alright guys we are very excited today because we are here with Andy Anderson I'm just about to come out with this board with powell-peralta I've put a lot of time and effort into designing this thing and first ever boy yeah this is my first ever how old are you 22 he's 22 years old and you're from from Vancouver Canada Wow so I'm 35 and I went to school in Vancouver British Columbia really yeah what I went to UBC OH I was there for a year in the 2002 where were you oh my gosh 2002 2002 2003 I was 6 years old skating I'm skating for two years at that point yeah it makes me wonder if I saw you somewhere oh my gosh like when I first went to Vancouver it was like chris haslam was like just being found out about and he was doing like kickflip back lip kickflip out yeah crazy so Vancouver I love Vancouver this board is like the craziest thing I've ever seen like in a good way yeah that means a lot coming from you guys it really is though I mean look at like this like right here because these are the flight boards they're made with 5pi five plies five plies of wood and they're a lot stronger than a regular board just cuz the way that wood is laid by a lot stronger he means like literally I tried to focus it oh wow I've tried to focus them they down so the numbers mean that it is the most technologically advanced skateboard in the planet pretty much pretty much and every board has different numbers on it that's the weird way yeah okay so you designed the shape when I was a kid I was just riding regular boards and then something switched in my head and I was like I'm gonna ride all these old-school boards with pointed noses and ten inch wide and like super long skateboards 15 I started to really experiment okay with all these different kinds of boards and I found benefits in some shapes and lack of benefits and others yeah and it all kind of narrowed down into this shape Wow as you said it's got this bump right here what is this for so this is actually the same width as this really yeah so it's cut kind of cuts down on a V and the reason for that is so you can still do Primos oh I got it you know it makes sense yeah and then right here this curve right there and this curve are your primo nose and tail I would have never ever ever thought about that so for those of you who don't know what primo means it's when but the board is like that on its side so standing there like that and then you can do primo flips that way and the tails a bit mellower so it'll flip slightly different from the nose so that explains that part what about this so I love square tails personally I just love them because it enables me to do tail blocks just kind of like a five-o when your trucks floating in the air jam it right there and then you can come back in Wow but the problem with square tails is usually can't pressure flip them they're kind of difficult to tre flip oh yeah so that's why there's this wing right here so if you draw a line from where your wheel is down to this corner everything on that other side is gonna pressure flip all this goop you need that you'd find in a regular tail yeah with the benefit of your square tail Wow science kids make sure that you learn math this blunt nose is because don't want the whole thing to be square when you're when you're doing truck stance kind of sit a bit on an angle like that yeah it provides that good standing structure for pogos on flat as well as feeding into the primo tail Wow now to go on further the nose and tail are the same length normal boards have a bigger nose and a smaller tail but on this board they're the same length and the tail is actually bigger because of its squareness yeah but because of this v-cut the balance points right in the center so like there's just as much weight on the nose as there is in the tail yeah Wow even though the tail is visually bigger yeah they weigh the same what that's for is when are you doing street tricks like tre flips Impossibles kick flips it's gonna feel generally like a normal board whether you're skating it forwards or backwards wow the shape itself it's for freestyle this size because it is a 9 inch board with a 15 inch wheelbase like larger than usual yeah is for comfort and bull so size for bowl-shaped for freestyle balanced for Street point yeah did I forgot to mention which was an afterthought really was these bumps right here yeah you look at it this way they kind of stick up because the way the concave works yeah so when we're doing dark slides it acts as a barrier to hold your board oh wow under your dark slide because as soon as you get a dark slide onto your tail you're scratching off all your grip tape yeah but if you're on the edges here then it just touches the sides you grip tapes fine so if you can just lock it right there that's your ideal pop-out spot Wow that's like the most incredible thing I've ever heard how many years have you put into this design about eight years eight years that's yeah that's really awesome research and development out in the streets for real dude just to get this cut the same width is that cut is like insanely difficult for your seams finally have something I've been thinking about and calculating myself to be in reality and available for other people to try and give me feedback on and so when is this available it's gonna be out in spring are you driving this is the video part I'm trying I understand yeah I do it's rough okay I'm sure you're gonna I'm sure you're gonna do it last thing I want to say before is this is my size it's 9 inches 15 wheelbase yeah but I'm also dropping the same shape and a more regular board size it'll be eight point four but it's lighter because of the shape and then 14 to 5 wheelbase so regular wheelbase and you guys can try that that's right here yeah I saw this one yeah try that give it a shot and see what happens all right