Strangers Rate Each Other's Pound Cake

the presentation on this is fantastic this isn't a pound cake so if that's what they were planning on eating they'd be upset my aunties are jamaican so they would probably tear this cake up they wouldn't put it out [Music] hey i'm candace and today i'm gonna win this pound cake challenge because my pound cake is the best why well mainly because i say so but i'm a really good baker and i'm a great cook all my friends are always like candace throws down in the kitchen i bake a really really good pound cake hi i'm jordan i've been baking for about 10 years i started my own cake pop business so i know my cake is gonna win one because i already know how to bake and two because i called in the big guns and called my mom what's up what's up what's up it's your boy reggie b i made a pound cake today and i am so excited i don't typically bake all that often but i just like making everything i eat anyway with this cake i am very very confident i think he's gonna beat the other cakes no shade to the other competitors of course but i'm here to win so i called on a bunch of people my mama don't make pound cake because pound cake is not a jamaican thing i'm jamaican but i did call one of my friends who is like a master baker and then i put my own little twist in it so it's a four hour recipe so four hours of love went into that pound cake so i hope y'all feel it the presentation on this is fantastic it's like meticulous like someone like took their time plating this cake it's really fancy with the um fruit and whatnot they went the extra mile same with the icing on there came with little berries this is meant to be more than just a dessert it's an experience off looks alone you won like a bunch of points from me smells like pound cake it doesn't smell like any different than a pound cake would it smells good it smells sweet um it looks pretty moist i want to say it's moist but the taste will really know yo damn they showed up this is good it's not bad this is really really good the icing is good i don't want to accuse them of like buying it from the store but it is like this this tastes like professional cake it definitely tastes like you could have bought it at a store like i know it was homemade like this isn't like a hobby cake this is like on point this is a solid pound cake i'm glad it's not the regular royal icing like it's the sugary icing and it's thick it's dense i had trouble like cutting down through it because it was like dense and the moisture is there too like the cake itself in the middle is definitely moist but the outside is kind of dry i would eat it again like i would survive with this yo yummy yummy it's good i'm not complaining on a scale from 1 to 10 i can't front absolutely no cap in this statement this is a nine-night attack like the six hold on i need one more bite the aunties would know it's not my mom's but i think they'd eat it while cake pops are very similar to i guess a pound cake i decided i need to call in the big guns so i called my mom and i got her recipe her cake is hands down the best pound cake i have ever had it's super moist it's really really really good with some vanilla ice cream you're definitely gonna want a piece i am a little underwhelmed this is a traditional pound cake it's what i was expecting to see it's cute i mean it looks good it looks traditional it's not like aesthetically pleasing i mean it it kind of just looks like regular dagular pound cake and it smells i mean it's not that strong smelling like i have to bring it really close to my nose to get anything i'm just not sure if i love the smell i was hoping to smell a little hint of vanilla it it's plain it's just like cake [Music] it's pound it nailed the pound cake taste but past that it didn't really seek to impress me it's not bad if this cake was at a party i'd probably eat half of it not the whole thing i mean it kind of tastes like pound cake you'd get at like a function just like oh here's pound cake because we had to make something for a bunch of people it's the traditional pound cake but there's something about the density of it i'm not sure if it's 10 undercooked maybe maybe it stayed in too long or whatnot but like it was like a crunchy chewy experience i didn't like the work i had to put in to that first bite it shouldn't be like really airy like an angel cake and it shouldn't be thick like a cheesecake but somewhere in between i don't feel special eating this cake no risks were taken here the cake lacks identity i rate this five this one's not for me i'm going to give this cake a six because it is not a bad cake but it is not a special cake for me my aunties are jamaican so they would probably tear this cake up not in a good way they wouldn't put it out [Music] i really feel like i killed it with this one it's a very unorthodox much like everything else i do there's some frosting on it there's some surprises inside it's a marble pound cake so that's vanilla and chocolate mixed together there's some chocolate chips in there too it's very very moist so i think my cake is going to win off moistness alone is that a word moistness moisty [Music] i am not excited about this cake at all i really really don't like icing i don't like chocolate and it has both of those things i love chocolate i'm a big big big big big chocolate fan so i'm already excited to try this it looks like it looks like it's going to be pretty good it also looks like i guess a marble cake not a pound cake so i feel like someone didn't follow the instructions it looks like there's chocolate chips in it too so i'm not enthused it looks like it could be a little dry on the inside but the chocolate on the outside may um work it out all right let's taste it i have to eat around the chocolate because i don't want any parts of that [Music] this is a chocolate cake i like it the taste tastes really good it's a good enough amount of like sweetness it's not too sweet it's not too tangy but it tastes like chocolate it does not taste like a pound cake traditionally it's not pound cake there's frosting because that would just be like a regular yellow cake so it's a good cake but i don't know if it's pound cake the frosting is good though i'm not gonna laugh it's chocolate no ma'am i would give this cake a seven two the first thing the aunties would say is this isn't a pound cake so if that's what they were planning on eating they'd be upset i love chocolate and it was it's it's good just not really pound cake and a tad bit dry i'm excited i won i knew it though i put a lot of love into that pound cake four hours of love they tasted it i like the other pound cakes as well um i would probably just you know see what was in it maybe give them a few tips on how to make it a little better but good job everyone i'm gonna have mine all right this is bomb y'all i'm sorry i know it's mine but it's so good you
