as a child watching Nick shows seemed great on the surface but as we grow up we see there may have been a lot more to the show than we realize see some of the craziest Nickelodeon theories involving hit shows like the Rugrats iCarly SpongeBob SquarePants and Jimmy Neutron boy genius you may never look at these Nick shows the same again before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad to be the first Danelle of new screen rant content the last each he loaded it was a poem for you on Rugrats it took years before Chucky's real mom was finally revealed in a Mother's Day special she died when Chucky was barely a newborn but one theory states that she may not have been his mom in the first place the theory proposes that Dede pickles is Chucky's actual mom they have similar looks Chucky's dad gets along great with Dede and Chucky spends an awful lot of time hanging out at the pickles household maybe Stu shouldn't have spent so much time in the basement tinkering with his toys Tommy and Chucky's friendship could grow even stronger if the two knew they were related a helmet for a preschool show like Blue's Clues there sure are a lot of theories about the content characters and plot no we're not talking about the birth of paprika but rather Steve's rule on the show he constantly talks to a group of kids sings songs and plays silly games one theory states Steve's house is actually a daycare and each episode is him simply taking care of the children this explains why Steve acts the way he does and how he doesn't figure out Blue's Clues so much faster obviously the gig didn't pay enough as Joe came in and took over after a few seasons the live-action format of Drake and Josh was loved by fans and led to many questions in the opening of each episode the characters talked to the camera and basically narrate their feelings many fans have come to the conclusion that Drake and Josh is a reality show set in the Mickey many other characters on Nick shows like icarly and victorious have watched to Drake in Josh episodes within their worlds and some of the same characters have also appeared in those shows making them exist in the world the reality show offers a real-life perspective of mixed families and the journey to young teens must go through SpongeBob SquarePants is filled with all kinds of theories and mixed messages but do they involve the seven deadly sins many fans have assigned a deadly sin to each character on the show naturally mr. Krabs represents greed the gut buddy right Patrick represents sloth and sandy represents pride this leaves raft for Squidward lust for spongebob gluttony for Gary and envy for plankton whether the creator's intended this or not each role fits the character perfectly and often ends up being some of their biggest flaws while going on adventures yes baby pictures baby Freddie in the bathtub one of the biggest mysteries icarly never answered was who the father of Freddie Benson actually was a bizarre fan theory points out his father may be none other than a bee Barry Benson to be exact the animated be played the starring role in Bee Movie and he finds a connection with a human woman who looks eerily similar to mrs. Benson the theory became so popular that actor nathan kress tweeted about it and jokingly confirmed the theory was true [Applause] SpongeBob's formula for success hasn't changed much over the years but his maturity has sure gone downhill fans marked the release of the Spongebob Squarepants movie and fifth season premiere as two points where SpongeBob's actions shifted into a more childish tone the theory spongebob died and was reborn the moment happened on the big screen when Sponge Bob dries out on the beachside souvenir shop the reborn spongebob is naturally more immature as he learns to grow and accept his new identity the classic Nicktoons doug follows the perspective of doug funnie as his family moves to a new town and doug must navigate his complicated social life many fans point out Doug's blatant racism through the views of his mind anyone on the show with different skin colors are viewed by Doug with really wild skin tones including skeeters light blue while Doug tries to pass it off as an innocent imagination fans believe he is naively racist based on his upbringing in the years before the show began sorry it means escape the core of are you afraid of the dark revolved around the midnight society a group of teens who told tales of terror each night but where did these kids come from they rarely talked about their personal lives outside of the group and one theory states that they're all actually dead and ghosts themselves the midnight society is actually a state of limbo the characters who left the group have finally crossed over to the other side magic pyramid for all the answers Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide could also be a guide to the Illuminati if one fan theory is true in the episode failing Ned uses a magical pyramid to solve all the answers on a quiz he takes the pyramid features the all-seeing eye on one side and the side always faces towards the camera fans theorized the episode is clearly promoting the power of the Illuminati unfortunately a teacher smashes the pyramid in the episode of leaving a lot of unanswered questions Butch Hartman is known for creating Nicktoons like The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom not only are the animation styles the same between both shows but the characters are eerily similar and have led to many fan theories one of these theories is that Danny Phantom is a grownup version of Timmy Turner after using the power of the fairies Timmy goes under assumed name of Danny and has the ability to connect to both the real world and ghost dimension the similar looks hairstyles and actions of the characters really help connect the two shows on the Amanda show Amanda Bynes was constantly stalked by a crazed look-alike with the name Penelope while Penelope was an alter ego played by Bynes as well many fans believe she was real kidnapped amanda Bynes and assumed her identity in the real world the theory explains some of binds his bizarre actions in real life and obviously Penelope could not act as well as Bynes giving us a good reason for her lack of film roles in the past several years SpongeBob's biggest mystery still remains after so many years what is inside a krabby patty well according to several theories the ingredient is actually crab itself that's right mr. Krabs kills his own kind to make profits and craft the most delicious patty sandwich the theory stems from the name of the restaurant Varys Burger King Taco Bell and Dairy Queen all with food in the title it would make sense that the Krusty Krab would actually include crab on the feeding for some reason many children's show theories involve the characters and drug use one of them is Steve from Blue's Clues Steve's drug problems led to the character seeing all types of things around his home talking furniture talking food and a singing mailbox were just some of the objects who came to life to talk to the drug induced Steve then there's the times when Steve would jump into paintings as if they were real life locations by the time Joe came around Steve was off to rehab not college Bikini Bottom is a strange place fish talk some of them have weird mutations and there's a text in the squirrel who decided to spend her life researching underwater how did it all occur Wow one theory places the blame on nuclear radiation many of the buildings are said to be shells of nuclear bombs and the bombs have mutated the fish and other sea creatures to form the characters we know and love how else would you explain a clarinet loving octopus [Music] connecting shows is a great way to build theories and one far-reaching theory helps connect the world of iCarly to Drake and Josh on Drake and Josh the character crazy Steve worked at the local movie theater he was played by Jeremy Trainor the same actor who played Spencer on iCarly the theory states that crazy Steve and Spencer are the same character Steve kidnapped Drake and Josh's younger sister Megan took her to Seattle and brainwashed her to think she was actually named Carly and living in an apartment with her brother processed the theory for a minute it actually makes a lot of sense [ __ ] is really upset when Doug moved to bluffington he met a number of new characters including the eccentric mr. dink but was there more - mr. dink than meets the eye it was always popping up and random dirty deeds using his active imagination and daydreams dirt Shakespeare Scottish Kings and don't know the Keanu Reeves advanced acting course Jimmy Neutron was a certified genius with the ability to invent robots explore space and create all kinds of useful inventions yet everyone in retro Ville mostly ignored his special abilities or shrugged him off as child's play a theory related to the town of retro Ville involves a large government cover-up Jimmy Neutron lives in a Truman Show type of situation involving the government tracking Jimmy's every move and using his inventions to their advantage by making Jimmy feel like he's living a normal childhood he continues to grow and invent new things one of the biggest questions involved in the classic Nicktoons hey Arnold is the presence of stoop kid why was he so dedicated to his stoop according to one theory stupid kid was forced to stay on the stoop because the building he sat at was actually home to a huge drug operation stoop kid had to stay on his stoop to prevent anyone from going into the building and kept an eye out for any possible police activity or suspicious people we imagine stoop kid got into major trouble when Arnold finally got him off the stoop this kind of would rule if you ever thought it was two brothers who were named Pete well then we have a theory for you on The Adventures of Pete and Pete one theory states that the younger Pete is not even real he's the manifestation of the older Pete the younger Pete is more daring and does things the older Pete wishes he did when he was younger by living vicariously through the younger brother Pete feels more satisfied about the less adventurous life he lives the next time you watch Pete and Pete keep this theory in mind and the show will give you a whole new perspective like if you haven't watched a Nickelodeon in a long time the next time you tune in everything may feel a little similar no it's not another repeat one theory states Nick went through a big remake stage to try and relaunch some of their shows that were a little less popular back in the day for example the old show brothers Garcia was remade into Ricky Dicky Nicky and Don the show Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide was remade into 100 things to do before high school and then there's the show Marvin Marvin the show very similar to the journey of Alan strange the stories and characters in each of the show counterparts are nearly identical to each other Clarissa explains it all ended far earlier than it should have of course the show wouldn't have lasted long enough to show Clarissa have children but a theory quickly spread over the internet connecting Clarissa to the show Ned's Declassified according to rumours Ned was actually the child of Sam and Clarissa and even mentioned them by name unfortunately the theory was debunked when the scenes and episodes mentioned in the theory didn't even exist fortunately Sabrina is due to make her big return to TV and we'll get some real answers about her future timmy turner was living a miserable life before the fairies arrived he had neglectful parents a horrible babysitter and some pretty strict school teachers according to a popular theory Timmy never got fairies food was prescribed multiple antidepressants Cosmo and Wanda represent both Zoloft and Prozac giving Timmy hope happiness and optimism when Timmy over uses their magic he actually overdoses on the pills and has to suffer from some pretty crazy side effects yikes this one was a little depressing I'm not crazy Danny phantoms whole premise is pretty crazy even for a cartoon he's a superhero who battles ghosts and supernatural creatures across multiple dimensions but is it all real a theory about the show states that everything after the pilot actually didn't happen Danny fell into a coma and everything that happens with his superhero adventures is actually all just part of his dreamlike coma state the aula dream theories are done for many shows but this one is more convincing than others doctor are you sure maybe we should get a second opinion the world of the Rugrats includes multiple seasons feature films and spin-off shows like all grown up with so much content there are bound to be a ton of theories and many have spread around over the years one of the most popular theories involves the existence of the Rugrats altogether the dark dark theory states that all of the babies are actually dead and the only way for Angelica to cope is by imagining the babies are all still alive the deaths of the babies are pretty sad as well and involves still births car accidents and miscarriages among others thankfully all grown-ups pretty much debunked the theory and showcases how the Rugrats are all alive and well I'm the manager at this establishment everything's gonna be just cartoons have always been an important part of our childhood and some of the best part toons have been those that came from one of the legendary Studios Nickelodeon nick has been praised for its programming but what if we told you that sometimes nick has made headlines for the wrong reasons before we get started on some shocking secrets be sure to hit that red subscribe button to stay up to date on all things screen rants the great Angelica View if you're a fan of the 90s then chances are you will be flooded with major nostalgia feels when we mention a little show called Rugrats maybe avert iment of course you have the show is one of the first Nicktoons that were ever created and if you're familiar with the time period you'll know that the humor and what was allowed on television was a lot different and like with the first round of most shows it was all about finding the right balance of what was kid-friendly and what was a little too much blood rats was a bit more on the cautious side compared to some other Nicktoons we're looking at you Ren and Stimpy however there was a debate among the writing staff about how to handle Angelica's meanness arlene klasky thought that the toddler Angelica was too much on the mean side however Paul Germain thought that she dealt with some of the heavier emotions that come with childhood both sides can be argued but alas Jermaine was kicked off the show along with several other writers in 1993 the show was cancelled in 94 but rose to massive popularity through syndication so naturally more episodes were produced in 1996 this time with a little bit less meanness to it oh baby oh baby oh baby justbe cape Rocko's romance life you know the saying that times change and if you look back at some of Nickelodeon's older cartoons and content it's pretty clear how much has changed what are the more adult kids shows on the network was of course Rocko's Modern Life if you go back and watch the show there are plenty of moments which make you question why this was ever on a kids network just go back and watch it you'll see what we mean there are so many innuendos and jokes that you miss as a kid although it was less gross and not as mean as some of the other shows it did tend to go a bit far with it's not so subtle adult content it was definitely no surprise when the show eventually went a little too far with its episode leapfrogs in this episode missus bighead the croaky voice toad was trapped in a loveless marriage and was desperate for a little bit of attention from a man and so Bev bighead tries to seduce Rocco as you can imagine the theme of adultery was too much and was deemed too inappropriate for kids which resulted in the episode being pulled from the air listen Doug try to concentrate give up the Doug shows get cancelled all the time and sometimes we hope for them to get picked up and saved by other networks however in the case of Doug many fans feel as though it was better left alone but 1996 Doug transitioned over to Disney and joined their Saturday morning lineup doug was such a hit that they ended up making a Doug movie in 1999 talk about success so what's not to love well naturally Disney made some changes like with the unique music they changed the theme song which was one of the best parts of the show they also changed the characters like Connie a character who was curvy ended up being turned skinny it was even part of the plot Roger got turned into a rich kid and no longer lived in a trailer park Doug got a baby sister and he was voiced by a completely different actor fans are still not happy about it today have no fear I have many powers of vision angry beavers last episode in the era of Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy we also had the three beavers again another show that was technically a kids show but the subject matter was not so innocent the premise followed two brothers nor bird and agate fever who left home to go out and explore the world all while getting into escapades and shenanigans but after four seasons the angry beavers was to come to a close so what do you do when your show is over well go out with a bang right co-creator Keith Catterick decided he wanted the final episode to have the beavers Norbert and Daggett realize that they were cartoon characters in a show that was about to be canceled although breaking the fourth wall works for some stories we were looking at you gen pool it was a no-no in Nickelodeon's book and so the last episode was cancelled a little ironic don't you think please Zoe gets canceled but don't you just hate it when your favorite shows get cancelled when you're not even expecting it Zoey 101 was one of Nickelodeon's highest-rated shows it originally aired in 2005 and followed Teen Zoey Brooks played by Jamie Lynn Spears as she enrolls in Pacific Coast Academy the school only allowed boys previously so we follow her and her friends they've journey through boarding school although the show only lasted three years it received high praise including an Emmy nomination for outstanding children's program Jamie Lynn Spears was one of the most popular teen stars and was at the top of her game and not just because she was Britney's a little sister so why would a show like this come to an end well there are some complications the star of the show became pregnant and while that might not have been an issue on regular TV shows this was a kids show then miss Jamie Lynn was only 16 years old although it's unclear if that's the reason why it ended it has also been said that the show just ran its course can't all be a coincidence though right invader zim trial be careful what you ask for because he just might get it Nickelodeon wanted to bring some edge to the network and they got it when they took a chance on Jonah and Vasquez the show was totally different and unlike anything we have ever seen yet landish humor and characters were a hit among viewers show unfortunately got cancelled midway through the production of its second season it wasn't any issues with censorship believe it or not but rather the expensive high quality CG animations but the show remained a cult classic especially with merchandise so how could this awesome show about an alien receive any flak well will tell you the only thing worse than being canceled is to be mentioned by a defendant during a murder trial in 2005 a young woman was found murdered in her home and her neighbor was arrested and charged for murder the killer mentioned a fascination with an episode of invader zim called dark harvest in which Zim collects human organs in an attempt to seem more human needless to say invader zim is reputation suffered after this however some witnesses say that his comments were made and passing and were not to be taken as seriously no time for adventure if you're a fan of cartoons and are still a kid or a kid at heart chances are you've seen or at least heard of the Cartoon Network hit show Adventure Time the show is full of random nonsense creativity imagination and some of the strangest characters and plots the show is kooky wacky and downright strange to say the least but overall MIT's an excellent time the popular cartoon fantasy is about magic adventure and all kinds of awesome stuff you might be thinking what to Finn the human and Jake the dog have to do with Nickelodeon well have we got a story for you Nickelodeon has a segment called Nickelodeon's random cartoons and in 2007 they had their hands on something big Pendleton Ward's original pilot of Adventure Time was in their grasp but they turned it down not just once but twice turns out it was just a little bit too weird you think Nickelodeon would be all over this but alas they weren't the pilot went viral and the rest as they say is history show totally revitalized Cartoon Network's programming wonder if Nickelodeon regrets their decision what do you think Rugrats anti-semitism controversy we know what you're thinking Rugrats is in here for a second time oh yes friends this popular show was not free from controversy Rugrats has been praised for its depiction of Judaism and was popular among Jewish families for its portrayal of the half Jewish family the pickles the show had a Passover and Chanukah special and gave kids some insights into Jewish ceremonies and family traditions arlene klasky who is a jewish woman from a mixed family as well believed that cultural representation was important which fans loved so it was quite a bit of a shock when the anti-defamation league accused a Rugrats newspaper comic strip of anti-semitism in 1998 the outrage happened over a comic strip that featured grandpa Boris reciting a prayer at Rosh Hashanah services while the protagonist baby the Curious Tommy pickles sits wondering what the adults are doing the strip in question was not meant to be disrespectful in any way but ape foxman of the anti-defamation league accused Boris's design of resembling anti-semitic nazi era depictions of Jewish people Nickelodeon's response was to withdraw the comic strip from circulation SpongeBob's endless summer getting your boatmobile and rev up those fryers because we are sure hungry for some more spongebob news the lovable sea sponge with the infectious laughter is a force to be reckoned with he's been around for almost two decades and almost every kid knows his name but as with every great show it is not without its share of commotion and controversy and among the many surrounding spongebob throughout the years there was one in 2011 involving the hosts of Fox & Friends the episode in question the endless summer follows mr. Krabs trying to put more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to accelerate global warming and create an endless summer that way everyone will pay to go to his pool Fox & Friends attacked Sponge Bob and said the show only presents one side of the argument the accused spongebob in the department of education for pushing a global warming Genda at an event by handing out copies of the book spongebob goes green an earth-friendly adventure however farts and friends accusation was inaccurate the Department of Education did not show cartoons at the event and the book was one of the many available for kids to choose from Oh Ren and Stimpy band episode when you think of sick and disturbing cartoons we are willing to bet that Ren and Stimpy is pretty high on that list as you may know Ren and Stimpy was notorious for pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable to kids cartoons on more than several occasions the show was always more popular with the older kids needless to say each episode always took it to the limit with its dark sense of humor but one particular episode was so brutally violent that it caused it to be banned immediately by Nickelodeon the episode in question is called man's best friend this episode totally crossed the line and when it comes to Ren & Stimpy that's saying a whole lot the episode featured its regular questionable humor and references to tobacco but one scene in particular was too much to handle the scene depicted ren using an oar to beat a character named george to a bloody pulp nick executives flag dat is too violent which led crater john christow lucy to be fired and the episode was removed from syndication the only shocking thing about this was that it wasn't banned earlier as we transitioned into middle school and slowly started to mature Nickelodeon kept us around thanks to their teennick programming block a variety of shows featured the great Nick comedy and entertainment we loved but sometimes things went a little dark watch to see shocking storylines mature themes and some episodes that were downright banned from ever airing again before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad to be the first to know of brand new content and can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out do they said oh sorry good let's don't be mad at me manager Doug Drake and Josh for many of us the adventures of Drake and Josh was a comedy hit where we grew connected to the characters in their ongoing stories the stepbrothers often had crazy shenanigans and would often pull each other into convoluted plots involving school relationships and work well the pals would bicker a lot things were never as serious as in the episode entitled Josh is done after Drake forces Josh to miss an important exam Josh decides to end their friendship and start living separate lives throughout the course of the episode Drake's life slowly