with that let's go to Daniel chapter 9 and what I think are the four most amazing profound verses in the Bible whenever I was at Dallas seminary and I had a fellow named Wayne Lindsey taught me Daniel chapter 9 and I stood there I slept there and just looked at the book after everybody had left the class I just stared at it and said this is the Word of God Daniel chapter 9 and verse 1 Daniel is under nail Persian rule it says in Daniel 9 1 in the first year of Darius the son of a has awareness of median descent we all remember whenever you saw the son of Nebuchadnezzar named Belshazzar drinking from the articles of the temple that had been taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar and he was mocking God and he was praising the gods of wood and stone and earthenware and you remember as he was doing that all of a sudden there was handwriting on the wall and God said you've been found you've been weighed in the balance found wanting and your kingdom is taken away from you the Hebrew simply says you and heap of trouble boy it means it's over i just called an end to your kingdom and that night it said that der is the meed came through and the medo-persian empire conquered them well daniel has set through nebuchadnezzar an Belshazzar and now there is a new king this is the way you've got to be when you are a a child of this world can politics and politicians and can countries come and go yeah but you stay strong upon the rock and you bloom where you're planted and that was what Daniel was wherever God put him he bloomed even that happened to be a lion's den he could bloom there and so in chapter 9 verse 1 it's in the first year of this new takeover and in verse 2 he's reading his Bible Daniel that's believed had three quiet times a day if you know earlier in Daniel and the first year of his reign I Daniel observed in the books plural he has in his presence his Bible he has the law he has the histories from Joshua on and he has the prophets and it's interesting because he's reading the Prophet Jeremiah Jeremiah is a contemporary of Daniel and it's interesting that no one has said Jeremiah is officially the word of the Lord though Jeremiah said he was but Daniel and his instinct as a believer can recognize what is the Word of God we all ever wondered how we know which books are in the Bible and which books are not the church recognizes the voice of the shepherd we don't make stuff Bible we recognize the inspired and we declare it as Bible which it declares and so Daniel recognizes in his day I mean the ink is barely fresh on the page this is first copy of Jeremiah's book and so he reads in Jeremiah the number of the years revealed as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the Prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem how long is Jerusalem going to be destroyed which the Babylonians did when are we going to be able to go back and rebuild that city he wants to know well God prophesied in the Book of Jeremiah that it would be seventy years you know why God takes seventy years because that's how long it takes to kill off the old generation and that's the way God brings revival he just kills off the bad guys let's continue I want to show you the text I don't want to quote I want you to see it it's in Jeremiah chapter 25 so just go back to your left I want you to handle this and Jeremiah 25 and verse 8 God said you have not obeyed my words verse 9 I will in didn't take the families of the north declares the Lord and I'll send them to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon my servant and will bring against them against this land and its inhabitants against all these nations round about I Lee destroy them make them a a hissing and a desolation God said I'm gonna turn your nation into a parking lot and I'm gonna do it for about three generations the sins of the fathers visited on the sons the third and fourth well that's how long it it took to get away from the sin of your great-great Grandaddy and here in verse 10 I'll take from them the voice of joy the voice of gladness voice of Bryan groom voice of the bride sound of the Millstone light of the lamp I'm about to shut down the party like that great Christian hymn turn out the light the party's over I think John Wesley or one of them Rose it God says turn out the light the party's over can God do that where the nation turn out the light and in verse 11 there's hope this whole land will be a desolation and a horror and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon for 70 years well Daniel starts figuring let's go back here to Daniel chapter 9 he starts figuring and he says we've been in captivity all the way from Nebuchadnezzar through Belshazzar now through this guy it has been about 70 years and it moves Daniel to prayer when you get some time read Daniel 9 3 and following it's one of the great great prayers of the Bible and Daniel finishes in verse 19 like hammer blows Lord here forgive listen take action for your own sake my god don't delay because your city your people are called by your name he appeals to the faithfulness of God and his covenant