This is Deep Dip. One of the hardest maps  ever built in Trackmania. The track starts   down at ground level, and the finish is all  the way up at the top. But to get there you   have to pass 14 Difficult Floors. Each one  made by a skilled mapper with thousands of   hours in the game. Each floor is difficult  in its own way... Like the 3rd floor that   has precise driving on ice. Or the 6th  floor that has wicked difficult jumps.   But what makes Deep Dip a truly insane  map, is that there are NO checkpoints   whatsoever... So if you make a mistake it could  potentially cost you all of your progress... In order to complete Deep Dip, you  have to beat ALL 14 floors in a row;   without any inaccuracies. And as you climb  higher, the pressure rises tremendously...   In November of 2022 the map was published.  And a race was hosted to see who would be   the first to complete it. With a $1,000 Prize  pool to the first finishers. And little did   we all know then, that this would become  one of the biggest events in Trackmania   History... This is the story of the race to  summit Trackmania's Hardest Tower Map [Music] Leading up to the release of the map expectations  were high as this Tower in its size was unlike   anything seen in the game before. Many  players had tried a similar map one year   earlier but that one paled in comparison.  Going into the event I had set up a timer   and a fall counter to see just how long it  would take in total. Where for reference,   the tower map from a year prior had taken  3 hours and 38 Falls. That evening once all   the players were connected to the  server, the race officially began! so wait - did he just yolo that?  okay chroma kind of cracked okay, all right that's one that's one fall  my first fall and took less than a minute..   The bottom floor starts out quite peacefully  for being one of the hardest maps in the game.   It has parts that require precise balancing and  obvious baits I'm embarrassed to have fallen for. IT WAS ICE? But other than that I was able to  quickly clear it for the first time after just   15 minutes. And that's also exactly when  we noticed a terrible detail on the map...  Wait a second. What is this pipe? What  is this pipe? I want to know if you at   some point can fall in into this pipe... it's  the snake. The snake from getting over it you   will fall all the way down. Floor 1 has many  different biomes and some low speed jumps that   were difficult. One in particular was causing  me a lot of frustration and in my 15th fall,   I also got to experience one phenomena  that makes this map even harder... NO If you ever land upside down, I I can't do  anything. If this happened on floor 15 I would   still have to restart. And after finally  passing that jump and nearly the entirety   of Floor 1 I had the pleasure of experiencing  it for a second time :) Did I really bounce on   the plastic duck and not into the pool? Holy  [ __ ]. And then.. It was right back to the   start with all my progress erased. Unless  you're able to flip the car with momentum,   or get into a water pool. Landing  upside down basically means your   run is over. But thankfully on the very  next attempt I reached the 2nd Floor. [Music] Ladies and gentlemen, if this car flips which  it does.. I think we've made it to floor three   or floor two. It is Floor 2. The 2nd Floor of  Deep Dip has you balancing on thin railings   and doing jumps between them. I took my time  and tried to drive it slow and steady and it   really didn't take me that long to complete  it okay uh what's the Strat here does it just   boost me up oh floor three floor three that's  a p after 40 Falls and 2 hours played I had   made it to the third floor out of 14 total  this floor is really confusing it has two   paths you can drive at the start and after some  Theory crafting I realized it had to be the left   one then you would jump onto the edge of the  Tower and flip up to a floating island from   there you could go on top of a beam and then  with a precise jump drop onto the other path   you didn't take at the start and then again gather  speed and jump up to the second floating island   on the floor then all that remained was getting  past the ice Rings this is the ice Circle [Music] [Music] scary scary Just Let It Go just Let It Go [Music] that's another step done dude  we're we're doing good on this   so far so far we're doing pretty good  and though that went great I blundered   two jumps later and before I knew it  it was right back to floor gang no no no 10 falls and half an hour later I finally  made it back up to the jump what I did wrong here   I did not commit simply did  not commit so I will [Music] now after 3 hours of playing that day I  had now made it to floor 4 out of 14 the   same amount of time that it had taken me  to beat the entire previous tower map but   the worst was still yet to come because  little did I know then that these were   literally the easiest floors in the entire  Tower and floor four kick things up a notch   this entire floor is built on plastic  which is super slippery and tough to control that's plastic I think I'm done  not too far though please no is that ground floor oh okay floor again   and that's kind of how progress goes on a map  like this you work your way up reach a new Peak   height only to have your entire progress erased  but as you get familiar with the route