Honestly the "problem" with isekai is the most overblown issue in recent anime history.

Every genre, if we can even call isekai a genre, is filled with just as many shitty entries as it and it has never been a problem.

Even if this topic is more played out then MySpace, this video is damn well made and puts other anituber videos to shame with its production values and tone.

now I'm sure your now as bored as I am just wondering why the ISA Kaiser onerous there was dominance as it is in anime that one lovely genre that everyone loves to hate one of the most common criticisms I hear of isa Kai's is that they are overdone and I will admit that is true like there's not a million of those yesterday I was in a library browsing some books and now I'm here this is the way of they say hi or to build in a more Western friendly context a story where the main character is sent to another world up until recent years it was a cool concept in the animal world you had a few shows here and there but then the boom happened Oh suddenly we got three no four no five is that guy shows per season to put it in perspective each season around 35 to 45 animal shows are released in total so that's wrong 10% of shows that are airing and it's not that there is a problem with the genre we're getting the same ratio of Romans shows slice of life shows adventure shows per season but with a second anime the problem lies with the execution for example in the eighth season Rock we that shows about working out magic tricks firefighters and in the second row we got a show about a fantasy world with an overpowered main character a fantasy world with an overpowered main character and a fantasy world with an overpowered main character oh that was a bit too spicy for my TV [Music] right now a Sakai in the name industry is synonymous with being transported into a fantasy medieval world but it didn't used to be like that or at least not as bare-bones as it is now before 2010 we had a varied range of shows like Digimon which took place in a virtual world Inuyasha in historical Japanese world even Peter Pan counts as a nice acai but back then those shows went under a more generic term of fantasy so why did so many of them start appearing all at once and in the same vein as to create the sub-genre that's now in award shows and make seasonal animal watchers wince in pain for brand new series this season are all a circus Boris the guys this season this season alone what the boom happened around 2012 because of sword art online I understand it's a bit of a taboo to talk about the show since the majority dislikes it but it did pave a way for this occasion raw while not really being any second itself though to be on the same page let's quickly go over what counts as in a second SEO is not a Sakai by the vrm and okay it's set in a digital world but the main character is still technically in the actual world dr. stone is not a nice egg hi but it just takes place in the future to be any Sakai you need to take place in a different world than where the character originates from and the transportation usually falls under these three categories rebirth where the main character dies and is resurrected in other worlds summoning where the main hero is transported to another world because of something that's happening over there and item which is the most vague but the transportation happens on the main characters end because of what they do like going through our gates activating a stone etc now that that's cleared up let's go back to how he said I came to be so SEO came out and it was a massive success it filled holes in people's hearts that they didn't know they even had everybody and their mother used to cosplay character to anemic homes but it's also inspired a lot of writers to make their own version or at least something similar most went with a straight up a Sakai because then you wouldn't have to juggle both the real world and the magical world and you could just stick with the magical stuff but this kept in the game elements even if people were anticipating a game because floating text boxes look cool and having a stat system makes it easier for the viewer to get an understanding of when the main hero is going to become overpowered speaking of which oh man so as a right turret you could combine video games and fantasy even if they didn't make much sense in that specific context but it's your world you're free to do whatever and so people did but that wasn't only reason for writing in second another major thing that helped with it was let's say you wanted to create the story about an Italian wine maker who stumbled upon a new brides have braved called Pinot Man year and that kick starts his career well phenomena actually originated from France so that stories and factually correct or was it Germany either way you'd get called out on that and if there were some wine police in my comment section I most likely had called out on the lack of knowledge - or maybe you want to create a historical story in classical Japan where you're just a farmer who grows some potatoes but nope potatoes were introduced to Asia during the sixteenth century you didn't up see and now you got the potato police saying good morning this man has committed a slight mistake on the internet and thus to escape the potato police it's easier to just write back history you can still create the story in classical Japan about the potato farmer but if you call it fantasy maybe throw in a smartphone or two then nobody can really question it there for a sec I was a really accessible writing medium for amateur writers and thanks to the internet everybody can get the stories out there websites like our Chioma and shostats Canon ro allow everybody to publish their stories there for free for a chance of recognition which is a really good