foreign [Music] locomotive and this Hornby locomotive is one I've been hoping can't be will do for a while since they released the railroad range of the P2 of the north and this is the streamlined version of the P2 with the Bugatti nose at the front and this is Lord president number 203 the product code you need for this is r3985 It's dizzy ready and it takes a 21 pin connection and it comes in hornby's new style boxing that you get this was announced a few years ago I think around 2022 2021 along with a few other ones and the preserved one that they are building so let's get into The View and see if it's worth the money shall we starting off at the detail bag and the instructions you do get quite a lot of information here let's start off with the instructions the instructions themselves is on a quality piece of paper it feels really nice the instructions basically tell you the usual stuff that Hornby do the running in electrics the motor the chassis and occasionally it might have fluff in the pickups if you want it too much on carpet and other stuff a debris from hair and caps maybe on your layout cleaning of the tracks lubrication it says it's been lubricated at the factory but do it every six months or every 100 hours of running it also tells you where to lubricate it also told you how to DC fit it and sound which is in Nintendo I'll take off the tender top I believe as well to get into the do that sort of stuff we also have some accessories which I'll come on to in a minute and where they go then it also tells you about the new coupling assembly that Hornby have which we'll also get into in this review as well again it looks very sturdy and good we also the spare service and any issues you have please contact Hornby themselves like I said we do have a detail bag and this detail bag is quality Hornby of up their game lately of detail bags it started with for me with the 9f in this detail bag we get are some quality hatched names for the low bonuses Lord president again applied in with a little bit of glue or attack depending on what you prefer personally I'm not but that is a quality move from Hornby we also have some brake Rodding for the locomotive we have flange wheels for underneath the car because this version comes with flatulous wheels easy takeoff just to screw on the cab easily done we also have painted Bill and Ben as well quality we also have a left-handed and right-handed guard irons drain as well they have been painted too and we have a couple of bar and hook I believe for the front of this locomotive and it's all in the detail parts and the the instructions of where to add it if you wanted to add it it's all in there easily to understand as well as you now move on to the front of the locomotive the front of this metal Splunk buffers and they are quite soft quite easy it's a premium touch that is we also have a hole for the cup spare coupler mine hasn't got one in the detail bag which is a shame but I have a few spares knocking around we've got some irons knock stuff off the tracks as well like I said it has spoon buffers the buffer beam and housing is in a black we do have a number on the buffer beam which is a number of this locomotive and this locomotive is 2003 we have a few rivets dotted around there as well as we move on up we have The Usual Suspects we have three lampies in the usual places we also have the streamlined Bugatti style front that Hornby if I'm honest review of catches pretty well in quite a lot of their streamline locals like this like the a4s so we do have a few molded on hinges for the Smoke Box door which would have pulled down and then you'll dive inside I'm wondering if Hornby have modeled it or not but you can't get in to see again we have a bit of lighting dotted around as well we also of some foot pads or foot plates along the side too which you can just about see and then we have a metal whistle at the top which is great and then we come to the top bit which is the double chimney at the top or blast pipe as they were known and now as we do a look at the side of this model again there's a few differences with this model with either sides let's start with the other side the other side has some small detail underneath the last driving wheel and the cab there's a few bits of detail that's not around here that is around there and one of you I'm not too sure what they are but its differences then on the running board of the locomotive just above the wheels there's a few less pots around that side and lubrication Parts sanding parts are getting they're all around there there's few more around this side and obviously around this side we do have the metal I believe it's a metal reversing Rod which is a great Touch by Hornby it's a premium touch actually let's start with the wheel configuration off for this model this model it is a Mikado wheel Arrangement by synergel Grizzly which means it's a two eight two real Arrangement and for me it looks depart I know the valve gear is different to other models that horn video of the P2 again it's all metal does he add a little bit of plastic well not much it's all metal we also have some lining on the wheels where the covers are for the wheels in the center they have lining as well it's also lining around the I want to say splasher on the front wheel it's a black with a little red lining around which is I like it it's great and we have a few more lubrication pots and oil pots and sanding pots on top here as well the Livery of this locomotive I believe is either apple green or Doncaster green if I have that correct and we have a mixture of Linings that work depending where you look it's a mixture so it's mainly I believe white black and white on the boiler around the chimney around the windows but they're the wheels where it's black I believe it's red they use an air gap in the center we do have a steam pipe I believe running along the boiler again it's picked out in green but at the end it's got a copper feel to it which is done pretty well and then we have a small handrail which bends at the front of the locomotive like it does on an A4 there are a few lubrication pots and wash out plugs as well if you might have noticed there's no Dome on this locomotive oils a little bit odd we do have lining around the windows we also have lining around the