going to Queens with Action Bronson to check out some of his favorite pizza I love a piece of fresh out of the oven hopping on the ferry to Staten Island my friend Vic is gonna take me on the pizza crawl probably this pizza night worth coming all over the bridge and ending it all and onto Avenue my favorite pizza partner mark icon oh it's raining superstar but we're on the street is is the best piece I'm out there and this is like primo real deal we're gonna hit three boroughs that I'm neat way more than three slice I'm ready [Music] I'm starting a true Guardians with the real King of Queens Action Bronson on one of his favorite spots Danny's house of pizza young Frankie P in the building you feeling good feeling great amazing you look good I like it I just came from the Bronx I was mixing concrete get at it yeah yeah he's doing some construction work up there no shelling he's hanging hey guys ready James up pizza today can you believe they're Albanians from Australia no way that's the background of Denny's yeah guys how paintings I haven't heard about Albanians in Australia until I met this guy so what's the slice you go from here just a regular yeah the regular slices uh papi those two slices this is the neighborhood spot since you've been like a kid came here with the crew this world to do Chang that we all chilled here yeah there's so many places in Cannes for legendary slice thank you you know what you have to have you have to have a fountain soda so we need two cokes please what I sounds great this slice of goodness is in your classic prototypical New York slice the sauce is a sweeter than usual I love a piece of fresh out of the oven but I like when it sits a second and then you put it back in the okay that's actually the reek runch this slice got some weight to it this is gonna suck Neil just goes with the fountain coke is unreal hot summer day Wow let me get one chicken parmesan also please there it is so you do the chicken palm no bread no pasta just straight up space the mix of the fried chicken with the sauce and the mozzarella just hits a spot interesting it tastes so good I like bubbly with that made an impact crazy in my house oh the holes at the body was heavy like yo all day long let's make that we were experimenting with pizzas back then always what other Pizza sponsors are like close to heart around you it was actually one spot in the neighborhood down the block on 117th on Jamaica like in between murder and Jamaica call Alfie's I love the square there but she's God I mean I'm a corner I love this enormous Australian and there's a spot on 117 in Jamaica for Spanish chicken and some of the best hot sauce you've ever had cuz we're gonna get the hot sauce from the Spanish spot we're gonna put it on Alphaeus corner slice is that a thing that's the thing [Music] can i buy like a thing a hot sauce look at this hot sauce this is the Holy Grail oh that right there's the snuff I can see the color that's this stuff of legend you see that ooh it's next level open Atticus or follow if it's right in there have you ever tasted like that yeah it has a very unique flavor what's up baby Thank You Man oh yeah the bus New the way we make it takes a while because you got to poke the pizza first and then put sauce gonna put the cheese you put it back in the oven for another eight minutes it is time-consuming but it's got about food or eating the last time I saw Vic he promised to take me on a pizza tour of his bar Staten Island oh my don't thank you I wanna Staten Island Ferry right now in my opinion one of the best public transportations in New York City we're about to pass the Statue of Liberty we're gonna meet Vic Vic is very passionate about food he knows all the best restaurants all the best bakeries [Music] they have no idea what's coming they better be serving it hot and crispy well what's this scene like out here tell me about Staten Island that Ireland is a nice place a great place there's a lot of the you know the Italians from Brooklyn that are out here now and in the loom they're getting the loans that's it the routines are all cool jeans with it that like my god it was Ben I was the Cugine one of course of course - I had to spiky hair the whole thing and then we have the super Ellis they think it cushioned but they're not but you know what the KU jeans comes along good food right yeah of course right now we're on our way to least having least Ivan's been here for a very long time [Music] Lee's tavern is a perfect place to hang with your friends drink a beer and eat some pizza doesn't feel like much has changed in 70 plus years it's been open good thanks for having us do what do you reckon that sounds good I am pie one chicken up yeah [Music] [Applause] look at that pot it's cooked to perfection bubbly oh yeah I love pizza that's texture like they're standing crispy it's got the flavor from the topping I love that chicken back I could tell already I'm gonna like this one oh yeah here we go [Music] delicious right bang I love these Terry puppets they're like I can eat them like potato chips I can't stop nice flavor all the time it's like what's it all hanging off my chin can you get that in high-definition [Music] [Laughter] we're gonna go a short ride and we're gonna go to Goodfellas Pizza famous fellas fellas a vodka slice is bar none this is Frank Andrew signora can we trouble you for one of your world-famous