Beauford alabama oops I'm sorry Georgia it's over there somewhere anyway they went and started a whole missions Church there also then she accepted the Dean of music position of Dean of Music at JCM and stayed there from 1994 to 1998 they passed her in Bryan Texas for six years and now she travels across the whole United States teaching choir clinics and music conferences and something about this lady you've heard about dynamite coming in small packages last night sister Granquist said whether it's sister Granquist that said they found something to do and did it with all their heart she found something she does very well and she does it with her whole heart there's not being one music conference that I've sat in her class that I left feeling like I couldn't do it I couldn't do a better job she always stressed excellence in whatever we do but she also gave us the tools that she had to help us be successful in what we were doing she does it with all of her heart and there's one thing she was born in Indiana and she kept straying she'd come to Texas for a while and then she'd go to Georgia and then she went back but God always brought her back to Texas sister Cooley we're glad you're in Texas and we're glad you're here with us today well it is so good to be with all of you today thank you to everyone who had a part and putting this all together and I just learned I'm 44 and yes I do I have a six year old in the eight year old now cheers just had a birthday in February and so my arms for some reason they're not growing longer and I I when I look at a piece of paper I I hold it back a little and then I hold it back a little further and I hold it back a little further and I keep doing this and they told me that's trombone practice I didn't realize that but this is trombone practice doing this so my arms aren't going in longer so I decided that I would just grab a pair of glasses today so that I could see my paper and I thoroughly enjoyed being with just women I know last night I saw a bunch of a men and men speakers and I was like man I don't know you don't have to be married long to know that there are distinct differences between men and women but for me I've had to be married a whole long time to appreciate and love those distinct differences between men and women and there are just some things you can't say when there's a bunch of men around y'all might want to get on up in the crow's nest up there and so I'm just glad there's no men except for the bass and drummer and then sound tech that is wonderful I'm so glad about that but you know women are special and they're so resilient and they get so much done in a couple of years ago my son Hunter he was in sunday-school class um we base out of I actually team teach Sunday School I don't I'm not the main teacher I just like provide the snacks and clean up the room and do all this stuff at brother Crosswhite church on Sunday mornings and so sister Melinda was teaching the Sunday school class and at that time Hunter was five and so sister Melinda was teaching on creation and she began by saying this she said now on the first day of creation children God made the heavens and the earth and and then on the second day divided the light and the darkness and on the third day God divided the waters in the land on the 14th he had the grass and it hurts and on the fifth day God made the Sun and the moons and the stars and the water creatures and kids on the sixth day what did God create to take care of everything and Hunter raised his hand he said a woman a me and sister Melinda kind of looked each other and we meant yeah you're right hunter you're right you got it right man I'm telling you it is the gospel truth but you know you have to live a while to know absolutely how resilient and how perseverant persevering women can be today I was specifically asked I was given a subject to speak on praise and worship before I do that because I feel like it is a a wonderful tool in living for God it is ammunition to fight with to fight the enemy to overcome your own self but I want to give you a little carnal ammunition because before I get into what I want to speak about carnal ammunition now this is Caron okay some carnal ammunition to fight with you know how when you buy a new dress or you I don't know how you do it but when I buy something new you kind of leave it in the trunk maybe two two months you know then you move it to the closet for a month so that when you get done your husband comes out and goes well is that noon you're going well Lord no I've had this three four months my goodness you know what are you thinking and so anyway there was this lady and she had bought her new dress you know but the problem is her husband had flipping through the checkbook and saw the cheque where she had written a check for $200 to Dillard's and he said he's from and then he said dear Lord in heaven he's in the living on what in the world are you thinking what is this $200 check to Dillard's for it and and she said well honey I bought a new dress I was needed you bought a new dress for $200 I can't baby I needed I needed me a new dress and I yeah I'm sorry I did it and he said I cannot believe that you bought a new dress you paid 200 well honey she said I'm sorry I just needed a new dress really really bad I I'm sorry um the devil made me do it and he looked at her and he said well did you tell the devil Satan get thee behind me and she said I sure did and he said it looked as good from behind as it did from the front now I don't I don't agree with blaming everything on the devil either sister Miller except for something like that but today I'm going to give you the key to why I am living for God with my whole heart I am going to give you the key today of why I'm standing behind this pulpit today today I am going to give you a tool that can keep you living for God it's not the only tool it's just one tool there are many tools I'll tell you some of the tools that I had I had a great home church that I was raised in I had an awesome revival church that I was raised in that was a wonderful tool for my life and living for God I also had the Word of God daily in my life not because I read it I don't read the Bible most kids don't read the Bible guess what most teenagers don't read the Bible every day I didn't read the Bible every day but I had a mother that was a studier of the Word of God so I had the Word of God in my life every day through my mom I also had another great joy I had prayer not because I prayed when I was a