mean bless the lord from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same the name of the lord is worthy to be praised is there anybody other than me that's just glad god has kept you another day come on can we just take 10 more seconds right there and thank god come on the song said we worship we adore you there's nobody like you and we fill this house with praise tonight because god is good just like that i am so elated to be able to worship with you all in spirit and in truth tonight thank you all so much for tuning in i know there are a few scattered saints around the sanctuary and we're so excited to see you but i'm also excited for our virtual church the virtual ship come on can we thank god for all of those who are not able to be in the sanctuary but we cherish the fact that you and your family have joined in to worship with us tonight and it just feels good it feels good it feels good to know that god is with us and we're in for a special special treat tonight i'm excited because listen we're still celebration the installation celebration of our church come on this is the season come on put those hands together and thank god for what god is doing in the life of fellowship and to all of you you you and you i want to pause and just say thank you thank you for rocking with us we had church on saturday for about 16 hours and i mean it was rich every hour got better and better we were in here all day long but i told the church on sunday everything was meaningful and so from the bottom of my heart i want to thank fellowship i want to thank you all so much i love you thank you for praying with us and supporting us to our installation team to my staff that works here god bless you and to one lady who helped both out she was just everywhere that day and i and i did and i omitted to call her name and she doesn't do it for her name to be called but without her many of our guests and our friends who made it here would not have been able to receive that good southern midwestern hospitality that we do on the ship can y'all help me thank god for deacon linda dinard my executive assistant come on get real real loud for her and thank god for her spirit her work ethic i thank you deacon linda we would not have been able to do it without you and the person who just ran around and made sure everything was in place y'all show some love to pass the pope come on let's thank god for pastor pope thank you so much for the servant heart that you have sir i love people who don't need to be seen i love people who don't need any pat on the back they just do it because they love god and those are the kind of people i like around me and i thank god for our staff our team el divassa the music ministry the media ministry the medical ministry the parking come on y'all just thank god for everybody lottie daddy and everybody i'm looking around the room and i see so many special faces one one brother is in the room tonight worshiping with us and i'm so excited to have him he doesn't know it but i consider myself a virtual member of his church and i am so blessed by his ministry and to have he and his wife with us tonight worship him just feels good i love when preachers support each other and i'm so glad that i'm in chicago a city that's known for supporting each other somebody say man bishop brandon jacobs is in the house with lady viv come on coming up quickly on the screen are seven ways to give and i want you to sow whenever you come into god's house we ought to bring some resources into god's house i teach it all the time wherever you grow you sow wherever you grow you sow and so if you've been growing on the virtual ship even tonight on a tuesday night i encourage you to sow because we know that wherever there's a principle there's a promise connected to it and so as you give tonight don't just do it just to do it do it from a place of faith do it from a a place of belief that god will honor god's word let's pray god we thank you so much for your holy spirit we thank you for your presence that's aboard the virtual ship we thank you god that we can fill your presence with us for the preachers and the psalmists that are on the way for the life-giving messages and the soul-storing worshiping songs that will be lifted tonight we give you praise in advance god we open our mouths and tell you do what you have to do god have your way in our lives answer prayers we haven't even prayed open doors we haven't even knocked on send resources that we don't even know we need let us experience net breaking boat sinking blessings all over our lives and we consider it done in the name of jesus let everybody say amen amen and amen i don't know why this song is on my heart but listen we sang a little bit of it on sunday well and thriving is amazing and you know we not i don't know about um other people my age but i'm not worried about where this world is going because i see young men like you and your family leading this christian life amen but listen i want to just give you some good news as you travel you're going to have some ups and some doubts but i just want you to remember god is with you and he's more than the whole world against you sometimes [Music] can change suddenly and you'll find it hard to even breathe so used to being strong there'll be times you're barely hanging on but you've got to stand tall or too many would fall what would people say if they knew [Music] i felt this way then god gave me this refrain and i'll never be the same [Music] [Applause] me that he would always be us god is with us so as you're pastoring and you get a little lonely because all the friends you thought you had just you know kind of jealous and kind of you had to shift now how could you leave us back