vodka pies no trouble at all my friend so we do a homemade vodka cream sauce we only use fresh mozzarella and then we top it with seasoned mushrooms sweet peas after it's cooked it gets brittle de Parma and an ice shaving of fresh Reggiano great New York classic Italian dish turned into a pizza here you go oh I like this pizza already I could tell you that right now Frankie all right here we go gotta check it out I like to consistency this piece in the bottom of it the smell the sense is coming off this pizza huh tell me this pizza might work coming over the bridge delicious now you're good no cheese on the chin you're looking good yeah it's so good I noticed when we walked in Andrew on the right hand side is like the wall of fame yeah who's coming through yeah man Regis filming Tom Cruise Penelope Cruz every mayoral hopeful and elect the past 25 years you didn't see the de Blasio Fork this is where it happened you know this is where we yeah right will you sit oh I think he was in office maybe eight days you know he got a business meeting with local guys on the island cuz we wanted to get to know that in Iowan do one of the press women walk up to me and she says you see what he's doing he's eaten it with the form oh no maybe five minutes I checked my phone it's all over the Internet all right yeah this here no good got the slice size it up Oh Marlon that's Peter today is you know this is a beautiful day it's a little rainy but good day to eat pizza I forget where I was I'm like okay we're gonna grow it then he knows now what is going on me you think I Tarzan and Jane they get a little carried away and I ain't freaking Halloween I mean you know it's pizzeria Tavern Nino's is one of Vic's regular spots so he took the order into his own hands this is cold scungilli and that's punch with a little celery lemon olive oil black pepper this is scungilli in a medium hot sauce fried baby Gollum ah excellent Denis nose wings and then we got the pizza coming buon appetito excellent and with pain really really good this is delicacies these are Italian delicacies scungilli you don't even get that them that often you want those wings when you eat one you don't see I love them Wow there it is I love this style of pizza oh yeah real girl on top look at Ellie on it I don't know how much I could eat yeah I told you I'm gonna go with the sausage first yeah yeah the petite or Japan we think I just bunk the room for my mouth that's a good thing the cross is so good it's just got that nice well-done bottom the sausage is delicious mozzarella is nice and milking oh my gray tomato sauce and Parmesan Reggiano oh look at that stretch [Music] the arugula on top olive oil all all good ingredients I'm loving it it's kind of bad babe right now right across the street from Denis noses Ralph's and it wouldn't be a summer night in Staten Island without an Italian ice the girls are sweet like the ice all right all right done love the first sight nice way to end a beautiful day here and start now Staten Island pizza Staten Island forever you girls want to take a selfie with me go right ahead whip them out come on get in here here you go [Music] I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but I've never been taught to having the little italy-- of the Bronx I'm making up for lost time with my friend mark hey what's up brother the market about the Avenue huh you know what I can't believe I've never been here before I feel like this I can't believe you've never been here I know well you know how it is in Brooklyn you stay in your neighborhood nobody leaves right this is like the new Little Italy right yep [Music] tonight's dinner have you cooked rabbit lately no so good huh Mike rabbit I love it in Italy they make it all the time how you doing very good we're both Brooklyn guys our time up here in the Bronx Wow we're kind of checking out all the avenues see it's not your place to be baby the market has been here since 1940 we've been here since 1970 we've been here for a long long time this is the real old-world Italian a boy it's more like a family-oriented neighborhood you know everybody knows each other we're gonna get some pizza I think so Cafe a la Mikado these are those delicious thank you so much well you have four couple slices we don't recommend well we have so many we got sausage and peppers this one over here is called boss get this chopped tomatoes celery basil and onion and then we have a margarita I go with the cheese on the bottom and the dish on top yeah I like upside down let me do one of the bruschetta please please when I one sauces in Pouncy one sauces in okay so one one and one right that's right oh right yeah we will agree but I just want to try son by me you a fan oh I'll give it a shot like that thank you thank Manhattan specials remind me of you anytime I see Manhattan special I think it was in my baby bottle you going for the sausage and peppers I think so that smells unbelievable this is really good well the crust on it is nice there's the tripe with the octopus salad ought to have any breakfast right here tripe and octopus we're gonna go easy we'll do a lot here all right we're gonna do some Andrew 'cimmanon stuff over here it looks like a beehive all right here we go here you go honeycomb tripe I don't know the texture for me just swallow - yeah all right kid don't have a cereal bowl of cereal right now oh man I wish