let's roll this all right hashtag notification squad you know what to do leave it in the comments below hashtag notification squad and leave your best comment we will choose one of you guys and you will win this board this board is not even released yet and you're going to be the first person out there to have it boom right there oh I need that photo for my grand dude wait I want to learn do that thing with the one foot the Flamingo we've got to make a video with that how to flamingo the classic end over I've been skateboarding for 25 years and I have no idea what language he is speaking and over in jaywalks when you take you back oh you can do that yeah I want to learn [Applause] [Applause] hmm oh dude jaywalk you need to do that manual in your video part good is that it's a three-wheeled manual it's like it's with the one ball okay okay and you have to be like fully tense with your body to keep the flow going three wheels up or three wheels down three wheels down I can't do that so hard I need more like my angle dude Wow it feels like I'm just gonna break every bone in my neck won't be the first time that's happened here oh man I got so I got so confident and I was like I got this and then everything around the window it's all above freezing your upper body [Applause] [Music] [Applause] what hi this is the real test though you ready can you first try does anybody do like a backwards endo oh yeah for sure okay especially a backwards jaywalks that's like Kevin Harris special hands my glutes are activating man oh you take it off like that you learn something new every day kids go out there and get it those flamingos and they're fun if you invent anything for yourself and you haven't seen anyone else do it that's like okay so you do a pressure flip and then I'll follow you and do one and then you dip follow me and do what okay that wing yeah I don't know how to use the wing so like that okay go ahead I'll watch you work Manny get out of here yeah yours is the highest one thank you I cannot impossible it is impossible what's up what's next front foot impossible yeah okay that up you kind of kick it like a varial heel but before you totally release you bring your foot back underneath you like trying to varial heel but then you bring your foot back underneath yeah I was like French chef I got you and then varial hill and I was like can't do that so crazy the hardest trick in skateboarding first joy show you what I'm doing then i'll explain it after you know if there's one thing I can do its manual okay so use your back foot oh yeah wow that's like hard but not wait let me get a good one let me get a good one Carlos stealing all my thunder one more one more then in that car let's go hand oh good night the new world just straight up like in the middle of a street line for our video part you got it my toes oh are you okay do it alright guys can you show Aaron the real thing you just you just skate anything you want do whatever you want and we're just going to observe I got freestyle tricks and rail tricks for you guys that I'd really like to share please [Applause] [Applause] you're right in the corner that was crazy okay let's do some freestyle mics spin variations alright starving [Music] that's dude you want to give that a go no thank you Wow okay we get someone flutters and then here's the one you're talking about is the no spin no spins you got a crouch down a very specific way everyone does it a little differently but how did you learn any of this well a big help for the Freestyle has been the Freestyle community that is in Vancouver oh yeah and Kevin Harris is one of my mentors growing up yeah and he's in Vancouver he's in Vancouver he's a one of the old professionals for powell-peralta back in the day standing with Rodney he's one of the pre ollie guys really yeah so when Rodney invented the ollie it was kind of like hmm should I learn this new trick is it a fad like what's up with the ollie right and yeah he made the decision he's like you know what like I'm not gonna learn the ollie I'm just gonna keep working on everything I have yeah and that always really excited me like what's skateboarding without ollie Yeah right yeah and turns out it's a lifetime career worth of tricks yeah I will autumn it to Monty little and Kevin Harris for hosting the world round up freestyle contest that brings people from all over the world Wow okay yeah I love spacewalks three-sixty smoke pot then there's like stationary spacewalks every water part I've ever had anyone it's been like the tension inside your body becomes the transition that you're riding physics is really bummed on this guy who's broke the laws of physics for sure yeah manuals are definitely my fun dude I love manuals so much [Applause] seven yesterday dude that's a good one [Music] being boy come on leave it in the comments below come on hashtag notification squad [Applause] okay this is like a variation of the last half of that trick well I call it a Skywalker and you're about to see it check it out where's the slo-mo when you need it Wow of that trick so I call that a Skywalker I'm gonna take it to dark slide so that's kind of like Skywalker to Darkseid anything can steam escape because I showed up so clean my boards that I brought you know we got the 80s 70s and then my new shape right here so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] fakie frontside 180 front foot impossible oh yeah Oh back-to-back my brain does not compute I look at skateboarding it sells he literally does Adams it's weird that's beyond me I can't even fathom what he's doing half the time so it's entertaining boardslide 50/50 switch front boardslide out get it I was incredible thanks man well played I've never seen a helmet like that well this helmet is made by sandbox I'm in the midst of trying to sell some my own yeah under the
