don't believe it's my accident that you've tuned into the program today listen the topic I'm gonna address today many people consider to be controversial no that's not exactly why I'm addressing it in fact I don't ever just address a topic for the sake of being controversial but I am speaking about the language of the Holy Spirit otherwise known as the gift of speaking in tongues now I know to some believers this might be a taboo topic especially because when you address such things there are so many emotions that are usually involved in a topic like this but I specifically wanted to address this today because number one I believe that speaking in tongues is still for today it's still for the church and it comes with many great benefits that God wants to give you God wants to bless you with this gift God wants to give you this gift so that you can communicate with him on a higher level than you've ever known before when you begin to speak in tongues you create this closeness and this conversation and the spirit that otherwise could not happen so as you watch today's program I want you to remove the reservations from your mind I want you to remove any barriers or or mental blockage or emotional reserves that you may be holding against this gift maybe in some church culture you are part of the very forceful with the gift or perhaps you've seen the gift use in very bizarre manners or you've watched various misuses of this gift but I want to assure you this is a beautiful gift of the Holy Spirit this is something that God has given to us the church to bless us with so that we can function at a higher level of expression so that we can function in a higher realm of prayer and that's really what this gift is all about and I believe that as you're watching I'm gonna address a couple things I'm gonna address the purpose of the gift I'm gonna address the fact that it's still for today and I'm gonna address what it is really that's going on in the spirit when you're praying in the gift of speaking in tongues so as we address this topic again I want to I want to assure you that God loves you and he's not going to give you a stone if you ask for bread God is not going to give you a serpent when you ask for fish he's going to give us his children who ask him for the Holy Spirit or gifts of the Holy Spirit he's gonna give us those very same gifts every good and perfect gift comes from above and I want you to know that as you're watching this program right now you can be filled to the Holy Spirit to such an overflow that that gift begins to manifest in your life so remove the reserves remove the emotional barriers we're gonna go to the Word of God today and we're gonna see what the scripture has to say on this particular topic so let's go now to Lawndale California where it's actually a men's conference where I was teaching this particular lesson but I believe it's for everyone so even though it's a men conference you're invited to come in and take a look this took place in Lawndale California where I taught on that gift we're gonna go there now watch this the Bible says this first Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 through 16 and it's funny how often you hear it read so mysteriously right they get up and they say no eye has seen no ear has heard no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him and we talk about this as if it's some distant thing or when you get to heaven those are the things that you won't even understand no very next verse verse 10 but it was to us that God revealed these things by his spirit the scripture goes on to say that nobody knows you better than your spirit and nobody knows God better than his spirit and so God communicates these things spirit to spirit God is talking to you God is speaking to you God is imparting to you God is fellowshipping with you whether you are aware of it or not as your day goes on there is a celestial conversation happening in the heavenly realm that's why the scripture says the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be uttered there's something happy inside the spirit that can't be put into physical words so I was gonna teach this whole lesson on the baptism of the holy spirit but I'm gonna jump way ahead Jesus said out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water when you are saved you receive the Holy Spirit but at the baptism you release him you become filled this is why we get confused we say wait a minute I was already saved and I had the Holy Spirit how I do I need to receive the Holy Spirit again you don't receive from without you receive from out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water the Holy Spirit doesn't flood you from the outside in he floods you from the inside out from a spirit to soul to body and so as this flood begins to happen from deep within the waters begin to overflow into your soul and your anger becomes patience your fear becomes peace your lust becomes holiness darkness becomes light bondage becomes freedom because as the flood water is moving through it's breaking through and the flood is overflowing and then what happens is the flood begins to come over into your physical body and you begin to talk differently you may get your eyes begin to go places where they should be going your feet begin to walk places where you should be walking your hands that used to sin now carry the very power of God and where once they might have inflicted pain they can now heal the sick God will take what you give him the Holy Spirit fill what is empty he cannot feel you if you're full of yourself this is the emptying that happens as the flood happens from deep within I die daily and as that flood goes over me it drowns the old man that's where we get the water baptism it's symbolic for what's happening on the inside all right we're gonna be going back to