here remember god is with you and not only is he with you he's happy for you god with you would you mind just stretch your hands toward them and declare that with me all god is with you god is of his holiness in this place called fellowship chicago are you glad to be here i know those of us who are in this room are glad to be here those of us who are watching all around the world are grateful that we have the opportunity to celebrate god even in a virtual space on the virtual ship as i've learned to call it and i thank god for the opportunity that is ours to gather together will you help me celebrate the one we honor during this week and weekend this past weekend the reverend reginald w sharp jr to god be the glory the newly installed pastor of fellowship chicago and what a blessing it is to celebrate you today sir we've been celebrating you all weekend and into the week now and you are worthy of double honor says the scriptures and so it's our joy to honor you during this time and the woman who stands beside you in marriage and ministry we thank god for first lady shark praise the name of the lord praise the name of the lord what a joy it is to be with you and what a joy it is to know you you are a blessing to know and we thank god for you uh to all of the reverend clergy who are in this place certainly to bishop jacobs who is here we thank god for you sir we honor your presence with lady jacobs god bless you and dr teresa fry brown will be preaching tomorrow night preaching tomorrow night dr brown is here all of the reverend clergy who are here i i will um i will share this just as we're standing preparing for the word of god um that um you know during this pandemic um we have uh our family has become church hoppers i have to admit it we have become like most people in the nation church hoppers and uh we we start off at wheeler avenue that just makes sense right that makes sense so we start off at wheeler avenue but before the day is done all the way into the evening hours we just go all across the country and watch a whole bunch of churches every sunday that the lord sins we watch fellowship chicago and we are blessed by the ministry of this church and every sunday we dance all over the kitchen as we're watching bishop jacobs we dance all over the house every single sunday so thank you so much for allowing us to worship with you all during this pandemic time it's been a joy to be blessed by your ministries and other ministries and we thank god for the opportunity uh to be here together tonight will you help me celebrate my houston sister says kathy taylor will you help me thank god for her that's my girl right there praise god for her she's such a blessing everywhere she goes and i thank god for her and for the opportunity to be with her and to minister with her tonight in this place there's a word from the lord tonight if you have your bibles i invite your attention to a very familiar passage of scripture found in the old testament prophecy of isaiah the old testament prophecy of isaiah at chapter 40. the old testament chapter 10 prophecy of isaiah chapter 40. we'll begin our reading tonight at verse 31. the old testament prophecy of isaiah chapter 40 we'll begin our reading at the familiar verse 31 if you have that passage of scripture say amen if you don't say wait for me it seems that we all have it here in the sanctuary let me share this passage of scripture from the known king james version of the holy word of god and this is what it says but they that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not get weary and they shall walk and not faint amen praise god for his holy word you may be seated in the presence of our good and gracious god but they that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not get weary and they shall walk and not faint for the time in his house to share together tonight i want to talk simply from the subject's strength to keep going strength to keep going weary weak worn those are three words that could very easily and aptly describe the people of god who are presented to us who receive this word from god in isaiah chapter 40. these are they known as the children of israel the chosen ones of god god's hand-picked individuals but when we get to know a bit of their story as a consequence of the context of their circumstance they are weary weak and worn they're exhausted they're exasperated they've expended all of their energy and it seems like they just can't go on any farther here they are these people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired dealing with the rough reality of their life's journey and they can't do much of anything about it and i don't know if you've ever been at that space in life before but many of us know what it means to be weary weak and worn many of us know what it means to be exhausted exasperated expended of all energy with no visible means by which we can carry on to the next level of our lives and here they are god's chosen people the apple of god's eye the ones upon whom god has laid his own hand and he loves them with an everlasting love but at the time we are in introduced to them we are dealing with a people who can't believe that chosen folk are being chastened like this and we have to wrestle with the reality that even those of us who know the lord quite well those of us who know that we are a peculiar people a royal priesthood those of us who have been walking with the lord for several seasons of life we have to even admit that even we too sometime will be weary we can warn we too will be exhausted and exasperated expended of all of our energy we too will sometimes want to wave the white flag of surrender throw in that proverbial tile tell somebody stop this ride i