now last week I talked about the doctrine of free will and this morning I want to continue on with the same subject except this time I want the sermon to be more applicational you see if you don't understand how the doctrine of free will applies to real-life situations you're going to get frustrated with God and you're going to question your faith and you possibly might even stop coming to church so it's imperative that you know how this doctrine applies to everyday situations but first let me do a quick review let me tell you what we cover last week if you remember I begin last week's sermon by illustrating the difference between man and animals according to the Bible man is made in the image of God that means that man is a personal rational sovereign being now when I say personal I mean that man has emotions morals and values we refer to that as personality and as I said I know many of you pet lovers they will my dog has personality well they might have emotions they might have a certain temperament but they don't have morals and values all right when I say rational I mean that man has the ability reason that's why God tells us to come and reason with him look at the first part of Isaiah chapter 1 verse 18 notice what it says come and let us reason together saith the Lord now God doesn't say that to animals why because they are not rational beings they don't have the ability to reason now when I say that man is sovereign I mean that man has the ability to make his own choices and decisions independent of others that's why Joshua told the Israelites to choose whom they would serve they had seen God do all of these miracles he had miraculously delivered them from Egypt the bondage of slavery he was going to bring them into the promised land but they didn't have enough faith so they wondered around in the wilderness for 40 years God had to supernaturally supply water and food they saw all of these things and now they're getting ready to go into the Promised Land and Joshua gives them this choice notice what it says in Joshua chapter 24 verse 15 this is at the end of his life he says and if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord choose you this day whom you will serve whether the gods which your father's served that we're on the other side of the flood or the gods of the amorite sin whose land ye dwell but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord Joshua understood something he understood that he was responsible for his own actions because he had the ability to choose and he was going to make his own choices but he also realized that he couldn't force other people to choose the same thing as him so I said it's up to you you choose and again the reason he told them to choose is because they had the ability to make their own choices and decisions now because man possesses these three characteristics personality rationality and sovereignty man has what theologians refer to as a free will which simply means that man has the freedom and ability to make his own choices and decisions on the other hand the Bible describes animals as natural brute beasts look at Jude chapter 1 verse number 10 notice what it says but these speak evil of those things which they know not but what they know naturally as brute beasts and those things they corrupt themselves now the word naturally is translated from the Greek word foo sea-coast and it literally means instincts or instinctively brute is translated from the Greek word alla Goss and it means irrational and beast is translated from the Greek words o on which refers to creatures so animals are described as instinctive irrational creatures so as you can see there's a huge difference between man and animals and the difference is this animals are instinctive creatures that are unable to reason in other words they don't respond to situations in circumstances logically they respond instinctively now that's not to say that animals can't be trained they can be trained but that's called conditioning you're not training them to think you're not training them to reason logically you're training them to respond instinctively to a specific stimulus through conditioning man on the other hand has the ability to reason he has the ability to take facts and to reason and logic draw conclusion and based on that conclusion make a choice or decision the ability to do that is what gives man a free will now listen to me man and only man has a free will that's why god holds man accountable for his actions remember what responsible means responsible is a compound word that's made up of two words response and able when you combine those two words it literally means able to choose the right response now think about this man has the ability to choose the right response because he has the ability to reason logically he might be emotional he might have his anger rising to the top but if he'll step back and think he has the ability to control that he has the ability to reason logically and because he has that ability god holds man responsible for his own actions animals on the other hand don't possess a free will they don't make choices and decisions based on reasoning and logic instead they react to circumstances and situations according to their instincts and conditioning that's why there is no judgment seat for animals where God is going to hold them responsible for everything they've done on this earth some of you think that I know I have burst a lot of people's bubbles like to do this but the dog that you love so much he didn't go to heaven when he died I'm sorry there is no dog heaven there's not gonna be a judgement seat where the dogs come before God and God says spot I want you to know your owners didn't have you neutered but that didn't give you any right to be able to mount the other dogs in the neighborhood when they were in eat not only that when you did that without without asking their consent you didn't hang around to raise those puppies you let those momma's of single parents now God is not going to do that to animals because Mecca because animals do not have a free will they don't have the ability to reason and use logic to draw certain conclusions