towing truck underneath the cap which is great I believe the chassis is die cast as we move up again we have a washout plug I think I build this plate and then we have the number of this locomotive which I said before which is 203 and then at the front we have a nameplate which is large president if I have that correct and if you want to add the H1 ones there in the detail back again it looks stunning around if I missed anything I do apologize I know there's a few steps underneath the cab as well as we move on to the part in most reviews that people look forward forward to in a modern day review and that is the features in the cab and the cab detail and Hornby have not let us down yet again with this cab this is fantastic this has been a modern one like I said it does have a flickering or glow Firebox on analog which is great it probably flickers on DCC fitted and sound and all that good stuff there's nothing about this in the instructions at all but it's there which is fantastic we also have a metal 4 plate which doesn't move by looks of it but it's there it's metal I believe it's a hitch it could be a little bit stiff we have handrails at the side we also have some doors on capside we also have some green seats as well effort in there is painted correctly we have a regulator in silver I believe we also have some coal gold and copper open there's no um water in the water gauges but they are painted crisply we also have a die in a dials we have the numbers as well with black writing and the white background you also have a ledge above the fire to put your tea on if you were a driver or fireman again we do have glazing in this and the glazing is flush and I believe we also have wood flooring as well if you look carefully you can see the new connector that won't be used for tender to Loco which I'll go into in a minute but the cup goes that is highly impressive moving on now to the front of the tender I want to call it the front of the tender you can see a clip sticking out that is for the connection which I said we'll go into in a minute we also have a hole as well which I assume might be for a water pipe or something like that if I'm not going to Tender we do have some more doors on the tender again these are all in green we also have some lining around the top of the tender as well I think it's a white bit of lining we have a few bits of hinges as well we have a few bits of stuff for the firemen to play with a few handles they're all painted black we have a shoot again in Black there's a few cupboards as well and again we have more handles for the crew to get up and down which I believe are metal it's quite highly detailed of tender in front of Loco do Cadet Loco and tender it's just simply you push to hear a click homie you've got a rid of the plug and wires and screws which was okay I quite liked it but here goes this is what it says to do in the instructions so you have a basically a clip hanging out and a bubble you just push it together it should be a little bit easier and then you hear a clip it does take a little bit of fiddling out but once it's done it's done and it's permanent connected as well and they're like okay like this out the box so yeah it's all good as we move on now to the side of the tender to me both sides of the tender oil exactly the same we do have metal handrails for the crew or grab irons for the crew to go on and off we also have some steps as well delivery like I said for this tender it matches the locomotive which I believe is either apple green or Doncaster green and we also have white black and white lining and there's a bit of white line inducted around the tender too in the center like like a lot of the locomotive we have crispy applied only our correct writing and front we have a little bit of shuddering going on as well very nice very basic as we move down like I said we do have steps I believe it is die cast down here it seems quite heavy we also have some lining around the actual boxes and springs you can also see the wheels too then on the other end we have some more steps as well I as we move now on to the back of the tender on the back of the tender we do have a couple already applied we also have some eyes knock stuff off the tracks as well we have metal shiny spoon buffers like the front they are round we also have the buffer heads in black with a few River the bubble beam itself is in red with a bit of lining we have I think an air purple vacuum pipe we also have a hook already applied moving on oh we have a little bit of a ledge but then we come to the tender the tender itself at the back is in like a Doncaster apple green we have at least three lamp irons we have one in the center of the tender nothing at the top as well we also have three steps to go up and we have a handrail as well we also have some lining at rounder 10 I believe we have white black and white and then I think we have white at the top there's a few handrails as well at the side too as you do an aerial view on top of the tender now on top of the tender we do have a water filler cap which looks to be simply applied we also have a half moon thing again I'm not too sure what that is for the whole of the tender is slightly in the body so it's more like a streamlined version I guess we also have a Colo the colored I believe is removable it's loose I have tried a few times but I don't want to scratch the model anyway the color itself is fine the color itself is not too big but not too small it's totally fine then at the end you can see the shoot and the fireman's tools that are there for the water I guess and other stuff to do an air review on top of this locomotive starting at the usual place which is the cab roof the ends of the cab roof where the cougar in and out they are in a little bit of green I believe there's a rain Ducket as well as you can see the cab roof again is in a streamlined version It's like a v-shape again we have lining around that we also have flush Windows as well for the crew we have metal safety valves there's two of them we also have four vents two in the center and two either end they do move and they are okay they're not move too easy like they did on the princess but the fine you can easily do it which is great like I said we have the lining as well and you can see a few handrails as