I wonder how much of this is AI driven programming vs user control
Is anyone else optimistic about what these will actually be used for? Every time I see Boston Dynamics videos people are freaking out, but I'm blown away. Ultimately the technology still looks pretty flawed (still amazing but nowhere near Black Mirror levels of terrifying). Rescue missions, medical work, maintenance work, elderly care. I just don't think it would be all that difficult to immobilise one of these if you needed to.
I mean I know that these eventually will become sentient and murder me in my sleep...but I want one.
We are so fucked.
I love how we collectively watch this little thing learn to jump, recover from falls, climb, do flips, handle objects, grow arm attachments, open doors, cut off power supplies and water valves... it's like watching the growth of our lil kill bot...wholesome in a way.
Does it have to hiss so loudly as it reaches for you?
It is interrupting my Snake Jazz jam.
I just love how much expression they went out of their way to program into those algorithms. Like it gets excited at laundry.
When we finally begin to colonize other planets most of the initial infrastructure will be built and/or maintained by these little troopers.
...and wearing coverings close Caterpillar colors no less. The bucket definitely adds that bit of flair yet a Tonka dump truck bed would have been oh so much better.
