foreign society and I'm here to help you pick out a gun whether you're choosing a gun for yourself or for your spouse or you're buying a gun for your spouse that they're not going to like so you're gonna secretly carry it because you're playing 4D chess in life and I think that's really really awesome I want to help you figure out what is the gun for you and there's all kinds of different variables you have stuff like revolvers or you have stuff like semi-auto pistols yeah big stuff like uh 1911s in 45 or you have tiny little micro-ish guns in 380. now what I want to do is cut through all the noise and reduce everything down to two variables one is what's easy to conceal and then number two what's actually a good gun for defending yourself with if something went down and you had to fight for your life what gun is going to give you the best chance of survivability now this is where the trainer in me warrior post decided we do all kinds of in-person and digital training for stuff so this is where I get on my soap box and say hey it's the Indian not the arrow so let's jump in I've separated on this board compact guns which are far better for fighting so if you if something went down if you have got a dangerous job or you're in dangerous places if you got body mass over that of 125 pound female so it's easier to conceal you don't care as much about printing and you're kind of Hardcore you don't mind being uncomfortable then you can carry a bigger gun these are better for fighting on my left your right is the smaller guns these are the sub compacts or the micro Pistols that are far easier for concealment they're better for Comfort they're not as good for fighting however what I want to steer you toward is the goal isn't to get the tiniest little toy gun that you can shove in a pocket the goal is to get the smallest gun that's comfortable and you'll actually carry but you could still defend yourself and you could still defend your loved ones with it it's big enough for that so it's like small but not too small jump in the comments there guys knock yourself out so as we've said better for caring and concealment and your spouse these are better for actually fighting the reason why is especially if you have a nine millimeter here and a nine millimeter here here you have the same amount of recoil but it's dispersed over a larger surface area which means The Recoil Management's far easier on a bigger gun versus this it's a bigger felt pop that you're going to really have to kind of jump into so it's easier to manage recoil because the barrel is longer it's going to be a more accurate piece also your sight radius is longer which means it's going to be a little bit more accurate the controls are a little farther apart so it's easier to hit your slide stops and your magazine release it's easier to draw it and develop that Master Grip so you're faster with it the round is going uh quicker it is just flat out better for fighting and it's going to have a much better ammo capacity something like a Glock 43 this is a seven rounder whereas this is a 16 rounder and when you look at the size difference you're like okay you yeah ammo capacity that that that's a thing and so picker poison now in this category there's a lot of different guns that I'll say hey that that's pretty good it's not my favorite I do have bias like every other human on the planet and so I've got brands that I like I'd say if you want to get a compact just a good stock Glock 19 would get you done very very well now this one isn't just a stock it's got some stipple job it's got upgraded tritium sights and it's got a gym Tech threaded barrel and I think that's all it's got all the internals don't monkey with the internals on your carry guns guys if you're doing competition stuff after the races do whatever blows your hair back but for carry guns I say don't monkey with internals a stock Glock 19 is fantastic next I'd say a MMP is really really good I wonder if I had started on MMP instead of Glock if I wouldn't be an m p guy I really like the MMP and they also offer a sub compact in a shield and so if you want to get get that I wouldn't say go to The Bodyguard which is their micro gun because micros are just extremely hard to fight with you can carry them well but I don't like micro guns as a general rule you just can't get enough hand on there you can't shoot them fast or accurately they're not very good for that purpose sub compacts are compacts MMP is good to go really like that get the 2.0 by the way everything that you'll see here with the exception of this guy right here and this guy right here or a nine millimeter years ago there was lots of confusion on what the best caliber was there'd be the 45 ACP guys and they claim that if a 45 just came close enough to your head it would just tear it off because of this cone of ballistic hate flying behind that round and it's just not true and I'd add that advances in defensive ammo and nine millimeter the terminal ballistics of a nine millimeter defensive round versus like a 40 or a 45 it's not terribly far apart however with a nine millimeter you can carry a lot more ammo so really nine millimeter has one it's won the debate stockpile one type of ammo not a whole bunch of others that's just my opinion disagree I don't really care what you do do you but this is me just trying to hey that a boy save you some cash uh and point you to the best bang for your buck bang for the buck dad jokes for days it's a classic so I went with it so we got Glock we got m p here's a Sig 320 I just don't really trust cigs I don't like them I think they're over engineered