hello and welcome to the cloud church my name is Robert breaker missionary evangelist and Spanish speaking people today we are in our fourth sermon of the cloud church and we're basically an internet ministry to people who can't leave the house and sick elderly if for whatever reason you can't go to church we're here for you want you to come here and learn the Bible if you do have a home church we desire you to go there this isn't an excuse to stay home and play hooky on Sundays but we do recommend you to come and learn the Bible here as well today we're going to look at the law vs. grace and this is a message that I believe it's very important and this message is really going to separate the men from the boys what do you believe about this message the law versus grace are we under the law or are we under grace I've talked to a lot of people I've met a lot of people seventh-day adventists Methodists Presbyterians even Baptists have told me no you've got to keep the law you've got to keep the law what does the Bible say about that that's what we're going to look at today so let's go to John chapter 1 and verse 17 I'll begin in John chapter 1 number 17 I ask you to have your King James Bible with you and please turn to the verses as we go King James 1611 authorized version so John 1:17 says these words from the law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ so the law came by Moses but grace and truth by Jesus Christ so let's draw here what we usually do our little map here let's make sure I've got enough room and what we've got here is we've got to hold the whole Bible written out we have Adam it was the first man over here we have Jesus Christ and over here we have the age of grace or the church age which ends in the rapture as we know then we have the little seven years of tribulation and then millennium thousand-year reign okay and I don't know if that even shows up on that side on on recording I guess it does so we have this time period here known as the I'm of the law and the Bible teaches the law came by Moses and who doesn't know that you can't read the whole Old Testament without realizing that God chose Moses to give us the law so the law came by Moses and by the way the law is a lot more than just the Ten Commandments here's here's your Ten Commandments well the grace is a time period over here that we call the church age and who gave us this well how does this go well I'm going to put Paul we know the church started with the Apostles the Bible says but Paul as we will see a little later God did him the dispensation of grace but to be honest this verse just says that grace and truth came by Jesus Christ so we can't leave out Jesus and we can't substitute Paul for Jesus they work together in the church age so this verse tells us John 1:17 for the law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ now there's a lot of people in the church today in the world today excuse me that want to believe that they are living in this time period they want to believe that they are under the law so there are many churches in this time period saying we must keep the law but others should rightly divide the scripture say no Jesus has died we are in a new testament you see this is called the Old Testament over here and over here is called the New Testament read Hebrews chapter 9 to see why there is a change from an old to a New Testament but there are many denominations that want to go back to the law of the Old Testament and say you have to keep the law to be safe they missed the most basic of divisions in the Bible rightly dividing the difference between the Old Testament in the New Testament in the Old Testament they were under the law in the New Testament we're under grace let's look at this but the question is and this is the question we want to answer today are you under the law are you under grace which are you under what we need to look at first is the law we'll look at the law what the law is how to be under the law what you need to do to be under the law and then let's look at grace so let's look at the law number one what you need to be under the law Galatians chapter 5 so if you have your Bible turn to Galatians chapter 5 and a lot of these people that say oh you've got to keep the law you got to keep the law I don't know if they even understand what the law is the law is more than just the Ten Commandments a lot of people say I'm going to Sabri v8 that a lot of people say you got to keep the Ten Commandments and they think that's the law I read a guy one time who said he went through the entire Old Testament he counted up something like 1500 laws you know there weren't just the Ten Commandments there's over 1500 Commandments in the Old Testament now I could be wrong there could be more there could be less but the law is more than just the Ten Commandments there is a lot more to the law matter of fact there's the ceremonial law and then there's the moral law there's two parts to the law and people divide that up so what does it take to be under the law Galatians chapter five and verse three and it says for I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law now let's look at 613 since it's right there should be on the same page or on the other side it says for neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law but desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh so to be under the law and many people today say oh we have to keep the law to be saved something's got to happen and I hope I have enough room for all this today let's go ahead and put this over here the first thing you need to do to be under the law is to be circumcised now I'm not going to explain what that is but that is a cutting of the flesh now hopefully you know where the cutting of the flesh is I don't want to talk about things that might seem vulgar to some but under the law God commanded if you were under the law that if you were a male a male man male man a male is I mean if you were a male there was a certain part of your flesh that you had to cut to start to be under the law it had to happen when we were eight days old