The Book of Daniel - Chronology of Eschatological Events (Part 1)

[Music] well I am like most Americans who absolutely am into the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe and all these movies that they've put together starting in what 2008 with the first Ironman and it's pretty credible to see how like what over 20 movies have all come together in this singular narrative and I have my favorites you might have your favorite it's probably my top three would be oh I don't know maybe guardians of the galaxy one that was dope flora ragnerok was fantastic third I don't know maybe Avengers infinity war that was pretty good I'm in Empire Strikes Back kind of guy so that wouldn't make sense for me to like but here's the thing when it comes to all these movies I've had conversations and it's like yeah like this movie is good and no I didn't really care for that one but it seems like no one knows where the movies fit with each other because it's supposed to be this timeline it's supposed to be this chronology and I'll talk to some people and it's like what you've seen that one but you haven't seen that one like oh that's so dumb like why don't you follow him in order like you totally don't even know what this is about because you haven't seen this one yet and just the other day I was trying to like where it is I don't need I don't remember it remember where Black Panther fits I'm like I don't know I don't know the timeline and then some like extra nerdy guy was like oh I know I know we're all 20 of them are there you there's it's like well this goes after this and you don't argue with these people when it comes to Marvel because they know they know and you just you take it and you know with all that having been said I think in time events are kind of like that where as you're learning the Bible and if you've sat under Calvary Chapel ministry anywhere for a long time you've heard about the end times you've heard teachings about the second coming and they're the rapture and things like that but maybe you sit there and you're like I have no idea where all of these events fit and if you try to do it yourself it's it's kind of like twisting the whole giant pretzel up in your mind right and the book of daniel shares a lot of in time events and we've studied those but Daniel doesn't even lay them out in a timeline you know it's all over the place so what I wanted to do for you is lay out all of these endtime events point by point as they happen in a timeline from the first one to the very very last one and so the whole chronology of endtime events in 18 points between today and next Sunday we're gonna get through 18 points so you guys ready for that does it sound good the word eschatos the word simply means last eschatology means the study of last things or the study of the end times and we're gonna begin our main text to launch this all office found in Daniel chapter 9 for the seventy weeks of Daniel prophecy contained in verses 24 through 27 this is the most important puzzle piece when it comes to figuring out and studying endtime events I do believe it is the most important little chunk of Scripture because if if you were to keep everything else the bible has to say about the end times but if you were to remove this little section the the painting would definitely be incomplete you'd be able to talk about a whole bunch of things but this section of scripture brings in so much certainty and so many details for us it really really completes the picture to where we can talk so confidently about these things and so read with me Daniel chapter 9 verses 24 through 27 this prophecy God speaks to Daniel and says seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city to finish the transgression to make an end of sins to make reconciliation for iniquity to bring in everlasting righteousness to seal up vision and prophecy see and to anoint the most holy now we did cover this in detail when we were plowing through the Book of Daniel so I'm gonna spare you that but as a quick reminder seventy weeks or in the Hebrew it's 70 Shu buas in the Greek it's a hep dad it means a period of seven years seventy sevens are determined for your people Daniel the Jews this does not involve Gentiles at all seventy times seven is 490 years here's a prophecy for the Jewish people that will take place for 490 years verse 25 know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the command to restore and build jerusalem until messiah the prince there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks the street shall be built again and the wall even in trouble sometimes and after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off but not for himself so right here we're told that the the beginning point for when this prophecy begins is whenever the command is given to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem that's when the prophecy will begin and he's saying 69 of the seventy weeks of time will be fulfilled between when that command is given and until the Messiah comes to be cut off and like it says he was cut off but not for himself he was crucified not for himself but for the sins of the whole world amen verse 26 again after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off but not for himself and the people of the prince who was to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary the end of it shall be with a flood until the end of the war desolations are determined this speaks of the Romans coming and destroying the city of Jerusalem verse 27 then he the Antichrist shall confirm a covenant with many for one week or for one Shuba for one last seven-year period of time he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering and on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate even until the consummation which is determinists on the desolate very very important passage of Scripture this is the launching point for everything dealing with eschatology so having read