Terraria's Randomiser Mod is Unsurprisingly Broken...

so it's been a little over two months since the launch of the t-mod loader 1.4 alpha and ever since that launch day i've been silently waiting for a singular mod to make its way to the alpha well in true chippy gaming fashion turns out that it was released but over a month ago yep today we're taking a little look at the randomizer mod this is a mod i took a look at over two years ago well almost two years ago and it's wild it's like terraria as you never knew it so what this does is well it does a lot of things it can randomize the name of items of npcs of weapon stats it can also change the weapon projectiles it can change their sprites it can change npcs projectiles shops and chess content and even world generation which i'm going to leave off for today i have checked this out before this is wild this is this is essentially not playable maybe we'll show it maybe at the end i'd like stick around till the end you'll have a little look at it it's it's strange it says you need a beefy pc well don't worry all right i got you covered i slapped my computer then just just for you so for today's video we're gonna need a brand new character uh and in the fashion of randomizing i'm gonna call my character this uh we're just jumbling up some letters all right and then also i'm gonna randomize my character now tell the truth i have never clicked this button before in terraria ever i've used the same looking character character i don't know what word i was going for there same looking character for 10 years so let's do it bam and you know what that is eerily similar to what i would make okay this video might actually be blessed uh so let's do this in classic mode and then we're also gonna need a brand new world for this as well so randomize the name the tropic of rats okay all right and randomize the corruptional crimson okay let's do it wait should we do expert let's do an expert all right so the world is almost done loading so we're about to see whether we're about to go into something quite blissful or an absolute train wreck uh i don't think that i i think someone's broken uh can you maybe tell a problem with my team on loader uh do you know what don't slap a bug report to the team on this one all right i was using a randomizer mod i'm essentially asking for things to break so it says that the world generated i'm not too sure if that's true let's try it the tropic of rats oh okay all right everything works everything works we've got trees we've got grass we've got wind blowing a breeze let's try chopping down the tree and we'll see if it's normal i like that on the far right we also have a pumpkin as well uh because it's halloween in terraria um this tree was made of trousers and nothing else literal trousers what trousers uh pile pure breastplate so this is gonna be a good little game okay you we need to find oh wait no wait all the all the sprites are different so i don't know what this is and i don't know what this is either this says breastplate it's it's not a breastplate it's also not trousers this is apparently a banner but it's really an acorn oh and this is really wood oh okay let's see how it works uh things have things have changed since i last played oh my god every time it goes into our inventory it changes sprite that is amazing okay what's this three made of chicken and chicken and purple dye ah yes my favorite acorns are now chandelier sticks this one's made of yo-yos this is gonna be fun it's gonna be fun because if you're a real terraria veteran like myself you know true true terraria talent right here you'll be able to point out some of these sprites and actually give their real names like those i think those are martian leggings are they actually martian leggings i don't really know oh my god look at him fiery's bow logan go on kill that slime please go on hit him with a sideways arrow oh god oh this is goofy oh this is really goofy okay i think we need to find chess loot because that's gonna be the funnest part like can you find a chest what's inside will it help you i tell you what let's put down a workbench let's make our own sword wooden sword or is it really one of these i i don't know um okay so everything seems normal are the stats the same the stats on this one seem to be changing a little bit it's not too sure of itself with this one okay let's try it against this apparently this is a vortex bat yeah close enough close enough we've got some solar yellow thank you you know what this is like this is like how i imagine people interpret me playing terraria like that what i'm saying but they've never seen terraria before sami are going oh yeah i've got some wood and i've got an axe and a chest and all people are hearing his ah yes wig statue wall bowl pile pure breastplate and um and a nimble copper pickaxe all sounds normal to me so it seems like this world has not blessed us with a natural cave entrance at least not this way uh maybe we can sort that out i think this might be might be something good okay let me just uh mine away with my uh see what what banner is that who knows what banner that is and it's mad because i know someone watching today will know what that is so if i hold shift okay that would have shown me if i had a torch so now i've actually got real torches so what any of these are i have no idea this is apparently a sky bed uh it was a a mushroom this is rope okay this is this is already rock-solid because you have to remember all the little bits i think this is shuriken no it's dirt okay um one of these these are acorns i'm already kind of losing it like i'm not coping very well this i thought i would do a better job okay so we got shirt runes and lamp post walls what's this all right now come what is that what i mean ferrari does that i was cut down the middle by ogre spit so ah because projectiles are randomized we turned our own shuriken into ogre spit it's forever ogre spit great you know what shrek would be very proud that me a mere mortal has been reduced to to blood and bones not a very kind man okay so we know not to use that all right maybe we should have been it what about this that was a potion what about this uh that is just simply stone one of these again all right that's rope okay oh god i honestly i'm i'm losing my mind here you see the goal with this mod really is can you make it all the way to the moonlord and to that i say i don't think i could make it to the eye of cthulhu because here's the thing if you don't know what the summoning device for the eye of cthulhu is how are you doing that like it's it's got to be impossible like you need armor and weapons