The New Megamind Movie Ruined My Life

so it finally happened they released more make a mind content a sicken movie along with a series and it sucks it fing sucks I forgot they want me dead I need to start this video off with telling you a little bit about myself when Mega M came out in 2010 I must have been like 11 years old I think and it became my favorite movie I used to watch Mega M every single day and I'm not over exaggerating I am being serious I watched it every day for a while maybe like a year I watched it every day which would happen to me whenever I liked the movie I just watch it constantly but Mega M was always my favorite and it really hasn't changed I'm almost 23 now and I watch it multiple times a year I didn't know that was weird by the way until like I I started telling people that I would watch it every day I believe it was 2022 when DreamWorks like officially announced that there was more Mega M coming but we didn't know much about it I think we just heard that there was a movie and a series coming but that's all we knew so at the time that was so exciting cuz me and M felt like one of those movies that was just kind of forgotten by most people but I think when people who watched that movie as a kid grew up they kind of realize that it's still a really good movie and you kind of kind of hits different when you're an adult cuz you realize like this is actually a good movie it's not just something I like when I was a kid like this is actually really good you know what I mean when Mig M came out it was around similar time when the first how the trainer Dragon movie came out and the first Despicable Me movie came out so it kind of got overshadowed and forgotten about by most people not by me mega mine is an incredible movie and I highly recommend you watch it before watching this video cuz I'm mostly going to be talking about the new one um but the first movie is excellent that's all you need to watch on let's just start with that you don't need to watch the new ones just watch just watch the first original movie okay trust me I think Mega M was like before its time it's a very well it's funny it always makes me laugh and it has a really good story to it and it's got a lot of like kind of deeper like themes to it you know so I'm obviously going to be spoiling the movie in this video as well as spoiling the new movie um not that there's much to spoil in the new movie but still I will be spoiling things so if you want to watch that first then then do as far as we knew from the first movie mine was the only alien-like creature on earth as well as metroman being the only superhero likee guy and the first movie is really about Mega mind figuring out what his Destiny is thinking he was destined to be a villain but realizing that's not what he actually wants and he ends up falling in love with a human along the way and it was only recently when we got the trailer of the new movie and series and I was really confused as soon as I saw it because I noticed in the trailer they were using a lot of scenes that were just from the first movie which I feel like is always pretty suspicious and after I finished watching the trailer I thought okay so that's the trailer for the show and then I realized no it's actually the trailer for the movie and I knew knew I knew what was going to happen I knew it was going to be bad it was immediately obvious that there was a lower budget for this new movie in series see the first movie came out in 2010 but the animation is really good and has aged super well it still looks great in my opinion so seeing a huge downgrade and we're in 2024 now is uh kind of a big surprise I do understand like when they make shows from a a movie like DreamWorks has done with like Kung Fu Panda and other things like that boss baby I think I've never watched boss baby when they make shows the animation is always a lot lower quality which I do expect but realizing that this was also the movie trailer I I was I was really confused cuz I thought they were actually going to come out with you know an actual movie but they meant just a movie streaming on a streaming service that is basically like a long episode of the show which is pretty different than a movie to me and I think when they said Mega m is coming back we were expecting oh my God they're going to make another Mega m movie this is going to be sick they also keeps calling it Mega m 2 like on the trailers say mega m 2 which I feel like they shouldn't have done because it's really not Mega m 2 because it doesn't feel like they're in the same universe like at all when I did hear that I it did sound a bit too good to be true you know but at the same time I was kind of excited because DreamWorks has been doing some cool things lately I love the DreamWorks trolls movies I think they're great beautifully animated uh they made the new Puss and Boots movie that was great and bad guys was good too then they came out with that terrible bad guys Christmas special which looked awful you know I had a bit of Hope there but it did feel a bit too good to be true and it it was too good to be true and watching the trailer too like all the scenes that they showed were just people like standing there and uh the movie is pretty much the same thing it's just people standing there and talking the whole time like that's kind of it I'm going to try and put some clips in this video from the movie but I don't know if I can I might get copyright strike so I don't know if I can do that I might just have to use clips from the trailer and just use a small amount of clips from the actual movie but I got to be kind of careful about that but I'm going to try uh but yeah I unfortunately I can't put too much uh in this video otherwise it will get taken down movie and the series came out on the same day it was just this week I did not realize it was coming out so soon and it was