The Book of Daniel - The Great Tribulation

[Music] so last week covered the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy Daniel chapter 9 verses 24 through 27 the most important piece of end times Bible prophecy in the entire Bible it is the missing link it is the missing puzzle piece because if you have if you take all of what the Bible has to say about the end times if you take every other part of the Book of Daniel you take the book of Joel you take the book of Zechariah you take the Book of Jeremiah you take Ezekiel and you take Revelation and you add it all together but if you leave Daniel chapter 9 verses 24 through 27 out you have a very incomplete picture and we would know a lot of cool stuff but not with certainty like we do and so in that passage of Scripture we saw that 69 or 483 years of the 490 years prophecy have been fulfilled that when Jesus was declared the Messiah by Israel on Palm Sunday March 632 ad God pushed the pause button on this prophecy and there's been a massive gap of time the church age lots of Gentiles getting saved but there is one week left or one seven year period of time left we call this the seven-year Great Tribulation Period and so we talked about that we spoke about it in the text last week and as I was praying this week you know I started to study for Daniel chapter 10 but then I was like you know I I think as we've been talking about eschatology I've mentioned the seven-year tribulation period but I think it deserves just a whole study for us to focus on the seven-year Great Tribulation Period it's also known in the Bible as the day of the Lord it's also known as Jacob's time of trouble it's also known as Daniels seventieth week I want to show you on the screen a quick chronology of these seven years just to get it in your face right up front so you have a good feel for what's going to happen so if you can show this on the screen please the chronology of the seven-year tribulation in five points okay number one the tribulation begins the moment the Antichrist signs a peace treaty that brings peace to the Middle East and to the world remember from last week that the tribulation doesn't necessarily begin just because the church is raptured but we do believe that the tribulation will not begin until the church is raptured but the actual day that the seven-year tribulation begins when God pushes play on that pause button that's been paused for 2,000 years it will be when the Antichrist makes and brings world peace this asurs in the revived Roman Empire and the one-world government assisted the one-world religious system and the reign of the ten kings as we've studied secondly there will be three and a half years of false peace on the earth everyone's like kumbaya look at this this is awesome did you know ever since the world crucified the Prince of Peace this planet has not endured one year of peace there has always been someone fighting every single year since we crucified the one who could bring peace but the Antichrist that's why people will love him so much he will bring a false security thirdly right in the middle of the seven years three and a half years in is the abomination of desolation where the Antichrist goes to Jerusalem goes to the Temple Mount and declares that he alone is God 0.4 there will then be three and a half years of war and death to everyone who refuses to worship the Antichrist his new system will be based on the mark of the beast and God begins to pour out a lot of Wrath on the earth at this time such as the world has never seen before and then fifthly the end of the seven year Tribulation is marked by the second coming of Jesus Christ the Battle of Armageddon where he destroys the Antichrist in the world system I'm getting a little bit of feedback up here in my mic thanks guys so Revelation chapter 6 this is what you need to know before we get into it this is an overview this whole chapter is an overview of the entire seven year tribulation period and I want you to know there are some scholars who disagree with this view there are some people who you you can't escape the fact that the raptures in the Bible you know if you're a Bible believing Christian the rapture is there but there are great wonderful Christians who believe that the rapture will take place maybe in the middle of the seven-year tribulation some also think that the rapture will happen at the end of the seven year tribulation I disagree cover each Apple doctrine disagrees and you know I want to point you to some commentaries to my favorite in times eschatological writer by far is a man named John Walford John Walvoord wal v/o ord his commentaries on the Book of Daniel and the book of Revelation are my favorite Barnhouse is good there's a lot of great ones but Walford is amazing and this is John Wall Verde's view of chapter six being an overview of the seven-year tribulation period and I believe it's right on so what I want to do is just explain the context of what's happening in the book of Revelation before we get into chapter six cuz it's gonna make a lot more sense if you're with me say I'm with you okay good you're listening in chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation if you have red letters in your Bible you'll see it's all Jesus dealing with and speaking to his church he's speaking to the church in Revelation chapter 4 verse 1 the church disappears John hears a voice he sees a window in heaven and the voice says come up here and he's transported into heaven and this is where I believe the rapture of the church fits in the book of Revelation in Revelation chapters 4 and 5 we see the church gather together worshipping Jesus if you if you want to know what happens the moment you get to heaven read chapters 4 and 5 because we are like playing harps all of a sudden we have like skill with instruments I mean some people here do you I don't I'm excited to be a musician in heaven that sounds