or later in life if you were Gentile that decided to be a Jewish proselyte you could be circumcised later in life and circumcision just kind of makes a guy go who because he knows what has to be cut and it's a certain part of the flesh that has to be cut so my question to you you people that say oh you have to follow the law to be saved are you circumcised really I met many many people and many different denominations that say we're saved by the law some of them in one denomination don't even go to church on Sunday they go on Saturday they said we're keeping the law we're under the law well the Manatee question when were you circumcised I've yet to meet one that has actually been circumcised and yet they brag we keep the law we keep the law no you don't don't tell me that you keep the law when the first thing you must do in order to be under the law is to be circumcised you're not what's the next thing you need to do if you want to be under the law if you want to be one of those that lives under the law then you need to be circumcised and then secondly you need to be Jewish Hebrews chapter 7 and verse 11 turn with me if you would Hebrews seven eleven if therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood which were Jewish priests by the Levitical priesthood for under it it says in parentheses for under it the people received the law who were the people the Jews it says what further need was there that after that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek and not be called after the order of Aaron so this verse is telling us that Leviticus priesthood gave the law to the people who were the people Jews so if you want to keep the law there are certain conditions of things that must happen before you can even keep the law and the first one is you have to be circumcised if you are not circumcised you are not keeping the law it's that simple you can say oh I keep the law and you're saved by the law but if you're not circumcised you're not saved if you believe that you're saved by the law because you're not under the law cuz you're not circumcised you have to be Jewish the law was given by Moses to the Jews and to follow the law you have to be Jewish you say well I'm a Gentile okay then you must become a Jewish proselyte to Judaism to be under the law of Moses it's that simple yet many people claim to be Chris since today and yet they try to take people away from the cross and put them under the Old Testament law and say salvation is by keeping the law we're going to look at this in a little bit later but you know what the Bible even says that you can't even keep the law I don't know why people try to keep the law when even the Bible itself says that no one can keep the law yet you want to try in the hopes that if you do good enough works you'll get to heaven now what else do you need to do well Romans chapter 10 and verse 5 then in Romans chapter 10 and verse 5 look at what it says for Moses described it the righteousness which is of the law okay that the man which doeth those things shall live by them so let's say you have been circumcised let's say you are Jewish and let's say you want to keep the law and you fulfilled those two things the step three is do it do the law you see the law is by works he says you got to do it so keeping the law is doing what the law says that's working for salvation it's working your way to heaven so have you been circumcised are you Jewish are you doing the law well guess what I got bad news you're still lost even if you're doing that because grace came with Jesus and you see the people that do all these things under the law they did it before Jesus even came so for you to try to get under the law today is to reject Jesus Christ reject the age of grace in which we live and say no that's not important I want to do this right here well good luck let's look at some verses because according to the Bible you can't even keep the law you say I keep the law keep the law no you don't know one in 6,000 years of human history has kept the law in every point except one person Jesus Christ he's the only one that ever kept the law without sinning one time matter of fact James chapter 2 and verse 10 tells us James chapter 2 and verse 10 you have your Bible look with me to James chapter 2 and verse 10 a lot of people think well I keep the law I keep the law um but if you send one time just once the Bible says that's it he/she here no longer keeping the law you've messed up James chapter 2 and verse 10 says for whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet and fend in one point in just one sin one point says he is guilty of all all it takes is one sin one sin one time not keeping the law and then you're guilty of the entire law Wow what a thing to think about see no one has ever lived without sinning the Bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God we've got to move we've got to go look at John chapter 7 and verse 19 I've got so much to say today in so little time and I want to just give you scripture after scripture after Scripture and I hope people will look this up in their Bibles because it is wrong to try to put people under the law when we are today under the age of grace John chapter 7 and verse 19 says did not Moses give you the law and yet none of you keepeth the law why you go ye about to kill me now this is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ talking to the Pharisees under the law and What did he say he said none of you keepeth the law he said those Pharisees that are trying to be in the law they don't keep it you see it's impossible to keep the law because the law is perfect perfection that God wants for man and guess what man's a sinner he can't be perfect there hasn't existed one man that's lived his whole life without ever sinning except Jesus Christ is because he was God manifest in the flesh and there's a reason he kept the law we'll get to that in a minute so let's go to Hebrews chapter 9 and verse 22 because here's another thing you have to do if you keep the law I'll put this up here as number 4 and all these people that say oh I keep the law