TBC Classic Guide - How to DPS on High King Maulgar

hey guys welcome back today i'm starting something different something new to the channel that took me quite some time to do but i think it can help many people out lately on stream and discord i've been helping others by going over their logs and giving my input on what they can do to parse better well after reviewing mini logs i've realized that there's things that most if not all of them were doing wrong it seems to be the same issue many of the other ones had so to simplify this for us all here's a video on how to properly dps as a warlock for every raid boss in the game we will obviously start out with high king mulgar and then gruels next we'll be back theredon's then we'll start the t5 bosses so that we can get all those videos out to you guys before phase two launches i have not only cleared t5 at all of tbc i've seen all these bosses from a warlock perspective countless times and i just want to put my brain out there for you guys to see okay now this is new to my channel myself like i said however we'll be doing every boss in the game and this is only the first one so if you guys can think of anything to help the future dps guides to be better please say so in the comments and do not worry i will try to not speak too fast so without further rambling let's get some parses alright guys to start off this is what the floor looks like this is what the ground or the whole place looks like the the map arena if you would say this took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to do this but go ahead and let's get straight into it right now okay so this is the pool the pool is we're going to do the basic strat we're not gonna do a zigzag strat we're not doing a 15 second clear if you're doing a 15 20 30 second clear then you're probably not watching this video so this video is for the people who are doing this maybe you're pulling three at a time or maybe you're kind of you're getting like a minute kills a little bit longer you know these are the people who are parsing you know eight 70 80s 90s trying to get it up a little bit more okay so those guilds that are doing that are usually typically pulling three not two okay they're pulling him down nuking nuking nuking nuking and then they nuke hiking or they pull all three and you know either way whatever your comp is doing you're pretty much gonna do the same thing okay now before you do anything and i have to say this you need to make sure that you're consumed now before i go in this list i'm telling you this because you don't know how many times i've gone over someone's logs and they're not flasked or they're using i can adapt elixir they're using the wrong food buff they're using you know a healing oil or like the affliction oil or something make sure you're you're sac you're you're sacrificed to correct demon this is a very big deal you know if your fire dish or succubus of your shadow is common it's common sense i know but you never know some people forget that it dies some people just you know they forget and this is things to keep note of right make sure you have your manufacturer destroy pots i've seen people using haste pots which are not helpful for casters or melee haste pots you know i've seen people on logs use those instead of these ones so make sure you use the right one what's up guys you want to uh do me a favor and go ahead and uh [ __ ] subscribe huh make that red butt turn gray for me please thank you yeah flame cast for fire destroy i see people not using and you have kibbler's bits and scrolls so many times guys i've seen fell guard warlocks going there with nothing on their pet and their pet dies and this garbage doing dps and they're like oh my god my [ __ ] felguard's garbage like no you're garbage like make sure that you're consumed okay this is huge dps it's free dps i mean it's not free because it costs gold but you know what i mean free dps that's in your control like don't pass that [ __ ] up all right next up uh let's get back to the still shot and i'll pause it real quick before it goes to the motions okay so you're going to see in a second this all this will move into positions so i guess to start on this side as well what you can do is you can actually pre-pull so hiking mole guard is tauntable so you can actually pre-cast like a soul fire or a shadow bolt i would go soul fire if your fire death show and i would go shadow bolt if your style destroyed by pre-pool i mean you have the countdown timer going nine eight seven six five four three i'm casting a soul fire or shadow bolt whatever so you wanna make sure that cast gets off your hands and lands on the boss as soon as the timer hits zero this is not something i almost didn't want to say it in here because i don't suggest a lot of people do this because if your tank is not ready for it or whatever the reason is it could be kind of bad you know but if your fire dasher you can pre-pool with the with the soul fire and if you're shadow i like the people with the shadow bowl that's because it has a chance to put up isb right so imagine a stack of isb imagine isb being up right right everybody plans for faith and start pumping right so obviously everybody a lot of people are fire industrial so let's go ahead and uh soul fire but obviously like i said one more time please i don't want to get yelled at don't be like quick craigslist fool uh precast the soulfire and then i did and then he tanked here he missed miss perry and then i pulled aggro and i wiped the raid like that's your fault like right don't do it because of me i'm just giving you guys a little tip so on pull the first thing that i'm doing is right you're going to see the warrior tank get emptied this guy's getting emptied right so this warrior tank is gonna go him mage is initiating combat ellie you know boomy hunter whatever the [ __ ] you have to taking that tank away right so that we're moving right now as soon as you go into movement right here right this is what the whole route looks like so you can see it real quick and i'll rewind a little bit all right see one more time so you know this is the generally the best direction that you should be moving into the content might mean okay so now as we're doing this we're moving right right here pause it i'm dooming this guy right now like as soon as i i have targeted target on and as soon as i see him fully on this guy i am dooming him right away now you can do now you can do this regardless of what if you're say you're you're oh i'm i'm cursed element's [ __ ] or i'm chris wreck [ __ ] doesn't matter this doesn't need crystal elements no one's no one should be attacking him besides the dots that are you know you're multi-dotting nothing should be attacking but a warrior or you know whatever your tank is don't worry about it doom this guy as you go in so what i'm doing is i'm doing this guy as we come in let's rewind a little bit i'm dooming him as i'm running in doom i'm agony i'm agony i'm agony and i'm gonna agony him only if i'm running up here so we know that before the summoner comes down here right he summons a fell hound right that you need to either enslave or banish okay now you should always prior enslave over banish because inside this thing does this thing [ __ ] it does a lot of damage right now obviously one thing to make note of is on parses for warcraft logs this hound does not count towards your parts that every bit of damage he does does not count towards her parts all right but at the same time someone needs to do this so don't not do it because you want to worry about your parts you can if you want to abandon ship and i wouldn't suggest it just enslave it or have someone else do it now this doesn't hurt you much this really hurts you enslaving this hurts you if you're like felguard because it gets rid of your fell guard right but it's like fire dash joe shadow destro it doesn't matter because you can keep your demonic sacrifice buff and still fail guard this you just lose like a two and a half three seconds for the cast of the enslave right so i am going doom agony agony agony agony as i'm positioning somewhere right here i'm making sure i'm out of range because this guy does a knockback right you want to make sure you're out of range of him at all times so i'm like sitting kind of like right here that's where all the ranged dps typically sit i would probably say dps is this circle this whole entire circle pretty much right watch out for this guy's knockback watch guy for this guys uh watch for this guy's uh whirlwind okay this common sense you're not even by this guy you're just you're keeping one doom on him you might squeeze off a second doom you might not i don't know that's up to you guys this is kill times okay so now in this situation he's doomed he's agony he's agony he's agony sees agony this guy's enslaved or some of the other warlocks are messing with it and the next thing the immediate next thing i'm doing is i'm turning around and i'm putting up my dots on these two guys because this is the kill prior all right i'm i'm focused targeting one of this usually this guy i focus start with this guy and this the only reason to do i do that is because i like to ease i don't like tap targeting i'm not a big tab target fan um because you you'll [ __ ] around tap target that you'll attack you'll think you're tapping back and forth from these guys tab tab tab tab next you know it's tab what tab wait what the [ __ ] tab what how did i how did i tap this guy like i i don't like the tab stuff i'm not a big fan of it so after i get my dots up initial pace right now for acting like these guys just planned their foot they're right boom they're landing boom the tank's got ignition aggro these guys had to have these guys have aggro i'm not going to spend time to put emulates and corruptions up on these guys right i do as felguard but that's only because and it's only situational actually if i really do that as fail guard as well um but yeah after we get all the up you turn around double dot both of these i always dot both these i will email as felguard i'm emo corrupting emo corrupting and then i'm popping my cooldowns and pumping now as shadow dasher with fire destroy i do not email and correct both of these i will email both of these but because i'm running ruin the talent ruin i like to go as much tedious as they can or incinerate as i can fell guard doesn't run ruin their crit's not too crazy like that it's not a big deal so dot both of these pump these guys down eventually the blind cereal died had their blinds here dies keep going and then eventually the summoner to die at this point in life you're thinking yourself hmm my doom might be coming off which is good now if you have enough time for your doom to go redo if you don't put an agony up okay and just keep pumping right here you're going to send your fellow gun in this guy and you're going to pump this guy or obviously if you're you know listen to your raid leader not cricks keep going till this guy dies keep going make sure he dies and then now you're on the boss just literally spam into him it's so easy like that's it obviously be smart there's a whirlwind right he has a whirlwind pull your pet back when he does the royal one charge it back in there's nothing much to worry about here bro as we go as for like when we look at your potions and stuff i am moving a lot on this fight in the beginning i'm moving a lot my fights are short these are really short fights i don't run out of mana so i destroy pot um i would suggest gesture party in this fight t4 is one of those things where you can get away with destroy plotting quite frequently because gruels mags all that gross layered magslayer have a lot of time for you to tap in this in that situation i do stand here for most of the time and i don't run and move that much right but so yeah amanda pop i mean in the beginning stages of tbc i mana potted here but after i got to the point where now we're killing this before i'm even a quarter of the way you know quarter left or my mana i gesture pop uh let's see what else i'm trying to think of what else could be wrong i think that's about it yep that's about it for this fight guys let me see if you think about anything else we watch it again yeah we're good that's about it so yeah stop that guys all right so then he dies right and then just go ahead and get your loot that's it that's all you gotta do get your loot you win easy fight it's not the beginning of the fight man i i'd probably say the biggest the biggest thing that i see people doing like i said they're not it's just not dooming just get a doom off that first doom is pretty big it can be a very big deal um so try to get that first doom off make sure you're not dying by nothing okay okay now i'm going to show footage uh it's it's a side by side footage so it's going to be the actual footage from um it's a little blurry right now it'll fix itself actual footage from a i think i'm yeah i'm running felguard footage on right side and this is the replay of the same same fight okay so you'll