Lawndale California in just a moment but first it's time for our mark 16 miracles segment this is where we take do you want do you want to be well of that I saw it on you right when you walked up yeah but if you want to be well that I'll pray for you right now oh geez I'm on my knees every morning and every night well all places Christ is my Lord and Savior absolutely yeah yeah absolutely but they're seen have been tormenting your minds cause if you go like this and do you want that time just ask you do want that to go yeah cuz also it chokes you up in your breathing sometimes and also your ear your knee right here gamez has strike that so I'm gonna stand right there okay father God in Jesus name I want to first start with her head Lord I just cover her in your blood she loves you Holy Spirit I pray your kingdom to come Holy Spirit come upon her right now in Jesus I the kingdom of God come upon her right now and ask for a wind to come in the natural I start coming around her head when I was praying for full bloom deliverance from all which graphic cursed every day I speak blessing over he right now and I command healing into your right and me right now in Jesus name I command healing underneath your kneecap and strength and then all through back the back of your spine all the way up and I pray the blessing of God right now I break the power of the spirit of firmly in affliction of pain to go on your sinus I pray for healing right now to open up in Jesus name of your nose you know problem heaviness go and pray for the fire of God being to come down Jesus cells ones blowing around you know and I pain in your lower right side of your backwards side like I pray for healing and there right now there it is but go ahead and take a deep breath move around now take a deep breath and look around what's that you can well you felt chills going through you hit everything yeah the sinuses and the knees every single thing wrong with you got hit sinus knees right Jenner of dis disease yeah it's just God loves you and what happened is his kingdom just came upon you by the power of the Holy Spirit and God to salvation so you were forgiven but he just brought deliverance and healing and so now God wants to or joy tune even whatsis and God can do the same with you here's my let's go now back to Lawndale California where I'm continuing this teaching on the language of the Holy Spirit watch this something amazing happens with this gift called speaking in tongues oh I've been the Lord put this on my heart I tell you I could I literally have and I'm not saying this to sound impressive this is true and it's true of all of us we could all preach a sermon on the Holy Spirit every weekend for the rest of our lives and we'd never run out of material that's the reality but when I was praying about tonight or this morning the Lord told me to talk about the language of the Holy Spirit the language of speaking in tongues you know police have their lingo that help them get things done quicker military has their lingo that helps them get things done quicker the medical field they have a Lingle that helps them get things done quicker we have a lingo that helps us get things done quicker when we're praying in tongues first Corinthians chapter 14 verse 2 says when I'm praying in tongues no one understands me from speaking to God and not to man 1st Corinthians chapter 12 verse 4 tells us that when you're speaking in tongues you're edifying enlightening building strengthening yourself when I pray in tongues I'm giving the Holy Spirit words to use here's how it works every book written in English uses only 26 letters I want you to think about that every poem your Bible every book you've ever read in English 26 letters yet the author can take those 26 letters and he can form and he can fashion masterpieces from those 26 letters when you pray in tongues you're giving the Holy Spirit syllables and sounds with which he can work the Holy Spirit is the gentleman he's classy III don't care what anybody says the Holy Spirit is classy he's not gonna come grab you and force you to speak in tongues it is the language of faith it is the language of surrender they'll only feel what is empty when you speak with your language your speaking words and you are intentionally attaching your own purposes to those SEL syllables and sounds you're giving those words meaning yourself but when you pray in tongues you're giving him syllables and sounds with which come no meaning you remove the meaning from them you speak them in faith and you say Holy Spirit add what you want to add to that speak that language and the Holy Spirit takes those words and he begins to pray spirit to spirit for you in places that you didn't even know existed within your heart imagine I mean people come from from all over the world to these type of events they tell different preachers lay hands on me lay hands on me lay hands on me the Holy Spirit Himself wants to lay hands on you but you have to surrender when you pray in tongues you say Holy Spirit pray for me it's as if he's saying I would pray for you myself if you just gave me a mouth you know it's funny about the Holy Spirit when you talk about him he he shows up I mean as when I said that I smile because III I sense that familiar how many you sense the atmosphere shifting in this place the Holy Spirit he's doing what he does and so this type of surrender as we begin to speak these things really there are three different types of tongues I'm gonna give them to you real quickly there's the personal tongue first Corinthians chapter writing notes first Corinthians chapter 14 verse 1 through 4 this is what comes from within and it edifies yourself that's the personal tongue then there is the proof tongue as you see in Acts chapter 2 verse 6 where the scripture says that each one heard them in their own language