TEACHER SECRET SANTA 2020

hello there and welcome back to my channel if you are new here my name is michelle emerson and i am a fourth grade teacher in maryland i'm sure by the title you already know what today's video is all about it is time for yet another teacher youtuber secret santa [Music] the first year i did this was back in 2017 and i love the tradition of it i look forward to it every year basically those of us who are teachers on youtube collaborate together to do a secret santa exchange this year is just a little bit different we decided we wanted to be able to give back in some way so all of the ad revenue from this video is going to be donated to no kid hungry no kid hungry's mission is just that to have no kid in america hungry and especially right now with covid19 and so many schools being shut down and operating virtually i think it's super important to make sure that students are getting their meals so if you are watching this video any ads that come up please don't skip them because charity so by watching all of the videos you can give back in more way than one okay we're gonna go ahead and jump into it this package arrived about two days ago and i have been anxiously awaiting a chance to open it so we're gonna go ahead and jump into it i feel like every single year my secret santa is an amazing taper i feel like every single year i end up having trouble getting into the box and just by looking at this my secret santa is yet again a good taper and again okay billy always gets nervous when i'm using scissors because he doesn't trust me and it's a good thing he's not home because he would probably be yelling at me right now okay i got into that relatively easily i'm kind of proud of myself i'm gonna leave those there because i will probably need them again oh okay oh it's we've got a big box right on top with a little penguin so i don't know oh oh it's all one big box okay hold on all right yep it is its own box that's very uh crafty i'm gonna put this down to the side this is adorable okay we are in all right we have some tissue paper here's kind of what we're working with here i'm gonna open this all right so number one is always just a handwritten note so we don't reveal who we are but we just write a note to the person i'm going to try to put this there okay it has sloths on it so they know me well it says keeping it cozy very cute and then on the inside it says kick back and have a chill holiday and i will read it out loud to the teacher who does it all not even close they must have the wrong person thank you for all that you do you are truly making a difference not only in each of your students lives but all of the teachers lives who you have helped hope you plus your hubs have a wonderful christmas luna get out of the box luna no you're not nope nope okay keep it up rockstar heart secret santa okay very nice note gave me all the warm and fuzzies i'm going to take off the tissue paper carefully because i don't want to light it on fire with the candle billy would not be happy so gift number two i think was like your favorite quarantine snack i want to say so i see this one has a number two and this one has a number two i'm kind of intrigued something smells good i can't tell if it's this or if it's just the wrapping or if it's something else the air smells so good but something smells like piney which i really like like piney smells okay i'm getting distracted so i'm gonna open up this one first first of all santa riding a zebra very much appreciate it oh yeah okay so we each fill out a survey to kind of give the other person a little bit of information in terms of likes and dislikes and i felt really lame because i was like protein bars like in that's not a fun quarantine snack but truly that is what i like eating so i had put down that i liked protein bars even though i know that's really lame but truly that has been my favorite quarantine snack these are some of my favorites they are the quest mint chocolate chunk i love mint chocolate flavored anything pretty much and quest bars are one of my favorites so i'm super excited about that yay well we have started off very well so it can't get any better from here oh yes it can i am wrong oh okay um okay i mentioned liking mint that goes with peppermint as well we have some peppermint white fudge dipped pretzel rods i'm sorry but what that sounds literally amazing um i'm gonna have one of these tonight or when i finish this video um let's be real but that sounds amazing i'm in heaven already snacks are the way to my heart okay gift number three i think was like your favorite ppe swag so like personal protective equipment so like masks sanitizer stuff like that so let's get the hair out of my mouth first um is this one number three yes okay it feels interesting it's kind of got a lot of pieces are you all like this do you all feel your presents before you open them or is that just me okay what do we have oh okay so we have some face masks from target these are the universal thread kind which actually i've been loving like the face masks from target are the only ones that i've been wearing i feel like they actually fit my face very well unlike some of the other ones which are like too big or they don't like have the right angle so i'm super excited to try these and it looks like there's a let me open it okay so there's this one it's kind of plaid this is perfect for the holiday time and then this one that has a little bit more of like a floral print this is really good because literally right now i've been only wearing like black ones so these will be nice to kind of change it up i love that they're perfect for like the holiday time all right and then there's something else in here oh it's a hand sanitizer holder that's adorable so it's a little snowman and it's like super fuzzy and let me see oh peppermint twist so one of my favorite scents um i can't really smell it hold on i gotta like unscrew it because there's one of those little safety things at the top oh nope it's still there okay hold on thanks luna for interrupting my video appreciate it oh yeah i like that smell i love like peppermint mint any kind love the smell of the taste awesome super cute i will add that to my keychain okay gift number four was like something for their passion so i'm interested to see with this one because besides teaching basically all i do is work out so interested on this one okay all right so this is number four very cute uh detail up here we've got some little cuts in the wrapping paper i need to learn from my secret santa because i am horrible at wrapping things and i have a video coming next