldn't mind helping me a little bit with that i would appreciate that so much i don't remember what the other thing was right now i'll probably think of in the middle preaching and we'll stop and blurt it out kind of then i'll have to figure out where i was at preaching uh you know how that works um so here we are man i sure do love y'all i wanna i wanna i wanna i wanna tell y'all something how many knows and understands that the lord works in mysterious ways you know his wonders to behold and um god god orchestrates things sometimes you don't even know he's orchestrating and uh yesterday i reached out to one of our men in the church that um just a good solid man and um we've been talking about you know eating lunch somewhere and hadn't really had to spend months months a year possibly in so i reached out to him yesterday just and said hey how about tomorrow and it worked out and so 11 30 and the first thing out of his mouth when we were i he was already sitting there met over jubilee joe's heartburn city for me and uh because all that spice and stuff but um i i sat down at the table and one of the very first things he said to me was intriguing and i i didn't really think about it until standing over here a few moments ago and the lord spoke to me and said i orchestrated that and he said he's in he's probably watching this so i'm gonna try to get it right uh but i did uh sit down for a moment this afternoon and my eyes closed which which means i've slept between now and then but anyway he made the statement he said you know he said i when my wife and i were deciding um who's going to be our pastor and when we move to this area and i went to a lot of different places a lot of different churches and uh he said in my job he said i deal a lot with yes people yes people he said it's wrong i can say whatever yesterday yesterday yesterday he said i i really don't want yes people i want people that i want to know i want to know what you're thinking i want to know i want your input just do it the right way obviously but i'm paraphrasing but then he made this statement he said that the very first time that we sat down to eat we were in conversation he said it was our first conversation and and you rebuked me and in my mind i'm going i did and he goes on he explains and then i recalled but and he said something that kind of blew me away he was like that's when i decided i don't need a yes person don't need somebody that no i need somebody that will that will tell me he said now did i agree with your no i didn't agree i still don't agree but that's what made me decide you were a pastor and this is where i wanted to bring bring my family and i thought that is so opposite of the world around us if you don't you know they come in the door all the time saying what do you have for me what do you have for me what is this fit for me and somebody comes along and says you know what it was your opposition that drew me to you because i'm going to tell you there's always going to be differences but when differences become division hallelujah we got a problem i want to i want to draw our attention tonight to an entire chapter in the book of genesis chapter 27. hopefully somewhere along the way i'll remember that other something but i was up here when i was thinking of them and i didn't have a pen so i couldn't write them down is there anything i'm forgetting dear she doesn't know okay well she doesn't know it's not too important because if it's important she'll i got a good wife oh by the way support case i get in trouble he asked me did i want to bring you something i was i couldn't think of what to to bring you and so he said he was going to tell on me so i'm telling army now so you can't and so um but i i figured well i'll bring her back anytime she wants to go to jupiter praise the lord genesis 27 came to pass when isaac was old his eyes were dim that he could not see he called esau his eldest son said unto him my son and he said unto him behold you're mine he said be all now i'm old i know not the day of my death now therefore take i pray thee thy weapons that quiver thy bow and pay attention right here go out into the field and take me some venison in other words shoot a deer and bring some venison with you and make me savory meat such as i love and bring it to me that i may eat that my soul may bless thee before i die and oh there's a million things i could i could name what i want to touch on tonight i thought of multiple titles but i think i think i'll just call this tonight the venison and the veal the venison and the veal all right lord we thank you for your word i pray that you'll bless this place that your anointing and your presence and spirit will be here in a mighty way god that your word will open up to us expand unto us help us oh god help me to help whosoever is in need in this house in the name jesus i pray everybody said amen god bless you okay goes on i was going to read the whole chapter and i thought you know it's wednesday night and i may not get the floor till 7 30. um and i i already didn't i was made aware that i did a hour and 20 minutes or recently and uh so i think i might better hurry along tonight so here's the deal rebecca hears isaac speak to esau rebecca who's the mother isaac's wife speaks to her other son and she says go to the flock and from there get me two good kids of the goats thank you sir i just realized cheers i don't know who started that cheers business but i it always elicits a little humor go the flock and fetch me two kids of the goats and take that to your