fantastic to me I don't even have to practice to get good at scenes either we're worshiping we're worshiping and then all of a sudden in chapter 5 there is a scroll that has seven seals so imagine a big giant scroll and as you roll it up you you seal it with wax and you roll it up a little again and you seal it again and you roll it up and there's seven seals so so you have to crack the first one open to read and then eventually you get to a second seal and you crack it open and and this scroll is there and no one is worthy to open it except Jesus Christ the Lamb who was slain and in this scroll is a lot of things the title deed to the earth remember when Adam and Eve sinned they gave the keys of the car to Satan Jesus gonna take those keys back it's the title deed to the earth it is God's guilty verdict towards the earth and it's punishment for sin there's a lot in this scroll and I want you to look at Revelation chapter five and and read with me verses 9 and 10 it's talking about the people who are there watching this and it says they sang a new song saying you are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals for you were slain and you have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation and have made us kings you'll be a king in heaven and a priest to our God and we shall reign on the earth and so who's singing worshiping who is this group of people in Revelation chapters 4 and 5 well it they are believers from every tribe every tongue and every nation it is us the raptured Church so in chapters 4 & 5 we see what's happening in heaven during the seven-year Great Tribulation Period Jesus tucks us away with himself for seven years do you know why because in ancient Israel when a man and a woman would come together for the first time they would be in an extended room to the father's house sounds weird I know you didn't get to go off to Venice or whatever you'd be like Oh next door to mom and dad but this was the picture it was an extended room and the man and the woman would be by themselves unseen by everyone else for seven days for seven years we are honeymooning with Jesus getting to know him being with him tucked away in the father's house in heaven for seven years okay chapter 6 everyone say chapter 6 this reveals what's going down on the earth during the seven-year tribulation period chapter 6 is what is known as a parenthetical chapter it covers the entire seven-year tribulation period from beginning to its end it's kind of like a movie preview you know once you get into chapter 8 all the way through chapter 19 there's little details of what's happening in the tribulation lots and lots and lots of details but before that God's like I want to give you the preview it's like a really bad movie preview that gives you too much information like the the last Avengers in-game preview I love the first one they release where it showed Tony Stark like wandering in space you're like oh my gosh is he gonna die in space is it is he gonna die from the wound like what's happening and I made the mistake I made the mistake a week before the movie came out I watched another preview and if show Tony not in the spaceship but he's on earth and I'm like oh he survived it's like too much I hate I can't say that I have friends who they refuse to watch movie previews and I I think I I see why now chapter 6 is like a movie preview chapter 7 or sorry chapter 6 also goes in logical order it is a timeline of events in the Tribulation Period it will give us the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that you see in so many post-apocalyptic Hollywood movies and they always reference and quote it wrongly that's okay they don't know the Bible we do in this chapter Jesus breaks six of the seven Scrolls and he shows us what happens to the world when it unanimously rejects God and embraces a man called the Antichrist we ready we're you cover this in child chapter let's read verses 1 and 2 now I saw when the lamb opened one of the seals and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder come and see so Jesus simply breaks the seal verse two I looked and behold a white horse every one say white horse he who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to him and he went out conquering and to conquer the question is who is this man riding on a white horse well flip over to Revelation chapter 19 just for a second Revelation chapter 19 and in verse 11 it says now I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse and he who sat on him was called faithful and true and in righteousness he judges and makes war his eyes were like a flame of fire on his head were many crowns he had a name written that no one knew except himself who is this man in Revelation 19 anyone this is Jesus Christ coming back at the Battle of Armageddon but as you go back to chapter 6 you need to know the writer on the white horse in chapter 6 is not Jesus this is a copycat this is a wannabe this is the Antichrist remember anti in Greek does not mean opposed to it means in place of Antichrist means in place of Christ he's coming to say I'm the guy you need not not him and he comes with all the authority and power of Satan himself notice in verse two the Antichrist has a bow but he does not have any arrows the Antichrist will be able to conquer the world without using force or military power even though he has a strong bow he will have a strong army under his control probably a year a unified European army is a good chance that it'll be that nothing about it at the rapture of the church people disappear everyone who believes in Jesus is just gone remember it says two people will be working in the field and all of a sudden want to look up and the other person's gone that's what Jesus said there will be disaster there will be chaos hopefully what if there's a Christian pilot there's a bunch of passengers and he's gone people driving on the road I mean there's gonna be