The Best Budget Carry Gun Nobody Talks About

right we have the iwi Masada slim on the range today doing first shots pros and cons First Impressions with this new carry gun so this is obviously from iwi and I have never shot an iwi pistol so this will be the first and we're going to talk about the features here and what makes this gun what it is let's start with some of those features so you have an Optics ready gun the footprint will allow you to fit most popular options today we're just going to run it with irons you have the blacked out rear sight White Front dot there so you have good contrast front and rear saturations what's interesting is you don't have a pick rail but they actually did you notice this they take the serrations and they come all the way down on the frame right there which is kind of cool yeah you said something yeah side stopped take down lever right there it actually has a little bit different of a breakdown you slide this through the rear you push this button forward and then that's when you can pull the pin out once you line it up one thing I noticed instantly is the weight of it it's got some decent weight to it so we have well we we're going to do a little bit comparison here too uh but regardless no back straps nothing like that but it's got a really good feel in the hand comes with two 13 round mags great capacity a little bit bigger it's like the shield plus almost or a Glock 43x or something like that as far as the size right I think it's 20.3 ounces unloaded all right so I want to give you an idea where the Masada slim fits in here we got our scale zeroed out there let's check the weight one pound six ounces We compare that to something like Shield Plus which is also empty one pound four ounces Canik mc9 ounces so if it's right in between there as far as weight if we look at the two guns you got the shield Plus on your right and the massage s on your left you can see they are roughly the same length looks like the Masada is actually a little bit wider pretty much all the way around when it comes to the height of the gun keep in mind the shield plus is 10 Rounds the Masada is 13. you'll find a similar story with the Glock 43x it is much thinner all the way around when you look at them as far as the height this is where it becomes really interesting one of the one of the bigger Reasons I'm not a huge fan of the Glock all right if we line those up the best I can there anyways you can see they are just about the same where the Glock is 10 rounds and again Masada is 13. so they give you a longer grip there which is good when you're at the range gives you something really nice to hold on to it's going to be a little bit harder to conceal but if you're comparing this to something like the Glock 43x you get three additional rounds for basically the same size grip although it will be a little bit heavier as well it's got one heck of a trigger too at least dry firing in this thing is really nice I don't know if you have you dry fired that yet a couple of times okay what do you think like it is nice yeah it's got a different feel to it but I like it yeah yeah short reset crisp predictable I imagine it'll do good one thing I'm not super stoked about right off the rip is it's got a u Notch style sight setup so anyways uh we'll see how it does there let's load it up and take first shots right now all right this Tech shot had to run up the road really quick and grab something uh actually she had to grab some Omeprazole because reflux so I'm gonna take first shots right here with the Masada Slim without her don't tell her let's try it out that's not bad man The Recoil impulse is a little sharp for what I was expecting but that's that's not bad at all dude honestly I'm not I don't know if I'm gonna be a huge fan of those sites one thing that I've been trying to do a lot of you guys have pointed out the way we shoot off the reset and and this is a valid point instead of instead of let's say boom shot goes off let the action do its thing Let It cycle bring it to the reset boom shoot off the reset instead of doing that take the shot boom breaks everything happens let it go get it back to the wall and shoot back from the wall again and when I catch myself doing that and consciously doing that it really does make a huge difference so that's a that's a little Pro tip right there nice thank you I've had two plates for the price of one there it's got a sharp recoil impulse to it really interesting because it's got so much weight to it I say so much wages in the world of carry guns it's got some weight to it but man the results kind of speak for themselves there that's pretty freaking good dude this is why I need my second shot because I forgot I don't have a Target cam out there so you didn't get to see those shots trust me they were good here a couple of shots got off right there a little bit but it's got a decent group likes more of a 12 o'clock hold I think [Applause] one thing this gun does have though is that longer grip and I think that makes it a little bit more comfortable to shoot all right foreign slam what do you think it's okay it's okay it's okay can you elaborate like I've said before to me you know I really enjoy the larger size guns just because they're less painful to shoot so I like um the features that it has I don't think the sights are bad the trigger is very nice the grip is very nice again it's just painful to shoot if that's a good way to put it for me yeah see I don't notice a lot of that but one thing I definitely notice is the sharp recoil I've been we've mentioned it several times yeah I don't want to kick a dead horse you know but it does have a sharp recoil and pulse but shooting the cr920 and the shield plus they're small carry guns you know and so we have to keep this in perspective it is built for a specific purpose one thing this gun has going for it that a lot of the guns don't is it does have a longer grip now concealability it's not going to be as good as a 920 or cr920 or maybe even a shield Plus but at least you get decent capacity right compared to like a Glock 43x it's going to be on the heavier side as well and I think all in all they made a really solid concealed carry pistol thin relatively light but in the world of carry guns it's got some weight to it it's just that sharper recore it really kind of threw us threw us off a little bit as far as that man if I had to do this by myself every time this would be a struggle all right let's see this thing is a shooter boys see if we can knock those plates down again foreign not bad let's try a little one-handed shooting well this thing is really impressive tolster I need a holster for this one guys check it out that is a nice pistol dude I'm still not a huge fan of those sights but I just does exactly what you want it to do nice job great capacity great I mean grip and the texturing it feels amazing man this is not a gun that's going to rub your skin raw or anything like that it's got a really good feel to it I would probably end up changing out the sights if this is something that I were to carry although it did a fine job on the Range I'm just I'm not a fan of that you die or just put an optic on it and be done with it all in all man I think they did a nice job will it replace my shield plus no I don't I don't probably not but it's definitely out of all of the carry guns we've done I would say for everything it offers it's definitely probably you know close to like top five maybe even top six I mean you got the shield Plus you have Specter comp you have um think about this you know guns like the Hellcat Pro I think I like this more than the Hellcat Pro I know I like it more in the Glock 43x I like it more than the cr920 as far as you know shootability yeah definitely that one um you know and we've done quite a bit X macro is another nice one but you know I think all in all for what they put together here this is a solid gun so there you go man it's got
