[Music] ladies and gentlemen brothers and sisters it is not a light responsibility that i carry on my shoulders tonight to be an oracle of god on the precipice of a new year as we as believers reflect on the past and prepare for the future the impetus of this moment is vitally important so much so that people are logged in from all over the world to hear what thus saith the lord after much prayer and supplication and laying before god to hear exactly what he would have me share with you tonight he has directed me to first samuel chapter 10 verse number one through seven so that you and i could deliberate over the word of god on the eve of our future [Laughter] we're about to be birthed into a new future a switch of change is about to happen not just because of the date on the calendar but because of all the things that prepared us for this moment that preceded the date on the calendar that's what god is going to speak to us about tonight as we open up the word of god again first samuel chapter 10 verse 1 through 7. then samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on saul's head and kissed him saying has not the lord anointed you ruler over his inheritance when you leave me today you will meet two men near rachel's tomb at zelda on the border of benjamin they will say to you the donkeys you set out to look for have been found and now your father has stopped thinking about them and is worried about you he is asking what shall i do about my son then you will go on from there until you reach the great tree of tabor three men going up to worship god at bethel will meet you there one will be carrying three young goats another three loaves of bread and another a skin of wine they will greet you and offer you two loaves of bridge which you will accept from them after that you will go to gilbert of god where there is a philistine outpost as you approach the town you will meet a procession of prophets listen to this you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with liars and timbrels timbrels pipes and harps being played before them and they will be prophesying good god of body they will be when you meet them they're going to be prophesying when you meet them they're going to be playing on instruments when you meet them they're going to be moving in the spirit of god and the spirit of the lord will come powerfully upon you and you will prophesy and you will be changed into a different person let me read that one again the spirit of the lord will come powerfully upon you and you will prophesy with them and you will be changed into a different person verse number seven once these signs are fulfilled do whatever your hand i'm gonna say that again once these signs are fulfilled do whatever your hands find to do for god is with you may the lord add a blessing to the reading of his word i want to talk to you tonight about the atmosphere of change the atmosphere of change can you feel it we are in the atmosphere of change where we stand right now your spirit knows that we're in the atmosphere of change the news outlets all know that we're in the atmosphere of change they can't prepare too far ahead because we're in the atmosphere of change the government knows they don't know what to do or what to say what to implement what not them because we are in the atmosphere of change everything is moving and moving and moving there is an atmosphere of change bless this word o god in jesus name amen you may be seated i was listening the other day and some native americans and it was quite educational because i have heard a lot of educational material and studied a lot of educational material about native americans but it wasn't written by native americans and it makes a lot of difference where who wrote the information that you call truth because truth is a relative thing you know there's a perspective on truth and so the native americans as i studied them in school we saw them as one group of people one broad brush we stroke them all with that one broad brush and we put them in a category as an ethnicity amongst others we see them as one group but it's far more complex as they begin to talk about how they see themselves because let me tell you it's not so important how other people see you what really matters is how you see yourself they see themselves as a collection of nations i.e they call the sioux nation or the the blackfoot nation they have different nations they do not see them as one category but in this country we have a tendency to describe people by colors thereby relegate them to groups see them as monolithic give them a corporate name they lose their individual identity and they fall into the abyss of how other people see them that is not just true now that was true over 400 and some years ago when my ancestors came to this country it was also true then they did not get on the boat as one people they got on the boat as many different people and in the process of getting on the boat they were on the people on the boat with people who were the same color but were not the same kind they didn't speak the same language they didn't have the same traditions they didn't need the same foods they didn't have the same religion but they were forced together placed in the bottom of a ship sold like commodity items and all of a sudden they had an enemy above them in the slave masters but they were also surrounded by enemies with them because they saw themselves as tribes not one group of people so african americans then become an amalgamation of many diverse tribes that were forged together into becoming one people and all of the trauma associated with being forced into oneness against your will perpetuates itself for generation that's another subject to get into altogether think of my african brothers who did not go over on the boat who stayed on the continent of africa what were besieged by