accidents it's gonna bring chaos Hollywood is just priming the earth with all these crazy scenario type of movies of aliens and everything people are gonna people are gonna come up with some excuse you know all we see how evolution works the Christians were the ones that just they're they're losers man they're gone like we need to evolve now I don't know they're gonna come up with all sorts of answers and and ultimately the Antichrist will be the one empowered by Satan to be able to unify the world bring the world back together bring world peace he will be a world hero like there's never been before in verse 2 it says he has a crown on now there are different Greek words for different kinds of crowns this word in the greek is stefanos and this is the crown that the Greek Olympians would wear and it's a wreath it's a wreath with with branches which means that Withers which means it's temporary and this Joker's crown is not gonna last it does say he's a conqueror but not by means of war he conquers through false peace Daniel chapter 9 verse 27 he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week Daniel chapter 8 verse 23 a king shall arise having fierce features who understands sinister schemes 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 9 the coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power signs and lying wonders so in this first judgment of God towards the earth it's as if God is saying so you really really want to refuse me the Living God and my son Jesus Christ ok have it your way here is the ultimate leader and the ultimate king you have always desired you will not crucify this man you will almost worship this man and this first seal reveals the Antichrist the world's choice for a king and it covers the first three and a half years of the tribulation and this is a part of God's wrath you see the beginning of God's wrath is to give somebody over like he did to Pharoah like II did do others - to confirm someone in their own position of rebellion God takes away the Holy Spirit he takes away conviction and he says you know what you've crossed the line and my protection is withheld I'm giving you over and the wrath of God begins in this way look at verses 3 and 4 when he opened the second seal I heard the second living creature saying come and see another horse fiery red say redhorse it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth and that people should kill one another and there was given to him a great sword so we had the white horse now we have a red horse red is the color of blood red in the Bible oftentimes represents war and it says right here in the text people are killing one another this red horse is given authority to take peace from the earth so after three and a half years of a false sense of peace the abomination of desolation takes place where the Antichrist claims that he alone is God so you Hindus you can't do what you're doing you Buddhist you can't get you you you you you you worship Me or you die so we would put that event the abomination of desolation right in between sil one and sil two right in between the right horse and the red horse this red horse symbolizing war is the result of people refusing to worship the antichrist the rider is given a sword which is a weapon which means now the Antichrist unleashes his army again maybe if the rapture is going to happen soon it's setting up where it could be a unified European army so after the abomination of desolation people start dying and then the Jews the believing Jews flee to a place called Petra if you know of Petra raise your hand you know where Petra is in order it's in Jordan Petra is this amazing rock fortress ancient city built by a really unique sect of Muslims I think in around the 600 or 700 eighties it's along this amazing trade route like you're walking on the trade route and you look to these pile of rocks if you've ever been to like Zion National Park is something like that and you just see a rock formation you'd never know there's a huge city Wow woven in between the rocks I was able to visit a couple years ago and I was it was breathtaking you know yeah it was just I was like a little kid hiking around there you know it was so cool which Indiana Jones movie is it in is it Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom so the Temple of Doom is petra isn't one of the Transformers movies you know it's been around it's pretty awesome let me show you what the word says jesus said in matthew chapter 24 verses 15 through 19 he said therefore when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the Holy Place and then he said and then you know Matthew says if you're reading this pay attention let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house and let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes don't even stop to go grab your chonies your favorite shirt your favorite don't just go you know why because in Zechariah it says two thirds of the Jews will be killed but one third of them will be preserved as a remnant this remnant flees to Petra Revelation chapter 12 verse 6 says then the woman the woman in chapter 12 is Israel the woman fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared by God do you know that Christians are trying to like stalk this place with food and water and everything for all these Jews that are gonna make their way there that they should feed her there 1260 days or in other words three and a half years the second three and a half years of the tribulation and then in Isaiah chapter 16 verse 4 it says let my outcasts dwell with you O Moab be a shelter to them from the face of the spoiler Petra located southeast of Jerusalem across the Dead Sea again it's in the nation of Jordan the ancient Moabite Kingdom that's where Petra lies so when Isaiah wrote it it was Moab today we'd call it Jordan it's fast to an end times prophecy Jordan is never the bad guy ancient Jordan were the