want to get off life my friends if you haven't learned it yet life will knock the life out of you life will wear you out life will have you up against the ropes wondering whether or not you'll be able to rebound or recover life will sometimes do to you but you never anticipated never saw it coming and here these folk are who have now been ripped stripped robbed from their homeland they are no longer in the place where they would like to be they can no longer do the things they would like to do nebuchadnezzar and his imps now has his proverbial foot on their necks and they cannot do what they want to do and here's the challenge these are singing people these are shouting people these are celebrating people but at the time of their this text they have seemingly no song left in them they are not shouting now they are not celebrating now as a matter of fact when you read psalm 137 you'll hear their whole report their captors required of them a song and here's what they said in response how can we sing the lord's song in a strange land and there's somebody listening to me tonight who knows that feeling quite well somebody who's a member of the ship you know what it means to be a singing people uh shouting people or celebrating people but when you've been away from everything that is near and dear to you for an extended period of time sometime you feel like you have no song to sing sometimes you feel like you have no shout left in you and maybe this is not for everybody maybe your spirituality is so advanced and elevated that you've never felt like this but for the rest of the 99.9 of us we know what it means to be exhausted exasperated expended of all of our energy we know what it means to be sister hamer sick and tired of being sick and tired we know how it feels not to want to do what we know we're supposed to do and here they are in the midst of their struggle in the midst of their strife in the midst of their tribute tribulation and tumult and they are dealing with a reality from which they will get no swift release 70 years is their lot in life they have to be away from their homeland for 70 years seven decades of turmoil seven decades of frustration and agitation and aggravation and consternation seven decades of not being able to do what you want to do come here we've been away for 19 months and we know how we feel these folk been away for 70 years and they have to deal with the rough reality that life ain't always fair and here they are church family here they are friends here here they are saints of god having to deal with the reality that things are not going the way they want them to go and in the midst of that god decides that the way i need to encourage my people is to raise up a prophet who will speak a word on their behalf speak a word into their forlorn circumstance and let them know that i'm with them in the midst of the frustration i'm with them in the midst of their weariness i'm with them in the midst of their consternation i got them i know exactly where they are i know exactly what they need and in time i will do for them what nobody else is able to do god chooses to raise up a prophet i'm so glad that god always has somebody to speak on god's behalf to let us know that in the midst of our frustration and agitation god is still in complete control and my word to somebody at the outset of this message is do not take this season for granted because even though you don't like the season you're in god isn't it with you that's such good news on this tuesday night that god never leaves us god never forsakes us god never takes his hand off of us our god is still faithful even to a thousand generations and so tonight i've got to take a gander yet again pastor sharp at this beloved passage of scripture in isaiah chapter 40 because as you look at these individuals who feel like they're fledgling and failing and faltering they hear a word from the lord that lets them know that everything is going to be all right you know why i love our job so much that no matter how bad the circumstance no matter how demoralizing the season no matter how much the season drains and depletes us god always has somebody to stand up on his behalf to speak to his people and let them know that all things are going to work together for your good i need some bible believers tonight who still believe that god knows how to work all things together for our good to testify i'm sticking with god because god is able to do exceeding abundantly above all i can ask or think weary we can warn exhausted exasperated expended of all of their energy drained depleted but the divine has a word to speak and when the divine speaks he raises up this guy named isaiah says go talk to my people and let them know that everything is going to be all right and if you walk through chapter 40 you'll find out that isaiah speaks to them in such loving tones from the from the mouth of god he speaks to them as an oracle of god to let them know that god is in it with them and he gives to them what i call first of all a word of guaranteed comfort a word of guaranteed comfort if your bible is open if your app is still unlocked you'll find out that right around verse 1 god says hey isaiah that's what i want you to do comfort ye comfort ye my people let them know that i got them speak comfortably to my people let them know that warfare is accomplished let them know that their time of tribulation is soon to come to an end now god says this to them as they're going into the season to let them know that he already knows the end from the beginning he lets them know don't you get so stressed out by this season that you don't know i'm still sovereign don't you get so messed up by this season that you don't recognize i'm