let me show you how to play your Nintendo switch games on Steam [Music] deck hello everybody Welcome to the channel so before we get started I want to give a full disclaimer I don't support piracy this isn't a guide to help you pirate games this is a guide for people that like me have a Nintendo switch and you can see I've got this weird controller thing I don't have the joycons on it's because I've gone through three pairs of joycons and they all have this weird issue where like when I play the games the character goes to the left U I think it's called joyon Drift okay and you know I'm not not going to spend another $50 to buy um a pair of joycons um and knowing 6 months one year down the line it's going to do the same thing okay and I can't really play where my character is always going left I'm not skilled enough I guess so that's why I want to uh play my legitimate purchase games on the steam deck okay because there I can you know my character doesn't go left and I can play it like how I do it uh so yeah that's the reason why I'm doing this um you might have your own reason all right but this is definitely not a reason for piring all right so as of recording emulation is still legal it's like hasn't been proven in court that it's not but you have to do it the right way and like the right way is to you know dump your own games dump your own keys and firmware all right even so Nintendo doesn't seem to agree that dumping your keys and firmware is legal it's not proven in court so yeah so as of recording it should be all right I'm not a lawyer but uh if you are and it's not let me know okay in the comments so yeah with that out of the way let's get started the first thing you want to do is make sure you're on your steamex desktop mode like I am right now and for this tutorial I'm going to use muud because I think it's the easiest way if you don't know what muud is go to mud.com click here download and then Steam OS click okay and then you should be able to download a file called mud. desktop okay locate that it should be in your downloads folder double click on it and then you click execute to install it's like a Windows installer just follow along it's going to take a little bit of time because uh there is a lot of emulators and it's going to download and install right I'm not going to install it in this video because it's going to take some time so okay I've already installed it just open up muud if you really do need help installing am deck I do have a video I'll leave it in the description you can click on that video if you need help but it's fairly simple okay so once you open Amud deck uh you might be overwhelmed because there's a lot of options and buttons okay but what you really need to do is just go here manage emulators and click on Reen because we're going to install the Nintendo switch emulator I already have it installed so for you if you haven't installed it yet you should have an install button right here where it says reinstall update Okay click on it and then once it's installed click go back and then go back okay and then you really want to go to tools and stuff there's a gyroscope button so if you want to play your switch games on your steam Deck with the steam deck gyro controls this is what you want to install but you need a sudo password and if you don't have that go here to the application launcher or start button okay go to all applications scroll down to k k for console click on it and then type P a SS swd okay and then you need to type your password twice make sure they're the same and make sure you remember it if you don't remember your Pudo password that's a problem so I won't go through that today uh but yeah just make sure you remember your pseudo password okay I already have a pseudo password so I'm not going to change it so just type your pseudo password here and then click install Steam deck jyro DSU okay it should be fairly quick yep press any key to exit press any key to exit so yeah that's done that's done you can see I've got two new new shortcuts on my desktop for gyro DSU that means it's installed that's very good um and when you installed muud deck you had an option to install onto your SD card or onto your internal SSD I prefer to install my emulation stuff on the SD card but that's personal preference so since I installed on my SD card go to your SD card location and then you should have a folder called emulation this is where all your udex stuff is okay so if you install it onto your uh internal SSD it should be inside your home folder and you should have a folder called emulation as well okay but uh for me it's on S SD card so yeah let's go here and for bios there's a bios folder you need to put your keys in the r Jinx folder and then Keys okay so make sure you put your keys that you dumped from your own Nintendo switch make sure you don't download it from the internet because that's illegal and we don't want any of that okay and for your games by default you should put them here in the ROMs directory and then go to switch if I can find it uh here it is and you should put your like your games that you dumped from your Nintendo switch just put them here all right so yeah make sure you don't um download those from the internet all right it's illegal and make sure you don't share your own like keys or games also that's also illegal okay so once you've got that set we can now open ruins so go back to your application launcher or start button and then go to games and you should have like Ru Jinks shortcut right here so we're going to open up re Jinx for the first time obviously not the first time for me um the first thing you want to do when you launch Ryu Jinx go here tools and then install firmware okay so I assume you already dumped your firmware from your Nintendo switch right I've dumped mine and I've zipped it so install a firmware from xci or zip and then I've got it right here my firmware and then select it open and then it's going to ask you if it's okay to continue yes and then successfully installed the firmware so you can see if you installed it correctly you should say your system version mine 17.0.0 okay and then we can go to options settings okay so by default this is the game directory that I showed you before emulation ROM switch if you want to put them somewhere else you can add a directory a game directory yourself manually but yeah I just put it here okay and then for input okay uh make sure your input