I keep the law let me start that over there they say oh we keep the law we keep the law no you don't most people when they think of the law they think only of the Ten Commandments and they say well I keep those thinking so unrighteous but there's more to the law than the 10 commandments and there's something that God gave in the law we just read that no one can follow the law without sinning eventually you will sin I don't care how long you think you've gone you never sinned one day you will sin because of your sinful nature when you do the law gave in the law something for you to do for that sin to get remission of that sin and it was blood sacrifice so under the law of Moses if you sin you were to take an animal and I'm not good at drawing animals so please please forget how awful this looks but the Bible said you sinned you had to take a land and he gave you you know if you were too poor you could take a turtle turtle dove like Marion or something you had to sacrifice that lamb kill it and that blood had to be offered up through a Levitical priest onto the altar for the forgiveness of your sins now let me ask you something you people that say oh I'm under the law we're going to the law I keep the law for salvation when did you offer a sacrifice for your sin you say well I never have then you are not keeping the law you have to be circumcised to keep the law if you are not circumcised you are not under the law you have to be Jewish are you Jewish you have to do works you have to do the law and when you do the law you realize hey on the sinner I did wrong now what well the law says offer a blood sacrifice have you done that even the Jews don't do that the Jews are trying to live under this law today and yet they don't have blood sacrifice as a matter of fact they are waiting to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem with one purpose in mind to do a sacrifice for all of Israel and very shortly the Bible says in tribulation that's going to take place over here they're going to be able to rebuild their temple it is prophesied in the scriptures that that will take place in the tribulation so people that claim that they keep the law they don't keep the law I've seen many Christians all you got to keep the law to get to heaven well they don't even know what it takes to be under the law and they're not even under the they're not circumcised not Jews not doing the works they don't do a blood sacrifice you're not under the law so what does that mean that means they're wrong they can claim to be under the law they want but until these four things take place they're not even under the law they're not obeying the law now the question is are you circumcised are you Jewish do you obey all the law have you offered blood sacrifices if you can answer yes to that then good for you but guess what even with all that stated there's still another thing called grace which Jesus brought and until you come through Jesus to Grace you're not saved you say do you mean keeping the law won't save you that's exactly what I'm saying and that's exactly what you'll see through the rest of this tape is I'm going to give you nothing but scriptures to prove that we are under grace not under the law and that salvation is not under the law but under grace so let's turn to that before we do I want to ask this question what is the law so if you can't get out of the law and you can't complete the law and can't do the law what is the law what is it anyway well the Bible tells us what the law is let's go to Romans chapter 3 and verse 20 the Bible itself tells us why God gave us the law and what the law is because there was a time when people were under the law but that was before Jesus came we are not under the law today so in Romans chapter 3 and verse 20 the Bible says therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight so we cannot be justified or saved by the deeds of the law by works by doing the deeds of the law in in verse some 20 it continues for by the law is the knowledge of sin so what is the law the law is number one knowledge of sin so the law tells us what sin is how would we know what sin is without the law everyone says hold the law that Old Testament law what is that that's the DAO shalt nots thou shalt not you see the law tells you okay don't do this don't do this don't do this don't do this thou shalt not commit adultery thou shalt not kill thou shalt not bear false witness the law tells us what sin is and then tells us now don't do that do you know anyone that's ever lived and completed that no when you're a little child you you learn how to lie I'm sure everyone watching this has told a lie at least one time in their life well guess what you're guilty of the entire law you've you've messed up at one point you're guilty enough look at romans 4 15 what is the law it shows us what sin is romans 4 15 says because the law worketh wrath for where no law is there is no transgression so what is the law the law is sin and the law is transgression I'm sorry the law tells us what sin is and what a transgression is so if you want to be under the law you're studying the law the law tells you what sin is and what transgression is and the laws telling you don't do this don't do this don't do this and if you're trying to live that hey I commend you you ought to want to live right but you're not going to get to heaven because you did right because if we can be saved by the law then this over here means absolutely nothing Jesus coming means nothing so the law tells us what sin is the law also according the Bible is holy look at Romans chapter 7 and verse 2 go to Romans 7 2 with me Romans chapter 7 and verse 2 I want 12 I wrote 7 - Romans 7:12 if you would the bible says wherefore the law is holy and the commandment holy just and good so the Bible says that the law also is holy so basically the law was given to us by God to show us right from wrong and show us how to live holy but guess what you can attempt to keep the law your entire life from the time you're born until the time you die eventually you will sin because every man has a sinful