all rejoice and be glad therein our scripture this morning comes from proverbs chapter 20. and it reads wine is a smoke it's a marker rather strong drink is raging and whosoever is deceived thereby is not why the fear of a king is at the roaring of a lion who so provoketh him to anger sent us against his own soul it is an honor for a man to cease from strife but every fool will be meddling the slugger will plow will not plow by reason of cold therefore shall he beg and harvest and have nothing counsel in the heart of man is like deep water but a man of understanding will draw it out most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness but a faithful man who can find the just man walketh in his integrity and his children are blessed after him i read to you proverbs chapter 20 verse one through seven may the lord add a blessing to the readers hears and most importantly to do us of his holy word let us pray o heavenly father before i ask you for every anything i'm gonna thank you for everything thanking you for your blessings thank you for your anointing thank you for your goodness and your mercy thanking you for our pastor that you allowed to over your sheet i pray that you continue to keep him in your keeping care you bless him he and his family in a mighty way bless the pilgrim resignation lord teach each and every one of them in perfect peace i pray for those that are sick and shut in those that have on this father's day that have lost the father that have have gone on to glory but please note that they are there waiting for you for even though we have a few more hills to climb please know that they are there waiting on you lord i pray for all the fathers the grandfathers the great grandfathers and those fathers that are standing in the gap for your name say lord we live a lifetime trying to find what is that good and perfect and acceptable will of god for our life and our purpose for as fathers but you tell us in your word in ephesians to wait and to provoke not our children to wrath but to nurture them and the ammunition of the lord i pray lord that you continue to bless each and every father that's represented in this church and this nation and this world i pray that you continue to keep them in your keeping care lord our purpose is in your word and we just need you to continue to guide and direct us lord in a mighty way lord i thank you for your word when it tells us in proverbs 17 6 children children are the crown of old men but the glory of children are their fathers i pray that we leave a legacy to our children that will sustain and last for generations and generations to come i pray that our love and fellowship shall continue to bound in knowledge and all understanding in all our ways that we accept you lord and lead not into our own understanding i pray that our love and fellowship shall continue to bless those that do not know you lord i ask that you allow a light to shine so it may be a representation of you and i thank you father for each and every blessing that you bestowed upon us i pray as fathers that we walk in the fullness of your blessing the assurance of your anointing and the goddess of your holy spirit allowing our light to shine so it may be a representation in our children and our children's children when they see it and know the way to life is through our lord and savior jesus christ this is your his presence with singing and thanksgiving knowing that he is god it is he that has made us and not we ourselves we are the sheep of his pastor and we thank him today thank god for the praising this brothers to demise in the last two months i know it's heavy and i know it's a little tough i know it's nothing sweet right now but i promise you what god has done in the past he's capable he's able he's strong enough to do it again and you can lean on him when you can't lean on anybody else and just know that we have you in our prayers and god is going to lighten up your heavy load all right run off election on tuesday for the house seat district 78 candidates are brother donald williams and brother kenyatta hassell now what i want you to do is if you are a residence of of district 78 go out says the lord set that house in order for thou shalt die and not live then he turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the lord saying i because thee oh lord remember now how i have walked before thee in truth with a perfect heart and has done [Music] that which is good in thy sight and hezekiah well so and it came to pass before isaiah was gone out of the middle court that the word of the lord came to him saying turn again in other words turn around and tell hezekiah the captain of my people thus says the lord the god of david thou father i have heard thy prayer i have seen thy tears behold i will heal thee on the third day and thou shalt go up unto the house of the lord and the a clause of verse 6 says and i will add until the days 15 years i've heard thy pride send your tears hurt your prayers send your tears i'm gonna give you 15 more years after telling him time was up now he gives him 15 more years can i just talk with you today about just put it in god's hand just put it god's hand back in the day doc knox dr charles hayes and the cosmopolitan