and based on those conclusions make a decision or a choice but the bottom line is this man is not an animal man has the ability to choose how he will respond to circumstances and situations in his life and that's why God holds us responsible for all of the things that we're doing now and will do in the future on this earth look at 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse number 10 and you'll see what I'm talking about for we must all stand before Christ to be judged we will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body God is going to hold us responsible why because he has made us in His image and that means that we are a personal rational sovereign being and as a result of those three characteristics we possess what theologians refer to as a free will we have the ability to choose and decide how we will act and how we will respond in every situation and circumstance in life yeah now how does the doctrine of free will apply to everyday life well let's look at two different scenarios and how this doctrine applies to them if you're English it's senarios but anyways here's the first scenario suppose that you're praying for someone to be saved how does the doctrine of free will affect the way you pray and can you pray with confidence that your prayers will be answered and that person will be saved can you won't turn with me to first John chapter five we're gonna read verses 14 and 15 and we're gonna find out notice what it says now this is the confidence that we have in him how many of you have confidence in God well you do if you know certain things but other areas you might not have confidence in God how can we have confidence in God we'll let's keep reading this is the confidence that we have in God that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us and if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of him now let me ask you a question is it God's will that everyone be saved well of course it is unless you're a Calvinist we're not Calvinists because of what the Scriptures teach notice what it says in 2nd Peter chapter 3 verse 9 the Lord is not slack concerning his promise as some count slackness but is long-suffering towards us not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance so as you can see it's God's will that everyone be saved God doesn't want anyone to perish he wants everyone to repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ so if that's the case will everyone be saved that we pray for now why not because man has a free will and God will not violate men's free will so how does the doctrine of free will affect 1st John chapter 5 verses 14 and 15 we'll turn back to that verse let's read it again let's find out notice what it says now this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us and if we know that he hears us whatsoever we ask we know that we have the petitions that we have asked to them so is it God's will for everyone to be saved yes so according to 1st John chapter 5 verses 14 and 15 can we pray for someone to be saved and it'll happen no no why again man has a free will so we have to go a little bit deeper and we have to ask another question is it God's will to force a person to be saved that's a whole different question isn't it is it God's will to force a person to be saved and the answer is will no it is not God's will to force a person to be saved because that would violate man's free will so how do I pray using first John chapter 5 verses 14 and 15 well I begin by knowing what God's will is God's will is that a person makes the choice of his own free will to be saved so God won't force them to be saved but he will convict them to be saved and God will even go a step further he'll use people to soften in the heart and hair loss of you circumstances and situations to get them to a place where they need God's help and where they want to call out to him but the bottom line is this though I can't pray that God will force someone to be saved I can pray that God will convict them to be saved and I can have every confidence that God will do everything in his power to bring a person to salvation up and to the point of forcing them to be saved that's where God draws the line so when I'm praying for someone to be saved I realize that as God's will for them to voluntarily make Jesus Lord of their lives to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior so what I want to do is I want to pray that God's gonna do everything he can to convict them of their sin to convict them that Jesus is Lord needs to be Lord of their life and to bring across their path people who's going to share the gospel with them in fact let's go a little bit deeper let me show you how God deals with the hearts of men because if you don't understand how God deals with the hearts of men this is going to cause a lot of problems in your life as you're praying for people so let me show you how God deals with the hearts of men turn with me if you would to the book of Proverbs chapter 21 verse number one if I were you I would underline this verse in your Bible I would highlight it and I would write out in the margin Bible this is how God deals with the hearts of men because this verse tells us how God turns the hearts of men towards him so notice what it says the king's heart is like a river in fact you could probably put in there any man's heart the reasonings using the Kings heart is because usually it's the king that's in control of everything and you want to make sure that they have a heart towards God and God wants you to understand that he has the ability to change hearts but here's what I want you to see he says the heart is like a river in the hand of the Lord he turns it wherever he wishes now this proverb is what is known as a simile everyone knows what a simile is right assembly is a figure of speech that makes a comparison showing similarities between two different things in fact the word simile comes from the Latin word similes which means similar so in proverbs chapter 21 verse 1 solomon's comparing a human art to a river in order to illustrate that the way God changes a person's heart is similar to the way he changes the course of a