The Heartbreaking Truth About Jada and Tupac's Relationship

[Music] in a recent episode of red tape we'll talk Jodha interviewed rubbing Horford about her relationship with Whitney but what was also revealing of what Jada shared about her friendship with Tupac Shakur it's hard to love someone who you know has had a legacy at the level that she has had and then to lose them under tragic circumstances because I have a very similar situation many speculated for years that Jade and Park dated but Jonah said that couldn't have been further from the truth rather their relationship was more like an older brother strokes sister relationship or even that of a father and daughter she implied that in a relationship he ran deeper than any physical relationship ever could to pop and Jada met at the Baltimore School of Performing Arts they remain close friends of right up until his tragic death in 1996 was the first day and he came over to me and introduced himself and in high school Park was a little funny looking definitely from looking at him wasn't necessarily the type of cat that I would even like deal with but as soon as he approached me he was like a magnet when she paid attention to him he kind of sucked you in and we hit it off from that moment on I don't think either one of us thought we would have made it the way we did but we knew we were going to do something play to pay kick that is my heart you're not amazed Hildebrandt will be all together she could have my one heart my liver my lungs my kidneys my blood marrow in an interview of MTV Jada revealed that she thinks about the rapper every day there's not a day that goes by they day think about Park I think about him every single day addressing the rumors that there were once more than just friends Jada admitted that the pair attempted kissing once but confessed that they lacked physical chemistry when you have two young people that have very strong feelings but there was no physical chemistry between us at all and it wasn't even just for me it was for him too she said in a 2015 interview there was a time when I was lying just kissed me let's see how this goes and when I tell you it had to be the most disgusting kiss for both of us the only way I could put it is that the higher power just did not want that in 2017 a biopic about what life on work of 2-part was released Jada slammed the movie calling it inaccurate and accusing the makers of misrepresenting her relationship with Park in a series of tweets she said forgive me my relationship to Park is too precious for the scenes in all eyes on me to stand as truth hard to never read to me that poem I didn't know that permit sister until it was printed in his book Park never said goodbye to me before leave her for LA he had to leave abruptly and it wasn't to pursue his career the reimagining of my relationship to Park has been deeply hurtful in the poem reference in the movie - Park reaffirms that their relationship was not physical writing you bring me to climax without sex and you do it with regal grace you are my heart in human form a friend I could never replace and a lot of people have a difficult time understanding relationships of that manner because everybody thinks the highest grade of relating is romantic and sexual and it's not yeah when we get into lifetime committed relationships we start to realize those components aren't everything in 1996 teapot was murdered in Las Vegas after attended a Mike Tyson fight earlier in the evening he was involved in an altercation with Orlando Anderson the fight was caught on surveillance I was the last footage of Park before his death he died of respiratory failure that led to cardiac arrest after the removal of his right long doctors attempted to revive him but could not I remember calling Athenians and say do I need to get on a plane right now she said Jada he's gonna be okay do you get here when you can spot keeping shot before I he was like a cat with like nine lives my mother knocks on the hotel door will opens the door as soon as I see her face I knew it was gone you know and a lot of people you know talk about my relationship with Park and trying to figure that out you know and that was a huge loss in my life over yeah because he was one of those people that I expected to be here my upset is more anger you know what I'm saying because I feel that he left me and I know that's not true and it's a very selfish way to think about it but I really did believe that he was gonna be here for the long run and so when I think about it I still get really mad I get mad at God I get mad at him I get mad at everybody right you know also knowing that it happened right when a change was occurring in his life yeah yeah so he didn't really get a chance to be all that he could right but he he played his role in you know he did what he was meant to do at the time of his death Tupac was engaged to Kidada Jones she was in Las Vegas with him the night he was shot what was at a different location j-dog was dating Will Smith who she married in 1997 although they were not romantic with each other Jada admitted that part would be possessive over her and insecure about her dating for fear that it would interfere with what they had just talked talking that understood because of the complex relationship I've had with POC and those moments of his who's that know it damn well they ain't nothing like between us him feeling like you're the only stability I got I can't afford for you to put that attention elsewhere I need that stability so for him it was we were an anchor for each other oh yeah so anytime he felt like that anchor was threatened oh my god that's a good point because people will think well she was jealous or that's jealousy no no it is possessive yep and protective because it's a process it's a lot of things I didn't understand while I was in it yep I you know what I mean in the end they found happiness with other people sadly Jada and to park weren't speaking at the time of his death that had a huge argument believed to be about their different paths in life when you made the decision that it was time for you to walk away and I can only I know I know the depths of that struggle you know I haven't had to deal with them as well you know it's definitely taught me a lesson which is life is too short do not let disagreements stand between you and the people you love he was one of them I tell you it's interesting I have to say that Park was probably one of the first male figures that I had in my life that saw the beauty and the talent and my intelligence separated from sex mm-hmm right so that's something that a child a young girl usually gets from their father I didn't have that pop was the first one that it wasn't about sex it was about you you're a beautiful woman you're talented you're strong I respect you and you are my girl you gonna sit right here and I'm gonna protect you make sure if nothing else you get what you need and that's what our relationship is like we kind of did that for each other you know no one ever really dies we keep them with us if that's the truth mm-hmm I tell people all the time I'm like and you don't get over it you just learn how to cope no without having them here do you think it's possible for people of the opposite sex to have truly platonic relationships it sounds like they had a beautiful relationship and I really do think some like that comes around once in their lifetime it must have been a huge loss for her but I'm sure she is grateful to happen to be rated it thanks for watching share your thoughts below rate comment and subscribe if you enjoyed the video don't forget to click the bell for more [Music] you [Music] [Music]