choir of chicago sing a song that says all in his hands says i put it all in his hands i put it all in his hands whatever my burden problem if i have a question he says i put it all yes i put it all in god's hands because dr hayes knew something that some of us know or should know that the safest place in the whole wide world is really in the hands of our god i hear you i hear you i hear you why should i put all my problems in his hand well you should do it because we cannot adequately predict our future neither can we forecast the timing of bad news we cannot prepare we can prepare rather for a lot of things in this life but i can assure you that bad news is not one of them us because sometimes at the height and peak of our success and accomplishments you can receive a special bulletin or an interruption saying that things have taken a change for for the worse your situation then began to look bleak weak dark and depressing just watch this when you thought you were about to turn the corner and every thing was gonna smooth out you won't have smooth sailing uh everything seems to go south you thought you had it all together huh you retired now you go you you're gonna you're gonna spend some quality time with the family vacation and all of these are uh plans you've made but have a doctor's visit only to have him give you some disturbing and dispersion news that everything ain't all right anybody been there i want to know because listen when that happens to you sometimes you feel like uh hezekiah you've been picked out to be picked on but listen my brothers and sisters never become ha so complacent that you forget that trouble sickness hard times heartaches kills suffering frustration and all of these things can be taken for granted because they have no respect a person you can be young you can be old you can be rich you can be poor yeah you can be black you can be white you can be democrat you can be republican you can be jew you can be gentile accidental or oxel dino there are some things that we cannot successfully prepare for in this life i'm going to say it again there are some things i don't care how well you think you'll prepare so you have your 401k you have your mutual funds you have your stocks and bonds you just had a good report from the doctor but there are something that can change in the twinkling y'all talk to me i said some things can change but in the twinkling of an eye it's not the leaning tree that always falls first things can change and such was the case in the life of king hezekiah y'all pray with me now it appeals that hezekiah had achieved everything anybody could have hoped for in life watch this watch this don't miss it everything seemed to have been going his way am i talking to anybody this morning things seem like they're going to work out for the best hezekiah was the 12th king of the nation of judah yeah became king as a young man at the teen age of 25 he he he he makes himself one of the youngest kings ever reached a high place of authority which means god had confidence trust in him and that's saying a lot when god can trust you i want to ask you can god trust you regardless of your age or your stage can god trust you i know you can trust him but i want to know can he trust you can he trust us let me say we we know we can trust him but but but the question is can he trust us hezekiah watch this by all accounts was one of the most perfect kings of the nation of judah he brought the nation of judah uh uh back to prominence and prosperity which gained him respect of his entire community respect of his peers even his enemies they all respected him watch this don't miss it hezekiah had won victories for judah against the philistine hezekiah had it going on but one day out of the clear blue when he thought everything was going on just right when he thought he had everything figured out he receives watch this some disturb news i'll tell you hezekiah had fallen ill and the lord sent isaiah the prophet to alert him that his time was winding down sent him and told him isaiah go tell king hezekiah that the love said the thou shall die and not be a shocking serious saddening this was serious because of who said it a lot of folks say a lot of stuff i think that they said the lord told them i really have my suspicions because folks sometimes use god's name so conveniently davis until they got something they want to tell you but they'll tell you the lord told me to tell you well i don't dispute that but i think sometimes god will stop by me and tell me some of the things he don't he don't just bypass me all the time but this one y'all help me this was serious because of who brought the message the man of god goes to the king and said king i got a message from the lord to tell you you got to set your house in order for you gonna die and not live can i preach my sermon watch it from the outside not from the outside person from the outside looking in it seemed like hezekiah house was already in order from the house side from the outside heather kyle seemed to be in control from the outside everything looked like it was smooth sailing from the outside you get the impression that heather guy had it going on from the outside it appeared that his life was