father that he may eat before he dies jacob says rebecca esau is hairy and i am smooth and his mother says well here's what we'll do then and i'm i'm going quickly through this i'll take the skins of the kids of the goats and i'll basically reverse them to where the hairs on the outside and we'll we'll make little deals to go on your hands and arms in fact i'll even take some of it and i'll put it on the smooth of your neck and you know i don't know if you put it up she put it up on his face and so it dawned on me just how much deception upon deception is actually going on in this passage of scripture to think that somebody can take oh we've heard this said a lot but you got it people make chili everybody and people that are venison and use venison as meat they will make the claim that they can make chili put venison in it and unless you tell folks they won't know the difference between that and a of cow those that dislike venison will stand upon the highest mountain peak and declare that there is no way that this could be possible only to have when all of a sudden there's a big deal going on and it's fall or winter and it's time for chili and somebody makes some chili and they eat it and they finally after eating or in the middle of it i've seen it happen so many times you some of you probably have two and it is revealed to them oh you like that well that's venison and it's it's it's humorous what happens because then it's like oh i don't like it it's like all of a sudden the brain decided to override with the taste buds had been accepting for quite some time everything about jacob during this passage had to be altered he had to feel his father's sight was gone he's relatively blind he could not see and so he's relying on things that he knows that he likes that he can still he can still sense what it is and he's calling isa uh esau and he's saying bring me this venison you know how to fix it make it a savory stew fix it in the way that i like it and bring it and i'm gonna eat it and then i'm gonna bless you the story previously about eating was in that family had to do with esau and jacob and esau coming out of the woods after hunting and jacob has the the lentils or whatever it is there the porridge whatever the soup and esau sells his birthright for a bowl of soup and there are those that would say that what is going on here because of what esau says later in this chapter and we're not we're not going to read the whole thing but a little chapter but esau makes a statement he's already stolen my birthright and now he's stealing the blessing well the reality is is the blessing is part of the birthright and getting to one without the other is like incomplete to say the least what is i felt i felt so strongly the holy ghost impressed upon me was that it is easy to be deceived when you're trusting to your human senses isaac is mixing something he likes in the natural realm with something he's going to do in the spiritual realm and he's saying bring me something that i like naturally that i like that crosses my palate in a very affirmative way bring me something that i like to eat and almost everybody likes to eat there's very few of us that have battled against the uh what is that where you don't want to eat anorexia and lost we could look around shoes coming apart mixing things of the flesh and things of the spirit always leaves you open for deception in fact his ears were still good and as as jacob brought the the veal the goat as jacob brought that the way he had been prepared he comes to his father he says to isaac i'm esau deception i've done what you paid me to do another deception sit and eat of my venison another deception ready for this that thy soul may bless me do a natural natural natural physical physical physical soul whenever deception starts to work never ever make the mistake of thinking that it is going to approach just in the spirit it's always going to find its first line of defense and its first line of offense in the flesh the enemy never deceives us by going straight to our soul the enemy deceives us by appealing to some aspect of our flesh and what's so remarkable about that is isaac says how did you i just sent you out a few moments ago how how did you find the deer so quickly how did you how did this happen so fast i mean this is like was it did it just walk into camp or what's what's going on and jacob's reply is because the lord thy god brought it to me and isaac says come over here i want to feel you whether you're esau or not and jacob draws near and and mom's put that stuff on his and and he jacob and isaac feels of him and he makes this statement i preached it in the past that's not really where i want to go tonight but he says the voice is jacob's but the hands are esau's how can i how can i marry the idea that i'm listening to a voice that sounds like jacob and yet the hands are saying it's esau because when something has affected your sight to where you can't see as you should you have to rely on other senses and when you start relying on other senses when you're used to seeing the other senses are not as acute as they would be had you lived a life without them and so if you're used to seeing and all of a sudden you start relying on the other senses that are not as acute to make up the difference of not seeing then as a result those senses can be deceived also and you can't even recognize because you can't see you can't notice that that hair is gold here doesn't look anything like human hair you don't notice that that that the underlying taste of the