however I do like that sigs 320 joined the 21st century and introduced a striker fire gun I really do like however their Sig 365 which sometimes I'll put on an ankle but I'm getting ahead of myself right now it's the 320. uh Sig won a contract with the military and so they're pumping out their military variant of the Sig 320 A lot of people really really like these guns so if you want a Sig 320 rock on party on but it is a compact gun and it deserves an honorable mention in our go-to not what I carry what I do Carrie or at least what I used to carry on the time is the war poet Shadow systems mr920 this is actually an mr918 it's a little bit older I put the light on it but other than that it kind of comes all done up so if you aren't really proud and don't want to change a bunch of stuff to really get the best of the best I say just go toward a bone stock Glock 19. but if you know you're going to change the trigger and upgrade the sights and you want to put a red dot side on the front and maybe you want a threaded barrel because you're sexy and who knows maybe you do a can or a compensator or something like that if you're going to start monkeying around with something to make it a little bit better you would be far better served to just go ahead and get yourself a war poet because it's already done up like production you'll have to Tinker or mess with anything it's already perfect done done so this is what I carry when I go to like downtown Atlanta or I'm with my family and I feel like hey I'm going to a more dangerous place I want this guy on me also if I have a war belt this is what's on it as well so mr920 uh the war poet version some other honorable mentions guns that people like uh czs and FNS Walthers and I don't have any of those guns so I don't really have much to say about them Canik I don't like I think kanik's a good gun for the money however the Tang on Mechanic right here is so wide I can't actually clear this thumb knuckle around it and so I can't really get that good Master Grip so where I'd look at a Canik and say hey that's really good gun for some people I personally it's a no-go and lastly I'd mentioned the CZ p10c a gun I really like if you are in your 20s you have a Thin Mustache and you really like craft beer that's the gun for you because it's kind of like The Unofficial hipster gun fight me in the comments all right now we're moving to the sub compacts now if you're a gal you're going to be in this Camp because you don't want to see feel fat and you don't want to be uncomfortable and if you're just kind of spending your days in an office environment or you're not really going anywhere that's super Shady you're hedging your bets of like I don't think anything's going to go down but I definitely want to be ready to protect because that's what warrior poets are sacred protectors and so we want to be able to defend life and so hey I'm going to carry something now I'll start off with the gold standard I used to go to and that was the Glock 43. now this was years ago when I would have said this if you want to get it even smaller you can get a flush fit magazine I used to carry it on an ankle sometimes or tuck it in the appendix in my waistband my wife carried this gun for a very long time the Glock 43 it is much thinner than say a Glock 26 or a Glock 19 so it's far more comfortable to be able to carry the Glock 43 comes with a six round magazine plus one in the pipe it was The Limited ammo capacity that really drove me away from the 43. and I really do like the Glock 43x and the Glock 4 48 so if you want to go that you have more ammo capacity but it is it's kind of the same length as this pistol grip for the Glock 19. but both of us now are at the war poet Shadow system cr920 this is the gun I carry maybe as much as 90 percent of the time now now when you compare this with a Glock 43 you'll notice it's really just about the exact same size the the pistol grip right here because of this extended one is a little bit longer on the 43 the width on the war poet is just a tiny bit more but really it's the same class however this is six rounds in the magazine and this is 10 plus one in the pipe in fact the extended magazine I could have 14 rounds holy cow that's really really good it is big enough that I can fight with it I can get almost my whole hand on there and it's all jazzed up it's got the Red Dot which I care a lot about and if you're brand new to guns and you don't have a lot of training you'll probably hate that red dot but this is my favorite gun it's what I carry it's what my wife carries and it is amazing it is more expensive than some of these others so let's leave this uh behind and look into some of the more introductory guns because again you can't buy your way in to being a better Defender you got to actually put in the work Indian not the arrow I like this though because it's a really really good ERA here's something extremely inexpensive I just bought two of these in a gun shop recently and this is the Taurus g2c they have an S which is a little bit smaller which is their subcompact this is technically in the compact but if you sized it next to some of this other stuff you'd be like oh yeah I mean that's a good bit smaller than a compact and so it's kind of this weird mutt that you could really place in either category I'm going to place it over here I like this gun because it's extremely inexpensive it was probably in the mid 300s I can put my whole hand on it it's got some tacky stipple kind of grips right here this chambered in a nine millimeter like all the rest that I've done so so far add some limited test of this gun