It all seemed like over kill when we see on the news them spraying everything down etc... mass quarantine, masks on everyone etc... but honestly it likely is what has kept it from exploding all at once over there. It will still spread but a lot slower.

I think we are going to see our efforts here in the US won't be enough this late in the ballgame. We are behind the 8 ball at this point.

When the lockdown in Wuhan started, there were 495 confirmed infections in Wuhan.

Now, in each of the epicenters outside China, there are several times this number of infections. There are some measures for slowing the spread of the virus, but very little to what was done in China.

Therefore, it certainly seems reasonable to expect that in other countries, the virus will spread much faster than it did in other countries.

We are seeing now that other countries are much less willing and able to act than China, even though they should have had more time to prepare.