and the   tricks you can often get back there quite quickly  and reach one jump further only to fail shortly   after and again have your entire progress  erased but little by little you are getting   further and further it's such a simple jump let  me see Lars do it Lars show me how you do it he made that look so simple no stound bug slide it's not that simple it's really not  bro bro this is not fair this is unfair to do this this is not fair holy [ __ ] all right I'm waiting for  you now camera's on you this time oh no no no no no he failed it and after 5 and 1/2 hours  on the first day I finally managed to reach floor   five floor five woo okay still not even halfway  up the tower in fact I managed to reach it three   more times but my driving was getting worse and  worse so I decid to call it a night and get some [Music] rest the second day got off to a hot  start when I got all the way up again   to floor 5 quickly and was making steady  progress towards floor 6 okay floor five [Music] [Music]   make it okay we're safe okay this is PB [Music] missed the angle completely I'm scared  maybe I can save this okay careful careful [Music] so what a save okay it actually  worked I had to try I mean okay all right   uh we're here so this is wet wheels pipe up  to the dirt block up there going to go very slow okay I don't think I need a lot  of speed here but I am going to take   precautions one more loop around  here and then up to floor six if I can floor six is where things get stupidly  difficult it's a transitional full speed   stunt floor built by ski freak and it's  one of the very hardest in the entire   Tower first you have a few small  obstacles followed by this tight   transitional section with a really tough  jump angle to land on a platform in the corner first try man from there you have to build  up speed and do a drop down into a jump up into   a [Music] pool make it make it make it here you  can take a deep breath before you have to balance   full speed on a railing do a small drop down  and then flip out of a bob slay wall into   a loop and carry enough speed so that you  can jump upside down and bounce up to floor 7 oh let's go dude I think this is 4 S these three  jump sequences are extreme and especially with so   much on the line because if you fall it could be  all the way down having past floor 6 I was really   relieved and I ended up scouting the entirety  of floor 7 but now I was ready to get even further too fast how far oh oh my God oh my God stop it bro no no floor gang the next time I'd have a chance at that  jump was 10 hours into playing the map and here's   how that one went I went from here last time  this is what it looked like I'm going to go over   here let's get [Music] it I released too much and  another two hours after that I got my third chance   yeah I'm just going to try for a new  PB on the map here we go I'm sending it wo PB the problem with floor six is  that it created a huge bottleneck in the   map the jump I failed twice at floor 7 wasn't  necessarily that hard but because the floor   below it was so difficult it took me 2 hours  to get back there every time I fell below it   and every jump from here on out would suffer  the same fate having to clear six just to have   a chance at learning them for this reason  making progress on deep dip Beyond floor   6 becomes ridiculously hard I didn't survive  too long on floor 7 and shortly after I caught   a big fall but it was enough for a temporary  first place on the leaderboard now reaching   1,000 out of the 2,000 M high tower the rest  of the night I spent getting stuck on the early   floors and making impatient mistakes so I decided  it was time to call it and try again on day three on the third day it didn't take me  long to get back to where I left off and   I was having my first cracks at the seventh  floor this one has two paths you can take   the left side or the right side the left side  looked easiest at first it had a tough jump ooh yeah but it was far preferable to the main  obstacle on the right side a wet plastic uphill   plastic is slippery as it is but wet plastic is  almost impossible to control oh my God I was too   sideways at first I was intent on going left  side but then a massively important strategy   was found to make right side trivial it was  discovered that the water pool blocks used   had a thin strip of tarmac on them and since  that is a dry surface you could dry the tires   by going back and forth on that strip repeatedly  and when the tires were fully dry you could go up   the plastic Hill with no problem yeah let just up  this hill and then uh then we're there so let's try yeah it's dry it's dry it's dry oh my God  what a strat bro who was that I want to thank   you personally again EXA talks in chat 2  hours ago told me about this right after   I fell here last time EX talks thank you  that's crazy soon after I became the first   person to reach floor 8 53% of the way there  guys I think this floor 8,26 is a new height   record oh my God floor eight floor eight  was built by tacky who if you don't know   is one of the most skilled TR Mania players at a  competition called khaki often featuring the most   ridiculous tricks and bugs but despite  that his floor was more forgiving than   most I was very methodical on my way here  I'll try to be as methodical on my way up [Music] okay I hate this trick with