exclusively streamed on a streaming platform called peacock which I had never heard of before I don't know what peacock is it doesn't work in my country I live in New Zealand and I think peacock only works in like the US I assume because it doesn't work here so yeah if you don't live in a country that peacock Works in then you can't watch it um so I had to watch it somewhere else don't tell anyone but I feel like that's already a red flag it's streaming on the streaming service that like doesn't exist in a lot of countries peacock what the hell is peacock like not even Netflix a lot of Dream works movies go on Netflix so I'm like kind of confused by that anyway so I was really debating for a while if I actually wanted to watch the movie because I saw clips of it I saw like people tweeting about it and everyone seemed to hate it uh so I was like should I like not watch this is this going to ruin mega mind for me but I thought I have to watch this like my childhood self has been waiting for this moment for so long do it for her I'm also someone who like doesn't hate things just because they're new I really try to find like the good in any kind of of show like this I really tried to find anything good about this movie and show but uh I didn't really find much I thought maybe it would make a good video coming from a diard meind fan which might be embarrassing to admit and I didn't even really write a script I just wrote notes for what I wanted to talk about because this movie is not worth me writing a whole script about let's be honest so I'm sorry if I'm a little bit all over the place but I need to talk about this movie okay to make it worth my time so I watched the movie I tried to pay like full attention to it I even watched some bits multiple times just to see like did that actually happen am I is this a real movie so first of all like the obvious thing they did is they changed the voice actors for like all the characters which we knew from the trailer I understand like if they're going for a lower budget thing they can't get all the voice actors back but I do feel like the voices in the first movie did add a lot to the characters will Ferell is a voice of meind and I just feel like it suits him so well and he puts a lot of energy into that character and same thing with minion as well and roxan they're all great and the voice actors they got like they're fine but I just feel like it's so obviously different and they just don't have that same energy to the characters water in the hole and like maybe if they couldn't get the same voice actors maybe they just shouldn't have done it in the first place voice actor who does mega M's voice you know you can tell he's definitely trying to sound like wolf feral but it doesn't sound like wolf feral and I think Minion's voice might be the the worst one cuz sometimes it sounds like you know Minion's voice from the first movie but usually it doesn't it it's yeah oh yeah minion's name changed so instead of being called minion his name is now old chum or just Chum they call him Chum in the movie they say the reason for his name change is because legal issues with a company called Minions Med po what minions me popsicles I already forgot I literally just watched this and I already forgot what it was due to a ceasing toist order from popular fast food chain Mr minions meatles I can no longer call myself minion so Megamind gave me a new name old jum I'm assuming the real reason for the name change is because of the Minions movies they didn't want to have like two things called minion you know what I mean which I do understand I just feel like maybe they should have said like his name is not minion anymore because we're good guys and he's not really a minion anymore I don't mind the name Chum but I don't I don't know it's kind of a odd change basically the whole movie nothing really happens the movie kind of feels like a very stretched out episode and I kind of just wish they made the movie into just like two episodes instead of a an hour and 20 minute movie because it just felt so long and boring it honestly feels like they planned to make this series and they already had these episodes ready and then they thought we would probably actually make more money if we just said that this was a new movie so they just put some episodes together into a movie length film and and dragged out the episodes you know I think honestly I would be less annoyed if it was just a series from the start even if it was still sh like it just feels like even more of a cash grab when they're like it's a new movie guys and it's like it's really not and nothing really happens I feel like most of the time they're just standing there talking in some kind of empty area like the city's empty the laboratory is so boring it looks like 90% of the population of metro City died like where is everyone one the city was so full and and Lively and now it's just like a couple of people everyone died after M became a hero and the start of the movie me M's just like being really mean to minion I don't know he just kind of felt like he was just being rude for like no reason this movie by the way is meant to take place a few days after the first movie which just kind of makes it a bit weird like why is he being so mean to him all of a sudden you know like they've always had a brotherly like best friend kind of relationship in the first movie but also you know Meg and M's always kind of got a bit of an ego but minion doesn't really notice that or he just doesn't really care and they always are kind of joking around with each other but in this one Mega M's just kind of an minion asks him if he should leave and may M's like yeah you should leave I don't know it was just weird way to start the movie and also like the thing in this movie was that minion wanted to be Mega mine's sidekick isn't that what he already was I'm really