the europeans and the dutch and the europeans all came down to take over the land and in the process of dividing the land they split how my african brothers saw themselves because they saw themselves tribally as europa they saw themselves as tribes as zulus they saw themselves as tribes not necessarily defined by land but by language and culture they moved nomadically from place to place identifying themselves with tribes they were like my indian brothers they were nations nomadic nations moving throughout the earth that had been overcome by a people who saw the value of the land and not the value of the people so then as they begin to split up the land so they could take all the treasures out of the land according to the regions and who owned this region and who owned that region colonialism came in and drew a line right down through the middle of tribes splitting families apart splitting traditions apart they were split into people groups and all of a sudden we had the birthing of many nations a hundred years ago there was no nigeria 120 years ago there was no ghana 70 years ago there was no ghana there was no kenya 100 years ago these are all terms that were infused upon many many nations of people who are now having to design a new form of government around how other people perceive them so consequently when you go to africa you have got kings over tribes coexisting with presidents over countries because even though this way of life is infused upon them it takes generations and generations to finally bring about a shift in a culture where they fully accept or redefine themselves because redefining yourself whether you are in africa or australia or europe or the north pole is a difficult thing to do you must then come to realize and to understand that africa has 2 200 different languages on the continent of africa alone you must understand that our nation recognizes 550 different tribes in the united states of native americans but we refer to them as one people and when people come over to visit us from africa americans and african-americans all refer to them as africans as if africa were a country and not a continent so we are wrestling between how people see you and how do you see yourself we're also grappling with re-evaluating and re-understanding yourself in the light of transition there is transition going on here massive change going on going on in america going on in africa going on around the world and it is going on in our text in our texts israel is going through the turbulence of understanding itself having been saturated by 400 years of slavery they were actually in egypt 430 years 400 years of which were slavery years and slavery had demoralized them and had stripped them of their identity their sense of who they were and where they were and god leads him back to the promised land and he takes them the long way because he knows it's going to take a long time for them to redefine themselves you don't wash away 400 years in four minutes you don't wash away 400 years in four days 40 years they march through the wilderness just beginning to grasp what it is like to have kingdom mentality kingdom mentality because you see our god is a kingdom thinker he is a kingdom the word kingdom means king's domain he thinks in terms of dominions and territories and god is a king so he thinks like a king and the word kingdom is an amalgamation of the king and the domain and every king was known by his dominion or his territory so because god thinks like a king and he created adam in his likeness who thought like a king god had to give him a dominion so he could act like a king so he could hold on to his likeness of god so god says to him be fruitful multiply replenish subdue watch this and have dominion i want you to be like me i want you to walk around like me i want you to understand who you are large and in charge i want you to have dominion i want you to have a kingdom mentality god's will for his people has never changed he has always been a theocratic uh philosophical god he has always seen himself as king whether you're talking about the garden of eden or ultimately in the book of revelations the millennial reign of christ god has always seen himself seated upon the throne high and lifted up the auspicious one the sovereign of days the mighty god the prince of peace the everlasting father he said heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool i rest my feet on your planet that's how big our god is he sits on the circle of the earth he has all power in his head i am that i am i can do whatever i want to do whenever i want to do it because i'm god and besides me there is no other and while you struggle to figure out who you are i am clear on who i am besides me there is no other i look for another god and i could find no other god but myself and i concluded i alone have god besides me there is no other it's not about which god are you praying to there are no other gods for me i don't own them god good god almighty this is the god mentality the kingdom mentality and god is struggling to get a kingdom mentality on an oppressed people and so am i the struggle is to get an oppressed people to redefine how they see themselves and to understand themselves in the light of who they are now and this struggle has continued long past adam long past abram long past moses leading the children of israel out of egypt and it continues to perpetuate itself because when the truth of the matter is can i take my time tonight the truth of the matter is when god led them out of egypt he was setting up the kingdom at mount sinai when he gave them the ten commandments and he gave them the judgments and the sacraments god was giving them his constitution this is going to be your constitution this is going to be your rules and regulation this is going to be you are going to be my people and i am