relationship to Israel and bringing Israel back not because Israel deserves it but because God has given his word and so god I appeal to your Hasidic your faithful love well in verse 20 while I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel that always amazes me Deuteronomy chapter 30 says when you're sent away to the nation's if you will heart heartfelt seek my face and confess and turn God said I will gather you that is being prayed by one Jew are you with me one Jew this is not a prayer chain this is not a get-together this is one Jew holding to this when you go to Nehemiah chapter 1 Nehemiah is going to quote Deuteronomy 30 about God bringing the nation back and one Jew is going to pray that does that encourage your heart 1 the prayer of a the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man can availeth much so one man prays well I'm presenting my supplication before the Lord my God on behalf of the holy mountain meaning Jerusalem and while I was still speaking in prayer the man Gabriel whom I had seen in the vision previously came to me and my extreme weariness can you just pray until your eyes are red to where you're prayed out and he does about the time of the evening offering no note the evening offering was a sacrifice that was offered there was a burnt offering and then there was a grain offering offered in the morning sunlit sunup and it's sundown because God neither slumber nor slept there is no offering right here because there is no temple and yet God recognizes that his prayer is the sweet aroma of sacrifice and it is and while I was speaking in prayer he came at the time of the evening offering and he gave me instruction and talked with me and said Daniel I have come forth to give you insight with an understanding at the beginning of your supplications the command was issued as soon as you started praying God knew what you were going to say did Jesus say something about this God knows your prayer before you even pray it he said as soon as you started praying God said to me get get down there and as Daniel is praying Gabriel is standing beside him tapping his foot waiting for him to get through there's a guy and he runs our Tamra back there the in the computer room and Dan his name is John Quentin Ella he was in one of my Bible studies John Quentin Ella writes the math textbooks they use in the Tam's program he's a graduate of Princeton and of Stanford so don't any of y'all try to talk with him all right he's real smart and John was in a study of mine once and I said John if Heaven is beyond the farthest star and then John clicked off how many light years there was and if this prayer takes about five minutes to read and if he was waiting by the end of this prayer how fast can an angel travel and John he didn't write he just kind of leaned back and then he gave me the answer I can't tell you but it's real fast and he figured that when the prayer was over that Gabriel was standing there picking the bugs out of his teeth because he had gone so fast well and so at the beginning of your supplication the command was issued and I've come to tell you because you're highly esteemed so give heed to the message and gain understanding are you ready verse 24 now Jeremiah 25:11 says you're going to be in captivity seventy years and then you're gonna go home all he wants to ask is God it's about 70 years are we gonna get to go home and rebuild the temple that's all he was asking does God sometimes answer what you didn't ask God knows what's on your heart God's gonna answer his prayer but it's just gonna be a little footnote God's gonna answer exceeding abundant beyond what you ask or even think and that's the way God is and his answers God says not just in 70 years are you gonna go back and rebuild the temple now seventy weeks have been decreed now what did the Hebrew simply says this seventy sevens in the Septuagint the Greek translation of the Old Testament it says 70 hep ted's 70 units of so in English the best word we would have what would be a good word for a unit of seven weeks seventy weeks and so God says in 77s because sevens a number of completeness seventy times seven completeness and seventy weeks now how many years would that be how many weeks of years seven days in a week seventy weeks we would take 70 and multiply it by seven being a college student and math that made a B I work this out in my giant brain seventy times seven seven times not is not to bring down your note seven times seven is forty-nine four nine not that's 490 years am i right and did I hear who back in there huh seventy weeks are in 490 years why doesn't he just say 490 years hang on and I'll show you there's a reason he uses sevens 70 weeks have been decreed for your people and in verse 24 each of these six things is an attribute of the kingdom of God for you and your people and your holy city Israel and Jerusalem to finish the transgression your disobedience to God is going to be over there will be no more idolatry and the sin of Israel today is the rejection of God's final sacrifice you will finish the transgression no longer will your nation be in rebellion and