all my heart you have  to go onto the plastic the car will start falling   it will start rolling down but then because it's  plastic it will catch grip and the idea is to   catch grip before it falls all the way whatever  happens this is an amazing attempt so I'm already   happy let's see if we can go to nine [Music]  though make it make it make make it [Music] that's not far we've had bumpers  like this it's so slow I think I go slow oh my God oh my God oh my God floor nine we one shot floor eight then  this run turned into somewhat of a miracle   I was expecting it to go like previous runs  where I reached a new high and then instantly   fell but I just kept clearing jumps all  right this is the furthest anyone's made   it it might die here we W to floor 8 run floor 9  unexplored territory let's be pioneers and Le the way oh it's not over either  we make it or we fail oh God it's not over it's still not over floor  9 by the way is one of the hardest on the   map too it's not quite as difficult as  floor six but harder than all the ones   before it and yet I was almost making my  way through all of it on my first attempt oh no how far we fell to it's not bad we fell to the start  of eight 200 M of progress without a fall was huge   and though I fell it was only down to floor eight  and so I reset my focus and climbed back up only   to fall again at the exact same spot back down to  floor eight and climbing my way up this continued   for a while until the miracle run just kept  getting better yes go go go holy [ __ ] guys   65 I don't even know what I did different to be  honest I didn't like this jump low low low low oh okay I landed it's not magnet is this 410 is this 41 holy [ __ ] holy  [ __ ] holy [ __ ] the miracle run had gotten   me from the seventh to the 10th floor with No  Big Falls every recovery had stayed above the   sixth floor and I was able to explore so far  because of it but all good things must come   to an end if I if I stop on this beam I can  drop down I can drop down okay going to try it should be possible that's disappointing I didn't  even get to check if it worked or   not I was so preoccupied with trying to save it in   case it actually fell okay new PB let's  begin the de climb again let's [Music] go bad landing how far we at  floor 9 oh it's dropping okay   I can land there I can land there I can land there oh my god oh no okay sure oh no ground floor oh there were so many spots it could have landed  but with each fall I was gaining more and more   knowledge and 3 hours later I was back up at floor  10 with another chance to clear it this was still   completely unexplored territory and before doing  anything rash I stopped to Theory craft the route   but the only logical solution I could see wasn't  going to be a fun one to drive this floor seems   like a puzzle it's very obvious that you can go  up this and you can go up to this platform but   then what this jump looks impossible I've never  tried it but this does not look possible and the   reason I don't think it's intended is because  you can very clearly reach it from here uh to   get to this platform you would have to go up this  magnet wall the only way to go up the mag here   if you're down here is if you're turtled how can  you get to this platform turtled you can go watch this into this Gap here so you could go upside  down this Gap and I think that's what I will try   this time last time I thought this was too scary  this was a noo it could die here it's been a good run here we go so far so good oh my God that's actually the  Strat oh my God holy [ __ ] this is   a new height record eventually  I fell when attempting it again   but with this we had finally figured out the  route for floor 10 and the others quickly caught up let's go let's go we got it new rord right here  that night Lars cleared the Gap jump that I failed   and shortly after became the first person to reach  floor 11 but he fell on the second jump [Music] thereafter on day four Scrappy became  the second person to reach floor 11   and was clearing most of it in his  first attempt no no this is what   ex [Music] [Laughter] [Music]  maybe where is it going down there ye please yes stop stop stop stop  stop stop stop at the end of floor 11   there's a snake that you have to climb  the surface is plastic and because of   how steep it is it is very difficult to  drive on if you fail here it leads to a   pipe that takes you all the way down  to the bottom it's an all or nothing obstacle snake time it is snake time ladies  and gent [ __ ] off same T you and I it's not   a it is snake time ladies and gentlemen we're  going down 11 floors in the mud now we got to   climb all of that again as for me day four  was total Desair I kept making mistakes in   the early floors and made no progress in  over 8 hours of playing rushing too much   and probably putting too much pressure on myself  our small tower climbing competition had become   a huge spectacle on Twitch and all of the  streamers in the trackmania community were   reaching their highest viewer counts ever  I went from having a regular viewership of   6,000 to now upwards of 20,000 people watching  at once and with so many Spectators I put higher   expectations on myself and I noticed I was getting  more stressed and tense when what I needed most   was to be calm and focused so that evening  I went live on a secondary