kid I didn't pray all prayed over my food I did what I'm supposed to do even as a teenager I didn't faithfully just intercede but I had a mother that prayed and prayed and prayed so I had that tool but I also had an example of a praising worshiping live active mother in my life now so out of all four of those tools I'm going to share with you today what was probably the main force the number one sustaining power from my childhood all the way through my teenage years up until where I am at today because growing up at five six seven eight nine years old I couldn't read I couldn't read the Bible if I could have I wouldn't understood understand the thing I don't have for you understand it even now when I read it so I the Word of God didn't benefit me as much of reading the Word of God at seven and eight nine years old I couldn't at five six seven eight nine ten twelve water I said my prayers when I was towed to before I ate my meals before we went to bed before we woke up but at five six and seven years old one thing I did have was breath in my body and at five six and seven years old I was actively taught and involved in let everything that hath breath praise the Lord so that's what I want to talk to you that today is praise and worship and and there very distinctly different but they are intertwine a bowl they go they go hand in hand a lot of ways we have got to understand what our function is when it comes to worship you must understand what your function and your purpose is when it comes to worship because you're making a casserole once a month for your ladies meeting are you teaching Sunday School are you hostessing or running the sound or answering or playing and singing is only one piece of this puzzle so let's get a basic understanding first on worship and then let's see how we fit into this whole this whole aspect of this whole thing now listen I know you're but when I say I'm gonna preface this because I don't want you to go she is that she's just a carnal musician that's all she is her just a con real singer that's just she just Lucifer personifies all she is no I will tell you this this this little first part that I'm fixing to tell you came from my husband all right who is a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal church all right so this did not come from me I got this out of his notes it's great to be able to get notes from your husband okay I got this from him my husband used to say this all the time he just picked it up because everybody else said it before him and this is what he would say you've probably heard it your pastors probably done it he has done it when he was pastor and he has done it all over till one day God spoke to him and said wait a minute what are you saying now I ask you how many of you ever heard this cliche now we're coming to the most important part of the service but preached were to God oh you've never heard that oh my lord well my husband said oh now we're coming to the most important part of the service the preached Word of God well let me ask you this what is preaching preaching his ministry to who who say it you all what she just did was for you all all right what I am doing is for you all preaching is ministry to people it's God's Word it doesn't do anything for God the word is God now what is worship worship is ministry to who God can you say that ministry to people is more important than ministry to God no they go hand in hand you wouldn't want one without the other why because the worship kind of prepares away it kind of rolls out the red carpet kind of paves the way if the worship service is not effective it limits the potential of the Word of God now I didn't say it limited the Word of God I said if the worship service is not effective it limits the potential of the Word of God why because we're good ground it could fall on stony ground thorny ground or it can fall on good ground so you ladies you must understand the seriousness what these people did before sister Miller got up to speak was not just a time filler it was ministering to God you must understand the seriousness of the worship service so you can take your part that you play in it on that pew as extremely vital because many times we rush to the scene in the worship and we miss the value of what it can add in preparing the hearts to receive the Word of God you know we've done a lot of things out of tradition quite frankly a lot of things we do we picked up from the denominational world and we've just done a matter tradition we've all done things in our services just because everyone else did it before us and we have never stopped to question the function or the purpose of that thing in our worship and it's time for people who are true worshipers to examine what we do and why do we even do it why cuz we want to be effective I thought that was so funny Oh Lord Lafitte la I thought that was so funny when you were saying you don't even know you what you do why you do what you do and I thought about that story of the little girl she was sitting there and her mama was putting a ham in the pan and her mother cut the ends of the ham off so the little Suzie Jew says Miami why'd you cut the ends of the ham off there and you put it in the pan and mommy goes well you know Suzie I really don't know what my mother always did it won't you call granny and ask her why we cut the ends of the ham off so well Suzie Q gets on the phone she said granny mama was putting the ham in the pan and she cut the ends of it off and I was asking her why and she didn't know why she did it and she said for me to call you and granny's on the other end of the phone going well Suzie you know come to think of it I don't know why I cut the ends of the ham off when I put it in the pan I just did it cuz great Mimi did it all that time so won't you call great Mimi and ask her why we cut the ends of the pan ends of the ham off so Suzie cheese goes up great Mimi great Mimi mom I was putting a ham in the pan and she cut the ends of it off and she didn't know why she didn't she just did it cuz cuz grandma did so called grandma and grandma said well she don't know why she did it because you always did it mom great Mimi can you tell me why would cut the ends the ham off before we put it in the pan and great Mimi on the other line says well Susie my pan was too small nobody knew why they did what they did and we've all done things in our services just because everyone else did it before us and we've never stopped the question the function or that purpose and it's