confused by this like that was his thing I want to be Mega M's sidekick instead of his whatever he was I'm confused by this like I thought that he already was his sidekick the jokes in this movie are extremely unfunny there was like one or two that I like exhaled at you know I went like at um but most of them weren't funny at all rockan and mega M they are a thing right like they were like in love in the first movie and it was beautiful that scene where she looked back make makes me cry like every time I absolutely loved their relationship they're kind of enemies to love this thing it was beautiful but then in this movie they're kind of like it's a little bit confusing they even say at one point that it's complicated what does that mean I thought you guys loved each other but obviously there is some romantic tension between you two no it's complicated I was looking forward to seeing a human alien baby hybrid born from you two where is it actually that's it it's right there that's why I put that there in the video that's their baby me has a new layer and it looks like what the hell is this what happened to his DIY Observatory thing he had on the roof that he made himself that was so funny and it had so much character in the building now he has this big old you know Factory it looks boring and empty and I hate it I hate it it doesn't look like this is being lived in at all so the whole thing in this movie is that there is a group called The Doom Syndicate which is a group of villains that Mega mine used to be a part of and he started the group in villain school villain school what the are you talking about I was cutting my evil teeth shortly after graduating from villain sh you went to a villain Sho I mean School the whole point of migam mine is that he grew up being the old one out I mean he's a blue freaking alien no one else is like him and because of the way he looked everyone judged him they mistreated him they assumed he was a bad kid he always got in trouble for just trying to fit in with all the other kids to the point where he realized that everyone's only ever going to see him as the bad kid so just embrace it and he became a full-on villain because that's what he thought he had to be that's how he thought everyone would always see him because of his appearance and also he grew up in a prison like his ship landed in a prison and he was raised by prisoners villain school what the hell is villain School that is not a thing in this universe and it shouldn't be a thing in this universe it doesn't make any sense you know I I like that in the meind universe in the first movie anyway it was just Mega mine and metroman that were like you know they had superheroes they were different and everyone else was just normal people I do understand that if they were going to make a sequel and stuff they would bring in more you know characters like that that are Supernatural and stuff but I don't understand why they made it that they're actually his old friends that he went to to villain school with and he was a leader of the group shut up doesn't make any sense another thing we need to discuss is this shot 4,987 but who's counting who animated this we need to talk so most the plot of the movie is that his old gang comes back they think that he's pretending to be good and that he's actually still a villain so he is pretending he is still a villain even though he's not and then while that's happening he's pretending to be a villain whatever minions working at a diner for some reason and there's a whole plot with him fixing up this Diner who cares one thing that happened multiple times is that roxan and mega mine would like she would be like just one second and then she would grab him and talk to him like away from the the villain group like trying to figure out what to do and they would just be like doing it right in front of them this happened several times where they were just like talking right in front of them and like I don't know it just pissed me off like why do they keep doing that and then the villains all they would freaking do is argue with each other about who's the leader that happened so many times it was that's the whole movie it's just talking talking boring talking who cares these villains are so boring I don't care about them n mine's kind of dumb and weak in this movie I mean he's kind of always meant to be you know a bit dumb but like in like a silly goofy way you know what I mean but he's still like smart you know I mean he defeats Titan and he also created Titan like he's an evil genius that's his thing he's an inventor but he's none of that in this but in this movie he's just kind of dumb like he can't really do anything he uses his dehydration gun and that's basically it he doesn't have any other cool weapons even though they have this big facility thing he doesn't have any cool weapons that he made he does have a special chair that turns into a rocket I thought that was kind of cool that's very mega mind he would definitely do that also there's this kid in this movie Kiko is that her name I actually liked her I thought she was pretty cool she's just a super fan of of mega mind and then we find out the reason why she's such a fan of him is because she kind of went through the same thing he did she mentioned that everyone assumed she was a bad kid and teased her because of the way she dresses and talked and was an outsider so she thought that she kind of had to be a bad kid cuz that's what people thought she was just like how mamine was when he was a kid and when she saw mamine become a hero that really inspired her to become you know herself which I thought was really cute and sweet and I think it's kind of fun for roxan and Megamind to have like a daughter like character I mean I was hoping that's kind of what they were going for I don't know if that's actually what they were going for but that's a