to go deeper I'm gonna make an end of sin no more will your nature your nation not know the Lord you are going to be a compliant people and you will make atonement for iniquity to make atonement for iniquity means that you offer sacrifice you repent and you trust the mercy of God your nation is going to be saved they're going to come to God with empty hands and confess their sin and they will look for God to cover Kafar yom kippur the day of atonement you're going to look for God to cover your salvation and in verse 24 to bring in everlasting righteousness you will be an obedient people you will not just be a nation that won't rebel you will be a nation that will obey me because I'm going to put my law in your heart and I'm going to put it on mind I'm gonna put my spirit within you and I am Jeremiah said I will cause you to obey me it's called the new covenant have we enjoyed that right now yes we have we have partaken of the the rich root of Israel the promises to the Messiah though we are not Jews so these are things that God has done in our lives in verse 24 and we will seal up vision prophecy all of the Messianic promises all of the promises to the prophets they will have been fulfilled and in verse 24 you will anoint the most holy place you will have a temple and it will be the word anoint in Greek it's the word Christ Christ will be in his temple Christ will be ruling from his temple and so in 490 years the kingdom of God is coming Nate did we have a little see I've been to seminary and I'm into high tech kind of stuff so in 70 weeks 490 years the kingdom of God is coming now what question is going through Daniels mind when does it start when does the time clock start verse 25 you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem see that was all Daniel was praying for at the outset are we going to be able to go back and restore and rebuild our city you said we were God says yes you are that's just the first thing though from a issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah until he comes and he's going to tell you when he's going to come now so when does the ton of time clock of the 70 weeks begin from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem do we know when that is yes we do March the 4th 445 BC as a matter of fact there's a whole chapter of your Old Testament that is about that decree I want you to see it I want you to touch it go back to your left to the book of Nehemiah your last chronological books of your Old Testament or Ezra Esther and Nehemiah when Israel returned from captivity and so in the book of Nehemiah your last book in chapter 2 Nehemiah is the cupbearer before a king his name is artaxerxes Longy manis and he looks at him in chapter 2 verse 2 and the king says why is your face said Nehemiah says I was very much afraid because you're not allowed to be sad in the presence of the king remember what Jesus said about John the Baptist if you're looking for a man and soft clothes go look in palaces you're not going to find it with John he'll tell you what you need to hear so you couldn't be sad in the presence of a king he said I was afraid and I said to the king let the king live forever Washington tonight might be said the place of my father's tombs lies desolate and the gates have been consumed with fire and I'm sure that Nehemiah flinches right here is he going to be killed or not this King Longy - was a guy that built a bridge one time and a river flooded and knocked it down and he had the river flogged he had a father asked him if his son could get out of military service and he said yes and he cut him in half and he put one side of him on one side of the Prairie ground the other on the other side and marched the army through the parts now you're out on military service now that's the guy we're talking to and so he says what would you request and so I love verse 4 I prayed to the God of heaven and I said to the king I'll guarantee you he did that's just firing up a prayer like a like a one of the things I'm forgetting what he go Flair's yeah he's just firing it up if it please the king and if your servants found favor before you send me to Judah the city of my father's tombs that I can rebuild it the king said this Queen sitting beside him you know what that means when he said something with the Queen sitting beside and he said it ex cathedra from the throne and once he said it it's a done deal can't be revoked he said how long will your journey be when were you returned he had thought through it I gave him a time and then I said to the king and if it please the king I need some letters for safety to get through the regions and in verse 8 I need some timber I need a letter to the keeper of the Kings force I'm gonna need some timber and at the end of eight the King granted them because the good hand of my god was on me that was a prophesied act and so go back here to Daniel and Daniel is told from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah now do you realize what's about to happen I'm about to show you when Jesus Christ came so get ready you're gonna know more than Israel knows about this text