time for people who are true worshipers to examine what we do and why do we do it because we've got to be affected now I'm not telling you to go to your pastor and tell him hey we need to change this we need to change this but I will tell you this we need the power of God in our services to minister to the needs of people and what most churches have is just a ritual of doing things that is very limited in allowing people to feel God we need the power of God in our services to minister to the needs of people but what most churches have is just a ritual of doing things that's very limited in allowing people to feel God so we've got to seek to give the presence of God the opportunity to move in the service during this worship service during this music that's submitted to your pastor so the notion of someone getting up and singing three courses out of the songbook that is changing don't mean you got to do worship courses the whole time I like a little variety I don't like to eat broccoli every single meal I want the old I want the new I want it all but I will tell you this you can give it God and you can treat God to death and we have a lot of gimmicks and Pentecost and you can give the appearance of the power and it really not be there well how do you know that you want to know why because I've experienced it and I have done it I have manipulated people before and I'm speaking to you through my own experience and as a worshiper of Jesus Christ and that's the authority that I come to you with because I have been there so I'm gonna talk to you about being a worshiper first so let's go back to Jesus because Jesus is our role model and if Jesus is not your role model or at least someone that imitates Christ isn't your role model then you're off the wrong track to begin with we have judged a lot of people in the charismatic world or the megachurch world whatever you want to call it we have judged them and I hate to tell you this but there are a lot of people in our churches who have the same mindset that we judge all the charismatic in the megachurch world with a lot of churches are simply interested in moving a crowd there is absolutely no relationship and you can see it in the charismatic world but in the problem is it's in our churches also they want people to shout when they sing and I will tell you this the power of God is not to be manipulated and you can see people who manipulate a crowd it's called crowd response I didn't know this but I have a friend I'm not gonna say their name you would know who they were well all of y'all would know who it is but he took a class a psychology class at college and do you know they actually taught a thing called crowd hypnosis crowd hypnosis you would know what the definition of that was they seduce a crowd by earthly ways to bring results crowd hypnosis is they seduce a crowd by earthly ways to bring results now if you remember in John 4 Jesus had left Judea and he said I must needs go through Samaria and when he did there was a woman at the well and Jesus asked for her drink and she said oh well wait a minute I'm a Samaritan and Jews have no dealings no dealings whatsoever with us and Jesus said said lady I will give you living water and she said oh well I want it and he said we'll call your husband she goes well I don't handle her be he said yeah you're right you've had five husbands and the one you're living with right now is not even your husband she went oh I perceive that you're a prophet then they went on to talk about worship and in John 4 21 the Bible reads and jesus saith unto her woman the hour cometh when ye shall neither at this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the father you worship you know not what we know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews but the hour cometh and now is when the true worshipers shall worship the father in and in for the father seeketh such to worship Him everybody say spirit and in truth now I don't understand why I didn't have a hold on this as a teenager or even in my 20s III have no idea I went to Bible College I guarantee people taught on it I know they did it was me I was thinking about something else when they were teaching it I'm sure it was there are three parts of us body soul and spirit everybody say that there's three parts of us body soul and spirit so we're God wants worship to occur is not in your body and it's not in your soul but it's in your spirit the very core of your existence then after you have contacted him in the spirit it filters up through your soul your emotions and outcomes this body thing you know there are three parts of us body soul and spirit so we're god what's worship to occur is not in your body and not in your soul but in the very core of your existence your spirit and when you have contacted him in the spirit it filters up through your soul which is your emotions and this outward manifestation which is this body thing it's really nothing more than a result of worshiping him in the spirit you look at Luke 10:27 love the Lord thy God with all thy heart are they soul of our mind all those strengths that covers the three areas of human existence now you can fake you can fake you'd make your body move in your spirit be completely out of contact you cry not be touched but your little vibrato in there I'm going to use that from the illness that's mine you cry not be touched you go through all the physical manifestations of the spirit e to not be there and that's not worship and you would think that that's obvious yet in many of our churches there are people who go through the motions and God for them is nothing but a fast song you can fake you go through all the physical manifestations of the spirit and it's not there that's not worship and you would think that is obvious yet there are many people in our churches who go through the motions and God for them is nothing but a fast song because that's all they know of him because that's all the experience because of no spirit connection and then there are those people that God is nothing for them but a slow song and you try to pull them out of that mode and they just freak out you try to show them God in a different side and they're terrified because that's not God to them the bottom line is you should worship in spirit and in truth and you know what spirit is the inner man and truth when you look it up in this passage in the scripture when you look it up in the original text the Greek word I didn't get this from this one me this is from my husband because