okay and what if you don't know it what they are you've got no chance i i really doubt it that you could do it so i think if we're gonna find a chest this area seems pretty promising although i say that and we actually haven't found anything other than uh than pots i guess that's a thing when you go to the ice biome it's not as um is giving with like uh some of the wooden chests and such so i'm gonna have to gonna have to deal with this for now see the thing is if we got say more shuriken and the projectiles are random uh we could get something that's like really awesome like we we might be able to throw out our own version of uh betsy's flames for example you just don't know and like right now my torches are uh uh cyan dye or blue dye or whatever like i say somebody out there will know the name of this guy word by word and to that person i say you play too much terraria okay this looks like a really sick area to i really want that chest okay okay i've managed to survive all right let me let me slap down a torch and then okay so this is wood so this is rope you know what that actually kind of looks a little bit like rope but instead it's an amalgamation of many oranges it's perfect is this random world generation no no this is this is just actually terraria try did this oh what am i looking at how what what do you do with this oh this is a real space gun oh no way okay um so do you know what maybe it is possible to beat a boss is that an actual kimono that is a kimono that's a real present that gave me cheers it's actually candy cane okay that is real armor are these really green bulbs i don't know i don't know what anything is i'm going to assume they are all right these apparently maggots they actually are maggots um boreal wood sword that is real are these actually dresses they are so i'm assuming that maybe everything in the chest is legit like this is really a hunger fish but i don't know we got the space gun now so things are looking a lot better for us although i don't really have mana so maybe the next chest could have loads of fallen stars in that would be very nice i'm currently walking around with my uh my everscream trophy thank you very much please do not disturb it's funny because every single time i pull out the torch again it changes i don't know i thought it did this time it looks like a roasted marshmallow and i quite liked that i could see that being a thing okay so let me grab this uh what was that called a hook ridge hook rich thank you oh no get out the way okay i'll tell you what this world is actually blessed look at that a ball gel um okay right let me grab the let me grab my pickaxe if we're to make it out of here we're gonna have to be very lucky with how quickly this mine's through because if you look on the mini map i don't think we look close at all okay all right i'm losing health but i've healed okay good uh what was it we grabbed then ball gel two of those bad boys oh there's a bat oh god okay if i can just get to to there oh no oh god this is brutal this is truly brutal okay reaper skeletron uh sounds like my kind of enemy okay let's see if there's anything else about just it this is all nonsense though isn't it another thing i like is that the fact that the sounds just don't work like we're hitting enemy here but it just doesn't want to register it even the game's like all right do you really know what's going on because we don't we're the game okay all right oh god there's so many of these slimes i hate them they're actually the worst okay let's build over them there we go oh look at that that's how you survive through being intimidated oh no i i think we might actually die this time i don't think enough glowing fish will help me out here oh there is a little pocket to breathe that's decent at least let me mine through here i think i've run out of glow sticks yeah i have yeah this ain't looking good for me although another little area to breathe okay this is decent i'm mainly just wanting to see more chest loot i think that's going to be the the funnest part of the mod it's just randomly checking out chests oh god all right okay so that that was pretty tragic let's um let's head to the left then and see if we can actually find anything over there you know what this glow stick reminds me of it reminds me of that scene i can't remember which star wars movie it is where um is it kylo ren kylo ren stops like a blast in mid-air maybe darth vader i don't know don't i'm not falling on the law of star wars it reminds me of that just like lingering around all right we may have the force these zombies are pretty brutal once again if you're wondering why one's dressed like superman and one stressed like the joker uh it's that's actually halloween in terraria it's one of the best parts about the game i will say it's pretty weird having fought so many of these in 3d to return to terraria they're honestly like just as intimidating that's one thing that terraria craft really got right is the the horror that is trying to run around at night time because these things are they just snipe you out of nowhere they're just so relentless like look at them there's another one already i i just don't have the i don't have the health to make it to anything else this world is kind of scuffed a little bit do you know what i think it's time we we we shook it up all right let's see what the randomizer mod does to our actual world because i've tried this once before now i don't know if i just got very unlucky or that's just the way it goes all right we'll we'll make a new world so we're turning this setting on world generation randomizer uh save config click back i think we need to reload our mods i don't know if this is gonna go well i don't know if it will at all okay um godly dab of anxiety it's not a not a bad name to be honest uh i'll go small to make it easier on the computer so let's check it out then uh the godly oh no no all right it is welcome to the randomizer mod uh i i made this video to give you all a laugh honestly because because this is this is the worst way you could play terraria it truly is but i kind of like seeing it i don't know it feels almost like looking at modern art like i don't know it's it's a giant mashup a freaky mashup of loads of different aspects of terraria in a way i think it's quite beautiful but it's also like it's tragic like we're being killed by a yellow ball why i don't know a sand ball apparently the sandball's a real thing in terraria are those are those the things that get fired at you from ant lions maybe i don't know so that has been the terraria randomizer mod what did you think was it was it as good as you'd hoped
