The Easiest, Simplest and Oldest Way To Find Arrowheads!

do what now we almost had a live find look at the truck look the truck and i stuck my stick in the ground and almost hit it oh it's a beautiful point [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] hey folks spike here with heartbreaker relics from time to time i'll get an invitation to go uh hunt airheads with somebody because they know i'm retired i'm an awful work and and i usually don't go i don't like to go without randy but uh i had a call this morning matthew called me he had some fields that he wanted to walk and he could take one person with him and uh since i was off and i decided to go and take him up on it and i'm glad i did uh we had a pretty good day i you as you'll see in the video but walking fields is one of my favorite ways to find arrowheads and we just don't have the fields anymore our permissions over in louisiana they don't plow they scratch these fields were cut deep and uh some of them you'll see some some people beat us there but we still did good we had a pretty good day but uh while we're up there matthew wanted to show me uh the indian mound out in the middle of the field and so we drove out there and walked up on top of the indian mound it's uh uh there there's a cemetery up there and there's a confederate soldier that spared there he didn't get killed in the civil war he lived for a good while after the war but uh we walked up there and looked around shot a little video and then and we went on to some of the fields that uh we could then hunt and it turned out to be a pretty good day so come along with us unless uh let's see what we did oh so that's the one with the with the with the cemetery on top of it the one that's pointing along in here yeah yeah okay all right we got to show this we got a matthew tell them tell them what this is well all the old-timers around here they say it's an indian mound well it's got to be it's sitting out here in the middle of this flat but up on the top there's a cemetery it has been manipulated over the years with farmers around it and everything because yeah we're not going to manipulate it we're just going to drive around it's got i think we all told me one of them's a confederate soldier or something up there walk up there yeah let's do okay this wind's going to be bad not going to be able to hear but you should yeah will had come up here and looked i believe [Music] 1860. 1902 [Music] hey everybody spike here with heartbreaker relics i'm up here today with the mad moxen himself mr matthew sullivan and we've been walking this field for about an hour it's an undisclosed location but anyway i we hadn't found anything but a bunch of flakes and i was coming right back this highly concentrated area to go pick up my bags i didn't want to carry it all around i put it down and i got out here in this muddy spot with these these spots are hard to hard to hunt anyway and there was a bunch of rocks piled up right there and a piece of broken glass in one pile and i stopped to investigate and i picked up this tool lay in there it had been worked i started looking around and i saw something sticking out of the dirt just the edge of it and i flipped it over with my stick and look what we got let me see is that thing running yeah all right look i'm not going to pick it up till matthew gets here heck yeah i'll take that appears to be a gary point i'm not sure what kind but matthew said he said i know there's one out here there's a bunch of rocks right there and a piece of glass and it was all covered up with that gray stuff and i stopped to investigate it and found this tool right there and no and it was the edge of it was sticking out yeah that's a tool yeah i'm going to keep it and i already touched it so you can recover it for me if you want no i hadn't touched it there you go oh goodness gracious look at the workmanship on that she's got a side inside b yeah heck yeah go in my case oh it's going in mine heck yeah i just saw the edge of it sticking up and flipped it with my stick and it rolled out should have filmed it but anyway how about a fist bump on that boom yeah we said right in here we found more flakes than we had anywhere else in this field said it had to be here yeah and i told spike a while ago but he's never been with me that he hasn't found one whole point or somebody's found one whole point yeah that's it we got one but we're just getting started we're just getting started all right y'all stay with us out here walking this field it occurred to me is a lot of people a lot of you like information and so i decided i'd give you some information now this is not this is just my way of doing things you have your own way when you walk in a field especially for the first time in a field that's this big you stop and think one edge of that field is usually one a wood line and the reason for that is if they if the ground was any good to use this pasture more than likely they would have cleared it before unless it belongs to somebody else then they wouldn't have cleared it but always check the wood line make sure that it's a bottom if it's a bottom or if it's a creek at one time if it's a bottom it may be wet now if it's wet now at one time it may have been winter it may have been the beavers may have had it dammed up that may have been a flooded area out there but if it's on that edge is on a creek what i always do i like to walk the edge until i start finding signs like chips and flakes depot and when i find any i start to slow down look branch out see how far out in the field it goes see if there's a little rise i don't know if you can tell it there's a little rise right there but there was a few flakes but not a lot but that's that's that's the way i do because i hadn't had the opportunity to walk and you feel them forever this is not new to matthew he's walked it before but uh i'm just coming along here doing investigating on my own and that's what i'm doing i'm looking for something along this wood line along this bottom here that tells me at one time they may have been a camp here that would that one that thing i'm looking for is chips and plates like right here there's a flake right there right by matthew's footing he probably saw it too but anyway i just thought i'd share i just thought i'd share that with you i find something i'll show you all right we changed fields and uh matthew says we hadn't been in here five minutes we just walked away from the truck he said he's got a point unless his eyes are playing tricks on it ten or eight feet from it see it right there yeah listen all right heck yeah oh it looks like a honky train maybe a bradley spike huh i don't know i like bradley spikes no that might be a poncho trainer that's a fine point matthew dear fist bump bump heck yeah go ahead you ready yeah recovery look at that oh wow that's a good heck yeah man surface fine all right man look at that heck yeah yeah i believe that's poncho train canada oh yeah what did i say it was a bunch train from way over there heck yeah get around this i'm telling you the river the river's right there so if i was going to be an indian i'd live [Music] i don't know if these have hatched or if something got them it looked like they hatched turtle eggs what's that alive got a live dig there's another one they tasted turtle eggs all out here matthew's got something here scraper or something let's see what he's got yeah yeah these tri said turtle that's two turtle nests i've seen turtle back scraper i don't know let's pull it out of the ground and let's see might be a it's a drawer point is it some kind of tool a drill they needed it for something you know yeah it's worked flint church day back four right in here yeah i've been back and forth down there in the shade [Music] crows after that halt [Music] spike is a long way off and i don't think you can walk back over here to where i am because it's a long walk but i just found a real pretty point and i haven't touched it yet so let's check it out what you got i found uh it's kind of a crude one but it's a point one he made a hand drop give me a hand drop oh yeah it is crude but it's a point that is a point yeah it counts as a point i'd be tickled to death with that where's your other one you can't see yet [Laughter] hold on just like that get it out oh now that's fine there bud hot dog look how thin pretty point yeah it's beautiful look at the colors in that thing man that's awesome give me a bump bump bump here let me find more than that [Laughter] show me all where matthew a virgin spot huh well i say it's virgin i've walked here a time or two oh well that ain't a virgin man you know what a virgin is it's almost a virgin then huh found a foul oh yeah you
