ahead of exciting performances from special guests who have traveled here from across the globe led by The Marvelous All Souls Orchestra and the 300 singers of the coronation prom Mass Choir who will be filling this Hall in just a few moments time behind me celebrating with me tonight in this beautiful Gallery Studio are the best seats in the hall in fact they are India's finest tenor anando Mukherjee and concert pianist and conductor Maria March and welcome both of you to the gallery here it's so wonderful to have two amazing experts sitting beside me here for what promises to be an incredible night and anando you know all about performing here in the Royal Albert Hall tell me what is it like you asked well I have performed here Claire and as you say it's an iconic venue there's no place quite like it and a royal venue built in 1871 by Queen Victoria in memory of Prince Albert and ever since that time it has been the focus of major national and international events and concerts and of course the largest classical concerts in the world the BBC Proms and we are in the heart of London just a stone's throw away from the palace and if there's any place to be it's here on Coronation night it is absolutely spectacular indeed and Maria of course you're no stranger to performing yourself but what are you particularly looking forward to tonight well there are so many highlights to enjoy but I'm really excited to hear some classic coronation music from the Fantastic All Souls Orchestra well over a hundred players will be playing music by Walton Elgar Handel including some of the music that we heard earlier today in the coronation ceremony and as well as the coronation prom masked choir I'm so excited that the kingdom choir will be singing some contemporary Arrangements of songs as well including an arrangement of Amazing Grace it'll be absolutely spectacular and as you say it has been such a historic and momentous day how we reflect on everything you've experienced today and looking ahead to tonight well I suppose um speaking for myself it is as for for many people from if not all people who saw it are once in a lifetime event I mean we are witnessing history and it doesn't quite sink in yet but I think you know years from now we'll look back and say I was there and for me particularly there were two instances during the coronation which particularly stood out uh one was when the king entered and said I come to serve and not to be served echoing the words of Jesus who was the king of kings and Lord of lords and secondly oh that thought we will come back to you on that much more to say about that because it is going to be spectacular and as you watch this evening from around the world let us know where you are tuning in from by using the hashtag hashtag coronation prom or leaving a comment in the YouTube chat also we also want to welcome all those tuning in right around the world on Premier Christian radio you're very welcome indeed tonight you can even send us a picture using the Fantastic coronation prom Instagram filter we've been using it is absolutely fabulous and I just head over to Instagram and in your filters search for coronation prom and why not even send us a picture and show us how you're celebrating this evening we'd love to see so many of your pictures take a selfie again and use the hashtag coronation prom now and Andrew we were downstairs during most of the coronation ceremony itself today watching it backstage with all the orchestra and all the artists here this evening and how special was that occasion and what are your highlights from the event it was amazing because on one hand we were witnessing history and being part of a national and International Event and a religious ceremony but on the other hand we were rehearsing for this evening's performance again a spectacular musical celebration and as I said one highlight was obviously the king echoing those words of Jesus the second was when he received the specially commissioned Bible where it said you know this was the most precious possession in the world and we can see some of those images now because it really was an exceptional event to witness and it all took place on the other side of the royal part from where we are sitting right now we don't take why don't we take a closer look at what it was really like earlier today as the world flocked to the Streets of London to catch a glimpse of that remarkable ceremony foreign [Music] [Music] ation day so we're gonna go across London and interview people and get the real feelings of what it's like to be in central London with the coronation day there you go big time is ready [Music] hello [Music] yes [Music] so on the back it's a message and it's worth more than a million pounds on the front it's about Jesus Christ and how we pay the price for you [Music] thank you [Music] all right [Music] I'm exciting and I think it's in my paper wants your life not only the British king he's the mother of the commonwealth countries so Bangladesh is easily present in Bangladesh as well and now we know what it really felt like to be on the London Street coronation [Music] making their way to the way this evening very special guests I'm delighted to be joined here this evening by her Excellence Lee Agnes aswaja the ambassador of South Sudan to the United Kingdom good evening to you thank you for joining us here this evening how did you celebrate the coronation today to be among the attended coronation live in Abe So I was Sudan and join the people of the United Kingdom and the royal family in this great Jubilation wonderful and how does it feel and to be celebrating at the end of that a glorious day here at a venue like the Royal Albert Hall it is wonderful and you know this is a rare occasion we are so happy to be here I'm here with a member of my delegation the principal guest so it's just an extension of joy and to appreciate God Almighty for today it's a great day it's wonderful to have you here to celebrate it's a wonderful evening of music is there any particular moments this evening or any particular musical pieces uh or parts of the of the program that you're looking forward to in the performance tonight I look forward to enjoying the program from A to Z and I believe it will be wonderful it's worship songs thank you for having me bless you thank your Excellency back to you Claire thank you thank you so much Paul wonderful to hear from the Ambassador there and we'll be hearing from many more people during the evening but we're now going to chat once again to the wonderful Hernando and Maria and Ando you know what it's like to perform here what is going to make tonight special crides from across the the globe across the the country going to be coming here tonight well tonight the focus of course is going to be the great coronation music the anthems the overtures the marches all this Royal music both sacred and secular and of course uh the Highlight one of the highlights among many will be zadok the priest which we heard today when the queen when the King was being anointed and of course Handel wrote that piece in 1727 for the coronation of King George II and it's been played for every single coronation since and it recalls that moment of the Bible recorded in one Kings when King Solomon is Anointed by holy oil by the priest zadak and the prophet Nathan showing that King's rule on Earth by the author authority of the King of Kings and the Lord of lords so that's a marvelous piece and I think one of the highlights of this evening absolutely it's certainly add to making it a very special occasion and Maria musically as a concert pianist what are you looking forward to most tonight what's going to make it special for you well I'm really excited to hear the pianists from the Netherlands who's called Jan Moulder so I'm really excited he's recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and he's going to be playing some of his own arrangements so that's going to be a real highlight for me we've also got Brian Dirksen in the building as well and something that's really a special to me is Holst Jupiter from the planets and of course we all know the Melody I vowed thee my country that today the choir and the audience and the orchestra agency actually playing and singing to the words by Michael Perry Oh God beyond all praising which I feel is so important because then we're thinking not just the king that's crowned today or the wonderful King Solomon from the Bible in one Kings but the king of all kings that one day we will all bow down before absolutely thank you so much for an eye well shortly the 120 piece All Souls Orchestra will be stepping out onto the Royal Albert stage to treat us to a majestic selection of Royal music for all of the family to enjoy but I believe Sandra has found another special guest celebrating with us Sandra who have you got oh my gosh I'm so excited this is an amazing time to be talking to incredible people well tonight I'm going to be speaking to Mr Ivan Romero Martinez ambassador of Honduras welcome to the evening how are you feeling about this evening it's a pleasure to be here and it's this important day for all the world I feel very happy I attend the ceremonial correction