device keep it at steam virtual gamad okay sorry I had to interrupt because um for the controller input um it appears that in gaming mode it's different so here I'm in gaming mode and if I go to the options and settings okay if you go to input uh it's controller Neptune all right so you don't have that steam virtual gam pad or steam controller all right it's controller Neptune so you might have to adjust this uh when you're in gaming mode and set it to controller Neptune you just have to set it once and then you're good to go but uh yeah just make sure motion is checked and you still have the use S you hook compatible motion server host and the port everything all that is the same just note that uh the input device is a little bit different on gaming mode okay so sorry for the interruption and then controller type I keep it at joycon pair and here motion make sure you it's checked and click configure and make sure this is also checked use simu hook compatible motion we're going to use that jav DSU okay and the server host is this one 127.0.0.1 and the port is 26760 all right just yeah it that's what it is um and that's it save apply okay and that's that's it that's it guys and if you want to like install like game updates or DLC stuff like that you can do it here so once you've got your games listed here so let's say here I want to update the game version from 1.0.0 all right so just right click the game and then manage title updates and then click here add right locate your update okay mine's right here mine's right here okay so version 1.2.0 okay and then make sure you click on it and that blue check mark goes to the new version and then click save okay it doesn't reflect immediately right so you might want to like close out of VI jins and relaunch it and it should like be updated okay see here now it's updated to 1.2.0 so it's the same thing for any dlc's all right and if you want to add mods okay I like to open the mods directory okay and let how I going to move my mods from my Yuzu emulator from the past okay I'm going to open up Yuzu and then I'm going to open the mod data location for my Yuzu so here are the mods that I had for Yuzu I'm just going to copy them copy them then I'll go back to my mods for my R Jinx I'm just going to paste them here okay and then now if I right click oh I got to close or maybe I just keep user open all right so now I can click manage mods and you can see I've got those three mods that I just copied over and you can disable them or enable them right or you can delete them if you want okay that's what you do and if you want to like transfer the save file you can also do that um go to here open user save directory okay so this is the save directory for my game and you know if you had a save file on Yuzu right click on the game on Yuzu open save data location copy all this copy all this and put them onto the safe data location for reings I'm just going to paste them here right into over right yeah that's done that's done and is there anything else that I missed yeah I think that's pretty much it and for the options there's not much options for reinx but we can go through them so yeah these are all default um system yeah these are all default vsync FS Integrity checks CPU I keep it at Host unchecked fastest unsafe yeah these are just yeah there's not much settings but uh maybe some games need different settings but uh yeah uh I just keep the these at the default oh yeah that's there's not much settings right just apply okay yeah that's all for the emulator and now back to Mu deck you want to you want to put the shortcut of the game onto your theme Library so you can open from game mode okay so what you want to do is go back to Mu deck and here you've got something called steam ROM manager click launch and then it's going to close Steam all right because for to create those steam shortcuts it needs steam to be closed so click yes and it's going to close Steam for you so steam is closing right now all right and then here steam run manager all right toggle passes oh yeah maybe not yeah this okay and you can toggle whatever ones you want on and off okay I'm not going to turn everything on because that's going to be crazy maybe I just want the emulators okay and then I want Nintendo switch [Music] so can I find reinx oh here it is so Nintendo switch Ru Jinx okay toggle this on and then all right if you have other emulators you want to also like put into your steam Library you can tole this on right once you've selected all the stuff you want click preview and then click pass and here are my games here are my games and the emulators and once that's done make sure you click save to steam all right if you don't press this it's not going to work so save to steam and then it should have something on the top right so once it says done you can close out of it close and we can go back to gaming mode and test stuff out so see you back in gaming mode okay welcome back to my steamex gaming mode okay this is gaming mode you can see right here I just booted up the game in advance because it takes so long to boot up don't want it to waste you guys time on the loading screen but you can see the controls are working fine the game doesn't run really well this one this game doesn't run too well on this emulator but uh or even on the steam deck but anyway uh let me show you the dver controls I was talking about so here's analog control so analog stick you can see there's no sudden movements but even if I'm like flickering the stick a lot like it's all smooth analog style but if I use gyro controls right now you can see I can flick it around yeah that's gyro controls working so definitely works uh just make sure when you're in gaming mode the first thing you want to do the first time go into settings and go to input and yeah make sure the input device is set to control a Neptune I I did a like interference in the middle of the video this is what I mean it's different from desktop mode you don't have that like steam deck virtual uh game pad anymore on gaming mode so yeah you have to do it once here and then just save it and then you know toggle back to full screen and you're good to go so the next time you open up the game it's already save so don't worry about that and yeah I think I'll leave it here so if you guys enjoyed this video please hit that thumbs up like this video it really helps out the channel and I'll see you guys in the next one later
