THE READING RUSH VLOGS 💜 Day 01

I'm actually recovering from heatstroke I don't even have a tan to show for it so can i order the same drink as the person in front of me one two three good morning friends welcome to day one of the reading rush or booktubeathon this is where I will be starting all of my vlogs for the majority of this week in front of my mirror doing my makeup for work I have decided before the best chances of success for this read-a-thon I'm going to be hyper organized so every day I have sections of what I will be doing as in work swimming groceries whatever what I'll be reading what I'll be wearing I'm gonna put my outfits organize them all like I'm in kindergarten what I'll be eating if I have a dinner plan I'll be less likely to get fast food drinking this one gets fun so every day this week I am going to let you decide my Starbucks drink oh it sounds so much less exciting when you say it out loud listen I get the same thing at Starbucks every single time I go I don't actually go every single day but I thought it would be a fun thing to do recurring in these vlogs I have been collecting points for a long time so now I have enough points to get a free drink every single day this week and I can step outside my comfort zone and try something new so in the comments of every day's vlog you can tell me what you want me to get the next day I know there's so much stuff there that I've never tried before I get a venti almond chai that's all I drink there sometimes I get a Frappuccino also chai today since I don't have you to decide I'm gonna do that thing where you just order what the person in front of you got and see how so I also have little rectangles for the challenges so every single day I will be participating in I will be completing a reading challenge I'll be doing the video challenge hopefully unless it has to do with like performing of some kind of because I'm not the one and then the photo challenge so I have my TBR right here we've got an unrestored woman which is actually stories like multiple stories in here so I got the audiobook of this on Scribd so I figured I could listen to one or two stories on my half hour drive to work every morning and that'll be covered in the next five days I also have another short story collection called growing things by Paul Tremblay this is an arc their horror stories and of thing about reading I don't even know how many stories and I think it was 19 so a couple every think that's how I'll end my night face with horror nightmares and then I only have two other books that I want to complete and I essentially still have seven days to do it we've got hello girls which is another arc written by Emily Henry and Brittany Cavallaro it's like Selma and Louise inspired thing very excited with that I think I'm gonna start that today and then I have written in the stars by Aisha Saeed what a girl we have in Pakistan and then we're just gonna go from there I don't have a super ambitious TBR I'm trying to just stay chill for this read-a-thon I'm actually recovering from heatstroke I don't even have a tan to show for it so let me finish my face and get totally ready and then we'll look at the video photo challenge even though we don't build or do them we you and I until after work here it how exciting here's my face okay I am checking the challenges so video challenge first we've got Chloe drawing book characters is the title so today's challenge is drawing book characters so basically I want you to do it you see you should go to your bookshelf and grab any book that you've previously read in the box you're basically going to flip to any random page and the first characters name that you see is the character that you're going to try and draw oh my gosh okay and then I need the photo challenge okay I see this picture I'm not sure what's happening take a photo where you make a book fly that sounds challenging I've always loved those pictures from people like throw a book in the air but actually getting that photo that's complicated well you help me with my picture not now although it is weirdly light enough at 6 a.m. right today looks like it's a bit day outside I didn't do anything super nice with my hair because my goal is to be in the pool today I was in the pool yesterday today's supposed to be I think 32 or 94 whatever that converts to okay I'm gonna get to work I'm actually late an hour into the read-a-thon and I already have a little setback I forgot that my child is with me every morning this week so I'm not sure how I'm going to reasonably listen to the audiobook so I brought the book just in case so I can listen to it like drink while I work like just a little bit or can you be quiet this entire dry so I can listen to an audiobook well at least he's honest um can I order the same drink as the person in front of me as they're actually not getting it's right there just kidding around oh really yeah oh can I get a venti chai latte then obviously I didn't work but maybe it's a good thing because this is the last time I'll get to drink my drink this week it's fine I have a pounding headache and I just forgot my advil heat stroke don't wreck it [Music] okay my workday is over now I managed to read three stories I basically have to read three stories a day from here in order to finish this in four days which i think is definitely doable especially if I listen to some of them in the car and then during my lunch break I read like half of a story so the first three story isn't here the first one was good the second one was incredible and the third one was just okay for me so all these stories have to do with the partition of Pakistan and India they all follow totally different people different experiences I really appreciated the intersectionality of the second story we had well she didn't identify as anything I would refer to her as a queer character if that didn't offend anybody overall this is I almost cried not him a lot during the first story I feel like this whole thing is gonna be really emotionally impactful now here's the thing I'm going to shop for swimsuits right now that's my first stop I need to find a new one my old one is really saggy and then I'm gonna go swimming now I wanted to read on my floaties that was my goal today but clearly I didn't bring the book that I wanted so should I just read nothing or should I continue into an unrestored woman I'd rather read something than read nothing so I guess I'm just gonna continue in those short stories cool [Music] [Music] we've had a casualty okay we're done swimming our last stop of the day's groceries but I don't actually have to shop for them because I did the click and Collect should I just show you my card pay the boys are putting away groceries and I'm gonna start dinner