meat is different that there's a distinct difference between venison and veal you don't notice things but you hear things and the voice picks up he picks up something in jacob and we've always read it as the voice or the tone or the timbre of the voice but in actuality i believe there's a lot more to it than that i think that isaac was saying esau would never say the lord thy god brought it to me esau would never go to god did this esau was of the flesh he was not he was of the carnal man he was he was not one given to birth rights esau is not going to say god did this but jacob will say god did this because jacob had learned some things from both mama and daddy about the god of abraham and they knew that that god was a provider and so jacob would say god did it and that's why isaac says the voice is jacobs the answer is jacob's not esau esau ain't going to answer that way i don't think it's all in just the tone of the voice it has a lot to do with what the voice is saying and then it says this but he discerned him not because his hands were hairy back to the flesh i thought i heard something there you see this this passage is major time focused on how easy it is to let the flesh become the the discerning force instead of the spirit it is no wonder the word of the lord says it teaches us try the spirits to see if they be of god because if you're going to rely on the flesh to get the job done you're probably going to lose most of the time so he says oh he blessed him this is what he says again are you sure your esau i am he okay bring it bring it over here and let me eat of the venison so he brought him to him and he did eat and and isaac is not able to distinguish the difference between the venison and the veal watch this we always look at rebecca and never pay attention to something even more subtle esau and rebecca both knew how to take meat and make it taste exactly the same even though it's two different types of meat esau can he can prepare that venison just the way isaac likes it rebecca can take that veal and prepare it and make it taste exactly the same way to where isaac cannot discern the difference between the venison and the veal i want somebody to understand something tonight and that is uh there is always deceptions waiting for those that cannot distinguish the difference between the venison and the veal irregu regardless of the fact of who it is that's preparing it we have to pay attention to what the underlying substance really is because things can be prepared in such a way that they seem very palatable and they seem to fit exactly the way we want them to taste and it seems right and it tastes right and it it seems to feel right and everything's all right about it but yet we cannot oftentimes discern the difference between the venison and the veal what i'm trying to tell somebody is there are things and forces at work in your life that the enemy is going to try to take away from the original and put something else there he's going to make it look like it he's going to make it taste like it he's going to make it smell like it he's going to make it feel like it there's going to be deception and if you're not careful the enemy's going to say hey there's no difference between this and that it may taste the same it may feel the same it may seem to smell the same everything may seem the same but the the substance from which the the end result is derived is different there are those that can take you ready for this there are those that can take the word of the lord and they can they can take the meat of god's word and they can fix it and they can prepare it and they can make it sound like it's just oh so right and yet at the end of the day you're gonna have to determine and you're gonna have to trust in the holy ghost in you to make the difference to where you'll know the difference of whether you're getting the real thing or you're getting a fake whether you're getting the real thing or what you're getting is some kind of substitute that tastes like the real thing but it's not the real thing it's kind of like coca-cola coming out and their logo's always been it's the real thing baby but they come along and decided one day they was gonna mess with the formula and when they got and people that knew the real thing said hey this ain't the real thing and so they went back to the original deal but what would happen if they're they're getting closer and closer they're taking diet now and they're they're they're trying to pull the sugar out for all the all the people that you know we can't have sugar and that and all the things that's going on and sugar is actually bad for you they've proven that but nonetheless and so they've got coke zero and they've got coke light and they've got coke this and coke that and it's all for the purpose of but they try their best to make it taste like the real thing to where folks will say i've heard this some of you folks who say there ain't no difference but i've got a discriminating taste bud and i'll tell you right now might not be no difference to you but there is to me but forget about coke what is coke coke came here just a few years ago and who knows if it'll last another 100 years or not who cares there's something far more important than coca-cola and that is the word of the lord and when i when it comes to the to the word and it comes to the meat of the word i need to know that i what i'm getting is not a substitute that's made up and made to look like or feel like or taste like something that is that that it should be but it's not in other