ammonites the capital of Jordan now is among right Amman from the ammonites ancient sect of people that have remained right there and nowhere in in times prophecy is Jordan the bad guy because they house the Jews so God is you know there's all these other Muslim nations but your Jordans the only Muslim nation I've ever been to and it was it was it was quite peaceful you know different from some of the other nations I guess now the Bible is pretty clear that the second three and a half years of the tribulation are gonna be just full of the outpouring of God's wrath manifested outwardly there's gonna be war there's gonna be judgment this is what Jesus said in in Matthew chapter 24 verses 21 and 22 for then there will be Great Tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time no nor shall ever be and unless those days were shortened no flesh would be saved but for the elects sake those days will be shortened God shortens the days by causing the earth to rotate faster on its access we're told in the book of Revelation that the days and nights are sped up by a third and it seems like it's caused by something hitting the earth a meteor or something as something hits the earth in the book of Revelation and it causes the earth to spin it seems and so he says I got it I got a shorten this because it's gonna be so stinking crazy I got it I got a speed time up during during this process also the Prophet Jeremiah said in Jeremiah chapter 30 verse 7 alas for that day is great so that none is like it and it is the time of Jacob's trouble what did God change the patriarch jacob's name to come on my six-year-old can answer this what did God change Jacob's name to Israel thank you guys but Israel shall be saved preserved during this time so death the red horse crazy you still following say I'm still tracking okay verses five and six we move on when he opened the third seal I heard the third living creature say come and see so I looked and behold everyone say black horse and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand and I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creature saying a quart of wheat for a Denarius three quarts of barley for a Denarius and do not harm the oil and the wine black represents famine famine is always a famine always follows war always and you study this historically and you'll see famine always comes after war now he breaks down some you know courts Daenerys says let me let me explain this to you a quart of wheat is enough to make one meal for one person a Denarius is one day's wage one day's wage gets you one meal now three quarts of barley equals three meals but wheat is more tasty it's better than barley so basically one day's worth of work only gets you a loaf of bread food will be unavailable food will be extremely hard to come by and and why well because in Revelation chapter 13 verses 16 and 17 we're told that the world's food system will now be based on the mark of the beast the only way you have access to food without sneaking around hunting fishing whatever whatever you can do to find food the only way you can get food is based on the mark of the beast at that time to give in and say yes to the Antichrist and then lastly it says don't harm the oil and the wine and you got to understand oil and wine were very very very very luxurious items very hard to come by very expensive in John's day you know the these two things were very very very expensive so it's just showing that food is gonna be unavailable it's gonna be really really hard to get people are gonna be super super stingy and greedy about it moving on verses 7 and 8 when he opened the fourth seal I heard the voice the sorry I'm gonna start that over cuz I I think I said hoarse whatever that means okay when he opened the fourth seal I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying come and see so I looked and behold a Pelorus everyone say green horse it's a pale horse green horse and the name of him who sat on it was death and Hades followed with him and power was given to them over a fourth of the earth to kill with sword with hunger with death and by the beasts of the earth the word Pell in the Greek the Greek word here is chloros it's where we get the word chlorophyll green green in other words green is the color of sickness and disease have you ever been so sick your skin turned green vision okay it's happened to me once in my life and it involved Copenhagen chewing tobacco and easy my best sport was baseball and in the Rocky Mountains where I grew up chewing tobacco was a huge part of baseball culture and especially on my baseball team so I have not chewed a day since I stopped playing baseball but I had to learn it and these dudes were like Copenhagen is like no skull you little we introduced Kol here you gotta do Copenhagen this is how we do it I learned how to you know just now everything so my first time I didn't want anyone to see it's like okay this stuff smells gnarly I'm probably 14 probably 40 oh yeah I was yeah 14 years old so I remember how I got some got this thing smelling I'm like okay I'm gonna take a dip I don't even know how much put in so I put it in and I mean vomiting is gross anyways you know it's never a fun experience but if you've ever vomited from chew it is otherworldly it is otherworldly you know what I'm talking about right it is there's something about it and I'm ralphing all I don't I feel like awful like it's worse than a hangover to me and I look in the mirror and I am 14 years old about green I just remember seeing my face green and I felt so so terrible anyways this horse kills 1/4 of the people on the planet 1/4 of the people on the planet know we got a step back let's think about this think about the math here there's 8 billion people on the planet right now let's say 25% get gets raptured that that's being generous I think - ok but let's say we're being generous 25% of the earth gets raptured that would