nature and God knew that that's why he gave in the law here's what happens when you do sin you offer a blood sacrifice so the law is holy it shows us how to live a holy life but the law doesn't save us that's what we're going to get to in a minute what else is the law the law is a curse look at Galatians chapter 3 Galatians chapter 3 the law is a curse the Bible says in Galatians chapter 3 and verse 10 Galatians 3:10 the Bible says for as many as are the works of the law are under the curse what is written cursed is every one to continue with not in all the things which are written in the book of the law to do them so cursed is every one that's under the law so if you're one of those who wants to try to keep the law and you think you can get to heaven because of the law Bible says you're cursed you're not saved by keeping the law you're cursed you say well why did God give us a lot to show us right from wrong and we'll get to it in a minute why the main reason was that God gave us the law because it was to point us to Jesus Christ we will see that in a minute so what is the law it's the knowledge of sin the law is holy it shows us what's right and how to live right it shows us what God wants from us it's also a curse what else is the law well I call it a slave-driver go ahead and write that up here you see the law it forces you to be under it and it domineers over you look at what it says in Romans chapter 7 and verse 1 if you want to live under the law then you're wanting to live under a system that gives you no grace no Liberty no joy no happiness no peace look at Romans chapter 7 and verse 1 Paul says know ye not brethren for I speak to them that know the law how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth its dominion its subjugating you it's forcing you to serve God in a certain way you see under grace we serve God because we want to not because we have to under the law before Jesus crack came the Jews had to follow the law and guess what they learned they learned the best they could do was it enough because they could not fulfill the law they were under a curse they were under a system which showed them hey you're a sinner luckily they could be saved by a blood atoning a blood sacrifice if that wasn't in the law oh the law would be worthless because it would say hey do this this and this and people would say I can't I tried but I can't but the law offered a way to have forgiveness of sin now what else is the law well this is the best part Galatians chapter 3 again and let's look at Galatians chapter 3 verse 23 in Galatians 3:23 this is the best part of what the law is Galatians 3:23 says and I'm going to read all the way down to verse 24 so 23 and 24 Galatians 3 23 and 24 but before faith came we were kept under the law shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed it says wherefore the law is our schoolmaster to bring a sense of Christ that we might be justified by faith so what the law is is a schoolmaster and according to this verse all you that want to live under the law listen to this verse it says it's a schoolmaster to bring us under Christ so the law was given by God to show man he's a sinner and he could not please God then he must come to Jesus Christ because the law is a schoolmaster to point us to Jesus because only through Jesus do we find forgiveness of sins only through Jesus do we find salvation so that's what the law is it's the knowledge of sin it's holy it's a curse a slave-driver but it's the schoolmaster to point us to Jesus Christ if you want to live under the law and think you can get to heaven you are denying Jesus Christ because he's the only one that forgive you can forgive you and we will see that shortly that the salvation of your never dying soul only comes through grace in this day and age it does not come through keeping the law now let's look at some other verses the law points us to Jesus into grace now I want you to look at that the law was made to show us what sin was but it points us to grace the law points us to Jesus Christ and points us to grace what is that all right let's look at this go to Romans chapter 8 and verse 23 Romans 8:23 in basically we've looked at what the law is and we started out this sermon which said the law came by Moses but grace and truth that said grace and truth comes by Jesus Christ so I want to get to heaven through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ not through Moses so the only way for me to get this heaven as I rightly divide the word of truth is realize hey it's only through grace it's only through Jesus it's only through what he's done as we'll see a little later God revealed unto Paul about that grace to go into the Gentiles and preaching so this over here salvation today God is taking to the Gentiles that means juice can be safe today too that they must come through Jesus most Jews don't want Jesus that's why they still try to be under the law but over here under the law were Jews and Jews came to God in the Old Testament through the law but Gentiles can be safe excuse me can be safe today through faith through grace in salvation today is by faith let me write that up there this is very important and salvation in the Old Testament for the Jews under the law was was by works and we will see there is a difference between the two so Romans chapter 8 and verse 2 and 3 this is what the scriptures say Romans 8:2 oh well let's start in verse 1 Romans 8:1 there is there for now Oh condemnation you see the law is a curse it condemns it condemns a man as a sinner because the more you try to keep the law the more you realize I can't I'm a sinner so you're under condemnation of God when you keep the law but it says here that there's no condemnation some through grace the condemnation is gone the curse is gone there's no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin so when you're saved through faith you are free from the law and it continues free from the law of sin and death for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh God sending his own son and likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh so the law is condemned by Jesus Christ God condemned the law through Jesus because he's the only one that ever kept the law and because he kept the law he said now salvation is through grace through faith salvation by faith let's look at some more verses because you say why are you teaching this because it's so important because there are many people today that do not rightly divide the word of truth they don't understand the Bible and they only read so far and they think oh to get to heaven I've got to follow the law they don't rightly divide guess where they're going to end up you're going to end up in hell burning for all eternity because they've been condemned by the law but they never come to Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins for salvation because salvation is only through Jesus look at this verse Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 15 wherefore I also ask you to 215 it's talking about Jesus Christ let's back up to verse 13 but now in Christ Jesus ye who were sometimes who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ you see our sacrifice is Jesus Christ he's the one who shed his blood on the cross we know long we don't need to sacrifice animals like they did in the Old Testament and in the Old Testament when they did that they received a remission of sins but when we come to Jesus Christ the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world he offers not just remission but for giveness of sins he said what's the difference well in the Old Testament when you sin according to the law you offered a blood sacrifice for your sin you received remission of sins that means those sins that you did they were gone they were remitted but if you send again you can be charged for that sin again you say when someone has cancer and it goes away they say it's in remission but that means it can come back but when you have forgiveness that means it's completely gone see how great and we're back once again the power went out anyway we were reading through Ephesians chapter 2 I'm sorry verse 13 in fusions 213 the power just came on if he's is 213 so I'm sorry for the power outage ok pieces 213 says but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were afar off or were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ for he is our peace who have made both one and have broken down the middle of wall of petition between us having abolished in his flesh listen to this having abolished in his flesh the enmity even the law of Commandments contained in ordinances for to make in himself of twain one new man so making peace so it says right here that Jesus Christ abolished the law so Jesus offers forgiveness he freed us from the law we're freed through him what he's done he also abolished the law so the law is abolished according to the scriptures Jesus Christ abolished the law go to Romans chapter 10 in verse 4 there are people today that say no no no even though Jesus died and salvation is only through him we're still under the law really you really believe that have you been reading your Bible look at Romans chapter 10 and verse 4 I mean it can't be any clearer Romans chapter 10 I'm in first Corinthians Romans chapter 10 verse four it says for Christ is the end of the law end of the law it can't be any clearer than that can it it says in verse 10 for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth salvation today is by believing by faith we are no longer saved by works doing something to get to heaven we are saved by believing by grace through faith Jesus saves us through faith in what he's done his finished work and I better write it up here first Corinthians 15 1 through 4 the gospel we are saved by believing the gospel the finished work of Jesus Christ his blood atonement and this verse makes it so clear he says you are you're not in the law Christ is the end of the law to everyone that believeth that's what it says how does it how does it get any any clearer than that let's look at Romans chapter 6 if you want to be under the law if you're preaching to get under the law you are a Pharisee a modern-day Pharisee and you are preaching against the plan of salvation for us today we are not saved by the law Romans chapter 6 verse 14 says for shed sin shall not have dominion over you for ye are not under the law but under grace what then shall we sin because we're not under the law but under grace god forbid so he says you are not under the law so Jesus Christ says we are not under the law now Jesus Christ is either the biggest liar that ever lived or he is God manifest in the flesh that's telling the truth and he's telling us hey you're not alone anymore the under grace well I choose to believe Jesus how about you are you under the law are you following the Scriptures and under grace let's look at Galatians chapter 2 now Galatians is a good book I recommend you read that if you're one of those that wants to believe you're still under the law read the book of Galatians because the book of Galatians is written to people that crept to the church they tried to say oh you got to be circumcised oh you got to keep the law oh you got to do this you got to do that and Paul is writing to those people and saying no it's by faith alone that you're saved not by the law in English ins 2 I'm going to read 19 through 21 Galatians 2 and verse 19 through 21 says for I through the law in dead to the law that I might live unto God I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live yet not i but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith salvation by faith of the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me and listen listen to what Paul says in verse 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God he says for if righteousness come by the law then Christ is dead in vain listen to that verse Paul says I am dead to the law and Paul says that it's salvation or by the law then Jesus Christ died on the cross for nothing Christ is dead in vain that means Jesus died for nothing it's meaningless what Jesus died did when he died because we can get to heaven through the law