words i'm trying to tell some folks uh that the the the example is here and i'm using this as an example to get into somebody's spirit and mind tonight to where you understand deceptions can come in the most amazing ways and it will feel like it's the right thing come here let me let me let me come up bring that bring that come on come on come here come here for a minute come here he even smells like he saw you know why because mama went into the stuff that she had sh the bible actually said it was in in the tent in her possession in other words it was probably a garment that was being mended or something of that nature but it's it was esau's garment and it smelled of the field and isaac said ooh bless that oh i oh son that smells like the dew of heaven the field of the earth the oh there's and the bible said god that isaac blessed him said oh you man you smell good and and oh wow he's he's it's jacob standing there and he's oh man and he said come here and then he said don't you dare do this he said come here kiss me my son he won't but in reality what he's doing he's saying let me get close enough let me let me let me feel because i know i know that jacob's smooth and mama's put that same stuff up on his neck so where he he feels so he smells and he feels and he's he's tastes the only thing that hasn't really betrayed him is his hearing but it wasn't but the other things overrode what he heard everything else thank you everything else overrode what his ears were telling him something's not right i heard a it ain't just a tone i heard a reply are my ears deceiving me they must be he's it smells right it looks right it feels right now it looks right can't see it feels right it tastes right folks with the enemy and i know jacob's not the enemy but understand how i'm using this when it when the deception comes don't think it's going to rely on just approaching one of your senses in the in in fact it's gonna the one sense it's not gonna want to stir up is your spiritual sense watch this it will apply to your human logic your humanist reasonings but it will not apply to what your spirit is saying but what is i need to hear because there's something there's something in that there's something somewhere if i can i that just that just that one moment i hear and oftentimes that's exactly the way it is deception comes and god will send just that moment into your spirit that says be careful right here now i'm i'm i know what this may not be for everybody but this is for a few folks in this place tonight and i'm not going to name anybody and i know that a lot of times when i think i know it's for it's for a bunch of other people i didn't have a clue so that's my disclaimer tonight i'm just doing i'm just giving you what i i know the holy ghost gave to me and and as i as i am approaching this i'm realizing that the enemy is at work to bring division and the enemy is at work because we're striving for unity and when you're striving for unity the enemy's going to do everything he can to disrupt and destroy and bring division but i'm telling you we can have differences but let don't let the differences become division there are there are folks uh no no hear me out there there this church has a reputation across this country whether you realize it or not as being probably one of the most diverse churches in pentecost uh i get calls from other pastors saying how did you do that what is going on there that that you can have such a blend of people of different races and different opinions different ways of doing things whether it's whether it's hispanic uh mexican puerto rican cuban whatever you got to name them all you know because the guatemalans and you know and and other you know everybody doesn't get along and so you you go through the process and they're asking me how do you how do you how do you do that the blacks and the whites and how are you doing there and and i'm telling you and all of a sudden you think you got it figured out and you're just wrong thank you jesus hallelujah it's good and all of a sudden the enemy comes in and and and somebody starts saying well you know uh this this because of this and this because of that and and this is going on and that's going on and then our human mind our human mind starts kicking in and all of our all our human reasonings start coming in now and we stop listening to the holy ghost in us and we stop listening to the word of god and we start reasoning everything out in our brilliant intelligence because we think we're so smart and we're really not near as smart as we think we are and and god but god's smarter than all of us and god's saying come on now i just want you to just listen don't let deception become the order of the day listen to what the holy ghost is saying because i'm going to tell you what the holy ghost will always say the holy ghost will say the enemy is out to kill and destroy and divide and tear apart the enemy is out to wreak havoc amongst whosoever will let him but i have a purpose and a plan the holy ghost says wants to to get us in this in our spirit and that is that that god has a plan for you and i that you and i can somehow or another see through all this stuff and that we can say god you know what i don't know all the ins and outs of all the ins and outs and sometimes this stuff comes in so many layers i don't even know which way i'm going but i do know this that i know that if i'll if i'll just trust you and i'll listen to the voice of the lord and i'll listen but you can't listen to the voice of the lord if you're over