I didn't know I was like going all my life I thought truth what must be this precious one God message he said he has got this one God measured you look it up in the original Greek the word is Alafia which means honesty truthfulness oh lord I don't like that at all don't dare dig into don't don't find out no no no no no in other words when you worship in spirit and in truth you worship in the inner man and you worship in honesty in truthfulness honesty tells God where you're at where you wish to be and if you're tired you admit you're tired you're honest with God you're truthful with God why because you want to be a true worshiper and to be a true worshiper you got to worship in which is the inner man and which is honesty honesty demands if you mess up you fess up god I feel like scum today I'm telling you them kids are driving me nuts and if Brett says that one more time to me I am going to smack him clear across the room the car has broke down we owed this on the bill we owe this on the bill but I have come into your house and I am gonna worship you in spirit engine what you know that's why you have the prayer room before service I thought you pray before service it to get down and be honest with God he knows where you're at anyway he wants to make you better he knows where you're at and where you wish to be now I want you to understand how music how everything that they did before the speaker gets up here how this all fits in and where you play a vital part everybody say music is a tool well I'm not a music person no I know you're not I realized that but every single service let me ask you this music is heavily emphasized in our churches we we have it before the preacher and what does the preacher say when he's fixing to close his message musicians come yes you are a major part of it every single service everybody's saying music is a tool now it's only one of them music is a tool of worship now worship is much more than praise get this worship is much more than praise worship is deeper than praise when you worship with the inner man you worship in honesty and that's a type of attitude you've seen people with snobby attitudes and critical critical attitudes and humble attitudes worship is your worship in honesty it's a type of attitude what is worship worship is obedience and Submission it is an attitude if you could see the physical position that was most likely manifest to worship if I was approaching royalty my countenance my my composure my look would be like this I am bowing I am worshipping and when you worship God your spirit and your attitude should be one of them yes your majesty oh yes your majesty submission and obedience now praying praise is just a manifestation of worship we'll use to enhance all of this praise is a manifestation this is how the dancing in a shout then the screaming in a clapping and a weeping praises this outward manifestation this demonstration this the show this materialization this presentation praise is just a manifestation of worship and music is a tool used as a tool of praise praise is not worship because David said let everything that has breath but everything that breeze does not worship God praise is just a reflection of my submission of my worship it was probably been 15 years ago it may have been longer than that I'm not sure but I was in Elizabethtown Kentucky and we were doing like a little mini music conference thing and but the pastor's neighbor came she was sixteen years old she had never been to Napa truck service in her life and and I was singing at night um I'm from Indiana upper room experience I don't even know if they exist anymore but anyway they used to be a group long long time ago and Janice was singing that night and I mean here's this sixteen year old girl she's on the second row and never been in a Pentecostal service before in her whole life and so the service is hot and rocking man we are dating a shouting in a sort and a bucket of Slaton and doing all kinds of stuff and everything and so here's this little girl in the second row going well my lord Janice is feeling good she knows God wants to do something when he's in the house and everything and she sees this little girl out there and I mean what's that say she was so expected she was just like so Janice the Bible says let everything have breath praise the Lord and James knew this little girl had some praise to give she was just looking for somebody to invite her that's all it was so Janice went down there and asked her said hey you want to dance she said yes good now the hand they saw there and they dance they dance and they dance and they did and that little girl walked out war Janice out now what happened everything that had breath was praising the Lord but eventually that little girl probably became a true worshipper you want to know why because she was honest enough to admit she wanted something her spirit was crying out for communion with or she would have never come in the first place all we saw was the praise this outward thing but something else was going on down deep down inside of her now I want to explain to you the way that I was raised because you're bi now you're going my lord I'm not sure if she believes in dancing and Shelton and I'm gonna tell you right now Mikey I want to explain to you the way that I was raised I want you to understand the overcoming victory for my life and why I'm standing here today my dad is not in church my dad has never been in church my dad is still not in Church of this day my mom and dad are still together you don't just divorce just cause one's living for God won't ain't living for God they're still together okay so at four or five my mom got in church now I want you to understand so that you don't think my dad is just some horrible horrible person my dad is a sinner he does not have the Holy Ghost he don't see you to hold it goes eyes he don't give a rip about all this kind of stuff matter of fact he is anti-god basically I don't know if my dad even believes there is God my dad is very slick Matic he's very laid-back I mean don't don't think that he's like some goody two-shoes just cuz they're laid-back let me tell you laid-back people come out of the closet when they need to and he's very very laid-back you know and just he's a kind that like if the house was burned on fire he'd be going man the house is on fire you know it just doesn't get a sight but what's so what's so scary about that is nothing excites him and nothing moves well I won't say nothing excites him he's a man