still master of even the tempest that is raging don't you let this season mess you up so much that you can't remember that i'm still in complete control comfort my people speak comfortably to my people let them know that their warfare is accomplished their tribulation is going to come to an end and this is how he says that i love it i love it he says every valley shall be exalted every hill and mountain is going to be made low the crooked places are going to be made straight the rough places are going to be made plain and the glory of the lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together okay 20 people in the room caught it i got to make sure everybody else gets it before i move on this is what god says let me comfort you i know you messed up right now i know your mind's playing tricks on you but watch this you need to know every valley it's going to be exalted every hill and mountain is going to be made low the crooked places are going to be made straight the rough places are going to be made plain and the glory of the lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together okay that's about 85 percent of the room i got to preach until everybody gets it ain't got nothing to do till tomorrow the bible says every mountain shall be brought low every valley is going to be exalted the crooked places are going to be made straight and the rough place is plain and the glory of the lord shall be revealed and everybody gonna see it yeah god says when i hook you up when i bring you out when i turn this thing around it will not be a secret service operation it will not be covert ops i'm going to lift your head above your enemy roundabout and everybody's going to see that if you belong to me i can bring you out with a testimony that it is no secret what god can do what he's done for others he'll do for you yes lord he said i'm going to turn this thing around i'm going to show you what divine reversals look like i'm going to show you how i'm able to take your worst and turn it into your best i'll show you i'm able to take what you don't like and work it weave it move it together for your good i'm gonna turn this thing around yeah don't don't don't don't don't flip out on me yet don't don't give up on me yet god says don't don't throw in the towel yet i promise you that this too shall pass as a matter of fact he says i i know how you feel you're you're fumbling you're fledgling you're faltering through this thing cause all flesh is grass he says i get it you're not as stable as you like to be you dealing with some instability if some of you would testify take the microphone tonight you'd have to admit that over these past months there's been some instability in your situation i said if you got the microphone and you would tell the truth you were unstable in some of these moments of this this quarantine this pandemic somebody can testify your mind plays some tricks on you some of you can testify you didn't know how it was really going to work out and you still don't but somebody needs to hear the lord saying don't you worry about that all flesh is grass don't worry about that and the grass withers yeah it does and the flower fades but the word of our god shall stand forever you want to know so why some of y'all tuned in on a tuesday night after you watch church on sunday and after you were in church on saturday it's because you still believe that when a word is spoken from god it is able to turn the trajectory of the entirety of your situation can i find 12 people in this place and 20 more in the virtual space who can testify i still believe that when god speaks things change i said when god speaks see things change anybody still need a word from the lord anybody still want to hear god's perspective on your situation somebody ought to testify that when god speaks it lightens my lord when god speaks it lets me know everything's gonna be all right when god speaks he says stuff like weeping man endure for a night but joy is coming in the morning anybody's still holding out for a joyful season anybody still believe that no matter how bad the circumstance gets no weapons yes lord yes lord that is formed against me shall be able to prosper can i find 12 people who will help me celebrate the fact that even if you're weary and well doing just keep on holding on because in due season you shall reap if you faint not all flesh is grass i get it you're a little unstable right now you're faltering don't worry about that you just get you some word in you that word will stand you up when you feel like falling down you get you some word in you and that word will increase your strength even when you feel like all your strength is gone god says when you can't handle it in your own strength i got some strength for you it's around verse 10 11. he said listen you need to understand that i'm your shepherd i'm your shepherd head and i'm gonna feed my flock like a shepherd and i'm gonna carry the young ones in my bosom and uh when you need that sweet tender god to be on your side i'll be the shepherd who holds you close to myself and let you know that everything's gonna be all right but when you get in that tight spot that you can't handle by yourself right then everest he also says i'm the strong god who is able to defend you and fight your battles you missed it let me give it to you again he says i am that i am and i can be everything you need me to be just when you need me to be at most if you need me to be a shepherd i can hold on to you and rock you in the cradle of my arms but if you in that tight fix and you need me to be the strong god i'll show up and fight your battle and make your enemies sit still can i find anybody in church tonight who has ever seen god hold you