somewhere in a conversation in a corner reasoning it all out and figuring it all out and putting all the humanistic thoughts on it the only way you can listen to the voice of the lord is if you go to the lord in prayer and you say god i don't understand everything but i know that you do so i'm going to put it in your hands and i'm going to trust you and i'm going to have my faith in you and i'm going to believe you and that's what makes it all come together it's not because somebody's got to answer on some kind of diversity or somehow to bring us all together it never was a man that brought us all together it never was this man he doesn't have the ability but there is something called the holy ghost that can bring all of humanity together under one roof that can bring them all into harmony as long as they'll never forget that it's the holy ghost that makes the difference it is not of ourselves that we are able to do anything but it is simply by his spirit in us because it is the spirit in us that is trying the other spirits to see if they be of god and so the deep things of god are calling unto the deep and they're saying will you hearken or will you be deceived who hath hears me here let him hear because i've i've said many things tonight that have many deep currents to them because the enemy he wants to kill and destroy to steal to kill and to destroy that's the enemy's business to steal to kill and to destroy think about that it's three different degrees to take away by force that which you would want to hold to to kill is to take away life to destroy is to obliterate obliterate that it ever existed you see sometimes things can get stolen away but that ain't never gonna be good enough the enemy's gonna wanna he's gonna try to kill you and it's funny how it comes about all you gotta do is ignore that still small voice saying don't go that way but we'll go that way and we'll say well and we'll this is how we'll condone it well it's my family and now i don't know who all this is going to and we'll say but this is just how i've always known it to be not knowing that what we are what we are accepting is not the venison it's the veal it's not what isaac was looking for it was so well prepared now here's the thing isaac bless jacob and blessing him this is this is what he says god give you the dew of heaven and the fatness of the earth and plenty of corn and wine let people serve you i'm clothing and nations bow down to you this is the part that's really interesting be lord over your brethren and let your mother's sons bow down to you cursed be everyone that curseth thee and blessed be he that blessed thee that was what we have recorded of the blessing that jacob gave as the part of the birthright jacob leaves out esau comes in with the with the venison and the deception follows along isaac says to isa who are you and he says hi miso this time it's not a lie it's a real deal isaac trembles where what and this is what he says who where is where is he that had taken venison where is he that isaac see i i wasn't just saying this isaac asked esau then who fixed the venison i just ate because the way it was prepared the spices and that just that special blend of doing it all just like this masked the fact that it was not the same kind of meat and isaac's saying where where's that one that that venison that was just come in and i've eaten them all and i blessed him it's a wise he sauce bless me is there not a blessing for me so this would this what isaac does for esau behold i've made him lord and all his brethren have i given to him for servants isaac lifts up his voice of weapon his father says to him your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth and of the dew of heaven from above and here's where it deviates that's that's exactly the same thing he said to to jacob when he started blessing jacob now he says he deviates away from what he said jacob and he says by thy sword shall you live and you shall serve your brother he emphasizes what he had just said to jacob and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion you shall break his yoke from off your neck but what what caught my attention was when to my knowledge the dominion of esau has never yet actually come the yoke is still there in many especially in the spiritual sense and then it says that esau hated jacob because of the blessing because of the blessing you know why hated hated jacob because of the blessing because in the blessing that jacob got they both got the first part of this blessing same exact thing do of heaven fatness of the earth all of that but then jacob was giving given dominion over him and he hated the idea that his brother would have dominion and he would have to be in submission there's something about the human spirit when it has its way it it will resist submission i've been confronted by some pretty interesting spirits in the last few weeks had folk hit i say folks had a person sitting in my office here recently trying to portray themselves as spiritual trying to portray themselves as being someone very adept in the word trying to portray themselves as some kind of spiritual leader and i listened to them talk for a few minutes and i finally just told him i said sir you don't have a clue what it means to be spiritual you don't have a clue of what you're talking about as far as the word of the lord just listening did you talk you don't even understand the common everyday language of the word of the lord you don't even understand the prose p-r-o-s-e in which it was written and you're i'm not