good morning everybody uh today is gonna be an interesting day the news apparently ctv is on their way out here uh they contacted sask milk and they wanted to get on a dairy farm kind of show what happens on the dairy farm film a little bit of the milking so we got an email like two weeks ago or something asking if they could stop by in the morning sometime and check out milking so we said yeah sure sounds like a good idea and uh so they should be on their way out right now i think and now they'll be here shortly so we'll see how that goes i think i need to get a bigger camera get on this guy's level that's pretty impressive wow that is so cool and already uh she's back on her legs and ready to walk and obviously very hungry so nelly how do you well you feed just trust god are the days where you're sitting at a bucket and kind of going like that right now how does this work um it's always ctv news out here this morning it's pretty cool um they're kind of just for saskatchewan the morning show out here and ctv is a canadian news network it's not like fox or cnn we have ctv up here so um that's pretty cool i believe they probably contacted sask milk and then sas milk gave them our contact to come out here it's not because the youtube channel they were out here they just want to get onto a dairy farm and kind of show what happens inside a dairy farm which is awesome any chance sweet dairy farmers get to kind of show how things happen on our farms we're willing to do it so i believe that's going to be on a morning show next week sometime and i'll let you guys know if you guys can see it anywhere on the internet but i think there's some gravel trucks that are coming out here we hopefully tomorrow are going to do some dirt work and really start to level around we've been moving a lot of dirt around the farm but we're hopefully going to start getting it good tomorrow and skid steer is going to come out here and like a professional dirt worker he's going to do some leveling around here so we got some gravel trucks coming out here and we gotta unload those so those are two semis of crushed concrete from saskatoon it's just kind of recycled concrete stuff's really good for filling areas in we're gonna get one more load out in front of the barn here level out in front here make it look nice we ordered a total of six trucks of this crushed concrete to come this morning and i'm just getting the one to follow me i don't know if you guys can see him following me in the back there just gonna point out where we want it we want three out front there and then three in the back just behind the cow barns so that's four of six right so we got those six loads of crushed concrete brought out to the yard they're all unloaded now um if you guys remember over the course of summer i've been dumping dirt here i'm gonna try and kind of smooth it all out now because the skid steer that's coming out tomorrow uh we're gonna try and save some time hopefully if i go over this and push it all flat with the wheel loader to the best that i can that'll save some time on the skid steer if i do that [Music] oh we got it leveled a little bit at least all the ridges are done and this is definitely going to save that skid steer some time tomorrow morning when he shows up and um yeah that's all we were trying to do here just took a little break from moving the dirt around there we just had three more calves this afternoon so two cows one heifer the heifer capped on our straw pack over here and she decided to try to jump this water bowl right here she jammed it up pretty good that post right there is supposed to keep the water bowl straight up and down but it's jammed in the concrete there me and my dad tried stomping it at the same time on the top water bowl didn't even budge so we got a crowbar and a sludge hammer and we're gonna try to straighten this water bowl up here sometimes heifers are a little bit crazy just part of the job well there wasn't a whole lot to that i tried using the crowbar first i kind of wanted to save on the water bowl obviously hitting stuff with sludge hammers probably going to end up breaking something we did kind of smash the top of this in a little bit but oh well it's the next day and the skid steer and the skid steer operator showed up today so he's around the front of the barn here just kind of going to the greater attachment in front of his bobcat there and leveling stuff around so we're going to check that out and uh i might go and talk to him see if he needs any dirt or any crushed gravel or anything like that moved around for him because if he's got to spend time moving around with his bobcat where if i could do it with the loader we could probably save him some time so so basically right now he's just scraping it up kind of moving some gravel to where there's pits just trying to make sure there's never going to be any puddles around here [Music] so this is all sand right beside the barn he's retouched this up as well and then hopefully we can take some of this gravel that's over here and just give everything a nice layer before winter just over there is where i'm always piling that dirt there i've been doing that quite a bit this summer that pile is right there i did level it out quite a bit yesterday but uh it's probably gonna be something for next year there's not really a lot of time to level all that dirt out hopefully we can get around the barns in and around here looking nice [Music] [Applause] so all right so we hopped back in the wheel loader now and he's basically been leveling dirt in front of our calf barn and the old bulk tank room here and he's leveled all the dirt underneath now he just wants a few loads of gravel which i'm dropping off right now [Music] [Music] four buckets we just put there should be plenty for him well guys i thought i was done hauling solid manure for the year but we just took this little calf room out here took all the calves put them over into the renault barn back there and uh we're gonna have to haul all of the bedding out of here so we kind of figured you know what the manure wagon still hooked up to the tractor over there so just throw it from the skid steer into the wheel loader and then into the manure wagon right there save a little bit of time don't have to handle it twice so that's what we're doing this morning [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Laughter] awesome well we got that calf room completely cleaned out just got to brim it out by hand and then we can pressure wash it and yesterday this is what the skid steer guy did made it look all super nice right up to the concrete this is awesome comes all the way around this part of the barn isn't really used for much it's just kind of storage this is where the milk tank used to be in but it's nice to have it looking all neat and then in front of the barn he got all of the crushed concrete spread all over completely covered the dirt and it is super level the water's gonna flow off of this real nice covered up all the dirt that was here and he even left us a little bit of extra crushed concrete which is always awesome stuff's expensive so if you can save on it a little that's great but yeah this is awesome apparently you got to watch out for wires in this crushed concrete he was also telling me that it is recycled concrete so there's a ton of metal that would be in there the rebar maybe some wire stuff that can puncture tires so apparently if you get a magnet that you can pull over it by hand that really helps so we might have to do that and then yeah we didn't touch anything over there unfortunately but that's the way she goes if you guys have made it to the end of the video comment down below neat yard because that's what we've been trying to do all summer we're getting there and i guess it's gonna be something for next spring again and um thanks for watching today's video guys if you enjoyed be sure to hit those like and