going to be your god he had clearly defined how it was going to be after 40 years in the wilderness and a new nation has grown up the new nation lusts to be like other nations they they they picked out judges in lieu of kings because god saw himself as the king so when you read the book of judges you are reading judges as magistrates and principalities that were up under the sovereign god he alone was king but the people kept saying we want a king like the other people have so that we can be like them they wanted a man as king they wanted somebody that was tantamouth to other nations and cultures so that they could refer to a king and what they were doing unbeknownst to them was rejecting god as king they did it in the old testament they did it in the garden of eden adam rejected god as king when he was seduced by eve into obeying satan he rejected god and lost the dominion they did it in the wilderness they rejected god as king they're doing it now in the book of judges they're rejecting god as king and consequently god succumbs to their requests because god will not rule you dictatorially and take away the free will he gave you so god says all right i will collaborate with you if you want a man as king i will give you a king this text that we're reading is a volatile text it's a very volatile text it's a volatile text because it is a transition of a people who are trying to understand who they are they've been slave for 400 years now they're liberated they are related they are interconnected but they are also tribal there are 12 tribes who came out of the 12 sons of jacob have become the 12 tribes of israel they understand themselves as tribes but they struggle to see themselves as a kingdom watch what i'm saying to you now after they have besought god and petitioned him for a king god succumbs to their requests and speaks to samuel now i don't want to leave you the impression that god was taken by surprise because god already knew what they were going to do before they did it that's why he wouldn't allow hannah's womb to be opened up because he wanted her to have a son and prophesied through samuel at his calling you're going to do things that cause both ears of them that hear it to begin to tingle and one of those things is what he is doing right now when he approaches saul with that oil it is a powerful cataclysmic moment of connectivity because when he comes at him with the oil he is anointing the first king of israel the first human king of israel he anoints saul to be king not only according to the will of the people but god knew it was going to happen and it could not happen without god because only a sovereign can transfer power you can't just make me a king if you don't have any power you have to have the power to make me something and so god said if i don't do it you can't do it since i am your king i will transfer power to him he anoints samuel for this cause came you out of your mother's womb to start a succession of kings in the earth because you're going to be my prophet and that guy over there the son of kish that tall one that seven foot nine guy over there that guy that stood ahead and shoulders above everybody else the one whose shoulders was broad and back was straight and he looks like a king i am going to make him a king and when samuel saw saul his one job was to make saul see who he was for saul did not understand himself as a king and now he has to redefine himself within the context of how god sees him saul only sees himself as the son of kiss but now he has to see himself as the king of israel and when samuel walks over to him with the oil he anoints him to be king understand that the anointing to be king is falling on saul when there is chaos in the kingdom the chaos in the kingdom is described in the last verse of the book of judges when the bible says and there was no king in israel and every man did what was right in his own eyes and anytime everybody does whatever is right in their own eyes it's gonna be chaos we are living in chaos right now because we are living in a time that everything's okay you can do whatever you want to do you can believe whatever you want to believe you can say whatever you want to say everybody's doing their own thing and it's a sign of a chaotic society that has lost its compass we're in chaos and our streets are on fire we're in chaos and on christmas morning they're blowing up downtown cities we're in chaos because our children are not safe in school shot down like dog we're in chaos because we are running from a virus we cannot even see we are in chaos because the church has given up its role for political power where entails a complete identity crisis how bad you how dare you talk about people who are sexually confused when you're theologically confused you don't even know you're the church you're the church you're not a party you're the church how dare you talk about somebody being confused you don't even know who you are it is in this chaos that this text reaches out to us watching god bringing order out of absolute care what i want you to see first is that chaos will never stop kingdom [Music] [Laughter] that the kingdom will always prevail regardless of the chaos for thousands and thousands and thousands of years neither crosses nor lions dens nor snake pits have eradicated the kingdom the kingdom has survived plagues and wars pestilence and disease chaos a kingdom has survived the kingdom has survived conquerors the kingdoms the kingdom has survived hitler and the nazis the kingdom has survived all types of atrocities the kingdom has always survived so you see they're all flowing in the midst of the chaos the oil is flowing and the chaos is occurring the oil is flowing in the chaos is the flow but the oil is still flowing somebody lift your hands because the oil is still flowing you may be broke but the oil is still flowing