unravels until he reaches a dramatic breaking point played up with complete seriousness Drake goes on to explain to Josh how much he needs him how much his life is better with him in it and how sorry he is for the actions he caused the whole scene is pretty deep and has even more context now knowing the real-life rift between the two actors by the end of the episode there's no big happy ending but they do end up playing a game of ping pong together in an effort to repair their damaged relationship the episode showcases how friendships don't last forever and how important it is to never take a friend for granted Akko goes to heck first show about a wallaby Rocko's Modern Life sure explored some pretty dark subjects Rocco's best friend heifer has two different experiences with the show's version of Hell simply referred to as heck on the show in the episode - hacking back pepper chokes on a chicken bone and his presumed death forces the character down to heck there he meets peaches the animated form of the devil who spends their time torturing heifer the imagery maybe frightening to younger crowds in the trapped world of hack feels like torture while watching the episode just when you think hacker has escaped hack we learn he is still trapped there and peaches continues to play games one of the darkest parts is when peaches removes the black hood to reveal a scary face with squirting cow udders on top of their head peaches in the world of heck returns for the episode half in a handbasket this dark episode turns hack into a creepy game show where no one truly wins both episodes received complaints from viewers and were banned for a while before being reintroduced through TeenNick reruns now you can see glimpses of an animated hell when Rocko's Modern Life is featured on late-night episodes of teen Nicks Splatt morty the strongest man in the world suddenly we had the answer let's my fat head like a Lima Bean The Adventures of Pete and Pete Halloween episodes and children's program is typically pretty standard some episodes may have a few scares other feature fun costumes and then there's the adventures of Keaton Pete Nick show about two brothers with the same name premiered in 1993 and aired for three seasons the quirky show featured a lot of surreal stories with dark themes but none were as dark as the Halloween episode entitled Halloween the episode starts out with creepy visuals and only gets creepier from there one of the darkest parts of the story involves a group of kids known as the pumpkin eaters these teens terrorized the town every year on Halloween with each one wearing a pumpkin with a terrifying carving on it another main storyline in the episode focuses on big Pete's transition from trick-or-treating he must deal with the sad truth of being too old to trick-or-treat and missing the glory days of collecting as much candy as possible everything in the episode comes to a head as both Pete's must take on the pumpkin eaters while losing the innocence of Halloween the final scenes all take place in a closed-down haunted house only adding to the scares and creepiness of the episode Kenan & Kel Kenan & Kel is show that never took themselves too seriously the characters often found themselves in crazy situations engaged in physical comedy and always hatched plans which ended up going wrong one way or another then out of nowhere the show featured one of their more serious episodes entitled bye bye Kenan a two-part season finale featured some of the most dramatic moments from the whole Kenan & Kel series the plot follows a story where Keenan's father needs to move the family because of a new job promotion unlike most shows where the move is canceled Keenan's family actually goes through with it showcasing scenes of the two best friends saying goodbye was actually hard to watch and you would never expect to be so attached to a bottle of orange soda one of the saddest moments was when Kel arrives to say goodbye but the whole Rockmore family has already left he reveals a big portrait of him and Kenan he wanted to give us a goodbye gift way too many feels for a goofy over-the-top sitcom thankfully the days of Kenan & Kel weren't over he even was able to get his father fired as the family moved back to town so Kenan & Kel 'z adventures could continue on The Amanda Show in recent years amanda bynes real life has gone through some pretty dark times but young viewers could see shades of her breakdown just by watching her sketch comedy series The Amanda Show the show features some pretty nutty characters and a lot of sketches which push the limits of comedy one of the darker episodes was simply known as episode 29 of The Amanda Show after originally airing the show has been banned from Nickelodeon and has never aired again on the network the only way to officially see it is by purchasing the season 2 DVD collection the reason the episode was originally banned was because of the dark content featured just before the terrorist attacks of 2001 the opening sketch of the show features an Italian man blowing himself pop onstage later in the episode things get a little darker with a sketch entitled the luckless 'as the family who is constantly down on their luck meets their demise when a meteor crashes down and destroys their whole how the large explosion an aftermath looked a little too similar to planes crashing into the World Trade Center and was quickly pulled by Nickelodeon instead of replacing the sketch or removing it completely the network just stopped airing the episode altogether why don't I help you with those bags iCarly's dark days on iCarly the show wasn't afraid to tackle more mature storylines in terms of pure emotion nothing was sadder than the series finale when Carly moves away and Sam rides off into the sunset for darker themes the show is ventured on to some pretty dark territory two episodes focused on nora dershlit an obsessed fan of the show who ends up trapping the cast members in her basement Nora's character was off-the-wall and did some pretty crazy things too characters as the episode focused on kidnapping and entrapment I psycho wouldn't be one of iCarly's darkest episodes though the episode I rue the day was instantly put on Nickelodeon's radar and banned for a long time before returning to air in recent years the episode dives deep into Internet hacking not really focusing on the morals of hack viewers are made to believe hacking is a game and after the lead characters become victims of a hack they vow revenge by hacking back themselves after the huge Sony hack the episode was pulled from airwaves so young teens were encouraged to start exploring hacking methods of their own because before you know it children will be trying to unlock iPhones and shut down YouTube channels all in the name of iCarly the story I've got is about three kinds of people people who believe in magic people who don't the tale of the super specs for scares on nickelodeon young teens would turn to the anthology series are you afraid of the dark children grew up experiencing some of the more horrifying scares including clowns ghosts pirates and creatures in the woods each episode typically featured 20 minutes of fear with a couple extra minutes of happy conclusion but there were a few exceptions one of those exceptions is the dark episode known as the tale of the super specks like many other episodes the story starts off in Zorah doze magic shop where an innocent person ends up purchasing something pretty awaken the purchase this time is a pair of super specks glasses which enables a young girl to see visions of ghosts and creatures from other universes in the end she tries to close off the window to the alternate universe but in a rare twist the main character is trapped forever there is no happy ending for the dark tale and children left feeling scared and creeped out by the giant set of eyeballs to trapped the character forever the dark ending left little hope and the episode has never followed up on in the future children learns through the tale of the super specks that not everything has a happy ending as time runs out the Action League puts their heads together to save our nation's capital by the way what is our nation's capital KaBlam sketch comedy featured on KaBlam was a mix of traditional animation stop-motion animation and a little bit of CGI one of the more popular segments on the show as the Action League now series the animated shorts used action figures like Thunder girl and the flash as their heroes and typically took on pretty simple plots everything changed with the release of the short entitled caged thunder in the episode the heroes tackled terrorist actions by an evil mayor and like many shows at the time had the unfortunate case of being scheduled around the September 11th attacks in 2001 the animated short hits a little too close to home as the terrorist plot involves bombing a congressional building in Washington the bomb is stopped at the last second but is rerouted to the Action League now building where the whole thing is blown to smithereens the plot lines are way too close to the real-life Pentagon plane crash from 2001 the whole thing was just a coincidence as the show relies on outlandish humor in crazy situations because of the content the episode was pulled from the air and has rarely been seen by Nick viewers for any episodes that did air the location of the target was changed to a more local setting rather than the nation's capital so get these stupid rumors out of your tiny brain so you got room in there to learn this song places Degrassi after following Degrassi for years and years many viewers were probably left saying unbelievable after witnessing some of the crazy and dark plots the show has the grassy isn't afraid to take on mature relationships teen pregnancy broken families and abuse among other things teen Nick has aired the show for several years now and if you stopped watching then you probably missed the appropriately titled episode unbelievable in the story the characters Zooey wakes up after a party confused about the events that unfolded the previous night she then discovers through video evidence that she was sexually assaulted by two males to make matters even more complicated Zoe's friend Becky decides to investigate the matter in a shocking twist Becky discovers her brother is the one responsible for the sexual assault not only to Zooey go through the traumatic event but Becky must deal with revealing the truth and forever changing her family this is a lot to take in for the young teen viewer huge revelations follow each other up on extremely sensitive subjects the content is dark but the message is clear and the education teams get from the episode can help with important life decisions down the line the people is terrible-smelling Sam and cat pilot episodes of shows are supposed to introduce us to characters learn a little bit about the journey and help set the tone for the future of the show Sam and cat took a different path because the show was actually just a spin-off of two other shows icarly and victorious still reeling from the ending of iCarly the start of Sam and cat was probably a lot darker than viewers expected we get set up to the story when Sam rides her motorcycle into California leaving her Seattle life behind we quickly learned how lonely Sam is without Carly and with an absentee mother on hand well that is downright depressed she still had Freddie but he obviously wasn't enough despite her hard-edged persona Sam seems truly depressed and tries to make the most out of her newfound friendship with cat not only is the episode sad for the character but the real-life drama only makes the reality seem worse it's no secret Sam's portrayer jennette mccurdy didn't get along with ariana grande on set and she was the main co-star she spent time with so mccurdy goes from an ensemble cast she loves to being forced to work with grande for 40-plus episodes it all makes sense for the show ended early bring a mortal lose a title donation or be prepared to suffer consequences Nicktoons made us laugh filled up our Saturday mornings in our huge part of our childhood memories but then there were times when the shows would shock us give us nightmares and forces to keep our night lights on just a little bit longer than we should have from Rugrats to invader zim see the episodes that freaked us out as children before you relive your childhood nightmares click subscribe don't join our notification squad to be the first to know of grandi new content can you guess which movie is represented by these emojis stay tuned at the end to find out Rugrats under Chucky's bed who knew a sweater could be so scary odd Rugrats Chucky's anxiety always got the best of him we typically laugh it off as he was afraid of bugs the backyard or even a large flight of stairs helped us see his point of view and relate to him more than ever the show's creators presented us with the episode entitled under Chucky's bed the episode starts innocently enough following Chucky's love and comfort of sleeping in a crib then he gets surprised with a big-boy bed and everything changes on the first night in the new bed Chucky's peers under the mattress only to discover the creaky monster living beneath it even though it was just a cartoon you can't forget the deep voice calling Chucky's name add in some huge eyes and sharp teeth and you were probably scared to look under your own bed in the middle of the night thankfully Thani comes to spend the night but even the brave baby has trouble confronting the bed monster the big reveal comes at the end of the episode when Chucky's father discovers he left an oddly patterned sweater underneath the bed unfortunately even with the lights on his sweater [Music] invader zim Halloween spectacular of spooky doom if you are scared and anxious child than one show you probably avoided as a kid was invader zim almost every episode featured something to be scared of including characters getting their eyes pulled out and scary creatures who gave you nightmares fittingly one of the scariest episodes in the whole series was known as the Halloween spectacular of spooky doom the episode features a typical story where a Zim is frightened about the children dressed for Halloween and then takes a much darker turn as we follow the character of dim Halloween now it's just a shamelessly commercial ploy that begins having visions of truly terrifying creatures and monsters who turn out to be real the creatures are from another dimension and they're looking to captured it the resulting chase scene could have been inserted in any horror film the creatures are something out of a pure nightmare and children could easily get scared watching the episode with the lights out seeing the children gorge on a ton of candy and transform their bodies adds even more shocking images to the end of the episode the show is a far cry from the innocent Nickelodeon fodder and even rivals live-action scares from counter-programming like are you a free food here we go what not to do at a satellite SpongeBob SquarePants procrastination through the years SpongeBob SquarePants has been known for their Halloween episodes the show has provided a lot more fun rather than scares for one of the more nightmare inducing episodes watch the season 2 episode entitled the crafts donation the episode presents a nightmare in a different kind of way instead of straight-up spooks and scares we feel the torture and painful struggle spongebob must go through as he stays up to complete an assignment for driver's ed hours and hours go by without a word written spongebob starts having hallucinations and we can all relate to the torture of needing to do something and not who hasn't had terrible fears about school tests or assignments torturing our dreams and making every moment feel like a living nightmare the animators were able to capture this perfectly in the world they created in the seemingly endless journey as spongebob dives deeper and deeper into his sleep-deprived state he feel his pain after several hours and only seeing the word the time because of this episode can be hard to watch for some and even create nightmares of your own after seeing please just let us watch a normal more bubbly episode of the show instead welcome to HEC a friendly community Rocko's Modern Life - heck and back reliving the whole series of Rocko's Modern Life can bring back a lot of creepy moments hope everyone just the way some of the characters are drawn and animated is enough to scoop just about anyone the show is featured zombies monsters and some odd moments but nothing caused nightmares like the episode entitled to heck and back in the episode Heffer literally goes to hell and we follow him along for the torturous journey the character is brought there after choking on a chicken bone and we're quickly introduced to peaches an animated version of the Grim Reaper I am evil they call me peachie Hefner is shown his gluttony through the years and peaches continues to torment the character at one point while laughing evilly he just pulls off his hood to reveal squirting cow udders on his head and this is pretty much the point where we changed the channel and devote a good amount of time to church on TV those who dared to continue watching you would get the false ending of heifer waking up in his bed only to find the whole thing was another trick by peaches and heifer is still trapped in the animated version of Hell Rocco eventually comes to the rescue but peaches makes a return in a future episode bringing back the creepiness and scares that we all want to avoid it's the happy show show with your host grandma taters hello everybody I'm so happy to see you The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron one of us retro Ville serves the main town featured in The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron the town always seems a little weird but things are taken to a whole new level on the episode entitled one of us a new show debut is entitled the happy show show and it begins turning characters into mindless creatures Jimmy refuses to watch the show and then figures out how everyone around is transforming [Music] when Cindy comes back to town from a karate competition two characters must team up to take on the whole town of zombie creatures the episode has a lot of jump scares creepy moments and the main villain is the unsuspecting grandma haters haters calm demeanor only adds to the horror and then the big twist ending really brings the scares full circle a group of grandma tater clones appear from a ship to rescue the one in retrofit then she removes her glasses and we all get spooked seeing the creepy eyes as she proclaims who will be back the unusually dark ending is different for the show and just enough to keep kids awake and afraid on a Saturday night grandma taters does make a return in the league of villains episode bringing back her creepy nature and demeanor are real monsters a wing and a scare flying in airplanes is scary enough for some people but the animated series are real monsters didn't make it any easier as obli McCrum and akos attempt to scare a little girl they become trapped inside a suitcase and escorted onto a plank the three monsters spend a majority of the flight traveling around various sections of the play in an attempt to scare the little girl while they fail at first frighten her we experienced all types of real flight scares including the lights going out and some crazy turbulence we should eventually the three monsters scare a young boy before escaping through the toilet and ending up on the wing of the plane somehow in a scene straight out of The Twilight Zone literally a little boy sees the monsters on the wing of the plane and becomes horrified at the sight of them things only get worse when crumb ends up in the jet engine of the plane and nearly causes it to crash the plane lands safely but the episode builds on our fear of flying way more than any of the monsters in that show because of the content and jet engine issues the episode was cut from reruns shortly after the September 11th attacks back in 2001 the angry beavers up all night staying up all night is a rite of passage for a kid we could stay up until 8 or 9 or even 10 o'clock if we wanted to we get even straight up on hours of TV video games and goofing off creates great memories as children fight off their exhaustion and attempt to keep rolling as the hours tick by sound the classic Nicktoons the angry beavers presented a great version of this story with the episode aptly titled up all night in the story the two beavers decide to take the challenge and stay awake until the next morn a big mistake they make during the late-night hours is watching the low-budget horror film the animators could have simply played sound effects you're shown a few quick clips they went all out and creating the crawling spleen cutscene we were all horrified to see the crawl explain an organ lump crawls across the ground with a grotesque thumb sticking out from the top of it oh the humanity the whole thing was realistically animated especially when compared to the animated beavers we are then delivered more scares with Normand eggs think the crawling spleen is in their actual house [Music] nasty image of the monster was enough to get kids to go to bed early CatDog teeth for to one of the more recurring nightmares people have involves the loss of teeth cracked teeth teeth falling out or rotting teeth are just a few of the ways people wake up in a panic before realizing on their pearly whites are still intact the Nicktoons cat dog decided to play on all of the dental nightmares in the episode entitled teeth for two for those unaware the Nicktoons featured a cat and dog who are connected in the middle while all scientific facts and plausibility noir thrown up the window the story in teeth for two follows cat dog as the characters realized the actions on one of their teeth will directly impact the other person dental health the follows is a series of truly hideous scenes that could only be described as tooth horror both characters chew on crazy objects purposefully damaging teeth and create all types of mouth carnage we wouldn't ever wish on ourselves one of the creepiest moments is when cat crawls through their body and appears inside out in dog's mouth the bloody and gross looking body of cat attempting to brush dog's teeth as we simply watch in horror and wonder how he could possibly sleep that night haunts us wait loading frowny thing with Fairly OddParents Betty by Timmy Turner lives each day with fairy godparents by a side on the fairly oddparents at one point he realizes wishing during the daytime is just not enough after getting sick of going to bed so early Timmy makes a wish that no one ever slept again like many of Timmy's wishes the whole premise starts out with a lot of fun but slowly turns into a living nightmare at the center of the wishes mistake is Cosmo who is negatively impacted by the wish as his lack of beauty sleep creates some pretty disastrous results throughout the episode his face slowly turns uglier and uglier until we see a hideous display showcasing rotting flesh leaking nostrils and bloodshot eyes thankfully one that covers his head with a mass but not before the image is burned into our skull just when you think Cosmo is back to normal The Sandman forced Timmy to stay awake for 7 days straight and we are forced to see another dark detailed and disturbing close-up of Timmy's face Timmy's face is even worse than cosmo's with more goo gross news and skin issues lesson learned we will go to bed on time from now on invader zim bad bad rubber piggy poor Dib throughout the whole invader zim series the character has been prone to Zim's constant attacks and bullying one of the craziest forms of this comes in the episode bad bad rubber piggy in the cartoon Zim gets a time machine to work his ultimate goal to send a robot back in time to kill Dib when he's just three years old thanks the only problem the robot isn't compatible with the time portal the only thing Zim can make work through the time portal art rubber pigs he makes good use of the pigs as viewers have to witness a whole lifetime of torture for Dib Dib is nailed off his tricycle attacked at random times and even has all the bone crushed in his body the horrific violence is hard to watch even an animated form and it's creepy to see Zim act so nonchalant about it all Dib eventually comes back to get his revenge in a giant robot suit and nearly kills Simba for Zim is able to change the timeline and prevent all the rubber pigs from coming in the first place after seeing that episode it's no surprise if you had some flying pig nightmares of your own nickelodeon is featured family-friendly content for years there are many instances where jokes got slipped in gags featured mature references and children got sent the wrong message from are you afraid of the dark - spongebob see some of the craziest times Nick shows took things way too far before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad and me the first to know of a new content from screen lands and can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end find out are you afraid of the dark there's nothing wrong with a good scare for children and a majority of the time Knicks are you afraid of the dark supplied some great ones the anthology series felt like The Twilight Zone for kids in each episode packed just enough scares without pushing the limits too far well there are two exceptions to this the show was supposed to be scary but it shouldn't ever conjure nightmares for the rest of your life first up is the tale of the dead man's float you'll never look at a swimming