river is everyone with me if everyone understand what proverbs 21 1 is saying if you're taking notes write it this down proverbs 21 1 tells us that the way God changes a person's heart is similar to the way that he changes the course of a river so to understand how God changes a person's heart we need to understand how the course of a river has changed because they're both changed in a similar way so let me give you three facts about rivers changing courses number 1 a river can change its course slowly over a long period of time or it can change its course quickly and dramatically as the result of a major flood and that's true when it comes to the hearts of men some hearts are slowly changed over time and others are changed quickly and dramatically as the result of a major event number two the greatest factor in changing the course of a river is flooding minor floods over a period of time will eventually change the course of a river but a major flood will change the course of a river quickly and dramatically but whether it's a series of minor floods or one major flood flooding is the greatest factor in changing the course of a river and when we pray for a person's heart to change releases a flood of Christians to cross their paths and to speak into their life and to share the gospel with them and he also releases the flood of little events that occur in their life to point them to God or to point them to him along with the flood of bad things that brings them to a point where they need God and they cry out to God now let me make an important point here God does not cause the bad things to happen that do happen but he allows them to happen this is what theologians refer to as the Jobe principle God did not bring those things upon Jobe but he allowed Satan to do certain things we're gonna get a little bit more into the joke principle this morning but I want you to understand something when we start praying for a person for God to change their heart to bring them to the Lord three things begin to take place number one we're praying that God will bring people across their paths who will share the gospel and speak into their life right yeah number two we want little events to begin to take place the point to God where this happens think man that must have been God wow I turned on the TV and there was a preacher speaking and I know I did not leave it on that channel I left it on Fox News not CNN yeah and then also he begins to allow certain bad things to happen and we're gonna find out in just a second because this brings us to point number three or fact number three here's fact number three rivers don't change their course in the mountains they changed their course in the valleys let me say that again because this is a fact rivers do not change their course in the mountains they changed their course in the valleys does anyone know why that is it's because mountains are formed from rock and the flood rock waters might card into the rocks but they don't move the rock but valleys are soft soil so when a flood comes it moves the soil very easily so rivers change course in the valleys not in the mountains and people it's the very same way in a person's heart when things are good and everything is going the way that we want them to I mean the money is good the relationships are good you know we can do whatever we want we're on the mountaintop and guess what we don't need God and it doesn't matter how many Christians cross our paths and speak intern lives and share the gospel of Jesus Christ and it doesn't matter how many little events occur that point towards God our heart is like a rock and it's not changing conviction does not move us but when we hit those low points in our life the valleys our heart becomes soft and when God pours out a flood of Christians to cross our paths and all of these events start occurring that point to God and it seems like everything I do turns to crap and God allows it doesn't cause it it's at that point I need God and I cry out to God and conviction moves me and lo and behold my heart has changed I moved so listen to me when you're praying for someone to be saved you have to realize that God is going to have to change their heart so you want to pray that God is going to release a flood of people to cross their paths you will witness to them and share the gospel with them and you want to pray that God will release a flood of little events that are always pointing to him and if necessary because sometimes it's not necessary sometimes those two things will do it because they already had a soft heart if their hearts like rock then if necessary you pray that God would allow a flood of things that would humble them and cause them to need God and to cry out to God because sometimes that's what it takes to change a person's heart they have to hit rock bottom some of you are sitting here because you had a problem maybe with drugs or alcohol and it took hitting rock bottom for you to realize that's not the kind of life you wanted and God was able to speak into your life and you were able to get saved and God was able to supernaturally deliver you and to this day you look back and you realize if it hadn't been for hitting rock bottom you wouldn't be in church today some of you had to lose your finances some of you had to come to a point where everything seemed to be gone before you started listening to God because when you were in the mountaintop you didn't listen I'm gonna be honest with you we can trust God that God is never going to take someone down further than they need to go in order for their heart to be changed but how far a person needs to go down depends upon that person you know I think the reason my mom hung on to life so long how skinny she got but she looked like a cancer patient at the end but I think the reason she got down to that way just because someone had prophesied that she would lead it live to see the person she was praying for not only say but serving the Lord and actually preaching the gospel so she didn't want to die because you've been praying for this person but I'll tell you what's kind of interesting her and her friends were praying for their loved ones but