you better listen to what the scriptures say you're either saved by faith through grace Ephesians 2:8 9 today are you saved by the law if you're saved by the law then Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul are the biggest liars this world ever saw or they're telling the truth and you've been taught something that's wrong you're not under the law you're under grace Paul says if graciousness came by the law then Jesus Christ is dead in vain Jesus died for nothing so as a Christian I'm freed from the law we saw the verses on that the bôla' has been abolished through Jesus Christ we read that verse at the end of the law is Jesus Christ for all that belief we are not under the law Paul says we are dead to the law so the law doesn't save Galatians chapter five verses one through four what a thing these people that try to put people under the law they're deceiving you and they're going to send you to hell because they reject Jesus Christ and salvation is only through the gospel of the teaching of what Jesus did for us Galatians chapter 5 verse 1 through 4 says stand fast therefore in the Liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage you see the law is a slave driver it puts you under bondage but we are free in Jesus Christ when we believe free from the law in Galatians five one through four says verse two behold I Paul say to you that if ye be circumcised Christ shall profit you nothing for I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is a dabber debtor a debtor to do the whole law Christ has become a nun effect of no effect unto you whosoever you are justified by law you are fallen by from grace he says Jesus Christ is of none effect to those that are trying to keep the law but what was the effect that Jesus did well he according to the gospel Christ died for our sins was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures for what to save us you're saved by believing by faith believing the gospel of Jesus Christ so you have the law on one side and Grace on the other where are we today we're right here so today salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ in the old days it was through the law but now it's through Jesus Christ let's go to Roman's again Romans chapter 7 I do not honestly I do not understand how a person today could try to live under the law if they just read the Bible someone's not reading the Bible because the Bible makes it very clear we are not under the law Romans chapter 7 verse 1 it says no you're not brother for I speak to them that know the law have that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth for the woman which hath one husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth but if the husband be dead she is loosed from the law of her husband so then if while her husband liveth she be married to another man she be called an adulterer but if her husband be dead she is freed from the law so that she is no adulteress though she be married to another man now verse 4 says wherefore my brother you also are become dead to the law dead to the law it says where am I by the body of Christ that you should be married to another even to him who is raised from the dead we should bring forth fruit unto God so we are dead to the law and we are to be married to Jesus Christ by salvation you become part of the body of Christ which the Bible calls the Bride of Christ so it's so important to realize that we're not saved by the law now look at verse 6 same context verse 6 but now we are delivered from the law that being dead wherein we were held that we should serve in newness of spirit and not in the oldest of the letter so we are delivered hope this isn't too low I hope you can see that I don't know I guess so we are delivered the Bible says delivered from the law now listen you can't get any clearer than that the law over on this side is a curse it was a schoolmaster to bring us to Jesus when you come to Jesus you're freed from the law because Jesus abolished the law on the cross he is the end of the law to all the belief you're not under the law you're dead to the law you're delivered from the law when you become saved through faith in the finished work in the gospel of Jesus Christ many people say no no you're saved by the law all right let's show you some more verses if the Bible hasn't convinced you yet I'll just show you a couple more places I don't know how else to convince people of the truth but to give them Bible verses and the Bible is very clear we are not under the law we are under grace Galatians chapter 3 I'm skinny Galatians 2:16 doesn't get much clearer plain King James Bible English even a sixth grader could understand this verse it says knowing Galatians 2:16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law justification is salvation but by the faith of Jesus Christ even we have believed in Jesus Christ that might we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law or by the works of law shall no flesh be justified you can go to law believe you're saved by the works of the law but you will never be justified that means you will never be forgiven by the works of law because this verse says you're justified by faith not by the works of the law you want to follow the law and argue with the Bible you help yourself as for me I'm going to follow the scriptures Romans chapter four verse four and five Romans four four and five says now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace but of debt but to him that worketh not but believeth on him to justify the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness you see the Old Testament law you were righteous by keeping the law that's called self-righteousness but the moment you sinned you lost all that righteousness you had out a sacrifice but the Bible says we have God's righteousness imputed righteousness by faith by believing in what Jesus Christ did for us Romans chapter 3 and verse 25 I was saved with Romans Jordan 325 I've given my testimony before this was the verse that I got saved reading Romans 3:25 but I want to look at what it says after that verse as well so I'll