okay we understand that but I'm just saying you know he don't he does since it's his temperament I'm just saying he's very very laid-back and um and so well that just got me way off track he is very very laid-back so in other words he is in need of nothing sister Miller if he if he lost everything and it's very contented and he had to live on the street well that would be okay too it's all right but in that type of attitude he just feels he has no need for God you know you got to know you need God and he feels like he has no need for God so I don't know if he believes in God or not or whatever but anyway so my mom gets in church when I'm about four or five years old so you want stand they don't know dancing together anymore they don't go drinking together anymore there's so much of their lifestyle that was completely cut off so much of their relationship because they're doing separate things now alright so here we are and and I'm growing up I'm now we're going to church every service in Indiana we go to church Sunday morning Sunday night Tuesday night and Thursday night back then that since then they've all switched to Wednesday night but back then it was Tuesday night and Thursday night did y'all have Tuesday and Thursday night back then or did oh really man y'all still carnal even way back then but that's amazing we had to church on Tuesday night and Thursday night and so anyway here we are growing up and I can vividly remember I mean when she got in church he tried to set her hair on fire she started letting her hair grow so he decided I school set her set her hair on fire I can vividly remember one Sunday morning just like it was yesterday while he's in the shower mom looks at me and says now didi Shin come on we'll just go ahead and sneak on out he's in the shower so we get in the car and she's revving it up and here comes my dad barely with the towel around him about stark-naked picking up rocks and he's just falling him at the band I mean thought about the car and throw him and throwing him and throwing him and my mom said no didi yeah y'all get out of the car y'all got a car so we got out of the car and my mother put that car in reverse and she floored it she wrapped it in the telephone pole and then she put it back in Reverse and she floored she rammed it in the telephone pole now I'm not saying she's a good witness I'm just telling you exactly what happened but watch what happened she gets out of the car now I know what you're thinking cuz this is what a lot of women do go in the house no my mother looked at us and said now let's go in the house and we're gonna call cricket and Willie walleston and we're gonna have him come pick us up for church so cricket and Willie come pick us up for church and we walk into the church house and here is my mother during service every service when the music starts you know when it's God time not when it's me time when it's God time oh god you're good Oh God you're great oh god I love you Oh God your arm awesome well what does that do to a six and seven-year-old child sitting there looking now wait a minute you just rammed our into the telephone pole and y'all just had a cousin out and all hail has just broke loose and you're saying God's good God's great God's good okay that's fine so we spend the day with Crick and Willie so we can go to church that night and we go to church that night and here's my momma when it's God town oh god you're good oh god you great oh god you're awesome okay so we go home all right we go through this every single service fighting tooth and toenail to get to service I'm seven and eight years old and all I know is a mother that comes into church going oh you're good oh god you're great and she's a dancin and she's a snortin and she's a snot and everything when most women after three and four years of doing something like that and the one is amazing is nobody in the church knew about all that mess she didn't go telling them I didn't have time not during worship service at least tickled I will tell you this you always stay in the same condition you're in if you sit there you have a single service and go so here I am you know I'm growing up and I'm 11 and 12 going my god you've had your hair set on fire you have ran the car to telephone pole and things that I cannot even begin to tell you and just a few years ago mom said oh she remember that night we were leaving for church and daddy was so fired up man and he took those scissors and he threw him far as he could and they barely missed your leg and they stuck in out of the noi'm floor and yes I do remember it now that she brought it up but the only thing I can vividly remember it's just going through hell and then going I don't love you god you're good Hales god I love you god you're gonna build your good hell again god I love you got your good god you're good salt and pepper shakers flying through my dad was bitter he's bitter so here I am at 12 and 13 you know that's when you start looking at boys and girls you start dating everything but you know what my mother has trained me since I was four and five years old I'll be the mama you be me okay but the thing is here I am four five six seven eight nine ten that means you of every service mama going Oh got your good got your grade well to a child that's fun to jump up and down did you know the kids like to jump up and down did you know the kids like to run my mama would take me if I have a hand and we would run the aisles together well that's fine four six and seven and eight nine ten year old kid now she didn't let me get out of hand but what what she's doing it's called training it's called training so here I am I'm 17 and 18 years old and I leave for Bible College now all this time all I know is you go through all this stuff but for some reason it don't defeat you isn't that weird how that happens for some reason everybody else around your backk slides and you're still going god you're good that's good and so I go up to Bible College I sit in David Bernard systematic theology you would think I know something about this one God message when you know I still couldn't tell you I told you there was one God but even at 18 years old I didn't know the Word of God I had not even really hidden in my heart he was not alive to me I've always struggled with understanding the Word of God always but in 18 years old I said yes there's one God but I couldn't have set you down and gave you a Bible study to explain the revelation of the Godhead for nothing at 18 years old but I can