close to himself hold you close enough to let you know that as he whispers sweet nothing's in your ear that he'll rock you to sleep at night and then wake you up rejuvenated in the morning but then there's some people who've had some problems on the job some problems in your house some problems in your finances and you found out that the strong god can step in and work that thing out for your good the bible says lift up your heads o ye gates and b ye lifted up ye everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in who is this king of glory the lord strong and mighty the lord mighty in battle you do not have to walk around depressed all year long you do not have to walk around moping all year long do you know who your god is it's a word of guaranteed comfort i got you i don't care what's going on around you i got you i don't care how ugly it is in your situation i got you i don't care if nobody else is walking through this with you i got you yeah i got you and so it's a word of guaranteed comfort i says don't you stress out too madly too badly that you can't see me working things out yes yes lord don't you flip out so badly you don't see me working things out don't don't you cuss them out so tough that you can't see me working things out anybody in here know your god will work things out all right it is it's a word of guaranteed comfort but keep reading the text because once you finish with verses one through eleven by time you get to verses 12 to 27 the longest part of the periphery he gives to us not just a word of guaranteed comfort but he continues to speak to us a word about our great creator word about our great creator yes yeah word about a great create he begins in verse 12 uh to encourage these beleaguered individuals remember they're weary week one they're going through about to go through the worst circumstance of their entire life and so he has to help them isaiah does to remember who their god is did i just say that to you he has to help them remember who's on their side he says do you know who your god is and how he does it i love it i t how he does it he gives to them a bevy of rhetorical questions he just begins to ask questions that they already know the answer to and they know that the answer every time he asks a question is god no no you missed it your bible's closed you missed it so he he gives to them a list from verse 12 all the way to verse 27 a list of rhetorical questions they don't even have to answer because they know in their own spirits that every answer to every question is god asked who measured out the waters who measured out the heavens who flung the hills and mountains into the space into the into the places where they are and he just begins to ask all of these questions about our great creator and it reminds them of just how majestic and amazing and magnificent our god really is you know sometimes no matter how spiritual we profess to be even those of us who are god's chosen people can allow life circumstances to weigh so heavily upon us that sometimes we have to be reminded who our god is whose children we really are and i got to come back to this here pastor sharp because it seems to me that as i peruse and survey the landscape of contemporary christianity we have become so egocentric that we've forgotten how to be theocentric uh oh lord help me a bunch of our sermons and our songs and all that we do in church i'm not shouting is all about me me me me me and we've forgotten god god god god god and uh i got a funny feeling and a sneaky suspicion that we'd be a whole lot better as a believing community if we turned our attention back to god yeah worship is not about us worship is about god uh um the video said that i grew up in chicago and i did i grew up at emmanuel baptist church 8301 south damon avenue chicago illinois six zero six two zero at rev dr lk curry was my pastor and uh in emmanuel baptist church he and pastor evans were very good friends and at emmanuel baptist church every sunday we sang four hymns in morning worship early sunday uh kathy just sang 12 hymns in one song but we just we would sing four hymns every sunday if i sharp bishop we had to sing every verse of every hymn pastor curry said if the writer didn't want you to sing it the writer wouldn't have written it so he had to sing every verse and the refrain in between the verses and then you were singing the chorus twice at the end of the song and one of those hymns that we used to sing as what was called the intro we had the intro hymn congregational hymn sermon him and invitational him and at the introit hymn we would sing a song went like this we have come into this house gathered in his name to worship him the second stanza said let's lift up holy hands magnify his name and worship him we need to bring the third stanza back because the third senator said forget about yourself concentrate on him and worship him can i find 10 people in here who'll turn your attention away from your problems away from your circumstances away from your situation and start concentrating on him if you concentrate on him you won't need an organ to make you happy if you concentrate on him you won't need a praise leader to tell you to put your hands together if you concentrate on him you'll find out that when you concentrate on him your whole disposition will begin to change can i find somebody in here who's in your kitchen thinking about god and you just smiling some people think you were crazy if they were to look at you while you having your own personal moments of worship while you driving in your car you ain't talking to nobody on your bluetooth you just telling god i love you i love you i love you i love you anybody in church still love my god anybody in church