pool the same way again after seeing this nightmare show a couple kids go to their school swimming pool only to witness some type of crazy swamp monsters swimming in the depths below the monster and some of the intense swimming scenes actually rival the original jaws once you've avoided the water long enough you'll probably want to stay away from carnivals circuses and amusement parks all thanks to the episode titled the tale of laughing in the dark using the common fear of clowns are you afraid of the dark Zeebo goes out for revenge when a young punk steals his red nose the crazy scares that follow feel like a small screen version of Stephen King's it and we're all still spooked sing Zeebo scary face mr. Crocker goes new The Fairly OddParents is fast paced stopped with animation and has the ability to get away with all types of jokes one Episode may have pushed these jokes a little too far just seeing the title alone is enough to raise some questions the episode we're referencing is simply called Rock blocks how the title alone made a past Nickelodeon censors is beyond us we guessed by season 9 Nick gave the show free rein to whatever it wanted once you get past the overly sexual reference in the title things don't get much better as the episode plays out Timmy wishes for his teacher mr. Crocker to disappear the results of the wish turns him invisible as he wrecks all kinds of havoc in his life Timmy then reverses the wish but mr. Crocker realize deciding not to wear any clothes because he enjoyed the freedom of being invisible mr. Crocker roams the school completely naked and in front of children we've had enough real life teacher and student controversies to see this one went a little bit too far an apple not so subtly blocks his private area although they show enough details within his hairy chest I've seen too much welcome to o-town Rocko's Modern Life probably should have debuted on Comedy Central or Adult Swim instead of Nickelodeon the content innuendo and adult jokes were far more suited to air alongside shows like South Park and Rick and Morty of course Nickelodeon was one of the few animation outlets available in the early 90s then this is where the show made his premiere show took risks right out of the gate with stories about adultery ringworm and questionable doctor's visits Rocko's whole town is basically one big adult joke with adult references in one episode the characters visit the no-tell Motel a scene which was cut from future broadcasts the name of the common fast-food restaurant is known as the Chokey chicken yes even the doctor that Rocko visits is named the not-so-subtle dr. Ben Dover the doctor even sticks his hand up Rocko's pants and hasn't coughed multiple times this is Saturday morning cartoon content right here even the name of the city Oh town could be taken as an adult reference we watching the show as an adult presents dozens of more jokes and a lot of content just passed over your head as a child the show never simply about a happy wallaby and adventures with his friends tell his diary the classic Nicktoons Hey Arnold may have had the young boy's name in the title many people could argue that Helga was actually the main character we saw several stories from her perspective she delivered multiple monologues and we got to see her home life several of the scenes in Helga's home took place in her room where a hidden shrine was dedicated to the football head crushed she pined for while actually treating him terribly in person as if the shrine to Arnold wasn't enough the character decided to read from secret diary in one episode while swinging over Arnold she delivers one of the most inappropriate lines and Nik history by saying he makes her girlhood tremble and for children who didn't hear it correctly don't worry a parent decides to repeat the line multiple times for someone who's supposed to be around nine years old the last thing any of us want to hear about is her girlhood trembling imagine all the poor parents who had to answer questions after seeing this scene what's a girl hood how does it tremble am I supposed to have a shrine to my crush how was Arnold born with a football shaped head huh good luck answering those questions and I can touch my nose of my tongue [Music] dropping pants there's no denying any one who sat through the Nicktoons CatDog was probably grossed out at some point or another the whole idea of a cat and dog sharing the same body led to all kinds of gross-out humor and crazy gags and some pretty insane plots in the episode where cat dog works at a restaurant the content was a little more tame than others children may have picked up on a joke involving nudity swear and some sly ways to rhyme that swear with other familiar words as cat dog works with the grey sir dogs in the kitchen the boss bursts in and demands all the workers to show some class in the same moment lumic dog begins to drop his pants insinuating he heard a whole different word than flax we see his pants go down halfway and revealing a pair of boxers before the boss corrects him and says he said glass the moment is easy to catch on - and children can only assume what lumic dog meant the moment was pretty obvious and makes you wonder how the joke got passed [ __ ] executives verbal puns may not seem like a lot but what it mixes with everything else you end up with a long list moments no one beats the king of dears net gets censored the language on Nickelodeon is typically clean as shows try to avoid censorship and foul words as much as possible one of the more popular exceptions to this is the spongebob episode where dolphin noises replaced dirty words he mean another example comes from meds declassified school guide in the episode guide to dares and bad habits each of the characters try to break their bad habits and things got a little too too classified for Mo's bows has a bad habit of talking trash on the volleyball court but these aren't your normal playground taunts while watching a recap of the team's volleyball game Lois goes on a cursed Laden rant conveniently bleeped out by the referees whistles her trash-talking was so long and intense she would have made Conor McGregor blush not to mention get kicked off the middle school sports team well at least she learned her lesson and stopped her trash-talking right nope as soon as most stops trash-talking on the court she loses her focus and does terrible she ends up taping her mouth shut and screaming expletives through the tape great lesson for all those cursing kiddos out there bad sportsmanship and a sailor's mouth all in one episode what are we gonna do well we could stay back here and Snoodle victorious goes under the knife live-action shows like iCarly and drake and josh provided preteen nick viewers some more mature content including fun jokes and great role models to look up to victorious was another popular entry in the Teen Nick lineup as fans watched characters go to the Hollywood Arts High School the characters learn to balance friendships workloads and the everyday social issues in high school but one episode gives young girls the completely lesson in the episode Toria the zombie Tori has a hideous mask glued to her face and she cannot get it off as she tries to figure out a plan her sister offers to call a plastic surgeon for help while on the phone Trina asks about different services and makes a joke about getting a breast augmentation while happily looking down at her chest whether it's a joke or not young girls and teens in high school should not be thinking about plastic surgery at all let alone breast augmentation the joke wall quick makes it seem like changes like that are the norm for the characters and the show keeps really bad lessons on body image the team should be celebrated for who they are not looking for artificial ways to try and improve something that doesn't need to change hopefully Tori's ugly monster mask kept viewers distracted from that moment my boy mm and Stimpy's visual gags we can only imagine that some young children were traumatized by Ren & Stimpy the two crazy animals went on some adventures that were absolutely bonkers made little sense and featured some of the craziest animation ever seen there was so much content to push the limits of children programming it was a little hard to pick just one yes we'll try to narrow it down to five or so first up the naked family that's right in the episode entitled big baby scam Ren and Stimpy poses as big babies to move in with a family the family they chose couldn't be Otter they have a ritual known as family bathtub where everyone gets into the tub naked together by the end of the episode Ren and Stimpy are beat up by the real naked babies who are supposed to go to the house ad in the random naked scenes with some extreme violence there's violent attacks on characters or the obnoxiously long scene where Ren gets rubbed up against a man's nasty stubble over and over and over again yeah where the time Ren lost all his teeth and had nerve endings hanging out from his gum the visuals were tense often uncomfortable to watch and properly give children a lot of weird anxiety now you to have fun with your little cousins grandpa Lu is a perv it's pretty safe to say a majority of the Rugrats is pre-safe kids sure there's a little potty humor but nothing that pushes the limits and sure the parents would do anything rather than watch their own children but we wouldn't have the fun adventures without them the one controversial part of the show comes from grandpa Lou Lou is both Tommy and Angelica's grandfather often chosen to serve as the inept and constantly napping babysitter to the children in one episode grandpa Lou decides to rent some movies for the kids and he gets one of its own the name of the film lonely space vixen by the look at the cover entitle the movie is clearly some type of low-budget adult film if that's loose thing it's fine yes the worst part of it all is him showing off the tape to Tommy and Chuckie the innocent babies look on as Lou raises his eyebrows up and down and has a good laugh about the whole thing meanwhile a bunch of children watching at home are asking what loudly space vixens is about and why the women on the cover are really wearing the SpongeBob's prison humor on the surface well below the surface SpongeBob SquarePants seems as innocent as they come the character has a normal job enjoys hobbies like catching jellyfish and could spend the whole day singing while skipping along with Sponge Bob often comes off as pretty naive but there are obviously some things he knows about we are completely unaware of sometimes he plays things off coyly when we can tell the character knows more than he is leaning onto a perfect example of this is when Sponge Bob uses a classic prison joke with his pet snail Gary Sponge Bob and Gary are in the bathroom when the yellow guy pulls out two bars of soap he then proceeds to tell Gary how important it is to not drop the soap spongebob then follows up the line with a knowing wink what happens in the prison's of Bikini Bottom the joke insinuates something completely inappropriate for children to learn about and the wig like a direct action to any parents watching and getting the joke oddly spongebob places the soap towards the ground and his body bends over at the same time adding more visuals to the clear pun only a staple of many childhoods was Nickelodeon the classic shows great Nick tunes and game shows made for hours and hours of television through the years shows have come and gone but his fans look back on their favorites some pretty shocking theories have boiled to the surface see what characters actually died who crossed over onto other shows and what shocking revelations may come from your favorite Nicktoons before you watch click subscribe you'll join the notification squad and be the first to know of new content also can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out [Music] timmy turner is Danny Phantom growing up with fairy godparents is given Timmy Turner some great perks we followed his adventures through 10 seasons of the hit Nicktoons Fairly OddParents and even saw the addition of a third godparent by the name of poof Timmy can wish for anything he wants and gets to go on all sorts of adventures of course Timmy's fun only last to the age of 13 that's when the godparents have to move on from their assignment this left lots of fans wondering about the future of Timmy but the answer is clear according to a widespread theory upon turning 13 Timmy wishes to become a ghost fighting superhero and his whole world is transformed into Danny Phantom that's right a popular theory states that Danny Phantom and Timmy Turner are actually the same person the characters have very similar looks and the same color eyes supporting evidence can also be found through the show's supporting characters Chester looks like a younger version of - AJ is a younger version of Tucker and Trixie is a younger version of Paulina the characters not only look alike but they also have similar personality traits considering that both shows were created by Butch Hartman the connection makes more sense and is only even stronger spongebob is reborn for a show that's been on for nearly 20 years and Counting SpongeBob SquarePants has gone through several changes over this time one of the biggest differences between the personality and the way spongebob acts can be seen at the start of season 5 in this season spongebob appears much more childish he's not as intelligent as he once was and he does a lot more immature things with his friends like Patrick the drastic change in character points to one theory stating that spongebob was actually reborn after dying and that his newborn younger self doesn't have the same maturity as his previous incarnation did wondering when spongebob died and was reborn it's all on film for you in the first spongebob squarepants feature-length film spongebob and patrick are captured and brought to a beach souvenir shop they're put under a heated lamp at a table and dry out the movie shows a tear bring them back to life but real-life sponges are actually asexual can reproduce on their own spongebob didn't come back to life he was merely reborn again the younger and immature spongebob also explains why he didn't remain the manager of the Krusty Krab has seen at the end of the movie the fake Pete one of the more quirky and bizarre shows to ever appear on Nickelodeon was The Adventures of Pete and Pete the two brothers lived a strange life filled with superheroes ice cream men ants and pretty crazy scenarios involving friends and family things may just seem a little weirder when he consider a fan theory stating the younger Pete was actually a fictional manifestation of the older Pete basically it says that Pete had schizophrenia and he envisioned the younger Pete as a way to capture years of youthful adventures he missed out on Pete would also manifest other characters on the show like the strong man named Artie the theory has some evidence in the form of the way the characters act around Pete also for the simple fact that his parents would name both children by the same name the mom on the show also has a metal plate on her head which could have been the result of a condition passed down to the older Pete does the whole theory sound familiar it basically plays out like a child's version of Fight Club where Tyler Durden isn't a real character but still has the ability to interact and communicate with the narrator of the story crazy Steve kidnapped Carly producer and writer Dan Schneider has spent years developing shows for Nickelodeon he's had several back-to-back hits starting with Drake and Josh transitioning to iCarly and then eventually forming into crossover hits like victorious and Sam and cat there's one thing connecting the universe of all these shows and that's a character known as crazy steve played by Jerry Trainor crazy Steve made his debut and Drake and Josh as one of the movie theatre employees once icarly premiered the actor Jerry Trainor played Carly's older brother Spencer but fans quickly strung a theory together making you question whether Spencer is really Carly's brother at all the theory states that crazy Steve eventually killed Drake and Josh while kidnapping their younger sibling Megan through manipulation and brainwashing crazy Steve moved Megan to Seattle forced her to change her name to Carly and rest is history the theory seemed a little far-fetched at first that is until a random episode of Sam and cat showed crazy Steve and an insane asylum this helped make the final connection and revealed crazy steve was finally caught after Carly got away on the series finale of icarly if Sam and cat had continued to produce more episodes we may have gotten more answers about the true story of crazy Steve Drake and Josh the reality show every episode of Drake and Josh pretty much began the same way Drake and Josh would talk to the camera showcase their point of view and help set up the plot for the whole episode while it appeared to have been done as a creative choice later clues from down the line may reveal that Drake and Josh was actually a show within a show the reality show followed the characters lives as they dealt with their teenage years and their mixed family life some of the biggest clues to the reality show theory actually come from other Nick shows on Victorious multiple characters have referred to watching the show and on iCarly clips of the show have been shown one of the biggest clues comes from a character played by Yvette Nicole Brown on Drake and Josh Brown played the movie theater manager named Helen Dubois on Victorious the same character comes to take over as principal of Hollywood Arts High School if the characters on Victorious watched Drake and Josh and the same character shows up at their school then this is pretty much a confirmation that Drake and Josh was the reality show said in they're connected universes Oh Mac this is so great Steve's drug problem poor Blues Clues the preschool show we watched way beyond our preschool years has been under the microscope of rumors and theories for years some of the craziest rumors came when Steve left the show and was replaced by Joe but people still can't coming up with theories about the adventures a grown man has with his puppy Bloo as rumors of Steve's death and real life were proven to be false other rumors sparked up about the character and the stories he comes up with one of the more popular theories involves Steve taking drugs the characters use of heavy and hard drugs has created the whole alternate reality where blue and everything in his house comes to life how else would you explain talking salt and pepper shakers who had a child together named to pre-k things seemed even more drug-induced when Steve starts jumping into paintings and going on all sorts of crazy adventures right inside his own home these moments can all be seen as drug hallucinations for all we know Steve is just lounging in his big chair letting his mind run wild you can only imagine the drugs and lifestyle the character gone into when he left the house to Joe and headed off to college timmy turner's antidepressants The Fairly OddParents had ten seasons of happiness and adventures but it didn't always start out this way Timmy Turner was not a happy child at the beginning he had troubles at school was often neglected by his parents and he was forced to deal with Vicky his horrible babysitter according to a theory all of these factors led to depression to help with his depression Timmy didn't get the help of fairy godparents but rather was prescribed antidepressants he manifested into his alternate view of godparents each godparent timmy has could be broken down into different antidepressant medications the antidepressant Prozac is represented by Wanda Prozac is known for allowing a person to be calm and focused much like Wanda is in the series Cosmo represents the antidepressant medication known as Zoloft this works to make you more giddy and excited rather than depressed and represents exactly how Cosmo acts in the series the pills are taken in Timmy's room which just happens to be the place where the fairies appear anytime the fairies run out of magic or disappear it's essentially the pills wearing off and Timmy's depression starting to take hold again come to think of it we're getting a little depressed just thinking about this theory [Music] Jimmy neutrons government conspiracy Jimmy Neutron is a boy genius who entertained Knick fans for over a decade looking back on the series there were some odd things involving the characters and the town of retro Ville a widespread theory about the show puts everything into a perspective easy to explain Jimmy and the other children were genetically modified government experiments used to help with military research and inventions basically Jimmy's whole life is a big lie the town of retro Ville is a front with paid actors used to play citizens this is one of the reasons no one bats an eye when Jimmy flies around in a rocket or has some sort of crazy weapon this is also a reason why a number of Jimmy's inventions just happen to disappear once invented the government takes them for their own research development the theory is proven even further with the show's presence of area 86 the secret government facilities exist in retro Ville and are obviously the headquarters where Jimmy and all of his friends are tracked and researched Jimmy's work and inventions have been influenced by several seemingly random events in the town but maybe those were purposely created to get the new inventions the government needed are you afraid of the dark scariest ghosts one of Nickelodeon's greatest shows will always be are you afraid of the dark the anthology series followed a group of friends known as the midnight societies they took turns telling scary stories around a campfire aliens clowns and witches were just a few of the tales keeping kids up late at night in the 90s and early 2000s the show touched on many different subjects but one of the scariest aspects may have been the midnight society themselves a theory speculates that the midnight society was actually made up of the ghosts of teens who died young breaking down the various events can help shed light on this eerie theory the characters only showed up at night they were never seen in their everyday life and they all seemed to come from different directions in the woods their parents never cared how late they stayed out and none of them really touched on lives outside of their ghost story group when a new member joined the group they represented another tragic death of a team when a member left the group they crossed over to the other side as the midnight society represented a state of limbo until the teen ghosts can confront their darkest fears and sins now reliving the series just got a little scarier definitely something else [Music] Larissa explains it all to her children before Melissa Joan Hart wooed audiences with her witchy magic on Sabrina the Teenage Witch she was making fans with her likable character and family life on Clarissa explains it all the show lasted for five seasons on Nick and the final episode left us with a fantasy glimpse at the future but we never knew some of the future would become a reality in one of the more legitimate theories found from Nick shows the 90s series may have a connection to the 2004 series entitled Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide on the show we're never introduced to Ned's parents but we do learn that Ned's second surname is darling the same as Clarissa this could easily be brushed off as a random coincidence but a further clue about Ned's father adds more to the connection in another episode Ned refers to his father as Sam the name of klarissa's neighbor and love interest from the series this means that Ned could be the love child of Clarissa and Sam but it's pretty clear that Sam isn't stepping up to be the father he should be maybe he's too busy visiting other houses and climbing up windows with his trusty ladder of course the connection may seem legit if you ignore the release of the official Clarissa novel where if she's childless it seems like nickelodeon has had it pretty easy over the years well take a look behind the orange curtain to discover crazy controversies which almost took the whole network down before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad and be the first to know of new content can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out can you help us find my baby sister I wouldn't be in such a big hurry if I was you Tommy this meant the new baby gets here Rugrats gets cancelled can you imagine the Nicktoons legacy without the Rugrats the success of the show led to three theatrical movies including a crossover with The Wild Thornberrys if things panned out how they did in the early 90s the Rugrats might have fizzled out for good and come a Forgotten gem barely talked about today believe it or not but in 1994 the Rugrats was canceled with no new episodes ordered the reason behind this stems from the character of Angelica writers wanted to keep her more of a bully who boss the babies around and acted like a brat arlene klasky did not like this version of Angelica and Angelica's own voice actor didn't approve either the show's success was undeniable and Nik ordered it back into production for 96 at the show ended we would have lost out on the birth of dil the spin-off all grown up and several of the holiday specials which had become an annual tradition in many homes invader zim ends too soon in the early 2000s Nickelodeon was looking for more gritty Nicktoons that could push the limits when it came to style