you may have lost the loved one but the oil is still flowing your heart might be broken but the oil is still flowing you may have had to move in with your mama but the oil is still flowing and you need to praise it because we're coming into a realm of glory where the oil is going to flow tonight and touch your life in a supernatural way the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing the oil is flowing that's how that matters [Music] doesn't matter the date on your calendar it doesn't matter when the clock strikes 12. the only thing that matters is that the oil is flowing you can change dates you can change years you can change clothes but if you don't get it this all you won't have a new nothing you just got another date on the old you and so when god gets ready to bring change he didn't bring fireworks he doesn't send balloons he doesn't blow whistles or kiss strangers in clubs when god gets ready to bring about a change you'll always know it because when god is about to change something the whole will start flowing how i feel a flow in the holy ghost i feel a flower [Music] and so we're standing here in the middle of chaos and the prophet is walking through the chaos and he's walking them from a theocracy to a monarchy and he's walking them from a theocracy into a monarchy and he's doing it with the flow of the oh somebody said let it flow somebody say let it flow type online let it flow speak it out tweet it out text it out sit it through everything let it flow let it flow let it flow if you're sick let it flow if you're broke let it flow if you hurt let it flow if you're wounded let it flow if you're angry let it flow if you're upset let it flow if you adopt it let it flow if you're pregnant let it flow let it flow because there can be no change until the oil flows the flowing of the oil is the indication of the change the oil is symbolic of the holy spirit and whenever the holy spirit moves there will be change there was darkness until the holy spirit moved whenever the spirit moves it will be changed the church wasn't born until the holy ghost moved the holy ghost moving is a sign of change it's always a change mary wasn't pregnant to the holy ghost's move whenever the holy ghost moves it will be changed she was a virgin one moment and a mother the next the holy ghost moved there was a change whatever the spirit god moved that would be god is not just moving for your entertainment god is not just moving for your enjoyment god is not here to entertain you on new year's eve he is here to change you [Music] he is not here to be your santa claus and look at your list of what you want for this year you're wanting god to change your dominion and god is wanting to change a king how dare you ask god to change your life while you ignore him when he's trying to change you samuel didn't come to anoint the ground that was a mistake of colonialism they valued the ground more than they did the people god didn't love the ground god loved the people and so the oil doesn't come to the ground the oil comes to the head now being anointed is a messy business oh look at somebody say it's a messy business being anointed is a messy business now when you come to church now and we anoint you with oil it's not a messy business we just take a little drop and we make a little cross on your head and it's a nice little neat little business but in the bible days when they anointed you with all it was a messy business they poured the vial of oil down on your head it dripped onto your beers it ruined your clothes it fell all the way down to your skirts being annoyed [Music] was a messy business this is a messy anointing there's no way you can be get anointed and keep it a secret this is a messy anointing there's no way you can be this anointed and keep it to yourself this is a messy anointing there's no way you can keep your composure and be this anointed this is a messy anointing when god's anointing gets on you it'll mess your stuff up it'll mess your plans up intimate your routine of international personality up it'll make your rituals up when god anoints you it's a messy anointing samuel pulls all from the flask onto the head uh samuel pulls the oil onto the head of saul and saul is drenched drenched drenched dreads me oh god saturate me oh god permeate me with your spirit i apologize for inviting you into my stuff but not into my business go ahead and mess with me god wants to mess with you tonight i know this is not the god you expected you wanted the god that was taking orders curbside service for 2021. what would you like to have that's not the god you got god is not going to change your year and overlook his inability to change you this is a messy business he wants to get all his stuff that you value he wants to leave his oily stain on your life the problem with anointing people with oil is that oil didn't come out if you anointed them with water the water would dry but if you're naughty with all it's a permanent stain being anointed is a messy business you can't get away from god's anointing i don't care who you run with i don't care who you sleep with i don't care how many clubs you go in you're gonna have to carry the stain with you because once god [Music] completely saturated saul is covered with oil and then the prophet kissed him so this man is all griezed down and the prophet's kiss is a sign of authority the oil comes from god the kiss comes from the prophet that both god and the prophet are in agreement thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven heaven sends the oil earth sends a kiss and in one greasy kiss all of israel is changed trying to understand themselves now they have a king but they think like slaves it sounds like a good preaching today a lot of times you're preaching kingdom food but you're talking to people with slave mentality and when you talk to