be 2 billion people so that leaves six billion or more people left behind here it says one-fourth of them die in a span of three and a half years that would mean around 1.5 billion people or more people die around this time it will be the greatest time of death ever the plagues don't compare at all with any of this there will be dead bodies literally everywhere on the planet too many bodies to clean up I mean it would take a focused worldwide effort to clean up the bodies so the stench of death is just rotting the earth at this time it's awful and verse 8 if you look at verse a it reveals four ways that people die during this judgment four ways that people die number one they die from sword which means war and so the Red Horse who is against all who oppose the to Christ some will be according to Revelation chapter 20 beheaded the second way people die is through hunger because of famine starvation because of the black horse the third way people die the word just says death but this is represented by a pale green sickly colored horse AIDS STDs who knows whether other diseases will be unleashed on the earth at that time and then fourthly this is really interesting the fourth way that people die is from beasts beasts and as I read this it seems like all the animals on earth lose their fear of man and completely turn on mankind remember Romans chapter 8 the creation groans the creation is waiting for God to come back and so if you have pets that you are very attached to and you love and you are scared of them being left behind don't worry they will be fighting for God I'm kind of kidding the beasts will turn against man crazy a really good description of the tribulation kind of in concise a nutshell form is found in Isaiah chapter 13 verses 6 through 13 says well for the day of the Lord is at hand it will come as destruction from the Almighty therefore all hems will be limp every man's heart will melt and they will be afraid pangs and sorrows will take hold of them they will be in pain as a woman in childbirth remember Jesus used this verbage - they will be amazed at one another their faces will be like flames behold the day of the Lord comes cruel with both wrath and fierce anger to lay the land desolate and he will destroy its sinners from it for the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light the Sun will be darkened and it's going forth and the moon will not cause its light to shine I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity I will halt the arrogance of the proud and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible I will make a more immortal more rare than fine gold therefore I will shake the heavens and the earth will move out of her place in the wrath of the Lord of hosts and in the day of his fierce anger gnarly right the only reason why God is doing this you see this is wrath this is not just judgment this isn't a little corrective spanking a little discipline this is wrath the last time God poured out his wrath towards a human being was at the cross of Christ God wanted to pour all of his wrath there but for those who refused Jesus Christ the wrath will be poured out and we who believe will be gone and you know there's a lot of other details that I'm not gonna really talk about that you could fit in here during the seven-year tribulation I mean you find the seven trumpet judgments you find the seven bull judgements fit in in this last seven years and there's other details you know the hundred forty-four thousand Jews fit somewhere and the two witnesses of Revelation eleven there's so many details but in getting back to the text remember one-fourth of the world is dead the Antichrist is on a tear to kill any Christian or anyone who refuses to worship Him and then all of a sudden God says timeout and he shows us a picture of what's happening in heaven while all of this terror and chaos is happening look at verse 9 verse 9 says when he opened the fifth seal I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God God and for the testimony which they held friends the greatest revival in world history may take place immediately after the rapture because if you're sitting here listening to a preacher coming to church listening to the Word of God and all of a sudden you wake up one day and every Christian you know is gone and disappeared you're gonna realize you're just gonna realize a whole lot right and you're gonna be freaked out into the kingdom of heaven and you're gonna you're gonna come and devote yourself you know what I mean like there's a lot of people who've heard about Jesus people are people are gonna connect the dots Christians are gone did you know that there's some people that make DVDs for like their family members and they're like if if I'm God this sounds crazy you might think I'm a crazy person but if one day I disappear on all Christians watch this just we'll just keep this please if you love me we're family just if you don't blitt just put it in your nightstick put it somewhere put it somewhere where you remember and watch it you know it's people who actually do those kinds of things and so of course I mean if it was any one of us we're not gonna worship the Antichrist we're gonna get right with God and we're not gonna take the mark of the be you know those kinds of things so these souls who begin to appear before God in heaven at the altar are believers who either starve to death or were captured by the antichrists army and were killed and notice there's two reasons why they were killed this is important two reasons number one they're killed because of the Word of God and number two they're killed for their testimony these are two things that Satan absolutely hates that are in your life it's what he's terrified of and it is what defeats and destroys him the Word of God and your testimony of you verbally saying I believe in Jesus Christ and follow him and I am not ashamed about it he changed