cute concept if that is what they're going for but there are some scenes like in the series too where this kid is kind of annoying because she's meant to be like a you know internet Savvy girl that records everything and that's always a very boring Trope to me that they have in like a lot of current cartoons also can we talk about how this uh new movie in series is supposed to take place a few days after the first movie yet they have like proper cell phones now in the first movie they had like flip phones cuz that's when it was was made it was made like 14 years ago also they have all this like technology in their facility to avoid people breaking in that Minions going through but they don't have any technology to actually like or weapons to actually like defeat them also why do the brain Bots not know who minion is this movie goes on for a long time and it's just the same thing honestly talking standing nothing very interesting I think they spent their whole Budget on that dance scene which was just kind of cringe DJ put another stanky Groove in my don't be a poopy but eventually Meg mine does finally beat the Doom Syndicate in a very boring way it was building up to him to finally defeat them and then he just did it in like a few minutes and it was pretty lame he pours concrete on the mime he makes the Wither girl electrocute herself the lav guy gets hit by a fire truck by roxan which was actually pretty funny and The Dark Knight guy gets murdered by a child flash [Music] grenade so yeah pretty anticlimactic I think they were just trying to do it and simple ways they didn't have to animate too much because of the low budget which sucks because the mega mind and Titan fight at the end of the first movie was so good and mega makes it very clear that presentation is a huge thing for him in the first movie he see that a lot and he really cares about his appearance and and and making a good you know entrance to things but it's nowhere to be seen in this movie kind of embarrassing like to compare this animation in 2024 to the 2010 animation that is like a 100 times better I feel like they just shouldn't have release this at all I think I prefer nothing happened oh yeah the only weapons they end up using this movie was like a tennis ball gun so yeah and for some reason that works by the way at the end of the movie The only thing interesting that actually does happen is that rockan becomes mayor of Metro city which I thought was actually pretty cool I feel like that does suit her quite well but literally nothing else changes I mean the little girl becomes part of their like group I guess but that's kind of it so yeah um watching this 1 hour and 20 minute movie felt like I was watching a 3-hour movie movie honestly it was hard to like pay attention because it was so boring and I'm probably going to forget what happened like in a few days that's why I filmed this video right after watching it and then I thought you know I got to watch some of the series as well mega mind rules came out the same day as the movie I think I watched the first episode and half of the second episode the first episode was an episode about mega mind trying to make a viral YouTube video and make memes I wish I was joking that was the episode also the villains the Doom Syndicate broke out of prison already they're back yeah so this episode was really hard to watch um because it was just mega mind trying to be trendy which I know they were purposely trying to make it cringe but I feel like that's just even more cringe when they try to purposely make things cringe you know second episode was about the donut guy so I just stopped watching halfway through cuz it was so boring I thing just feels so lifeless like nothing happens all the the backgrounds and the areas that they're in are just so boring the city city is like always empty it just looks like a void feels like this was made on like that Gmod city map I will probably still keep trying to watch the series cuz there's like eight episodes and I want to see if something happened oh I forgot this is s all over the place I'm sorry I forgot at the end of the movie they do this little reveal before the credits where this new villain comes out and I guess frees the other villains and he says he can defeat mamine because he taught mamine everything he knows cuz I Mark your villain and the Evil Genius who taught mega mind everything he knows did did they watch the first movie before making this no the you didn't the people who taught Mega Man everything he knows was the prisoners and I just don't get it the reason why Mega mine is so like kind of weird and awkward is because he didn't have any friends when he was growing up part from Minion I think they're kind of making it so this new villain guy is going to be the probably the guy he fights at the end of the series I don't know I don't know if I'm going to watch the rest of the series because just watching that one and a half episode was painful it's so boring and bad and I just I can't probably going to s force myself but I don't have any motivation to do it because it's just so bad so that's my review I would suggest you don't watch the movie especially if you're a bigger Mega M fan you're probably just going to be disappointed I mean there are definitely like a couple things I liked from the movie one two things I liked like just when Mega Man rockan were being cute together and the little girl was cute as well but that's literally it like everything with the Doom Syndicate was just so boring even minion is just kind of a boring character in all of these you're better off just watching the first movie again so yeah I'm disappointed um hopefully one day we'll get an actual Mega m movie again because I don't think this counts and uh yeah I'd love to hear you guys thoughts on it as well if you are a fan of Me Mine and you watch the movie um otherwise