this we transition to point number one point number one in our chronology is this Nehemiah is commanded to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in the year 445 BC you can read this if you want it's found in Nehemiah chapter 2 in verses 1 through 8 the Bible tells us the exact year the exact month of when Nehemiah was commanded by the King to go to Jerusalem to begin rebuilding the walls of the city and so this gets the ball rolling when it comes to this chronology of endtime events and all the way from Nehemiah's command to the first coming of Jesus to when he is crucified for the world the first 69 weeks of this prophecy are fulfilled or 483 of the 490 years of the prophecy are fulfilled leaving one seven-year period of time left and they're still right now is one seven-year period of time left no wonder Jesus was weeping in front of the Pharisees and the people on Palm Sunday saying you should have known the day of your visitation if you would have been studying the scriptures you would have known that Nehemiah and Daniel prophesied about this and if you would have counted from the day Nehemiah was commanded to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem you would have counted a hundred and seventy three thousand eight hundred and eighty Days on the Babylonian Jewish calendar and it would have brought you right to April 6th 32 ad and Palm Sunday one week later Jesus was crucified everyone say point to the second point to our chronology is when Jesus Institute's his church and he postpones the 70th week of Daniel for the Jews Jesus instituted his church in Acts chapter 2 at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came out the church age began and a very very different time than what it was like in the Old Testament now less than 30 years after Jesus instituted the church the Romans came and completely annihilated the city of Jerusalem annihilated and tore down the Temple in Jerusalem and the Israelites they lost their land for the second time they lost their nation now what's interesting is that when Jerusalem was destroyed the temple and everything inside of it was completely burned up which meant all of the writings inside the temple were burned up all of the genealogies which was a very big deal to the Jews were burned up all of the genealogies were burned up which means this after 70 AD if anyone were to come on the scene claiming they are Messiah claiming they are the one that God prophesied about not one of them could prove it because they have no genealogy record we have two of Jesus's genealogies recorded and kept for us in the scriptures both at the beginning of two of the Gospels one going back all the way to Adam one genealogy going all the way back to Noah and it's like no any one any other Jew that were to come they can't prove it there's no genealogies left I've always thought that was interesting so at that point the Jews are scattered they lose their nation for the second time the Muslims bill the Dome of the rock there in Jerusalem eventually and you know still to this day Arab kids are taught in their schools Israel never existed even in their Maps as they learn history as uu as they're learning it'll always say Palestine and they're taught that the Israelites never occupied that land there was no Israel that they're just kind of a bunch of bad guys who now all of a sudden in these times want to come and invade all this land it's really interesting and so in 70 AD the Jews entered into a very dark time for one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight years ever want to say point three the third point to our chronology is that Israel became a nation again in 1948 and this is significant because there is no end times without in Israel there is no end times without the Jewish people occupying the Jewish state and having a government because most of end times prophecies revolves around the nation of Israel so in 1948 Bible scholars started to get real excited because there wasn't much teaching about in times prophecy because there wasn't a nation of Israel yet but ever since then men there's been a whole lot of talk and a whole lot of Bible study concerning the end times and rightly so and it was interesting I mean at the most unlikely time I mean when the Jews were just devastated right after the Holocaust right after six million Jews were were just murdered and tried to wipe off the face of the planet at the most unlikely time in 1948 after the Holocaust God shows incredible mercy and he brings his people back into Israel and if you've studied history if you've studied about the war of 1948 it's it's miraculous I mean there is no logical explanations for why Israel won that war and became a nation it was only the Providence and the sovereign hand of God but it was prophesied about in Isaiah chapter 60 six and verse eight it says who had heard such a thing who has seen such things shall the earth be made to give birth in one day or shall a nation be born at once and if you listen to people talk about that season of time that was involved that they say it was like we became a nation almost in just a day it happened just overnight and it was just this very fast crazy thing that God did in Ezekiel chapter 26 verse 24 God said I will take you from among the nation's gather you out of all countries and bring you into your own land and since 1948 that's exactly what we've seen God do bringing the Jewish people back to their rightful land every one say point number four the fourth point are these biblical signs that assure us we are living in the end times so sign what are the signs what does the Bible say about the signs of being in the end times would you turn to Matthew chapter 24 and we're gonna let Jesus teach this to us Matthew chapter 24 also this is the point that we are living at currently so on my chronology which is 18 points long we are at point number 4 4 of 18 which means there's a lot still left to be done according