and content well they got exactly what they wished for in the form of invader zim the bizarre show follows Zim the alien as he invades earth and uses a hodgepodge of technology to try and take it over the show's outlandish plots and unique animation design helped it stand out from the lighter tones on the channel midway through season 2 invader zim ceased production out of nowhere several episodes already written and storyboarded were completely lost and abandoned fans were left hanging with no new episodes and no more crazy adventures with Zim rumors began to run rampant about the show's demise several factors played into it with one of the more common issues being the viewing audience the viewers actually watching invader zim were much older than the six to eleven age range the show was seeking for advertisers thanks to the die-hard older fanbase invader zim lived on through merchandise sales helping both Nickelodeon and Hot Topic at the same time even though fans had hard feelings against the network they continued to support the show which ended wait way too soon hey man hit me when you get this passing on Adventure Time looking back on your failures can make you feel depressed but Nickelodeon's case they missed out on what could have been one of their biggest hits of all time an animation block on Nicktoons showcased previews to a bunch of potential new shows one of the options was Adventure Time yeah that advanced your time after airing on Nick first the network's determined the show was too weird to sign up for a full season order what a huge mistake it turned out to be Cartoon Network swooped in raised the competition and Adventure Time is one of the most popular cartoons over the past several years during this time Nickelodeon really missed out Adventure Time officially premiered in 2010 in the same year Nickelodeon premiered tough puppy and Planet Sheen those two show is barely extended beyond the original runs and are all but forgotten about today [Music] evolve would you be so kind as to hang these two young fellers Ren and Stimpy get banned during the same time period Nickelodeon premiered family-friendly Nicktoons like Rugrats and Doug we also got to witness the rise of Ren and Stimpy hello the oddball duo went on crazy adventures pushed the limits of physical comedy and featured some surreal moments long before college students were watching and discussing their favorite spongebob episodes Ren instant these antics were the topic of discussion the show loved to push the limits of censors and tried to get away with as much as it could what example of this was the season two episode entitled man's best friend in the episode Stimpy beats a character George to a bloody pulp the shocking scene caused the episode to get banned especially after parents complained about the content their young children were being exposed to behind the scenes more controversy was brewing when the show's creator John crispy Lucy stopped meeting deadlines and was eventually fired for his lack of work ethic and skipping out on the job the show lived on but found better homes by airing on networks like MTV and Spike TV instead of Nickelodeon dear diary hi it's me Doug Doug moves away on the first episode of Nicks Doug Doug funnie moves to bluffington with his family four seasons into the hit Nick show Doug and his family would move again but not out of bluffington in a rare move Disney purchased the rights to Doug and produce their own version of the show for a Saturday morning lineup the move was truly unprecedented but it also came with a lot of criticism Nick lost a lot of their Saturday morning viewers as Doug aired alongside recess and pepper and fans were critical of some of the creative changes the show made but Disney did what Nickelodeon should have and produced a feature-length dubbed movie budgeted at only 5 million dollars the movie went on to make around 20 million in just theaters alone Disney profited huge off of Doug and Nickelodeon was left with a huge mistake on their hands in the end Disney ended up with around just as many episodes and built an audience to enjoy the show as multiple shows begin making television combats and revivals maybe Nick can correct their error and get the rights to Doug once again [Music] I'm sorry old friend I didn't mean to be crude Rocko's Modern affair after the departure of ren and stimpy from the Nicktoons line up the network needed a quirky replacement they got exactly what they wished for with the out-there show known as Rocko's Modern Life right out of the gate the show presented viewers with a crazy world filled with outlandish stories and a number of jokes petered directly to adults one of the very first episodes of the show pushed things to the limit and was banned from TV for nearly 10 years in the episode entitled leapfrogs Rocco's neighbors Bev and edy bighead are going through some marital issues instead of working things out Bev decides to set her sights on Rocko to make her husband jealous the scenes that follow featured Bev try all types of seduction and using quotes which imply sexual innuendo at one point Bev and Rocko share kiss together just to make Angelus the whole thing makes a mockery of marriage in adultery in general a few parent complaints later in the episode was pulled from rotation if leapfrogs continued to air a few more complaints could have had the whole show pulled off the air for good the episode returned to rotation and can be seen random times while airing on Team Nicks the splat quiet rumors in the loud house for the past few years nick is relied on longstanding cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants and The Fairly OddParents to lead their animation blocks through reruns and television specials the network finally seems to have a new hit on their hands in the form of loud house the traditionally animated cartoon follows a young boy who lives in a home with eleven sisters the chaos and fun storylines have caught on with children in the show is a bonafide hit for the network too bad it almost ended before it just started getting good loud house was created by Chris Savino but Savino got into a lot of trouble when multiple sexual harassment allegations came out about the showrunner Nick was quick to respond to the allegations instead of cancelling loud house they saved the show in Kansas Aveeno instead now the animators and workers have a safe environment and children can enjoy a hit cartoon that doesn't have a sponge in it season three is currently airing and nick has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to release a theatrical adaptation of the show Savino may have based initial episodes off his own childhood but now that Nick has controlled they will find empty of ways to keep the show on the air adapting The Last Airbender Avatar The Last Airbender featured a whole different type of animation when it first premiered on Nickelodeon back in 2005 the show featured an anime style featured characters from all different types of cultures and played the drama almost completely serious as opposed to some of the more silly cartoons featured on the network with a number of special effects in combat the big screen version of The Last Airbender should have been a spectacular event instead it became a critical and financial bomb for several reasons the movie nearly tarnished the legacy of the cartoon and could damper any chances of future Nickelodeon live-action movies one of the biggest problems came with the casting a number of cultural characters from the show were recast with white actors as cast posters were released fans were already angry at the unnecessary changes M night Shyamalan was behind the camera for the movie the result was a film that felt like a shell of the animated series and the huge disappointment to fans you know bro this is kind of nice what I tell you hmm angry beavers breaks the fourth wall originally premiering in 1997 the angry beavers felt fresh funny and had two good characters to root for lasting for four seasons the show provided a lot of comic relief and fitted nicely with other animated shows like pi real monsters and done by the fourth season the show ran its course and had plenty of episodes set for syndication the creators of the angry beavers were informed of the cancellation and decided to create a very special finale the only problem no one would get to see it the angry beavers series finale pretty much broke every rule nick has for their cartoons back in the day Nick didn't want any true series finales for show's final episode was supposed to be just a regular episode and things could get tied up in a movie or television special nip it needed to well in the angry beavers episode the characters learn they are cartoons and are getting canceled from television they spend the episode trying to escape their fade and often break the fourth wall another big no-no back in the day well the beavers probably got angry as the show is pulled and has still never aired but storyboards from the episode were release hmm climate change in bikini bottom SpongeBob SquarePants would probably never be considered a highly political show but there was a time when an episode made news headlines both on TV and online the episode itself isn't even an official episode that aired on TV but rather an educational short produced for children to discuss the impacts of humans on global warming entitled the endless summer the story follows mr. Krabs as he tries to increase his carbon footprint by releasing extra emissions into the air his goal is to make Bikini Bottom so hot that everyone pays to use the newly installed pool at the back of the restaurant the short itself is very educational teaches children basic concepts and has been used in numerous classrooms if Fox News had their way the whole thing would have been pulled from the air and never shown again the news network claimed the episode feeds into a conspiracy that humans are the cause of increased global warming yet the anchors not only insulted the episode but the whole series in general despite multiple reports attacking the show Nickelodeon kept using the short for educational purposes and based their research off of true scientific findings rather than opinions Wow well there you have it what Theory do you believe the most are there any we missed what is your favorite Nick show let us know in the comments section below don't forget to like this video share it and subscribe to screen rent on YouTube so you can stay up to date with our awesome videos thanks for watching [Music] as a child watching Nick shows seemed great on the surface but as we grow up we see there may have been a lot more to the show than we realize see some of the craziest Nickelodeon theories involving hit shows like the Rugrats iCarly SpongeBob SquarePants and Jimmy Neutron boy genius you may never look at these Nick shows the same again before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad to be the first to know of new Screen Rant content the last thing she loaded it was a poem for you on Rugrats it took years before Chucky's real mom was finally revealed in a Mother's Day special she died when Chucky was barely a newborn but one theory states that she may not have been his mom in the first place the theory proposes that Dede pickles is Chucky's actual mom they have similar looks Chucky's dad gets along great with Dede and Chucky spends an awful lot of time hanging out at the pickles household maybe Stu shouldn't have spent so much time in the basement tinkering with his toys Tommy and Chucky's friendship could grow even stronger if the two knew they were related a helmet for a preschool show like Blue's Clues there sure are a lot of theories about the content characters and plot no we're not talking about the birth of paprika but rather Steve's rule on the show he constantly talks to a group of kids sings songs and plays silly games one theory states Steve's house is actually a daycare and each episode is him simply taking care of the children this explains why Steve acts the way he does and how he doesn't figure out Blue's Clues so much faster obviously the gig didn't pay enough as Joe came in and took over after a few seasons the live-action format of Drake and Josh was loved by fans and led to many questions in the opening of each episode the characters talked to the camera and basically narrate their feelings many fans have come to the conclusion that Drake and Josh is a reality show set in the Nick universe many other characters on Nick shows like icarly and victorious have watched to Drake in Josh episodes within their worlds some of the same characters have also appeared in those shows making them exist in the world the reality show offers a real-life perspective of mixed families and the journey to young teens must go through SpongeBob SquarePants is filled with all kinds of theories and mixed messages but do they involve the seven deadly sins many fans have assigned a deadly sin to each character on the show naturally mr. Krabs represents greed the gut buddy right Patrick represents sloth and sandy represents pride this leaves wrath for Squidward lust for spongebob gluttony for Gary and envy for plankton whether the creator's intended this or not each role fits the character perfectly and often ends up being some of their biggest flaws while going on adventures yes baby pictures baby Freddie in the bathtub one of the biggest mysteries icarly never answered was who the father of Freddie Benson actually was a bizarre fan theory points out his father may be none other than a bee Barry Benson to be exact the animated be played the starring role in b-movie and he finds a connection with a human woman who looks eerily similar to mrs. Benson the theory became so popular that actor nathan kress tweeted about it and jokingly confirmed the theory was true [Applause] SpongeBob's formula for success hasn't changed much over the years but his maturity has sure gone downhill fads marked the release of the Spongebob Squarepants movie and 5th season premiere as two points where SpongeBob's actions shifted into a more childish tone the theory spongebob died and was reborn the moment happened on the big screen when Sponge Bob dries out on the beachside souvenir shop the reborn spongebob is naturally more immature as he learns to grow and accept his new identity the classic Nicktoons doug follows the perspective of doug funnie as his family moves to a new town and doug must navigate his complicated social life many fans point out Doug's blatant racism through the views of his mind anyone on the show with different skin colors are viewed by Doug with really wild skin tones including skeeters light blue while doug tries to pass it off as an innocent imagination fans believe he is naively racist based on his upbringing in the years before the show began sorry it means escape the core of are you afraid of the dark revolved around the midnight society a group of teens who told tales of terror each night but where did these kids come from they rarely talked about their personal lives outside of the group and one theory states that they're all actually dead and ghosts themselves the midnight society is actually a state of limbo the characters who left the group have finally crossed over to the other side magic pyramid for all the answers Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide could also be a guide to the Illuminati if one fan theory is true in the episode failing Ned uses a magical pyramid to solve all the answers on a quiz he takes the pyramid features the all-seeing eye on one side and the side always faces towards the camera fans theorized the episode is clearly promoting the power of the Illuminati unfortunately a teacher smashes the pyramid in the episode of leaving a lot of unanswered questions Butch Hartman is known for creating Nicktoons like The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom not only are the animation styles the same between both shows but the characters are eerily similar and have led to many fan theories one of these theories is that Danny Phantom is a grownup version of Timmy Turner after using the power of the fairies Timmy goes under the assumed name of dead and has the ability to connect to both the real world and ghost dimension the similar looks hairstyles and actions of the characters really help connect the two shows on the Amanda show Amanda Bynes was constantly stalked by a crazed look-alike with the name Penelope while Penelope was an alter ego played by Bynes as well many fans believe she was real kidnapped amanda Bynes and assumed her identity in the real world the theory explains some of Bynes his bizarre actions in real life and obviously Penelope could not act as well as Bynes giving us a good reason for her lack of film roles in the past several years SpongeBob's biggest mystery still remains after so many years what is inside a krabby patty well according to several theories the ingredient is actually crab itself that's right mr. Krabs kills his own kind to make profits and craft the most delicious patty sandwich the theory stems from the name of the restaurant Varys Burger King Taco Bell and Dairy Queen all with food in the title it would make sense that the Krusty Krab would actually include crab on the menu you're welcome plankton [Music] Rocko's Modern Life was a trip to watch with some crazy plots and wacky animation the show didn't have much direction and anything could really happen in an episode many fans have determined Rocko's Modern Life creators actually set out to make the most perverted cartoon in history there's the restaurant choke ease chicken Rocco's random job as an adult phone line operator and some crazy jokes involving cow udders for some reason many children's show theories involve the characters and drug use one of them is Steve from Blue's Clues Steve's drug problems led to the character seeing all types of things around his home talking furniture talking food and a singing mailbox were just some of the objects who came to life to talk to the drug induced Steve then there's the times when Steve would jump into paintings as if they were real-life locations by the time Joe came around Steve was off to rehab not college Bikini Bottom is a strange place fish talk some of them have weird mutations and there's a text in the squirrel who decided to spend her life researching underwater how did it all occur Wow one theory places the blame on nuclear radiation many of the buildings are said to be shells of nuclear bombs and the bombs have mutated the fish and other sea creatures to form the characters we know and love how else would you explain a clarinet loving octopus connecting shows is a great way to build theories and one far-reaching theory helps connect the world of iCarly to Drake and Josh on Drake and Josh the character crazy Steve worked at the local movie theater he was played by Jeremy Trainor the same actor who played Spencer on iCarly the theory states that crazy Steve and Spencer are the same character Steve kidnapped Drake and Josh's younger sister Megan took her to Seattle and brainwashed her to think she was actually named Carly and living in an apartment with her brother process the theory for a minute it actually makes a lot of sense [ __ ] is really upset when Doug moved to bluffington he met a number of new characters including the eccentric mr. dink but was there more to mr. dink than meets the eye he was always popping up in random locations took Doug to his secret shed and his only friends seemed to be children mr. dink may have a child predator who covered his tracks using various inventions and gadgets Doug covered up any memories of mr. Dinks dirty deeds using his active imagination and daydreams dirts Shakespeare Scottish kings and don't know the Keanu Reaves advanced acting course Jimmy Neutron was a certified genius with the ability to invent robots explore space and create all kinds of useful inventions yet everyone in retro Ville mostly ignored his special abilities or shrugged him off as child's play a theory related to the town of retro Ville involves a large government cover-up Jimmy Neutron lives in a Truman Show type of situation involving the government tracking Jimmy's every move and using his inventions to their advantage by making Jimmy feel like he's living a normal childhood he continues to grow and invent new things one of the biggest questions involved in the classic Nicktoons Hey Arnold is the presence of stoop KITT why was he so dedicated to his stoop according to one theory stupid kid was forced to stay on the stoop because the building he sat at was actually home to a huge drug operation stoop kid had to stay on his stoop to prevent anyone from going into the building and kept an eye out for any possible police activity or suspicious people we imagine stupid kid got into major trouble when Arnold finally got him off the stoop if you ever thought it was two brothers who were named Pete well then we have a theory for you on The Adventures of Pete and Pete one theory states that the younger Pete is not even real he's the manifestation of the older Pete the younger Pete is more daring and does things the older Pete wishes he did when he was younger by living vicariously through the younger brother Pete feels more satisfied about the less adventurous life he lives the next time you watch Pete and Pete keep this theory in mind and the show will give you a whole new perspective I don't know if I like if you haven't watched Nickelodeon in a long time the next time you tune in everything may feel a little similar no it's not another repeat one theory states Nick went through a big remade stage to try and relaunch some of their shows that were a little less popular back in the day for example the old show brothers Garcia was remade into Ricky Dicky Mickey and Don the show Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide was remade into 100 things to do before high school and then there's the show Marvin Marvin a show very similar to the journey of Alan strange the stories and characters in each of the show counterparts are nearly identical to each other Clarissa explains it all and did far earlier than it should have of course the show wouldn't have lasted long enough to show Clarissa have children but a theory quickly spread over the internet connecting Clarissa to the show Ned's Declassified according to rumours Ned was actually the child of Sam and Clarissa and even mentioned them by name unfortunately the theory was debunked when the scenes and episodes mentioned in the theory didn't even exist fortunately Sabrina's due to make her big return to TV and we'll get some real answers about her future timmy turner was living a miserable life before the fairies arrived he had neglectful parents a horrible babysitter and some pretty strict school teachers according to a popular theory timmy never got fairies food was prescribed multiple antidepressants Cosmo and Wanda represent both Zoloft and Prozac giving Timmy hope happiness and optimism when Timmy over uses their magic he actually overdoses on the pills and has to suffer from some pretty crazy side effects yikes this one was a little depressing I'm not crazy Danny phantoms whole premise is pretty crazy even for a cartoon he's a superhero who battles ghosts and supernatural creatures across multiple dimensions but is it all real a theory about the show states that everything after the pilot actually didn't happen Danny fell into a coma and everything that happens with his superhero Adventures is actually all just part of his dreamlike coma state the aula dream theories are done for many shows but this one is more convincing than others doctor are you sure maybe we should get a second opinion the world of the Rugrats includes multiple seasons feature films and spin-off shows like all grown up with so much content there are bound to be a ton of theories and many have spread around over the years one of the most popular theories involves the existence of the Rugrats altogether the dark-dark theory states that all of the babies are actually dead and the only way for Angelica to cope is by imagining the babies are all still alive the deaths of the babies are pretty sad as well and involves still births car accidents and miscarriages among others thankfully all grown-ups pretty much debunked the theory and showcases how the Rugrats are all alive and well I'm the manager at this establishment cartoons have always been an important part of our childhood and some of the best part toons have been those that came from one of the legendary Studios Nickelodeon nick has been praised for its programming but what if we told you that sometimes nick has made headlines for the wrong reasons before we get started on some shocking secrets be sure to hit that red subscribe button to stay up to date on all things screen rants the great Angelica view if you're a fan of the 90s then chances are you will be flooded with major nostalgia feels when we mention a little show called Rugrats maybe avert iment of course you have the show is one of the first Nicktoons that were ever created and if you're familiar with the time period you'll know that the humor and what was allowed on television was a lot different and like with the first round of most shows it was all about finding the right balance of what was kid-friendly and what was a little too much blood rats was a bit more on the cautious side compared to some other Nicktoons we're looking at you Ren and Stimpy however there was a debate among the writing staff about how to handle Angelica's meanness arlene klasky thought that the toddler Angelica was too much on the mean side however Paul Germain thought that she dealt