this morning yesterday I also we was in the Buckingham Palace with the Israel family and a lot of friends I feel happy and happiness for the new king and a new Queen brilliant how long have you been coming to the All Souls orchestra events I have 15 years to live here Diplomat normally take five to four days four years but in this moment I still too many too much time yes I wanted to promote my country and to coordinate all the activities wonderful is there something specifically looking forward to in the program this evening well I would always attend the prom or the Christian Embassy and I am very happy to expect again the happiness and the Fantastic music and of course pray wow you sound excited I'm excited thank you so much for joining me it's a pleasure to be here for me brilliant thank you so much well we'll go over to Claire to find out what else is coming up this evening what a rich Feast of Music we have in store for you this evening so much to look forward to and Marie you've played in the All Souls Orchestra yourself what is that whole experience like and and how are they going to be feeling tonight Claire I direct the choir at All Souls Church Langan place which is also the home of the All Souls Orchestra and where the orchestra was founded by conductor Emeritus Knoll tradinick and last year we had a special prom phrase to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the All Souls Orchestra and I'm so honored and excited to play gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue as a concerto here it's a terrific occasion Hernando was performing as well of so much joy in the arm really excited to hear them play I imagine they'll be excited I was chatting to many of them backstage it's going to be a really exciting event and of course the orchestra have some Royal connections and referees themselves and there was an amazing occasion in 2017 when the orchestra performed for her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for the 150th anniversary of the scripture Union and I believe him was actually written as especially for that occasion called God of unchanging Grace so the orchestra no stranger to Royal occasions absolutely and tonight of course is one and very shortly the orchestra will be taking to the stage they'll be walking out very soon and anandu you've also performed here as well and how do you think those artists are going to be feeling tonight yes well gosh I mean Maria we'll appreciate this being a performer uh when you perform here it's um it's like nothing else on Earth really it's a very very special feeling and you walk out on that stage and you look out in that vast expanse you've got to pinch yourself and say am I really here we will have to hold you there because I am certain those artists must be feeling a combination of nerves and enormous excitement too now as we saw earlier today music plays an essential part of the coronation ceremony Why Don't We join Michael Andrews The Man Behind this evening's performance as he shares some of the history behind the coronations and introduces us to some of the composers who wrote New pieces for today's coronation service [Music] [Applause] 1066 that's the year that we all remember from our history lessons at school and coronations have been taking place for English and British Kings at Westminster Abbey ever since that momentous year and coronation Services over the last Millennium have developed symbolism regalia readings from scripture and of course wonderful music I want to unpack some of the best music that's been written for the coronation service and to find out a little bit more about the music being written for this next chapter of 21st century coronations with the robe of righteousness and with the garments of salvation I'm here right in the heart of London on Brook Street where George Frederick Handel lived from 1723 until his death and its handle that wrote one of the greatest coronation anthems of all time zadok the priest the words that he said are taken from one Kings chapter 1 which is found in the Old Testament words that have been said at every coronation ceremony since 973 at the crowning of King Edgar at bath Abbey here on Brook Street Handel wrote that very coronation Anthem in this building behind me [Music] his majesty the King has commissioned 12 New pieces for the coronation service from the worlds of film Musical Theater concert and church church music and over the last few weeks we've caught up with some of those composers and musicians involved in today's coronation service to find out how they prepared for this momentous day oh Patrick thank you so much for chatting to me today I it's such an honor to meet you given how many amazing film scores and concert pieces you've written over so many years you know from Bridget Jones's Diary to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire from Thor to Cinderella and now this year 2023 writing the coronation March for King Charles III how does that feel reflecting on already such an incredible career well it's a tremendous honor obviously it came as a total shock and surprise but I was absolutely thrilled to be asked um it was quite intimidating to begin with as you can imagine the idea of millions of people watching this event quite different from hiding behind a big movie and all the actors and everything else so but a great honor well I think I think it felt a little bit surreal uh my reaction was that well this is amazing absolutely incredible and then I immediately the creative juices started working I was like how can I make the most beautiful piece of music I I've ever written because you think it's got to be this piece it's got to be the most emotive the most sort of moving um and combine all of these elements [Music] the car [Music] s live as possible you know we've got representations from all over the Commonwealth and I'm just really excited and truly truly honored and it's a huge privilege we've been asked to be a part of it um at the Abbey and I'm just really excited to share all the new commissions that um that are going to be shared on the day so um here's The Broach that I play that I wear when I'm whenever I'm on duty so whenever I'm playing the Royal harp I wear this very special brooch that's been handed back so from Catherine Finch all the way to my my time in the role and yeah it's a really special one and we've got the Prince of Wales feathers at the top there and obviously the harp and it's um yeah it's really special to be sort of in charge of this for a little while it's amazing just across from the Royal Albert Hall where this evening's coronation prom is taking place is the Royal College of Music where Sue Hubert Parry was a professor of composition for many years he wrote one of the most famous coronation anthems of all I was glad setting the words of the Psalm 122 and we had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with one of today's coronation service composers Paul Miller his majesty asked me to arrange a Fanfare that he liked for for many many years which will happen at the very end so I'm at the beginning of the end which is which is wonderful um so Paul milia's bucket bookending the coronation perfect yeah there's quite a bit in between I have to add we've not had a monarch really since I think Queen Victoria that that has loved music so much he really has if you talk to him a great knowledge of Music he played the cello himself sang as well uh so knows a lot about music if you go into his study um uh you'll see the whole world full of CDs and recordings and LPS it means a great deal I'm a Christian myself and I I've I've started and still write mostly uh Christian's Sacred Music um for me as someone who who really believes that the texts that I'm setting um it has another dimension I think near where I live in San Francisco on Divisadero Street was the uh original location of an important bit of San Francisco musical Heritage called the San Francisco tape Center there was this period of music making called phase music that comes out of people like Terry Reilly and I was I was sort of thinking about that when I wrote the piece you know phase music is when you take um a single line and you sort of begin to break it apart so you start hearing these resonances as the Unison idea starts getting further and further apart and so in the earnest day it doesn't it doesn't do it very much but it does it slightly and so you get this sort of ricocheting effect in the voices I met Prince Charles a couple years before at the Riverside Studios so we're all very nervous and I was on stage playing the piano as the musical director yeah it was honestly is because it was part of the production and there was a lamp it was sat on the piano which shown in my music so as the lights went down I started to play and it was the star music very very vigorous and difficult to play so I looked up at one point and I couldn't believe my eyes the lamp was moving towards me it was like a nightmare the next thing it fell off the piano through the music all over me oh no and then there was a stunned silence I was completely mortified and my life flashed in front of the band and I thought is the music was out of