people with slave mentality they they eat the bones and leave the meat [Music] my mother used to say eat the meat and throw away the bone but no today we eat the bones and we throw away the meat samuel the samuel one of the greatest prophets of the old testament samuel who was only born at god's divine request samuel the only prophet in the bible that prophesied after his death was one of the most anointed prophets of the old testament has now kissed the face of saul and anointed him to be king and then he gives him a challenge a threefold challenge i'm gonna give you this real quick and i'll go number one he gives him the confirmation he says now being anointed is not enough i want you to go and when you get to a particular area he said you know down by rachel's tomb he says two men are going to come down there not one but two and they are going to tell you that your father has been looking for you and that he's been concerned about the sheep but the sheep have come back home but you have not come back home and he is concerned about you he said he did this so that saul would have an absolute confirmation that samuel was the anointed man of god you cannot use word that is unconfirmed you can only use a word that has a confirmation stop marrying people because somebody told you to marry him stop doing things because somebody said thus saith the lord if there is no confirmation there is no application and so there was a confirmation to confirm the authenticity and notice not only what how he confirmed it notice where he confirmed he confirmed it at rachel's tomb you remember rachel's tomb can i preach lord you remember rachel's tomb rachel was the matriarch of the old testament who was pregnant with her second child and went into labor on the road to ephrata and the bible says in the back of a wagon an old lopsided raggedy wagon while they were yet a little ways from ephrata her water broke and she went into labor and she pushed out her final baby just before she gave up the ghost and the nurse caught the baby and told the mother she says don't worry it's a boy and as rachel was taking her flight and she was closing her eyes and going into a death rattle she said benoni she named him son of my sorrows because that was how she saw it but old jacob was sitting on the wagon and he hopped down off the wagon whoa nearly whoa and he brought his whole body back to the back of the wagon where he could hear the women squalling and he opened up the wagon and move the curtains out of the way just in time to see the love of his life slip away into glory and between her legs comes the hope of his legacy a child she called bonona son of my sorrows but jacob looked at him and said no his point of view was totally different he had been named by a dying woman her point of view is he's the son of my sorrows i'm sorry i won't raise you i'm sorry i won't be there with you i'm sorry i didn't get to see you through i'm sorry my water broke before i got there i'm sorry i won't be able to watch you grow i'm sorry i won't be able to give you my wisdom but jacob was not dying he was alive he saw him as son of my strength and he birthed him and called him benjamin son of my strength now saul is a descendant of benjamin and the reason that samuel tells saul to go to by rachel's tomb and so that rachel can see that all that she suffered was not in vain and god said to somebody watching tonight said before it's over i'm gonna show you that all that you suffered was not in vain the nights you were up the nights you cried the nights your food wouldn't go down the night you were pacing the floor god said it was not in vain there's a king coming out of your storm i heard you say i can't wait to get out of 2020 but you should not say that don't despise 2020 because there wouldn't be a 2021 if there weren't a 2020 and everything you went through in 2020 god is going to stop by and show you that there was a reason for that season in your life i don't know who i'm preaching to but i feel like i'm talking to somebody if you're in the house make some noise if i'm in your business make some noise if i'm talking to your head make some noise open your mouth and give god a praise a praise a praise a praise lord i thank you my labor was not in vain lord i thank you my crying was not in vain lord i thank you i thank you lord [Music] he said go down and walk past rachel's grave let her see that it wasn't just sorrow you birthed the king let her see that the prophecy was right let her see all's well that ends well let her see that i brought success out of your sorrow i brought day out of your night i brought promise out of your pain let her see that if i before you i'm more than the world against you let us see that i'm god all by myself i don't even need you to be alive to bring my word to pass if i promise you i'm gonna make that thing happen you got a promise for 2021 and god's going to bring it to pass i need 30 seconds of crazy praise just crazy holy ghost supernatural praise right now yeah yeah yeah praise it praise him like you mean it praise him like you got a made-up man praise him like the devil's defeated praise him like you're about to deliver a promise praise him like god is about to perform a miracle in your life and the oil is flowing you know all this flowing is coming out of your mouth it's coming out of your praise it's coming out of your tear ducts it's coming out of the carpet of your hands you got five seconds left to give god a praise right now just five just five just four just four just three just three just two just two in your last second shout to god like you lost your mind yes yes yes so the first test the first test brought confirmation the second test brought consecration because he said go till you get to bethel bethel is the house of god he said and when you get to bethel you're going to see some men heading