with some of the heavier emotions that come with childhood both sides can be argued but alas Jermaine was kicked off the show along with several other writers in 1993 the show was canceled in 94 but rose to massive popularity through syndication so naturally more episodes were produced in 1996 this time with a little bit less meanness to it might be Oh baby Oh baby [Music] Rocco's romance life you know the saying that times change and if you look back at some of Nickelodeon's older cartoons and content it's pretty clear how much has changed what are the more adult kids shows on the network was of course Rocko's Modern Life if you go back and watch the show there are plenty of moments which make you question why this was ever on a kids network just go back and watch it you'll see what we mean there are so many innuendos and jokes that you miss as a kid although it was less gross and not as mean as some of the other shows it did tend to go a bit far with it's not so subtle adult content it was definitely no surprise when the show eventually went a little too far with its episode leapfrogs in this episode missus bighead the croaky voice toad was trapped in a loveless marriage and was desperate for a little bit of attention from a man and so Bev bighead tries to seduce Rocco as you can imagine the theme of adultery was too much and was deemed too inappropriate for kids which resulted in the episode being pulled from the air listen Doug try to concentrate give up the Doug shows get cancelled all the time and sometimes we hope for them to get picked up and saved by other networks however in the case of Doug many fans feel as though it was better left alone but 1996 Doug transitioned over to Disney and joined their Saturday morning lineup doug was such a hit they ended up making a Doug movie in 1999 talk about success so what's not to love well naturally Disney made some changes like with the unique music they changed the theme song which was one of the best parts of the show they also changed the characters like Connie a character who was curvy ended up being turned skinny it was even part of the plot Roger got turned into a rich kid and no longer lived in a trailer park Doug got a baby sister and he was voiced by a completely different actor fans are still not happy about it today have no fear I have many powers of vision angry beavers last episode in the era of Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy we also had the three beavers again another show that was technically a kids show but the subject matter was not so innocent the premise followed two brothers nor bird and Dagon fever who left home to go out and explore the world all while getting into escapades and shenanigans but after four seasons the angry beavers was to come to a close so what do you do when your show is over well go out with a bang right co-creator Keith Catterick decided he wanted the final episode to have the beavers Norbert and Daggett realize that they were cartoon characters in a show that was about to be canceled although breaking the fourth wall works for some stories we were looking at you Jen pool it was a no-no in Nickelodeon's book and so the last episode was canceled a little ironic don't you think please Zoe gets cancelled but don't you just hate it when your favorite shows get cancelled when you're not even expecting it Zoey 101 was one of Nickelodeon's highest-rated shows it originally aired in 2005 and followed Teen Zoey Brooks played by Jamie Lynn Spears as she enrolls in Pacific Coast Academy the school only allowed boys previously so we follow her and her friends they've journey through boarding school although the show only lasted three years it received high praise including an Emmy nomination for outstanding children's program Jamie Lynn Spears was one of the most popular teen stars and was at the top of her game and not just because she was Britney's a little sister so why would a show like this come to an end well there are some complications the star of the show became pregnant and while that might not have been an issue on regular TV shows this was a kids show and miss Jamie Lynn was only 16 years old although it's unclear if that's the reason why it ended it has also been said that the show just ran its course can't all be a coincidence though right invader zim trial be careful what you ask for because he just might get it Nickelodeon wanted to bring some edge to the network and they got it when they took a chance on Jonah and Vasquez the show was totally different and unlike anything we have ever seen yet landish humour and characters were a hit among viewers show unfortunately got cancelled midway through the production of its second season it wasn't any issues with censorship believe it or not but rather the expensive high-quality CG animations but the show remained a cult classic especially with merchandise so how could this awesome show about an alien receive any flak well will tell you the only thing worse than being cancelled is to be mentioned by a defendant during a murder trial in 2005 a young woman was found murdered in her home and her neighbor was arrested and charged for murder the killer mentioned a fascination with an episode of invader zim called dark harvest in which Zim collects human organs in an attempt to seem more human needless to say invader zim his reputation suffered after this however some witnesses say that his comments were made in passing and were not to be taken too seriously no time for adventure if you're a fan of cartoons and are still a kid or a kid at heart chances are you've seen or at least heard of the Cartoon Network hit show and venture time the show is full of random nonsense creativity imagination and some of the strangest characters and plots the show is kooky wacky and downright strange to say the least but overall it's an excellent time the popular cartoon fantasy is about magic adventure and all kinds of awesome stuff you might be thinking what to Finn the human and Jake the dog have to do with Nickelodeon well have we got a story for you nickelodeon has a segment called Nickelodeon's random cartoons and in 2007 they had their hands on something big Pendleton Ward's original pilot of Adventure Time was in their grasp but they turned it down not just once but twice turns out it was just a little bit too weird you think Nickelodeon would be all over this but alas they weren't the pilot went viral and the rest as they say is history show totally revitalized Cartoon Network's programming wonder if Nickelodeon regrets their decision what do you think Rugrats anti-semitism controversy we know what you're thinking Rugrats is in here for a second time oh yes friends this popular show was not free from controversy Rugrats has been praised for its depiction of Judaism and was popular among Jewish families for its portrayal of the half Jewish family the pickles the show had a Passover and Chanukah special and gave kids some insights into Jewish ceremonies and family traditions arlene klasky who is a jewish woman from a mixed family as well believed that cultural representation was important which fans loved so it was quite a bit of a shock when the anti-defamation league accused a Rugrats newspaper comic strip of anti-semitism in 1998 the outrage happened over a comic strip that featured grandpa Boris reciting a prayer at Rosh Hashanah services while the protagonist baby the Curious Tommy pickles sits wondering what the adults are doing the strip in question was not meant to be disrespectful in any way but Abe Foxman of the anti-defamation league accused Boris's design of resembling anti-semitic Nazi era depictions of Jewish people Nickelodeon's response was to withdraw the comic strip from circulation SpongeBob's endless summer getting your boatmobile and rev up those fryers because we are sure hungry for some more spongebob news the lovable sea sponge with the infectious laughter is a force to be reckoned with he's been around for almost two decades and almost every kid knows his name but as with every great show it is not without its share of commotion and controversy and among the many surrounding spongebob throughout the years there was one in 2011 involving the hosts of Fox & Friends the episode in question the endless summer follows mr. Krabs trying to put more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to accelerate global warming and create an endless summer that way everyone will pay to go to his pool Fox and Friends attacked Sponge Bob and said the show only presents one side of the argument the accused Sponge Bob in the Department of Education for pushing a global warming agenda at an event by handing out copies of the book Sponge Bob goes green an earth-friendly event however farts and friends accusation was inaccurate the Department of Education did not show cartoons at the event and the book was one of the many available for kids to choose from Oh Ren and Stimpy band episode when you think of sick and disturbing cartoons we are willing to bet that Ren and Stimpy is pretty high on that list as you may know Ren and Stimpy was notorious for pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable for kids cartoons on more than several occasions the show is always more popular with the older kids needless to say each episode always took it to the limit with its dark sense of humor but one particular episode was so brutally violent that it caused it to be banned immediately by Nickelodeon the episode in question is called man's best friend this episode totally crossed the line and when it comes to Ren & Stimpy that's saying a whole lot the episode featured its regular questionable humor and references to tobacco but one scene in particular was too much to handle the scene depicted Ren using an oar to beat a character named George to a bloody pulp nick executives flag that is too violent which led crater John Crispo Lucy to be fired and the episode was removed from syndication the only shocking thing about this was that it wasn't banned earlier as we transitioned into middle school and slowly started to mature Nickelodeon kept us around thanks to their teennick programming block a variety of shows featured the great Nick comedy and entertainment we loved but sometimes things went a little dark watched to see shocking storylines mature themes and some episodes that were downright banned from ever airing again before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad to be the first to know of brand new content and can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out dude I said I was sorry nerd let's don't be mad at me the manager Drake and Josh for many of us the adventures of Drake and Josh was a comedy hit where we grew connected to the characters and their ongoing stories the stepbrothers often had crazy shenanigans and would often pull each other into convoluted plots involving school relay chips and work well the pals would bicker a lot things were never as serious as in the episode entitled josh is done after Drake forces Josh to miss an important exam Josh decides to end their friendship and start living separate lives throughout the course of the episode Drake's life slowly unravels until he reaches a dramatic breaking point played up with complete seriousness Drake goes on to explain to josh how much he needs him how much his life is better with him in it and how sorry he is for the actions he caused the whole scene is pretty deep and has even more context now knowing the real-life rift between the two actors by the end of the episode there's no big happy ending but they do end up playing a game of ping-pong together in an effort to repair their damaged relationship the episode showcases how friendships don't last forever and how important it is to never take a friend for granted Akko goes to heck for a show about a wallaby Rocko's Modern Life sure explored some pretty dark subjects Rocko's best friend heifer has two different experiences with the show's version of Hell simply referred to as heck on the show in the episode - hacking back pepper chokes on a chicken bone and his presumed death forces the character down to heck there he meets peaches the animated form of the devil who spends their time torturing heifer the imagery maybe frightening to younger crowds in the trapped world of hack feels like torture while watching the episode just when you think heifer has escaped heck we learned he is still trapped there and peaches continues to play games one of the darkest parts is when peaches removes the black hood to reveal a scary face with squirting cow udders on top of their head peaches in the world of heck returns for the episode half in a handbasket this dark episode turns hack into a creepy game show where no one truly wins both episodes received complaints from viewers and were banned for a while before being reintroduced through team NIC reruns now you can see glimpses of an animated hell when Rocko's Modern Life is featured on late-night episodes of team Nicks Splatt morty the strongest man in the world suddenly we had the Xmas hat head like a Lima Bean The Adventures of Pete and Pete Halloween episodes and children's program is typically pretty standard some episodes may have a few scares other features fun costumes and then there's The Adventures of Pete and Pete Nick show about two brothers with the same name premiered in 1993 and aired for three seasons the quirky show featured a lot of surreal stories with dark themes but none were as dark as the Halloween episode entitled Halloween the episode starts out with creepy visuals and only gets creepier from there one of the darkest parts of the story involves a group of kids known as the pumpkin eaters these teens terrorized the town every year on Halloween with each one wearing a pumpkin with a terrifying carving on it another main storyline in the episode focuses on big Pete's transition from trick-or-treating you must deal with the sad truth of being too old to trick-or-treat and missing the glory days of collecting as much candy as possible everything in the episode comes to a head as both Pete's must take on the pumpkin eaters while losing the innocence of Halloween the final scenes all take place in a closed-down haunted house only adding to the scares and creepiness of the episode Kenan & Kel Kenan & Kel is show that never took themselves too seriously the characters often found themselves in crazy situations engaged in physical comedy and always hatched plans which ended up going wrong one way or another then out of nowhere the show featured one of their more serious episodes entitled bye bye Kenan a two-part season finale featured some of the most dramatic moments from the whole Kenan & Kel series the plot follows a story where Keenan's father needs to move the family because of a new job promotion unlike most shows where the move is canceled Keenan's family actually goes through with it showcasing scenes of the two best friends saying goodbye was actually hard to watch and you would never expect to be so attached to a bottle of orange soda one of the saddest moments was when Kel arrives to say five but the whole rockmar family has already left he reveals a big portrait of him and Kenan he wanted to give us a goodbye gift way too many fields for a goofy over-the-top sitcom thankfully the days of Kenan and Kel weren't over even was able to get his father fired as the family moved back to town so Kenan and Kel 'z adventures could continue on the Amanda Show in recent years amanda Bynes real life has gone through some pretty dark times but young viewers could see shades of her breakdown just by watching her sketch comedy series The Amanda Show the show features some pretty nutty characters and a lot of sketches which push the limits of comedy one of the darker episodes was simply known as episode 29 of The Amanda Show after originally airing the show has been banned from Nickelodeon and has never aired again on the network the only way to officially see it is by purchasing the season 2 DVD collection the reason the episode was originally banned is because of the dark content featured just before the terrorist attacks of 2001 the opening sketch of the show features an Italian man blowing himself up on stage later in the episode things get a little darker with a sketch entitled the luckless 'as the family who is constantly down on their luck meets their demise when a meteor crashes down and destroys their whole house the large explosion an aftermath looked a little too similar to planes crashing into the World Trade Center and was quickly pulled by Nickelodeon instead of replacing the sketch or removing it completely the network just stopped airing the episode altogether why don't I help you with those bags yeah that'd be nice icarly's dark days on iCarly the show wasn't afraid to tackle more mature storylines in terms of pure emotion nothing was sadder than the series finale when Carly moves away and Sam rides off into the sunset for darker themes the show has ventured on to some pretty dark territory too episodes focused on nora dershlit an obsessed fan of the show who ends up trapping the cast members in her basement Nora's character was off-the-wall and did some pretty crazy things to characters as the episode focused on kidnapping and entrapment I psycho wouldn't be one of iCarly's darkest episodes though the episode I rue the day was instantly put on Nickelodeon's radar and banned for a long time before returning to air in recent years the episode dives deep into Internet hacking not really focusing on the morals of hack viewers are made to believe hacking is a game and after the lead characters become victims of a hack they vow revenge by hacking back themselves after the huge Sony hack the episode was pulled from airwaves so young teens were encouraged to start exploring hacking methods of their own because before you know it children will be trying to unlock iPhones and shut down YouTube channels all in the name of iCarly the story of god is about three kinds of people people who believe in magic people who dumped the tail of the super specs for scares on Nickelodeon young teens would turn to the anthology series are you afraid of the dark children grew up experiencing some of the more horrifying scares including clowns ghosts pirates and creatures in the woods each episode typically featured 20 minutes of fear with a couple extra minutes of happy conclusion but there were a few exceptions one of those exceptions is the dark episode known as the tale of the super specks like many other episodes the story starts off in Zord oohs magic shop where an innocent person ends up purchasing something pretty awaken the purchase this time is a pair of super specks glasses which enables a young girl to see visions of ghosts and creatures from other universes in the end she tries to close off the window to the alternate universe but in a rare twist the main character is trapped forever there is no happy ending for the dark tale and children left feeling scared and creeped out by the giant set of eyeballs to trapped the character forever the dark ending left little hope and the episode has never followed up on in the future children learns through the tale of the super specks that not everything has a happy ending as time runs out the Action League puts their heads together to save our nation's capital by the way what is our nation's capital KaBlam sketch comedy featured on KaBlam was a mix of traditional animation stop-motion animation and a little bit of CGI one of the more popular segments on the show is the Action League now series the animated shorts used action figures like Thunder girl and the flash as their heroes and typically took on pretty simple plots everything changed with the release of the short entitled caged thunder in the episode the heroes tackled terrorist actions by an evil mayor and like many shows at the time had the unfortunate case of being scheduled around the September 11th attacks in 2001 the animated short hits a little too close to home as the terrorist plot involves bombing a congressional building in Washington the bomb has stopped at the last second but is rerouted to the Action League now building where the whole thing is blown to smithereens the plot lines are way too close to the real-life Pentagon plane crash in 2001 the whole thing was just a coincidence as the show relies on outlandish humor in crazy situations because of the content the episode was pulled from the air and has rarely been seen by Nick viewers for any episodes that did air the location of the target was changed to a more local setting rather than the nation's capital so get these stupid rumors out of your tiny brain so you got room in there to learn this song places Degrassi after following Degrassi for years and years many viewers were probably left saying unbelievable after witnessing some of the crazy and dark plots the show has the grassy isn't afraid to take on mature relationships teen pregnancy broken families and abuse among other things teen Nick has aired the show for several years now and if you stopped watching then you probably missed the appropriately titled episode unbelievable in the story the characters Zooey wakes up after a party confused about the events that unfolded the previous night she then discovers through video evidence that she was sexually assaulted by two males make matters even more complicated Zoe's friend Becky decides to investigate the matter in a shocking twist Becky discovers her brother is the one responsible for the sexual assault not only to Zooey go through the traumatic event but Becky must deal with revealing the truth and forever changing her family this is a lot to take in for the young teen viewer huge revelations follow each other up on extremely sensitive subjects the content is dark but the message is clear and the education teams get from the episode can help with important life decisions down the line Sam and cat pilot episodes of shows are supposed to introduce us to characters learn a little bit about the journey and help set the tone for the future of the show Sam and cat took a different path because the show was actually just a spin-off of two other shows icarly and victorious still reeling from the ending of iCarly the start of Sam and cat was probably a lot darker than viewers expected we get set up to the story when Sam rides her motorcycle into California leaving her Seattle life behind we quickly learned how lonely Sam is without Carly and with an absentee mother on hand well that is downright depressed she still had Freddie but he obviously wasn't enough despite her hard-edged persona Sam seems truly depressed and tries to make the most out of her newfound friendship with cat not only is the episode sad for the character but the real-life drama only makes the reality seem worse it's no secret Sam's portrayer jennette mccurdy didn't get along with ariana grande on set and she was the main co-star she spent time with so mccurdy goes from an ensemble cast she loves to being forced to work with grande for 40-plus episodes it all makes sense where the show ended early bring a mortal's loser table donation or be prepared to suffer consequences Nicktoons made us laugh filled up our Saturday mornings in our huge part of our childhood memories but then there were times when the show's would shock us give us nightmares and forces to keep our night lights on just a little bit longer than we should have from Rugrats to invader zim see the episodes that freaked us out as children before you relive your childhood nightmares click Subscribe don't join our notification squad to be the first to know of grandi new content can you guess which movie is represented by these emojis stay tuned at the end to find out their Rugrats under Chucky's bed who knew a sweater could be so scary odd Rugrats Chucky's anxiety always got the best of him we typically laugh it off as he was afraid of bugs the backyard or even a large flight of stairs to help us see his point of view and relate to him more than ever the show's creators presented us with the episode entitled under chuckles bed the episode starts innocently enough following Chucky's love and comfort of sleeping in a crib then he gets surprised with a big boy bed and everything changes on the first night in the new bed Chuckie appears under the mattress only to discover the creepy monster living beneath it even though it was just a cartoon you can't forget the deep voice calling Chucky's name add in some huge eyes and sharp teeth and you were probably scared to look under your own bed in the middle of the night thankfully Thani comes to spend the night but even the brave baby has trouble confronting the bed monster the big reveal comes at the end of the episode when Chucky's father discovers he left an oddly patterned sweater underneath the bed unfortunately even with the lights on his sweater [Music] invader zim Halloween spectacular of spooky doom if you are scared and anxious child than one show you probably avoided as a kid was invader zim almost every episode featured something to be scared of including characters getting their eyes pulled out and scary creatures who gave you nightmares fittingly one of the scariest episodes in the whole series was known as the Halloween spectacular of spooky doom the episode features a typical story where a ZEM is frightened about the children dressed for Halloween and then takes a much darker turn as we follow the character of dim Halloween now it's just a shamelessly commercial ploy that begins having visions of truly terrifying creatures and monsters who turn out to be real the creatures are from another dimension and they're looking to captured it the resulting chase scene could