start in verse 25 and read on it says whom God had set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness who's Jesus because he's the only one that ever kept the law without sinning to declare his righteousness that he might be just and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus where is boasting then it is excluded but what law of works neighbor by the law of faith therefore listen to verse 28 therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law so you are saved by faith alone without the deeds of the law without any works the law and keeping the law does not save you you're justified forgiven of all sins through faith Jesus Christ I'm just going to read a couple more verses I'm going to go to Galatians three and then I'll go to Romans four and we'll close I don't know what else to do but make this as clear as I possibly can and I've tried to do that today you say well all you did was turn to the books of Paul well the Bible says in Romans 10 Romans 1113 that Paul is our apostle and God gave unto Paul a dispensation of grace the Bible says he is our apostle and God chose him to go to the Gentiles and preach the truth and the truth is were saved by faith now Galatians chapter 3 we've read some of this before but look at what he says in Galatians 3 verse 1 o foolish Galatians who has betwixt you bewitched you bewitched you that ye should not obey the truth what is when we start with we started with John it says the law became by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ he said that she should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ have been evidently set forth crucified among you this only would I learn of you received you to spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith it was by the hearing of faith now look at verse 10 for as many as are of the works of the law or under the curse where it is written cursed is everyone that continued with not in things which are written in the book of the law to do then those that try to keep the law are cursed because they'll eventually realize I can't keep the law I've sinned it were continuous in verse 11 but that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident for the just shall live by faith we're saved by faith today under grace if the law is not a faith but the man that doeth them shall live in them it's a works the law is works to be saved salvation is the finished work of Jesus Christ 13 says Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us for as it is written cursed is everyone the hangeth on a tree so we are redeemed let me write that over on this side through Jesus Christ he redeemed us from the curse of the law how by faith in verse 14 says that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Jesus Christ that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith salvation is by faith verse 26 says for you all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus the law came by Moses but grace and truth by Jesus Christ faith is what saves us in the age of grace and now let's close with Romans chapter 4 I hope this has been a blessing to you I hope that what's being presented here today you'll be able to understand it and if you you take your Bibles out and read the verses with us I believe that will help all of us have been taught since we were little got to do good you got to do good and that's true we should do good but doing good does not save you what saves you is Jesus Christ the law was given as a schoolmaster to bring us to him if you're still under the law you still need to be schooled you still need to see hey I can't be saved by the law can only be saved by the finished work of Jesus Christ Romans chapter 4 verse 13 through 16 and we'll close Romans 4:13 says for the promise that he should be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law but through the righteousness of faith and then so faith is over here the law is over here where are we today we're over here in the church age right before the rapture so we are under the age of grace verse 14 says for a day which are the law be heirs faith is made void and the promise made of none effect because the law worketh wrath for where no law is there is no transgression look at verse 16 therefore it is a faith that it might be by grace are you listening it is by faith it is a faith that it might be by grace to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed not to that only which is of the law but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham who is the father of us all so this scripture says the reason we're saved by faith today is that it might be grace so the longer is grace which one are we under well according to the Bible we live in a day in which God will deal with man and save man based upon His grace through man's faith and his finished work Jesus to 89 says for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works not of works lest any man should boast there it is doesn't get much simpler you want to follow along try to get to heaven are you circumcised better do that if that's how you think you get to heaven are you Jewish well you better convert to Judaism are you doing works to try to follow the law well when's the last time you did a blood sacrifice I don't need to sacrifice an animal for my sins because Jesus Christ died for me he's my sacrifice I'm under grace and I trusted him as my savior he's freed me from the law he's abolished the law he's the end of the law I'm not under the law according to the scriptures I'm dead to the law I've been delivered and I've been redeemed through grace can't make it in cleaner if you're not saved today you need to get saved you're saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ trusting the gospel 1st Corinthians 15 1 through 4 look it up if you are saved I hope this has been an eye-opener and hope the next time someone tells you oh you got to follow the law to be saved you can take the Bible out and say let me show you some verses because Jesus Christ is the end of the law to all who believe thank you we look forward to seeing you next week god bless