but first I need to take my Instagram challenge picture for the day I don't really want to be in it but I need to throw a book in the air so maybe just my arms but should I pick a book for my TBR should I pick a random other book I don't know I decided on maybe this time just because I already was planning on posting it this week because I need to write a review for it husband of mine will you help me take a photograph actually to photograph a night to edit them together ready yeah 1 1 2 3 why did it actually work though that's really funny that's cool I'm impressive ok but I'm actually gonna do it differently now let's see if I can Photoshop those two things together so I to pictures this one and this one and then all I have to do is put them together and then Photoshop up my hand and I didn't have to actually throw it and it's a lot faster than timing it over and over I'm actually really happy with how that photo turned out and really glad that it which is what I always make when I'm live because it's the most mindless thing that I can make while also interacting with people I was thinking about listening to my audiobook another story was cooking dinner but I think I'm actually gonna just take a little bit of time off and just focus on dinner maybe I'll watch couple YouTube videos because that's something I always fall behind on when I'm logging is watching other people's blogs I don't think I'm be posting a haul this month just because I'm not really gonna have time I'm daily vlogging every day here and then we're going on vacation literally this second the read-a-thon is over so I'll show you a couple of cool books that have arrived on my doorstep in the last week there's this one it's called resurrection girls I did request these or like say yes to these three I guess our main character writes two men on death row and other things happen she becomes friends with a new girl I'll tell you more about it in October when it actually comes out my treated for spewpa thong another one a good Sun pick is called the Liars of Mariposa Island I saw a bunch of people getting this at B EA and book on so the book calls to siblings Elena and Joaquin and it also has flashbacks to their mother and it all has to do with this island their mother was fleeing being Cuban Revolution and so it's following her and her children and I don't know even what genre it's in it looks like it's a mystery but the synopsis and then the third one is the ten thousand doors of January which is a final copy this doesn't come out until is it October September I got an arc of it this is the problem with being a Canadian booktuber or book reviewer is that you work with like publishing houses in the States and in Canada and sometimes you end up getting the same book more than once so I now have a finished copy which is super cool definitely appreciate it I accidentally ripped the cover a little when I was pulling out of the package this is adult fantasy there are doors there are different worlds there's a book I think that is what opens the doors to these worlds and then the last one I'm trying not to let my dinner burn is this huge marketing package it says the escape room on it and inside is a book I've never heard of it came with a survival K and then the book is called the escape room which I read the synopsis and does act we sound pretty interesting even though I don't like to show unsolicited books on my channel because it just gets more unsolicited bugs it's about a game which you know I like it's a team-building exercise with a bunch of co-workers so caught in a dangerous game of survival trapped in the dark they have to put aside their bitter rivalries and work together to solve cryptic clues and break free this does sound interesting [Music] okay it's 7:00 p.m. all of my obligatory things are done for the day and now I can fully dive into a book in fact I already have so I'm 30-something pages into hello girls and I'm definitely into it I really like the characters I really like the storyline it's pretty intense both of these girls are going through some with their families like serious trauma and then they become friends and they just have this goal to one day escape their circumstances and move to Chicago together some has just hit the fan and I think they're about to head out on their adventure I don't particularly like the writing itself I don't really feel connected to it I don't know how to explain it further maybe the deeper I get into the books better I can explain it or you know my opinion could change but I do like the plot and I guess we should talk about challenges I already did the photo challenge the reading challenge this fits for was supposed to be reading a book in the same spot the entire time so let's just count to my bed as that and then the video challenge which I should do according to my schedule I have until 10:00 p.m. to read and then I have to get my video done so it's ready and uploaded in everything is organized oh just kidding it's actually a no I only have two hours yeah you do me a favor can you pick a book for me off the shelf any book just a book just grab me a book is it your pick okay so what all right Wow I broke my leg no there's a challenge I have to draw a picture of someone from the book okay America America okay we got the main character exciting Oh also what I do show you in the video if you walk to the challenge video yourself you know that you actually have 30 seconds to draw your picture well she is challenged she is this is America's hey so if I want to finish this book in two days which I do I need to get to page 160 which is only like a hundred my pages than where I'm at so looking good is how booktuber set up cameras to film themselves for no reason [Music] made it to the halfway point with plenty of time to spare I have nothing really more to say I feel the same about it I think it's good I am sucked in I'm captivated by this story they're now on a road trip and some of their stuff just went down and I just happened to leave at a very interesting point that'll make me pick this up as soon as I can tomorrow which is good but that's it for today's vlog oh shoot I just remembered I was also supposed to read a couple stories from growing things I guess the whole following the plan plan didn't work but I read two extra stories from the other short story collection so all together today I think I read 250 pages I have yet to complete a book but I'm in the middle of two I did all my challenges for the day feeling good let me know what Starbucks I should get tomorrow I don't really like chocolate I don't like things that are too sweet I would prefer it if it tastes good with almond milk and I hope it has caffeine let me know and I'll see you tomorrow I hate that about