tell you what I could do is during that worship service and it's God time I'd be going oh god you're good god you're great got your good God you're great so I go through three years of Bible College I get out and graduate and I go back to Kentucky mama where's this one mama worse this one mama where's this one in my youth group mama where she wears this and this was done whacked out on some charismatic doctrine and this was then back slid and this was done just angle say what he's done and this was done this and I sit there and I look at her and I say now wait a minute I didn't have no dad and I went through pure you know what I didn't have no money I didn't have hardly anything what in the tarnation was the difference in me and in all of them and I will tell you for a fact the difference in every one of those young people in me was that my mother would come to service and when it was God time it was always oh god you're good I got you're great you're awesome oh god I love you I love you you listen to me sit down when all hell breaks loose in your family and you come to church and it's God time you don't do that do you understand what she did in training me that way so that when I'm 23 22 and I have boyfriend problems I have a little something-something come my way I don't just set up and backslide her get cold in the Lord because I've been drained since I was 4 or 5 years old during that God time you're doing this kind of thing you're worshipping in your loving God and then I'm 24 what did it teach me well they taught me when troubles are swirling around my head and I'm a church oh wait a minute there's a key we're a church let me tell you never never never ever miss Church never I have an article right here from the newspaper in 1994 you can come and read it after this we had church Sunday morning Sunday night Tuesday night Thursday night and we never I'm telling you unless I had a fever that was so contagious we never you hear me never he she didn't leave us home with my dad we never miss Church now look at this where you can't see nothing but you can look at it afterward we live on a 55 acre farm in the middle of the city New Albany Indiana it is surrounded by trees it's wonderful you go back Armstrong Road and then it opens up surrounded by trees right along Silver Creek it floods once maybe twice a year goes over the road which means we have no way out what we do is we have to get on a tractor get on a four-wheeler or walk or get on the bicycle whatever and we get on it and we go about quarter of the mile up the road to where the woods are at then you have to park your tractor your four-wheeler get off of it walk I don't I'm not good at measurements you have to walk through this cemetery gate and walk a little bit in the cemetery to your parked cars so in other words when the water is rising we my mom's a school bus drivers but it's close driver for 35 37 or some like that she pulls out the bus parks it in the cemetery goes all around the city and parks it up at the cemetery up there we take our cars out we park them up at the city the the cemetery up there because when the water gets over the road we have no way out sounds like a good excuse to me to miss church we are it's flooding did you know that I'm from the north I'm from the north and we have four seasons Texas has hot hotter and you know what but in the north we have for pure seasons we have winter it turns into spring it goes into summer yeah it didn't happen overnight and then we have fall beautiful leaves we have brown and then dark brown and dad down here just dead I mean it's getting a little green now but anyway I said all that to say this when we were blocked in at least once or twice a year my mother and don't you think he didn't give her fits then are you crazy it's snowing outside Twi'lek you're gonna load them up on a tractor it's driving a quarter of a mile and in the dark walk through the cemetery and get in your vehicle and go to church yes I am yes I am so what does that teach a child when you never miss church no matter if it's snowing up to here and we would walk through that cemetery and the snow would be deep because we had to put our boots on and then take shoes to change at the church and you'd go like this and you go oh my foot came out of the boot that's stuck in the snow I've got all those incredible wonderful memories of my mom making it to church come snow rain high water and so what did it teach me well it teach me is when you have a fight or an argument with your husband or you know the way me and my husband we call it intense fellowship that's what we have I know y'all never had intense fellowship with your sweetheart but you know what this is what it taught me when you have intense fellowship with your husband do you backslide no do you miss church no do you divorce no it's not an option you go to church and you go oh it's God time oh god you're good oh god you're great oh god you're awesome my goodness ladies do you think me and brother Cooley always get along I'm telling you right now he still will not obey me still so what I got bills I don't know where the money's coming from oh it's God time oh god you're good Oh God you're great oh my kids they caused all kinds of trouble they're not living for God it's God time Oh God you're great so in other words during my mind my little child my my little teenage mind I'm thinking the minute you walk through those doors it's not about you honey it's about God and you know what's amazing it's when you always have that mindset it's real hard to buck so hot it's so hard it's so hard when you stop thinking about everything's going on in your life and how great God is Oh sister Cody my health so bad oh let me tell you something I know you can't get off that chair your health bed well why don't you do sister roads roads are you in here are you in here somebody yell if she is okay she can't get out her wheelchair why don't you do a little pair Pam room and something you got helping your body in two legs and you can't run the house and you can't dance and you can't shout to a good god pick your feet up and giving some breath why don't some of you dance for sister Rhodes why don't some of you leap for Joan for sister Rhodes touch my sister she can't even stand up but every fiber of her being with her hands you know the least you can do is nod your head okay you can be seated so what so what did you teach me well it's just I mean just don't ever give up on God when you're giving all this God time itself like that