to the Bible Matthew 24 and 25 is called the Olivet discourse it's the second longest recorded sermon of Jesus in the Bible and it is his own teaching about the end times and we want to start in verse 3 because I want you to notice what the disciples question for Jesus is verse 3 Matthew 24 now as he sat on the Mount of Olives the disciples came to him privately saying tell us when will these things be what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age so Jesus proceeds to answer these questions what will be the sign of your coming what are the signs of the end of the age okay so he replies verse four Jesus answers and says to them take heed that no one deceives you for many will come in my name saying I am the Christ and will deceive many now there's been so many people who've come as false Christ's I mean that the list goes on and on you think of the crazy ones like the David Koresh's and then you even get you know the former President of Iran president uh how do you say his name I'm a mana did a mana Jeanette jawed you know I'm talking about I'm mocking at dinner whatever it was interesting one time he was speaking at the UN about ten years ago and he starts prophesying about this Muslim Savior the Mahdi that would enter the world through cataclysmic events in that he would bring world peace to the planet for seven years and it's just like what it was so weird and demonic and you know you think of the name Jesus Christ portrayed by some people but they're Colts because they're not worshiping God in spirit and in truth and he said false Christ would come false saviors would come don't be deceived by these false Gospels by these false prophets and teachers verse six another sign Jesus says is that you will hear of wars and rumors of wars see that you are not troubled for all these things must come to pass but the end is not yet you think of the world wars that we've had there's always tension there's always friction somewhere around the world Isis seems to be at war with the entire world Israel will have more Wars it's it's not a matter of if it's just a matter of when it seems like we're always doing something you were always technically at war as well and so that's just Jesus said there's gonna be a lot of war in the end times verse seven he says nation will rise against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom and there will be famines pestilences and earthquakes in various places he says Kingdom will rise up against Kingdom and I think you know this not only means like physical wars between armies but I think this speaks of religious kingdoms not just political kingdoms but religious kingdoms will rise up against one another and the the kingdom of God is being attacked I mean a lot of people would say were the fundamentalist Christians but what we really are is we are the strongest most lost longest lasting force for good on the planet and we have been for the last 2,000 years and no matter what they try to do with us and to us the church is gonna keep going strong because it belongs to Jesus and it's just a trip man that there's this war against us and there you know the extreme jihadists they they are definitely a spiritual Kingdom that is just against everything and Jesus said you're gonna see more of this Jesus also mentioned the rise of famines diseases and earthquakes think about that he's like right before I come there will be a lot more of these and you think of famines did you know that one-third of our planet is starving for how technologically advanced we become and for how many great efforts there are to feed people a child still dies every single breath you take from starvation from starvation because there are wicked governments that are and there's just crazy political things happening and people are literally starving still Jesus said that would happen he also mentions pestilences or diseases man these are spreading at a rapid rate did you know that 23 over 23 million in Africa alone have the HIV virus the next great prediction of where AIDS is going to spread and it's it's coming into fruition they just don't want to talk about is United's in the United States four-year university campuses this was predicted about ten years ago the next major outbreak of the HIV virus would be you know 18 to 22 year olds who go to college and are taught that they come from monkeys and their life doesn't really mean anything and here's some free rubbers and just whatever free love free sex and and it's just spreading like crazy young people contracting these diseases and Jesus said man disease would be rampant in the end times he also talks about earthquakes 46 of the 68 most deadliest earthquakes happened just in the last century and we've had many more I don't know where the the more modern statistics are just from the last 20 years but you think of the tsunamis and Jesus said all this is it's gonna happen more we're just gonna happen more and the earth is groaning and shaking knowing the Redeemer is coming soon and the more the Earth recognizes Jesus is coming back we're gonna see the earth rumbling and shaking and you know plates rubbing against each other and all this crazy stuff man because Romans 8 says the world is groaning out for its Messiah for its Savior and in verse 8 Jesus said all these are the beginning of Sorrows like a what like birth pangs it's just the beginning and I don't know but ladies if you've had children you know the birth pangs they they come when they come they don't stop and they just get more intense and it happens more quickly and that's exactly what we're seeing on the world stage right now but if you notice in verse 9 there's a shift in Jesus's teaching in verse 9 Jesus says then and then marks a shift then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you and will be hated by all nations for my name's sake and so the word then represents a shift there's a change now Jesus begins to talk about what happens in the seven-year