because the Jews are forbidden to read this paragraph it's fact let the bones tremble that calculate the days and so in verse 25 from March the 4th 445 BC until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks seven times seven is forty-nine y'all remember your times this seven times seven is forty-nine it took 49 years to rebuild the city of Jerusalem to get it all done to get the wall up took 52 days so there's going to be seven weeks and then there's going to be 62 weeks 62 times 7 I'm sorry 62 plus 7 7 plus 2 bring down your 9 6 9 that's 69 weeks and 70 weeks of years the kingdom is coming in 69 weeks Messiah is going to appear so if I will take 69 times 7 I will get how many years it's gonna be until Messiah 9 times 7 is 63 put down your 3 carry or 6 7 times 6 is 42 42 plus 6 it's 48 that's 483 years to what you say you could have just said 490 and subtracted 7 you idiot and you two had 483 but I did it the long way because I'm not into new math so he just told you from 445 BC plus 483 years the Messiah of God is coming now you can do the math here and it's not real hard from 445 BC until the Year Zero is obviously 445 years if I will subtract for 45 from 483 then I will know ad what year Jesus Christ came he if you will subtract for 45 from 483 you get 38 so you're telling me that in about 38 B ad the messiah came and if he will consider the fact that a Jewish year is 360 days and then Roman leap years that are in there you know what Sir Robert Anderson said he was a English scholar he said from 445 BC 483 years or 69 weeks of years he said it comes down to the Palm Sunday that Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem proclaiming himself his king he did a book on it called the coming Prince did anything significant happen in 33 AD yeah it was when the Messiah of God came just like God said he would now the question you're probably asking is where is the kingdom if he's the king where's verse 24 where's all the kingdom manifestations well in verse 25 it will be built again with Plaza and moat in times of distress and if you've ever read the book of Nehemiah it is in times of distress so where is he anybody want to find out let's look in verse 26 what do we got so far Nate sixty-nine weeks the clock begins in 445 BC tick tick tick tick tick tick until it comes to Messiah and approximately 33 AD 483 years verse 26 then after the sixty-two years I'm sorry weeks the temple is built the city is built and those seven weeks seven weeks of years 49 weeks of years and then 62 weeks later our 69 weeks 483 years the Messiah will be what your Bible have cut off excuse me he'll be cut off I thought Messiah was to be worshiped and received he was Messiah will be cut off and have nothing you know what that means it means they're going to reject him and they're going to kill him and no one's going to follow him and they're gonna take his clothes off when he hangs upon a cross and they're gonna give him to his executioner's and he's gonna die and they're gonna put him in his grave and a borrowed grave from a rich man so it prophesized very clearly that the Messiah of God is going to come in 33 AD and he's going to be executed by his own nation when Daniel wrote this there was no Greece there was no Rome there was nothing of of the time of Christ and yet he hit it dead on the nose then what happened after Christ was rejected let's look in verse 26 and then the people of the prince who is to come context from chapter 7 and chapter 8 who is the prince who is to come it's Antichrist that we've looked at in 7 and 8 it says they will come and destroy the city and the sanctuary what happened to Jerusalem and the sanctuary after Jesus was killed what happened to that city and 70 AD what happened to them is what Jesus said was going to happen to him not one stone would be left unturned they would be destroyed by who the Antichrist nope doesn't say the Antichrist will do it that's a look again and the peace of the prince who is to come the prince who is to come Antichrist takes over if you'll remember a 10 nation power and that 10 nation power is the revival of what Kingdom Rome who were the people that destroyed the sanctuary and the city Romans Daniel prophesied it before there was a Rome they were Etruscan farmers and Daniel hit it right on the nose and it says they will destroy the city and the sanctuary that Israel is going to be deported once again they were deported under the Babylonians and now it says its end will come with a flood what is the flood take away anybody from Houston what does a flood take away everything how much of Israel was deported by the Romans virtually everything just like Daniel said the city the temple and the people are going to be taken away again we've been had to get out of Egypt we had to get out of Babylon and now we're going to have to do it again it's never been known that a nation can be deported and live Israel's done it three times well it's n will come with a flood and even to the end meaning the end of this period of their judgment there will be war and desolations what has happened to the nation of Israel for the