flawless and that was from the outside and one of the problems of judging from the outside is that everything that looks good from the outside is not necessarily all right on the inside y'all missed that write this down write this down write this down first samuel 16 7 man looks at the house would appear but god looks at the heart can i tell you one more thing everything glitters and gold can i tell you something else every one of us in here could stand a good house cleaning i i know you think you're speaking span you always point fingers at other folk but listen sometime a self self-inventory will do all of us good you you ought to stop railing on everybody else because all of us got skeletons in our closets all of us have seen and come short of the glory of god and those skeletons in our closet sometimes the door becomes a job so you ought to stop concentrating on what other folk are doing until god work on me from the outside it it looked like everything was all right it seemed like his house was in order but all of us could stand a good house cleaning i know what you're doing you're shouting on sunday posting pictures and skip your own facebook having a good time laughing and enjoying your friend you look good on the outside you're riding good you're dressing good you're looking good you're smelling good you're eating good but underneath all of that there is a volcano about to erupt and destroy everything in his path i don't have no help here you've got you just a few watches center needles from blowing up and becoming the latest statistic or casualty because trouble has no respect a person come here joe come here come here joe joe 14 1 man that's born i feel like preaching of a woman it's put out for a few days watch this you got it and full of trouble i tell people all the time we came here with two strikes against us had done nothing wrong hadn't told one lie hadn't cut nobody out hadn't been in no fight ain't done nothing but you came here we did we came here with two strikes against what what are they reverend first of all you came here with a few days and and and and and and a few days the one maybe uh 50 a few days another maybe 20 but we all came here with a few days and one thing we all know those days are full of trouble if your house is out of order stop blaming everybody else for what's happening in your house when i talk about houses i'm not talking about the house you slept in last night i'm talking about what paul talked about in second corinthians 5 and 1 when he said for we know if this earthly house or this tabernacle will dissolve we have a bill in the house not made by of god not made by hands but eternal in the heavens i'm trying to tell you you can have a perfect roof over your head you can have perfect bricks around the house you can have perfect flows in your house and the copper can be immaculate but that ain't what i'm talking about i'm talking about the the house of your soul i want to know is it well with your soul doug williams said if i don't wake up in the morning can you say if i don't get up out of my bed in the morning everything is going to be all right if if i sleep through the night and the undertaker can't wake me up can you say everything y'all they're gonna help me go be all right i'm not talking about that house that you're paying a mortgage on i'm to my this house the house of your soul and paul told me to tell you henry we're going to leave here huh and and most of us not going to be as fortunate as hezekiah when god calls our name we gotta get out of here not too many heather cows living now when god says time to move y'all help me it's time to pack your bags get up out of stop blaming everybody else for your house for your job for your mess stop blaming everybody else for every time some bad break out you right in the middle stop blaming everybody else and ask god to work on me y'all talk to me work on me work on my eyes so i can see some good you know the whack on my hand so i can help somebody as i travel whack on my feet so i can walk y'all ain't gonna talk to me in the past i'm not talking about the house you slept in i'm coming out the house of your soul is it well with your soul whenever the circumstances or whatever they were hezekiah shows all of us that our works are in vain until we put it all in god's hand i know you've been trying to handle it that's why it's jacked up you've been trying to help me that that some stuff was not meant for you to handle y'all ain't gonna talk to me but that there's something god didn't intend for us to handle because if we can handle all of our problems we don't need to go if we if we can uh cure ourselves we don't need to heal so so i i'm i'm not talking about the house yeah all of us need the law hmm hand on us i it's another sermon it would really take me too long if i went there but but something just came from my mind when when when ezekiel said their hand i stopped other lord can y'all help me was i got no help upon me i dare you to invite god to touch you every now and then is there anybody preaching i'm preaching to you i need about five hundred thousand about a thousand y'all out there who know that you have asked and invited god's hands upon you and you felt god moving by