this is not an earthly dialect guys it says that each individual person heard the collective speaking in their own language all at once this is the proof this is where the scripture says that the unbelievers will come in they'll hear it and they'll say oh my goodness God is among you that also works with prophecy the second or the third is the prophetic tongue which is first Corinthians chapter 14 verse 26 through 28 but the way you find this gift the way you surrender to the whole it really is simple and people often ask well how do you know that what you're receiving is from God and not you know from the devil the other guy and they're sincere and there's let me tell you I know we're afraid of the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit but there is nothing wrong with asking very sincere questions because the most sincere questions often yield the deepest answers jesus said when you ask your father for bread he's not going to give you a stone if you ask him for a fish he's not going to give you a serpent or scorpion we trust that what we have received this of God not because of our ability to pray for it because of God's intrinsic goodness we trust not in our ability to communicate with him but we trust that every good gift comes from above alright we're gonna go back to Lawndale California in just a moment but first it's time for our moment of truth segment this is where I take your questions to do my very best to present a biblical answer to them the question for this episode is they're speaking in tongues for every believer we're gonna go right into Acts chapter 2 verse number 2 through 6 to answer this question take a look at what the scripture says here and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them and they were all full with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance and there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews devout men out of every nation under heaven now when this was noised abroad the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in his own language so before I begin to address the specific question I do want to make mention to something to which I alluded inside of my message that you were listening to their ad to Lawndale California now some would say that the gift of speaking in tongues is an earthly dialect but we know that that cannot be true because 1st Corinthians chapter 12 verse 2 tells us that no one can understand the one who speaks in tongues for he's speaking to himself and and to God and he doesn't even understand what he's saying but in verse 4 it tells us that he's edified that by that every same thing he does not understand because it is a spiritual thing now you'll notice in this portion of Scripture that the scripture starts by saying that they began to speak with other tongues and appeared unto them cloven tongues and they begin to speak as a Spirit gave them utterance in other tongues and it wasn't until the end of verse six that the scripture says that each man who was gathered there heard the collective of the believers speaking in his own language so what we can gather from that is that the collective was speaking in tongues a heavenly dialect and each individual miraculously heard that collective speaking in his own language it's not that the entire collective could have been speaking every language anyway but what they were speaking was something supernatural empowered by God so that when it when it arrived at the ears of the hearers they heard their own earthly dialects now Peter later in this chapter stands up and begins to boldly declare what's happening here he begins to describe what's happening in the spirit that they're witnessing he alludes to some prophecy and Joel and then he talks about how this is the fulfillment and then he calls this gift the infilling of the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues the fire of God he encapsulate that with the term of the promise of the Father Peter says that this promise of the father was something was something that was promised long ago and it was given for each of the believers now Peter in his sermon there in front of everybody tells us two descriptions of the gift that God had given two descriptions of the father it was number one for according to acts chapter 2 verse 39 it was for all who have been called who has been called it's talking about every believer all the believers have been called by God every believer no one no one can be saved the scripture said unless the father draws him so God calls to them and when they respond to that call when they respond to the free gift of salvation they become believers so number one the promise of the father is for all who have been called so it's for every believer now some would say well that's just talking about the Holy Spirit but Peter just before he mentions that it's for all who have been called he also adds this one description the gift of tongues here is described as just as you see and here today according to Acts chapter 2 verse 33 so number one the promise of the Father is for all who have been called for every believer he even goes on to say that that your sons and your daughters shall prophesy while everyone is a son and daughter of some one otherwise they wouldn't be here on this earth so prophecy is really for every believer but more importantly as to specify with this question just as you see and hear today what did they see and what did they hear all who have been called what does Peter describe this promise as what the people saw and heard what did the people see in here the people saw the fire of the Holy Spirit the people heard the believers speaking in tongues Jesus actually said in mark chapter 16 verse 17 through 18 it says this and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out Devils they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover so what does Peter mean or what does Paul the Apostle mean when he talks about do all have gifts of healing in 1st Corinthians chapter 12 while he's talking about the public expression of ministry as he was talking about with the various gifts because good just after that in that same verse she says do all have gifts of interpretation so he's talking about in that context the public use of the gift of tongues what we see according to the book of Acts that it is the promise of the Father for every believer I want you after hearing what the scripture says I know maybe mentally you've been told something else I know maybe your denomination has taught you something else I know according to your church culture you've been taught something else but what the scripture says that's what takes precedence that's what has final say and so I'm asking you would you want to settle for any less than what for Christ died to give you would you want to settle for any less then all that God wants to give and that is your moment of truth let's go back now to Lawndale California while I'm wrapping up this message on the language of the Holy Spirit if you say father in Jesus name I ask for the in feeling of the holy spirit and I can see the hunger coming to life in your faces right now and I thank God for it you say God I want that gift that empowers me to do the work of the gospel you know how when you're on your phone and your battery starts to die so you use it less and you lower your brightness that's Christianity without the Holy Spirit because you're running on your own source so you have to lower the light that shines every now and then when you plug in to the Holy Spirit that's eternal power and you don't have to worry about lowering the brightness it really is simple but that doesn't mean it's easy I'll use this one more point and I want to pray for you the way you enter the realm of the Spirit is through quietness noise does not equal power I've seen some people they're crying God please God please and and nothing because they're trying to get an action out of God because of their emotion instead of the spirit communication that's like when people scream at you when the cell phone connection is cutting out it's not the volume it's the connection that's the problem we need to get our connection with God going and then the volume is just fine I love phones they're great analogy yeah you do that by silence and stillness the scripture says be still and know that I am God we still annoy your struggles no be still it and know your shortcomings no it's amazing how we come as beggars when we're sons we said God please God please hear me hear me Jesus started with our Father who art in heaven he started with knowing his identity he started with knowing that the connection was there imagine how much time you'd save in prayer if instead of begging God to hear you you believed he already did move past the begging you're a son of God we sing I pray that you were blessed while watching the closing of that sermon on the language of the Holy Spirit I want to talk to you and I want to pray with you right now maybe you've been watching that and something in your heart has been stirring and something within you has been drawn to that gift and as I was talking about it your desire for the gift has grown but there still might be a mental barrier an emotional barrier maybe you've been taught a certain way maybe you've grown up in a certain church culture that somewhat looks down upon such a beautiful expression of the Holy Spirit well it's no accident that you're watching today and it's no it's no coincidence that you're feeling what you're feeling in this very moment that I'm talking to you about this very gift you're watching right now and you know God is drawing you and calling you to something greater some greater depth it's time to stop drinking from the river and it's time to dive in it's time to stop compartmentalizing your spirituality to the places where you are only comfortable it's time to fall back on every promise of God it's time to fall back in trust on the word of God and say father I want everything that you have for me I'm tired of holding back I'm tired of being reserved I'm tired of couple apart mentalizing I'm tired of trying to explain it away in my mind because I know that the Holy Spirit is speaking to me right now and you know he is you know he's calling you and you want to take place in that celestial conversation that takes place in the heavenly realms you want to participate in the greater depths of the Spirit and you want to spirit to spirit and communicate with God and let him draw you in to know him draw you in to come to understand him in greater ways and connect with him and know him and draw closer to him than you thought and then you ever thought possible than you ever could imagine God wants to draw you in right now let's pray and let's believe God to fill you a father in Jesus name father I rebuke every lie of the enemy that would prevent them from opening up to the gift that you have for them father I come against every stronghold of the enemy that would make them reserved and that would that would cause them to to disrupt what you want to do in them father I pray for a full impartation of the gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues I pray for every believer now watching who does not have that gift fill them with that gift we ask for it in the name of Jesus amen well as I referenced you before you asked for bread he's not going to give you a stone you asked Jesus for the Holy Spirit he's not going to send another spirit of any kind so never let anyone tell you that what you received here today was not of God now you may in your mind say well I didn't feel anything while we prayed it doesn't matter you see that by faith you receive