tribulation period and when he says the word u he's talking to the Jews he's speaking about the Jews so we'll stop right there in the teacher because we just wanted to look at the signs so Jesus was asked what are the signs and he's like here it is Wars nations just it's gonna be nuts you know countries against countries and earthquakes diseases famines he's like you'll know it's the time is coming so that's one way we know that we're in the end times the Bible tells us there's many more signs though there's many more things to look out and so would you turn with me to Zechariah chapter 12 and the reason why we're flipping here is because the main key to all endtime events is no doubt the nation of Israel it is the key above all other signs and keys the nation of Israel and paying attention to what's happening in Israel always is a place for us to look at when it comes to man is the return of Jesus clothes Zechariah 12 beginning in verses 1 in 2 God says the burden of the word of the Lord against Israel thus says the lord who stretches out the heavens lays the foundation of the earth and forms the spirit of man within him listen verse 2 behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples when they laid siege against judah and jerusalem just look at how that's phrase Jerusalem will be a cup of drunkenness God is saying the world will become drunk with hatred towards Jerusalem and it's like if you pay attention Israel is in the news every single day every single day Israel's going to be mentioned why in the world does anyone care about this tiny tiny little country that hardly even takes up any space on the map all the surrounding countries have all the oil and natural resources it's like why do people care well right here it says the Lord will make people drunk with hatred towards them and that's just what's happening every day they're in the news look at verse 3 God says it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces though all nations of the earth are gathered against it he says I will make Israel a heavy stone a burdensome stone is Israel a burden to the world right now he absolutely I mean the biggest burden I mean the other nations in the Middle East can't stand them in Europe they can't stop talking about Israel and thinking about Israel we can't stop thinking about them it's a burden it just this is what God said will happen Israel become this very important puzzle piece and it'll be this just shaking cup of drunkenness and what's scary to me in verse 3 is it says all nations of the earth will be gathered against it and I'm not a very smart man but all means all and I don't know what that means for the United States but the United States is not the key to end times prophecy Israel is and right here it says you know one day all nations will turn against Israel I don't know when that will be I don't know what that will look like but the more we see the world hating Israel you'll know the end is coming and it's spiritual it's it's spiritual because from Satan's point of view if Satan can get the Land of Israel he can call God a liar when God promised that land to Abraham and his descendants and if Satan can call God a liar in one area he can call him a liar in every area and so he's for some reason after wanting to hold on to this land that God has from the very beginning chosen for his people to dwell in look at verses 4 through 6 it says in that day says the Lord I will strike every horse with confusion its rider with madness I will open my eyes on the house of Judah and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness and the governors of Judah shall say in their heart the inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord of Hosts their God in that day I will make the governors of Judah think of Netanyahu and those guys like a fire pan in the wood pile and like a fiery torch in the sheaves they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in our own place Jerusalem I mean this happened in 1948 this happened in 1967 these surrounding countries trying to annihilate and get rid of Israel and what does God say I'm gonna make Israel like a fire pan like a torch among like like a hot needle in a stack of hay it's gonna be very small and it's gonna be surrounded but it is hot and if you try to come against it you'll get burned you'll get burned and so pray for the Peace of Jerusalem is what we're told we were told through Abraham all who have a heart for you all who bless you I will bless and so our heart we are very pro-israel in this house amen so the nation of Israel is a huge sign to the end times but what one more sign that God told us through his word that we can see right now that tells us oh man we are definitely living in the end times is the decrease in morality the decrease in morality globally is crazy the Apostle Paul said in second Timothy chapter 3 verses 1 through 5 but know that in the last days perilous times will come men will be lovers of themselves lovers of money boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful unholy unloving unforgiving slanderers without self-control brutal despisers of good traitors headstrong haughty lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god having a form of godliness but denying its power if this doesn't define modern-day Southern California right now I don't know what does if you don't see this in your streets and neighborhoods and workplaces right even the last one having a form of godliness yeah I I love Jesus Jesus my homeboy but there's a denial isn't there there's such a denial of who he is and what he claimed to be and so we're living in this time right now living in the last days moving to our next point everyone say 0.5 the next thing that needs to happen is the rapture of the church that's what you and I are waiting for we are in the end times it's very clear it's very obvious we are waiting for the rapture of the church now there are four key verses in the Bible