/u/Doug-DeMuro - the interior trim center console "different take" is supposed to be a window to the battery. Unlike the Tesla (and basically every other EV now) with a battery in the floor, Fisker designed it into the center tunnel which is why it's so huge for an EV. They wanted to show off the battery so it's visible through a window.
I used to sell these. AVOID them. There are only a few service shops in the country. When something breaks (something will and itβs always different) your car will be in the shop for weeks, if not months, as the shop looks for a replacement part.
I had one. Fantastic car to drive, but Fisker is a crook. When the company was no longer solvent he put out a firmware update to destroy the main battery and turn the car into a slower gas car with terrible efficiency and an awful sounding engine that wasn't even connected to the wheels. And the exhaust was placed to perfectly stink up the interior if you roll the window down.
If the battery is in shape, they're great drivers. I hear the new Karma might even upgrade the infotainment system - if true do it. Fisker's IT department was a one man Dennis Nedry show, that's the only way to describe how bad it was and how it could have sent out a malicious destructive update on purpose.
Don't touch one of those things with a 100 foot pole. Beautiful to look at and It's one of the best highway cars I have ever driven but if you ever need to fix something other than the GM Ecotec engine and you need parts, YOU. ARE. FUCKED. You need 2 of these things to keep one on the road and even then the water pumps WILL leak and all those fittings are proprietary. Think how bad DeLorean parts scarcity was 20 years ago but now just think they made almost 4 times as many DeLoreans than they made Fisker Karmas. And at least DeLorean owners had a backup warehouses full of parts and a very small but very good lot of independent repair shops. Hell you could bring a DeLorean to a Jiffy Lube and they'd probably be able to do whatever you needed done to one. Nobody wants to touch a Karma. And why would they? Everything is over-engineered. Did you know there are 14 bolts that hold the wheel well liner in place? WHY?!! WHAT WAS WRONG WITH PLASTIC RIVETS LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE MADE IN THE PAST 30 YEARS?!!?!?
Oh man I've wanted Doug or Mr Regular to review this thing for so long.
Tragic it was such a flawed car, as it imo was the best looking sedan of the 2010s, period.
Fun fact about these: almost everything in the interior is recycled.
The interior of that one looks horrible. There's one on Pistonheads in the UK ($40,000 made me curious enough to look, but no, this one's up for Β£60,000)
Looks much nicer though (Imgur Album)

As much as I dislike fake noise on cars, the sound they chose sounds cool as hell.
Doug has a weird taste when it comes to 4 door cars styling. This and the mk5 quattroporte are two of the best looking 4 doors ever