you know we'll put God on probation I love this statement well sister Cooley I'm just not emotional oh really you got kids don't you I'm just not emotional and you got three or four little kids there and I look at those kids and I want to go lady you got emotional sometime in your life cuz you don't have kids like this now you get emotional Wow it just depends on what you want to get emotional about so I was taught and I watched this concept in action and I tell you what that's why I'm standing here today you think my mom felt felt like praising the Lord if you had your hair set on fire you think she felt like it you don't go on your feelings what's the Bible say the Bible says your heart is deceitfully wicked who can know it and I know women are very feely people but you don't go on your feelings you go on what you know what you know and listen this is what you know you act you act your way into feeling you don't feel your way into acting cuz I tell you what this morning if I went on my feelings you know what I feel like this is what I feel like well I feel like going back to bed oh I feel like going back to bed that's what I feel like sleeping in the morning sleeping all day long well I feel hey if you don't wanna sleep don't you hinder me Wow if you don't wanna sleep that's what I feel like doing that's why you don't go on your feelings you go on what you know got your good got your great thought your good got your great let everything I praise Allah make a joyful noise unto the Lord all you lands serve the Lord with gladness come the forest percival singing now he that's the Lord he is God it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves we are his people and the Sheep of his pasture enter into his gates with Thanksgiving and into his courts with praise be thankful unto Him the Lord is good and His mercy is everlasting his truth and dirt - oh right sure for God has not go on what I know God has given me the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound the Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid Rinda whit God even my enemies and my folks came upon me to eat it my first a stubble they fell though and host should encamp against me my heart shut up here though watch surprised against me in this will I be confident one thing one thing one thing one thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek a true that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord to enquire his tipple for in the time of trouble for in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his Pavilion in the secret place of his tabernacle shotty hide me he shall set me up upon a rock and now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me therefore when I offer in this Tabernacle sacrifices of joy I will sing yea I will sing praises unto below if you don't get anything out of this you act your way into feeling you do not feel your way into acting you may be seen it so the spirits in you at birth and it longs to have communion with God beyond whether you feel him or not it's down deep way down deep and when you worship in the inner man you're so longs to express its praise and when you're really worshiping God you don't have to search for praise it just comes and it flows and you know what new converts have taught me that here's the shell of a man who doesn't know God Almighty God comes down wraps his arms around him puts his marriage back together gets his daughter off drugs gives him a child back do you think he's got to search for praise no it just comes and it just flows and guess what I think the ultimen give me the kid D flat I think the ultimate ultimate happened it's been like five six years ago in Bryan Texas and it was on it was on a Sunday morning strike one it's a Sunday morning strike two it's a slow song and I was just up there singing Here I am to worship Here I am - now watch my face bow down Here I am to say that you're my god oh my goodness there goes Missy Riley and her four-year-old four-year-old little girl running the house well what's she thinking it's Sunday morning I'm singing a slow song you're altogether lovely there she goes Oh - and there's dawn Crocker back there and his Jesus snakeskin boots going I'm singing a slow song now that worshipping and praising God Here I am - you gotta have a beat you gotta have a beam isn't it amazing you'll dance over something so corny and stupid it stinks or something of Maine like if you sing it that's fine I'm not I'm not down and you keep singing a proper fixin to run it for you Jake says so no money tell me what you want what you want it's all about you tell me what you want Kali ma tell me much a couple I want a pepperoni pizza with anchovies and mayonnaise and green peppers and tell you about you what and nod they'll be bucking in a snorting and it's not in everybody screaming and slain slaying the spirit and then you'll sing a simple song like I mean something goofy like and then you'll sing amazing grace that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I'm found what's blood and everybody's like dancing on that one you won't know why because there's not a beat to it that is the only simple reason that you are not dancing before the Lord Oh Polly Polly mum Wow we just go nuts over something so goofy is that it is the beat I'm telling you I don't know anything about Mariah Carey all I know she lives in a godly lifestyle because when I go through the Walmart lines I have to keep my children's heads turned so that they don't see the filthy ungodly magazines that are lined up there and I'm constantly talking to Hunter hunter isn't this cute would you like to help me put the groceries out there trying to keep his his um his vision off of all the filthy magazines that are there and the whole time I'm telling you so I know Mariah Carey lives an ungodly lifestyle because I've seen it on those magazine covers and I will tell you this I have her Christmas CD and she is one of the most incredible singers but it's Mariah Carey got up and sang the national anthem I would get chill bumps from the top of my head to the sole of my feet but that's not the Holy Ghost that is music moving you emotionally and that's why whenever you think here I am to ship someone can run the house on Here I am to worship someone can dance and shout that's the power of music what's the first thing you were taught in school ABCD efg hijk they didn't just hand you it five years old a list of letters and say now memorize this - and memorize it and you're going you don't