still believe he's a waymaker anybody believe he's a stormtamer anybody believe he's worthy of all of our praise oh lord our lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth somebody ought to focus on your god for a little while it'll shift everything about your situation can i go old school in a new school church old school saints in my church and then in this church back in the day they sing a song like oh lord my god when i in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made i see the stars i hear the rolling thunder thy power throughout the universe display and when i think about that then sings my soul my savior god to thee how great thou art how great does anybody know you got a great god i wish you just take five seconds and give your great god great praise right here in the middle of point two somebody ought to thank god he's still great and mighty [Music] man you better wait till point three i got a little more work to do what's this he says i need to tell you some things about our great god there is nobody like him nobody who can compare to him no one who is god's equal no one who can stand beside god your god is in a class all by himself how great is our god sing with me how great is our god oh we'll see how great yes lord how great is our god anybody believe he's a great god as a matter of fact name above all names you are worthy of our praise yes lord and my heart will sing how great is our god you got five more seconds to give great praise to a great god come on help me verse 12 verse 27 he gives great praise to great god his adulation with these rhetorical questions and then he even says you know what your god is so great so amazing that the the governmental officials better be careful verse 23 says he brings princess to naught those who oppress and offend his people he brings them down if your eyes weren't open at the end of the year 2020 you missed god being god we had to deal with four demonic years and god decided we wouldn't have to go through that anymore and so he brought princess to naught and somebody better go to the border and tell them folks to quit messing with them haitian people because god's people are not to be toyed with are not to be abused and misused somebody better tell somebody don't mess with god's people because god keeps his people in protective custody careful how you treat god's people he brings princess to naught he shuts down governments that do no good for the masses of the people and god shows it and god by the time you get to the end of this section pastor sean he says i hear you isaiah thank you for speaking on my behalf but i can talk for myself he basically starts talking to these people like he talked to job where were you when i did all this in creation where were you who who who did i consult who's my advisor i'm god i don't need anybody's help i do what i do and i do it well anybody know your god is a great god anybody know your god is an awesome god anybody know your god is strong and mighty anybody still believe in giving great praise to a great god i'm moving on now but i need 10 or 12 more people right up in here to just help me celebrate god for being god not because he gave you some more money not because he gave you a new house not because you got some new carter right in i need you to celebrate god because god is god be still i know that i am god i will be exalted in all the earth well it's the word about our great creator isaiah has given a word of guaranteed comfort but can i shut the little message down when i tell you that by the time he gets around verse 28 he shares more questions with them and these are the questions with which you're quite familiar hast thou not known hast thou not heard that the lord the everlasting god the creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not neither is he weary there is no searching of his understanding he giveth power to the faint unto them that have no might he increaseth strength even the you shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but they that way lord have mercy upon the lord shall renew their strength they'll mount up with wings as eagles they'll run and not be weary they'll walk and not faint i'm in a room now with a whole bunch of churchy people and i thank god for that because churchy people when they hear those verses they don't need a whole bunch of commentary they just start moving in their seats i've been watching you they just start shaking their head nodding and patting their feet because churchy people understand some things about how god operates isaiah says haven't you heard don't you know of the lord the everlasting god the creator created of the ends of the earth faith is not neither is he weary there is no searching of his understanding uh he giveth power to the faint he and to those who have no might he increases strength even the you shall faint and be weary young folk shall utterly fall but they that wait this my friend is what i call a word of genuine country distinction um yeah gen word of genuine country is a bigot five dollar word it just means he's comparing and contrasting he's just making a line of delineation a distinction between humanity and divinity he said if you didn't know it by the time i got to verse 28 you will know it by the time i get to verse 31 that that you need to understand that the god you serve is not like any human being walking around here the gods you serve is not like those of us who get weary weak and warm the god you serve is not like those of us who get exhausted and exasperated and expended of our energy jained and depleted the divine never has to worry like we worry frust be frustrated like we're frustrated he does not sleep and he does not slumber and the