one of the things that they refused to do was take God whatever it takes you see we think that living here on this earth is everything and I'm here to tell you this little period of time that we live on this earth is nothing compared to eternity and sometimes we're praying for someone we are not willing to allow them to go to the depths necessary to get their heart to the place where they will receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and we are the ones that are keeping God from allowing those things to happen let me tell you what I've told my girls you better serve Jesus Christ because if you don't serve Jesus Christ I will be praying for you I will be releasing the Holy Spirit to hound you from heaven I will pray for events to occur in your life that will point to God and if necessary I'll tell God you take him as low as they need to be so that they need you and they cry out to you because I recognize and realize they compared to Eternity this life is nothing now do I want my kids to have to do that no but I would rather that take place than to spend eternity without my kids and my kids know me I'll do it now let me give you two scriptures to illustrate what I'm talking about look with me if you would in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 8 verses 10 through 14 this is talking about the mountaintops let me explain something about truth this is what liberals don't get if it's true it never changes truth is truth the reason Solomon could write the book of Proverbs sometime around the year 1991 BC is because what he was writing had to do with human nature and human nature doesn't change neither does truth so we're taking those very principles that are taught in the book of Proverbs and we're applying them today we're taking examples from the Old Testament things that were written as much as fourteen fifteen hundred years before Christ and were able to apply them to a life do you want to know why because truth never changes and not only that human nature never changes and because human nature doesn't change there are certain things we need to understand and he's going to give us a little bit of understanding here in the book of Deuteronomy because he says I'm gonna bring you into the promised land and when I get you in the promised land you're gonna have all of this great land you're going to be able to reap grapes from vineyards you didn't plant you're going to be able to recruit plants you didn't from seeds you didn't so you're going to in houses that you didn't even build and when everything is going good you better beware why because of human nature look at Deuteronomy chapter 8 verses 10 through 14 when you have eaten your field be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you but that is the time to be careful beware that in your plenty your time of prosperity you do not forget to Lord your God and disobey his commands regulations and decrees in other words don't you forget God and stop living according to the Bible and it goes further from when you have become full and prosperous and that built fine homes to live in and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and your gold have multiplied alone with everything else be careful do not become proud at that time look what I've done and forget to look at your God who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt in other words when you're on the mountaintop in your life and everything is going great and pride begins to rise up and you look look at what I've done be careful because that's when it's human nature to forget God and our heart becomes hard towards him it can't be moved we stopped living by his commands his degrees his decrees his regulations oh yeah you see for the majority of people we come to Jesus Christ either as a child or young adult anyone know why it's because when we're a child our heart is soft and we have that ability that all men have free will and so we have the ability to reason and have logic so we present the gospel to children their heart is still soft and they hear it does anyone want to go to hell no does everyone want to go to heaven yes we don't get to go to heaven because of her sin last week said Jesus cross swords I do you want to accept Jesus and every kid goes yes there's a few that don't and the older we get the more hardened we become and if we do very well we could become very successful we get very successful it's kinda like I don't need God I want to do my own thing I want to live the way that I want to live I want to run with the type of friends I want to run with I want to do what I want to do I want to do what God tells me to do and it's really gonna take something knocking us off of our pedestal bringing us from the mountaintop to the valley for us to say I want Jesus yeah now let me show you another scripture that kind of talks about human nature it deals with what I'm talking about look with me if you would in first Corinthians chapter five verse five interesting scripture because this gives us insight into the Jobe principle hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord now let me give you a little background information because I don't want to take this out of context at first Corinthians chapter 5 of course first corinthians they're writing to paul and they're asking him certain questions and what 1st corinthians is it's actually answers to the questions that they've asked and here's one of the questions they had a man that was committing incest with his mother and you had half of the church that said that's not right we need to do something about this and the other half said you know jesus christ gives us grace there's no big deal and so many of them got puffed up and said look how loving we are look at the mercy weeks didn't look at the grace that we have and so they allowed this man to continue to fellowship and so when they asked this question they said Paul should we do this and Paul said no way and then he said this hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord so in essence what Paul was telling the Corinthians was to let him hit rock bottom so his soul will be saved on the day of the Lord now I want you