up to bethel and they're going up to worship he says you're gonna see three men they're gonna be carrying three goats they're gonna have three loaves of bread they're gonna have a flagging of wine he said they're not gonna offer you the goats they're not gonna offer you the wine they're going to offer you two loaves of bread why did they have the bread in the first place the bread was something you used in an offering up to god the wine was something you used in an offering up to god the goats were something you used in an offering up to god it was unusual to share god's offering with anyone but they're going to give you two loaves i believe that the two loaves are prophetic for the splitting of israel into two kingdoms and that when you reign you're gonna have to reign over over judah and israel there are two loaves but they're made out of one lump yeah can you lead through a split [Laughter] can you lead through a split and they're gonna give you two loaves of bread bear in mind he's still greasy [Music] all of this is happening with all over his clothes he hadn't gotten a chance to change the oil did you know that the oil is still on you i know you went through a lot last year but did you know the oil is still on you i know you suffered a lot of things but did you know the oil is still on you i know you had to cry yourself to sleep but you're still greasy you're still greasy they lied on you but you're still greasy they talked about you but you're still greasy they backed up against the wall but you're still greasy look at somebody and tell them i'm still greasy i'm still greasy you lied on me but you didn't take my grease you talked about me but you couldn't take my grease you betrayed me but you couldn't take my grace you hurt my feelings but you couldn't hurt my grace what god has for me is for me since god anointed me no devil into hell no witch no root worker no destroyer no mafia no gang leader nobody can take this all that i have the world didn't give it to me and the world can't take it away somebody type now i got it i got it i lost my car but i got it i lost my job but i got it i lost my friends but i got it i lost my marriage but i got it i'm still greasy you left me but the oil is still here walk where you got to walk talk like you got to talk move like you got a bull they all is still yeah now saul takes his greasy self to bethel and there he experiences the consecration of the loaves the consecration of the lows the two lows it's the same thing that jesus did on the road to emmaus when he sat down with the disciples and the bible said that they saw him not through the cup but they saw him through the order of the breaking of bread god reveals himself in the breaking of bread he did with two fish and five loaves of bread he revealed himself in the order of the breaking of bread 2020 was a breaking year but you see god in the breaking so that was his consecration i need to know if you're gonna be my king that you can see me in the breaking if you're ever gonna get control over your domain you have to see god in the breaking i know you want 2021 to change your situation god is not worried about changing your situation god is worried about changing you because if god can change you you can change the situation the problem with you is that your perspective is influenced by your emotions rachel because you're in pain everything coming out of you is named from your point of view you want me to change the baby i don't need to change the baby i need to change the mother cause you named the baby so go by rachel's grave and let's fix this thing that her sorrow was really my strength that her pain was really my purpose that her problem was my power and then go to bethel where jacob has disturbed discovered the house of god and you'll see some men getting ready to worship and i'm going to share my offering with you this covenant is going to legitimize my relationship with you as a king so that you can reign over your domain listen all god wants you to do in 21 2021 is reign over your domain get out of other people's business you ain't got nothing to do with what's going on in their house in their marriage on their job in their life it's to take all of your anointing to rule over what god has given you dominion over he walked on a little bit further and he goes and he says when you come to this next place you're going to see the prophets coming down off the hill now watch in the second place they were going up to worship in the third place they're coming down having been in my presence they have been in my glory and you're gonna see the prophets coming out of my glory and they're going to be singing and they're going to be playing on harps and they're going to be playing instruments music is an important part of this text give me some music music is an important part of this text the reason i'm wanting to play for a minute is that music controls atmosphere [Music] if you want to change your house and you can't get no new furniture and you can't paint anything and you can't move any walls if you just turn on some music music will change the atmosphere [Music] yeah yeah he walked into that [Music] he didn't create it he walked into it he said when you get there they're going to already be playing you're going to step into an atmosphere that is not your own the atmosphere is waiting on you god said he's got an atmosphere that is waiting on you and you are about to step into a glory you didn't even create yourself you get ready to step into an anointing you got an anointing on you but the anointing on you will never replace what i'm about to put in you you're about to step into what you've been wearing on the outside is about to get on the inside lift your hands and open your mouth and i want you to praise him [Music] first of all he brought you through 2020. he brought you through all the
