I went Undercover in a Trackmania tournament and fooled everyone...

so a few days ago i decided to go undercover in a trackmania tournament why you might ask well i was bored one afternoon and i thought that would be a fun experiment usually in trackmania the best players are simply the best as it's a very competitive racing game with next to no luck involved and in the highest divisions of competition i'd say everyone knows who everyone else is type of situation but how would pro players react if some completely unheard of no-name player got into the highest division of a tournament and started destroying everyone well that's what i wanted to find out and let's just say the results were crazier than i ever could have anticipated this is the story of when i went undercover in a trackmania tournament and fooled everyone just before we begin i to go undercover in is called cup of the day the way this tournament works is that all players load onto a completely new track that nobody has seen before then you're given 15 minutes to learn the track as best as you can and set the fastest possible qualifying time once the time is up you're put in a division based on your time attack position the cup gets about 2 000 players participating every day and in order to reach the top division you need to place at least 64th or higher in the qualifier which is a pretty narrow gap to get through after the qualifier you play a knockout match in your division where every round the slowest players are eliminated until there's just two players left in a 1v1 showdown for the trophy about 20 minutes before the cup i got the idea to go undercover i quickly downloaded the game on a new account and then i had to think of a name after pondering about it for a moment i was reminded of one time i got absolutely had by a viewer on stream moofat who's mufat and i decided then that mufat would be my name as perhaps it could be fun if some people would be unfortunate enough to inquire about my identity i thought the name sounded a bit turkish so i sat that as my nationality and with all of that set up i was now ready to qualify for the top division and surprise some people all right let's see what we have here looks like a full speed track hi-reth by mimik i'm not sure what this is all right let's see so yeah as i said it looks full speed uh but we'll really find out now i think this is a track i want to watch the gps on because mimik is a player that's going to show me the track uh at a fairly high level i think see i'm going to take a gps here on the start so let's see a run of the track figure out how to drive this bus as possible so keep gripping the start then go up and you have to turn over stay pretty low i'm not sure if this is a track i can make an impact on i'm really not sure dirk to the right he lost quite a lot of speed there here down oh you have to keep that gear you have to keep that gear dirt wall stay low okay now it's just about executing exactly what i saw and trying to uh climb high up early would be fun oh that's an alternative line not really what i wanted to do try again i really don't think you should go outside there but it doesn't seem to matter too much oh yeah hard to keep the grip everywhere this is such a hard track to keep the grip on back here is something you don't want to miss land here and then you can stay really low here oh it's a little you can go here oh just barely but yeah let's get a time on the board here so uh yeah we'll finish that now let's see 42 seconds so the author time is already a 41.6 but those types of times should be coming in very soon 42 6 here for me 26th already yeah it's going fast but i had a couple of spots here that were a bit awkward like releasing and stuff so uh let's see what i can do now it's just about to start that can be a little bit better but lars is already one second ahead i wonder if he's uh doing something crazy here but it's an improvement 41.7 but i don't understand uh 40.8 it's very fast five minutes i need top 64. so i'm 113 right now i need to just improve by like close to second i think like point eight to have a solid uh time here at the end good point two that puts me at 37 definitely not safe yet it's a good time 40.78 now we're getting off there i wonder if anyone's gonna notice this is exactly what i wanted like a solid qualifying time that just makes people think like who is this guy so now he's gonna wait and see if anyone will notice me up there and with that we're actually now fourth improve again are they gonna notice that mufa tm is some new name in the field i managed to get through the qualifier in an amazing fourth place but to my surprise not a lot of people took note of it i knew that if i was going to get some reactions in the knockout phase i had to either drive really fast appearing often on top of the scoreboard or survive deep enough into the tournament to be one of the final remaining players my strategy would be to go as far as possible so i decided to play as consistently as i could and avoid mistakes at all costs and this is how it went arty and chat who are you fought [Music] it begins it begins i i really want to just pull the joke already but i think people are going to know i'm kidding so i'm not going to say anything yet i'm going to try to get as many reactions as possible god it's tempting though it's like when someone says who's joe and you just want to you just want to pull the trigger all right so we have no knockout round first round is no knock out and then every round after this the four slowest players get eliminated so with this it's just very important to be consistent as long as you're not among the slowest four you don't get eliminated but right now first in the splits which is an interesting uh prospect and third i don't think i can win this i'm a bit far i could try you can jump too low maybe i win second second from rufat you also have tony barker who i haven't heard of from uganda so first round here we go let's have a little bit safer lines now try not to hit anything a bit wider here that's okay now just this checkpoint watch out make sure you can get the gear make sure you don't crash here should be all good and then finally make sure you jump high enough so you don't crash them all right and we're gonna safe into a nice middle of the field position here all right let's arrive at the first round let's just keep doing i think i think this is a good approach just keep doing this even though i know i can go a little bit riskier it's just not worth it right now i could actually get a first place here i think that's first place mufap winning the round top 32 halfway i jumped a little high here still third still third jump high enough no risk don't really need to puts me six just outside like the visible players that's completely fine i just want to last here go far all right fifth back in the visible range back in very close race here now top 16 so now there's only two knockouts per round which means that if there are mistakes they are uh easier to it's easier to advance yeah the goal was top 10. i think in top 10 people have to notice i should not be there but let's see [Music] very close i'm getting sixth here which is nice but yeah only point eight now till moon nation so very close to isis i'll start again oh let's give you out this could be me out this could really be me out now oh no i had such a bad start [Music] that's so close i should hold that oh okay run yeah my start there was something else man it was really bad okay new thought stays alive baby the moon fought stays alive baby let's go top 12. a bit low here still in it top ten now so we got to the top ten this is what i wanted at this point there's only famous players and mufal there's only famous players in mufo all right top a one knockout per round now and we hold and we hold your voice from okay from turkey no i did a really bad start here oh god that's so wide it's gonna have to sit down to catch up i'm definitely going too wide here or at least in that attempt way too wide pretty slow pace this round oh i'm still in top six we're starting to look good here i like that i like that this is uh this is a good result now this is what we needed let's see how far we can really go this is a very close round look at the times man look at the splits oh it's between mufa and barker oh burger has the better line depends on the enemy with the inside layer the mufa will probably have it although it jumps way higher yeah crazy fourth with a point seven two i'm just hanging on by a thread here i am just hanging on by a thread top five i need to go faster now i need to go faster he is doing good so far for me his best result ever at least i've never seen him hey energies in my face it all right top four top four okay another point seven i gotta slightly step it up though because otherwise i'm gonna get wrecked because my pace has to be a little bit faster people have to notice right let's see how we can go i jumped this really isn't good i had to step up now if i drove the time i drove in the previous round now i would have been out jesus christ the level is insane top three oh my god good round wow good round we have a polish we have a turkish and we have a german let's see let's go foreign [Music] maybe he changed his name i actually made it to tough too no this is so troll this is actually so a troll yeah i felt like i had to okay mime is going out actually i'm facing the mysterious muffat tm from turkey i have no idea who that is i think we gotta wreck him let's go grand final let's make it happen all right here we [Music] go [Music] oh i tried i tried i tried with close man very close i knew i had to jump low because he had more speeds and uh i think we got our name up there i think we succeeded with the mission somehow i made it all the way to second place and it even could have been a win if i had lana the risky ending jump that i went for the funny thing is that this performance is the second best result i've ever gotten in a cup of the day after participating over 30 times and i got the result on a smurf account shocking everyone on the server the result was beyond my wildest expectations and i'm glad that this spontaneous idea turned into such a fun series of events if you want to watch me play more cups of the day that aren't undercover i