to understand something he didn't say turn him over to God why God doesn't do bad things he said turn him over to segment show principal and then he said for the destruction of the flesh now this could be sickness but it could be a variety of things destruction of the flesh to get away material possessions it could mean sickness it could mean just bad things happening but here's what Paul is saying Paul says turn him over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh you excommunicate him and you pray God allow whatever is necessary to take place that will bring conviction in his art so that he'll repent now you know it's kind of interesting they ended up following Paul's advice and when you get to the book of second Corinthians now he has to tell them hey now guys he's repented for his yeah yeah but here's the interesting thing Paul said you pray for him to hit rock bottom and people that's hard to do very hard to do especially when it's your children but here's the confidence that you can have God is a good god and he is not going to take them any further than he has to do to get them to the point where their repent that's the confidence I have first John chapter 5 verses 14 and 15 this is the confidence that I have in him that if I ask anything according to his will he hears me and if he hears me that I have the petitions of the ass for me God don't take my kids any further than you have to but Lord I want them saved if you do what you have to you turn him over to turning them over to Satan if you have to you allow him to do work in their life so that they get to the point where they need you and they cry out to you but God don't take them any further than you have to the doctrine of free will sometimes is the tough doctrine because you see what we do we take first John chapter 5 verses 14 and 15 and we say God force them to be saved and God says I can't do that God let me say God says I can't do that why because I created man in my image I made him a personal rational sovereign being and as a result he has a free will and I will not violate that he wants your children to be he say more than you want them to be saved he wants your loved ones to come to him more than you want them to come to him and he'll do everything in his power but sometimes we tie God's hands because there are certain things that we don't want well we don't want them to have to go to jail we don't want them to lose everything you know it's kind of interesting I've seen men I'm sorry I'm just going off on my own thing you guys don't mind do you no if you do I'm still going dude I've seen men whose wives could not get them to come to church they were so hardened and really I'll be honest with you sometimes their wives would introduce me to them maybe out in public and you could even see a snarkiness on their face so you're the little guy that preaches to my life did you see it written all over them and one day I'm up preaching and I see this skinny guy come in boy he looks familiar he'll come up and introduce themselves and you know say pastor would you pray for me I have cancer now let me tell you that's not God's will but I will tell you if it wasn't for that they wouldn't be in church but they got to a place where they needed God and they cried out to God and I've seen those same people get healed and fall right out of church again there is something about human nature that were when we're on the mountaintop the course of our heart cannot be changed but we're we're in the valley god do with me whatever you will just save me that's human nature yeah I love proverbs 20:1 one because it really explains a lot about the heart and it really explains to people when they're praying for loved ones what God has to do in order to change their heart because the same thing that he has to do to a river to change its course he has to do to a heart now how does the doctrine of free will apply to marriages this is our second scenario well let's suppose that a marriage partner leaves and the other begins to pray God bring them back to me well is it God's will to bring them back well of course it is look at Malachi chapter 2 verses 14 through 16 notice what it says you cry out why doesn't the Lord accept my worship I'll tell you why because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young well I was too young to really know what I want it doesn't matter we all get married young I got married at 20 my wife was 18 I married her before my hair fell out I wasn't stupid I'll tell you why because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young you made a vow to me honey I'm sorry I'm 240 pounds 60 pounds overweight but you have been unfaithful to her through though she remained your faithful partner the wife of your marriage vows didn't the Lord make you one with your life and body and spirit you were his and what does he want godly children from your Union so guard your heart one of the most important things you can do guard your heart remain loyal to the wife of your youth make sure you have boundaries for I hate divorce says saith the Lord the God of Israel to divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty says the Lord of heavens armies so guards your heart do not be unfaithful to your wife so basically what the Bible's telling us God hates divorces Luka Malik got but what's interesting about here so if we take first John chapter five verses 14 and 15 that we have this confidence in him that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us and if he hears us then we have the petitions that we desired of him so if my wife leaves me can't I pray that God will bring her back and if I have confidence in faith I'm asking for God's will because it is God's will that we remain married will God do that not necessarily we have to go a little bit further and we have to ask one more question is it God's will to force them to come back and the answer is no once again God will not violate a person's free will what God wants is for that person of their own free will to voluntarily return to their husband or to their wife so what we pray for is that God will soften their heart and convict him and that he will use