of order so I shouted in this position has anyone seen page one Prince Charles as it was then and Friends of laughter I thought this is really happening is this really happening and I got the music together I got on with the play and then afterwards um we were introduced to Prince Charles as it was then and they come up to me and he bust out laughing he said that was very funny you should do that every night wow what a great first impression I started composing this piece on a Monday and on the Sunday I was at Mass and I was praying to God by saying please please please give me inspiration because I just cannot think how to start this and the next morning it could be coincidence I don't know but the next morning I just had this tune going round and round in my head and throughout the creative the creative process um I've really felt both the presence of my late father and of God very much very strongly with me yeah today we enjoy the rich Heritage of Coronation music written over the last Millennium and on this momentous day we also get to enjoy this new chapter in our nation's history coronation music for this Millennium and worshipful Transcendent music for the king of all Kings [Music] oh yes indeed come on everybody where are we Albert Hall ladies and gentlemen indeed we are down here we're nearly ready to go look at where have you come from finally today from Bristol all the way from Bristol for here from Bristol wonderful well ladies and gents boys and girls the coronation prom is going to begin very shortly give us a big cheer hi Studio [Music] absolutely absolutely fabulous scenes down there it's looking like it's really hot enough and and all the fans are getting so excited to see the performers and speaking of some of those performers let's hear now from The Fabulous Kingdom choir so my name is Karen Gibson and I'm the conductor of the Kingdom choir we best remembered for singing at the wedding of Harry and Megan in 2018. our lucky day is very special to me because it's such a soul of joy and it's one that we always get the class to join in Step touching and clapping their hands and it's like a testimony of how great the day has been and I think we're all looking forward to our crate day on Saturday [Music] but it's really easy dancing so that hopefully the whole of the royal alcohol will be you know thundering to the sounds of people stepping yeah and clapping yeah it's not just about the words it's not just about the harmonies it's not about the Rhythm it's not enough it's about the message and the feel and then the connection that we all have thank you the words there from Karen Gibson who leads the kingdom choir if she has done for the last 20 years and I for one cannot wait to see them perform here tonight and speak to them at the very end of the night it's going to be very very special indeed well it is as we say getting very packed down there and any minute now the lead violinist Karen Cavalier will be walking out onto the stage I'm sure she's nervous at this stage she'll be followed of course by the conductor Michael Andrews to kick off our coronation prom celebrations and anando and Maria this really is the moment we've all been waiting for tonight absolutely curtain up and the instruments tuning to concert a and it's that strange combination of Terror and excitement pure adrenaline nothing quite like it but particularly this evening because as you know as we've all talked about this is the coronation prom it'll never happen again so it's the the weight of the occasion is upon us but Michael Michael Andrews as I'm sure Maria will agree is more than capable of rising to that occasion oh absolutely to Michael Andrews is such an experience a brilliant musician a wonderful conductor and a prolific orchestrator and a ranger some of his Arrangements will hear tonight but he's also written music for BBC songs of praise as well as for the Saint Paul's Cathedral Mast choir and his Works have been featured on film and television for orchestra are in very safe hands I'm sure it's going to be a tremendous occasion I cannot wait to hear the opening sounds of the Walton and the whole concert of Coronation prom I know it's going to be just spectacular it's hard to put into words really and you know what it's going to be like and the atmosphere 5000 people over five thousand people packing this wonderful iconic venue out here tonight and they've come from all over and from all backgrounds how wonderful is it to be able to share this coronation prom music with everybody here absolutely and that of course brings us very appropriately to the very first piece that's going to be played the great coronation Anthem orb and scepter composed by Sir William Walton in 1953 for the late Queens coronation and uh it's a it's a piece filled with Christian symbolism and imagery the orb representing Christ's rule of all the dominions and kingdoms of the world the scepter surmounted by the cross signifying the fact the king rules under the authority of Christ as king of kings and Lord of lords and finally the other scepter the rod of mercy and equity topped by the dove signifying the holy spirit that no King particularly our King King Charles uh can rule without the guidance and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit well I've got to have to interrupt you because Karen Cavalier the lead violinist of course is coming out onto the stage now she's taking her by to wonderful Applause from the audience a momentous day for her as she takes her position and of course she will be followed very closely by Michael Andrews the principal conductor thank you [Music] thank you foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] all right prom party by saying a big rousing God Save the King why don't we try it with the orchestra in the choir first why didn't we try it after three one two three right you've got to beat the orchestra in the choir right are you ready here we go one two three oh fantastic you're in brilliant voice well I wonder what your favorite moment from this morning's coronation service might have been I tell you what mine was I love that little boy at the beginning who kicked it all off how nerve-wracking must that have been um it's nerve-wracking standing up here but that little boy kicking off the coronation service goodness me and of course what did he say he said to kick off the service I welcome you King Charles in the Name of the King of Kings and then King Charles what a great way to start his Reign he said those words I come to serve and not to be served I come in the King of Kings example and that's what we're planning to do this evening we're planning to celebrate our new king and queen let's give a big cheer hooray and we're also planning to celebrate the King of Kings who rules overall now our first guest of this evening has traveled all the way from Vancouver Canada to be with us this is really exciting isn't it and uh he has written some of the world's most well-known songs sung in churches all across the globe and in fact one of his songs that's going to feature in this medley was sung at the Spirit of Windrush service that the late Queen hosted at Westminster Abbey in 2017 faithful one so unchanging so without further Ado ladies and Gentlemen please welcome our next guest of the evening um because we are welcoming a a wonderful concert pianist from the Netherlands um he now lives oh we've got some people in the Netherlands wonderful um he now resides in the U.S and he's performed with the London Symphony Orchestra the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Andrea Bocelli and recorded many wonderful pieces of music over the years and tonight he's going to play to us three pieces um and he's going to perform for us the first time that we'll hear the national anthem this evening but with some slightly different words so don't worry we will sing the national anthem at the end of the concert but but yarn's going to bring us a wonderful piece a lovely rendition of the national anthem he's also going to bring us one of his original compositions oceans of dreams and he's going to perform for us one of the nation's favorite hymns How Great Thou Art now I don't know whether you knew this but how great thou art has quite a long history it stretches back to the 19th century it has Swedish Roots It Was Written in Sweden oh Sweden I can't mention any country without a chair this evening I should well it's her yes wonderful welcome um started in Sweden and uh Stuart K Hein in the 1920s he was strolling through the Carpathian Mountains as a missionary and he heard this wonderful hymn being sung and he thought well why don't I translate that into English I'll write a new version and say he was wandering through Ukraine at a time when it was really War torn just like it is today it was running through stalinist collectivization and so in his wonderful hymn that he wrote he talked about the lofty Mountain Grandeur that he was experiencing he walked through the woods and Forest Glades and he kept on saying to himself wow how great you are God that you made this world well before we welcome yarn to the stage Jan Mulder to play those three pieces I thought given that the first of