what happens in the relationship with this'd be a repetition of what happens to these patients in all their relationships they are desperate for maintaining ideal relation and afraid of horrible ones so they divide all the other people into very good one and very bad ones or they divide the same people into being ideal and being very bad and they can't put the two sides together a boyfriend a girlfriend a spouse is all wonderful or horrible and they oscillate in their views and they themselves feel themselves either all good or horrible in other words they activate with the psychotherapists all the primitive split of relationships that they couldn't put together because there was an excessive frustration or aggression that interfered with a normal integration of good and dead experiences it may come from genetics Constitution temperament which means hyperactivity hypersensitivity of environment or from very bad experiences in early life physical abuse sexual abuse chronic witnessing from a physical and sexual abuse severe disorganization in the family chronic abandonment in the first few years of life severe dramatization so it has genetic constitutional temperamental dispositions as well as environmental ones that combine in different degrees but their end result is that split world into the tendency to repeat these relationships with the therapist