bible helps us to understand this country distinction uh this is here it is don't you know haven't you heard of the lord the everlasting god the creator of the ends of the earth he won't make sure you know exactly who he's talking about creator of the ends of the earth faintest not neither is weary he does not faint he does not grow weary you remember earlier in the verses he's talking about humanity we like grass we're fledgling we're faltering we're failing but that is not how our god is he does not faint he does not grow weary he does not get tired of being god he does not grow weary of doing what god does god is the forever faithful ever-present ever-ready god who does for us what we cannot do for ourselves there is no searching of his understanding you you can't even comprehend this god his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts but god's ways and thoughts are higher as high as the heaven is above the earth so are god's ways and thoughts about our ways and thoughts and so there's no searching of his understanding but here is what he does he gives power to the faint yeah those of us who are getting tired of doing this this thing we've been having to do since this quarantine started he gives power to the faint that's why you all don't look like what you've been through cause he gives power to the faint that's why you don't have to act like you're not gonna make it and you're not gonna be able to take it he gives power to the faint and to those who have no might he increases strength i wonder if i'm talking to anybody in church tonight who can look back over your life and find those moments in your journey where you thought you were not going to make it where you thought you couldn't take it any farther i need somebody who'll be honest tonight and begin to testify there have been some seasons where i thought i was going down for the count there have been some seasons where i felt felt like i was never going to make it back oh but i'm in church tonight whether physically or virtually to testify he gives power to the faith and to those who have no might he increases strength i need somebody who is ready to walk out throw in the towel give up and say i'm not going back anymore to testify that somewhere along the journey he began to revive you he began to rejuvenate you he began to re-energize you and the reason you came in with your hands up tonight is because you serve a god who restores yes lord and i'm so grateful on this tuesday night that we serve a god of restoration he will restore the years that the palmer worm and the cake of worm and the locusts have destroyed somebody needs to testify there were some seasons you thought you lost in life you thought you weren't going gonna be able to rebound and recover but tonight you're a living breathing testimony that he'll restore the years somebody can testify he'll restore your joy somebody can testify he'll restore your peace i need somebody to testify he'll restore everything that the enemy has stolen from you oh tonight brothers and sisters you don't have to worry like other folk worry if you're god's person if you're god's child if you're a part of the family of the faithful i need you to know he still gives power to the as a matter of fact while i'm preaching somebody's getting your strength back while i'm preaching somebody's getting your joy back while i'm preaching i hear somebody saying put me in coach put me in i feel like going a little farther is there anybody who will help me close this message and begin to testify he will restore and this is not just for old folk you think sometimes it's just old folk having problems having bad days even the you shall faint and be weary young folk shall utterly fall don't you fool yourself that's why your pastor had to take some time off because sometimes even the young folk feel like they're going down don't you dismiss these children and youth in the lord's church because sometimes they're going through some of the most depressing and dehumanizing circumstances in school and at home and they need to know when they get here that god does not just take care of old folk and middle-aged folk but god takes care of young folk and he will do for you what nobody else can do i think i'm ready man he gives power to the faith then we'll have no mighty increase of strength even young men young women youth shall faint be weary young folk utterly fall here it is but i told you it's a word of genuine country distinction he's comparing some stuff but they that way yes lord upon the lord shall renew their strength i got to close i said they that weight upon upon the lord shall renew their strength yes that he flat i like that there it is i said they that weight upon the lord shall renew their strength they will mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not get weary and they shall walk and not faint he's literally saying that no matter how bad it has been in your situation no matter how beleaguered you may think you are right now the god we serve is not like the rest of us who can't help some of us when we're going through the worst of what we're going through your god still restores and renews as a matter of fact no matter what season of life you find yourself in he's able to give you enough strength to keep on going i said no matter what season of life you find yourself in your god is still able to give you strength to keep on going trying to tell me the third time is the charm i said no matter what season of life you're in god gives you strength to keep on going if you're in the youthful years of your life you'll let your mount up with wings as eagles you're in the middle age years of your life he'll let you run and not get weary and if you're in