those three pieces is how great thou art and its links with Ukraine this would be a great point to pause and hear about one of our sponsors this evening's that that has helped to make this evening happen as well as our live stream we're going to be hearing from World Vision it's an amazing charity that has supported 200 million young children around the world going through the toughest times in war-torn countries going through poverty and they continue to work in over 100 million 100 countries around the world so without further Ado let's watch this video to see the work that World Vision is doing around the world today [Music] [Applause] those of you that do would love to take a CD away this evening several of our special guests have CDs on sale at door six alongside some coronation prom memorabilia so if you'd like to take something away just to remember this evening do please go to door six and for those watching online there's an online store as well that you can access to find out more this evening about something that you could perhaps take away well in a moment's time we're going to be welcoming a world-renowned gospel choir the incredible Kingdom choir led by Karen Gibson and uh they're going to be singing to us two songs lovely day by Bill Withers are you having a lovely day okay I think it's going to require some moving and some some dancing are you up but I think everyone down here is up for dancing are you up for dancing are you all up for dancing that's the question yes okay okay very good well in the moment's time we'll welcome Karen Gibson to lead us in that but before that uh the kingdom choir are going to sing for us a classic hymn that celebrates its 250th anniversary this year because it was first sung 250 years ago from New Year's Day this year and that hymn is Amazing Grace and I don't know if you know the history behind it but it was actually written by someone who was a slave trader for most of his life in his early years he traded slaves across the Atlantic and it was one day while he was off the coast of Ireland in the midst of a storm that he realized his need of God in his life his need of Grace of forgiveness and so at that moment in the middle of this massive storm he he prayed to God that he would be saved that he would come to know the king of kings that we've been celebrating throughout today's coronation proceedings but he went on to become a minister and he went on actually to realize how cruel and appalling his behavior had been and so alongside William Wilberforce and Ola olauda equiano he fought for the abolition of slavery throughout the British Empire at the time and several decades after he passed away that became reality slavery was abolished throughout the Empire so his influence is it is enormous and he leaves this wonderful hymn of praise Amazing Grace so without further Ado let's welcome the kingdom choir led by Karen Gibson ladies and gentlemen foreign [Music] like you believe me I was was lost but now I found was blind but the storytelling Bible Journeys from Genesis to revelation sharing 90 Bible stories with children and accessible and enjoyable way suitable for those of all faiths and none inviting children to stand before the burning bush follow the exploits of a dreamer take a seat at the Last Supper open the book an exciting storytelling project continues the tradition of intergenerational Storytelling everything you need for a Bible story well told it's been a way to express my feelings and just to celebrate music helps children to communicate bringing people together and it's really exciting as part of this project that we give that opportunity to children to come and be part of a greater musical experience prom praise for schools is fun it is the most amazing event this might be the only expression people may get to have being a young child may be the teachers or their parents can't mean to afford tuition the kids really need an outlet which isn't just Academia and it can help them on so many different levels and it will support them in their learning you could be playing the small part of someone taking that first step into the rest of their life thank you [Music] thank you [Music] very warm welcome back to the celebrations here at coronation prom live from London's Royal Albert Hall I mean what an astonishing first half we've just witnessed here from the historical orchestral overtures to resigning Coral anthems and hymns filling This Magnificent Hall oh we need to take a breath I think well some of those heavenly voices join us now here in our Gallery Studio it is of course Karen Gibson and the Magnificent Kingdom choir you're so very welcome to our bird's eye view of everything going on down there Isn't it nice I know yeah I'm gonna take most of this home Karen honestly I mean this I'm having a bit of a fan moment I've waited a long time to meet you guys and it was so special to see you live tonight what did it feel like down there amazing just just incredible the sense of excitement and not only that but together but togetherness the sense of excitement and togetherness in the hall with so many people just Indescribable really beautiful I mean you've played and some magnificent theaters all over the world how does tonight compare oh I know that's a toffee because everywhere well I know because you know every every event every performance whether it's a workshop or a church event or the Royal it has its own merits and of course the Royal Albert Hall is Iconic and we are on a historic day so that's Unforgettable that's going to be a real special one now tell me for people who don't know Kingdom choir I can't believe there is anybody who doesn't but how did you all come together I mean it's been 20 years of a journey hasn't it it's actually been more than that it's more like 30 years actually but um oh it was on organic Journey so a few of us many of them have moved on now uh were part of a wider london-wide choir and we were singing for a radio station then we got asked to buy songs of praise to sing for them and they said what's your name and I said we don't have a name and they said well you better get one by tomorrow we're going to call you back and I dreamed of the name the kingdom choir and that's when we became a proper entity after that dream and what does that name mean it has a special meaning yes it does and I didn't know at the time I didn't even like it but it means the king's domain were the gods realm where God's realm is at work wonderful wonderful wonderful and you all enjoyed performing tonight um you looked like you enjoyed performing tonight I specialize it to be part of this wonderful choir it's incredible I mean it's really nice to be able to be in special places like the Royal Albert Hall but it's great to be able to worship together whether we're on stage or backstage there's a real sense of fellowship and Community which I think permeates right through to us performing and singing with the audience as well yeah and talking of the audience there's people from all walks of life here from all faiths and none how important is it for you to get your message across in song with with the music you perform yeah I think because as Karen rightly said you know the choir's name is Kingdom choir so it's all about having different people interacting touching different people's lives from all walks of lives race culture Creed ages um so yeah it was just brilliant to be to be part of that tonight well you deserve a retreat we've got some flowers but we're going to hand over to Karen for you all to enjoy come on in this lovely lady has designed this set tonight so I think she deserves a bit of Praise thank you so much honestly it's just a small token of our appreciation much appreciated not a problem not a problem I didn't arrange them myself okay all right they wouldn't have looked like that to tell me what's next for you guys oh so at the minute we're getting ready for um our 30th Anniversary show which is gonna be at the end of November um at the Queen Elizabeth Hall sadly it's sold out but um hopefully we could get more yeah next time and we've got dates in between that as well some things are Broad and some private things and yeah so busy busy busy busy busy wonderful thank you so much for taking time out to see us tonight for sharing your music with us thank you so much of course the kingdom choir is rendition of Amazing Grace and lovely day will be available to watch On Demand here on the All Souls music YouTube channel now and as Michael mentioned yes I know that deserves a woo and as Michael mentioned on his special day of celebrations earlier maybe you'd like to take a souvenir home from London well Paul was Keen to take a look at what was available to take home thank you Claire yes indeed we are out here with the merchandise team marvelous D here hello how's it going how's merchandise going to sell and we've got a beautiful collection of items all right well let's have a look then what we've got here available available all over the place by the way you can get online all soulsmusic.org and you can get a tea towel a tote bag a bug so let's have a little look Tita there is nothing that really to me says British Regal