on the rapture of the church there are more than four but there are what I would say four key verses and so I'll just show each of these on the screen to you first thessalonians chapter 4 verses 15 through 17 for this we say to you by the word of the Lord that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep for the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise first then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up everyone say caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and thus we shall always be with the Lord the word caught up there there we go there we go there's their clouds out today maybe I don't know I hope so the word caught up in the Greek translations of the manuscripts is the word harpazo when this word harpazo was translated when they were making latin bibles harpazo is translated into rap tauros and so that's where we get the word rapture comes from this word caught up it means to be snatched away suddenly we who are alive and remain Paul says there will be a generation who does not die and you will be caught up to meet the Lord in the clouds next up in 1st Corinthians 15 Paul is teaching about the resurrection the resurrected body then he drops this dime verse Thessalonians are sorry 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verses 51 through 53 behold I tell you a mystery we shall not all sleep or die but we will all be changed it'll happen in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet for the trumpet will sound the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality now it does say that the dead in Christ will rise first then we who are alive will be taken as well but this all happens in the twinkling of an eye those who are dead in heaven we'll be in the clouds coming with Jesus and they will be given their resurrected bodies first but in the twinkling of an eye we will be caught up and we will join them and we will meet the lord in the clouds it's pretty amazing next up in revelation chapter 4 verse 1 this is a key verse 2 placing when the rapture happens in the book of Revelation it says after these things I looked behold the door standing open in heaven and the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me saying come up here and I will show you things which must take place after this now prior to this in revelation chapter 2 and 3 Jesus is talking to in dealing with his church and the church age all of a sudden John hears the trumpet there's a door he's he goes immediately up to heaven and what do we see happen next in Revelation chapters four and five we see the 24 elders the church from all nation tribe tongue language and we are all together in heaven worshipping Jesus surrounding his throne so the church is taken to heaven and so you'd put the rapture right here in chapter 4 verse 1 and for the next seven years the churches in heaven in Revelation 4 and 5 worshiping our King the last little verse that I would say is a key verse to the rapture comes to us in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 in verses 1 and 2 it says now brethren concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him we ask you not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled either by spirit or by word or by letter as if from us as though the day of Christ had come 2nd Thessalonians is a rescue letter because these people thought that they had missed the rapture and they thought the Emperor Nero was the Antichrist because they were being persecuted so harshly I mean you think you've had it rough as a Christian these people were spiritually born into persecution into gnarlie times and because it was so gnarly and because a false letter had been circulated they thought they'd missed the rapture and this is Paul's way to say you haven't missed the rapture and so the day of Christ he's like don't don't don't be shaken concerning our being gathered to him this speaks of the rapture because of the second coming of Christ we would be coming down to earth with him we won't be gathered to him we will already be with him as other verses tell us so the rapture of the church is the next thing that needs to happen back to our chronology after the rapture of the church everyone say point 6 the believers judgment for rewards is what happens next the church gets raptured in Revelation chapter 4 verse 1 and then we have crowns and white robes in Revelation chapters 4 and 5 so it appears we will be judged and rewarded right after the rapture romans chapter 14 verse 10 says we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ this is talking about believers second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 10 for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive the things done in the body according to what he has done whether good or bad away hold up wait wait a second I'm gonna have to appear before Christ and give an answer for the things according to what I've done whether good or bad interesting cuz it's right here in the Bible and we can't pretend like it's not there I don't know exactly what this all means but I do know that a lot of stuff is gonna be revealed this is called the Baima seat the judge maseeh you you'll be judged you'll be rewarded for what you did but it also says that we're gonna have to kind of go through the bad now we know Jesus died for our sins and we know we're not going to be punished for that but I think 1st Corinthians 3 gives us just a little more insight into this verses 11 through 15 says no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ amen if Jesus Christ is the foundation of your heart your faith your beliefs you are going to heaven you will be perfect in heaven as a child of God but it does say if anyone builds on this foundation it's talking about how you live your life if you build on this foundation with gold silver precious stones or if you build it with wood hay and straw each one's work will become manifest what you have done with your