week where i'm kind of wrapping presents and getting ready for the holidays and you all will see what i mean oh it's a blender bottle you all probably think i'm so lame right now but truly this is like one oh my gosh it just got so much better okay okay back up um blender bottles are what i use to drink my protein coffee from every single morning i also take one with me to the gym with pre-workout so i use two blender bottles a day billy and i share the pre-workout at the gym and then he uses a blender bottle for bcaas when we get home so we go through three blender bottles a day and we're constantly like washing them so i love having extras i love that it's black it's my favorite color but you all do you see this it says pocket full of protein on it that is literally one of the best things i've ever seen it's brand colors the fonts like perfection billy is going to crack up and the best part is this will be mine and he will not be able to use it this is phenomenal i feel like i could just stop now and i would be perfectly happy like i've got protein bars i've got some new masks i've got mint covered pretzel sticks and i've got a blender bottle that is on brand i'm good to go but gift number five is like the final gift it's like the bigger gift and there are multiple in here there are like four different things so i think we're gonna start small and go big that's what i like to do start with the small ones and then go to the bigger ones so we're gonna start with this one i'm sorry i'm still smelling things because i feel like i can still smell okay i feel like hold on hold on is it a bath bomb i think it's a bath bomb okay i knew i was smelling something yeah it's a bath bomb oh it's from lush so i've heard of lush i've never used lush i kind of don't know if lush is a store or a brand i think it's a store but it might just be a brand i don't really know but i've never used anything from lush so i'm very excited to try okay we have this beautiful bath bomb i'm going to drop or i'm going to put it back in before i drop it because that would be on brand for me to do but it it smells like [Music] okay i can't quite tell but it's more of like um not piney i don't know but i like it it's like a woodsy kind of smell um i don't really like floral type of smells and this one smells more like woodsy which i really really like i have been obsessed with using like bath bombs and face masks because i've had a bunch of them stored under my bathroom sink and so i'm slowly trying to like work through them because i have a tendency to hoard stuff like that and then i never actually use it so i'm trying to be a better person and actually use them so every night when i get home from the gym i'll like do a bath bomb and i'll put on a face mask and then i'll like take a shower and actually wash my hair and this is perfect for that so i'm super excited next i think size-wise this one's heavier so i'm gonna wait and do that once next let's do this one this one's like nice and light and kind of squishy socks i love socks okay says the sockdrawer.com which i have not heard of so i'll have to look them up and it says this year find joy in the little things very cool so i will put their information down in the description box and it says hold on let me take this off okay it says every day i slay that is adorable i love like festive holiday socks um yes i still wear them even though i'm teaching virtually i just lift my foot up on camera and like show them what i'm wearing okay next we're going to do this one that's kind of heavy and makes noise apparently i have no idea what this is is it a candle yeah it's a candle something else that smells good okay yes winter spruce that sounds so good okay let me do a little scent test yes yes that's what i love oh yep yep yep i can get down with that so in addition to doing like face masks and bath bombs i have been obsessed with burning candles there's one right there this drawer right here i don't know if you can see it but this is full of candles and i've been slowly working through my candle stash so this is going to go in there as soon as i finish the video what i'm gonna probably do i have a couple cents that are like very specific to christmas i'm gonna burn through those and then this would be a nice like january candle am i the only one that decides when i'm gonna burn the candle based on the month probably okay we have one final giftaroonie here it feels like a book which i might know what it is so in the survey i put that i was really hoping to get the new jody pico book because she is my all-time favorite author so fingers crossed yay it is okay so this one is called the book of two ways i absolutely love jody pico i discovered her when i was in college and i have been obsessed i love her style of writing if you have never read anything by her highly highly recommend it i will have to tell billy because he was probably gonna get this for me for christmas so i'm gonna have to let him know not to get it but i cannot wait to start reading this maybe while i'm in the bathtub tonight with my bath bomb i will light the candle and read my book and then put on my fuzzy socks afterward and eat a pretzel that sounds like a plan okay so we are on the final card it says guess who this is like the final reveal um so last year i guessed and was wrong and i'm a little bit scarred by that experience i don't like to guess things um like billy will come home and he'll be like guess what i'm like just tell me i don't i don't like to guess i kind of already know who it is though because when the package came my last name was spelled wrong and so i was trying to figure out like if it went to the wrong house or like if it was the right person and i saw who it was from so i kind of already know so i'm just gonna open it but i'm gonna pretend to be surprised okay we're gonna test my acting skills ready so we have a little dinosaur in a tree very cute it's taylor you're such an amazing actor okay that was horrible but let me go ahead and read it it says i started watching your channel when i was in college to become a teacher that's so cute then i became a teacher plus had a brutal first year i feel you but your channel really helped me keep pushing through you were always so real plus vulnerable then a little over a year ago i decided to start my own channel on youtube so thank you for virtually being there for me even with without even realizing it i appreciate you keep making 2020 look good again she might have the wrong person plus have a magical christmas heart taylor blair and she is from teach me something good so i will link her down in the