last twenty centuries they have been out of their country the Old Covenant ended because God destroyed the priesthood and he destroyed the temple there can't there is no Old Covenant and their blood has been shed on every single continent on planet Earth and as Paul said until this day when law is rid of veil lines over their heart Paul said a part of partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in as a matter of fact the word desolate if you put it into modern language it would be called a hollow cost a complete burning and so God says I'm going to send my son in 33 they're gonna kill him and then there will be a judgment on Israel such will make the ears tingle now obviously all of these sequential verses occurred back-to-back has there been a gap after verse 26 took a lot of time for this stuff to happen whenever they crucified Jesus this time clock jammed and 490 years the kingdom is coming the clock starts in 445 BC tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick until seven years short Messiah comes and they drive a nail and that time clock stops seven years short and it's been sitting there gathering dust for 20 centuries what has God been doing in those twenty centuries Israel has been darkened and it doesn't tell you here what God has been doing you're gonna have to keep reading has God reached out to another people has he taken the Jewish Messiah the Jewish covenant enlightenment to the Jewish book and the Jewish salvation has he given it to somebody else he's given it to those that are called out to him at Kaleo the ekklesia command said he say ecclesia the church and so the church age is implied what did he talk about it because if you did Israel would always say they had to do this so this could be done that's why it's called a mystery only the New Testament Saint gets to what God is doing well Nate what did our lifts come up to the Romans came just like you said Jerusalem destroyed just like it said sanctuary destroyed just like I said deportation of Israel just like he said and anti-semitism follows just like he said well anybody want to go home now we're short something and seventy weeks of year the kingdoms will come the kingdom will come and 483 years 69 weeks time flocks gonna Jam Messiah is going to die and Israel is going to be judged we're missing something what are we missing the 70th week of Daniel we're missing a seven-year period do you know that the last book of your Bible is all about nothing but a seven-year period it's called the revelation of John and that seventy year period that's that seven-year period is called the Great Tribulation it's called the time of Jacob's trouble and so imagine that it's like one of those movies where you've got this big elaborate machine that nobody can understand was strange writing and it's got dust all over it and trees have grown all around it and you blow off all the dust and you say there's a tumbler here and it's gone through 490 or 83 increments it's waiting for one this key is going to turn it and when it happens it says here thou shalt hideth the fan what is that we're waiting for that seven year period what's God doing in the meantime well he's announcing to the world you better get in the boat so we're one week short the week is called the tribulation the time of Jacob's trouble have we got that Nate the 70th week we're waiting on it and in between the cross and the 70th week there's a little parenthesis that isn't mentioned here if you were Spock I'm talking about the Vulcan okay spot the people still watch store okay if Spock was reading with the pure rational mind he would say captain something is wrong here God made promises to the Jew Messiah came when he said he was killed the city the sanctuary the people were removed and then I keep reading captain what do you read the spot that's my Bill Shatner what do you read I see the book of Romans the book of Corinthians Ephesus Galatia Philip I captain all of a sudden it's not a Jewish book it's Gentile apparently he's gonna set Israel aside and reach to the Gentile but captain he made promises to the Jew breed on Spock okay and he reads on to a book called Apocalypto the Calypso the covers are pulled back apocalypse revelation captain behold the end of the book seven years on a suck egg mule ancient Vulcan statement when you're utterly baffled there it is Nate what's in it there you are you were a mystery we're waiting on the 70th week what are we doing right now God is calling out a people demonstrating his grace through those people heralding a message through those people amen and he is warning the world through those people there's a day coming and we are a people that have to do it when we're not the home team and that's why through every single country in every single place in all of church history these people the called out ones the church they have had to suffer and that's why they don't go through the 70th week because they're proving ground is right now will they take the hit that's who you can tell who's who when it hits the fan some guys run some guys stand that's the church well when will it begin