Twitch account no   microphone no camera just driving and trying  to get in the zone and shortly after falling   for 8 hours straight I got backto back runs  that reached 11 and and driving felt a lot   more comfortable these runs fell early on floor  11 but that was okay I knew what I needed to do   now and the solution wasn't to stream on a secret  account to 200 people instead of 20,000 but I knew   I had to put less focus on being entertaining and  more on just playing my best and it was working wonders okay nice and easy nice and easy okay  now this um right I think I know what I want to do okay oh it's sliding okay yeah I was hoping for this okay a little bit more little more this is the furthest anyone's been this is  the furthest we're almost at floor 12 the very   last jump of floor 11 is an inconspicuous one  where you go underneath a pillar and you land   on a plastic slope upwards I would reach  it several times on this day and I kept   getting it wrong each time costing me a lot  of time this tiny jump became a huge mental   block for me where every time I attempted it  I already felt like I was going to fail going   in and it was insane to see players like Bren  making it look trivial as he became the first   person to reach floor [Music] 12 okay we do it a  floor where the theme is driving on wet plastic   this combination gives you so little grip and  control over the car that you are constantly   fighting with it to have it stay on top of even  regular blocks but Bren pushed onwards and in an   amazing stride he beat the entir of floor 12  and became the first person to reach floor 13 floor 13 we made it only falling shortly  thereafter and together with him there   was Scrappy who also made massive progress and  could explore far into floor 13 and at a first   impression it looked ridiculously difficult  especially with all the pressure and being   so close to the top you'd have to pull off this  quarterpipe jump on Tiny blocks and carry enough   speed to drive up and jump onto an ice platform  and near the end of the floor you had to build up   perfect speed into another quad pipe to barely  make the jump onto a platform with only 10% of   the climb remaining from this platform you are  faced with arguably the most difficult jump on   the map it starts with a few transitions on  the Tilted road before you jump onto a ramp   with a booster you get past the hole on the  left side at full speed and go up a ramp with   the tiniest left angle to try to fly up and  land onto a road that would take you to the   final floor Scrat happy got close enough to  see the sunlight shining through the top of   the tower but this small inaccuracy made him  fall all the way down to zero 93% progress   wiped out in an instant we're dead this is  outside floor 13 to zero with one [Music] fail I think the booster you can break  to the floor okay that a bit late I   oh that's pretty far okay he's going Brian IED [ __ ] new record Bren  became the first person to make it past   the intense sequence at floor 13 and  make it up to floor 14 for the first   time when he scouted it it didn't look  too difficult but with everything on the   line everything becomes a lot harder wait  dude there's like five jumps left can whe   types no it's it's working as plastic okay oh  he didn't commit but was too scared oh my God   bran 96% though I didn't have enough speed at  96% of the tower completed bran fell and lost   everything but with his consistency I knew it  wouldn't take him long to get back up there and   the next time he did he would probably beat the  map but his fall left a tiny opening where if   anyone got up to 14 before him they could perhaps  snipe the win and only 1 hour after his fall I   finally figured out what I was doing wrong at the  pillar jump just in the nick of time that looks [Music] perfect oh my God that was such a big mental  barrier I was so scared of failing this again   you fail this Jump Man you fall literally all  the way down it was my first time reaching   floor 12 but having seen how others did it  and copying their strategies I managed to   get to 13 on my first try Okay Okay floor  13 I'm hearing like what Scrappy and Bren   are saying right about their experience being  up here and how you feel cold I feel cold look   down look how far at 90% of the Tower  completed and with the finish in sight   I got to experience nerves I had never  had before playing track Mania whatever   happens happens I'm prepared to lose this  but I'm also prepared to do it right we're going how far that's 11 that's 11 this is what I thought would happen happen  to Scrappy this attempt was my second Miracle   run on the map as though I fell and continued  to have several extreme Falls they all somehow   landed and it kept going for over an hour before  I knew it I was back to 13 for the second time and   I got all the way to the hardest jump I'm going  for it I'm going for it let's see what happens oh too much how far this could be good  this could be good don't bump me off [Music] though no okay four time though I failed it I  wasn't deterred I was more inspired than ever   and so were the others everyone knew at that point  that this is the day deep dip would fall the only   question was who would get there first my next  few attempts were all great having figured out   the pillar jump I had several runs that reached  