salvation will become manifest what you chose to do with your salvation will be made manifest the day will declare it because it will be revealed by fire and the fire will test each one's work of what sort it is what fire will we have to go through well the only fire I see in the Bible that deals with us as believers going through this process is we are told that the eyes of our risen Savior Jesus Christ are like flames of fire and I think that is the fire we must pass through Jesus I think of all the excuses you and I have made come up with all the excuses were not serving Jesus for not reading the word now we stand before him and the eyes of blazing fire that melts away every lie and seest through every front we will have to stand before his gaze and give an answer to what we did with our salvation the fire will test each one's work of what sort it is if anyone's work which he has built on it endures he himself will receive a reward if your work is burned he will suffer loss but he himself will be saved yet so as through fire everyone who enters this judgment is going to pass through and be saved but when it says in Revelation he's gonna have to wipe every tear from our eyes I wonder if some of those tears he wipes is through part of this process because listen have you ever faced an injustice in your life and God didn't take care of it yet while you are on earth and you still you're walking with Jesus but you're like you know what when that lie was spread around about me or whatever that wasn't and it still kind of eats out you you know that's where the Baima seat comes in that person who wrongfully lied about you if it hasn't been taken care on earth yet I think this is what's gonna happen I don't know this for sure but I think Jesus is gonna say excuse me please come here you lied about this person and look at all that happened and that restoration will be made I think that's what the beim is for and that person you you will finally be like men you know what I've had this pain in my heart since ninth grade or since I was 20 or whatever thank you Jesus for not just letting me pass into eternity without it being telt with thank you for clearing my name huh now that if you also lied against someone Jesus my Leggio say come here I love you you know I love you but that was stupid you know what and it's like vindication justice the Lord making everything right the Lord reconciling and restoring every relationship hey if you got beef with another believer if you got beef with another believer and you decide to disobey the scriptures and not go to that person and talk openly and hash it out until it's all done until everything needs to be forgiven wait till the Baima when we're all looking hey remember this a little beef come here come here you two we're gonna we're gonna work this out and I'm gonna work it out I think that's what's gonna happen at the Baima and and it's like for me it's like you know this is why it says store for yourselves treasures in heaven that's why what'd you do for Jesus matters because that's the gold and the silver material that when it passes through the fire it remains I saw a whole bunch of people here at 7:00 in the morning and you are heaping for yourselves treasures in heaven setting up doing so many things your tithes are treasures in heaven you will be rewarded for on that day and it's like what Pastor Chuck said you know what what's done for Christ will last it's all gonna burn all our possessions all of our earthly you know things that we strive for that we're not of the kingdom those things will burn whether they were sinful or not they're gonna burn and it's like when I you know we're all gonna suffer some loss I mean none of us lived a perfect life but I don't want to be the deed that Jesus is like hey before you pass through the fire here's some goggles and and I'm like standing there at the end and I can barely move because I have like a heap of ashes around me and I I take my goggles off and I'm like raccoon eyes you know and I got all the the ash all over me you know it's like man I want what I do for Jesus to remain don't you what you do for Jesus will remain it matters and it will last I promise you Paul said this in second Timothy chapter four verses seven through eight I have fought the good fight I have finished my race I have kept the faith finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge will give to me on that day and not to me only but also who have loved his appearing if you have a love in your heart for the revealing and appearing of Jesus Christ a crown of righteousness it's promised to you my friend amen you can't wait to see Jesus amen expect that crown of righteousness so the believers judgment for rewards will will take place and it will be a little season of some loss but it will mostly be a good thing as we will be rewarded for what we did for Jesus what was done out of a pure heart what was done out of love for the body of Christ our seventh and final point for this morning I want to say 0.7 next up will be the seven-year tribulation also known as Daniels 70th week Jacobs time of trouble and the day of the Lord now we've studied this before this is just a part of a little chronology so I'm gonna give you this seventh point in four sections and they will all be in chronological order the first section is that remember we will see the rise of the Antichrist a one-world government assistant and a half years of false peace according to Daniel chapter 9 verse 27 he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week and when the Antichrist signs the dotted line to bring a worldwide peace covenant the last seven-year period of time according to Daniels 70th week prophecy that final week will take place during this time second Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 9 says the coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power signs and lying wonders the second section the second thing that takes place