verse 27 and he will make a firm covenant with the many questioned who's the he verse 26 the prince who is to come and hey Antichrist the 70th week will begin when Israel puts its trust in God no a pagan they will trust you he will make a firm covenant with the many what's the many mean with Israel for how long look close first 27 for how long one week there's the 70th week of Daniel that covenant is going to be with Israel now let me ask you a question captain didn't we see in the preceding verse that Israel's going to be deported yes we did then how can he make a covenant with the apparently they're going to come back from exile again that's impossible did it happen 1948 no nations ever come out once Israel's come out three times and so Israel is now around to make a covenant is then what is he going to make a covenant to do in the middle of the week at three and a half years of a 7-year covenant he'll put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering what do you have to have to have sacrifice and grain offering you have to have a temple there is no temple there's the Dome of the rock that is put there like Ishmael in the face of Isaac a matter of fact there's Arabic on the Dome of the rock it says God is no father and he has no son so what's there and you're saying that a guy is going to come in and blow a whistle and say everybody out of the pool I'm gonna allow Israel to rebuild their temple right here on the Temple Mount do you think that's going to cause a little trouble how is one man going to be able to ensure peace apparently he is going to be in charge of an empire that is the revival of Rome when does the tribulation begin when Antichrist shows up and once the pin goes on that paper Theotis anti-christ that's his first name and then Israel now that 70th week begins when Ana Christ comes the Bible says Antichrist will take a seat in the temple of God displaying himself as God there's got to be a temple question is where are we gonna be during this time well let's keep watching right here in verse 27 in the middle of the week at three and a half years he'll put a stop to sacrifice and rain offering incidentally why would Israel need one to give them the ability to build the temple is Israel a little bit surrounded by enemies you know how many more Muslims there are around Israel than there are Jews 800 times more Muslims than Jews and the Muslims are saying Israel has too much land we want their land Ishmael has always hated I said how dare Isaac called himself the chosen son when we are the chosen and so whenever this Antichrist is going to be seen as you know the times man of the year he's going to make peace he's like a prince at peace the temple goes up no one goes on that Temple Mount but the Jew how well did you see him Hosanna but then in the middle of the week he'll put a stop to it you know why because he's going to make himself God and demand that he be worshipped and if anybody does not bear his mark his image they cannot buy or sell and he will put them to death there will be idolatry the image of the beast there will be an abomination and if you don't submit there will be desolation and that is why he is called the abomination of desolation you must worship this man or you will die well but as soon as this happens and incidentally Antichrist is going to do what Satan always does he's always like the witch and Hansel and grettel he promises you a house of sweets then he puts you in the oven every man serves the good wine first then when that it was all this drunk then that which is worse first you get your tongue numb through you know the good stuff and then here comes Mad Dog for tea mogen David twenty20 don't look at me like you don't know what I'm saying that's always the way Satan works I'll give you the pleasure of sin but first season and then it's mad dog forty how does God do you've saved the best until last first there's the cross then there's the crown and so he's gonna lie to Israel because he's satanic and he lies and then he destroys if you won't submit to his lie and so on the wing of abominations wing meaning he comes quick of abominations you will worship Him comes one who makes desolate he will kill you if you do not bear his mark when did this happen before oh yeah you pray to another God you go in the lion's den you don't worship the image you go into the fiery furnace here we go again Babylon is back and if so he will make desolate until it's not going to go on a complete destruction one that is decreed is poured out on the one who makes desolate who's the one who makes desolate Antichrist somebody from above is coming down and is going to slay him by the breath of his mouth and bring him to an end by the appearance of his coming and that one is called Jesus Christ the Messiah what do we see here Natan the 70th week the last seven years Antichrist 7 year covenant with regathered Israel to rebuild the temple at three and a half years he lies idolatry begins destruction begins Christ returns to end the 70th week and then we go into verse 24 the kingdom comes the kingdom of God where are we during this time