have been inserted in any horror film the creatures are something out of a pure nightmare and children could easily get scared watching the episode with the lights out seeing the children gorge on a ton of candy and transform their bodies adds even more shocking images to the end of the episode the show is a far cry from the innocent Nickelodeon fodder and even rivals live-action scares from counter-programming like are you afraid of the dark here we go what not to do at a stoplight spongebob squarepants procrastination through the years SpongeBob SquarePants has been known for their Halloween episodes but the show's provided a lot more fun rather than scares for one of the more nightmare inducing episodes watch the season 2 episode entitled crass donation the episode presents a nightmare in a different kind of way instead of straight-up spooks and scares we feel the torture and painful struggles spongebob must go through as he stays up to complete an assignment for driver's ed hours and hours go by without a word written spongebob starts having hallucinations and we can all relate to the torture of needing to do something and not who hasn't had terrible fears about school tests or assignments torturing our dreams and making every moment feel like a living nightmare the animators were able to capture this perfectly in the world they created in the seemingly endless journey as spongebob dives deeper and deeper into his sleep-deprived state he feel his pain after several hours and only seeing the word the time because of this episode can be hard to watch for some and even create nightmares of your own after seeing please just let us watch a normal more bubbly episode of the show and said welcome to HEC a friendly community Rocko's Modern Life - heck and back reliving the whole series of Rocko's Modern Life can bring back a lot of creepy moments hope everyone just the way some of the characters are drawn and animated is enough to spook just about anyone the show is featured zombies monsters and some odd moments but nothing caused nightmares like the episode entitled to heck and back in the episode heifer literally goes to hell and we follow him along for the torturous journey the character is brought there after choking on a chicken bone and we're quickly introduced to peaches an animated version of the Grim Reaper I am evil they call me PJ Hefner is shown his gluttony through the years and peaches continues to torment a character at one point while laughing evilly peaches pulls off his hood to reveal squirting cow udders on his head and this is pretty much the point where we changed the channel and devoted a good amount of time to church on TV for those who dared to continue watching you would get the false ending of heifer waking up in his bed only to find the whole thing was another trick by peaches and heifer is still trapped in the animated version of hell Rocco eventually comes to the rescue but peaches makes a return in a future episode bringing back the creepiness and scares that we all want to avoid it's the happy show show with your host grandma taters hello everybody I'm so happy to see you The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron one of us retro Ville serves the main town featured in The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron the town always seems a little weird but things are taken to a whole new level on the episode entitled one of us a new show debuts entitled the happy show show and it begins turning characters into mindless creatures Jimmy refuses to watch the show and then figures out how everyone around is transforming [Music] when Cindy comes back to town from a karate competition two characters must team up to take on the whole town of zombie creatures the episode has a lot of jump scares creepy moments and the main villain is the unsuspecting grandma haters haters calm demeanor only adds to the horror and then the big twist ending really brings the scares full circle a group of grandma tater clones appear from a ship to rescue the one in retro then she removes her glasses and we all get spooked seeing the creepy eyes as she proclaims who will be back the unusually dark ending is different for the show and just enough to keep kids awake and afraid on a Saturday night grandma taters does make a return in the league of villains episode bringing back her creepy nature and demeanor aww real monsters a wing and a scare flying in airplanes is scary enough for some people but the animated series are real monsters didn't make it any easier as obli McCrum and akos attempt to scare a little girl they become trapped inside a suitcase and escorted onto a plane the three monsters spend a majority of the flight traveling around various sections of the play in an attempt to scare the little girl well they fail at first frighten her we experience all types of real flight scares including the lights going out and some crazy turbulence we should get eventually the three monsters scare a young boy before escaping through the toilet and ending up on the wing of the plane somehow in a scene straight out of The Twilight Zone literally a little boy sees the monsters on the wing of the plane and becomes horrified at the sight of them things only get worse when Crum ends up in the jet engine of the plane and nearly causes it to crash the plane lands safely but the episode builds on our fear of flying way more than any of the monsters in that show good because of the content and jet engine issues the episode was cut from reruns shortly after the September 11th attacks back in 2001 the angry beavers up all night staying up all night is a rite of passage for a kid we could stay up until 8 or 9 or even 10 o'clock if we wanted to we could even stay up hours of TV video games and goofing off creates great memories children fight off their exhaustion and attempt to keep rolling as the hours tick by sounds great come on the classic neck tune the angry beavers presented a great version of this story with the episode aptly titled up all night in the story the two beavers decide to take the challenge and stay awake until the next morning a big mistake they make during the late night hours is watching the low-budget horror film the animators could have simply played sound effects you're showing a few quick clips they went all out and creating the crawling spleen cutscene we were all or fi to see in a crawling spleen an organ lump crawls across the ground with a grotesque thumb sticking out from the top of it oh the humanity the whole thing was realistically animated especially when compared to the animated beavers we are then delivered more scares with Normand eggs think the crawling spleen is in their actual house [Music] kids go to bed early CatDog teeth or to one of the more recurring nightmares people have involves the loss of teeth cracked teeth teeth falling out or rotting teeth are just a few of the ways people wake up in a panic before realizing all of their pearly whites are still intact the Nicktoons cat dog decided to play on all of the dental nightmares in the episode entitled teeth for two for those unaware the Nicktoons featured a cat and dog who are connected in the middle while all scientific facts and plausibility were thrown out the window the story in teeth for two follows cat dog as the characters realize the actions on one of their teeth will directly impact the other person dental health the follows is a series of truly hideous scenes that could only be described as tooth horror both characters chew on crazy objects purposefully damaging teeth and create all types of mouth carnage we would ever wish on ourselves one of the creepiest moments is when cat crawls through their body and appears inside out in dog's mouth the bloody and gross looking body of cat attempting to brush dog's teeth as we simply watch in horror wonder how he could possibly sleep that night haunts us The Fairly OddParents Betty by Timmy Turner lives each day with fairy godparents by a side on the fairly oddparents at one point he realizes wishing during the daytime is just not enough after getting sick of going to bed so early Timmy makes a wish that no one ever slept again like many of Timmy's wishes the whole premise starts out with a lot of fun but slowly turns into a living nightmare at the center of the wishes mistake is Cosmo who is negatively impacted by the wish as his lack of beauty sleep creates some pretty disastrous results throughout the episode his face slowly turns uglier and uglier until we see a hideous display showcasing rotting flesh leaking nostrils and bloodshot eyes thankfully one that covers his head with a mass but not before the image is burned into our skull just when you think Cosmo is back to normal the sandman forced Timmy to stay awake for seven days straight and we are forced to see another dark detailed and disturbing close-up of Timmy's face Timmy's face is even worse than cosmo's with more goo gross news and skin issues lesson learned we will go to bed on time from now on invader zim bad bad rubber piggy poor Dib throughout the whole invader zim series the character has been prone to Zim's constant attacks and bullying one of the craziest forms of this comes in the episode bad bad rubber piggy in the cartoon Zim gets a time machine to work his ultimate goal to send a robot back in time to kill Dib when he's just three years old thanks the only problem the robot isn't compatible with the time portal the only thing Zim can make work through the time portal art rubber pigs he makes good use of the pigs as viewers have to witness a whole lifetime of torture for Dib Dib is nailed off his tricycle attacked at random times it even has all the bone crushed in his body the horrific violence is hard to watch even an animated form and it's creepy to see Zim act so nonchalant about it all Dib eventually comes back to get his revenge in a giant robot suit and nearly kills Simba for Zim is able to change the timeline and prevent all the rubber pigs from coming in the first place after seeing that episode it's no surprise if you had some flying pig nightmares of your own nickelodeon has featured family-friendly content for years jokes got slipped in gags featured mature references and children got sent the wrong message from are you afraid of the dark too spongebob see some of the craziest times Nick shows took things way too far before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad and me the first to know of a new content from Screenland and can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out are you afraid of the dark there's nothing wrong with a good scare for children and a majority of the time Knicks are you afraid of the dark supplied some great ones the anthology series felt like The Twilight Zone for kids and each episode packed just enough scares without pushing the limits too far well there are two exceptions to this the show was supposed to be scary but it shouldn't ever conjure nightmares for the rest of your life first up is the tale of the dead man's float you'll never look at a swimming pool the same way again after seeing this nightmare of the show a couple kids go to their school swimming pool only to witness some type of crazy swamp monsters swimming in the depths below the monster and some of the intense swimming scenes actually rival the original jaws once you've avoided the water long enough you'll probably want to stay away from carnivals circuses and amusement parks all thanks to the episode titled the tale of laughing in the dark using the common fear of clowns are you afraid of the dark Zeebo goes out to revenge when a young punk steals his red nose the crazy scares that follow feel like a small screen version of Stephen King's it and we're all still spooked sing Zeebo scary face holy my pants mr. crocker goes new Fairly OddParents is fast paced stuffed with animation and has the ability to get away with all types of jokes one episode may have pushed these jokes a little too far just seeing the title alone is enough to raise some questions the episode we're referencing is simply called Rock blocks how the title alone made a past Nickelodeon censors is beyond us we guessed by season 9 Nick gave the show free rein to whatever it wanted once you get past the overly sexual reference in the title things don't get much better as the episode plays out Timmy wishes for his teacher mr. Crocker to disappear the results of the wish turns him invisible as he wrecks all kinds of havoc in his life Timmy then reverses the wish but mr. Crocker realize deciding not to wear any clothes because he enjoyed the freedom of being invisible mr. Crocker roams the school completely naked and in front of children we've had enough real life teacher and student controversies to see this one went a little bit too far an apple not so subtly blocks his private area although they show enough details within his hairy chest have seen too much [Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome to o-town Rocko's Modern Life probably should have debuted on Comedy Central or Adult Swim instead of Nickelodeon the content innuendo and adult jokes were far more suited to air alongside shows like South Park and Rick and Morty of course Nickelodeon was one of the few animation outlets available in the early 90s then this is where the show made its premiere show took risks right out of the gate with stories about adultery ringworm and questionable doctor's visits Rocko's whole town is basically one big adult joke with adult references one episode the characters visit the no-tell motel a scene which was cut from future broadcasts the name of the common fast-food restaurant is known as the choke eat chicken yes even the doctor that Rocko visits is named the not-so-subtle dr. bend ova the doctor even sticks his hand up Rocco's pants and hasn't popped multiple times this is Saturday morning cartoon content right here even the name of the city O'Town can be taken as an adult reference rewatching the show as an adult presents dozens of more jokes and a lot of content just passed over your head as a child the show never simply about a happy wallaby and adventures with his friends don't tell his diary the classic Nicktoons Hey Arnold may have had the young boy's name in the title many people could argue that Helga was actually the main character we saw several stories from her perspective she delivered multiple monologues and we got to see her home life several of the scenes in Helga's home took place in her room Hidden shrine was dedicated to the football head crush she pined for while actually treating him terribly in person as if the shrine to Arnold wasn't enough the character decided to read from her secret diary in one episode while swinging over Arnold she delivers one of the most inappropriate lines and nick history by saying he makes her girlhood tremble and for children who didn't hear it correctly don't worry a parent decides to repeat the line multiple times for someone who's supposed to be around nine years old the last thing any of us want to hear about is her girlhood trembling imagine all the poor parents who had to answer questions after seeing this scene what's a girl hood how does it tremble am I supposed to have a shrine to my crush how was Arnold born with a football shaped head um good luck answering those questions and I can touch my nose of my tongue dropping pants there's no denying any one who sat through the Nicktoons CatDog was probably grossed out at some point or another the whole idea of a cat and dog sharing the same body led to all kinds of gross-out humor and crazy gags and some pretty insane plots in the episode where cat dog works at a restaurant the content was a little more tame than others the children may have picked up on a joke involving nudity swear and some sly ways to rhyme that swear with other familiar words as cat dog works with the gray sir dogs in the kitchen the boss bursts and demands all the workers to show some class in the same moment lumic dog begins to drop his pants insinuating he heard a whole different word than flax we see his pants go down halfway and revealing a pair of boxers before the boss corrects him and says he said glass the moment is easy to catch on to and children can only assume what lumic dog meant the moment was pretty obvious and makes you wonder how the joke got passed [ __ ] executives verbal puns may not seem like a lot but when it mixes with everything else you end up with a long list moments no one eats the king of dears net gets censored the language on Nickelodeon is typically clean as shows try to avoid censorship and foul words as much as possible one of the more popular exceptions to this is the spongebob episode where dolphin noises replaced dirty words you mean another example comes from Ned's Declassified school guide in the episode guide to dares and bad habits each of the characters try to break their bad habits and things got a little too too classified for Mo's bows has a bad habit of talking trash on the volleyball court but these aren't your normal playground taunts while watching a recap of the team's volleyball game most goes on a cursed Laden rant conveniently bleeped out by the referees whistles her trash-talking was so long and intense she would have made Conor McGregor blush not to mention get kicked off the middle school sports team well at least she learned her lesson and stopped her trash-talking right nope as soon as most stops trash-talking on the court she loses her focus and does terrible she ends up taping her mouth shut and screaming expletives through the tape great lesson for all those cursing kiddos out there bad sportsmanship and a sailor's mouth all in one episode what are we gonna do well we could stay back here and Snoodle victorious goes under the knife live-action shows like iCarly and drake and josh provided preteen nick viewers some more mature content including fun jokes and great role models to look up to victorious was another popular entry in the teen nick lineup as fans watched characters go to the Hollywood Arts High School the characters learn to balance friendships workloads and the everyday social issues in high school but one episode gives young girls the completely wrong lesson in the episode Tori the zombie Tori has a hideous mask glued to her face and she cannot get it off and she tries to figure out a plan her sister offers to call a plastic surgeon from hell while on the phone trina asks about different services and makes a joke about getting a breast augmentation won't happily looking down at her chest whether it's a joke or not young girls and teens in high school should not be thinking about plastic surgery at all breast augmentation the joke wall quick makes it seem like changes like that are the norm for the characters in the show keep really bad lessons on body image team should be celebrated for who they are not looking for artificial ways to try and improve something that doesn't need to change hopefully Tory's ugly monster mask kept viewers distracted from that moment my big boy and instant these visual gags we can only imagine that some young children were traumatized by Ren & Stimpy the two crazy animals went on some adventures that were absolutely bonkers made little sense and featured some of the craziest animation ever seen there was so much content to push the limits of children programming it was a little hard to pick just one yes we'll try to narrow it down to five or so first up the naked family that's right in the episode entitled big baby scam Ren and Stimpy poses as big babies to move in with a family the family they chose couldn't be honored they have a ritual known as family bathtub where everyone gets into the tub naked together by the end of the episode Ren and Stimpy are beat up by the real naked babies who are supposed to go to the house ad in the random naked scenes with some extreme violence there's violent attacks on characters or the obnoxiously long scene where Ren gets rubbed up against a man's nasty stubble over and over and over again where the time Ren lost all his teeth and had nerve endings hanging out from his gum the visuals were intense often uncomfortable to watch and properly gave children a lot of weird anxiety now you two have fun with your little cousins the grandpa Lu is a perv it's pretty safe to say a majority of the Rugrats is pre-safe kids sure there's a little potty humor but nothing that pushes the limits and sure the parents would do anything rather than watch their own children but we wouldn't have the fun adventures without them the one controversial part of the show comes from grandpa Lou Lou is both Tommy and Angelica's grandfather often chosen to serve as the inept in constantly napping BabyCenter to the children in one episode grandpa Lou decides to rent some movies for the kids and he gets one of his own the name of the film lonely space vixen by the look at the cover entitle the movie is clearly some type of low-budget adult film if that's loose thing it's fine yes the worst part of it all is him showing off the tape to Tommy and Chuckie the innocent babies look on as Lou raises his eyebrows up and down and has a good laugh about the whole thing meanwhile a bunch of children watching at home are asking what loudly space vixens is about and why the women on the cover are really wearing the SpongeBob's prison humor on the surface well below the surface SpongeBob SquarePants seems as innocent as they come the character has a normal job enjoys hobbies like catching jellyfish and could spend the whole day singing while skipping along with Spongebob often comes off as pretty naive but there are obviously some things he knows about we are completely unaware of sometimes he plays things off coyly when we can tell the character knows more than he is leaning on to approve an example of this is when Sponge Bob uses a classic prison joke with his pet snail Gary Sponge Bob and Gary are in the bathroom when the yellow guy pulls out two bars of soap he then proceeds to tell Gary how important it is to not drop the soap spongebob then follows up the line with a knowing wink what happens in the prison's of Bikini Bottom the joke insinuates something completely inappropriate for children to learn about and the wig seems like direct action to any parents watching and getting the joke oddly spongebob places the soap towards the ground and his body bends over at the same time adding more visuals to the clear pun only a staple of many childhoods was Nickelodeon the classic shows great Nicktoons and game show is made for hours and hours of television through the years shows have come and gone but his fans look back on their favorites some pretty shocking theories have boiled to the surface see what characters actually died who crossed over onto other shows and what shocking revelations may come from your favorite Nicktoons before you watch click subscribe you'll join the notification squad and be the first to know of new content also can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out [Music] timmy turner is Danny Phantom growing up with fairy godparents is given Timmy Turner some great perks we followed his adventures through 10 seasons of the hit Nicktoons Fairly OddParents and even saw the addition of a third godparent by the name of poof Timmy can wish for anything he wants and gets to go on all sorts of adventures of course Timmy's fun only last to the age of 13 that's when the godparents have to move on from their assignment this left lots of fans wondering about the future of Timmy but the answer is clear according to a widespread theory upon turning 13 Timmy wishes to become a ghost fighting superhero and his whole world is transformed into Danny Phantom that's right a popular theory states that Danny Phantom and Timmy Turner are actually the same person the characters have very similar looks and the same color eyes supporting evidence can also be found through the show's supporting characters Chester looks like a younger version of - AJ is a younger version of Tucker and Trixie is a younger version of Paulina the characters not only look alike but they also have similar personality traits considering that both shows were created by Butch Hartman the connection makes more sense and is only even stronger spongebob is reborn first show that's been on for nearly 20 years and counting SpongeBob SquarePants has gone through several changes over this time one of the biggest differences between the personality and the way spongebob acts can be seen at the start of season 5 in this season spongebob appears much more childish he's not as intelligent as he once was and he does a lot more immature things with his friends like Patrick the drastic change in character points to one theory stating that spongebob was actually reborn after dying and that his newborn younger self doesn't have the same maturity as his previous incarnation bit wondering when spongebob died and was reborn it's all on film for you in the first spongebob squarepants feature-length film spongebob and patrick are captured and brought to a beach souvenir shop they're put under a heated lamp at a table and dry out the movie shows a tear bring them back to life but real-life sponges are actually asexual and can reproduce on their own spongebob didn't come back to life he was merely reborn again the younger and immature spongebob also explains why he didn't remain the manager of the Krusty Krab as seen at the end of the movie the fake Pete one of the more quirky and bizarre shows to ever appear on Nickelodeon was the Adventures of Pete and Pete the two brothers lived a strange life filled with superheroes ice cream men and some pretty crazy scenarios involving friends and family things may