hey yo what's up ladies and gentlemen it's your boy and welcome back to another to another to another and I will explain in a future video why we're not uploading quite as much but we're still uploading I've got to tell you a secret um I hate this channel or at least I did at least I did at least what's up ladies and gentlemen I'm here with my first ever YouTube video with my boy Chad with the J he's showing me this is the day I started this channel but to explain to you why I left YouTube I've got to go back even further this was my first ever appearance in a YouTube video see I've been making videos for over a decade it started out as an extra in davidparody videos then it grew into team elbow videos that eventually led me to making this channel in 2015 and since then I haven't missed a week of uploading for six years in fact from 2017 until August of 2021 I uploaded twice a week every single week sometimes more when you factor in my other channels in total I uploaded over 850 videos across both my channels during that time frame and probably appeared in as many or more on other people's channels all of this to say I really didn't take this opportunity for granted and I did everything I could to make the most of it and I had a blast so as you guys can see we're turning Ryan's room into a barn oh and today is the Full House Tour so if you guys are excited smash that thumbs up button I cannot I got to live with my best friends and make content for years but eventually that ended and we all moved out some of us moved to other cities and in 2019 I was solo making content with Jay and that was an amazing time too it was actually a pivotal time in my career because up until that point I'll be honest my self-worth as a Creator was heavily attached to the group and I thought if I wasn't part of the group people wouldn't like my content or me anymore but I was able to succeed independent of the group and the confidence that gave me as a content creator was a key reason why in September of 2021 I was able to take a step back from this Channel and focus on something else foreign which leads me into the first reason I stopped uploading hey elonites welcome to the Tesla space where we share the latest news rumors and insights into all things Tesla SpaceX and Elon Musk in 2020 I realized that my channel and therefore my business was completely wrapped up in me if I was tired if I was sick if I wanted to go on vacation everything stopped because I was the face of the channel and as fun as that can be it's also a lot of pressure and I knew I wanted to try taking the skills I developed as a content creator and use that to create a new channel one that wasn't reliant on me as the face of it around this time I was making these Tesla videos on this channel and I really enjoyed it and they were performing really well so I started to get more into the world of Tesla and decided to make a channel called the Tesla space the channel covers Tesla news and stories along with any other interesting things Elon Musk and his other companies get up to like I said though I didn't want to be the sole driving force of this channel so I built a team and together we built the Tesla space to over 250 000 subscribers and 32 million on this channel I am the voice but you never see my face so if I decide it's not something I'm passionate about anymore it can continue on without me which helps relieve one of the biggest sources of my stress as a content creator the pressure of it being all on me as of filming this video we've continued to develop this business model and we now have five channels two of which are monetized and Performing really well and the other three are brand new but showing promise another thing about YouTube is no matter who you are there are always these huge Ebbs and flows on your channel one month you're killing it and the next you're worried everything is about to fall apart I've been doing this long enough to know not to get too high on a good month or too low on a bad month but having multiple channels and therefore multiple Revenue sources helps level the highs and the lows out to a more consistent and less stressful level so the first reason I took a break from this channel is I started a bunch of new channels along with two other startups one is called Creator Mill which aims to help content creators establish a presence on other platforms then Jad and I also started cop cards a trading card game retail store both of which are going really well and if you'd like to hear more about them let me know in the comment section below but back to why I left YouTube on to the second reason transparently I was tired and uninspired I'd been going hard for so long with basically no breaks that I just felt creatively exhausted and I didn't enjoy the content we were making anymore I had some troubling thoughts regarding the consumer culture that I was unintentionally pushing in all of these unboxing and product review videos and I kind of felt like I was just view chasing and going through the motions you know doing the least work possible to get a video done but no longer making stuff we really felt proud of so I put a pause on the channel thinking we'd take a month off and come back better than ever one month turned into two and soon enough A year had passed and I'd uploaded a couple more random videos in the same old style but there was no real change and I just kept flip-flopping back and forth between what direction I wanted to take the channel I decided if I was going to upload on this channel again I wanted the content to be more meaningful and to be honest that's what I've been trying to figure out how to do for the last year now don't get me wrong it's been phenomenal getting the opportunity to entertain you guys for the past decade but I want to make videos that not only entertain but also go A Step Beyond that and really bring you value maybe even improve your life in some way now if I'm honest I don't have the answer as to how to do that yet I do have some ideas but from my experience I just gotta get started so I'm taking it one video at a time but there you have it I know many of you have been wondering where I left and why I left and that's why I stopped uploading on YouTube in the same breath that's why I'm back not sure what the future holds but I'm going to do my best to bring you the highest quality most entertaining and most valuable videos I can hopefully you guys stick around and enjoy the ride toodles
