Boston dynamics is really pushing hard on their PR campaign to try and humanize these robots so no one will mind them being sold as police robots. Notice they try and use a dog shaped robot because we are comfortable with dogs and it will be easier to accept. In reality it doesn’t matter if they look like this or the ED-209, they have the same function.
Still pretty cool that they’ve pushed it this far, maybe one day we’ll be able to have like a full on gundam machine otherwise the current state of affairs is pointing that this is a matrix reality