just seem a little weirder when he consider a fan theory stating the younger Pete was actually a fictional manifestation of the older Pete basically it says that Pete had schizophrenia and he envisioned the younger Pete as a way to capture years of youthful adventures he missed out on Pete would also manifest other characters on the show like the strongman named Artie the theory has some evidence in the form of the way the characters act around Pete also for the simple fact that his parents would name both children by the same name the mom on the show also has a metal plate on her head which could have been the result of the condition passed down to the older Pete does the whole theory sound familiar it basically plays out like a child's version of Fight Club where Tyler Durden isn't a real character but still has the ability to interact and communicate with the narrator of the story crazy Steve kidnapped Carly producer and writer Dan Schneider has spent years developing shows for Nickelodeon he said several back-to-back hits starting with Drake and Josh transitioning to iCarly and then eventually forming into crossover hits like victorious and Sam and cat there's one thing connecting the universe of all these shows and that's a character known as crazy Steve played by Jerry Trainor crazy Steve made his debut and Drake and Josh as one of the movie theatre employees once icarly premiered the actor Jerry Trainor played Carly's older brother Spencer but fans quickly strung a theory together making you question whether Spencer is really Carly's brother at all the theory states that crazy Steve eventually killed Drake and Josh while kidnapping their younger sibling Megan through manipulation and brainwashing crazy Steve moved Megan to Seattle forced her to change her name to Carl and the rest is history the theory seemed a little far-fetched at first that is until a random episode of Sam and cat showed crazy steve and an insane asylum this helped make the final connection and revealed crazy steve was finally caught after Carly got away on the series finale of icarly if Sam and cat had continued to produce more episodes we may have gotten more answers about the true story of crazy Steve [Music] Drake and Josh the reality show every episode of Drake and Josh pretty much began the same way Drake and Josh would talk to the camera showcase their point of view and help set up the plot for the whole episode while it appeared to have been done as a creative choice later clues from down the line may reveal that Drake and Josh was actually a show within a show the reality show followed the characters lives as they dealt with their teenage years and their mixed family life some of the biggest clues to the reality show Theory actually come from other Nick shows on Victorious multiple characters have referred to watching the show and on iCarly clips of the show have been shown pranks one of the biggest clues comes from a character played by Yvette Nicole Brown on Drake and Josh Brown played the movie theater manager named Helen Dubois on Victorious the same character comes to take over as principal of Hollywood Arts High School if the characters on Victorious watched Drake and Josh and the same character shows up at their school then this is pretty much a confirmation that Drake and Josh was the reality show said in they're connected universes oh sure Mac this is so great Steve's drug problem poor Blues Clues the preschool show we watched way beyond our preschool years has been under the microscope of rumors and theories for years some of the craziest rumors came when Steve left the show and was replaced by Joe but people still can't coming up with theories about the adventures a grown man has with his puppy Bloo as rumors of Steve's death and real life were proven to be false other rumors sparked up about the character and the stories he comes up with one of the more popular theories involves Steve taking drugs the characters use of heavy and hard drugs has created the whole alternate reality where blue and everything in his house comes to life how else would you explain talking salt and pepper shakers who had a child together named paprika things seemed even more drug-induced when Steve starts jumping into paintings and going on all sorts of crazy adventures right inside his own home these moments can all be seen as drug hallucinations for all we know Steve is just lounging in his big chair letting his mind run wild you can only imagine the drugs and lifestyle the character into when he left the house to Joe and headed off to college timmy turner's antidepressants The Fairly OddParents had ten seasons of happiness and adventures but it didn't always start out this way timmy turner was not a happy child at the beginning he had troubles at school was often neglected by his parents and he was forced to deal with Vicky his horrible babysitter according to a theory all of these factors led to depression to help with his depression Timmy didn't get the help of fairy godparents but rather was prescribed antidepressants he manifested into his alternate view of godparents each godparent Timmy has could be broken down into different antidepressant medications the antidepressant Prozac is represented by Wanda Prozac is known for allowing a person to be calm and focused much like Wanda is in the series Cosmo represents the antidepressant medication known as zoloft this works to make you more giddy and excited rather than depressed and represents exactly how Cosmo acts in the series the pills are taken in Timmy's room which just happens to be the place where the fairies appear anytime the fairies run out of magic or disappear it's essentially the pills wearing off and Timmy's depression starting to take hold again come to think of it we're getting a little depressed just thinking about this theory [Music] Jimmy neutrons government conspiracy Jimmy Neutron is a boy genius who entertained Knick fans for over a decade looking back on the series there were some odd things involving the characters and the town of retro Ville a widespread theory about the show puts everything into a perspective easy to explain Jimmy and the other children were genetically modified government experiments used to help with military research and inventions basically Jimmy's whole life is a big lie the town of retro Ville is a front with paid actors used to play citizens this is one of the reasons no one bats an eye when Jimmy flies around in a rocket or has some sort of crazy weapon this is also a reason why a number of Jimmy's inventions just happen to disappear once invented the government takes them for their own research development the theory is proven even further with the show's presence of area 86 the secret government facilities exist in retro Ville and are obviously the headquarters where Jimmy and all of his friends are tracked and researched Jimmy's work and inventions have been influenced by several seemingly random events in the town but maybe those were purposely created to get the new inventions the government needed are you afraid of the dark scariest ghosts one of Nickelodeon's greatest shows will always be are you afraid of the dark the anthology series followed a group of friends known as the midnight society as they took turns telling scary stories around a campfire aliens clowns and witches were just a few of the tales keeping kids up late at night in the 90s and early 2000s the show touched on many different subjects but one of the scariest aspects may have been the midnight society themselves a theory speculates that the midnight society was actually made up of the ghosts of teens who died young breaking down the various events can help shed light on this eerie theory the characters only showed up at night they were never seen in their everyday life and they all seemed to come from different directions in the woods their parents never cared how late they stayed out and none of them really touched on lives outside of their ghost story group when a new member joined the group they represented another tragic death of a teen when a member left the group they crossed over to the other side as the midnight society represented a state of limbo until the teen ghosts can confront their darkest fears and sins now reliving the series just got a little scarier definitely something else I felt like I was kissing my sister nevermind complete friendzone Larissa explains it all to her children before Melissa Joan Hart wooed audiences with her witchy magic on Sabrina the Teenage Witch she was making fans with her likeable character and family life on Clarissa explains it all the show lasted for five seasons on Nick and the final episode left us with a fantasy glimpse at the future but we never knew some of the future would become a reality in one of the more legitimate theories found from Nick shows the 90s series may have a connection to the 2004 series entitled Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide on the show we're never introduced to Ned's parents but we do learn that Ned's second surname is darling the same as Clarissa this could easily be brushed off as a random coincidence but a further clue about Ned's father adds more to the connection in another episode Ned refers to his father as Sam the name of klarissa's neighbor and love interest from the series this means that Ned could be the love child of Clarissa and Sam but it's pretty clear that Sam isn't stepping up to be the father he should be maybe he's too busy visiting other houses and climbing up windows with his trusty ladder of course the connection may seem legit if you ignore the release of the official Clarissa novel where she's childless it seems like nickelodeon has had it pretty easy over the years well take a look behind the orange curtain to discover crazy controversies which almost took the whole network down before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad and be the first to know of new content can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned to the end to find out can you help us find my baby sister I wouldn't be in such a big hurry if I was you Tommy the new baby gets here Rugrats gets cancelled can you imagine the Nicktoons legacy without the Rugrats the success of the show led to three theatrical movies including a crossover with The Wild Thornberrys if things panned out how they did in the early 90s the Rugrats might have fiddled out for good and become a forgotten gem barely talked about today believe it or not but in 1994 the Rugrats was cancelled with no new episodes ordered the reason behind this stems from the character of Angelica writers wanted to keep her more of a bully who bosses the babies around and acted like a brat arlene klasky did not like this version of Angelica and Angelica's own voice actor didn't approve either the show's success was undeniable and Nik ordered it back into production for 96 if the show ended we would have lost out on the birth of dil and the spin-off all-grown-up and several of the holiday specials which had become an annual tradition in many homes invader zim ends too soon in the early 2000s Nickelodeon was looking for more gritty Nicktoons that could push the limits when it came to style and content well they got exactly what they wished for in the form of invader zim the bizarre show follows Zim the alien as he invades earth and uses a hodgepodge of technology to try and take it over the show's outlandish plots and unique animation design helped it stand out from the lighter tones on the channel midway through season 2 invader zim ceased production out of nowhere several episodes already written and storyboarded were completely lost and abandoned fans were left hanging with no new episodes and no more crazy adventures with Zim rumors began to run rampant about the show's demise several factors played into it with one of the more common issues being the viewing audience the viewers actually watching invader zim were much older than the six to eleven age range the show was seeking for advertisers thanks to the die-hard older fanbase invader zim lived on through merchandise sales helping both Nickelodeon and Hot Topic at the same time even though fans had hard feelings against the network they continued to support the show which ended wait way too soon hey man hit me when you get this passing on Adventure Time looking back on your failures can make you feel depressed but Nickelodeon's case they missed out on what could have been one of their biggest hits of all time an animation block on Nicktoons showcased previews to a bunch of potential new shows one of the options was Adventure Time yeah that Adventure Time after airing on Nick first the network's determined the show was too weird to sign up for a full season order what a huge mistake it turned out to be Cartoon Network swooped in raised the competition and Adventure Time is one of the most popular cartoons over the past several years during this time Nickelodeon really missed out Adventure Time officially premiered in 2010 in the same year Nickelodeon premiered tough puppy and Planet Sheen those two show is barely extended beyond the original runs and are all but forgotten about today he will would you be so kind as to hang these two young fellers Ren and Stimpy get banned during the same time period Nickelodeon premiered family-friendly Nicktoons like Rugrats and Doug we also got to witness the rise of Ren & Stimpy tellin the oddball duo went on crazy adventures pushed the limits of physical comedy and featured some surreal moments long before college students were watching and discussing their favorite spongebob episodes brendon Stimpy's antics were the topic of discussion the show loved to push the limits of censors and tried to get away with as much as it could one example of this was the season 2 episode entitled man's best friend in the episode Stimpy beats a character George to a bloody pulp [Music] the shocking scene caused the episode to get banned especially after parents complained about the content their young children were being exposed to behind the scenes more controversy was brewing when the show's creator John crispy Lucy stopped meeting deadlines and was eventually fired for his lack of work ethic and skipping out on the job the show lived on but found better homes by airing on networks like MTV and Spike TV instead of Nickelodeon dear diary hi it's me Doug Doug moves away on the first episode of Nicks Doug Doug funnie moves to bluffington with his family for seasons into the hip NIC show Doug and his family would move again but not out of bluffington in a rare move Disney purchased the rights to Doug and produce their own version of the show for a Saturday morning lineup the move was truly unprecedented but it also came with a lot of criticism NIC lost a lot of their Saturday morning viewers as Doug aired alongside recess and pepper and fans were critical of some of the creative changes the show made but Disney did what Nickelodeon should have and produced a feature-length dubbed movie budgeted at only 5 million dollars the movie went on to make around 20 million in just theaters alone Disney profited huge off of Doug and Nickelodeon was left with a huge mistake on their hands in the end Disney ended up with around just as many episodes and built an audience to enjoy the show as multiple shows begin making television comebacks and revivals maybe nick can correct their error and get the rights to Doug once again [Music] I'm sorry old friend I didn't mean to be kooky rocko's modern affair after the departure of ren and stimpy from the Nicktoons line up the network needed a quirky replacement they got exactly what they wished for with the out there show known as Rocko's Modern Life right out of the gate the show presented viewers with a crazy world filled with outlandish stories in a number of jokes catered directly to adults one of the very first episodes of the show pushed things to the limit and was banned from TV for nearly ten years in the episode entitled leapfrogs Rocco's neighbors Bev and edy bighead are going through some marital issues instead of working things out Bev decides to set her sights on Rocko to make her husband jealous the scenes that follow feature Bev try all types of seduction and using quotes which imply sexual innuendo at one point Bev and Rocko share kissed together just to make a jealous the whole thing makes a mockery of marriage and adultery in general a few parent complaints later in the episode was pulled from rotation if leapfrogs continued to air a few more complaints could have had the whole show pulled off the air for good the episode returns to rotation and can be seen random times while airing on Team NICs the splat Wyatt rumors in the loud house for the past few years Nicki's relied on long-standing cartoons like Sponge Bob Squarepants and The Fairly OddParents to lead their animation blocks through reruns and television specials the network finally seems to have a new hit on their hands in the form of loud house the traditionally animated cartoon follows a young boy who lives in a home with eleven sisters the chaos and fun storylines have caught on with children in the show is a bonafide hit for the network too bad it almost ended before it just started getting good loud house was created by Chris Savino but Savino got into a lot of trouble when multiple sexual harassment allegations came out about the showrunner Nick was quick to respond to the allegations instead of cancelling loud house they saved the show in Kansas Aveeno instead now the animators and workers have a safe environment and children can enjoy a hit card - and that doesn't have a sponge in it season 3 is currently airing and Nick has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to release a theatrical adaptation of a show Savino may have based initial episodes off his own childhood but now that Nick has controlled they will find plenty of waste show on the air adapting The Last Airbender Avatar The Last Airbender featured a whole different type of animation when it first premiered on Nickelodeon back in 2005 the show featured an anime style featured characters from all different types of cultures and played the drama almost completely serious as opposed to some of the more silly cartoons featured on the network with a number of special effects in combat the big screen version of The Last Airbender should have been a spectacular event instead it became a critical and financial bomb for several reasons the movie nearly tarnished the legacy of the cartoon and could damper any chances of future Nickelodeon live-action movies one of the biggest problems came with the casting a number of cultural characters from the show were recast with white actors as cast posters were released fans were already angry at the unnecessary changes M night Shyamalan was behind the camera for the movie the result was a film that felt like a shell of the animated series and a huge disappointment to fans you know bro this is kind of nice what'd I tell you hmm angry beavers breaks the fourth wall originally premiering in 1997 the angry beavers felt fresh funny and had two good characters to root for lasting for four seasons the show provided a lot of comic relief and fitted nicely with other animated shows like pi real monsters and dung by the fourth season the show ran its course and had plenty of episodes set for syndication the creators of the angry beavers were informed of the cancellation and decided to create a very special finale the only problem no one would get to see it the angry beavers series finale pretty much broke every rule nick has for their cartoons back in the day Nick didn't want any true series finales for show's final episode was supposed to be just a regular episode and things could get tied up in a movie or television special nip it needed to well in the angry beavers episode the characters learned they are cartoons and are getting canceled from television they spend the episode trying to escape their fade and often break the fourth wall another big no-no back in the day well the beavers probably got angry as the show was pulled and has still never aired with storyboards from the episode were released hmm climate change in bikini bottom SpongeBob SquarePants would probably never be considered a highly political show but there was a time when an episode made news headlines both on TV and online the episode itself isn't even an official episode that aired on TV but rather an educational short produced for children to discuss the impacts of humans on global warming entitled the endless summer the story follows mr. Krabs as he tries to increase his carbon footprint by releasing extra emissions into the air his goal is to make Bikini Bottom so hot that everyone pays to use the newly installed pool at the back of the restaurant the short itself is very educational teaches children basic concepts and has been used in numerous classrooms if Fox News had their way the whole thing would have been pulled from the air and never shown again the news network claimed the episode feeds into a conspiracy that humans are the cause of increased global warming yet the anchors not only insulted the episode but the whole series in general despite multiple reports attacking the show Nickelodeon kept using the short for educational purposes and based their research off of true scientific findings rather than opinions Wow well there you have it what Theory do you believe the most are there any we missed what is your favorite Nick show let us know in the comments section below don't forget to like this video share it and subscribe to Screen Rant on youtube so you can stay up-to-date with our awesome videos thanks for watching [Music] as a child watching Nick shows seemed great on the surface but as we grow up we see there may have been a lot more to the show than we realized see some of the craziest Nickelodeon theories involving hit shows like the Rugrats iCarly SpongeBob SquarePants and Jimmy Neutron boy genius you may never look at these Nick shows the same again before you watch click subscribe you'll join our notification squad to be the first Danelle of new screen rant content the last each he loaded it was a poem for you on Rugrats it took years before Chucky's real mom was finally revealed in a Mother's Day special she died when Chucky was barely a newborn but one theory states that she may not have been his mom in the first place the theory proposes that Dede pickles is Chucky's actual mom they have similar looks Chucky's dad gets along great with Dede and Chucky spends an awful lot of time hanging out at the pickles household maybe Stu shouldn't have spent so much time in the basement tinkering with his toys Tommy and Chucky's friendship could grow even stronger if the two knew they were related uh helmet for a preschool show like Blue's Clues there sure are a lot of theories about the content characters and plot no we're not talking about the birth of paprika but rather Steve's rule on the show he constantly talks to a group of kids sings songs and plays silly games one theory states Steve's house is actually a daycare and each episode is him simply taking care of the children this explains why Steve acts the way he does and how he doesn't figure out Blue's Clues so much faster obviously the gig didn't pay enough as Joe came in and took over after a few seasons the live-action format of Drake and Josh was loved by fans and led to many questions in the opening of each episode the characters talked to the camera and basically narrate their feelings many fans have come to the conclusion that Drake and Josh is a reality show set in the Nick universe many other characters on Nick shows like icarly and victorious have watched to Drake in Josh episodes within their worlds and some of the same characters have also appeared in those shows making them exist in the world the reality show offers a real-life perspective of mixed families and the journey to young teens must go through SpongeBob SquarePants is filled with all kinds of theories and mixed messages but do they involve the seven deadly sins many fans have assigned a deadly sin to each character on the show naturally mr. Krabs represents greed your gut buddy right Patrick represents sloth and sandy represents pride this leaves wrath for Squidward lust for spongebob gluttony for Gary and envy for plankton whether the creator's intended this or not each role fits the character perfectly and often ends up being some of their biggest flaws while going on adventures one of the biggest mysteries icarly never answered was who the father of Freddie Benson actually was a bizarre fan theory points out his father may be none other than a bee Barry Benson to be exact the animated be played the starring role in Bee Movie and he finds a connection with a human woman who looks eerily similar to mrs. Benson the theory became so popular that actor nathan kress tweeted about it and jokingly confirmed of the theory was true [Applause] SpongeBob's formula for success hasn't changed much over the years but his maturity has sure gone downhill fans marked the release of the Spongebob Squarepants movie and fifth season premiere as two points where SpongeBob's actions shifted into a more childish tone the theory spongebob died and was reborn the moment happened on the big screen when Sponge Bob dries out on the beachside souvenir shop the reborn spongebob is naturally more immature as he learns to grow and accept his new identity the classic Nicktoons doug follows the perspective of doug funnie as his family moves to a new town and doug must navigate his complicated social life many fans point out Doug's blatant racism through the views of his mind anyone