Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Every person interviewed in this had like a rehearsed reaction. This isnβt a documentary at all.....just propaganda.
Important to remember that NK heavily scripts any encounters outsiders have. For a more in depth look at that I highly recommend the VICE documentary series Inside North Korea.
Donβt have time to watch yet, but anybody know if the fun includes low income folk there, otherwise Iβm not surprised thereβs fun for those βwell offβ in NK.
"This Video is not Available"
What!? Thereβs human beings there!? And here I thought it was just him and his palace encompassing the entire country.
oh wow what a propaganda job. fascinating though.
Guys this seems like propaganda to me. So many things just seem off. Few I recall:
There were a lot of uniformed men standing around children at playgrounds
Lot of the people either seemed either panicked or annoyed in the interviews.
"The grocery store is so cold that the employees wear jackets" to me says either is terrible oversized HVAC system that no one around is able to fix... or the store is kept that cold to preserve the food for its propaganda.
The cars on the ad for the "state run car company" all recognizable foreign cars with their company logos photoshopped out, one of them specifically it a Chevrolet.
I'm not sure if the filmmaker's original intentions were make propaganda.. but the NK government definitely put their thumb on this one
This is the North Korean equivalent of "Life among the 1%".
I call bullshit, they do not allow anyone to freely roam and just film anything they want, period. Any group of foreigners is accompanied by βguideβ or a secret service agent if you will. Anything that foreigners see or film is strictly scripted and controlled. I mean there was this European dude who got arrested for taking picture of a guard on a public square a few years ago.