occasions more than the tea Tower it's a classic isn't it it's a classic detail so what have you got could show us the uh the coronation prompted most amazing tea towel we've got you can have one for at home but you can also take one into your office at work you know it's a great way of acquainting people with coronation prom so this is what it looks like and we sell it online as well very good too look at that so I mean you know it's just standard isn't it your standard Regal occasion you've got to have the British tea towel of course nothing more British than tea absolutely thank you very much D so T-Town is available tote bag now this is more modern isn't it I mean I don't know what the previous coronation if they had tote bags available I'm sure they had tea towels but look at this how's it going how is it how's the the what do you tell us what's so good about having a tote bag in your life look at this at home so yeah one more thought back won't hurt we can put anything like inside it's very con comfortable convenient and yeah very nice purple as well Regal colors purple Regal colors of course wonderful thank you much indeed merchandise available here of course for those here uh live and of course online allsourcemusic.org and the mug of course how is the merchandise going and are mugs flying off the shelves hopefully not causing too much damage well what is more British than a cup of tea you've got to have a mug if you're going to have any kind of merchandise on a royal occasion and this one's a nice deep one comes with its own coaster very practical I love that I've never seen a mug with its own coaster before but look at that that's incredible look at this very much indeed wonderful work uh thank you merchandise team back to you Claire from us here at merch lovely stuff Paul and we're enjoying these fabulous mugs as you can see the coronation prom tea mugs with the built-in coaster I mean what more do you want they're absolutely fabulous aren't they oh amazing absolutely and of course go to all soulsmusic.org as Paul was saying to find out how you can get your very own if you if you're not here tonight and you're watching from home check out the website so it's been a marvelous start to the coronation prom hasn't it I mean let's take a breath and and think about our highlights anando I mean it was all marvelous wasn't it oh gosh you know we're spoiled for choice where to choose from but I think if I had to choose one piece it'd have to be uh Jan Mulder's rendition of How Great Thou Art I mean that is um the nation's favorite hymn it's my favorite him it's very moving and I thought the performance was a very sensitive one which really brought a lot of pathos and just pulled at the heartstrings really it really did and what about your heartstrings what what filled the heartstrings for you well Claire I think seeing just seeing visually the whole of the Royal Albert Hall dance two lovely days sung by the amazing Kingdom choir that was an amazing experience is there anything more joyous I know the toy in the room was just tremendous I thought that was fantastic that was just such a wonderful moment it really was and what about Jupiter you were looking forward to Jupiter did that live up I found that very emotional actually that the setting of those words with those soaring Melodies and the orchestra made up of Christian musicians just playing their absolute hearts and souls and to every note they were playing it was very very emotional it certainly was I mean I know um we've been here all day in the build up and you see the rehearsals and it is a real privilege to get the backstage insight into what goes into a performance and a show like this um you know what it's like to walk out there where how will they be feeling now as they look ahead to the second half well I suppose um speaking as a performer you know you go backstage and you you heave a sigh of relief few oh at least in our first half's over and now there's everything to play for for the second half so I think they'll be relieved but I think they'll be exhilarated and I think having had that enormous reception that warmth that love flowing from the audience uh it'll just um encourage them and spur them on to give it their all in the second half definitely and what about you for the second half what are we looking forward to most well the start of the second half is going to be so exciting it's a work by French composer Kami sassons the Organ Symphony which is the third Symphony the finale we're going to hear this evening composed in 1886 and premiered by the Royal Philharmonic Society Richard Lennox is going to be on the organ and this organ is rather a special one Claire yes no tell me about the organ because it's am I right and saying it's the second biggest in the UK that's correct and it's got 999 pipes I mean that's a lot they couldn't squeeze one more why stop at 9996.99 and in fact the South song starts with this massive C major chord I mean it just brings to mind the the Grandeur and the Splendor of the day that we've seen today I can't wait to hear it it's going to be fantastic do you know at all how the size of this compares to organs and churches and and holes around the world well it's certainly going to fill this massive space that that's for sure and I'm also excited that The Rock soprano Joanne Lund is going to be singing as well so I'm really looking forward to that it said well there's something for everyone there's even something from Star Wars I saw in the program today which is all about the the throne room so I'm it's an absolute fantastic program there's something for everyone in tonight's coronation prom so true thank you both for an eye well as the orchestra continue to have a short break one musician in particular has quite literally been shaking this room let's meet who we mentioned just now Richard Lennox some time now I've been deeply troubled by the growing difficulties faced by Christian communities in various parts of the Middle East it seems to me that we cannot ignore the fact that Christians in the Middle East are increasingly being deliberately targeted by Fundamentalist islamist militants [Music] on my 16th birthday my family got a paper uh wrapped in a bullet and dipped in the blood it was written that we need to live in 24 hours otherwise we are going to be killed when I was 24 years old the Isis came to an Innova region and they invaded most of the Christian cities and towns people start to just leave the country and go out Christianity was literally born in the Middle East and we must not forget our Middle Eastern Brothers and Sisters in Christ I want to assure them that they are not forgotten and that they are in our prayers I've also heard that in the doctors there are small Sharps of light I'm not the same father Daniel as I was before I'm fighting for the Church of Iraq to be the salt and the light and these dark times [Music] [Music] orange some see it as a warning a marker of what to avoid but at World Vision we see orange as an invitation to be brave a pathway to a different future a reason to believe that better is possible in a word orange means home to some hope is a cliche an empty slogan a passive wish a broken promise but we are not done with hope yet hope is the thing we're building the threat that pulls us together it's the water in our buckets the fuel that keeps us on the moon orange means help is on the way orange sticks around until communities are back on their feet orange unleashes the hero hidden in all of us because when you are the world's most vulnerable children orange means home for all of us you will have spotted the deliberate mistake there that was not Richard Lennox that was King Charles himself telling us all about his healthight cause that he is launching on Monday which is going to be absolutely fabulous encouraging us all to just make a difference a small difference a big difference whatever difference you can make by helping somebody out it is inspiring to see the impact made in both obviously large causes and also the smaller but equally impactful day-to-day needs um I can just tell you my husband actually has been helping my mum out we were talking earlier about um helping people with the live stream tonight getting people simple things like that so my husband was playing the dutiful son-in-law and got my mum online tonight which is absolutely fabulous little things like that it really is important isn't it and you're a big fan of what the King Charles is is wanting to do with this help out campaign absolutely Claire but I think that goes to the heart of the Christian message which is that Jesus came to serve and not be served and that's exactly The Vow that King Charles took today and it's all about living out your life in service of others and so if you look at the evening we put on today um it's 600 plus volunteers from the broadcast operators the catering staff delivery people people just setting up the hall and of course the all sales Orchestra which is a completely voluntary Christian Orchestra the largest of its kind in Britain and maybe in the world made up entirely of people who give up their time for free to create music to have music Ministry to do