circumstances to move them I'm gonna tell you something that's really tough and I'm sorry but this is the way life is how many of you ever read the book the anatomy and of an affair excellent book let me tell you what most psychologists will tell you that are Christian when a person has an affair basically they're in this state called limerence I'm telling you they are firing on all singles but they're just as stupid as stupid can be anyone ever met someone in that state of limits they're in love and what's kind of interesting about it is it's like they're no good to anyone you might have the best worker in the world at work and it's like they're not they're not doing their job they're forgetting things they're supposed to do and you find out they're in love you think banth up you love this and you think well I hope they go ahead and get married cuz it'll be over soon well here's what's kind of interest limerence only lasts about three years did you know that limerence it's it's a true state that people get in when they're in love but here's what's interesting we become very very foolish when we're in and so if a person begins to have an affair what happens is they go into the state of limerence and they become stupid and what they have is this fantasy this fantasy is I can leave everything behind and I can start this new life and we're so in love and everything's going to be great and they forget about all the devastation behind them and so one of the things that Christian psychologists will say is the first thing you need to do is you need to pray that they lose their job you need to pray that they lose their friends now I'm not saying being mean you need to be loving but here's the interesting thing about it is it when they begin to hit rock bottom all of a sudden the fantasy is gone when they can no longer rent the hotel fruits because they don't have a penny to their name when they cannot pay the child support when they can't do these type of things all of the sudden the delusion this fantasy they've been living in crumbles and at that point guess what happens God began can begin to work on their heart yeah now when those things take place now sometimes someone has an affair and they realize it's a mistake immediately they get back together but there are times when people are causing devastation along I say God remove the fantasy you take them where they need to be for them to understand that what they are doing is not only ruining their life but they're learning their children's life they're ruining their pain their mates life they're ruining their parents life they're ruining everything God you do what is necessary allowed to take place how many of you don't want pastor Alan praying for you maybe you don't let me tell you to me eternity is so important I'll pray for whatever it takes to get you where God wants you to be my children have a fear of dad praying for them sometimes anyways now God understands sometimes in marriage that it's impossible to live with the person so he allows them to separate look at 1st Corinthians chapter 7 verses 10 through 11 and under the married I command yet not i but the Lord let not the wife depart from her husband but and in if she depart let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband and let not the husband put away his wife if you don't have the right to remarry then maybe you better work it out right but you see we don't want to read this part we just want to start all over not realizing that you don't really get to start all over and so God comes in and he says now sometimes there are times when you can't live with the perks you need to separate and you don't get back together until those things that cause you to separate or fixed but you have a strong incentive to make it work yeah now why is it so important for us to understand the doctrine of free will well I'll tell you why it's because many Christians have been faced with situations just like the examples that I've given you and they've exercised their faith they stood on Scripture they've quoted God's Word believing that God would intervene and save a person or save their marriage and when that person died lost or during a faithful partner married someone else they were devastated they got mad at God they questioned their faith and many of them left the church the problem is they didn't understand the doctrine of free will you see what they were asking is something that guy can't do what they were really asking was for God to violate that person's free will and God won't do that God will be faithful to convict them and he will intervene in their life but God will never force anyone to do anything because God has created man with a free will now having said that let me say this God is not going to force you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior he's not gonna do that and hopefully you don't have to hit rock bottom to do that hopefully you have enough intelligence hopefully you're a wise enough person to take all of the facts reason with those facts logically and draw certain conclusion the conclusion is if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you're not going to heaven but also come to the conclusion that if you do accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior if you do live for him and put your faith in Him you will get to go to heaven when you die and a wise man does not have to hit rock bottom you know the difference between a wise man and a foolish man the foolish man has to go through the College of hard knocks he has to go through these horrible things before he finds the answer a wise man the Bible tells us as he looks at the mistakes of others he looks at what the Word of God says he takes all of the facts and this is why knowledge wisdom and understanding are so important and he's able to take those facts reason with those facts put them together to draw the right conclusion and then make the right choice or the right decision based on that and here's the choice before you are you going to accept Jesus Christ are you going to reject him are you going to be foolish sure you're going to be wise it's up to you I hope that you're wise