on the show with different skin colors are viewed by Doug with really wild skin tones including skeeters light blue while doug tries to pass it off as an innocent imagination fans believe he is naively racist based on his upbringing in the years before the show began sorry and it means escape the core of are you afraid of the dark revolved around the midnight society a group of teens who told tales of terror each night but where did these kids come from they rarely talked about their personal lives outside of the group and one theory states that they're all actually dead and ghosts themselves the midnight society is actually a state of limbo the characters who left the group have finally crossed over to the other side magic pyramid for all the answers Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide could also be a guide to the Illuminati if one fan theory is true in the episode failing Ned uses a magical pyramid to solve all the answers on a quiz he takes the pyramid features the all-seeing eye on one side and the side always faces towards the camera fans theorize the episode is clearly promoting the power of the Illuminati unfortunately a teacher smashes the pyramid in the episode leaving a lot of unanswered questions Butch Hartman is known for creating Nicktoons like The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom not only are the animation styles the same between both shows but the characters are eerily similar and have led to many fan theories one of these theories is that Danny Phantom is a grownup version of Timmy Turner after using the power of the fairies Timmy goes under assumed name of Danny and has the ability to connect to both the real world and ghost dimension the similar looks hairstyles and actions of the characters really help connect the two shows on the Amanda show Amanda Bynes was constantly stalked by a crazed look-alike with the name Penelope while Penelope was an alter ego played by Bynes as well many fans believe she was real kidnapped amanda Bynes and assumed her identity in the real world the theory explains some of binds his bizarre actions in real life and obviously Penelope could not act as well as Bynes giving us a good reason for her lack of film roles in the past several years SpongeBob's biggest mystery still remains after so many years what is inside a krabby patty well according to several theories the ingredient is actually crab itself that's right mr. Krabs kills his own kind to make profits and craft the most delicious patty sandwich the theory stems from the name of the restaurant varys Burger King Taco Bell and Dairy Queen all with food in the title it would make sense that the Krusty Krab would actually include crab on the menu you're welcome plankton [Music] Rocko's Modern Life was a trip to watch with some crazy plots and wacky animation the show didn't have much direction and anything could really happen in an episode many fans have determined Rocko's Modern Life creators actually set out to make the most perverted cartoon in history there's the restaurant choke ease chicken Rocco's random job as an adult phone line operator and some crazy jokes involving cow udders for some reason many children's show theories involve the characters and drug use one of them is Steve from Blue's Clues Steve's drug problems led to the character seeing all types of things around his home talking furniture talking food and a singing mailbox were just some of the objects who came to life to talk to the drug induced Steve then there's the times when Steve would jump into paintings as if they were real-life locations by the time Joe came around Steve was off to rehab not college Bikini Bottom is a strange place fish talk some of them have weird mutations and there's a text in the squirrel who decided to spend her life researching underwater how did it all occur Wow one theory places the blame on nuclear radiation many of the buildings are said to be shells of nuclear bombs and the bombs have mutated the fish and other sea creatures to form the characters we know and love how else would you explain a clarinet loving octopus connecting shows is a great way to build theories and one far-reaching theory helps connect the world of iCarly to Drake and Josh on Drake and Josh the character crazy Steve worked at the local movie theater he was played by Jeremy Trainor the same actor who played Spencer on iCarly the theory states that crazy Steve and Spencer are the same character Steve kidnapped Drake and Josh his younger sister Megan took her to Seattle and brainwashed her to think she was actually named Carly and living in an apartment with her brother processed the theory for a minute it actually makes a lot of sense pink is really upset when Doug moved to bluffington he met a number of new characters including the eccentric mr. dink but was there more to mr. dink than meets the eye he was always popping up in random locations took Doug to his secret shed and his only friends seem to be children mr. dink may have been a child predator who covered his tracks using various inventions and gadgets Doug covered up any memories of mr. Dinks dirty deeds using his active imagination and daydreams dirts Shakespeare Scottish kings and don't know how the Keanu Reeves advanced acting course Jimmy Neutron was a certified genius with the ability to invent robots explore space and create all kinds of useful inventions yet everyone in retro Ville mostly ignored his special abilities or shrugged him off as child's play a theory related to the town of retro Ville involves a large government cover-up Jimmy Neutron lives in a Truman Show type of situation involving the government tracking Jimmy's every move and using his inventions to their advantage by making Jimmy feel like he's living a normal childhood he continues to grow and invent new things one of the biggest questions involved in the classic Nicktoons Hey Arnold is the presence of state kid why was he so dedicated to his stoop according to one theory stupid kid was forced to stay on the stoop because the building he sat at was actually home to a huge drug operation stupid kid had to stay on his stoop to prevent anyone from going into the building and kept an eye out for any possible police activity or suspicious people we imagine stupid kid got into major trouble when Arnold finally got him off the stoop if you ever thought it was two brothers who were named Pete well then we have a theory for you on The Adventures of Pete and Pete one theory states that the younger Pete is not even real he's the manifestation of the older Pete the younger Pete is more daring and does things the old impede wishes he did when he was younger by living vicariously through the younger brother Pete feels more satisfied about the less adventurous life he lives the next time you watch Pete and Pete keep this theory in mind and the show will give you a whole new perspective I don't know if I like if you haven't watched Nickelodeon in a long time the next time you tune in everything may feel a little similar no it's not another repeat one theory states Nick went through a big remake stage to try and relaunch some of their shows that were a little less popular back in the day for example the old show brothers Garcia was remade into Ricky Dicky Mickey and on the show Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide was remade into 100 things to do before high school and then there's the show Marvin Marvin but show very similar to the journey of Alan strange the stories and characters in each of the show counterparts are nearly identical to each other Clarissa explains it all and did far earlier than it should have of course the show wouldn't have lasted long enough to show Clarissa have children but a theory quickly spread over the internet connecting Clarissa to the show Ned's Declassified according to rumours Ned was actually the child of Sam and Clarissa and even mentioned them by name unfortunately the theory was debunked when the scenes and episodes mentioned in the theory didn't even exist fortunately Sabrina is due to make her big return to TV and we'll get some real answers about her future timmy turner was living a miserable life before the fairies arrived he had neglectful parents a horrible babysitter and some pretty strict school teachers according to a popular theory Timmy never got fairies food was prescribed multiple antidepressants Cosmo and Wanda represent both Zoloft and Prozac giving Jimmy hope happiness and optimism when Timmy over uses their magic he actually overdoses on the pills and has to suffer from some pretty crazy side effects yikes this one was a little depressing I'm not crazy Danny phantoms whole premise is pretty crazy even for a cartoon he's a superhero who battles ghosts and supernatural creatures across multiple dimensions but is it all real a theory about the show states that everything after the pilot actually didn't happen Danny fell into a coma and everything that happens with his superhero adventures is actually all just part of his dreamlike coma state the aula dream theories are done for many shows but this one is more convincing than others doctor are you sure maybe we should get a second opinion the world of the Rugrats includes multiple seasons feature films and spin-off show like all grown up with so much content there are bound to be a ton of theories and many have spread around over the years one of the most popular theories involves the existence of the Rugrats altogether the dark-dark theory states that all of the babies are actually dead and the only way for Angelica to cope is by imagining the babies are all still alive the deaths of the babies are pretty sad as well and involves still births car accidents and miscarriages among others thankfully all grown-ups pretty much debunked the theory and showcases how the Rugrats are all alive and well I'm the manager this is damage my cartoons have always been an important part of our childhood and some of the best part toons have been those that came from one of the legendary studios Nickelodeon nick has been praised for its programming but what if we told you that sometimes nick has made headlines for the wrong reasons before we get started on some shocking secrets be sure to hit that red subscribe button to stay up to date on all things screen rants the great Angelica view if you're a fan of the 90s then chances are you'll be flooded with major nostalgia feels when we mention a little show called Rugrats maybe you've heard of it of course you have the show is one of the first Nicktoons that were ever created and if you're familiar with the time period you'll know that the humor and what was allowed on television was a lot different and like with the first round of most shows it was all about finding the right balance of what was kid-friendly and what was a little too much blood rats was a bit more on the cautious side compared to some other Nicktoons we're looking at you Ren and Stimpy however there was a debate among the writing staff about how to handle Angelica's meanness arlene klasky thought that the toddler Angelica was too much on the mean side however Paul Germain thought that she dealt with some of the heavier emotions that come with childhood both sides can be argued but alas Germaine was kicked off the show along with several other writers in 1993 the show was cancelled in 94 but rose to massive popularity through syndication so naturally more episodes were produced in 1996 this time with a little bit less meanness to it maybe Oh baby Oh baby [Music] Rocco's romance life you know the saying that times change and if you look back at some of Nickelodeon's older cartoons and content it's pretty clear how much has changed what are the more adult kids shows on the network was of course Rocko's Modern Life if you go back and watch the show there are plenty of moments which make you question why this was ever on a kids network just go back and watch it you'll see what we mean there are so many innuendos and jokes that you miss as a kid although it was less gross and not as mean as some of the other shows it did tend to go a bit far with it's not so subtle adult content it was definitely no surprise when the show eventually went a little too far with its episode leapfrogs in this episode missus bighead the croaky voice toad was trapped in a loveless marriage and was desperate for a little bit of attention from a man and so Bev bighead tries to seduce Rocco as you can imagine the theme of adultery was too much and was deemed too inappropriate for kids which resulted in the episode being pulled from the air listen Doug try to concentrate give up the Doug shows get cancelled all the time and sometimes we hope for them to get picked up and saved by other networks however in the case of Doug many fans feel as though it was better left alone but 1996 Doug transitioned over to Disney and joined their Saturday morning lineup doug was such a hit they ended up making a Doug movie in 1999 talk about success so what's not to love well naturally Disney made some changes like with the unique music they changed the theme song which was one of the best parts of the show they also changed the characters like Connie a character who was curvy ended up being turned skinny it was even part of the plot Roger got turned into a rich kid and no longer lived in a trailer park Doug got a baby sister and he was voiced by a completely different actor fans are still not happy about it today have no fear I have many powers of vision angry beavers last episode in the era of Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy we also had the three beavers again another show that was technically a kids show but the subject matter was not so innocent the premise followed two brothers nor bird and Dagon fever who left home to go out and explore the world all while getting into escapades and shenanigans but after four seasons the angry beavers was to come to a close so what do you do when your show is over well go out with a bang right co-creator Keith Catterick decided he wanted the final episode to have the beavers Norbert and Daggett realize that they were cartoon characters in a show that was about to be canceled although breaking the fourth wall works for some stories we were looking at you gen pool it was a no-no in Nickelodeon's book and so the last episode was cancelled a little ironic don't you think please Zoe gets canceled but don't you just hate it when your favorite shows get cancelled when you're not even expecting it Zoey 101 was one of Nickelodeon's highest-rated shows it originally aired in 2005 and followed Teen Zoey Brooks played by Jamie Lynn Spears as she enrolls in Pacific Coast Academy the school only allowed boys previously so we follow her and her friends they journey through boarding school although the show only lasted three years it received high praise including an Emmy nomination for outstanding children's program Jamie Lynn Spears was one of the most popular teen stars and was at the top of her game and not just because she was Britney's a little sister so why would a show like this come to an end well there are some complications the star of the show became pregnant and while that might not have been an issue on regular TV shows this was a kids show and miss Jamie Lynn was only 16 years old although it's unclear if that's the reason why it ended it has also been said that the show just ran its course can't all be a coincidence though right invader zim trial be careful what you ask for because he just might get it Nickelodeon wanted to bring some edge to the network and they got it when they took a chance on Jonah and Vasquez the show was totally different and unlike anything we have ever seen yet landish humor and characters were a hit among viewers show unfortunately got cancelled midway through the production of its second season it wasn't any issues with censorship believe it or not but rather the expensive high quality CG animations but the show remained a cult classic especially with merchandise so how could this awesome show about an alien receive any flak well will tell you the only thing worse than being canceled is to be mentioned by a defendant during a murder trial in 2005 a young woman was found murdered in her home and her neighbor was arrested and charged for murder the killer mentioned a fascination with an episode of invader zim called dark harvest in which Zim collects human organs in an attempt to seem more human needless to say invader zim his reputation suffered after this however some witnesses say that his comments were made and passing and were not to be taken as seriously no time for adventure if you're a fan of cartoons and are still a kid or a kid at heart chances are you've seen or at least heard of the Cartoon Network hit show Adventure Time the show is full of random nonsense creativity imagination and some of the strangest characters and plots the show is kooky wacky and downright strange to say the least but overall MIT's an excellent time the popular cartoon fantasy is about magic adventure and all kinds of awesome stuff you might be thinking what to Finn the human and Jake the dog have to do with Nickelodeon well have we got a story for you nickelodeon has a segment called Nickelodeon's random cartoons and in 2007 they had their hands on something big Pendleton Ward's original pilot of Adventure Time was in their grasp but they turned it down not just once but twice turns out it was just a little bit too weird you think Nickelodeon would be all over this but alas they weren't the pilot went viral and the rest as they say is history show totally revitalized Cartoon Network's programming wonder if Nickelodeon regrets their decision what do you think Rugrats anti-semitism controversy we know what you're thinking Rugrats is in here for a second time oh yes friends this popular show was not free from controversy Rugrats has been praised for its depiction of Judaism and was popular among Jewish families for its portrayal of the half Jewish family the pickles the show had a Passover and Chanukah special and gave kids some insights into Jewish ceremonies and family traditions arlene klasky who is a jewish woman from a mixed family as well believed that cultural representation was important which fans loved so it was quite a bit of a shock when the anti-defamation league accused a Rugrats newspaper comic strip of anti-semitism in 1998 the outrage happened over a comic strip that featured grandpa Boris reciting a prayer at Rosh Hashanah services while the protagonist baby the Curious Tommy pickles sits wondering what the adults are doing the strip in question was not meant to be disrespectful in any way but Abe Foxman of the anti-defamation league accused Boris's design of resembling anti-semitic Nazi era depictions of Jewish people Nickelodeon's response was to withdraw the comic strip from circulation SpongeBob's endless summer getting your boatmobile and rev up those fryers because we are sure hungry for some more spongebob news the lovable sea sponge with the infectious laughter is a force to be reckoned with he's been around for almost two decades and almost every kid knows his name but as with every great show it is not without its share of commotion and controversy and among the many surrounding spongebob throughout the years there was one in 2011 involving the hosts of Fox & Friends the episode in question the endless summer follows mr. Krabs trying to put more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to accelerate global warming and create an endless summer that way everyone will pay to go to his pool Fox & Friends attacked Sponge Bob and said the show only presents one side of the argument the accused Sponge Bob in the Department of Education for pushing a global warming agenda an by handing out copies of the book spongebob goes green an earth-friendly adventure however farts and friends accusation was inaccurate the Department of Education did not show cartoons at the event and the book was one of the many available for kids to choose from Oh Ren and Stimpy band episode when you think of sick and disturbing cartoons we are willing to bet that Ren and Stimpy is pretty high on that list as you may know Ren and Stimpy was notorious for pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable for kids cartoons on more than several occasions the show was always more popular with the older kids needless to say each episode always took it to the limit with its dark sense of humor but one particular episode was so brutally violent that it caused it to be banned immediately by Nickelodeon the episode in question is called man's best friend this episode totally crossed the line and when it comes to Ren & Stimpy that's saying a whole lot the episode featured its regular questionable humor and references to tobacco but one scene in particular was too much to handle the scene depicted ren using an oar to beat a character named george to a bloody pulp nick executives flag that is too violent which led crater john christow lucy to be fired and the episode was removed from syndication the only shocking thing about this was that it wasn't banned earlier as we transitioned into middle school and slowly started to mature nickelodeon kept us around thanks to their team nick programming block a variety of shows featured the great nick comedy and entertainment we loved but sometimes things went a little dark watch to see shocking storylines mature themes and some episodes that were downright banned from ever airing again before you watch click Subscribe you'll join our notification squad to be the first to now a brand new content and can you guess which movie is represented by these emoji stay tuned at the end to find out do they said I'm sorry please don't be mad at me I'm mad at you duh Drake and Josh for many of us the adventures of Drake and Josh was a comedy hit where we grew connected to the characters in their ongoing stories the stepbrothers often had crazy shenanigans and would often pull each other into convoluted plots involving cool relationships and work well the pals would bicker a lot things were never as serious as in the episode entitled josh is done after Drake forces Josh to miss an important exam Josh decides to end their friendship and start living separate lives throughout the course of the episode Drake's life slowly unravels until he reaches a dramatic breaking point played up with complete seriousness Drake goes on to explain to Josh how much he needs him how much his life is better with him in it and how sorry he is for the actions he caused the whole scene is pretty deep and has even more context now knowing the real-life rift between the two actors by the end of the episode there's no big happy ending but they do end up playing a game of ping pong together in an effort to repair their damaged relationship the episode showcases how friendships don't last forever and how important it is to never take a friend for granted Rocko goes to heck for a show about a wallaby Rocko's Modern Life sure explored some pretty dark subjects Rocko his best friend heifer has two different experiences with the show's version of Hell simply referred to as heck on the show in the episode - hacking back pepper chokes on a chicken bone and his presumed death forces the character down to heck there he meets peaches the animated form of the devil who spends their time torturing heifer the imagery maybe frightening to younger crowds in the trapped world of hack feels like torture while watching the episode just when you think heifer has escaped hack we learned he is still trapped there and peaches continues to play games one of the darkest parts is when peaches removes the black hood to reveal a scary face with squirting cow udders on top of their head peaches in the world of heck returns for the episode half in a handbasket this dark episode turns hack into a creepy game show where no one truly wins both episodes received complaints from viewers and were banned for a while before being reintroduced through team NIC reruns now you can see glimpses of an animated hell when Rocko's Modern Life is featured on late-night episodes of team Nicks Blatt Morty the strongest man in the world suddenly we had the answer let's mush hat head like a Lima Bean The Adventures of Pete and Pete Halloween episodes and children's program is typically pretty standard some episodes may have a few scares other feature fun costumes and then there's the Adventures of Pete and Pete Nick show about two brothers with the same name premiered in 1993 and aired for three seasons the quirky show featured a lot of surreal stories with dark themes but none were as dark as the Halloween episode entitled Halloween the episode starts out with creepy visuals and only gets creepier from there one of the darkest parts of the story involves a group of kids known as the pumpkin eaters these teens terrorized the town every year on Halloween with each one wearing a pumpkin with a terrifying carving on it another main storyline in the episode focuses on big Pete's transition from trick-or-treating he must deal with the sad truth of being too old to trick-or-treat and missing the glory days of collecting as much candy as possible everything in the episode comes to a head as both Pete's must take on the pumpkin eaters while losing the innocence of Halloween the final scenes all take place in a closed-down haunted house only adding to the scares and creepiness of the episode Kenan & Kel Kenan & Kel is show that never took themselves too seriously the characters often found themselves in crazy situations engaged in physical comedy and always hatched plans which ended up going wrong one way or another then out of nowhere the show