his power yo help me by his strengths [Music] yeah hezekiah had a long list of successes did y'all hear me hezekiah had a long list of successes but sometimes things come along that are just too much for us to deal with on our own and can i tell you uh you can prepare all your life and have an adept emergency evacuation disaster plan and study all the escape routes in case of the most extreme case of calamity but there are some things that the devil can bring to you that you will not be able to handle by yourself here it is john 10 10 for the thief comes yeah only to kill steal i'm almost there and the star you may feel like you can tell yourself and everybody around you that you got it and you're doing it fine but the truth or the matter is if you're trying to pull a load that's more than you can handle you're like a sports car trying to pull a load that was designed for an 18 wheeler it's too much for you y'all help me it's too much for you because a sports car was never designed to pull that kind of load you see a sports car will break down on that kind of the rest but when you put it cut about it in god's hand when you take what you are wrestling with and put it in god's hand can i help somebody fang will work out y'all hear me i said things will work out for your good how do i know well the bible says our god is able to do exceedingly bundling that's ephesians 3 20 write that down write this down psalm 120 verse 1 the declares in my distress y'all help me i cried unto the lord and he hide me if jesus can't fix it can hashtag somebody and tell them if jesus can't fix it leave it alone i got i got to close hezekiah i'm through had a grand and glorious life until one day the lord sent him a bad report here it is here it is what do you do when your train runs off the track and it starts to look dismal dark and distant what do you do well i'm gonna take hezekiah as an example to tell you what you all do hezekiah turned to the wall y'all hear me hezekiah turned to something that was simple solid and uh serene when hezekiah received the bad news of his imminent death it was a shock to him and sometimes watch this i'm through god has to push us to the brink of extinction and uh we gotta be we believe that there's no prop a return only to see god flip it around do a makeover and give you another chance is there anybody in here glad that our god is a god of a another chance that close melissa you know what god can do if you just put it in his hand here's what he'll do doc he he will yeah he he he he'll he he'll turn your mess into a miracle if you put it in god's hand your pittiness he'll turn into praise i got no help him if you put it yeah in god's hand you turn your sorrow in to salvation because i just need to tell some dad and some father some granddaddy some great granddaddy it ain't over can y'all help me close it ain't over until god [Music] how to deal with controversy and now calamities first thing he did was he dismantled his pride you know pride is a terrible thing write this down proverbs 16 18 says pride goes before destruction and a hearty spirit before fall hezekiah yeah sin because he came to high minded and god always has a way of bringing us back down and i got to win this sickness and death invaded his house oh so many times we begin to fail and falter when god has really blessed us and we walk away from god and the spirit of god but thank god when the man of god came to talk to hezekiah he did an amazing thing he turned but y'all hear me he turned his face to a wall he turned his back on the world and turned yeah to somebody who got the whole world in his hands he turned from doctors who was giving them peels and needles and turned to someone who can heal all kinds of sickness i don't have no help here he turned his face through a wall and here's what the bible says i'm not making it up i read it to you he wept he cried it ain't no harm to shed a future every now and then bishop paul martin would want me to tell y'all this morning there's a whole lot of weeping and moaning and crying i tell you what he told me to tell you your chills are just temporary your teams are just a relief of the pain and sorrow and grief god's going to white i said he's going white like he did hezekiah he going away those two seven [Applause] away the second thing i gleaned from hezekiah's saga i gleaned that hezekiah and you know all through the bible it talks about prayers or the righteous availing much it talks about prayer you ought to pray without ceasing jesus fed me ought to always pray and not faint well that's whatever god did when isaiah gave him the bad news you know what he did he turned his face unto god i'm gonna give you this for free this won't cost you anything if you pray and then wait i said if you pray and then wait you know what will happen to god god god god he will work a miracle hey he turned his face to a wall and watch this up knocker he only had 30 words it is prayer he didn't pray no long prayer if you don't believe me read verse 3 in the text and he says something like this lord i'm your child i've always tried to do what was right in your sight i may have slept and we all do that sometime i say we all slip every now and then don't don't don't tell me