my life he forgave me of my sins you got something out I mean he set the bar hi you got something better than that cuz no one else died in rows for me right you set the bar high these two things are what you and I will also be persecuted for as well the Word of God and there is power in verbally communicating Jesus Christ when you do that it is in the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit into that person's life you walk away from the conversation but the Holy Spirit doesn't look at verse 10 it says they cried with a loud voice saying how long O Lord holy and true until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth what do they have to say to God the first moment they see him avenge our blood that's the first word that comes out of their mouth because something terrible has just happened to them avenge us do something about this God you know the Romans invented crucifixion invented brutal ways of torturing people the people who died at the killing fields were brutally tortured Hitler was a nasty torturer I've been to two concentration camps and I've seen some of the ways he tortured people vicious vicious I mean III was just lost in in tears in this moment I was in I was in Belgium and the torture room there was a loop like a hook up at the top of the ceiling where they'd swing a rope over and they would tie the person's arms behind their back and and they they hang them suspend them in the air to make their arms come out of socket you know so they'd hang them backwards but that was an all beneath them were two sword blades they left it the sword blade everything was still there you know the way that the troops found it they just they left it so they would dangle them from the air and then they dropped them down on the two sword blades and so the person's legs would be all they couldn't walk nor could they crawl because their arms are out of socket they were dragged back to their beds to suffer awful brutal but the pain the torture the Antichrist inflicts will probably be the worst most satanic evil awful form of torture ever and it could be our family members and friends can you imagine what I just described happened to someone you love you got a little cousin a little nephew niece you see those little ones you got a grandpa grandma who's about to pass and their time is running out we need to speak the gospel of Jesus Christ that's why we are here my friends why don't we just go to heaven right after we get saved because we got a mission to do we got a job to do the kingdom of heaven is advancing and God is wanting to put us on the front lines as we go to Starbucks as we go to our grocery stores as you go to your bank and you talk to the little o sweet lady as you go in your community ad gospel intentionality you are missing out on living I am missing out on living when I don't walk as a true Christian not not like being annoying not preaching on the corners but loving people adding a little bit of salt here and there making known I'm I love Jesus it's a it's a simple thing to the bank teller is it instead of saying the bye say God bless you jesus loves you you get in your car you feel good about that right it's like hey I just told someone about Jesus and that was kind of easy I think I could do that again right tell them some of you mean you need to talk to someone today so it does God putting someone in your heart God wants people to hear about Jesus sometimes it takes people five 10 20 times of hearing Jesus before it finally clicks so just keep sowing that seed it's not like a pistol it's like a shotgun you just kind of problem and then that you just the seed goes out and sometimes it misses and time's it hits and when it hits it feels good it feels good when you when you leave someone to Jesus it's it's it's it's like you're almost getting saved all over again you're so Punk you're so thrilled I mean you know angels are rejoicing and there's a party going on in your heart it's amazing just to say man jesus loves you you might not feel loved but he loves you you know he knows your pain he's your cure he'll never leave you he'll never look down on you we sing this morning his mercy is more his mercy is more than your sin his mercy is more than whatever rebellion you think he got the Word of God and the word of our testimony amen okay verse 11 says then a white robe was given to each of them and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who would be killed as they were was completed you know verse 9 says they were just Souls when they appeared at the altar but here in verse 11 God clothes them with the garments of salvation I think it it will probably be their glorified body they will be joining us in that condition and and remember Daniel also spoke and mentioned this same group of people back in in Daniel chapter 7 the persecuted Saints who missed the rapture but get saved during the rapture and are murdered for their faith okay verses 12 through 14 we're moving on we wouldn't say move on okay verse 12 I looked when he opened the sixth seal and behold there was a great earthquake the Sun became black as sackcloth of hair the moon became like blood and the stars of heaven fell to the earth as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up and every mountain and island was moved out of its place can you imagine I mean have you ever looked under the stars I just spend a couple days up at Mammoth Mountain and yeah there's no city around you see the Stars and have you ever got lost in the expanse of it all it's just so huge all that space out there and God says he's just gonna take it like a little scroll and just like roll it up it's gone and people are watching it this that the skies recede like a scroll and you know the Old Testament speaks of these things as well let me show you Isaiah chapter 34 verse 4 says all the hosts of heaven those our stars shall be dissolved and the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll all their hosts shall fall down as the leaf falls from the vine and as fruit falling from a fig tree did you know that astronomers have discovered recently that they they really really believe the universe is although it's it's laid out very long it's it's actually thin which fits this scroll that if it's actually like this it's a very thin but it is very very spread out over a long ways and God's hand is just gonna take it and be like Boop it's gone Psalm 97 verses 4 & 6 his lightnings light the world the earth sees and trembles the mountains melt like wax before the presence of the Lord and the presence of the lord of the whole earth the heavens declare his righteousness and all the people see his glory you know what happens when the bright hot heat of the intensity of the presence of God when he shows up when Jesus shows up to the earth mountains melt like wax no wonder God told Moses you can't see me fully and live if a mountain wouldn't wax at my presence Moses what do you think is gonna happen to you bro he's the God who melts and softens hard things hard hearts amen he melted this hard black heart man he melted it he softened it and praise God he's doing the same with you verses 15 and 16 tells us the kings of the earth the great men the rich men the commanders the mighty men every slave in every free man hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of his wrath has come and who is able to stand they see Jesus coming this is the second coming where all of a sudden now at the end of the seven years and they see him and they're hiding from him and I wonder it's like is it quick like did the heavens just does it happen like in a moment and all of a sudden they see the throne or is it like a lengthen coming like on the news one day will you be well not we but will they be watching the news and be like you know what from a far distance away in outer space there's a little tiny white bright light and it's it's getting bigger and it's coming closer to the earth and like will it will Jesus be all dramatic and like come that way or will it just be all of a sudden I don't know do they actually see the throne of God when God removes the the heavens that are in between Earth and and his throne because it says the heavens have just been pulled back and then again verse 17 read this for the great day of his wrath has come and who is able to stand when the wrath of God comes who is able to stand that's a good question that's a question I want to ask your heart who is able to stand before God who is able to stand who is it it's a good question first Corinthians chapter 15 verse 1 says I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you which you also received and in which you stand receiving the gospel causes you to stand Psalm 130 verses three and four if you Lord should mark iniquities O Lord who could stand but there is forgiveness with you that you may be feared the Lord's mercy and forgiveness causes us to stand amen Romans chapter 11 verse 20 because of unbelief they were broken off but you stand by faith if you got faith in God if you've received the message of the Cross and the resurrection and if you appeal to God not because of the good works you have done but you appeal to him based on his mercy then you my friends are the ones who stand can we give God a big amen amen yeah awesome so Revelation chapter 6 a chronological overview a movie preview of the entire seven-year period of time now again when you get into Revelation chapter 7 God begins to reveal all the details of what happens within the seven years so again this breakdown point one the seven years begins when the Antichrist makes the peace treaty when he signs the dotted line the tribulation begins point two there will be three and a half years of false peace on the earth God giving people over to their choice for a king in the middle of the seven years we find the abomination of desolation where the Antichrist claims that he is the sovereign god of the universe that's followed by three and a half years of war death chaos crazy things that's never happened on planet Earth before and it culminates at the second coming of Jesus Christ where he destroys the Antichrist and the world system and ushers and fulfills our prayer may your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven you know the total fulfillment of that prayer those prayers my bowel the saints over the ages is fulfilled pretty great as the band comes to worship one last thing to cover as they're coming I would encourage you because the church is going to be delivered from the day of the Lord first Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 9 God did not appoint us to wrath but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ 1st Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 10 wait for his son from heaven whom he raised from the dead even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come we're told to wait so as we close and as we pray as we take communion as we worship let's let's make sure to concentrate hard to do it in a posture of 100% confidence in Jesus Christ and that 100% faith and trust and belief just causes a rest when you're trusting in Jesus you don't fret you don't freak you don't worry no matter what the situations tell you no matter what you're looking at on a piece of paper doesn't matter resting abiding in Christ a posture of waiting on the Lord you know how many times God says to wait on him so let's wait with expectation let's wait with faith knowing we are his loved children man God loves you you know I I don't hear people telling me God loves me enough maybe I hope I tell you guys God loves you enough he loves you he loves you the father you have a father in heaven who if you got any triggers about your earthly father don't worry you have a Heavenly Father he loves you Jesus Christ your brother your Savior loves you [Music] you