musical Outreach and bring joy and hope to people so it's all about volunteers and my goodness haven't we seen volunteerism in action yeah for the glory of God this evening absolutely and it doesn't matter what size of voluntary service you give as long as you help out everybody's doing different jobs here tonight but we couldn't have put this performance on without each and every one of them as you say and and you're a big fan of volunteering you get to you get to volunteer with All Souls as well Maria don't you yes absolutely and All Souls Church Langan place is packed full of volunteers at adults Souls we have this deep love and belief that every single person on this planet is valuable and created in God's image and we have also serve the city which is a charity and part of that is Aslan looking after the homeless people on our streets and also Tamar which looks after women that have been exploited and trafficked in forced to work and also then we have promptres for schools which is something that All Souls Orchestra are so passionate about that invites children to come and sing at the Royal Albert Hall and to experience the the gospel message and to learn more about the Bible so prompt prayers for schools is amazing and all of this including the live stream today Claire of course wouldn't be possible without the huge amount of support from donors supporters I mean it's just incredible to think about the people that have supported the Outreach events of the All Souls Orchestra in so many different ways we'll hear more from you both very shortly about the second half of the coronation prom is just about to kick off on stage with exciting pieces from even more special guests and joining the orchestra on stage will be soprano Joanne land so let's take a look at what she's got prepared for us in the second half [Music] well at the second half of the coronation prom we've got uh the wonderful Chan Lund joining us very beautiful pieces of music the first of which is by Handel and it's called Eternal source of light Divine yes well it was it was written for the birthday of Queen Anne composers such as Handel and Bach were often writing birthday special pieces for people but the first movement has got such beautiful lyrics Eternal source of light Divine shine a luster on this day yeah there's a beautiful Ascent in the tune that just when you sing it so wonderfully you help to paint that picture for us all in our hearts and our minds and you always start with the words this is an instrumentalist you've just got the shoe whereas I've got words as well so the composer's gone these are lovely words I feel that if I put these to some music that would add something to them and then I come along and I go wow that there and those words and that music really I'm going to take them and they mean that to me and I'm going to use these colors or a more straight note or I'm gonna Blossom on that I'm going to Crescendo I'm going to take and then the listener takes their own it's layers and layers like an onion isn't it first I'm working with Michael Swiffer loving it [Music] just when there's a mass of people and glorious music rising up I get goosebumps just thinking about it Huawei I love how excited Joanne Lan is I'm sure that's the feeling echoed by all our performers tonight but doesn't she put that across well honestly any minute now Michael will be walking back out onto the stage to kick off our second half and anando it's yet another spectacular half of uh wonderful Talent out there absolutely I mean as if things can get any better but we're taking it up another notch the first half was very much focusing on Coronation anthems based on temporal power but now of course it's coronation music based on Divine par on the King of Kings the Lord of lords and so we're going to have um Lou fellingham and Noel Robinson performing they'll be singing we seek your kingdom here and then of course star soprano Joanne Lund who's no stranger to the all cells Orchestra and a great favorite with audiences and she's going to be singing uh a piece by Handel Eternal source of light Divine with that famous line double warmth by beams Supply talking about the fact that light is the great gift that God has given us Candlelight his intimate sunlight which is glorious but then of course pointing to Jesus who is the source of all light light of the world and then of course she sings two great hymns by the greatest hymn writers that England has ever produced Isaac watts and um John Wesley and they are love divine and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross so an incredible uh treat ahead of us in the second half and then of course Rico Tice giving a sermon on the spiritual significance of Coronation a park show and we'll get to hear from you Maria um at the very end this evening but uh so much to look forward to honestly and Micah is now walking out onto the stage for the second half of the coronation prom we sit back now and watch it as it commences with the opening piece Symphony Number Three organ finale thank you thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] all right foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] laughs [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] ladies and gentlemen Richard Lennox on the All Souls on the Royal Albert Hall organ [Applause] [Music] for the sins [Music] these days [Music] [Music] it is [Music] thank you Jesus [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] ladies and gentlemen the coronation well we've just heard the word sung let all the world in every corner sing my God and King and of course the reality is that in many countries around the world people are unable to sing they're unable to sing praise to their God and it's a cause close to his majesty the king's heart the persecuted church around the world and so I'd like to share with you now a video from one more of our generous sponsors that's helped to make this evening's coronation prom a possibility and the live stream for all of you watching at home it's the work of open doors UK and Ireland it began in 1965 when brother Andrew started a smuggle Bibles into communist Eastern Europe and since then it's grown to support Christians in countries 70 countries around the world providing emergency relief and Trauma care and helping people to be able to live out their faith freely so let's watch this video now from open doors it seems to me that we cannot ignore the fact that Christians in the Middle East are increasingly being deliberately targeted by Fundamentalist islamist militants [Music] on my 16th birthday my family got paper uh wrapped in a bullet and dipped in the blood [Music] when I was 24 years old the Isis came to Nineveh region and they invaded most of the Christian cities and towns I'm fighting for the Church of Iraq to be the salt and the light and these dark times [Music] well ladies and gentlemen the theme of this coronation weekend that the King has shared with us is three things Community faith and service and of course he began that coronation ceremony as we shared earlier on by saying I come to serve and not to be served and of course right here in this room all of you are leaders in all sorts of many different places whether it's in schools or hospitals in the home in the workplace wherever it is and so I'm going to welcome now um two very special guests Noel Robinson and Lou fellingham and they're going to sing to us a wonderful prayer for all those who govern for all those who lead for all those who serve in so many ways and it's really a prayer for our new king and queen but it's also a prayer for all in government everyone who leads everyone who serves in the example of the king of kings so ladies and Gentlemen please welcome to the the Royal Albert Hall stage Lou fellingham and Noel Robinson [Applause] [Music] seek your king Dom [Music] he longed [Music] Jesus [Music] your teeth [Music] before all things in him all things were made [Music] inspiring culture media entry [Music] science foreign [Music] in the Public Square the fields [Music] entrance [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] forgive us [Music] [Music] again [Music] Transformer [Music] [Applause] everything baby [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] change [Music] new fellingham and Noel Robinson ladies and gentlemen well in a moment's time we're going to welcome Rico Tice to the Royal Albert Hall stage who's going to share with us a coronation pause for Thought um he's going to unpack some of the service some of the symbolism that we saw earlier on um so we'll be looking forward to that shortly but before then it's a real Delight to welcome a long-term friend of the All Souls Orchestra to sing Eternal source of light Divine it's a piece from the birthday Ode to Queen Anne written by Handel in 1711 and in fact Queen Anne seemed to enjoy it enough that she gave Handler a pension for life so we can thank we can thank Queen Anne for sponsoring the art so brilliantly that gave us the likes of zadop the priest and the Hallelujah Chorus but this piece that Joanna Lund is going to sing to us is brilliant it talks about the double warmth that the beams of light from our father