this tasted like cereal all the avenue 18th Avenue Court Street they were yeah so there was really no reason for me or you to come up here to eat Italian food back in the day but now since things are kind of spot now this is our new 18th Avenue yeah it's crazy I think we did what we had to do here you ain't in it out to eff you don't to have someone's right if you're done well good our first stop about the Avenue is tidal brothers a shop filled with old-school Italian delicacies and every meat and cheese you could imagine we're very lucky to run into the unofficial mayor outside so what's the story with title brothers a big man right behind you and plays you to meet you thank you for having city over the skull on the block all just on the block like eight years old you're 80 god damn right man you look great for ad really great to playing the game like I'm 35 it's a baby play today well let's say mr. mayor it was a pleasure to meet the mayor yeah isn't that beauty man get it that beauty mask hey hey you doing good good you guys need up Mike Frank pallone nice to meet you pleasure thanks for having us you got you guys have been here since 1915 my dad said came from Austria originally they were tailors says when they came and they came to the neighborhood it was predominately tiny neighborhood and they went from being tailors opening Italian food products company this is what everybody comes top every goods on the parmigiano Romano this is my favorite goat's milk cheese pecorino let me show you a little prosciutto okay so this is appreciative Department fresh homemade mozzarella with an aged balsamic this is why I like hanging out with you I mean it's so old school they still have the wood chips on the floor they have the meat hanging this is what I wanted to see an Arthur Avenue this is what it's all about next up is Costanza's just down the street they have tons of fresh seafood for sale inside but I'm here for one thing the sidewalk clams well the one thing that we were told was to come here have some clams and oysters I don't know when maybe mix the clams and how many years have you on your family vinnie 99 years left years 100 yeah just 1918 you gradually thank you how do you recommend eating these do you put a little hot sauce oh I go a little lemon in a little cocktail sauce a little lemon I keep it simple salut cousin good ox oh good the perfect clean delicious one of the oldest restaurants on Arthur Avenue is marios a real classic Italian red sauce joint and I've heard the owner Josef is making some of the best pizza in the Bronx they've been making pizza here since the early 1900's and it's not even on the menu [Music] he makes the best the best pizza the best Easter ever even though he's my dad [Music] up here not to having you you guys are in the Bronx what's the style of pizza that you make here Neapolitan pizza hello but we put everything on them we do them all in these different ways right but my favorite is the margaritas it's just up highest in crisp you can fold there it's a positive space we started in 1919 so Mario was your my father and my father said when he came after school he used to make come to make pieces but he couldn't reach the counter see he had a coca-cola box since they're not there to make the pot Wow like to talk about getting started young yeah he's here I make them up I have a few of them at home as they wear out do you make this yourself yeah that's unbelievable you're the first pizza man I've seen making his own peels and throwing the pizza up it's only Schulz show I mean I could do it you know but it doesn't it doesn't make the pizza or any better yes [Music] I love that a little bit of black pepper olive oil and we put it in the other so the pizza here if you're lucky enough to get a pizza yeah it's special because it's not a pizzeria it's a restaurant and then we have the King making the pizza that we go there it is she's Pablo and it looks delicious you hear wood crunch my color that's the best part how's that amazing I'm going for this one I know this is sick I know I'm gonna light this pizza already you could hear the crunch when you rolled it oh you hear that [Music] welcome back that regular gas other it tastes like coal level Pizza I'm telling you this the dull was proofed beautifully and you could just see it came out with bubbles and it just I wanted to eat it right off of that pan the word on the street is is the best piece I'm not there and you this is like primo real deal seventy-eight years of experience I can't remember the list when I was a kid I had a cross like this really I must remind you of Italian bread no phones oh my god I gotta shake your hand this is delicious so good that's super speed is these technique set what passed down to you is this some of the stuff that you develop on your own no no that's the formula that's the formula that's a formula well the formula works just left Mario's had some of the most delicious pizza in the Bronx and it was just like all-around great day I feel really honored like to eat his pizza yeah you know like hey I'm making that pizza for us was really special it really was oh this is a great day and not too heavy thanks for having me come on always you know I love having you it's I really enjoy watching the show, but the pizza looks hit and miss. Of course he says he loves all of it, but some of the pizza does not look good.