thing giving us shows like log risin I won't take your pancreas and consumer but also giving a shows like in another world with my smartphone and death march to the parallel world Rhapsody SEL popularized the transition from amateur web normals light novels and the platform's boosted it by having their own charts solely devoted to Sakai but that just cost the web normally Kevon now that in the world was a bit unfazed from it for a couple of years up until around 2016 when re0 popped up which was a bit more straightforward in Sakai and investors finally took notice they started to see them to have potentially nisekoi anima and boom were roughly five years into this economy boom and it doesn't seem to be stopping but women wants this shows at this point fans are tired of generic economy coming out one after another and even the craters are being fed up since their works are being read less since it's hard to stand up among so many different works I think I found out who's the culprits I didn't think her ISA car would be my thing but it had a surprisingly interesting concept it's your isn't it get up they're making them because you just love to eat them up just yet and I'll be waiting for whatever weird [ __ ] concept that genre comes up with next the trash sure the better isn't it yes as much as we complain we're still a psycho trash you've doomed us all it's not hard to figure out why a second is popular you can pretty much sum it up in one word escapism which can already be applied to the entire medium of a name itself but this is more like double escapism even no longer will you have to escape your average life by looking at some high school students living in their own small bubble some dude killing hollows or a mastermind defeating villains instead the main character resume a normal human being who's fed up with being overworked maybe has some social anxiety or maybe just wants to kick back and play games it's someone you can relate to from the get-go and instead of just popping you down and showing your fantasy story it makes you relate to the character on a much more personal level which is also its downfall in a way if everybody likes something and is happy with it then there's really no reason to change it thus throughout this past years the whole entire Reese economy market has gotten pretty stale and you don't see many improvements being made there's no point in taking a risk and adapting something creative and unique just to see it fail if you can take your pick from tons of cookie cutter seconals that are almost proven to generate money at this point they might have some minor changes but that's about and not only that but they're even going back to alder Isaac I like Issa chi-chi magician which came out after SEO and adapting those the thing is that it was one of the first to pop off generating tropes that are seeing to this state but it doesn't have any reason to exist in this year right now it's just a very basic show the only noticeable thing that they've improved on in the genre is that they don't focus on an otaku as the main character that much anymore they now include more normal people who actually go outside and are a productive member of the society I know this is a lot to take in and if you're an avid animal fan then you're probably most likely tired of all these eka coming out and won't check out any new shows if they even have a hint of being an insect guy but don't skip this genre just yet I got a good method for sorting the bad from the good first of all pay attention to the name their names are getting more descriptive every year you don't need to think too much about stories like restaurant to another world devil is a part-timer or high school prodigies have it easy even in another worlds have they heard of SEO like searchability and stuff I mean who names this secondly lost a character have any personality easy very bland so it's easier to insert yourself into his position and toss the story charg on like let's play on YouTube okay so I just killed some slimes upgrade my shield and yeah now I just got to do it all over again for a week I don't know any tips on how to do it faster stop being such a little bit thirdly does it have one thing that separates it from the rest of these second shows and only that one thing for example something like a smartphone or a mom in that case it has a huge chance of falling into the more standard Asako storyline later on when they can't think of anything new to do with that specific item forcely does it take place in a medieval setting that's a surefire sign of it being generic or at least that's what I'd like to say classifying music I threw that would exclude literally 99% of them leaving like the saga of toy and evil and that's pretty much it the thing is that most of them suck and there's really no way of telling them apart you can have one show that works like reason which is a fantasy story with one main element that separates it from the rest and takes place in a medieval world and then have another show with the same exact qualities that bombs the only difference is to writing and there's really no way of telling the show is good or not without watching it so is there really a problem with this okay well the sacred self is a bottomless barrel of creativity that has proven to be fresh and interesting if you're on the web normal light novel side of things but sadly if you're illiterate and can only watch animals out then yes there is a problem with it which most likely isn't going to be addressed anytime soon or at least until a new genre venema pops up that makes it a relevance and stops it from bringing in the fat stacks now that has been all for today and if you'd like to see more videos like these don't forget to comment subscribe like and hit the Bell Watson or else