give to us our heavenly father it's both the light that he places in the sky Sunshine Candlelight Fire Light but also Jesus Christ the light of the world so ladies and Gentlemen please welcome Joanne Lund [Applause] and I have forgotten to mention our wonderful Trumpeter Mr Giles Fowler ladies and gentlemen [Laughter] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] please [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I was born [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] with this [Music] [Applause] [Music] ladies and gentlemen and Joanna thank you now I know what you've all been thinking you're wondering who's in that box up there with the Welsh flag on a day that's a British day and of course you won't be surprised when I tell you it's Michael Andrews granny Sylvia and his parents Katrina and Steven so let's give them a wave and Michael I'm going to leave this hat here for you to give to your granny and um thank you very much for producing him um he's a wonderful chap we love Michael just as we come to today I wonder if it occurred to you as you watch the coronation how much are the crown jewels on display worth did that occur to you as you were watching I mean how much is the kit worth so if you turned up with the two crowns the scepter and the orb on say the antique roadshow what would you be offered before being handcuffed and led away well you may be interested to know that I've done a little bit of research and here is a rough estimate of the value of today's coronation regalia which is coming up on the screen here so first there's some Edwards crown which is so heavy it's only worn for the crowning have we got it up there no not gone up there yet it's made of solid gold contains 444 precious stones is 30 centimeters tall and weighs over two kilos and its estimated value ladies and gentlemen is 500 million pounds the Imperial State Crown was worn at the end of the ceremony and in the procession it weighs half as much but contains 2868 diamonds and it's worth an eye-watering 400 million pounds The Sovereign scepter holds the world's most famous largest and most expensive diamond the Colin or diamond discovered in South Africa in 1905 and worth an estimated 350 000 350 million pounds and then lastly we have the ore ladies and gentlemen uh when I say we have the orb we really do have the orb so uh it's coming now I wonder if you can see it over there we managed to find someone on the Irish guards who could bring it so we just intercepted it on the way back to the Tower of London although it is only worth a disappointing 50 million pounds the orb but at least it's here [Applause] thank you so much and go well as you're arrested well I'm sure you've already done the maths that is a total of 1.3 billion pounds and yet having been crowned having received the all percept of the crown and the rod the king then receives the Bible upon which he is made his oath and is told whilst wearing regalia ladies and gentlemen worth 1.3 billion pounds he is told receive this book the most valuable thing that this world affords here is wisdom this is the Royal law these are the Lively Oracles of God he's wearing 1.3 billion and he's told this I don't know if you've got those little marks gospels that have been produced for the day but this is the most valuable thing the world affords now what is the message to the king and the world as that is said surely we are being told ladies and gentlemen the Bible is priceless it is priceless imagine holding both crowns the scepter and the orb in one hand and this little Mark's gospel in the other and the insistence here is that this is more valuable Mark's gospel this little part of the Bible than all those jewels anything that the king or queen wore today and yet you've got it in your hand and it can be read at any time now why that's the question isn't it why would the coronation service state that so clearly so explicitly the clue is in the words the Lively Oracles of God the word Lively is an old-fashioned word for living so the Bible is priceless because ladies and gentlemen it gives life and all the power wealth and status of the crown jewels can't give life but this gospel even this little part of the Bible as it tells the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ ourselves our world about the future and how we get there gives life and ladies and gentlemen God is not hiding so many people think God is hiding he's not hiding he's here wanting to communicate with us as he walks off the pages of scripture and Longs for relationship with those that he has made I don't know who here was given a Gideon Bible at school or perhaps you've been given on the street I mean hands off if that's the case maybe you received a little Gideon Bible interestingly the words that The Gideons use from the coronation are there at the introduction of all their New Testaments there they are those words the Lively Oracles of God the most precious thing the world affords and they insist The Gideons whatever you're feeling whatever you're feeling this evening as we're here I don't know perhaps bereaved or bitter broken-hearted desperate doubting far from God feeling hurt guilty intimidated lonely needing guidance needing peace praying resentful stressed thankful weary whatever this book will give you we're told Priceless wisdom I love what The Gideons promise and their introduction to each one of their little New Testaments this book has the power not only to inform but also to reform and transform lives through it countless people have been given new strength and unerring purpose and a sure hope in life it has brought blessing to millions in every land and age and you have it in your hand so it's Priceless yet it's also free to access and it's there to read you can open it whenever you want and of course the gospel isn't so much about a philosophy ladies and gentlemen but you know this but gospel is about a person the Bible is about a person the Lord Jesus Christ as he walks off the pages of scripture and brings life the orb of gold with the cross on top symbolizes the Dominion of the Cross of Christ where Jesus died over the whole world and it's held in the king's right hand and ultimately the Bible gives life because it speaks of the one who has given his life for you it speaks of the one who gave his life for you so what was the crown Jesus was wearing as he died on the cross it was the crown of thorns as he died in our place for our sin to earn us God's forgiveness and the promise ladies and gentlemen of eternal life indeed of a day of reunion with loved ones if we've trusted in what Christ has done as he died on Good Friday and Rose on Easter day so Jesus was arrested he was humiliated he suffers and dies and as he gives his life for ours the orb tells us that even King Charles III in all his regalia is a sinner like you and I who cannot pay for his sin himself when it comes to the day of judgment but needs the Lord Jesus to die for his sin so that he can be forgiven and have eternal life ladies and gentlemen as I close could it be that Jesus died for you personally and could that be perhaps the most precious piece of information you could ever receive in your life that Jesus died for you personally so on this Coronation Day these symbols that are at the heart of today's service surely ask us two questions perhaps you could discuss them with a friend you came here with tonight one by one the first question is this what are you going to do with the Bible the most valuable thing that the world affords ah the crown jewels they've been locked away until they're needed again for the next coronation but wonderfully the Bible marks gospel that you're given tonight is freely available for you to read it and God isn't hiding he's longing to meet you and secondly what are you going to do with the cross which sits on top of the orb and could it be ladies and gentlemen that Jesus died for you [Applause] thank you [Music] risk ers [Music] to Lord Jesus Christ would walk off the pages of this book that you have caused to be written and we pray that you would open our eyes to what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross please help each one of us to understand what it means that the son of man did not come to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many amen welcome back [Music] thank you [Music] foreign foreign place to have a day it's so funny like having been here like you know as a little toddler like sat at the foot of the heart and then watching them and now I'm like on the other side and it's just yeah it's been really cool you are literally being like I can feel the rainbow oh amazing amazing what was it like for you tonight yeah it's great um played here quite a few times with All Souls but always really special and great to be with new people in the orchestra and an old friend from about 35 years I've been with the orchestra and people have been there right from the beginning as well so yeah fantastic evening it seems like you guys are like a family yes definitely is we're definitely a family we all stay in touch we all meet up regularly as well not just um you know at the concerts but um [Music] well as things sadly draw to an