in the seven-year tribulation is the abomination of desolation remember this takes place right in the middle of the seven-year tribulation period 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 3 and 4 tells us the day will not come unless the falling away comes first and the man of sin is revealed the son of perdition who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped so that he sits as God in the temple of God showing himself that He is God Daniel chapter 12 verse 11 from the time the daily sacrifice is taken away and the abomination of desolation is set up there shall be 1290 days the next thing that happens in the seven-year tribulation period is that the Jews the believing Jews flee to a place called Petra a rock fortress located southeast of Jerusalem in the country of Jordan jesus said in Matthew 24 verses 15 through 19 therefore when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the Holy Place whoever reads let him understand then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house and let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes in Revelation chapter 12 verse 6 it says then the woman fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared by God that they should feed her there 1260 days and so these believing Jews make it to Petra and then the the last thing that happens in the tribulation is that there will be three and a half more years of God's wrath of war of judgment it's an awful time jesus said in Matthew 24 verses 21 and 22 for then there will be Great Tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time no nor ever shall be and unless those days were shortened no flesh would be saved but for the elects sake for the Jews sake those days will be shortened and you know there's so much more we could fit into this section of talking about what happens during the seven-year tribulation period but we'd be in the study for weeks weeks longer this seven trumpet judgments go here the seven bowl judgments of God go here there's other details the hundred and forty-four thousand Jewish male virgin men fit in here somewhere the two witnesses of Revelation chapter 11 there's a lot that fit in here but you get the gist and we've talked about the seven-year tribulation quite a bit as we went through Daniel so we're gonna stop here for today we've covered seven of the 18 points in our chronology of endtime events let me give you a quick recap of the first seven points we covered for today remember point number one Nehemiah is commanded to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in 445 BC that gets the whole prophecy countdown going secondly Jesus Institute's his church and pushes the pause button on the 70th the final seven-year period of time for the nation of Israel point number three Israel becomes a nation again in 1948 number four there are so many signs that assure us we are living in the last times then next up is the rapture of the church the believers judgment for rewards and the seven-year tribulation next week we will dive right in our next point in the chronology is the second coming of Christ at Armageddon and we'll continue to just go through this chronology so as the band comes forward and as we close today be reminded that you know especially since we're thinking about all this wrath this horrible period of time coming upon the earth be reminded that Jesus has taken the wrath of humanity and he's taken the wrath of God for you and the reason why we will be out of the earth the reason why we will be taken away is because God has not appointed his church unto wrath Jesus has taken it and your faith in Him and your belief in him is what will deliver you from this tribulation period of time that's coming on the earth Jesus has taken everything the world could lash out at him so no matter what you face you know you have a very merciful sympathetic very tender-hearted Savior who knows what pain is like you know the God who allows crazy pain in this world and I don't know why he allows it but this is what I do know the God who allows it did not absolve himself from it the God who allows pain allowed himself to feel it in its fullest most violent most awful forms Jesus's own heart has felt what you felt and more that's what you have in him as a friend as a savior in justice he's dealt with it being light about that's happened to you he's had it happened to him too wrongfully accused abandoned by his closest friends yeah he's been through that every heartache death he's been through it he was tortured by the Romans who invented new ways of inflicting pain upon people and he chose to come in that period of time because he wanted to choose the most gruesome most painful death he could pick to show you and I'd the depth of his love for us he chose the cross he didn't just happen to be nailed to the cross because he came in that time he chose the cross it was the way he wanted to display his love for you and me he was nailed to the cross but he didn't just receive the wrath of man he received the wrath of God the last time God poured out his wrath on this earth was at the cross so that you wouldn't have to endure it to receive punishment for sin you'll never have to receive that you will never be punished for your sins that will not happen to you he experienced separation from God because on the cross he who knew no sin became sin he became a big ball of sin to experience what separation from the father was like and that little bit of time when he was hanging there when the Trinity was dismantled for a brief moment that was the hardest thing for him to be severed from intimacy with his father that made his heart explode literally with pain and he went through all of that for you and for me absorbing your shame absorbing your pain he received the penalty as if though he committed all the crimes so that we today can say thank you that we can open our hearts and say yes Jesus thank you for what you did for me [Music] you [Music]
