[Music] hi kid it's this beautiful day here today the sun is shining it's a little bit cool and i was so ready to go out and enjoy the great outdoors when i suddenly remember that today i'm spending the day with the couch potato and everyone knows that the couch potato does not go anywhere huh i don't think that's the right thing oh hey hey dale what do you mean not the right saying yeah yeah i i think you meant to say the couch onion no no i i didn't mean to say the couch i need oh oh wait my bad the couch broccoli oh oh how about the couch pomegranate pretty sure that's not a thing oh i just remembered the saying oh boy well what's the saying gosh potato [Laughter] okay well without further ado shall we see what the couch potato is doing today i bet we know he's sitting on the couch well let's see let's see what wait a minute what why is this book wobbly couch potato uh remotes everywhere with this guy oh goodness okay here we go couch potato oh this already looks spectacular oh it's gonna be good i can feel it i am a potato not a small potato like my brother not a sweet potato like my mother oh not a mashed potato like my uncle still yo i am a couch potato oh yeah it's true my favorite place to slouch is on the couch i spent all my free time sitting in this exact spot why would i ever leave this comfy cozy couch it's got everything a potato could need see i have this oh that looks familiar and this a yo-yo and this game console thingamabob and one of these ando's and this oh popcorn and that oh that's a lot of butter and these oh everybody loves bunny slippers oh and this check it out this button activates a gadget that fetches me snacks whenever i want oh my goodness this is the most sophisticated sofa i have ever seen where does one buy a sofa that pours milk and carbos directly into your mouth the obesity is us stored perhaps bam impressed and i don't have to move an inch much easier than going to the kitchen if the most important thing in life is to be comfortable at all times then i think i've got it all figured out ah oh no i think our little tater's in for a rude awakening it's not the most important thing in life to be comfortable because then you'll never get out of your comfort zone and discover new things well maybe he'll figure it out before the book is over we'll see but wait there's more i haven't revealed the absolute best part about my whole setup oh look at this it's like screenotopia it's everything you see in front of me have a look around take it all in pretty spectacular right yes it's a sea of shimmering screams from wall to shining wall what a joy what bliss these screens right here feature my favorite tv shows they seem to be uh fries uh mad yam and mashed potatoes oh is that her uncle this screen has all my unanswered messages these screens are where i play video games and this screen is a live stream of my friend my best spot for life hey buddy this is how my pals and i spent quality time together it's much easier than trying to meet up somewhere like folks did in the old days the old days that's for sure hey spotty hey pal tato wow everything from your sofa i mean it sounds awesome but i feel like something might be missing well let's see yes from this very couch i can control everything in my life with just a few taps and a couple clicks not bad eh yes siree this is the life at least that's what i thought until the other day what happened the other day we shall turn the page and find out something strange happened there was a knock at the door it was a delivery look at that the front door cam also comes out of this million dollar sofa uh see what was it it was my newest device a video camera that would allow me to watch myself react while i was watching all my favorite shows woohoo wait a minute you're gonna watch a show and watch yourself watching the show why oh okay oh okay all i had to do was plug it in and my room nay my kingdom would be complete but suddenly [Applause] oh no the lights are out can you see anything oh the potato blew out all the electricity in the house from too many devices oh no what are we going to do everything went dark look out coming through whoops yeah i made it to the window i pulled back the curtain oh oh the brightness the sun seemed brighter than i remembered oh but look look do you see this what a beautiful day outside that's what i wanted to go explore right out there well there's nothing better to do so i decided to take my dog tater for a walk tater's happy about it outside it'd been a while he's got his little hat on just like i do everything was so vivid like a high resolution 156 inch curved screen but even more realistic wow that was so specific after that after a little bit something smelled oh fresh and after a few moments i realized that it was the air smell that the fresh air let's do that again ah oh yeah that feels good i heard a noise some chirps a ringtone perhaps but no i look at the sea some actual birds that's right the tweets are from actual birds and then i wandered down the street from block to block and across the neighborhood eventually i found a park with a hill and there was a massive tree on top it looked like a desktop background only it was real neat neat i leaned against the tree it wasn't as comfortable as my couch not even closed but after a while ah it wasn't so bad any worries about the power outage and what i might be missing drifted away i wasn't thinking about my favorite shows or my unanswered messages or anything else really you know what's happening right now to our little couch potato couch potato is living in the moment that's right have you ever heard that phrase living in the moment not distracted by something else or thinking about someone or something that's not there but you're really present that's what's happening right now it's very zen i noticed the stillness the view the sky the clouds the sunset and those colors my goodness it took a while because there was no fast forward option but eventually the sun sank below the horizon like it always does by the time i got home the power was back on oh hey power power's back on i sat on the couch whoo i hit the button to brush my teeth squeezy squeezy scratch squeezy squeezy squeezy squishy scrooge i i pulled the lever to change into my pajamas bloop i turned the knob to watch a kid time story time bedtime story good night spud hey kid then i noticed my reflection in one of the screens i wondered how much of my life had been spent in that very spot it was then in there that i made the decision to peel myself off the couch potato humor a little more often maybe every day even bold decisions are happening and so that's what i've done it's a new day i started hanging out with my friends my best buddies outside we started biking and hiking and swimming splash splash splash and hiding and seeking sometimes we have snacks and play board games sometimes we talk all day we might watch the clouds there's no big plan we just see what happens oh i see what's happening here potato and his buddies are just going with the flow that's right just being in the moment it makes me wonder what if i don't always need to be totally comfortable that's a big thought big thought what if i'm happier when i have a better balance between my gadgets and the world outside because it turns out that i'm much more than a couch potato i'm an amusing potato i'm a smart potato hmm i'm a kind potato here you go bubbles i'm an entertaining potato yolo and i'mma sit on a hill and watch the sunset kind of potato ah yes there's a great big world out there and i want to be a part of it in person irl in real life but don't get me wrong at the end of a long day after i run and played and talked and laughed with my friends i still think it's awfully nice to slouch on the couch ah with a book in this case the catcher and the fry and a nice cup of what is that spudley is that a herbal tea is it a cocoa so many potential choices and oh look at that it's a brand new day in spuds life and and okay did you catch the big idea there did you you know what it was right oh and it was it was it i i i might have it's a big idea okay okay dill the big idea was is that you can't put a premium what does that mean you can't make the number one most important thing in your life be being comfortable what what no no you got to get out of that pickle jar oh but i like my saline yeah yeah no i know you do your salty water your brine is fantastic oh it's so good yeah but you want to get out and see the world and and experience new things because if you're always comfortable then you'll never know anything new and exciting and expands your horizons oh so i should maybe go visit some other jars yes you should definitely visit some other jars see how they pickle yep see how they pickle oh this could be exciting okay i'm gonna go oh oh oh that was quick that was quick oh okay okay sure sure i'll get your remote okay thanks i see that you want to go oh wait okay somebody else is giving me a remote all right all right okay i'll grab yours all right all right kid got your okay all right this uh oh this one's small okay this is the last one okay just hold on to your remotes just okay that's great you're gonna go out just put them down i'll put them right here right around couch