and for the value for the amount you spent on it it shot pretty darn well but I don't have years and years of experience I really just did that one test I maybe shot it a few other times so I don't have a long time of proving that this is some awesome gun but it impressed me enough to say hey for a few hundred bucks that was all right gun now unlike any of the others so far this one has an external safety on it so let's pause and talk about safeties because folks who don't really know about carrying guns they always want that external safety because hey safety is good you don't want just going off in your purse or your pants or your pocket or something else like that but I'd go ahead and say hey what you need to know about semi-auto guns is these guns are always meant to be married with a holster these guns should never be Bachelors they're married to a form fit Kydex holster like this one all right so this holsters by uh tier one I'll have a link down below for you guys I like tier one holsters I like T-Rex holsters I like some other holsters this is an appendix fit and this one is for the Sig 365. now listen for this nice click in place and now the gun isn't coming out and the trigger guard is protected what you want in a gun is it safe and ready for the moment you just grab and press the trigger and shoot what you don't want to do when you're fighting for your life in milliseconds count to be able to pull this gun and have to worry about actuating an external safety I want to be able to draw it and immediately put it into action I will do another video later on where you should carry on your body and what kind of holsters a three o'clock appendix four o'clock or shoulder holsters or off body carry I want to do a holster video you really need to do some learning about holsters what to get and where you should carry on your body or off body and the pros and cons of that difference you got to do a little bit of learning I'm going to walk through it with you every step of the way and give you some good knowledge so you can arrive at something that's a good idea for you now before I jump in and tackle some of these other guns I want a little rant on things I don't like to hear at gun shops I hear this all the time of like I want you to hold this and see what feels best for you see how that feels and fits your hand I don't like this advice because almost every time I see this whole event go down the person holding the gun is holding it incorrectly I want to immediately switch this master grip shift the support hand up adjust the tensions and somebody who could be holding a gun and saying I don't like the way that feels I changed their grip and they say oh that feels wonderful check right here how it feels in your hand is a little bit helpful but it's not very helpful this is why if you want Comfort go buy a cardigan sweater but if you want to be able to shoot well it is very possible that something doesn't feel good in your hand but you can rock and roll with it on the Range what I care about is can you shoot it fast and accurate can you carry it concealed how's your drawstroke all that stuff I care about the biomechanics I care about the science all that stuff is very important so where you thought how it fit in your hand was this important it's actually just this important now I was just playing with this gun over here this is the Sig 365. now I left the Glock 43 and for a while I would carry the Sig 365. the reason why is it's about the same size as the the Glock 43 however this was a 10 rounder plus one 11 rounds right here and you look it's about the same size as the 43 it's actually a little bit shorter on the barrel and the handle is a little shorter and it looks about the same width maybe just a tiny bit fatter but holy cow how did you mysteriously get more rounds into a smaller pistol grip the answer was is they went to metal mags so you could make the walls and the mag thinner so it's like a one and a Half Stack rather than a single stack and so that's how they did that Wizardry but I like the Sig 365 generally good reliability after they fixed some problems right out of the gate with the first generation wave that came out by the way never buy a new Sig let them get out there they do their user testing on the market then they get the Kinks out so don't buy a used cig ever buy a new cig that has been around a little while so they could get the Kinks out because this sig 365 worked really well I like this gun a lot but I didn't like the ones that first came out because there were some issues with them same with the 320. they're having drop safety issues not okay I think they've got it ironed out and now it's it's pretty trustworthy-ish gun uh depending on who you ask now I want to go into the revolver and then I want a little diet tribe on micro guns and then we'll I'll let you go you can move on with life liberty and the pursuit of happiness but I want some honorable mentions for guns that aren't here the Springfield Hellcat I don't have one uh but I like that gun as well and an m p Shield 2.0 this is the MMP as we had mentioned the compact The Shield is really good I like that I wouldn't get the lower variant in The Bodyguard that shifts us away from subcompacts and into the mouse gun area now the surface area is smaller on the tinier guns that's why a lot of times instead of having a nine millimeter nine millimeter on this size of a gun it's just going to have a whole bunch of recoil problems because this is not a lot of surface area so they'll oftentimes just downgrade them from a nine millimeter round to a short nine or a 380. that's a