Streaker Kart Restoration: Ike's Adventures

what's going on guys as Isaac today I am going to do something different on Mike's adventures I'm gonna actually be working on a go-kart today now this go-kart is gonna be for my brother and he gave me this go-kart about a year ago for me and John to work on and more finally I'm finally doing something better there we go so what I'm gonna do with this thing today is I was going to look into switching the live axle to eight what I've never seen a differential axle my brother bought it I'm gonna see if it'll fit quick look at it I'm gonna say no but I'm gonna give it a shot this looks like it says streaker that looks like an s T or e a K er streaker so if y'all know what this is let me know in the comments and let me know about what your it is first off I'm gonna clean this thing up and get her ready for paint cuz I'm gonna make it look nice I'm gonna put some air in the tires and see if they'll hold air [Music] no idea do y'all know what that is I have no idea [Music] [Music] well I need to take this engine off pretty sure I'm not going to use this one not sure what I'm gonna use here one ball two bolts [Music] I was just gonna get it running and riding but that wasn't good enough was it no I gotta make it look halfway decent too [Music] [Music] [Music] so you want to spray it down make sure there's no oil anywhere you want this paint stick don't touch anything after you're done wiping it down I believe I have it wiped down pretty good she is ready for some paint so she's had plenty of time to dry up now I'm going to add some rust-oleum flat black [Music] [Music] sweet and now that the cart has had some time to dry I'm gonna add some truck bed coveting to the floorboards a little bit tougher guess what I'm gonna paint the bottom [Music] not too bad not too bad I liked a little bit of texture I don't know if you can see it but a little bit of texture that the floorboards have and the flat black looks pretty cool I'm gonna call this one the mmm the black beast not black beauty in the black beast that's what this is so next thing I'm gonna do is go get me a engine to put on this thing and maybe we'll be riding this thing today time to put your editing afraid I have no idea they're in a Mustang we're just spray-painting we're at yeah right here it's it's overspray it'll actually I'm sorry do you see much other spray now I do and I know that the gearwrench is not on the other side you should put the gear wrench on the other side it won't fit so there we go we got a roller all I got to do now is put some oil in it and some gasoline oh and hook up the throttle okay guys the most important thing on this it's a brand new engine you have to put oil in it and you have to have the right size funnel to put the oil in it I don't like the look at this long I'm gonna stop here and go get another thing other I have been guilty putting other things and I usually just bored in until it starts spilling out which is obviously over pool how many pools do you think it will take three three I say one wonderful add one pool only you live on choke is on damn [Music] and this replacement bicycle cable set the nicest one to cut up I made this little washer where the cable can go through I left the little Barrel on the end of the cable this is what we're gonna have run the cable through this washer and then the bolts gonna go through there see a little bit of a problem but it'll be fine to hook up the cable you have to loosen up this screw right here so you can get the part of the cable underneath it in fact I'll go ahead and show you good going underneath and you need to loosen this screw going into this barrel here so the cable can pass into it boom and then you have to tighten this up and you tighten this one up you got to hold the barrel they can tighten up on the screw now whenever I hit the gas it should work wait yes this go-kart is equipped with a on and off switch I don't know if it still works but the wiring goes to the back here and I'm going to hook it up to the low level oil cutoff I like using these little connectors what you do is you connect this wire or this connector to the yellow wire which is the low oil level cutoff switch and I take the end from the toggle switch and I stick it into this connector that this blue connector is around the yellow wire and I'm crimping this metal piece onto the wire which is connecting that black wire with the yellow wire we should have cut off that thing looks like has been sitting outside a long time so it's a good possibility that'll work lucky for me I've got a whole assortment of Springs and I'm going to add an extra spring for the return because I'm not going to return this engine just because the spring isn't strong enough to pull it back [Music] this which is bad so the why are going from there to there is fine but the switch is bad okay so you're gonna go rip this thing sure [Music] so that's it for this video we've got my brother's go fart going six and a half horsepower predators are injured bald streaker go-kart so it's an old streaker go to park few other odds and ends I'll do to it that'll be in other upcoming videos probably tires rims
