Testing Abloy 342

Today I am testing the Abloy 342, with a diameter of 10mm and a chain with a diameter of 13mm. Let's see what happens. The bolt cutter I'm using is a quality product with a length of 900mm and two possible hardened blades. The blades i am using now are the hardest. We will try it now. But you shouldn't forget the price because this bolt cutter cost me more than 300€. Let's see what happens... Yes! I'm through. It was so easy. Okay, I didn't expect that it would be that easy to cut. Now let's try to cut the chain. "Does it work?" "Hmm!?" The chain has a minimal cut. But the bolt cutter didn't survive. If you look very closely you can see that it bent a little bit. Let's see what happens at the second try, after i changed the blades. The hardness of the blades stays the same. Let's see how it goes on the second try. "Does it work?" "Hmm. I don't know." I tried but the bolt cutter bent even more. It looks very bad. It looks like i only have two opinions: Either I'll throw the cutter away or I'll repair it There is no way i can repair the cutter by myself. Okay, in conclusion I'm very disappointed by Abloy. You shouldn't take offence at them because they don't actually say that the lock is resistant to bolt cutters. The cutter itself also disappointed me because a 300€ bolt cutter shouldn't just bend like this. The Chain. The Chain is quite interesting. You can clearly see that the manufacturer did a good job. It looks like very good quality. I personally can only recommend chains like this one. They are also selling it with a diameter of 11mm, 16mm and 19mm. The website is called "security of bikes". Well, I still don't know where to get a good padlock from. Thats it. Maybe until next time. I'm saying "maybe" because I don't want my wallet to suffer that much again. Bye!