against you but you really need to just come and sit and and absorb and learn of the word of the lord that's easy to do on that level i'll tell you what's more difficult several years ago i felt something in my spirit that said you need to you need to withdraw you need to pull back from this particular ministry which was a person of course you need to pull back from that at the time i didn't really even understand why i just knew what i felt so i okay lord and i pulled back only to have as time went by things started becoming to light and things started being brought to my knowledge and then it all started making sense but i'll tell you the really difficult one is this several years ago this church used to have a daycare and it was finally on its feet it took months to where it finally started showing a little bit of profit even then it wasn't really doing a lot but it was doing okay and all of a sudden the holy ghost started saying you better shut that daycare you better close that daycare why now now you know where i'm at i'm praying and i'm talking lord why and so i'm walking through the church one day and this is back when before we had the expansion of the auditorium and stuff i'm walking through and i'm actually in that hall out there if i remember correctly and i hear a woman's voice harsh and i realize i'm hearing she's addressing a child and it's mean spirit i remember going to the administrator and saying i don't know who that person is and in so many words i was saying but if i if that ever continues again and i hear it i'll fire him and the voice kept coming you were closing that daycare you ever closed that daycare i'd like to think it's because of that person but it wasn't to this day i don't know why we closed the daycare i just know the holy ghost said shut it down to the point where eventually it was like now you've resisted me for the last two or three months close it now okay and folks would say well you just what about you know it was it was profitable he was bringing money into the church only god only eternity is going to reveal why but you know what when i get on the other side of eternity i'm not going to care why and neither is anybody else because ultimately only god's going to really know the why and we'll probably know and won't care anyway but the truth is this that sometimes we just have to hearken to the voice of the spirit it's the only way to know the difference between the venison and the veal it's the only way to know the difference between the truth and the deception now it's not in what is always presented it's not in how it takes uh it's not in how it feels i've heard so many folks say it just doesn't feel right or it feels right i'm telling you feelings will cause you to make a lot of mistakes and a lot of misjudgments i've got to somehow another stay in touch with the holy ghost if i can just somehow or another keep in the place to where god i can hear his voice and i can hear his word and he can speak into my soul and my spirit then i know at the end of the day i may not do everything right in fact the truth is i will not do everything right i am a human being and we are all prone to making our mistakes and that's just the way it is and i know you want a pastor that is always going to be perfect well i got i'm sorry to tell you this but you're not going to get one now because if you leave me and go somewhere else in another state another town or anywhere else you're gonna get another human being and they're gonna make their mistakes and they're gonna have their flaws and their failures and i don't know why all this is coming out of just his i didn't mean it but god knows what he's doing and we all know that there's been things on undercurrents that are trying to disrupt and so on and so forth and god's got me up here tonight and god's trying to tell somebody trust the holy ghost trust the word of god trust the man of god trust the things that are right and god will show it all in the end but if god never does somehow at the end of the day you've got to step back and say but lord i'm gonna trust you and i'm gonna trust your word and i'm gonna trust in your spirit and i'm gonna trust in the holy ghost in my soul and that will make the difference because when it's all said and done one day i gotta stand before him and i wanna hear him say well done a good and faithful servant enter to the joys of the lord i preached for 45 minutes but i'll be honest with you i i'm my soul's heavy it's heavy now for well for me too that would be dishonestly not for me but for all of us it's heavy folks no matter what this life brings i'm gonna stand before him one day and one thing i can't do is i can't allow deception to hide the difference between the venison and the view i can't i can't no matter how it's prepared somehow or another i got to be attuned and i had to be sensitive to the leading and guiding of god's fear and presence so if you're here tonight and the enemy's been trying to paint a version of the truth that's not real i think it's time we put our hand back in the hands of god and say yes lord i'm gonna hold on to you is there anybody here that'll join me say i'm just going to hold on to you i almost feel like moses is drawing the line in the sand and saying who's on the lord's side we got to hold on to god we got to hold on to truth we got to hold on to righteousness the enemy comes to seek out and to steal to kill and to destroy god's talking to you let's make our way to this altar let's spend a little bit of time it's not a normal wednesday night