end here this evening it's nice to know that there is a lot coming up later in the year lots to look forward to but right now I am looking forward to chatting to This Magnificent lot the artists and performers from the coronation prom you drive Applause here if they have any energy left Michael Michael [Music] can I just say what a job how amazing was that tonight yeah it well it's it's uh it's great you say that it is really an honor to conduct so many amazing musicians and not just their musical skills and gifts and the choirs but it's their hearts they just love playing together they love praising God and so it was just a thrill it's always a delight and an honor just to conduct them so yeah really absolutely and Lou this was your seat last year it's so different was it time there tonight I have to say that the seat's looking a lot more glamorous this year um up with you in it oh I don't know but but no I I thoroughly enjoyed singing today it was really fun to be able to step on the stage and be able to join with everybody and worship and we get the best views don't we absolutely it is a great privilege doing this job for sure incredible and Brian we just loved hearing you tonight what did you make of it all down there oh well I've never been in the Royal Albert Hall before so even coming in for sound check is a bit of an overwhelming experience I mean the the the round the voices the orc yeah I'm a bit overwhelmed will you come back oh sure yes please oh my goodness and Joanne we saw in your VT just how excited you were to be working with Michael and it came across there on the stage it was such a beautiful performance honestly you look like you're having fun I certainly was thank you very much yeah beautiful music with Brothers and Sisters in Christ being able to praise and worship God it's just as nothing more joyful than that really is there yeah exactly and how does this venue compare to to other places that you've performed and they're all also kind of like designed nowadays with Acoustics in mind and here is just kind of like all enveloping people people up to the almost to the to the heavens you know and then right there in front of you oh it's great to sing in here it's really good fun and it's such a treat because I was at college and having lessons looking up here so it was always a bit like oh the Albert Hall and uh wow wow to be here it is a pinch me moment isn't it when you perform somewhere like this absolutely and Jan is this your first time in the Royal Albert Hall absolutely yeah yeah yeah I I like the atmosphere here and the audience there I've never seen or heard an audience like this they are it's amazing when they sing together I've never ever never heard it anywhere else and I've been in some big churches for performances so I like I like working with Michael a lot I like the contrasts in the program because that's very important this was very interesting program and um yeah a very good performance but we're very glad you were here to perform it absolutely and we can bring in Noel as well come on in come on in we must forget no squeeze up everybody give them a ride to Applause he missed the first one uh Enrico as well are you going to come in and join us why not give Rico around Applause everybody yay so good we'll we'll let you get settled while I I um chat a little bit more to Michael let's talk about the audience I mean you all seem to really feed off the audience they're a special lot aren't they yeah absolutely I mean the first time I ever conducted here was last year just after covid so hearing 5 000 voices then was just incredible but I think tonight what was wonderful was it was such a mixed audience it was people from all around the world clearly people who'd been in London celebrating the coronation during the day and had come in and so it was yeah just I mean as Jan said always a joy just to hear thousands of people singing so wonderfully God's praise yeah just exceptional and as you say they've all been celebrating on the on the mile and around Westminster Abbey today this wonderful historic day the coronation of King Charles and queen cavilla and for the celebrations to continue it's made it extra special it was all was going to be special here tonight but it's made it extra special yeah that's I mean that was our intention was we wanted to give people a great party on Coronation Day and and for people to gather I mean I know that people watching this live stream are gathered in churches I got one message from someone who was watching this in their hospital bed so it's just wonderful that people were able to join us online as well this evening so I hope you were able to get a little taste of what it's like being here today it's just been wonderful so thank you all for tuning online brilliant thank you so you just don't realize I think sometimes how much you touch people and where you're reaching out to different people around the world thank you so much Michael Rico can we give Rico there you are sorry can we get Rico and microphone Rico that was special I think that really hit home what you said there tonight I please were you with the response well my high point was watching Yan sing the national anthem great effort if I made a day really good well done it's a great advert for anti-brexit I thought it was great I look it's it I I think I've just been staggered as I've looked at the service just how profoundly Christian it is I mean you know the the Bible is called the most valuable thing the world affords the the cross is on top of the orb to say that Jesus ultimately will inherit the earth it belongs to him and either come to him at the cross or kneel before him on Judgment day but it's his world now I think the coronation service says those things very very profoundly and having obviously never been around for a coronation um it was just amazing to see it and think this is the Heritage we've got and actually we've got to hold on to it so it was lovely tonight to just have a little part of trying to underline what the the sort of fathers as they put that service together over the centuries and put in the regalia were wanting us to believe and understand so it's been very moving actually to see it and tell me the orb the orb was it was it the real one [Laughter] we just thought we had to try and do something it was Michael's idea actually wasn't it Michael not to say it was the real or but yeah it was Michael it was your granny's Welsh flag that really struck me there I mean brilliant thank you so much everybody well don't forget that this evening's entire performance will be available to watch On Demand on the All Souls music YouTube channel so you can relive tonight as many times as you want and as Rico said if you want to find out more about some of what was mentioned earlier today in the coronation ceremony or if you're looking for some of the big answers you can head over to the christianityexplored.org website well let's hear it once again for our conductor Michael Andrews and our coronation prom special guests Yahoo [Applause] and of course let us not forget our wonderful Experts of all things coronation I was delighted to have them beside me tonight experts on the royal family and music Maria Merchant and anando Mukherjee where are they please welcome them back to the studio anando and Maria welcome welcome come on in this familiar territory to you now and of course our Runners around this very large venue they have had their goodies on all night as we would say in Northern Ireland Paul carenza and Sandra Godly you two must be exhausted [Laughter] oh brilliant well look thank you so much for everything you have done and of course a huge thank you to all those who have volunteered to put together this event and those who have donated to make this evening possible you're all absolutely wonderful and of course a big thank you to World Vision and open doors who have played a major part in making this event happen but Michael to close us off what is your biggest takeaway from this whole event well I I think Rico said it earlier on but that that that moment at the beginning of the service where King Charles said I come to serve and not to be served and of course that comes from Matthew's gospel where it goes on to say and to be a ransom for many Jesus is the ultimate King and it's wonderful that we you know we want leaders in our world to trust in him and to show his love to the world it's Jesus's love that transforms us all so that we can grow as a body of Christ I think that's our prayer is that people would come to know the servant King King King Jesus but it's it's been a wonderful party here we've had a wonderful time so much wonderful music and it's it's been just such a joy to see all of us together serving the King of Kings this evening and absolutely yeah yeah nobody could have said it better thank you so much and enjoy the celebrations after we come off air tonight well from all of us here at the Royal Albert Hall coronation prom thank you for very much for watching and joining us at home as we celebrated together the coronation of our creator the King of Kings who is overall thank you so much for watching and a very good night to you foreign