you head down the locomotive speaking of heading down to the locomotive again you can see the boiler banding as well there's no molding marks on this as far as I can see we do have a few rivets in the center of the boiler which I believe that's where the Dome is so there's a circle of rivets there which looks great like I said you can see the handrails and other things as you go down the body and if you look perfect out the double chimney you can see through it sometimes which is great and again you get down the bottom to the buffers and the whistle as well I should do an underneath look at the Loco now from this angle you can see the wheel configuration a little better which is a two eight two the front apparently took it I want to call it does swivel around a bit make it go around Bend we also have two screws under there as well to take off the shell if you wanted to there's no instructions with mine we also have five screws to take off the base keeper plate which is great I believe this is comes away pretty easy there's no wires anything under there we do have bearings in there and we also have copper strips for the pickups the bearings in there is a fantastic torch is a premium touch in there and the copper strips do the usual jobs that they do if you want to add the brake rigging it's in the detailed bag along with the wheel set for under the cab just take off one screw and put it back in and a small little base plate comes away easy done if you're going to do that remember you need bigger radius than um I think three or four or just use it as a display piece which I probably do if it was me and then we get honor to the low Contender connection but it is also a few other details from this angle you can see as well which I don't know what they are sorry and finally we come up to the underneath of the tender I've already discussed the low Contender connection previously in the video which is pretty easy to do this is an eight wheel tender it does have copper pickups on all of the wheels we also have a water scoop in the center as well I believe the brake rigging is already applied to the tender on the outside you have I think two or three screws to take off the base gift plate of the tender to get to the pickles you want to do fluff them and again there's a tour I think there's four screws two at the front two at the back to take off the tender top or shell to tip it or have a look inside that is how you do it it's a pretty basic underneath look at the tender but and at the end we also have the name pocket and coupling as well so yeah guys that's it on the tracks uh next up will be a usual points test and second radius test so here it goes let's get through this shall we thank you what's that 28 yeah the points test wasn't too bad the second radius was okay on one side of the board but not the other gets slowing right down maybe it's gonna do the pickups or the gauging who knows but he still managed it I wouldn't recommend it personally next up will be some slow speed and I will find it a train to pull so here goes it's not bad we're talking about 20. it's not bad [Applause] thank you so yeah guys that's the end of the running session and the review before I get my opinion on this locomotive the trainer was pulling with some railroad Hornby teeth coaches it looks fine with me only three of them though so the price for this I paid I got mine directly from Hornby the price on hornby's website for this is two five four four nine but I didn't pay that price I used my reward points that I had when I bought my Somerset and Dorset coaches to pay for this and this brought it down to the price at the model shops around the UK are selling it for so it was about 230 I paid for mine with the report reward points I use which is a great price everyone is with you like I said model shops around the UK it's around a 230 Mark for this and the other variants that Hornby have released is it perfect no it can't be second radius I don't know if it's meant to do second rages most of home business do do second Raiders but my scenes to slow right down it also slows right down in reverse as well and there was a fun coupler missing in the detail bag but are you really going to run this on second radius track possibly not it does look a little bit silly but possibly not the option is there and some people don't like the front couple of it would have been nice if to check the detail about just to see if it was there like I said I have spares and I will probably contact Hornby over it because it should be in there apart from the second radius it seems to run perfectly fine no issues whatsoever there's a few features that I wasn't expecting Hornby to have with this which is a new style Lego tender connection and a glow off liquid Firebox in the cab the Lego is full of lots of deal it looks basic on the outside it has lots of detail everywhere you look there's probably a few bits I have missed and this used to run pretty smooth at it going around my third rage is about 25 to 26 um my gaze Master Combi controller happily to run around with that it can pull more than the three but with mine being so small enough what free looked okay now the question is what I recommend this to people it all comes down to your preferences your taste in steam or modern Railways I understand that the is it Prince of Wales preserved one will probably appeal to a lot more people than this this will probably just appeal to um only our fans or streamlined fans if I'm honest with you the price is okay for quite a big locomotive it's almost the size of a 9f so yeah I can't really recommend it or not it's really down to you if you want one or not rods and stuff's coming up and stuff going around they look great I can watch them or they go around I said it Hornby I've done a stunning locomotive here I like it it's a Hornby has definitely got the shape of this locomotive correct and the color as well delivery looks fantastic this one is definitely probably the top three all-time favorite models I have in my collection it does look a stunning locomotive or model it's a thumbs up for me because it's only hard but it just generally thumbs up so hopefully guys see you in the next review please let me know your opinion on this model and please take care and goodbye [Music] foreign