the senior years of your life he'll let you walk and not faint it doesn't matter what season you're in if you can't run like you used to run just walk it out shy if you can't soar like them all or young folk can just run to the best of your ability but however it grows whenever it goes down you just need to know you're not doing it in your own strength you've got a god who's on your side and i need somebody to help me close the message now and begin to celebrate the fact that no matter how rough it gets no matter how tough it gets no matter how ugly the scene no matter how demoralizing the situation i've got a god who knows how to show up in the midst of my circumstance and give me strength to keep on going i came to try to be a blessing to you i know you've had some ups and downs while you're trying to serve the lord's people right here at the fellowship church and i came to let you know that no matter how ugly the pandemic was to you the god we serve has greater that's coming a little bit later he's going to strengthen you from post-pandemic pestering he's gonna strengthen you to give some post pandemic preaching he's gonna strengthen you and let you know that trouble don't last always is there anybody in church tonight who can thank god with me that trouble don't last always i told you in last year we found out that trump didn't last always and somebody ought to shout that neither trouble nor trump would last always even if he tries to come back we gonna rise up like the people of god we know we're supposed to be and make sure that justice reigns and runs down like waters and righteousness like an ever flowing stream so i feel like lifting up the god of our salvation because every time i turn around he keeps showing me that he can give me strength even when i feel like falling down i need i need i need i need i need somebody to help me close this message and begin to testify if it had not been for the lord who was on your side you don't know where you would be but since you're in church whether physically or virtually you have the responsibility to open up your mouth lift up your hands and tell your god thank you that he still gives you strength when you feel like going under when you feel like going down when you feel like falling away i feel like lifting him up giving god some glory that every time i look back over my life i recognize that when i couldn't help myself i had a god who was able to do what nobody else is able to do i'm going to my sheet now but can i get 12 people to help me shout one more time under him who is able to keep you from falling and present you faultless before his presence with exceeding great joy to the only wise god our savior be glory majesty dominion and power now and forevermore i just gave you five good reasons to clap your blessed hands and some of y'all didn't say one word didn't move one bit i said now under him who is able to keep you from falling and presents you faultless before his presence make this next season to give you greater glory than the 70 years before thank you jesus i used to come down here sharp every every sunday night i came down here when i was in high school every earth sunday night i came down here at nine o'clock for the what a fellowship hour i saw those wonderful years pastor clay evans was at the helm of the ship came down here every night friends of us would pack out the the the pew where we sat just to celebrate with with the saints of god here i saw it then i saw the shift pastor jenkins showed up he gave a new twist to the same theology ah but now yes yes yes but now as the legacy continues i i see great things coming as a matter of fact the bible says eyes have not seen yes no yes no and uh ears have not heard oh it hasn't even entered into your heart the thing that god has prepared for those who love this god of ours i need to pour the house ship do you love him do you love your god do you love god well open up your eyes don't cry now don't don't get distressed and discouraged now be not weary in well doing in due season you shall reap if you faint not i said it i meant it before i take it back i'll add more to it the gods you serve you for your word and we thank you that we're safe in your arms thank you that we don't have to guess about tomorrow you already have us covered god we come interceding tonight for somebody who's absolutely exhausted we come ex interceding tonight for family and friends we're in a rough season and things are just heavy in this one thing after another they make two steps forward and then they get pulled back seven steps god i pray that you would give them strength because we're safe in your arms i thank you that because we're safe we can keep going you're going to give us the strength that we need you're going to give us the fortitude that we need you're going to give us the focus that we need you're going to give us the clarity that we need god you're gonna give us the peace that we need so we thank you lord that right now in the name of jesus you're sending strength and power to somebody's house tonight you're sending strength and power to some hospital room tonight you're sending strength and power to some seasoned saint and some youth some child god send your strength tonight and remind us that everything's all right lord thank you for sending dr marcus cosby our way to bless us tonight restore his energy his spirit and give him what he needs to keep on going and god touched the ship tonight keep us unified on one according god if somebody doesn't know jesus we want them to give god a yes tonight so that they can have the strength the power the clarity and the joy that they need for the road of head we seal this prayer by faith and all of god's people say it