have a clue what it is but if they put a little melody to it a b c d e G you learn every one of the letters of the alphabet that is the power of music and that is the power of what is so important when it's God time but it's a worship service in 1st Samuel this is the power at first Samuel 15 16 15 and 23 music was a tool to soothe the soul David played an evil spirit Flippen saw I'd give anything if I could play the piano in this evil spirit for my husband display but it don't happen like that but it happened for David and another tool of second Kings 3:15 a minister of God needed to prophesy and he couldn't quite get the words and you know what he said bring me a minstrel bring me a musician and when the musician played the presence of the Lord came why because this man needed a medium through which to bring the Spirit of God the Word of God how many times have you been in the depths of the stair and you couldn't remember a scripture to save your life but you could remember a song now I'm fixing to bring this to a close musicians do not have to come I want to talk to you about the dangers of all this listen to me closely and the reason I want to talk to you about the dangers is because this is what I travel around a lot I have seen it in this conference I have been amazed I was sitting on the platform normally I'm not here I mean normally I'm over there a lot of times but I'm not looking out there and I try not to look out there and trying to live on the Lord but I wanted to see something and after every song anymore it's this and there's nothing wrong with clapping I'm not saying that they're saying that but I see an extreme danger and I want to talk to you do you remember the priestly garment the priestly garments a tool of worship it's what the priests were when he went into the Holy of Holies and there was an ephod on it it was like this big like thing it was no more important than the whole tool of worship it was just probably a little flashy a little prettier because it had the 12 stones of the tribe of Israel on it the Bible goes on to say now that was just another piece of garment to the whole tool of worship but the Bible goes on to say that get in and his friends decided to improve on the ephod and the people brought their goal to me this gorgeous FIFA hood the Bible goes on to say that getting in his household went a whoring after it in other words the tool of worship became the object of worship and they lost it and just because some people have a more beautiful you father than others doesn't mean you go a whoring after it I don't care if it's the Sunday School Superintendent position that you want I don't care if it's a teaching Sunday school period I don't care if it's being the head hostess I don't care if you're gonna run be a sound woman and run the sound I don't care if it's playing and singing I don't care what it is you don't go a whoring after it because it is simply a tool to bring you into the presence of God the ephod is not gonna fix you it's not gonna heal you it's not gonna save you but the ephod is necessary to bring you into the Shekinah where you can get what you need the golden if I became a perversion in Israel because it was so beautiful they stopped worshiping God with it and started worshiping the object it became the object of worship instead of the tool abortion you don't get anything out of this I want you to stand you are not a crowd pleaser ladies odor new you're looking for him you're after the Shekinah glory of God what more could you want than the power of God that's going to set people free and it's not hope I'm gonna tell you you'll never be delivered from any of your situations but you can take all the phony you want but you give me Jesus any day because I know what he's in the house something's gonna happen he wants true worshipers he didn't say a good Sunday school teacher he didn't say somebody that could organize a conference he said I want true worshipers he didn't say something that could play well or sing well he didn't say someone who could make a huge potlucks and organize this he said he wanted true worshipers and everybody's going to get to see hear your song but that ain't worship everybody's gonna get to taste your casserole but that ain't worship everybody's gonna see your hostess and and your organizing everybody's gonna hear you seek speak but that ain't worship worship is what you do and nobody is looking you're listen to me your production your production is not your worship it's your alumnus and your one-on-one how do you think I get to know my husband it's waking up in the morning sitting down to drinking coffee and talking it's laying in bed at night talking about dreams and plans maybe starting another church what are we gonna do I don't know that's what I get to know him worship it's what you're doing no one's looking it's what's going on inside the Bible said Abraham took Isaac to slay him now he had some servants with him but what did what did Abraham say he said oh hold on hold on the lad the lad and I go yonder to work shop you tell me killing something you love on the altar is worship yes it is because when God commands and it's worship because worship is obedience yes your majesty your majesty yes your majesty then the ultimate the very ultimate is what you sing it's what you say it's what you do is because you heard his voice and ladies right now God has given you the ability you hear me God has given you the ability to come out of everything everything that is holding you captive by praising your way up clapping dancing your way out or like sister routes if you got to do this do this [Music] the victory is in your mouth the victory is in your mouth you sing until something happens do dance until something happens your praise until something happens you shout until something breaks I want you to come down here right now and you're gonna how want you to praise the Lord but if you've got any type of situation whatsoever and you have a made-up mind God can break that yolk right now you shout you dance you praise until something happens you don't have to have some beat you don't have that sub beat you lift up your heads let me get your praise the Lord magnify his name lets it glorify his name until something happens damn come on you can even work your way out down ladies move up [Music] move up ladies move up I need you to move all the way up to the front move up ladies all the way to the front come on get up move all the way up [Applause] [Music] you [Applause]