incidentally does this text teach two comings of Christ think about it does it he comes to die and then he returns to save the chosen people kill him and the chosen people call out for him at the end of Matthew 23 Jesus says I long to take you under my wings like a hen would her chicks and you were willing and then he said your house is being left to you desolate you're all about to pack up and leave and you're not going to see me again I'm going away and you're gonna be darkened how many completed Jews do we have among the 2500 here any not one one token Jew bless your heart we have got one Jewish believer among 2,500 of the canary on the dogs how did that happen you're not going to see me there's going to be desolation and darkness but he says you're not gonna see me until you say something when you say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord that's from psalm 118 about the Davidic King someday you're gonna be surrounded by armies and you're gonna lift your eyes to heaven and you're going to say blessed art thou Lord Jesus come and save our chicken or something like that get us out of this mess desolation darkness and a return Matthew 23 so there's a first coming of Christ and a second coming of Christ What's in between the age of grace where you see the work of God using an evil thing as a good thing like Samson's Riddle out of something bitter comes something sweet we get to Harold to a world that time clock has jammed with a cross in it for 20 centuries and we have heralded to the world he is who is he's come in when he says he's going to come back to his chosen nation pimp and believe if you were God would your Bible have been this thick would you have been twenty centuries of patience you wouldn't have but he is now where are we during this time stick with me we're not in this text we are in verse 26 be when Israel is deported we are implicated that God will now give the gospel to us but when verse 27 hits the fan of judgment on Israel the 70th week of Daniel the Tribulation the time of Jacob's trouble we're not here because the purpose of the Tribulation Period is twofold to bring Israel to its knees the book of Deuteronomy says God will come when their strength is gone to bring Israel to its knees that's why between revelation 6 and revelation 18 the tribulation the word church is never mentioned Israel is mentioned God is renewing his purposes with Israel the church isn't Israel the 70th week of Daniel focuses on Israel we are not Israel that's why we're not there and the 70th week of Daniel is punishment on a world for its rejection of God that's not us God hath not destined us for destruction but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ question so how're we gonna get out of this I'm glad you asked Paul said I tell you a mystery we shall not all die really but we shall all be changed in the twinkling of an eye when you see something in a Adam a Tom Tom means to cut our tongue means unable to be divided an Adam in a moment this corruption will put on incorruption this mortal will put on immortality and we shall be changed it's when the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout the voice the Archangel the trumpet of God let's go home and the dead in Christ their bodies will rise first because they got six more feet to go they come up you reunited with their eternal soul and there is a resurrection body then we who are alive shall be caught up our PA zo harp putt so harp means to pluck you ever play the plucker the harp where you pluck all right that's what the word is shall be caught up plucked the latin is the word in rep they shall be raptured and taken away to glory even that fantastic do I understand that no does the Bible give us a whole lot of information on it no because it's over our heads he says you just trust me I'm not gonna destroy Sodom Gomorrah till I get a lot out not gonna take down Jericho till I get Rahab out I'm not gonna take the old world tell to get everybody in that boat and Enoch going Methuselah dies and Noah gets in I'm not going to shoot through my wife to get the culprit I'm gonna take her out so does the church go through the tribulation no of course not it's for Israel in the world God has commanded all men to repent having fixed today in which you will judge the world through his son we believed we are not destined for the wrath of God and we're not Israel that's why if the Bible did not teach about the rapture you would have to assume one would happen but it does when does the rapture occur that's why we're not in revelation 6 through 18 we don't appear again until revelation 19 when Christ returns with his bride and fine linen bright and clean are you gonna see the trick are you gonna see the second kind you're gonna be the second kind you afraid of heights afraid horses all right so we're coming now let me ask you something I'm giving an oral on this you just respond yes or no if you get the wrong answer we throw you out was God true yes or no about babylons fall to persia yes was God true about Persia's ascendancy over the Medes yes was God true about Israel's return to the