Tesla Model Y Performance 6 Months Later Review | Still the Best?!

shut up [Music] hello everyone this is FaZe and welcome to my channel where I go over all things Tech and EVS six months back I purchased the all-new 2023 Tesla Model Y and I immediately one week after uploaded my review getting my initial thoughts and now that it's been six months I'm coming back with an updated review talking about my experience the things I like the things I don't like and everything in between so before we begin with my updated review let me first quickly go over the Tesla that I'll be reviewing it's a Tesla Model y performance with a wide exterior and wide interior with 21 inch Performance Wheels so now that we've gotten that out of the way let's first start off by talking about design starting with the exterior regardless of the Year modeling purchase this model y looks identical to every other one out there Tesla is after all known for maintaining a consistent design and even after being on the market for a few years the model y remains quite unchanged the model wise contemporary and modern design makes for an attractive SUV as a performance model the model y comes with a Sleek carbon fiber spoiler adding a touch of aggression to this friendly looking SUV additionally Tesla displays a dual motor badge on the back and my personal favorite feature is the 21 inch Uber turbine performance tires with striking red calipers these tires give the car a significantly sportier and more aggressive appearance which I personally really admire lastly regarding the exterior I have a strong dislike where the highly transparent glass on the front driver passenger and windshield especially when paired with a white interior it does become very easy for people from a distance to see inside the car which compromises privacy the abundance of sunlight entering the cabin is another concern rendering the sun visor almost ineffective this is a recurring issue with all Tesla models including my model X to address this I got my windows tinted here at ap3 in Atlanta they did a fantastic job and I couldn't recommend me now I have linked their information in the description below go check them out now let's go over the interior upon initial inspection the interior of the model y Bears is strong resembling to its predecessor mostly carrying over the design from the model 3 sedan like the model 3 and previous model wise the interior boasts a simplistic and minimalistic layout centered around a sizable 15-inch infotainment display on the straightforward dashboard but now that I've been driving the model y for six months there are a few things I do wish it had despite being a premium vehicle I can't help but feel that the model wide lacks a full ring premium Ambiance Tesla's choice to rely heavily on plastic rather than incorporating more luxurious materials like leather leave something to be desired in comparison to other high-end electric vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Audi and BMW the interior experience in the model y can at times fuel somewhat lacking in sophistication I really wish Tesla had opted for features like an Alcantara headliner and ambient lightings enhance the overall interior Ambiance and Elevate the perceived quality of the car incorporating these elements could undoubtedly help improve the premiere of the vehicle and make it more of a compelling choice in the luxury electric vehicle Market while still maintaining minimalism the seats offer a pleasant and comfortable experience and one standout feature is the expansive all glass roof which not only adds to the overall Ambiance but also creates winners on August 31st now back to the review one decent Improvement found in the 2023 model Y is related to sound proofing a concern that affected previous models due to the extensive use of glass and plastic Tesla took steps to address this issue though not completely they opted to replace the plastic side moldings on the doors with more sound absorbent Alcantara moldings and switch the interior door panels with carpet material aiming to minimize noise intrusion beyond the noise reduction these modifications also impart a higher end phenial surpassing the previous plastic appearance this upgrade spans both in the front and rear doors and Tesla doesn't stop there they also utilize carpet on the sides of the seats closest to the doors further attributing to noise reduction and enhancing the overall cabin refinement now despite these improvements I still find the cabin noise to be an area that needs further attention particularly when driving on the highway or Interstate the noise level can be bothersome making it difficult to enjoy a peaceful drive without music or conversation with passengers to ground out the noise although the efforts to improve soundproofing are appreciated many model y drivers I have spoken to are hoping for an even more significant stride in reducing outside noise to elevate the model wise comfort and overall refinement further one aspect that generally impresses me about the model Y is a generous legroom in the back seats as a crossover it offers remarkable spaciousness in a class providing a comfortable experience for rear passengers however for those interested in the long range model Tesla offers an optional third row seats at an additional cost of four thousand dollars I must admit I have reservations about his practicality it is hard to Envision the Third grow providing adequate comfort and space for adults to ride in it comfortably as such it might be more suitable for smaller individuals children or occasional youth rather than accommodating full-size adults on a regular basis now let's go over infotainment and technology in the model y almost every function is managed through their large infotainment display that's in the middle of the dashboard everything from climate control to the speedometer is shown on this display the model y offers the same entertainment functions as all other Teslas including embedded Netflix Hulu and YouTube apps as well as video games perfect for killing time while waiting for the battery to charge at the public charging station and of course drivers are locked out of using these distractions while the vehicle is moving the navigation system is very nice and simple to use and it's actually so nice and fluid that it doesn't even make me miss Apple carplay which I really enjoyed on all my previous Vehicles I've driven before now before I talk about other features such as range and in cargo space I want to go over perhaps the most important thing the Driving Experience over the course of the last six months my experience with the model y performance has been nothing short of exhilarating it has managed to Captivate me to the point where on occasions I found myself favoring it over my model X this reference is not solely due to a newfound affinity for the model y but rather it's born in the inherent qualities that this performance variant brings to the table one of the standout features of the model y performance is its compact size which lend itself to a sense of agility and nimbleness that simply unmatched when compared to my model X this difference in size becomes particularly noticeable and rewarding especially when maneuvering through Urban environments however the true magic of this variant is Unleashed when you explore is driving Dynamics the handling prowess of the model wide performance is akin to that of a finely tools for sedan this is primarily attributed to its thoughtful League calibrated suspension and rocked it during response navigating Corners with this vehicle feels like a seamless dance the lower suspension facilitates a fluid and composed entry into Corners minimizing any end of hesitation beneath the hood you get a up speed capable of reaching 155 miles per hour and an acceleration from 0 to 60 inches 3.5 seconds surprisingly absence is the typical body roll that often plagues SUVs this translates to a level of stability that both impresses and reassures particularly when tackling corners or sudden changes in Direction in summary the Driving Experience offered by the model y performance is simply amazing next let's talk about rage this performance model gives an estimated range of 303 miles on a hundred percent charge obviously as Tesla recommends I charge it to 90 and get around 276 miles per charge lastly let's go over cargo capacity the model y serves up ample cargo space two Role Models have 30.2 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats and you have this nice slot that opens up where you can store additional thing it's pretty deep and it's great for additional storage also when you fold down the second row seats you then have a total of 72.1 cubic feet these figures are great for an electric SUV there's also a front trunk that measures 4.1 cubic feet in conclusion my thoughts haven't really changed much in the last six months when it comes to the 2023 Tesla Model white performance and that is a good thing because I loved it then and I love it even more so now it's one of the most efficient electric cars in the market no wonder this is one of the world's best selling
