so today is a requested video I'm going to show you how I make ribeye steak in a pan well done so to start I have a baking pan and I'm going to sprinkle flaky salt all over the bottom I'm actually using a smoked sea salt any type of salt or seasoning works I I think now I'm going to add my black pepper and I've already prepped my steak I left it on the countertop for 15 minutes to take the chill off this helps with a more even cook and I've patted it dry so now I'm going to place the stake on top of the salt and pepper and just repeat the process for the top of the steak now you do want to make sure you Pat the steak dry because this also helps with a nice sear and crust on the exterior so another tip I have for my people that do not want to see medium rare or pink in the center of your steak using cuts that are less than one inch thick helps if you're using a thicker cut sometimes it's hard to cook all the way through you might end up with seeing pink in the center so I'm just going to Pat the top of this steak just to sort of press in the salt and pepper and now I'm going to preheat my cast iron skillet you'll want to preheat the pan until you start seeing wisps of smoke kind of coming off the pan now I'm going to add a tablespoon or so of grapeseed oil and now add your steak now I know a lot of people might be in the comment section going no you're overcooking the steak but there are a lot of people that don't like to eat steak with pink in the center so this video is for them this is why it was requested I like to cook each side for at least 3 minutes and I want to get a good sear on the first side before turning and I notice one side of my pan is hotter than the other so I'm sort of going to turn it so that the thicker part is on the hottest part of the pan now I'm going to add some aromatics I'm going to add some fresh thyme rosemary and garlic and I will be adding around two tablespoons of unsalted butter and I'm just going to continue to cook and baste the steak but this is optional salt and pepper on ribeye steak goes a long way in my house it's just is good [Music] foreign so my steak is done I'm going to shut off the heat and I'm going to remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on the plate cutting board or another baking sheet you'll want to let it rest for at least 10 minutes [Music] so my steak is well rested and now I'm going to cut into it to show you what it looks like and for those of you that like well done steak I think you're gonna like this so I hope you give this recipe a try I hope you like it and thanks for watching