nine millimeter diameter bullet however less powder so it has less kick knowing that you're not able to get as much hand on this gun so the terminal ballistics of a 380 or a short nine is not nearly as good as a nine millimeter round it's not going fast fast enough and so I really don't like 380s in general furthermore if you look at the dimensions that just length of that Barrel that's not a lot of length there which means your round's not going to be going as fast it's not going to have as much time to build up pressure in the barrel and stabilize you don't have the sight radius to be very accurate so they're not very accurate they're not very powerful and they're also tiny so that the controls are really close and I feel like just digging them out of pockets and purses as you're trying to get this thing ready to go the chances of you having a negligent or accidental discharge go way up so I find them not as safe either but it's cute in the gun shop when they buy and then they get on the Range and they're like pop and they can't hit anything and it kind of Tears their hand off and as soon as they start shooting something that they can get more grip on they're like oh I like that much better and so what you feel is going to be a good purchase in a gun shop doesn't necessarily translate into real life you want something that you can actually get a handle on you can shoot it well it doesn't tear your hand off or hurt it and it's small enough that you can carry it comfortably you can conceal it's not hurting you it's not printing so that people know that you're concealed carrying and that's why subcompact or compact's the way to go now last thing I haven't really talked about is revolvers and that's because I don't really like revolvers very much however they do have their place now problems with a revolvers that I find is you have very limited ammo capacity here you just have six rounds and some of them are five rounds so capacity is an issue I also don't have as much surface air for you to really get a hand on so I can't really get this other hand way up here because you know you're at risk of really torching your thumb and so you got to tuck this down and away or across wherever you want to do it but I don't have as much surface here as I do with the semi-autos now it's also hard to be accurate with this gun that's for a few reasons one is the sight radius is much shorter than even these other subcompact guns and so that means less accurate the barrel length is also shorter which means less accuracy and the trigger it's more difficult because the trigger let me make sure I'm cleared out here I am clear everything was cleared beforehand some of you guys are going to excoriate me in the comments because you're like you need to show their clear I checked them you just got to trust me it's my life on the line here guys I'm doing all right now I'm just going to blow up and I adhere to the universal firearm safety rules if you don't know what I'm talking about new gun owner you need to watch this video for sure and it's the four Universal firearm safety rules check down below this video in the description and watch that video watch that video I just gave my father-in-law and my mother-in-law guns for Christmas and the condition was when I gave them those guns I said and now you must watch my video on the universal firearm safety rules it's part and parcel of receiving this gun and when you get a gun you need to be able to memorize those four Universal Farm safety rules and stick with them it's extremely important you need a gun you need a holster that matches it and you need to know the universal firearm safety rules and then you get on the Range have some fun it'll be great back to revolvers the trigger on these is usually very heavy and very long so some folks will hand these guns to their arthritic grandparent or their wife and say here you go this is a lot easier and simpler used than something like a semi-automatic pistol all you have to do is just press the trigger and a double action revolver will turn the wheel will pull the hammer back and fire a shot that should be a triple action because it's doing three things problem is is the trigger it's so long look at this thing going going going going going going going going going and because it's doing so many actions it's a heavy trigger and so some folks who aren't strong enough to say rack the slide though they could if they watched my video on the technique of how to do that best I'm really plugging my old videos here you need it it's good for you so check down below in the link of how you actually can rack the slide even if you're not as massive ripped and say other people out there that are massive and ripped you'll be able to do that but the problem is you say say you're not strong enough to rack the slide but then you hand them this I'm like oh the slide issues solve but now you have a new trigger issue and I've seen even gals try to double up with a finger and then this finger in there to help them pull it back because they just weren't strong enough to be able to pull that back it's hard to be very accurate with this gun it's almost one of those guns where you press into someone's rib cage gangster sound just start pulling the trigger and doesn't leave casings on the scene of the crime so that's fantastic too kidding just kidding we get swatted now so there you go guys compacts and subcompacts I want you to stay in those two worlds find what's right for you just after you buy your gun you want a good holster that goes with it and you want to watch the universal Farm safety training videos and