land to rebuild in 445 yes was God true and speaking of the rising of Greece to judge the Persians was God true about a first King Alexander was God true about him being broken off in his youth yes was God true about his kingdom would be split up among four generals yes or no yes was God true and a little horn the Antiochus persecution for 2300 days was God true was God true that there would be a cleansing of the temple and the Makka bein revolt and Israel would be restored was that true yes was God true about the coming of an iron Legion called Rome yes and then was God true to the day about the coming of Christ and was he true about his being killed and put to death yes was God true about Israel's henceforth destruction was he true that the Romans who did not exist when he said it that the Romans would do it yes was he true and his implication that some day Israel after the Romans would return to the land and that they would be under great duress yes and is there a chance he is true when he says there is no other way by which men will be resolved and reconciled to God but by the death of Christ you think he's going to be true about the 70th week I think he is if he has been if you counted him about 20 out of 20 you think he'll be true one more time why don't you put your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior if you're a non-christian you're going to go to hell with a working knowledge of Daniel 9 you know how big a fool you're going to be God can't make it any clearer to you than what he has done that's why when I finished study on this in seminary I sat there and looked at my Bible and I said this is the Word of God and one of my buddies when I talked to him in the program named Brad Bell he went outside and he trusted Christ again he said God if it wasn't this God that I prayed to I'm praying to you now all we needs a hymn will pray for a reverse rapture and that musicians will show up right our Heavenly Father and our God we love you indeed did Jesus say you guys can observe the heavens but you can't observe the signs of the times it's clear as a bell it's right here trust me I am sovereign and father starting next week when we as a church take apart revelation the 70th week of Daniel and as we bring that microscope up close and we see what's going to happen to them indeed you give us comfort as Paul said that we look forward to the Blessed and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior God we're gonna win I'm 67 maybe I go to 80 I don't care I'm with you I am held in God's unchanging hand that you selected me in these in this age of grace to be voices to the world bless you in Jesus name Amen this is a hymn where you got to sit down I need Opie and Aunt Bea right here this is a ham written in 1868 by a fellow named Horatio Palmer back in the 1800's the Catholics had tried to bring in the kingdom through the Middle Ages 1800 1700s the Protestants were trying to bring it in not through the regimen of Catholicism but through moral conversion by temperance by women's suffrage a removal of by penal reform by the League of Nations by whatever we could do by abolishing slavery by industrial reform all these kind of things because the message of the Protestants was not like the Catholics where they preached the Pope it was the preaching of the rebirth the conversion under Jesus and it began the holiness movement this hymn is written in 1868 and it shows you what people were singing back a couple of hundred years ago the hem is almost corny because of its purity and of its longing to me but it's him anyway you can't remember I can't either it's real good boy / a real healthier yes you healed not to temptation have you heard the chorus gimme a gimme ask the Savior to help you comfort strengthen and key is willing to you he carry you through here we go he'll not to take that might stop I just messed it up back it up again yield not to temptation [Music] yes said [Music] victory will help some there - when fights manually onward dark bashes [Music] last the city where its strength as well [Music] you through [Music] mr. [Music] name [Music] that's the same strength yes [Music] as I say [Music] Comfort strength [Music] Heavenly Father we find ourselves in hard times when men scorn our Christ and assail his ways when we are not the home team we can't return on the TV we can't look at the movie we can't listen to a comedian we can barely watch the news our kids need to be protected in schools God it is a dark day we have rejected you and we have filled the vacuum with wood and stone and man and our tower that has brick for stone and tar for mortar God it is crumbling as we speak but we have a temple that will not fail a house that will not fade away a house that when the winds rise and the floods rush that it will stand because it's built upon the rock and so like Daniel of old as kingdoms fall find us with our eyes glued to the page and may we Herald to a world gone mad that there is truth as we open revelation next week thrill our souls with what no man knows and we'll ask it through Christ our Lord and all God's people said amen you