floor 12 and 5 hours after I was there previously   I was once again back on floor 13 and the highest  up out of anyone at the time this this was my [Music] chance same thing yes yes yes yes yes yes yes last time  I was here I did something and I think it's   a stat what I did is cuz this jump is  so hard to aim I set up skid marks to   aim for if I set up skid marks here  I've given myself a trajectory to aim for I've climbed the entire tower for one  opportunity at this jump and from what it looked   like if I can get this and I can get the pipe on  the last floor I think I can beat them [Music] make it make it make it oh my God I'm on   the last floor there's like 10  jumps between me in the Finish [Music] guys 48 wait I released I can't release of  course I have to go full speed I have to hold it okay relx saveable it's a saveable though get up get up get up get [Music] up I'm scared guys I'm scared I'm scared [Music] right on to the pipe middle  little bit right side [Music] middle I slid dude stop falling wait it's stuck [Music]   oh my God I went too fast on the entry I  felt like I really could have had it this   is probably the most heartbroken I've felt  playing track Mania I had it all in my hands   and I let it slip I knew if I had made that jump  I'd likely be the first person to complete the   map but 30 minutes later at 2: a.m. that night  with over 30,000 people watching Bran Got This run let's go bran let's go please run oh he did it oh my God that is so close GG's br oh my God  this so good amazing I mean simply amazing he he's   playing so well he was the first to reach last 4  I finally after 6 days of intense attempts from   the community Bren became the first person to beat  Deepa winning the race to the top when I watched   him make the leap to the Finish I felt truly happy  for him having played the map so much it's hard   to describe just how much of a mental test it is  and anyone who conquers this map has my eternal   respect in the game but in the same moment I was  Al disappointed in myself it was still hard to   shake the feeling that I'd thrown it all away but  I knew I wanted to complete the map as well after   so many hours I wasn't going to quit 3% away  from the finish line but to do it I needed to   rest it had been an almost 12-hour long session of  intense concentration and my driving was getting   significantly worse it sucked but I went to bed  and got up the next morning to complete my mission [Music] you are in the M for the  last time one time M's going to tell   me I'm in the mud for the last  time and I'm feeling it's this [Music] one get past this and we have a run okay get it floor s today is the [Music] day I'm not too scared just got to hit the left up [Music] this is for Redemption come [Music] on okay okay now don't release  here do not release you have to go for oh great great great great great great I  had 20 hp last time I 40 there's yeah no sh I fail start taking speed at  the turn no here turn turn [Music]   oh my God we're here we are here 60 hours  for one jump if I fall here there is nothing   underneath but if I make it I am done come on I  want this I want this I'm almost fainting I'm so scared just go in a circle I'm  going to go for more speed until   I see a good [Music] number okay  release a bit and then full speed [Music] yeah I think I'm going I'm going I'm going yes yes I'm done on the 23rd of November I  became the second person to finish deep and the   feeling was simply overwhelming for a full  week I had done nothing but played this map   there was so much built up tension and emotion  that was relieved the moment I crossed the   finish line and I couldn't hold it back I  was disappointed yesterday from falling at 97 holy it might seem crazy to Cry tears of joy  over beating a level in a video game but trach   Mania is an outlet I use to experience mastery  I've played for over 10 years and I've seen myself   become better and better and throughout all that  time deep dip was perhaps the hardest challenge   I'd ever completed and one of my proudest moments  in the game even though I came second place I   felt like I had just peaked and that feeling  was incredible shortly afterwards a clip of   me finishing deep dip became wildly popular  getting millions of views on YouTube and many   people including this YouTuber just didn't seem  to get it can anyone explain to me if this was   hard to do because he kind of made it look like  a Hot Wheels game can anyone explain to me if   this was hard to do but hopefully after watching  this journey You Now understand why it meant so   much to me and to Bren and the nine other people  that finished the map but this isn't where the   story ends because on the 3rd of May 2024 the  same mapping team will release deep dip 2 and   you best believe it's going to get crazy it has  16 floors instead of four 14 and is said to be   about twice as difficult as deep dip it's going  to be wild starting on the 3rd of May I'm going   to live stream my attempts to finish deep dip  2 every day for at least 10 hours each day and   I really hope you want to stop by and wish me  good luck in the chat or just follow along for   the ride perhaps we'll be the first to get to the  top but no matter what I am going to beat this map   and I will see you all then but until that time  thank you for watching and have a good one n [Music]
