this track is summer 20 coming from the summer 2020 campaign the very first campaign released in the latest trackmania game it looks pretty much like a regular campaign map easy to finish hard to master one thing that distinguishes this map from others is the theme of constantly going down making you feel like on a downhill slalom between the icy hills the world record on this map at the end of the season was 36.34 by reista back when everyone was hunting the campaign maps to climb the leaderboards i wasn't really interested in that however one thing that i always enjoyed doing was taking the campaign maps and changing them to create interesting challenges that's why i created two of the campaign modifications in the checkpointless campaign all of the checkpoints were removed from the map leaving holes in the regular route forcing drivers to find a different way from start to finish in the reverse campaign the start block and the finished block were swapped with each other forcing drivers to find a way to finish the map in the opposite direction the checkpointless version of summer 20 was pretty easy to finish the start block was placed very high on the map and the finish line was placed in the lowest area all that had to be done was to find the quickest way to fall all the way down between the obstacles the problem started when i was trying to find a way to finish the reverse version common sense should already tell you that climbing the hill all the way up to reach the area where the start block was originally placed is going to be pretty hard after taking a closer look you will start noticing many problems anti-boosters holes and elevation changes that can be easily passed additionally all of this scenery is covered in slippery snow blocking anyway to avoid the obstacles after testing some of my ideas i managed to find a way to pass some of the checkpoints but in the end i got stuck and decided to move to other maps still i thought that maybe someone else will be able to find a way to finish it so i shared the unfinished map with my community people quickly started working their way through the checkpoints and managed to find a way to get all of them but the last remaining problem was to get from the last checkpoint to the finish line there was an idea on how to get there but nobody could to get lucky enough to do it the interest in finishing the challenge slowly decreased as new campaigns arrived and it just remained on the list of the missing maps however after over a year and a half something unexpected happened and the map was finally finished by the player mocha for you the way he used for this map is pretty amazing so i've decided to go into details when showing his run so that it could be fully appreciated let's have a look the first problematic part is right at the start of the map the long straight line of ice is followed by a strong anti-booster and a no steering block behind it that is already pretty discouraging but there is a trick to get through that by setting the car perfectly perpendicular to the booster mocha slide it over without it taking any bigger effect on the car once he did that he still had to cope that the car would be aligned towards the checkpoint because otherwise he would not be able to rest at the no steering effect that way the first checkpoint out of 6 has been collected the next part is relatively easy you can just hold the brake and slalom over the anti-booster and in the following area build up a bit of speed that will be needed for the upcoming jump it seems like the ramp is in the way but you can just easily jump next to it and continue driving to the next checkpoint two out of six checkpoints collected the next part has no obstacles at all but you wanna keep in mind to keep good speed and angle for the turn that comes after checkpoint three three out of six checkpoints collected at this checkpoint you might want to respawn a few times to get the best speed outcome possible there's a slow motion block that can help you get a bit more precise on that once you think that you are ready to commit you wanna go for the next checkpoint four out of six checkpoints collected now you're gonna see why this setup was necessary to get to the next checkpoint you will have to crash into the snowy hill hoping to bounce all the way to the top if your approach for the bounce was bad you would have to get back all the way to checkpoint 2 build up this speed again and do another attempt but if your setup was fine you can just respawn at checkpoint 4 repeating only the bounce alone on his run mocha managed to get the setup pretty well giving him a rather consistent wristband position in which he would make it to the top most of the time once on top we can see another checkpoint but you don't want to take it yet instead you want to go for the ring checkpoint that comes after for that you want to build up a good amount of speed drive in the small gap next to the tilted checkpoint and shortly after try to climb the snowy staircase if you fail the climb you will respawn back to checkpoint 4 and you will have to do the first bounce again so having a consistent setup there will make your life much easier on the snowy climb you wanna reach one of the two highest layers getting up there and not sleeping back down is extremely random and lucky and getting there does not even mean you're done yet you still have to drive on the tight snowy step and turn your car in the right moment to drop to the ring checkpoint if you time it wrong you might crash into the ring without hitting the trigger and that would force you to do the climb up the hill again after taking the ring checkpoint mocha only had one last checkpoint to take the one we've passed before when you respawn in the ring you get stuck in the loop of falling down into the pit below but since ring checkpoints do not have stationary wristband points you can just respawn to the one you had before in this case it being checkpoint 4. this time you once again have to do the bounce on the snowy hill to reach the higher area but this time you don't have the convenient wristband position anymore so now there is no way to avoid it and you actually have to build up speed for every attempt as i mentioned before it's best to get back all the way to checkpoint number two and then again get back up with speed eventually after a couple of attempts mocha managed to do the bounce again reaching the higher area being up here you wanna get as much speed as you can and pass through the last checkpoint all checkpoints reached now it's time for the hardest part getting to the finish line having this checkpoint as your last one lets you respawn with good speed at angle to do your attempts on the last trick as often as possible and for the last trick you once again want to climb the snowy staircase but this time you have to get all the way to the highest layer this is the part that was reached by several players before but nobody could reach all the way to the top but on this run after around 1 hour of respawning on the last checkpoint mocha for you finally managed to get to the top [Music] [Music] once he was up there there was a very scary right on the edge of the block followed by jumping down to the main part of the map from there all he had to do was to get a bit of speed and drive the last uphill towards the finish line the final finish time was 1 hour 31 minutes and 422 thousandths of a second out of which over one hour was spent on trial and error on the last checkpoint this truck really required extraordinary skill level and patience as well as a lot of planning and path fighting personally i never expected to see this map finished even if in theory we all knew that the way to do that was already well established with this map being done the summer 2020 reverse campaign was complete with all of the maps being legitimately validated out of the 8 seasonal campaigns we have had so far with a total of 200 maps we are left with only two reverse maps and four checkpointless maps that still have not been finished whether or not they will ever be finished is unknown but knowing the trackmania community i can only say one thing never say never i hope you enjoyed this video if you want to show your support consider leaving some feedback as it surely motivates me to create these more complex videos i also want to invite you to my discord server if you want to be up to date with all my upcoming projects that's all for today thanks for watching have a nice day goodbye
